When I started researching ADHD, learning that "time blindness" is a thing, particularly, nearly exploded my brain and made me feel so validated after so many years of feeling shame for my chronic lateness, missing deadlines, etc. I wish I'd known so much earlier!

Sometimes I think about how beautiful it is that humans sing despite it all. That through suffering, we still sing. How even on the worst of days in the world, there were still people singing. The way a mother sings a lullaby to her crying baby to soothe her. Or the way sailors sang sea shanties out even on choppy oceans to build a sense of familiarity and camaraderie as they worked. Or how even in the depths of the earth, coal miners sing. Isn’t that the most beautiful thing about the human spirit? That we found a way to reach each other in the darkness. To let each other know through song, that do not worry, I am here. Let us sing together and ease each others fears.

Of course I will.
Interesting to me how in season 4 Nick had started gathering information about Hannah just because he knew what it meant for June even when he didn’t even know if he was ever going to see her again. She never asked, in fact it wasn’t even her idea (or intention) to ask him to because she knew it was dangerous and contrary to what some think I don’t think June’s intentions are to use Nick.
It contrasts to how June had a moment with Holly where she talks to her about Nick. She was doing this before he asked her in 509. I know we haven’t seen this happen again after the scene in 407 but I believe this single scene is there to tell us that June does and will always tell Holly about her first daddy. June’s reaction to when Nick asks about Holly in the phone call in 503 is also very telling. She breaks down, it pains her that Nick can’t be in his daughter’s life.
I think it’s kind of a parallel that speaks to how well they know what’s important to one another and how they honor each other even when they aren’t together. We see Nick’s feelings for June and June’s feelings are always overshadowed by everything else that’s going on around her, but we are given slight subtleties that hint to her real feelings towards Nick.

it’s very interesting how bruce uses the word magnetism to describe june and luke’s bond when the only dynamic it truly applies to is june and nick's. sure, the writing in season 5 may be supporting that idea in theory but the chemistry on screen debunks it. lizzie and max truly are a match made in acting heaven, i don’t make the rules. 🤷♀️

the way you can hear a pin drop whenever nick and june are in each other’s presence because of how magnetic their bond is. yeah sorry, they are THE love story of this show. no matter how far apart they are physically, they remain drawn to each other emotionally. they don’t even need to touch each other for you to feel how deep their love is. their love almost doesn’t even make sense to them because of how inevitable and meant to be it feels in spite of everything. i love pain.
