el has never been able to kill vecna. she wins the battle by casting him away, but she fails to win the war. he's patient zero for powers, absorbed the powers of all the lab kids, has the upside down and all of its monsters on his side, and has even absorbed her powers.

she's a force to be reckoned with, but she's not stronger than him. not even with the help of everyone fighting together and hitting vecna from every single angle was she able to defeat him. she isn't the cure, she wasn't the right choice, the risk did not pay off, they rolled the die and they came up short, the odds were not on their side, and blahblahblah insert every other phrase that people used in this season alone to defend that choice here.

she fights, but she doesn't come up with plans. she knows him from her childhood, but she doesn't have direct access to his mind. she's brave, and she's strong, and she's powerful, but it's not enough to win on her own in a one-on-one fight.

will knows vecna's plans. he knows how he thinks, what he thinks. he has a direct status update on how he's doing. he's the first to know when something is happening regarding the upside down and vecna. he's familiar with the upside down, with possession, with the man that's eluded them for so long. he has access to invaluable knowledge that no one else does. it's not something that he has to think about—he just knows. and he's never been wrong.

the demogorgons knew where he was, but they never killed him or camped at his house. we know that he was dragged to the library, which is where the rifts collide, instead of being instantly killed like so many other victims. we know that he manipulated the lights in a way that is different to how the teens did it in season four, and that he also managed to make them move in a circle the way that the lab kids did. we know that there was a point in time when vecna wanted to kill everyone but him. we know that there was a time when vecna wanted him and sent in dogs to get him back. time in the upside down is stuck not on the day that el first opened the gate at eight years old, but on the day that will entered it. furthermore, if henry entered the upside down as we know it on that day years ago, then that also means that will was able to shape it to look like hawkins.

dustin rolled an eleven and lost. eleven went against vecna with the help of everyone and lost. the gates opened up and max is now missing. it's a repeat of season one. everyone that told them this was a risky idea and that they weren't ready was right.

meanwhile, mike and will worked together as a team with no daylight between them in season two, and they managed to close the gate and save the world. they failed to do that in season four, because they were keeping things from each other and thus weren't working as a true team. when they finally start being entirely truthful with each other again in season five, we'll undoubtedly see them save the day again.

will told el that they would fix this together. erica subbed for lucas against vecna, rolled a twenty, and won. will was positioned next to a "the cure" poster, is the only person truly aware of vecna, has a greater connection to the upside down than we previously thought and capabilities that we've yet to uncover, cast the winning fireball against their campaign villains before, was associated with the number twenty and one, has beat the odds more than once, is vecna's character foil, and is confirmed to be getting a bigger focus next season.

"I will if I have to." She grabbed his sleeve in her other hand, twisting her fingers around the fabric. "Callum, no, it's not right—" "It doesn't matter," Callum said fiercely. The disrespect this show gets on a daily basis, from the production to the network(s) to even the pirates who prefer to rip shows like *checks notes* Big Brother Canada (same group)...

I wouldn't be calling them out if I hadn't done this myself, by the way. People who have never ripped a damn thing can stay in their lane. I have earned my stripes, I'm not someone who wants to talk shit about those who do this, and I understand the process involved. The webrips are a different story, as they are uploaded by Amazon whenever. The HDTV rips should be uploaded on time, shortly after the network airs the show, and it's the same process as it always has been to rip them. Uploading HDTV rips after the webrips has no value whatsoever, unless someone cares that much about the promo, which of course CityTV doesn't care enough to upload themselves, proving once again what a shitty network they are.

Hudson and Rex has an international fanbase, it shouldn't be so difficult to be able to watch it as an international fan in 2024.

No one talks about Tango’s loyalty enough.

He follows Skizz to the end of the line, every time. He surrenders his life for him, no questions asked, to keep him in the game. It’s Skizz—what else is he going to do?

He stands on a lit explosive because his soulmate of two seasons ago told him to. He’s going to lose hearts, he knows he will—but it’s Jimmy. What else is he going to do?

Bdubs lodged an axe between his shoulder blades just a week ago, but still Tango returns to the Snow Castle, proclaiming them Team BET and keeping on a flimsy grin. He may have been betrayed, but it’s Bdubs—what else is he going to do?

He’ll hunt Martyn for his hour to the end of the world and back. His target only switches when it’s passed to Joel. But then Etho kills Joel, taking the hour, and Tango is telling him to run from Martyn’s blades, because it’s Etho—what else is he going to do?

Even the Ceaseless Eyes commandeering these games cannot shake his loyalty. It is carved in blood and drawn in tears. It lasts beyond the bounds of choking death, farther than anyone’s ever taken loyalty before.

Tango Tek is now your friend. Your ally, your confidant, the person that will follow you to the end of the line on the line that never ends.

The piano scene in S2E3 is somehow talked about SO MUCH but also not enough, and I know that doesn't make sense but hear me out. Wylan has been in the Barrel for how long with nothing from his life before, only the decency he stubbornly clings to (hence why he initially refused to make bombs for Kaz, but his desperation got the better of him) and, if we use the information from the books, his flute. And we know the significance of music in Wylan's identity: he used it to hide his disability by setting whatever was read aloud to him to a melody in his head; the music room was the only place in his father's house he was ever happy in; and, in Crooked Kingdom, he recalls sitting at the piano bench with his mother, and it's one of the few memories he has of her because she "died" when he was young, so of course his memory of her is going to be a bit foggy.

Music wasn't something he got so good at to win his father's approval the way science and maths were - music was always his. It's what makes him Wylan and not Jan Van Eck's son, and being in the Barrel has tried to separate him from that part of his identity. Yes, he plays his flute in S2E1, but he plays it out of desperation. How long has it been since he's played music because of how connected he is to it, not because he needs money? It's something he yearns to do, and so when he and Jesper break into Pekka's country estate, Wylan doesn't take his eyes off the piano when he notices it - not even while Jesper is talking to him. He yearns to feel the press of the piano keys beneath his fingers, for the comfort playing music always gave him, and I think this is beautifully signified in that frame where presses the broken piano key: he so desperately wants that comfort and security, but can't have it.

Even though it looks like he sits at the piano to encourage Alby to keep playing, it's more so because he couldn't pass up the opportunity to do what he's yearned to do for so long. It's only 30ish seconds, but he loses himself in the music he plays, in that security he's sought since he first arrived in the Barrel. He's reliving sitting at the piano bench with his mother, and a show headcanon I have is that this little piece of music was something Marya taught him or wrote for him or something he wrote for her. Either way, it's made him lose himself in those happy childhood memories of him playing the piano with her.

Then that momentary peace and comfort is snatched away from him as he snaps back to reality. He's not at his father's house playing piano with his mother: he's in the Barrel, wrapped up in the company of literal criminals, and his mother's been dead since he was eight (well, we know she isn't dead, but he doesn't). His guard goes back up, and he goes back to being Wylan Hendriks, the demolitions expert keeping a privileged past and childhood traumas close to his chest, the boy who was desperate enough to start playing criminal with a band of thugs and thieves.

I love that we're getting focus on Chris Rodriguez early in the TV show, so that we have time to get invested in him before he a) betrays the camp and b) is driven so insane that only Dionysus can cure him. Knowing him beforehand will also make his relationship with Clarrisse, friendship and romance, feel more interesting.

What other cool, fun, not-heartbreaking characters will the show give more attention and depth? Silena Beauregarde? Charlie Beckendorf? Micheal Yew? Castor and Pollux? I can't wait!

Summary of my personal favorites:

A Krang ship (the first Krang on earth) crashed into the Crying Titan. Empeyreum is the Krangs fuel. It mutated the Yokai and gives them their power.

Future Mikey is in his 70s

The Foot Recruits transformed in the movie are still Krang soldiers/slaves. Additionally, Casey and Cassandra would’ve traveled the world disposing of remaining Krang and Foot clan members.

The mystic weapons the boys found in Draxum’s lair don’t come with powers they just helped the boys unlock what was already within them.

Leo still has his mystic powers in the movie opening

Leo would’ve gone with Casey through the portal, but his injuries would not have allowed him to survive.

Raph’s height in the future (had he been featured) would’ve been 6’6”. Leo is roughly 6’ and Donnie would’ve been a little taller. Mikey would grow taller but shrunk due to mystic overuse.

The turtles have been exposed to the world as hero’s post movie, so living in the shadows isn’t really an option anymore.

Two missing sisters were meant to be explored. One being Big Mamas henchman who would’ve been ridiculously serious, and the other was trapped in another dimension all this time.

Mikey is Raph’s fav and Leo is Donnie’s. But all the boys have a deep respect for Raph.

Big Mama is the most powerful person in the Hidden City.

Raph was a kitten for Halloween. Mikey was a Lion, Leo was a rock star and Donnie dressed as Oppenheimer.

Why is everyone threatening @neil-gaiman for a happy ending? Come on guys let the man work, I trust him to make us UGLY CRY a little bit before the REAL happy ending…. (*sits in the floor waiting for S3*)
