Deku refusing to pass out because Tomura needs to be healed and he's afraid no one will heal him but kill him while he's knocked out.
Deku still using blackwhip to keep his body in one piece as he guards Tomura's body, shaking from the strain, still refusing to leave his side.
Deku who cannot explain all he saw in their shared memories yet because he's still processing all the grief and hatred and trauma, he's still struggling to understand the man before him. He is the same man who ruined his life and got people he loved killed, the same that had made him suffer again and again. He is the kid he needed to save, the kid no one else cared about. He's all of those things and more and Deku is way too tired right now to do anything except promise they'll have another chance. A tomorrow.
Ochako who hugs Toga to her own body, covered in both their blood. Ochako screaming to get her a transfusion because Toga used almost all her own blood to keep Ochako alive. Ochako who won't let Toga out of her sight after all they went through, because she doesn't want Toga to wake up alone and confused.
Ochako who can't tell anyone how it felt to float in the sky with Toga while they exchanged a part of themselves, how it feels to have Toga's blood on her veins keeping her alive, how it feels to wake up to her own face lying next to her knowing now how much Toga admires her.
Ochako who cleans Toga's face as much as she can and thinks of braiding Toga's hair after taking a nap (she says). Toga is really pretty, even more when she smiles genuinely and she's not trying to murder everyone around her.
Shouto who panics as soon as he wakes up, afraid of it all being a dream. He's dazed from sleep and he doesn't call Dabi either of his names when he asks for him. No, he says " where is my brother? " and Natsuo next to him knows who he's asking form immediately. Their brother is back home.
Shouto who becomes insufferable until they take him to see Dabi, who sits next to him and looks at him, really looks at him for the first time maybe in his whole life. Finally, all his family in one room. No one being isolated, no one being rejected, no one crying tears of anger or fear or frustration. Even when they are all tired and hurt, Shouto has never felt happier. He really really wanted to bring Touya home. He wanted to give him a chance to heal.
Shouto who can't wait to ask Touya if he likes cold soba. Shouto who sits there and catalogues the damage and wonders how he survived so many years alone in the streets. Shouto who memorizes the scars and burns, who counts the staples, who looks at his own hair and then Dabi's. How can he explain the mental image he got of hugging the child version of his big brother while they were fighting? How can he even begin to explain why he believes so much in the criminal who hurt his friends and killed thousands and wanted to end their family? Who to explain his family, at all?
Class 1A taking turns watching over the villains to offer some reassurance to their friends. Most of them are unable to understand what's going on in their heads, some are wisely unwilling to ignore all the damage those villains caused them. In the end though, they trust Deku, Ochako and Shouto and if they want the villain trio alive and well, they will guard them up with their lives so that the heroes can rest.
Bakugo who should be dead by all means, but who wakes up and forces his way up to Deku and Tomura and sits there, telling Deku to accept the medical treatment. He killed AFO, he's not going to allow Tomura to escape or get hurt. Deku can rest, he can trust him. They'll be there when he wakes up. Even after all Tomura did to Bakugo, he owns Deku and he trusts Deku and he'd do that for him a million times if necessary.
Iida who sits next to Dabi to monitor him, because Shouto must stay in bed and stop making the trip up to his brother's hospital room. Iida who lived it with Tensei once, so he goes and tells all the news (or the lack of them) to Shouto. Iida who tells his friends that everything will be alright, that they'll figure it out, Iida who reassures Shouto and tries to distract him by talking where and when and how he'll take Touya to eat cold soba.
Tsuyu who might not be a big fan of Toga, but her friend is barely conscious and for whatever reason she refuses to let Toga's side. Tsuyu who promises to take good care of Toga, who carries her on her back for a while, who remembers all the terrible things and can't understand the fondness in her friend's face when she looks at the villain, but she respects it anyway. No matter what, Ochako can be sure they'll take care of it. She doesn't have to fear anymore. She can go to sleep.
The villains who wake up warm and safe for the first time in many many years. When was the last time they woke up with someone watching over them? They were convinced they'd be murdered in their sleep and yet... They're getting treatment. Clean clothing. They're bathed. When was the last time someone cared to give them medicine to lessen their pain? Although their first instinct is to run, when the person watching over them realizes they're awake, it's immediately pandemonium. They are screaming for Deku, Ochako and Shouto and there are people running and so many voices.
Deku, Ochako and the Todorokis who rush to their side. Never again will they have to face the world all alone. Deku reminds Tomura that he has been saved, he waited for 15 years, but it's finally over. Ochako tells Toga how pretty she is and yes, they are friends and there are still consequences, but she will be there, they'll be there for them. Touya wakes up to his family and isn't that funny? The last time he woke up in a hospital, he thought he was dead. He had to run away soon after burning it to the ground, but now there they are, gathered around him, crying, relieved, a bit scared and a lot concerned. They are looking at him, really looking at him. It breaks him. He had given up on that particular dream the day he burned.

Dekus no good, very bad, faceplant into masculinity and internalized homophobia
I made this a thought post from chapter 402 originally, but I can’t let these thoughts fester any longer. Gotta be correct about it 🫶🫶🫶
Alright so when I originally talked about this on a couple of platforms (not just tumblr, tiktok too and a bit on Twitter that has no connection to this account lmao) I feel like people told me that I was “stretching” with my assumptions.
But then Toga’s backstory being told to Ochako was… directly referenced to a queer allegory. And in 394, she directly says that she likes girls. It’s the thing said last, implying it’s something she’s still ashamed of feeling.
Tumblr media
This chapter basically confirmed in my mind that Himiko’s blood quirk was the equivalent to the homophobia that was probably in her own household. And in my mind, that means that blood quirk = metaphor on her queer experience.
And then suddenly, the pieces clicked into place.
In 348, Izuku disagrees with Himiko and Ochako’s ideals—not only at the idea of girly romance, but also at unconventional romance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ochako has distanced herself due to Izuku’s inability to confront his own feelings. Shown both physically and metaphorically.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ochako took all the steps to walk away because from Izuku. Because Izuku held her back.
Or more rather, she realized that Izuku was no allmight, but rather just an average boy in need of saving as anyone else. He is someone who’s flaws cannot align with Ochako’s own ideals for a relationship.
Because ochako is weird.
Tumblr media
Izuku holds her back. She can’t be everything she needs to be while around him.
And that’s something Izuku’s not going to understand, not like how she needs him to understand.
Tumblr media
And Himiko knows who Ochako is on a more fundamental level than Izuku ever will, and that’s okay.
I feel like whenever I talk about these character flaws having to do with Izuku, it almost sounds like I’m bashing him? I swear, I’m not, it makes complete sense as to why he is this way. And there are people (Katsuki) in the world who can have this in a relationship under the right communication, and some people can’t. And that’s just how we exist. That’s okay. We don’t all have to be compatible with everyone.
Back to the main point, the pieces and the people putting those pieces together were starting to see their parallels.
Tumblr media
Even the manga placement parallels them, especially with how clever I feel horikoshi can be with his paneling.
Looking down, looking up. Both three quarter angles. Small mouth expression, big mouth expression. And that blush.
Fake smile when unhappy. Falling for someone who is dying, who you’d do anything for, even toe the line of death defending them, fixing them—just because you can’t help but love someone you wish had walked into your life sooner (or in Izuku’s case, accepted into your life sooner).
Someone you’d sacrifice for. Someone you’re violent for. Someone you’d kill for.
Someone you’d rather let an entire population of people die for than live without.
Someone you’re undeniably, unequivocally, selfish for.
And yet Izuku doesn’t recognize his same symptoms of love through Himiko Toga as Ochako does.
Himiko must be dehumanized to Izuku, because if she’s a person, then she is him.
Tumblr media
(What’s even more interesting about this panel, is that if the characters were reversed and it was about Izuku’s violent feelings over protecting Katsuki, danger sense would be going off constantly. So toga is the perfect counter, but Izuku is the ultimate weakness.)
So, okay, how exactly do these things matter? How does this have to do with Izuku’s own personal struggle over his masculinity?
I think what’s important to clarify here is that when I say “internalized homophobia”, I don’t mean that he necessarily is beating himself up over the fact that he likes a boy instead of a girl.
I think it’s connected to his fear of rejection, and his own personal issues having to do with remaining a “strong man” instead of a “weak man”.
Izuku may not believe that liking men is anyone’s business but his own, but does Katsuki think that?
Izuku has called his feelings of admiration gross. Not that he himself is an awful person for feeling them, but that Katsuki will be the one to think they’re gross. And he’s worked so hard to get to this point in their relationship, he doesn’t wanna let it go over some stupid feelings.
And this is where toga comes into the picture, his parallels between her, because just how is Toga supposed to know that Ochako isn’t judging her for her feelings? Technically, all of the things she’s said before the final fight between them have only proved the inevitable. That Toga is gross, a freak, a predator, a danger, because she loves a woman.
How is Izuku supposed to interpret being called a stalker by Katsuki? How is he supposed to interpret when people call him creepy for his muttering and analyzation? How is he supposed to interpret being called a crybaby by his idol, Katsuki, and everyone else when he cannot control that?
How can he handle feelings that are out of his control, and still believe that they’re okay?
And at the very least, even if homophobia doesn’t exist in mha, heteronormativity does. Especially shown through Ashido, a straight girl.
None of that is necessarily Allmight, Katsuki, or even Ochako’s fault, because of course they’re just teasing him—but it doesn’t change the fact that it affects how he perceives himself.
So when I say that Izuku has problems with internalized homophobia, I mean that he is afraid of how the people around him will perceive him, than a constant feeling of self hatred due to not liking women.
And when I say that his internalized homophobia is an extension of his masculinity, I mean that because he has no confidence in himself and his more vulnerable emotions, he is unable to accept what or who he is. This ofc affects the people around him, like saying that Ochako CANT be weird because she’s just “so amazingly normal” without realizing that he’s just downplaying who she is and what she thinks, or dehumanizing the most openly queer character in the series because it benefits the perception he has of himself, or even silently rejecting Katsuki’s feelings simply out of a need to “control his heart and control his quirk”.
In Izuku’s mind, the only way to keep Katsuki is to not be the weird kid he was in his childhood. In a way, Izuku is still performing for Katsuki.

I’m honestly surprised people think Toga is dying, didn’t get that feeling at all from this chapter 😅 I personally interpreted it as very hopeful, i mean “not going to jail even on Ochako’s terms,” thought that was a bit of foreshadowing right there, but could be wrong. This chapter was lovely, HK really homing in on these chapters!
I see WHY people think she's dead, but it's a very surface and frankly, uncharitable reading of this manga. The only way you could genuinely think she's dead for real is if you absolutely ignored a LOT of messages Horikoshi has been trying to give us about how sacrificing your life as a hero ISN'T the save-all and causes issues down the line. He introduced that idea with NANA way back, where we saw that even if All Might saw her sacrifice as heroic (and I will say I don't know what else she could have done), Kotaro DIDN'T view it that way and it absolutely caused issues later on. Heck, way back with Kota we see that heroes who sacrifice themselves can leave behind lots of problems. I'm trying to say that while it's not a full subversion, Horikoshi HAS been subverting the idea that dying for someone else's sake is noble/redemptive for the entirety of this manga. And he's held on consistently to showing this and I think the final nail in the coffin for this idea of sacrificial death as heroic was the Todoroki plotline. Again, the sacrifice for another's life was Enji's dad's fate and it ended up instilling an awful idea that heroism > fatherhood, and that actually, that Enji could be a good father if he was a "good hero". Again, we see sacrificial, redemptive hero deaths causing issues within the generations left behind. The fact that Enji attempted to "atone" with his own life and Touya's but was STOPPED should have put this to rest because if sacrificing yourself was heroic, Horikoshi would have killed Enji (and Touya) off. He did not. There are no sacrificial deaths coming as far as I can see. Horikoshi is challenging that notion to begin with. Toga is not dying here because it absolutely means Ochako has FAILED, like Keigo did, in saving her plot-assigned villain. I understand the poetic nature of being able to choose your own fate that people think Toga has done, but I think it's, again, Toga not seeing a future for herself where she can be happy. Ochako, or some other hero, needs to do something to make sure that smile STAYS on Toga's face. That's why her story isn't over.

Extremely belated MHA 392 leak reactions:
Young Himiko’s parents thought she wasn’t normal, so they tried to use quirk counseling to force her to fit in. Sounds a lot like the Aoyamas.
Except the Togas repeatedly say their daughter is not normal until they reach their breaking point and say she’s not human. Holy shit, denying their CHILD’S humanity to her face is a whole new level of horror. Toya’s parents denied him attention and Tomura’s parents denied him his dreams, but Himiko’s parents denied her existence as a person.
It makes me so sad that Himiko felt she wanted to drink blood and nobody else does. That just can’t be true! We know Stain licks blood and Vlad King can manipulate his own blood, so even if Himiko’s quirk is a mutation or rare, there have to be others out there. That’s the quirk counseling she needed.
Himiko remains haunted by the “mask” she wore, which broke when she killed her middle school crush, Saito (who looked like Izuku). She was then forced to run away from home. In other words, inside Himiko’s head, she’s agreeing with her parents that the “real” mask-less Himiko is a killer. A monster. She loves being full of love, but she’s resigning herself to being a villainous inhuman. She tried to escape what she is and be free but got “caught” (her greatest fear) by her lack of humanity.
Okay, I really wasn’t expecting Kamui Woods to pop up again. Definitely not on my bingo card!!
Clones of Tsu and Jiro appear, meaning the Twices aren’t JUST Twices. They’re clones of Toga-as-Twice and can independently drink blood and transform?!?!???
The real Tsu explains to Himiko what Ochako is trying to do. Tsu even reflects on her pre-Kamino behavior that she later recanted. Himiko may not realize it, but Tsu is saying that righteous feelings DO matter. Damn the man, save Empire Records Himiko Toga.
Tumblr media
Then Tsu says that understanding is harder than arresting or killing people. I’m excited for the official translation here, and I’m hoping Tsu is saying that BOTH heroes and villains are wrong.
Himiko doesn’t listen and just stabs Ochako, making her spit blood. However, Himiko doesn’t seem to delight in seeing bloody Ochako the same way she swooned over bloody Izuku. That’s how we know something is very, very wrong. Himiko says she doesn’t feel the same joy as everyone else, and it sounds like she’s completely lost her lust for life.
I’m aware there some fandom swirl? Controversy? Over a panel of Himiko grabbing Ochako. Idk, I won’t look until Sunday, so I’m not weighing in on that rn.

The world in which Toga survives...A single chance!!
In chapter 395, when Toga was looking around the destruction she has single handedly caused, we also see Tsu, Jirou, Tiger and Kamui woods lying nearby. They're not dead per say but extremely exhausted and who wouldn't be after being trampled by the tsunami of SMP.
Tumblr media
We know that Tsu, Ochako and Hawks share the same Blood Type, so maybe Tsu could just wake up and stop Toga from donating all her blood to Ochako.
This is the only chance where I can see Toga surviving.
Because even in the Todoroki family arc, Shouto just came in at the last minute and the whole chaos wouldn't have been sorted out if it weren't for the entire Todoroki family to show up.
The final confrontation was always about Shouto and Dabi, but the family support was also needed.
Tumblr media
Just like with the TogaChako arc, the main confrontation was between Ochako and Toga but other people will be needed to save Toga and who could be a better person than Tsu?
Ochako is Tsu's best friend and she is literally dying. Plus she also saw Toga sacrificing herself for Ochako, so maybe Tsu could just come in the clutch and be the final nail in the coffin.
It would be a very good conclusion to Tsu's arc as well because she started out as a Standard Everyday Hero, following all rules and seeing those who are not following them as villains but now she would give her blood to save a so-called villain, i.e. Toga.
We have already seen that Tsu was willing to confront Toga, because Ochako wanted to sort it out with a path of Understanding but what about Tsu's POV?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think Tsu will volunteer to save both Ochako and Toga! She has already been a big part of this story for a long time.
It would be a great way to show how far she has come!
Then just like Aoyama, maybe Toga can join UA.
What is the best place where she could live, without the fear of harassment or being killed? That's UA!!
Plus, Shinzo was also going to join the Hero Course right? Shift Shinzou to class 1B and add Toga to class 1A. This way both classes will have equal students!
Plus, with all the Toga merchandise with her wearing a school uniform and also the RECENT ANNIVERSARY ART!!
Tumblr media
They were all wearing the same themed costume as Toga!! This could be such a big foreshadowing!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She will JOIN UA!! Horikoshi planned it from the start!!
She could just share a room with Chako and they will have a fun girls night every now and then.
Tumblr media
Chako would tell her more about her family and I think Ochako's parents would love Toga! Why don't they just adopt her already?
Tumblr media
Plus, Ochako will always make sure no one harasses or bullies Toga. They can also have those girl chats and go to places together. Ochako is basically Toga's babygirl and Toga loves to dress up Ochako.
Tumblr media
So they go shopping together and get lots of stuff! Ochako does a lot of hero work, so that she doesn't run out of money to buy stuff for Toga.
Now Ochako has one more person she wants to provide with a better life❤️
Cheers! Sunshine!

I have mixed feeling about certain ppl entering the fight
On one hand I want a origin trio moment on the other bakugo has already done alot and has fainted twice while todoroki I feel like should do more (I don't really know why he fainted considering he didn't get to injured fighting dabi maybe bc of the mental toll?) and should have an op fight scene and power up (also I'm curious what afo would say to shoto considering what he has said to endeavor)
I also don't like the idea of everyone gathering to help like certain ppl sure but if you start putting in pros then the spotlight being on first year's isnt convincing like yes their strong but to the pint of completely outshining pros? But then again I don't want to see a bunch of pros idc about fighting
I'm really just hoping this fight ends soon bc it's really getting dragged out 😭
Yeah, I fully understand that many people wanted this fight to be Deku vs Shigaraki to turn to Deku + Shigaraki vs AFO. Or that only Class A shows up.
But in the end, what is happening is thematically sound. On the one hand AFO vs OFA - if we talk about quirk power - is their logical conclusion. AFO found home in a new host, one that's capable of accruing more power. OFA on the other hand, grew beyond it's physical vessels and has become more of an idea of heroism - one that Deku embodies and one can be chosen by anyone. A true network of power.
But as much as AFO is at the source of Tenko's misery, Shigaraki's criticism of hero society stands valid. Hero society didn't make him a villain, but did nothing to save him either. So while Deku went to the extremes to save him, a sole pillar can't do everything. Which is why it's important for Tenko to see not only that a hero has come, but that the society he hated so much for its passivity has all shown up for him. Not just heroes, but even civilians pitching in.
Now, I'd be very surprised of course if this one wave of heroes could end the fight - we are clearly starting with some of the weaker / less combat oriented heroes and students. On top of that, if they kill Shigaraki's body - how can he be saved? So I feel like the fighting will be to hold AFO away from Izuku until his time is up again, but not to kill him. Just like Shouto needed his family's help to stop Dabi, how Ochako needed a lot of support to reach Toga, how Katsuki needed everyone who protected, revived him and every blow dealt at AFO to be successful, it makes sense for Deku to also need the support.
It's a test of Deku's faith of whether Tenko can still be saved and everyone else's faith in Deku's judgement and moral code. Tenko will probably awaken to see so many hands reach for him.
As for Shouto:
Yes, he's not injured. The story emphasised however that Phosphor is an incredible burst of power, but comes at a cost of stamina drain. His first Phosphor blast froze over an entire citiblock that was on blazing hot fire. His second blast neutralized a nuclear bomb, the size of 5 kms. Not to mention that he was continuously using ice and fire during the mad dash with Iida from Kamino to Gunga. So he probably passed out from overexerting his quirk. And I'd say based on what we've seen in Ch 351, he may not just countered Touya's blast, but may have absorbed it.
I wouldn't be a least bit surprised to see Shouto come out of it with a quirk upgrade.
I'm like 99% confident that he will show up, and we will get some further closure on the Todo-fam plot, possibly also a quirk combo with Endeavor AND Touya. (Because I still think Spinner, Toga, Dabi, Compress showing up at the battlefield would help awaken Tenko - who just proclaimed himself the hero of the villains).
Now, how short or long his highlight might be - only Hori knows that - but I think we will get at least one big highlight move from Shouto that serves as some kind of cap of the family plot. If we are lucky, we may get an actual hero name chapter, like Katsuki got GEMGD after his "Rising".
As for Katsuki, I just can't really imagine Hori not bringing him in if everyone showed up. He spent 90% of his endgame brooding over Izuku, and Izuku had a hot minute of rage about his death, plus the catapult move - but they haven't really interacted truly. Bakugou hasn't interacted with anyone from the class either. So I think Hori knows that those are moments fans want and he will deliver them.
He's spent a lot of time with the pros he cares about - Endeavor, Hawks got ton of content, Hawks lost his quirk - so for both of them, I expect more emotional closure than big fights. All Might is probably done fighting, but again, he had no scene with Deku yet - so I think he'll be back too. The rest of them, I expect mostly on the background - like they were at Gunga, at Kamino, Floating UA etc. And for the kids to get the highlights.
It's very unpredictable how many chapters are left - Aizawa just announced the start of "Phase 3". I think Phase 1: was Ch 343-379 - so about 36 chapters from the initial division, until Deku and Shigaraki left the Floating UA. Phase 2: 380- 419 was 39 chapters. Now only Hori knows how long Phase 3 will be, but I note that Deku still hasn't even had a Rising chapter.
I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Ochako is Different
(Current Chapter Spoilers) It’s a little early to make this but I had to.
Tumblr media
‘If Toga still wants to talk to her, she’s willing to give her her own blood for the rest of her life.’
“I want to talk about love with you, himiko-chan!”
‘She won’t support everything she does from now on’
‘The world isn’t ideal (comfortable?) for people like her’
Tumblr media
It’s almost exactly what I wanted, but it’s still totally perfect.
This Chapter is great for Toga and Ochako, and perfect for Ochako’s development.
In fact I’d say that this puts Ochako over the top of what’s been shown to be heroic in bnha.
Because while Ochako doesn’t really side with Toga fully, which is understandable from her point of view but she does pretty much say that Toga won’t be killed or locked up to rot because of the promise she makes to her.
This implies a long term plan/commitment and freedom, the first part obviously stated that neither Ochako or Toga herself want her death and the second part because there’s no way Toga would ever accept such a thing from inside a cage.
“Living Free” being an essential part of Toga’s character that wouldn’t just be ignored and doesn’t seem to be on Ochako’s viewpoint, with her saying:  ‘She won’t support everything she does from now on’
“From now on” implying Toga will have the freedom to choose.
This answer from a hero to a villain might really change things, or at least have the intent to change beginning here.
Ochako’s answer feels big enough for that, not only in her direct relationship with Toga but also on a much wider scale in her clearly stating that: The World isn’t ideal/comfortable for people like Toga.
This along with everything else she said makes her the best Hero in this series.
Even out of the Core Three Heroes.
Shoto Todoroki, a good, focused Hero, succeeding in everything he set out to do in bnha’s story, and also succeeded in becoming exactly the type of hero he wanted to be.
Be a Hero that puts others at ease? Nailed it.
Be like his friends who get mad and shed tears for others? Got it.
Protect his family and others? Even Dabi in a way? Total Victory.
A Perfect Score for Shoto, also his family, and all the innocent people that he saved.
But that’s it.
Shoto still hasn’t taken any kind of wider view on Dabi/Endeavor/his family or hero society, even though he’s had more than enough time to think about it.
He never came to the larger realization that: “Hmm, actually the fact that Endeavor was able to buy Mom like a broodmare, consult with doctors plainly about his intentions regarding his children, have one of them literally die, another be clearly scarred and his wife sent to a mental institution and yet despite all that…no one (Hero/Government/Civilian) says or does shit…that might be a problem too?”
Shoto is definitely a Hero; he’s just not quite seeing the big picture when he really needs to.
Deku on the other hand isn’t even close.
Because while he does inspire others, he has yet to actually help them himself.
Gentle criminal, Lady Nagant and Overhaul are all ‘Villains’ that Deku has interacted with and changed but, when talking about direct actions, he never helped any of them or even acknowledged their negative points about hero society other than giving a single platitude.
Gentle Criminal had heroic aspirations from the start, despite being hurt multiple times by hero society; he still chose to do the right thing.
Whether or not that really works out for him in the end is yet to be seen but he still did it, and on his own.
Deku never tried to help Gentle or even find out what happened to him or La Brava after their fight, despite emphasizing with him and their struggles.
Nagant was in some way, like Gentle, inspired by Deku, just in her case it was taken to a somewhat unbelievable degree.
“Extend a helping Hand” is not an answer to the fact that hero society was assassinating innocent people who threatened the status quo.
But Nagant is fighting on the hero side now so I guess it was answer enough for her.
But from a wider story perspective Deku didn’t address anything.
Overhaul is one of the darkest villains in the series, with what he did to Eri.
But Deku still made him a promise, to bring Overhaul to his ‘Father’ (figure) if he was willing to regret what he did.
He didn’t.
I mean, if we had jumped right into the next war in only a few moments after this point then I would understand Deku not having enough time to make good on his word but there was a lot of down time in-between.
Was Deku actually serious about the no-armed cripple Overhaul having to regret his actions before he was taken to see his comatose Father?
That’s kind of messed up when you really think about it.
Was Deku planning on doing it anyway, just at some undetermined point in the Future?
We don’t know, it was never brought up again.
It makes anything that Deku’s going to say to Shigaraki seem a bit Hollow because there’s no past foundation to hold up his word to, on a personal or societal level.
Vague promises on top of other promises that haven’t been fulfilled is not a good look for a Hero.
While it is true that this may change later, it may lack impact and believable commitment, coming in a bit late on Shoto’s part and with Deku’s loyalty to hero society at odds with everything Shigaraki is.
But Ochako isn’t like that.
Ochako
She recognized that there was a problem (though eventually) after seeing clear signs of it and looked at everything involved.
Toga’s Quirk and her tears, how she felt about love and the world around her.
Also with her experience in dealing with the “innocent” people at UA high and how they treated Deku.
Have to believe that too had an effect on her decision and reasoning to try to understand Toga, in how she was made a villain currently.
She may not really understand Toga in everything, but Ochako is still saying all the right things, addressing what she knows about Toga and how society has treated her.
No other hero has done that yet and followed through.
Because Ochako didn’t just say: “You have a point, but you know morality.” Then try to punch Toga in the face or overpower her into submission.
She said: “You have a point, but you know morality, so I will personally help you in the way you need.”
Immediately trying to do just that and saying she’ll continue to in the future.
‘If Toga still wants to talk to her, she’s willing to give her her (Ochako’s) own blood for the rest of her life.’
That’s a Hero. And what a real Hero would do.
It really was just that simple of someone offering her Blood, that specific someone showing that they cared and telling Toga that she wasn’t a monster or a deviant.
And Toga accepting Ochako’s feelings would make sense as this is everything she ever wanted-
BUT-
The only hang up is how Ochako would then deal with Hero Society after this, because they are definitely not going to be on board with her choice, even though it’s part of the only option/path forward that could save their world.
And with the inherent flaws/corruption in the hero system and the Quirk Singularity, Ochako’s choice is undeniably the start of the only path that could save bnha’s world.
So yeah Ochako is actually doing Amazing so far.

Aren't the villains just as dismissive? Tbh I don't think there is any way of getting through to the villains even if they shown empathy. I hope I'm wrong though but this is the final arc and nobodies stance has changed and I don't see it changing but fingers crossed that things will change but I think there needs to half way meeting between both sides before things begin moving forward if it does.
It's true that the villains aren't stepping down from their points, but it's not on them to do that. The villains are not the ones responsible for the social injustice of their system. They are canonically a minority that the HPSC has repeatedly tried to silence with state-sanctioned assassinations.
And while it's also true that there needs to be a middle ground somewhere (the villains cannot be saved so long as they keep killing and the heroes can't save so long as they kill their targets), please note that the ones actively seeking a dialogue here are the villains.
Dabi's broadcast was aimed at people thinking more critically about the blind trust they put in heroes. He wanted them to ask heroes for more accountability in his stead, because he knew heroes would never listen to him. He didn't just want justice for himself or he would've simply killed Endvr. He wanted a fairer society to stop people like Endvr from doing what he did for two decades and getting away with it.
Shigaraki made a whole speech on the battlefield of the first war about how heroes constantly trample over the individuals for the sake of an abstract greater good. He addressed how thinking only of the masses creates pockets of evil under the heroes' noses. Shigaraki's whole shtick is that he was kidnapped and groomed by a supervillain because he was left wandering the streets for days, bloodied and traumatized, and the heroes of his neighborhood had so many bigger fishes to fry that they never noticed he needed help too.
And though we might argue that as an adult he's now vowed to cause indiscriminate destruction without dialogue because that's what AFO groomed him for, we can also argue that when Shigaraki is not directly under his abuser's influence, he makes choices that show us he actually does want that dialogue. Remember, he seeked out Deku at that mall and explained his whole villain manifesto to him. He told Deku all about how their society functions on this search for an abstract greater good and ignores individual in immediate danger. And he demonstrated it, too. He had deadly fingers on Deku's throat and no one blinked twice or stepped in to investigate, because "heroes would deal with it". He wanted Deku to acknowledge this. This is such a hangup of his that he brings it up again in the war arc as well. And no has given him an appropriate response still.
Then there's Toga, and she's the one who most clearly proves this. The heroes' argument is that they can't listen to the points presented to them because the villains hurt their friends. So long as the villains don't own up to their crimes, they say, that sours any good argument they might've had. Which is hypocritical as hell. The heroes also killed Toga's best friend and refused accountability for it. In fact, they let Hawks stay a hero.
Yet, despite all this, Toga was still able to put her grief in a box and set it aside for ten minutes, and seeked out Uraraka to attempt a dialogue anyway. A villain, who the heroes keep referring to as an immature, hedonistic and selfish freak, had more emotional maturity than any of them. She went to Uraraka to understand what a villains' life is worth to heroes. Ochako's response confirmed her suspicion; to their society, Jin wasn't human enough to deserve compassion. His death served the greater good, so it doesn't matter if he left friends behind, if people cared about him. It doesn't matter if heroes hurt Toga's friends, but it's a death sentence if Toga hurts the heroes' friends.
So.
Why should the villains act less dismissive? They tried fitting in and it didn't work. They tried setting out a conversation with heroes and it also didn't work. What the heroes wanted from them is what hero society always wanted from any disturbance to the status quo—either take it in silence, or to get erased as a threat.
The villains are literally fighting for their lives here, meanwhile the heroes are just fighting to maintain their privileges. It's not even remotely a fair fight. That's why it's on the heroes to change their attitude first

What is the difference between a "good person" and a "human being"?
okay ! I just went to X and came across a message saying something like, "The Story of Ochako Toga It's an indication that Hawks is wrong," with the extension sentence saying, "Because Hawks refused to understand him and his friends (LOV), Twice refused to change sides. It's different from Ochako trying to understand Toga.
okay…? Trying to understand a serial killer in a case of serial bloodshed. and both committed crimes as a minor Until now during the war She was probably 18 years old, which required her to deal with the law like an adult. By Ochako said "The cutest thing in the world" and Toga cries with joy and smiles. Even though she can smile like a human being No need to smile like a ghost. And that's all to say that Hawks are at fault for not understanding.
And now onto the topic I raised. "What is the difference between a "good person" and a "human being"? What is separating Both of these things? A good person is a person who loves friends. Never leave friends, always loyal? With humans, is love, greed, anger, delusion, resentment? If humans weren't that good Can we just be good people? Even though that means “People who are not my friends. Whether it's good or bad doesn't matter, okay?"
and Toga's words that "I don't know what draws the line. Isn't Jin-kun a person?" Girl! What draws the line? Her victim will bleed to death because she "loves" him, by sucking his blood all over because I love (kill) him. Even though I will be happy Can she answer the question?
And we return to Twice and Hawks. I won't say that Hawks killing Twice was right. Because it's like shouting at the wall. Criminal families know that His lover has broken the law (murder, theft, terrorism, etc.). and think that the person who kills their loved one is wrong Think about those psychotic murderers who have fans who love their work. Worshiped as God and said The government has arrested the wrong person, or the police who killed him were at fault.
What classifies what Twice did as a good thing because he helped his friend? people he knows With Hawks choosing to save a life he didn't know. What is the line that separates these two people in their being "human"? Hawks acknowledged that Twice was a "good person" because he loved his friends. and is loyal to his friends, something Hawks cannot do. Hawks couldn't do that. Because he doesn't know what "love" and loyalty are like. Damn it, look at his parents. Hawks tries to help Twice. But I have to quote one thing. "You can't help people who don't want to be helped."
How can you help someone who doesn't want to help themselves? You can't help people who don't think their actions are wrong. Because my friends see it too. It must be a good thing. Murder, theft, terrorism, kidnapping, etc. Because my friends, this is the right thing to do. When the hand that is extended is not accepted Moreover, they brought in an army of clones hoping to trample their opponents to death. Someone has to get their hands dirty. Even though we've known each other Sometimes help is the best. is death as well
Hori, did you know that this can make your manga interesting? But I know you don't because you care more about Bakugou.

I love that every time Ochako and Deku talked about saving Toga and Tomura, they explicitly said that they couldn't forgive them for hurting so many people, including their friends.
But they still wanted to save them.
They had a whole conversation about how it was super weird. Shouldn't they want them dead? It was paralleled with Shouto saying he wanted to know what Touya's favorite food was, with Iida and Bakugo contributing to it.
The kids feeling a bit guilty because they want to help people in need, no matter what. It all being right before the reveal that Aoyama was the UA traitor, when class 1A decides that they wanted a future with Aoyama in it even after all he did. The kids slowly realizing that the answer to live a good life is to defuse those situations and find a way for everyone to live and heal on their own time.
When Deku explains that maybe the key is in trying to understand why the villains are doing what they are doing. When Ochako says that she never considered how Toga saw the world or how it could affect the way she attacked; not everyone saw the world like them, which means that not everyone could reach the same conclusions.
When Shouto asked Touya why he never came home and Touya was able to finally tell his story. When the Todorokis reunited to talk together about their family, their past and future. When Rei showed she knew that Touya only wanted to be seen and considered by his dad. When Ochako understood that it was all Toga wanted to, to be considered a person, not a monster. When they all realized that it's not that the League refused to see as much as they couldn't. Their hurt and their trauma kept them anchored in the past, blind to their surroundings, lashing out like a wounded animal to anyone.
Deku explained to the vestiges that he tried to connect with other villains and couldn't because they did not want to. Not everyone wants to be saved, they say. There's a possibility that Tomura doesn't want to be saved. Would you kill him if that's true? And Deku doesn't want to because his powers are not to kill, but to save. He says that he will figure it out if that's the case, but he reaaaally wants to save that crying kid.
From then to now.
To the vestiges sacrificing themselves to open a path to Deku to reach Tenko. To Hawks thinking about what Ochako said about wanting to see everybody smile. To the Todorokis joining forces to stop Touya because it's their responsibility, not only Shouto's.
From a world ruled by assumptions and apathy and misconceptions and violence, to a world that is based on understanding, communication and responsibility.
I love what it all means.

I'm not really a fan of Hawks losing his Quirk to AfO. If it serves any purpose it will probably be used to help Izuku fight AfO in the vestige realm which is a fight I was never looking forward to in the first place. Otherwise I don't think it really serves much purpose for Hawks as a character because we're at the end of the story and we just won't get a big focus on how it effects him going forward.
I mean, I see people saying that him losing his Quirk has set him free from the HPSC but he was essentially free from them after the first War. They have been non-existent in the story since than besides passing mentions. From what the reports said last chapter it seems that all the Heroes fighting are doing so of their own pure desire to help, not because the HPSC is paying them or anything. Keigo isn't working for them and given the world ending stakes if he wanted to do anything but beat AfO it'd be a negative trait, not him finding his freedom.
I know people want Keigo to find himself outside of being a Hero and his Quirk but that doesn't really seem to be a theme in the story. If Hori wanted to tell that story he could have done so with Mirio or All Might but he didn't. Instead Mirio was given his Quirk back with little fan fair and All Might's inspiration and Hero heart was reinforced. The story is about people being Heroes not about themselves as just people.
Which is honestly how I see things going with Hawks. His Quirk will be a force for good that helps Izuku beat AfO from the inside proving that despite his saying his Quirk was dirty, he really did/does have the heart of a Hero.
Also, I do think it takes real Hawks out of the story most likely, which is a bit disappointing, though understandable. I never really understood where people got the idea he was going to have a full mental break down anyway and besides him flipping out because he can't help anymore I still don't really see it happening. I mean, Hori is going at light speed here, why would he take the time to focus on Hawks having a mental break when he hasn't even managed to do that for his main three villains yet, who actually need that for the story to end.
I could easily be proven wrong given that Hori's writing is unpredictable, but for the moment my guess is that Hori did this so he could take Hawks out of the fight so he wouldn't get involved with the Todoroki or Ochako/Toga stuff, while also leaving open the possibility to give Izuku a strong ally in Hawks Quirk if needed.
I know people wanted him in those fights, but Hori has a hard time juggling characters in fight scenes, something we've seen a lot in this arc and the one prior. And to be honest he doesn't serve much purpose in them either. I've seen theories of wanting him try and kill Dabi and being devastated because Enji saves his son, essentially picking Touya over him, but Hawks has been nothing but positive about Enji trying to change and help his family. He didn't try and attack Touya or even mention him when he came through the portal, so don't know why he'd suddenly decide to attack him Quirk or not.
When it comes to Toga/Ochako thing he only complicates it. Yes, he killed Twice, but as we've seen Toga's main problem isn't that Twice was killed, it's that Izuku and Ochako, kids around her age don't like her. She feels like no one cares about her because she has a bad Quirk. If getting revenge for Twice was her main objective than she wouldn't have been crying. She doesn't even think about Hawks or name dropped him to my knowledge. If anything she treats all Heroes as guilty. To add Hawks into this fight draws attention away from Ochako, Toga and her main issue of identity. Plus, again I don't see Hawks being upset if Ochako saves Toga in the way he couldn't save Twice. He liked Twice and did try to save him. At most I think we'd see him watching with a happy smile and some tears, not having a full existential crisis.

What do you think will happen in Toga’s storyline??
Well...
Ochako has made her goal to deal with Himiko so I expect the two to confront each other again (especially since it seems Ochako managed to spot her among the twice clones).
I also expect the meeting to touch the following topics:
Himiko's need to be accepted for who she is and her fear no one will do so.
Finding a way for Himiko to stay who she is that won't harm others
Himiko's fear (which has kind of turned into a belief) the heroes are out to kill her
Himiko's idea that if the heroes are justified in killing her, she's also justified in killing Hawks who killed Jin.
Ochako's love for happy people and how she's probably going to realize even Villains need to be saved by heroes... that some of them wouldn't have been turned into Villains if they had been saved prior to them switching.
Accepting consequences for their actions. If Himiko has to accept consequences for her actions, society and heroes should be bound to the same rules
I think a better flashback to Himiko's past life would be apprecciated. All we know about her is how her parents told her to repress the needs awoken by her Quirk and that, once she allegedly attacked one of her classmates on whom she had a crush, after which she disappeared and ended up being involved in a string of deaths by bloodlettings.
Although there's a vague implication her life wasn't a bowl of cherries, it'll probably help, especially Ochako, to understand how hard it was to live for Himiko, because I'm not sure she has a clear idea of this.
Overall Himiko's plot is tied to empathy, Himiko wants to become others, and Ochako, in order to understand and reach Himiko, has to put herself in her shoes.
If the plot is going to draw parallels with Touya's situation, we might have a situation in which Himiko tries to kill Hawks, and risks to be killed as well, so that Ochako has to save both (the whole stop Touya from killing others but also stop him from killing himself).
Also, always if they keep the parallel, the situation might not get resolved right now.
So far Touya was stopped but wasn't really saved. His family hadn't yet managed to emotionally reach him, just to stop him from exploding (they're working on it).
So, in the same way, the Ochako/Himiko fight might be split in two parts, one in which Ochako stops Toga from killing people and saves her and one in which she confront with her emotionally.
On a personal note, I would like for the league not to just be saved by the heroes but also save each others... and the rest of the world.
The title of chap 341, seems to imply they too, like Gentle and Nagant, have the potential to become heroes but, at this point of the story, aren't there yet.
It would be hard for society to accept them and fix their wrongdoings toward them if society weren't to be shown they weren't irremendable Villains but just people who, as Jin said, were thrown to the wolves and therefore ended up making bad choices and that, if they had been given a better support net, would have instead done good choices.
On another note... I think it's more fitting for the members of the league to try to save the world because in this way they can save each other.
Yes, Touya has a connection with his family and Himiko with Ochako and Tomura with Deku but... they've also connections with each other while they've little connections with the world who rejected them.
All for One is a threat to the members of the league as well.
I'm not so sure they're at a point in which they can try to save the world from All for One... but they could probably try to save each others from him because, in a way, they're the world for each other, the world that accepted them, if this makes sense.
On a very personal note I wonder if Hawks will remember what Jin told him about Himiko, how Himiko was a good person because she wrapped him in her tissue.
Just to make clear... I think it's Ochako the one meant to save/connect with Himiko... but it wouldn't hurt if Hawks got roped in because in a way Hawks and Himiko are connected to each other by their relation with Jin and by how Hawks is unrepentant on his killing of Jin, in fact we see as soon as he sees Himiko as Twice he tells everyone they should kill her... and I think for Hawks' development and for him to become the hero he's meant to be, facing this is important as well.
So the plot might expand to include him. And, I think, Tsuyu is probably meant to play a supporting role as well, through likely minor than Ochako.
After all one of the themes of the story is that heroes shouldn't do things alone but help each other so it's only fair if Ochako gets help in this.
Sorry, I guess I keep myself pretty vague but it's pretty hard to make precise predictions. Still I hope what I wrote might come of some interest to you! Thank you for your ask!

BnHA FINAL Prediction#01
Tumblr media
Prediction#01
The next chapter starts with Toga finally declaring her villain name and that's the name of the chapter.
Suppose, her name is Bloodlust or Bloody Lily (she is always connected to Spider Lily and blood is the source of her main power)
Either way, this could be another chapter fleshing out Toga as a villain, like we got a glimpse of her childhood and maybe middle school in the previous chapters, so maybe this chapter will show her breaking point.
As someone on Twitter pointed out, she has never killed anyone on screen other than Curious and Co and that was the moment when her quirk evolved.
Tumblr media
She didn't kill the bird in her childhood, she didn't kill Ochako or Bakugo in the forest arc, she didn't kill Camie in the Hero Licence exam, she didn't kill Eraser, and we were never shown that she killed that old lady either (in the war arc)
Most people just assumed she did that because of her nature. Then what was the turning point? We're never shown, but this chapter maybe and maybe that could lead to Ochako understanding her better and coming up with a solution with next chapters focusing on her story.
It goes with the current arc:
Chapter 391: The world that Rejected
Chapter 392: Villain Name
Chapter 393: Bloody Lily
Chapter 394: The world that accepted (Ochako's side of story, to balance things)
Chapter 395: Ochako Uraraka: ORIGINS
Chapter 396: Ochako Uraraka: RISING
Chapter 397: THE URAVITY OF DREAMS AND HOPES
Chapter 398: The two young girls (final conclusion to TOGACHAKO battle)
Chapter 399: Aftermath of TOGACHAKO battle
Chapter 400: Deku vs Shigaraki starts...
.
So, if everything goes well I'm expecting at least 7 more chapters for the TogaChako storyline because unlike other characters whose character arcs were very sorted and full-fledged from the beginning (Shouto, Bakugo and Iida) Horikoshi was saving this battle for the last. We don't know what Ochako will possibly do to reach out to Toga.
Tumblr media
No honey, that's not good enough.
Plus we don't know much about Ochako either, like Toga said "Ochako had an easy life because rules were made for people like her and she didn't need to deal with a single inconvenience" but we know that's far from the truth.
Tumblr media
Ochako had a rough life, her family was poor, she didn't eat her meals to save money. She got into a hero school on her own merit. She became a hero, only to give her parents a proper life.
Tumblr media
She saw her friends crying, teacher dying (midnight) and Ochako is a hero who wants to see everyone smile, and that includes Toga (the little girl whom the world rejected).
Tumblr media
But if she really wants to become the Uravity of her dreams, we need a solid foundation to back it up! Like how Iida wanted to be Ingenium: The hero who will dash to grab the hand of a lost child or Shouto: who wanted to be a reassuring hero like All Might.
Tumblr media
If we want all of this to happen, we need at least 7 back to back chapters!! And that too of at least 15 pages each, since there is still so much we don't know about them.
Plus the Twice Sad Man's Death Parade! Man if that came to a halt in less than 2 chapters, I am going on a rampage!! This death parade is going on for 20+ chapters now!! No way, it can be stopped in just 2 chapters!! Plus, I need a convincing answer as to how this parade will end. How can a single person such as OCHAKO put a stop to this entire army of clones.
Can Toga dying solve this issue? No, I don't think so.
The goal is to save her, not kill her.
Tumblr media
But can toga control her clones?
We don't know that either. So at least 7 more chapters.
Plus we can have our main Deku vs Shigaraki from chapter 400 onwards to 420. Remember, we still have All Might vs AFO and other battles remaining? So maybe the narrative can shift to that too.
Tumblr media
All Might vs AFO can contain glimpses of other battles too that are going on followed by a finale with All Might losing and going to Shigaraki. Then Deku vs Shigaraki, where Bakugo wakes up and they both defeat AFO Shigaraki together, Heroes Rising style putting an end to the story.
Conclusion:
TOGACHAKO battle: ch 390 to 399
All Might vs AFO: ch 400 to 405
Deku vs Shigaraki: ch 405 to 420
Tumblr media
(Here is little Deku for world peace)
~Thanks for reading
Cheers! Sunshine

BNHA 392 - Thoughts
The Touya - Toga parallels are really strong. Not just the image of them crying as children who are not understood by their parents, but also the way they react with jealousy to their hero counterpart having the life they wish they had and the fact that they both focus on the differences ("we turned out to be real different" / "we are built different").
There is also the idea that more than just being annihilated and contained, the hero kids are trying to face their villains (as opposed to Kamui Woods, who seems to contemplate murder?)
Tsu circling back to her post-Kamino realizations that maybe it's not as simple as breaking the rules is what makes you a villain. Tsu talks about her friends in plural. I don't know if she just means Ochako and Izuku, but I hope Shouto is included too. And it will circle back to the notion that Toga thinks Touya was killed, when in fact his family came to see him for real and they were trying to save him.
So I think for Toga to listen fully, it's likely that she'll need to hear from Hawks about Twice, maybe needs to see that Touya is alive and then have her see that Ochako values her as a human being and not as some monster.
If I understand it correctly, now the Twice clones are licking blood to create clones of all the heroes on the battlefield. It's an interesting way to combine Twice's and Toga's abilities - I wonder what's up with that. But the chaos also means Toga can approach Hawks disguised.
I suppose licking Uraraka's blood now, she could go to him pretending to be an injured Ochako. The stomach wound is also reminiscent of Toga's dream back in Ch 341
Tumblr media
It's interesting that the sparrow is revealed to be something that Toga found already dead in the garden. That's where rejection started to lead to suppression and then a spiral and in her dream the bird is the symbol of her self-destruction.
Because the implication seems to be that there is no inherent violence linked to Toga's quirk. She could have satisfied her needs without killing, if people were open to accepting it.
I don't know if Toga will have a villain name. I don't think she ever saw herself as one. But then there was a line that Izuku's rejection turned her into a full-fledged villain. So maybe she will pick something.

MHA CHP 393-394 (Exactly how i thought it'd go) Predictable. #1 BESTSELLER "Let's talk about Romance" by Ochako Uraraka *Spoilers*
Magneto had the Holocaust, fought for his race to have the right to live as human beings. Saw his father die taking bullets for him as his mother & others died in a pit of corpses, only he remained:
Tumblr media
But this one was afraid a boy she liked wouldn't think she was cute, she was told not to smile. MAN she had it rough bros amiright.
Exactly how i thought it'd go, that's how it went.
All that trauma, motivation washed away because someone Talked a good game.
Tumblr media
"Live the way i wanted to-", omfg the sheer entitlement. You hung out with lunatics, because deviancy loves deviants.
Tumblr media
Cutest girl in the world with a body count more than an average Firebender soldier. Think about that lmfao.
Your feelings comes before Justice and accountability, absolute horrendous writing.
Not the message of getting help, outreach and empathy isn't the issue. The execution and very dangerous narrative that you get rewarded affection & understanding for being evil, DESPITE being evil.
All you gotta do is cry, and it'll all be okay.
Your fees fees comes before due process.
Tumblr media
Yes, there are rules Toga, and there are parameters in which you have to behave in society.
That is LITERALLY what separates us from animals that live in their own manure & the blood of their prey: Inhibitions, getting a grip despite instinct.
The world isn't wrong because YOU have a problem.
Don't like it? Unplug, go in the woods, feed at your hearts content.
As long as you're here, get in line, live your best one.
Otherwise, no amount of clones is gonna stop the yield of warhead, trust and believe that.
Asking for people's blood is not fucking normal. You're not a victim because you're the outlier. You need help. Knowing what that boy's reaction would be, means you're the problem. Not the world. Brat.
Cringe, forced, very predictable and yet I get what you're doin Horikoshi. "Outreach", reaching out to a soul instead of punching them into submission.
However, this is a very very dangerous "moral of the story", and i will explain why further on.
The main offense is that it's trivializing trauma and her motivations
Tumblr media
-It oversimplifies what they actually went through, cause it just shows that a lot of these villains weren't all that deep or serious about their motivations if a talk is all it took, makes them look housebroken, weak, fickle. Just pretenders looking for attention and a cookie.
Trauma, meditated goals, all that fighting with the Liberation Army to get where they are, and motivations of that scale just doesn't go away because a mf talked a good rap.
Think about everything her squad did to get to this point. All of that is void now because Ochako accepted her feelings? Huh?
Tumblr media
Every serial killers wet dream, try your best to kill someone & for no reason at all they develop Stockholm syndrome. Fighting tooth & nail to be in your life and heart. Again, for no reason at all or a stupid one.
Ochako being Togas hero, saving her from herself is one thing, and it could work, if she visited her AFTER her little ass went to prison.
Otherwise, in this situation, in canon:
What did Toga actually learn? That she did wrong? That her victims were people too? That people aren't disposable things to consume & throw away when bored?
Tumblr media
Like that old woman everyone forgot about that is likely dead, or not. Maybe she showed up in a random panel later, fact is. Toga doesn't give a crap. All Toga cares about is her fragile little ego.
Tumblr media
Does she show remorse for that old woman she forcefully took blood from? No.
But according to Horikoshi, who are we supposed to feel bad for here: Toga
Toga is the victim, disregard the actual victims, their pain, their tears, disregard all that apparently, because she wants to smile. Straight emotional manipulation by the author, just slap a crying child on the panels and pray that the audience falls for it, ignoring the fact that she doesn't deserve it.
Very dangerous message he's playing with here.
Message "Moral of the story" in question:
Toga learned that her feelings are valid. Togas smile is beautiful. Toga is cute. Toga.Toga.Toga. And Ochako offered to be her blood bank for the rest of her life, IF she talked to her. She offered herself up to be used:
Wooow. 100% reward for Toga, and for what? To talk about herself, and her feelings.
Serial killers wet dream. Toga really lucked out today huh, and all she had to do was get out of bed this morning.
She says she won't validate or ignore the crimes of a criminal (twice, because Horikoshi knows 100% that people will call him out on it so he HAS to make her say that), he's smart.
And yet, she then turns around and validates the criminal instead. And what they learn in the end is that they're a special snowflake, not that ANY of what they did is wrong., nor did they have to confront, or accept accountability for it
Tumblr media
Those tears of Toga are of self-gratification, not remorse or humanity.
Everything that would NOT happen in the wake of every school shooter, terrorist, murderer/ psychopath bottom feeder of society. Toga is just handed everything she doesn't deserve.
All because Ochako saw her cry, ONCE. Zero relation or connection to this little girl.
(This insistence on Ochako's part would actually make more sense if they were sisters, Ex-Girlfriends, or childhood friends. One difference making an entirely different context that makes more sense than this. Ochako saw her cry once, there's no reason for her to be this invested in someone that was/is trying to kill her. Deku's Stockholm syndrome rubbed off on her. Deku & Bakugou all over again. Abusive toxic relationships/dynamics, romanticized over & over again, and all fixed with a bucket of tears. That's all it takes. Welcome to My Hero Academia.)
Translation: Do evil, do wrong, and be rewarded for it with one of your many victims/prey/objects of desire trying their hardest to get you to talk about your feelings. They won't "ignore" what you did buuuut fights their hardest to make it about you, instead of rightfully hating you.
Or bringing you in, so you can get help in a more appropriate setting, with the parents being part of the solution, seeing they were part of Toga's problem in the first place.
Narcissism. Toxic. Sociopath narrative.
Tumblr media
Rewarded for being an evil mf. Toga didn't take accountability, she just wanted to smile, be called cute and she got what she wanted. By her bloodied beaten victim, while floating in the air, butt ass naked.
-The Mind of Kohei Horikoshi
Bright side, ain't gotta deal with edgy Toga anymore thank god. Maybe she'll help the heroes and actually be useful now (on her way to prison). Less chapters wasted on her crap. Tripe lowtier character
Again, I get what you did/what yer doin Horikoshi. It's just a ham-fisted, sloppy, dysfunctional narrative.
Superman does it all the time, but in context, makes more sense. Why? Superman doesn't reach everyone, that's the paradox, the tragedy. He represents hope, but not everyone has it or wants hope. That's IRL reality. It's beautiful when he prevents a young girl from taking her life, but the sad reality is, another girl got acid attacked somewhere else, all because she wanted to go school and learn to read. And Supes wasn't there. That's reality. Can't save everyone.
Rudy Jones, Parasite is a creature with compulsion to drain lifeforce.
When he chooses to be, he is an animal, plain n simple. No excuses are made for this guy, he fucks up, he goes to jail, no amount of crying makes him the victim.
Tumblr media
Here?
It's HOW Horikoshi is doing this that's the problem. It's forced, cringe, cheesy, sanctimonious, and more importantly:
Too unrealistic given how monstrous Horikoshi himself wrote these people. You make them that extreme cause it looks cool, all that trauma, drive, and motivation.
And it just melts away cause someone talked no jutsu?
Are you serious K.H? You really think mental health is that simplistic huh? Man.
Tumblr media
Then most of em were frauds to begin with. Not a threat, just lost puppies wanting a treat and a pat on the head. Going by this anyway.
Trauma doesn't just take a hike because someone wants to talk about romance. Jfc.
Tumblr media
It's rarely EVER put as "You'll be tried for your crimes", "Actions have consequences" and that's it!
Or "I'll bring you down", something resembling accountability, and it STAYS that way.
Repeat, ACCOUNTABILITY, "You're wrong, you're going to jail, i'll get you help" and the narrative STAYS that way aka every casual Superman speech to a regular villain.
CHP288 tried it, Ochako had her head on straight, then she saw Toga "cryyyyy"
Tumblr media
Apparently in HorikoshiLand, as long as you're [CRYING] or somethin, the villains are entitled to appeals, extended hands, group hugs, candy, family reunion and emotional TED talks.
It 100% takes control, and autonomy away from the villain character when they're just strung along by feelings of the moment than what was supposed to be their vision for their ideal world.
Because in their minds, "the world is the problem."
The character as they were prior, becomes a joke, thus their vision never mattered because the entire time, apparently they were full of shit.

#379
Deku should at least cripple Tomura, or Tomura should die fighting AFO to settle his own score. Not cause Deku turned him.
Tomura clutches and beats Deku (Because GEAR SHIFT prevents Izuku from breathing, he can't keep that up forever), but is faced with his own choice: Be AFO's extra layer of skin or be his own man?
Or he beats AFO with Deku, survives mangled & will never walk again or something, but he can simulate walking with flight. And just turns himself in anyway because the "Demon Lord" tripe was AFO's ambition, not his. Everything he knew was him being groomed to be a vessel for some immortal creep.
Or Deku & Tomura both go out like Heroes. Unlikely. But it's an option.
Or AFO just takes him over, and Deku has to do what he gotta do. Like all the legends before him.
At this point, any of those would be the most organic conclusions for old boi Shigaraki. Off the top of my head. Cause ofc, he/they (Tomura-AFO) are not going to win.
Otherwise this "Crying is the answer" mess that completely fucked Deku's Vigilante arc has absolutely neutered MHA's villains' threat level.
MHA reads like a story that wants to be everything at once.Have Nintendo, Star Wars, all kinds of inspired characters.
The slice of life happy bright tone, the DC edgy tone, hype up the villains to be uber powerful, ruthless, but when it's time to commit to that...just have them talk about their feelings, or crying, or nerf.
Tumblr media
All For One isn't allowed by the author to kill anyone major, or anyone period.
Despite the fact that he's able to, and every villain around him is cracking and crying like basket cases who just needed a hug.
Tumblr media
These kids wouldn't last a Day with DC COMICS' High tier villains, on god.
Superboy Prime in the early arcs would slaughter these idiots if they tried this shit with him.
In fact, because he's Homelander levels of insecure, if not worse, them trying to appeal to him would just make him kill them faster.
Tumblr media
The Flashes using the SPEEDFORCE to imprison him in a Red Sun prison couldn't hold SB Prime, so Gear shift ain't gonna do shit against him.
Again, for the last time.
Superman [Lore accurate] always gives people a chance, but within context, even that bastard's got a limit.
Imagine that mf trying to appeal to DARKSEID, Doomsday (when he started talking) or Helspont, could you imagine, lmfao
You can be a few genocides short of H1tler Jr. status, but as long you cry, just talk about your feelings, let's talk about romance; The fuck?
Absolutely fucking not. Cmon now with all that.
This is straight infantile.
And naturally it'll get animated, and the sponsored anime channels will say:
It's amazing
the writing is spectacular
the music gave me the feels
"it makes so much sense for her character"
"themes"
"symbolism"
"the power of smile"
something "we've never seen before"
"a masterpiece"
Feelings
It made me feel-
How it made me feel-
This makes me feel-
All the scripted responses that'll get them likes.
And then forget it exists when the seasons over and done with.
Just like with Season 6. And it didn't take long either. Next Anime of the week just replaced it on the Top 10 listings, and it just disappeared. Like it never existed.
That and the fact that after like 3+ Quirk upgrades for the boys (plus feats in movies), Ochako FINALLY gets a legit Quirk upgrade...in the final few chapters of the entire series. Nice one author. Really breaking that "Shonen Female Lead curse".
Tumblr media
Nice! A major quirk upgrade for Ochako, only took 95% of the story to be OVER to get here. Do better Katara.
Yes someone actually said that back when Season 2 was fresh off the grill.
Tumblr media
Because Ochako did her best against Bakugou, she tried to clutch a last min move on him in the tournament (S2E9), and she got a flashback = She supposedly broke a "Shonen female lead curse", & the most she did after was:
Learn Gunhead Martial arts, repress feelings for Deku-
Watch Deku be amazing against Overhaul, Make a costume change because of Deku, Fail to bring in Toga, and the one everyone knows: Vomits some nauseating speech to defend Deku.
Who/ What is the constant theme in most of those cases? Hint: It's not Ochako's individual evolution than it is most of her changes revolving around Deku.
Sooo that statement aged well didn't it? Lmfao, seems like the curse is alive and well.
Positive note. Again, Toga is out the way.
Art is very good, as usual.
At least I like it anyway, some people really can't keep up with the action, I think it's great, to see all the effort he's putting in the visuals, it is NOT easy to sketch in darks of that scale. He might be using a pad-
Regardless
Tumblr media
He means well, but it's the writing that's dogshit.
But AFO vs Mecha AllMight, I'm here for it.
