Why do I have a feeling you had the biggest hyperfixation on how echo location works cause holy suit that's super detailed <- knows nothing about echo location

This is a funny story.....but it's actually based on my experience playing Minecraft. About two years ago I was playing on a server and my old, dying and barely conscious laptop went crazy at some point and stopped showing block textures. They disappeared, but the hitboxes remained. So in a way I was playing being blind, but still seeing all the players and animals. Sometimes through walls. It was very annoying but very interesting. Especially when the other players recognized that I couldn't see anything and started building extra accessibility things. Like railings, steps, and special paths that I could use to reach their houses by orienting myself to the sound of footsteps on the material of the path.

...yeah I also know almost nothing about echolocation ._.

After a couple more freak outs and everyone situating Mikey in the sofa chair with a million and one more blanket, things start to calm down. And near the end of the night the boys gathered their stuff for a sleepover on the floor, but nobody really seems like they are going to sleep and nobody really has anything to say. Raph lays on his stomach hugging a pillow and a couple stuffed animals while he stares at Mikey. Donnie sits up against the chair, scrolling through his phone. Leo makes his way into the chair with Mikey, just wanting to hold his little brother for a moment. Feel his heart beat, memorize it. Just in case. Mikey looks down, not really returning the cuddle, trying to tune out the concerned stares and thoughts of inevitable death. Leo looks out, and the longer he sits there, feeling Mikey’s breath and heart seemingly work like normal, the angrier he gets.

He lets out a whisper, barely audible but everyone hears it, “You shouldn’t have saved me.”

“Leo!” Raph sits up, “don’t say that!”

“Why not? It’s true. You heard what Draxum said.”

“This isn’t about you,” Raph says. He thought they were over this.

“I know! It’s about Mikey. If he hadn’t opened that portal, none of this would be happening. Mikey wouldn’t be dying!” He cried.

“We’re going to find an answer. Mikey is not going to die!”

“You don’t know that. None of us know anything about this!” Leo curled into himself, “when I ran into that portal with the single worst monster ever, I was prepared to die. I thought-“ Leo choked. “Mikey doesn’t deserve this.”

“And you do?” Donnie chimed in.

“I caused the end of the world, Donnie!”

“You also saved it. In both timelines. Sending Casey back gave us our best chance. You gave us our best chance. I don’t think that means you deserve to die.”

“I-“ Leo couldn’t find the words.

“I wouldn’t take it back,” Mikey spoke up, and all the brothers looked over. “I’m prepared too, Leo. And I don’t regret it. We have more time, to figure it out, or spend together. Let’s not fight anymore. Please.” Mikey squeezed Leo into a hug, and neither let go.

The lair settled back into silence, though the tension was raised a little bit higher.

“Let’s just, get some sleep. We’ll look for more answers tomorrow,” Raph said, settling back onto his stomach and pile of pillows.

“It’s not like we can go back,” Donnie settled back onto his phone, “even if we want to.”

“Sleeeep,” Mikey said, waving his arm, while trying his best to do so. Leo continued to hold Mikey, and stare out at the wall, still trapped in his thoughts. He wasn’t going to let anything happen to his little brother. To his team. Not again.
