this is an urgend call for help! I'm a 29yo teacher in europe and I have a problem with one of my students. He's 18yo, the star of the soccer team and of the whole school. he's looking at me and talking with me in a very special way. So I think he has a crush on me. I've to give him a lot of detention but he seems to enjoy it. Last time he says at the end: "soon you're one of us - your countdown is on...' pls tell me he hasn't used your program. If he has, stop this countdown immediately
According to a scribble in the student restroom, you are supposed to be the school's sexiest teacher for the third year in a row. Someone has sketched your cock next to this note. Obviously life-size, because the doodle is impressively large.
Well, you can't be the sexiest teacher for the third time because you've only been here at the school for two years. Before that you were at university. First in Milwaukee. Then actually only for two semesters in Lund, Sweden. But you fell in love with Sweden. And now you are very happy to have got a job as a sports and math teacher at the sports high school in Malmö. Sport here at the school usually almost automatically means "soccer", but as a native American you have less to do with it. Your sports are badminton, athletics and windsurfing in the summer.
You almost despair of the soccer star. A stinking lazy pupil. Certainly not stupid. But really lazy and uncooperative. According to his coach, he is the most disciplined person imaginable on the pitch. Here in math class, he's definitely not. Absolutely not! "Soon you'll be one of us - your countdown is on". That was yesterday… Today, once again, he didn't even show up for math class. Shit, he's ruining his whole career. Besides, you kind of miss him… He's not just a student… He's also kind of… A buddy! Damn, you can't have thoughts like that with a student!
Tumblr media
You are looking for your student on the soccer field. Of course he's there. Of course he doesn't have a guilty conscience. Shit, of course you can understand him. After all, soccer is your life too. It was always your dream to become a professional soccer player. But unlike him, you were simply never good enough.
You try to talk him into his conscience without being such a bourgeois. You want to come across as cool. But on the other hand, you also know that you have to assert yourself as a teacher. It's your last traineeship. You'll graduate next year. Now you're still somewhere between the teachers and the students. It's a shitty situation. And the jock just laughs at you when you reprimand him. He says you'll soon be in detention together.
Tumblr media
You are actually a really hard-working student. You are very keen to do well in your exams. You definitely want to work as a teacher at this sports high school. Soccer and math. That would be exactly your combination of subjects. But you can't study tonight. The day as a volunteer at the school was really exhausting. Before you go jogging for another hour, you look in the mirror as you change into your sports clothes. The fucking spots just won't go away. You still look a bit like you're still in puberty. But you finally seem to be growing hair on your chest. Maybe you will become a real guy after all. Whether the soccer star likes hair on his chest. Or if he has any himself? The thought of him gives you a boner!
Tumblr media
When you wake up the next morning, you pick up where you left off yesterday. With a boner. My goodness, since you've been doing the internship here at the school, you've been kind of hard all the time. Of course, you've got a whole lot of damn tight guys among the other freshmen at your university… But the boys here at the sports high school are in a different league. They wank wherever they go and wherever they stand. And since you've been here, you've joined in.
You've been given a single room at the sports boarding school for the duration of your internship. You have a washbasin in your room, but you share the toilet and shower with the boys from the upper school. You're 21, hardly older than the guys who will be graduating this year. But you're still not allowed to fuck them. Even as a freshman and an intern, you are formally a member of the teaching staff. What a load of shit! How you'd love to let the star of the soccer team fuck you in the shower. It's obvious he wouldn't be averse either.
Tumblr media
The internship sucks. Sitting in class without being able to shape it but already knowing everything is even more stressful and boring than it is for the students. Nevertheless, you try to look like you're paying attention and taking notes. This is actually more of a strategy to avoid falling asleep. You can hardly wait until soccer practice finally starts. You can just play along. You're more of a pupil than a teacher. The coach praises you and says that you're wasting a great talent as a sports teacher. He asks you to take the team star under your wing for a while. He could certainly learn a lot from you. Hehehehehe, you think to yourself. I'm sure you could from him too!
After training, you go to the gym for a bit of strength endurance training. Suddenly the soccer star is standing behind you. He runs his hand under your sweaty jersey and plays with your nipple. Thank God you're alone in the gym. You take off your jersey and he sucks on your nipples like a puppy on its mother's teats. Shit, his smell of wet grass and sweat alone is driving you crazy. With one hand you take your boner out of your pants. With the other, you push his head down. He blows like the devil. And you cum like a fire hose.
A delicate fuzz appears on your upper lip. That's the only good thing about fucking puberty. Your voice is cracking. Your pimples are annoying. And every other morning you wake up in a huge mess in your bed. Every morning that Lars hasn't blown you first. Or you blew him. You're congenial on the soccer pitch. Whatever congenial means. But the coach always says that. You think you're totally congenial in the shower and on the toilet and in all sorts of other places too. The fact that Lars and you met here at the boarding school is damn lucky!
Tumblr media
You've been inseparable since you were 18 at the latest. During the week at Intermat, at the weekends either with your parents. Or at his. Your parents are cool. Although you're not sure if they know what you're up to.
Lars and you both think school sucks. You're here to become professional footballers. You don't need fucking math or history for that. Your coach predicts a glorious future for both of you. The man is cool. He's ancient, probably already 30 or so. But much more relaxed than your other teachers. And he'll cover for you if you skip math again. But only if you've used the time for fitness or technique training. If you don't show full commitment, the coach has no mercy.
It is an honor to have been accepted at this school. You have no intention of disgracing the school!
Tumblr media
It's a common saying that the two of you only exist in a double pack. Your classmates have turned 'Lars' and 'Zlatan' into 'Latan'. It's no coincidence that your name is Zlatan. Your parents are huge fans of Zlatan Ibrahimoviv. And the fact that you made it to school here in his community, that you are the second Zlatan to become a national player from Rosengård, makes your parents proud. But if you become a national player, Lars will also have to play for the national team. That's a matter of honor. You look at yourself in the mirror. The fuzz on your upper lip isn't quite ready for a cool beard like the one your role model has. And your parents never allowed you to have long hair. But since you've come of age, you've let it grow. It won't be long before you look like the great Zlatan!
You don't like it when Lars and you are put on opposing teams in tournaments. But Coach is right, of course, he needs to train your killer instinct. An opponent is an opponent. Even if you occasionally get shagged by the center forward. And how you get fucked. Shit, your cock is already famous in the changing rooms near and far. But against Lars' beast… You're nothing…
Tumblr media
It's pouring with rain. The soccer match was a mud fight. But you won. "As we agreed, the loser has to blow the winner" you tell Lars after the final whistle. "I can't wait to suck your cheesy boner clean" Lars replies with a grin. Even though almost everyone knows that you are a couple, you are usually rather reserved in public. But today… Fuck it!

failing maths, but getting the girl
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
synopsis: momo and y/n have hated each other ever since an incident in first year. now, y/n's failing a class and momo offers to help.
warnings: mentions of blood and cuts, overbearing parents, drugs, implied sex
w/c: 4.0k
a/n: this is kinda funny for me bcs im blonde and my dad keeps making jokes in chinese about how im ltr a blonde bimbo now. anyway i combined these 2 reqs bcs im lazy forgive me anon/s
⋆。°✎ᝰ ˎˊ˗
"y/n!"
you turn in the corridor, almost crashing into the burly man behind you who yells a "watch where you're going blondie!" before rushing off to a class he was probably late to.
you spot your friends who had called you, grinning and waving you over, "can't go one day on campus without running someone down can you?" a friend teases.
you pout, "i didn't walk into anyone yesterday!"
"no but you got stuck in the revolving door outside the chem building."
you whine at their teasing, you were a naturally clumsy person! sometimes you'd mix up salt and sugar, and sometimes you'd lose your car keys only to find them still in the ignition keyhole of your car from the last time you used it.
"so you coming to that party tonight? i heard some famous dj from the states is playing."
"awwh really?! i can't tonight i'm failing that dumb math class i have to take and i have a quiz tomorrow so i gotta study."
"you're failing everything y/n, what difference would one night make for you anyway?" a scoff from a student passing by, who you recognise as the infamous hirai momo from the back of her head and the evil way she sends a side-eye at you and your friend group in disgust.
"i wouldn't be if it weren't for your sad ass hirai!"
"stop looking at my ass and get your eyes on some books for once."
momo was meant to be your roommate in first year. although you had accidentally locked her out in the rain for 5 hours while you were hooking up with someone you can't remember the name of anymore. that was during orientation week, safe to say she was pissed and completely drenched when you finally let her in. she filed for a roommate change not long after, citing "poor etiquette and stupidity that could infect my genius", and being the university's most promising academic scholar, she pretty much got whatever she wanted. meaning she also got you assigned to the harshest tutors and markers as her own form of personal revenge, essentially making you fail most of your first year courses. which is why you were even taking this math class again.
the problem arose however, when you find out you would actually lose your scholarship if you failed another class. so failing was definitely not an option.
⋆。°✎ᝰ ˎˊ˗
“you failed.”
“what!? but i studied all night! i even brought the right calculator model this time!”
“miss l/n, bringing the correct calculator doesn’t help you if you don’t know how to use it. and neither does studying all night if you haven’t been coming to class for most of the semester.”
you’re gaping at the professor in disbelief.
“i’m afraid you’ll lose your scholarship if you fail the upcoming final exam. take this as your final warning. good day miss l/n.”
the door is shut in your face while you're still left trying to process exactly what just happened, mouth opening and closing like a goldfish.
a familiar scoff behind you brings you back though, "what is y/n l/n doing here outside the staff meeting room? what? about to blow one of your professors for marks or something?"
you spin, stepping into her space, faces inches away from each other, "you jealous or something hirai? i'll blow you too if you beg."
you revel in the way her cheeks immediately flush, a slightly shaky finger pushing up the glasses on her nose as she looks away, "jokes on you l/n. i don't have a dick dimwit."
"you don't need one for me to make you feel good."
she's sputtering, moving around you quickly to escape, knocking on the staff door. you smirk, reveling in the slight win over her but immediately forgetting the feeling of triumph when you realise you're still fucked for your final in 2 weeks.
⋆。°✎ᝰ ˎˊ˗
"y/n, you know i love you, but i cannot explain this again in any other way."
you groan, hands coming up to pull at your hair.
"but you got like a high affliction or something for this class last year! if you can't teach me i'm actually royally screwed, pleaseee?"
"it's high distinction sweetie. and just because someone's good at something doesn't mean they're a good teacher. sorry to break it to you but i couldn't teach my little cousins how to multiply fractions without wanting to commit homicide."
you wrinkle your nose, "gross dude they're literally related to you."
"no babes homicide means i wanted to kill them."
"oh... i guess that's better?"
"focus! c'mon you remember how to do the cross product right?"
"i don't get ittttttt!!!!!!! isn't that just multiplication? a times b equals ab!"
"this isn't algebra it's vectors. cross product isn't multiplication y/n."
you groan again, facepalming the desk in front of you.
your friend sighs, "sorry y/n i have to get going now. promised my boyfriend i'd go watch his game tonight."
"what?! you can't leave me here!"
your friend's already packing up their stuff though, "sorry! good luck with the studying though!"
you wail in goodbye, sitting up again and slapping your face a few times, trying to hype yourself up.
two minutes later, and you're still absolutely nowhere.
you decide to go out for a quick stroll rather than start a campfire in the middle of the library with all your papers. the evening breeze feels refreshing against your skin as you take in the sky. breathing in a deep sigh and closing your eyes briefly.
definitely the wrong idea when you crash headfirst into something that yelps a "what the fuck!" followed by the sound of smashing glass and a whine of pain.
your eyes are quick to open and you stare down at a bleeding hirai momo next to what looks to be a ruined 3D print of a final project or something.
"oh shit momo! are you okay?" you crouch down quickly, trying to collect the glass pieces that have broken, yelping when a piece digs into your skin.
"has all that bleach finally reached your brain y/n? who goes for broken glass with their bare hands?" she's frowning, rubbing her head a little and inspecting the cut across her arm.
"i-i'm sorry i-"
she sighs, "save it. i've had a long enough day as it is. being around you any longer is just gonna increase my chances of dying to some freak plane crash or something." she's standing up and brushing her hands off on her pants muttering to herself, "i'll have to call security to come clean this up."
you realise then that her eyes look a little puffier than usual, slightly tinged with red, the telltale signs of crying.
you suddenly feel terrible. whatever you had just broken seemed like an extremely intricate piece of work, and she was still bleeding down her arm but she didn't seem to pay it much mind, taking a phone out of her pocket and dialing security.
you step to the side and wait for her to finish talking on the phone. she doesn't realise you haven't left yet, swearing under her breath as she assess the damage once again.
when she turns and sees you again, she scowls, "what are you still doing here bimbo? don't you have a dick to ride or some jewelry to shine?"
you ignore her, blushing instead, "you're still bleeding."'
she looks surprised at that response, glancing at her arm again briefly and shrugging, "it's whatever. i'll clean it up later."
you wrap a hand around her wrist then, still not meeting her eyes, "let me? it'll be hard to bandage it properly with your left hand. and i kinda owe you for all of-" you gesture vaguely with your other hand at the ground, "this."
she's tugging her hand back quickly though, "don't bother. you'd probably make it worse. just go home y/n."
you sigh exasperatedly, "won't you just let me help! i feel bad okay? i can't just leave you here bleeding onto the concrete waiting for security to come clean this up."
she's surprised at your outburst, eyes locking onto yours and then nodding slightly. you don't let her rethink her decision as you drag her back inside the library, heading into the storeroom where you knew they had emergency first aid supplies.
you sit her down on the chair and rummage through the small kit for some alcohol wipes to clean the wound first.
she's eyeing you with a sort of caution, but is quick to clench her eyes shut and gasp at the first sting of disinfectant.
it's quiet for a bit while you work on cleaning her wound.
"where'd you learn first aid?" she speaks up first, eyes meting yours again.
"my little sister used to play around a lot with the rougher kids in the neighborhood. so she was always coming home with scratches and cuts and my mom was at work most of the time so i had to learn to take care of her myself."
momo hums, "guess that didn't really translate to taking care of yourself then huh? i mean with the way you're always tripping over air and stuff, you're more of a danger to yourself than a serial killer would be." there's no malice to her words this time, just lightly teasing you and you smile.
"i am sorry by the way. for breaking that. it looked like it'll be pretty hard to replicate."
"nah. i can just print another one tomorrow don't worry."
you both fall into silence again as you finish cleaning her wound, going to collect a few of the bandages to start wrapping around her arm.
you clear your throat a little awkwardly, "so... long day?"
she chuckles humorlessly in response, "something like that."
"wanna talk about it?"
she bristles then, and you're quick to correct yourself, "i mean you don't have to. just... making conversation."
it's quiet for a little longer and you're finishing wrapping her up, grabbing a small adhesive to stick it all together when she sighs. "sorry. just had a lot of pressure from back home lately. my parents keep wanting me to hurry up and graduate so i can go back to japan and take over the family companies. they called earlier saying how they're cutting off my funding for next year if i continue to drag out my studies."
"what? but you're only 23. don't you have like, things left you wanna do before you're all old and unable to move anymore?"
she giggles a little, its the first time you've heard that from her, "yeah tons actually. i've always wanted to see the northern lights and stay in one of those cute little igloos in finland, maybe go to antarctica and do some research there."
"okay! do that! what's stopping you?"
she smiles at you sadly, "my parents won't allow it. they'd disown me for not taking over their companies. and frankly, i'd be broke without them. i don't have the kind of money to keep living abroad like this if they were to stop supporting me."
you tilt your head a little in confusion, "can't you find a job?"
she's laughing then, a full, nose-scrunching laugh, "not with the classes i'm taking. i'd have to either take part-time study, which my parents would literally kill me for because it's 'embarassing' and would bring shame on our family name, or... never sleep again and take a night job or something."
you frown, sitting back on your heels.
"thanks for this by the way. you're still hurt though, do you want me to do you?"
"-and don't make a weird joke about that." she interrupts you before you can even open your mouth.
you pout, nodding a little as she laughs, and grabs the first aid box from you, gently placing your hand in her lap and cleaning your fingers.
you're caught by the way her eyebrows furrow a little in concentration, her teeth biting into her bottom lip slightly, and you can't help but think she looks cute.
you're brought quickly out of these alarming thoughts though, when she asks "how come you're in the library so late on a friday night anyway? never thought the day would come."
you groan, remembering the stack of math papers you have sitting on your desk, "i have to study for a math final coming next week. if i fail i lose my scholarship and i can't let my mom pay for any of this. she's already worked hard enough getting both my sister and me through school."
momo looks surprised at your admission, "oh. i'm sorry. i didn't know you were on scholarship."
you hum, "yeah most people don't assume it from looking at me." you tease a little, flipping your blonde hair over your shoulder and giving a little jingle of your bracelets.
"i'm not materialistic or anything but i enjoy having things that make me look nice y'know?"
she rolls her eyes, placing bandaids carefully onto your fingers.
"you don't need any of those things anyway."
you're caught again, unsure whether that was a compliment or some new way of torturing you.
she clears her throat, "all done."
you look at your hand, cutely littered with some winnie the pooh bandaids she must have found in the first aid kit.
you beam up at her, "thanks!"
she blushes a little and looks away from you, shyly rubbing the back of her neck, "hey look... i can help you study for that test next week if you want. don't want you losing your scholarship over something simple like that. plus i kinda helped go through all the first year math exams for some extra credit with the head of department."
you're shocked at first, and then jumping and squealing, bringing her up with you, "what?! you will?! oh my god thank you!!!!! holy shit oh my god i'm not gonna fail oh shit i'm-"
she's shooshing you in an instant though, a hand clamped over your mouth, eyes darting behind you, "y/n! we're still in a library!"
you grin when she lets you go, whispering loudly, "thank you!"
she's rolling her eyes and letting herself be dragged over to your table, praying that she didn't make the wrong decision deciding to help you.
⋆。°✎ᝰ ˎˊ˗
momo's standing outside your lecture theatre, waiting for your class to end. you texted her saying you were getting your final results back today so she decided to pop by and make sure everything was okay.
once students start exiting the class she slips in, walking towards the professor who's packing up her stuff..
"momo! good to see you here. although i'm a little surprised. i wasn't expecting you."
"hey professor kwon. i'm just here to-"
momo's attacked from the back, you're squealing as you latch onto her excitedly, waving a test paper in front of her face, "i passed! momo look i passed! with a 62!!!!! that's higher than i've ever gotten!!!!!"
"miss l/n. i didn't know you knew momo." professor kwon is looking you up and down with a little distaste but you ignore it, squeezing momo even tighter in thanks.
"y/n- stop- wait lemme see that-" she snatches the paper out of your hand and scans it, eyes lighting up when she confirms you did in fact pass.
"congratulations! all that hard work really paid off."
you're blushing, "couldn't have done it without you hirai. c'mon, come out with my friends and i tonight to celebrate!"
"o-oh i don't know about that y/n... i've got-"
"study yeah yeah you always do. but you've gotta relax every now and then you know?"
"miss l/n is right momo. you're the most hardworking student here you should give yourself a break every now and then."
you're nodding fiercely, "right right! thanks professor kim!"
she looks at you with a glare, "kwon. its professor kwon miss l/n."
you're nodding, waving her off shaking momo, "c'mon pleaseeeeeeee? i'll pay for everything. as a thanks for helping me. and i can afford it now too since i won't be losing my scholarship which is also thanks to you so..!"
momo's still uncertain, hand at the back of her neck again, a nervous tick you've picked up on.
"oh professor i just remembered!" you're switching back to your professor, excitement and attention everywhere, "you were looking for outstanding students to tutor next semester right? how about momo? she's the only reason i passed this final and trust me when i say i'm a pretty difficult student to teach."
"oh?" the professor looks towards momo who's eyes have widened, "i had actually planned on asking you regardless but seeing as you were very successful with miss l/n it's just even more proof that you'd be a great teacher. what do you say momo? it's paid decently and great on your academic and work transcripts as well..."
you're looking between your professor and momo with full eyes.
momo looks like she's about to reject the offer, you knew it was because her parents expected her to be back in japan next year but you stop her before she's able to say anything.
"momo! this is great! this is exactly what you need! a job while you're still at uni so you can study at any time but still get paid for it!"
"y/n..."
"it's okay momo. think about it and let me know if you're interested and you've got the job 100%. i've got to get going to my next class now but goodbye girls, congratulations miss l/n but i hope i won't be seeing you in my class next year."
"oh definitely not professor kim!" you wave enthusiastically, giggling at the way the professor sighs in defeat.
you look back at momo who still looks a little stunned.
"well? what do you think?" you ask her excitedly.
"i- i don't know... there's a lot to think about..."
you tilt your head to the side a little in confusion, a gesture momo was beginning to grow fond of.
"i can't just abandon my family y/n. it's a decision that will take me some time to go over." she smiles at you gently, you can't believe this was the same girl who used to call you mean words and intentionally pray on your downfall.
"mm okay. i don't really get it but as long as you're happy in the end it doesn't matter. now c'mon! you coming tonight or not?"
she sighs fondly, "yeah yeah just this once. and we better be home by 12!"
you're pulling her along again scoffing, "riiiiiiiiight 12pm maybe."
"y/n!"
⋆。°✎ᝰ ˎˊ˗
momo was most definitely out of her comfort zone. she mostly stuck to the bar, avoiding eye contact with people who tried to approach her. she quickly ordered another drink, hoping the alcohol could at least ease her nerves.
you were most definitely in your zone. you adored being able to dress up and let loose, especially when everyone else is so drunk you’re no longer the only person falling over themselves. you could laugh a little and have fun as well.
you could feel momo’s eyes on you and you ached to drag her out onto the dance floor and join you but she was adamant on staying by the bar when you had tried.
you’re not sure if it was the alcohol or maybe you were just attracted to her now after you’ve spent a whole week studying with her pretty much every minute of every day. but she looked good. you licked your lips as your eyes trailed down the slant of her jawline, her neck and clavicles outlined in the halter top she was sporting. your eyes politely moved past her chest but darted straight down to the abs that she apparently had hidden from the entire student body. how did she even have time to have abs when she always had her nose in a book or was in a lab conducting experiments?
you snap out of it when you realise said abs were moving closer to you for some reason, and suddenly she's all in your space, shoving someone behind you that you hadn't even realised was there in your momo-induced daze.
you turn to see a man with half his shirt unbuttoned and a look of surprise on his face. "the fuck dude?"
momo says nothing, reaching for your drink instead, sticking a finger in and swirling it around for 2 seconds before bringing it to her lips.
that was hot.
"rohypnol."
"what? what the fuck are you on about?" the guy is annoyed, drawing the attention of bystanders as they create a small circle around the three of you, you spot your friends in the crowd looking at you in confusion silently asking what's going on?
you can only shake your head, attention moving back to momo who's standing up straight, almost chest to chest with the guy now.
"rohypnol. a drug belonging to the benzodiazepine class of drugs that inhibits the central nervous system causing the user to experience extreme drowsiness and even blackout in some cases. it can also cause the user memory loss and brings the user to a higher state of intoxication in a rapid amount of time. it's street name is roofies."
the man is sputtering now, "w-what? what is this bullshit? what are you tryna say huh?"
"that you tried to roofie my friend here. do you want me to call the police? have them check this drink for traces of the drug?"
"what!? the fuck?!"
momo sighs, her eyes closing for a second, "is your vocabulary only limited to what? and the fuck? it's getting tiring talking to you."
he's gaping like a fish, the people surrounding you have called security over and they're tying his hands behind his back and he's left squirming against them, yelling more curses as momo stands stoically, watching him get taken away.
she sighs when he's out of sight and turns to you with a smile, "you should be more careful. you could've been hurt tonight."
you can't even think straight and the music is being turned back up, and momo looks so good, you can't help the way you're pulling her in by the waist and planting your lips on hers.
she makes a sound of surprise and is shocked for a second, but closes her eyes and returns the kiss, maneuvering you a little so she can place the spiked drink on a nearby table before her hand returns to you, one hand cupping your cheek, the other on your shoulder.
you're a little desperate when you claw at her abs that are now within touching distance, and she giggles into the kiss. you mutter a small shut up, reattaching your lips, feeling all the adrenaline of the night pumping through you as you mould yourself against her.
"god is it weird that- that kinda turned me on a little?" you're speaking between breaths, her lips swallowing up your words, not letting you catch a break.
she hums lightly against you, "which part?"
"the- when you were talking- about all those chemicals- and whatever-"
she breaks away from you then, an eyebrow arched and a hint of a smirk on her face, "you get off on me talking nerdy?"
you want to wipe that smirk off her face. "take me home and i'll show you what i get off on."
her eyes darken considerably, and she's tugging you towards the exit, grabbing the spiked drink and pouring it down the drain first to make sure no one drinks it. the little action of consideration even when you're both overwhelmed with lust just gets you more wet.
you send a quick text to your friends saying you had to leave early, and then you're in a cab, lips on each other's again, hands roaming and exploring every inch of available skin.
you suppose the one good thing out of that math exam was it bringing the two of you together at last.

I binged heartstopper s2 through work yesterday and i have Things To Say but i'll just start with this: i hc that Nick has dyscalculia
Listen when he opened his maths exam and instead of equations or diagrams he saw a bunch of squiggles which messed with his head is such an accurate portrayal of what it's like to do math with dyscalculia. Not as in they actually become squiggles but more as in it feels like you're looking at a foreign language and no matter how hard you try you cannot make sense of it.
Personally i can do simple sums but anything more than that and it just stops making sense. At a certain point you don't even know what you're calculating anymore and you get extremely frustrated with yourself. And when you talk to others about it usually they'll be like "oh yeah i get it i hate math too" but the thing is, i actually enjoy math and it's really satisfying when it works. But for me the issue is that more often than not i end up confused before i can even solve it. I don't hate math i just genuinely can't do it.
Dyscalculia is such an unknown learning disorder. A friend of mine did her thesis on learning and behavioral disorders for youth in prisons, and she made the remark that no matter how hard she looked she could barely find any research papers to use in her thesis on dyscalculia. All of it was dyslexia, adhd and the like. Each time people ask i have to explain what dyscalculia is, and each time they go "oh you don't know your multiplication tables? That's kind of silly" and it truly grinds my gears. This impacts my daily life immensely. A cashier will hand me my change and i just have to trust they're correct because i cannot count that fast. When i ask someone for the time and they just show me their analog watch in response i want to bite their hand off, bonus points if that watch has roman numbers. There's several tasks that take me way longer than it should at work because i get lost in calculating the price for something simple,
Anyway, Nick has dyscalculia 2023 and i will not take no for an answer.

i had to translate this but the request was so cute 🥹🥹 i’m gonna write in english so hopefully that’s alright! ขอบคุณ!
eng: Hello, I see that the request is open. Can i ask how the union and eunjang take care of you when you are sick?? I mean it's going to be so cute!
when you’re sick ;
Tumblr media
weak hero x gn!reader
gray yeon
➤ when gray notices some telltale signs of sickness from you, he goes into health student mode
➤ doesn’t talk to you as he comes up and gently placed the back of his head against your forehead, hissing when he realizes how hot it is
➤ “y/n, you’re burning up…” internally panicking
➤ after trying, and failing, to reassure him that you’re fine, gray decides to bed bound you and orders your favorite soups. “we are not going anywhere until you feel better.”
donald na
➤ notices right away that something isn’t right. whether it be you’re slower than usual or not eating as much, donald keeps a closer eye on you throughout the day
➤ good thing he did, because you’re on your way to the restrooms when you collapse. donald is able to catch you before your head hits the ground, but his eyes are wild with worry
➤ “darling, hey, wake up. wake up, y/n!”
➤ you eventually wake up in donald’s bed with an iv in your arm and a worried boyfriend beside you. apparently, you were severely dehydrated, but donald warns you not to put him through that ever again and crawls into bed beside you until you fall back asleep
ben park
➤ blows your phone up when you aren’t in class, worried since you didn’t look so good yesterday
➤ you don’t respond at first because you’re asleep, but the constant ringing eventually wakes you up. “hello?”
➤ “jesus, y/n! are you okay? where are you? oh my god, my heart is about to explode!” you can’t help but smile at ben’s loud worries and assure him that you’re just taking a sick day since you don’t feel the best
➤ “stay where you are. don’t move. i’m coming over with food and we’re going to watch your favorite movies all night.” not only does he do as promised, but ben falls asleep beside you <3
jake ji
➤ you always text him good morning, and when jake wakes up with no text, he can’t help but sweat
➤ calls you, and when you don’t answer, he calls your mom. she informs him that you have a cold and won’t be in class. when she leaves for work, jake decides to skip school and sneak into your house :)
➤ he wakes you up by kissing your cheek so he doesn’t startle you, and when you smile up at him, jake (carefully) jumps into bed with you and spoons you
➤ “let me know if you need anything, okay? i won’t leave until you tell me to.”
alex go
➤ “bro, i’m sick.” you deadpan into the phone when alex calls asking if you ditched class to avoid the math exam
➤ “ahh, sick. i gotchuuuu,” he ‘plays along’, thinking that’s code for skipping school
➤ you can only sigh. “no, like, i’m actually sick. i’m bedbound and everything.”
➤ when alex does catch on, he decides to leave class early and slips in through your window with bags of snacks in his hands. “skip day! hurry up and get me sick, i have a bio exam tomorrow and didn’t study!”
wolf keum
➤ wolf wakes up to a knock on his door, and when he finds you standing outside, severely underdressed for the winter weather, he hurriedly pulls you inside. “y/n, what are you doing here?”
➤ “i-i couldn’t stop throwing up, and my head hurts, and you didn’t answer your phone, a-and—“ cuts you off with a hug, stroking the back of your head with his hand to calm you down
➤ “it’s fine. come on,” “did i wake you? i’m sorry, you can go back to sleep if you want—“ “y/n, relax. i’m gonna make you some soup, and we’re going to watch 4am sitcoms until you fall asleep.”
➤ surprisingly, wolf keeps his word. you nurse a glass of water as he cooks for you, then the two of you watch the cheesy shows until you eventually pass out in his arms
gerard jin
➤ when gerard goes to visit and finds you in a ball, burning up and covered in sweat, he drops everything and rushes to your side
➤ runs a cold shower for you, anything that he can think will get your temperature down, and sits in the freezing shower with you until your skin doesn’t burn his fingers
➤ you wake up sputtering, and gerard nearly cries in relief. he just hugs you, whispering how worried he was, “please, oh my god, please never do that to me again…”
➤ gerard helps you out of the shower and dresses you in some dry clothes before bringing you food and medication. “thank you for helping me. my hero~”
jimmy bae
➤ you and jimmy were out late last night, in the cold, and you’d warned him about catching a cold. he didn’t think much of it until you started sneezing the next day
➤ “y/n, why were you so worried about me… look at you now! dummy…”
➤ you just frown and sneeze in response </3
➤ though he doesn’t see himself as a very caring guy, jimmy will walk all the way to a drug store to get you the medication you need. he isn’t leaving you alone until you’re back on your feet

Warren Zaire-Emery's first conference with Les Bleus !
Tumblr media
RMC : What does it feel like to be here before us, for this A team press conference ? Deschamps teased us by saying "leave him alone, don't be doing too much". Do you feel like you're overly exposed to the media ?
Warren Zaire-Emery : Hello ! It's a pleasure to be here, in France's national A team. I'm very happy, very proud of representing my country and I'll give my all for France. So yeah, very happy. As for the media exposure...I think there's a lot of exposure, but it's also really flattering, so I'm very happy. For example, last night, I was with my family and they told me "you're very talked about". They think it's too much themselves. Me, personnally, I don't...I don't really know so. That's for you to decide.
RTL : Hello Warren. I wanted to ask you about the pressure, but I see with your first answer that you don't seem to be feeling much of it. I'm gonna go back to the topic we talked about beforehand with Dayot. Apparently, you guys talked about the way you managed your time between your studies and football. It's kind of crazy to think that, if it all goes well for you, you might compete in the Euros and pass the high school graduation baccalaureate exams at the same time. How do you manage it all, isn't it too hard on a daily basis ?
WZE : Hello ! Well...I revise at the same time. For example, last night, I did my Spanish homework. *laughter* But I try to do some planning. Whenever I have free time, I do my homework. I try doing both to the best of my ability. To switch between training in the afternoon and studying a bit before the evening session. It doesn't really bother me. Quite the opposite, it actually helps me keep balance at home. If I went have and didn't have anything to do... if I just played video games or went out, I don't believe it would have been better for me.
L'Equipe : Hello, Warren. Did you envision this cosmic rise a year ago? Did you think it was possible?
WZE : Hello ! Well...when one is young, I think they're also carefree. I don't really ask myself questions. I play football, the way I've been taught to. And I always give it my all. It's part of my personnality and it's something I'll keep doing daily.
Info Sport Plus, Canal : Warren, hello ! I was wondering how this week in the France national A team is going. Is it what you imagined when you learned you were being called up ? Can you share the best and worst moment so far?
WZE : Hello ! There are no bad moments, only good ones ! They welcomed me warmly, be it the staff or the players. Of course it's easier when some of them are in your club. They're there for me, and I'm slowly starting to open up to them. I'm learning to get to know them. And sometimes, it's them who approach me. During shared meals, they come and talk to me and...all is going really well ! I'm really happy !
Radio France : Hello Warren ! Did you talk with the Minister of Education, Gabriel Attal, during his visit yesterday? Also, tell us about the video against school bullying that you participated in.
WZE : Hello ! Well, first, yeah I had a brief conversation with the Minister since well...I'm still attending school. We made a video together against bullying, both at school and beyond. And I think it's a really good thing. It's crucial, and the fact that the France national team addresses it shows our commitment against bullying.
France Presse : Hello, Warren. I wanted to ask you two more personal questions. I wanted to know your French baccalaureate grades because we talked about it last year and you told me you were more of a Maths boy than a French boy. And I want to know what song you sang for your Les Bleus debut ?
WZE : Hello ! Well, I managed pretty well at the French baccalaureate. I scored 10/20 in the oral exam, and 12/20 in the written one. Maybe it's the other way around...I don't remember. *more laughter* And I sang 4Keus' "O'Kartier c'est la Hess". (This is Tiakola's debut group by the way, Warren's GOT TASTE.) It's a song I've known since I was a kid. I listened to it with my brothers, or on my own when I took a shower so...I sang that.
J: Warren, I wanted to know how do the France national team training sessions compare to those with PSG? Did you prepare for the potential starting role against Gibraltar?
WZE: Yes ! It went really well. But honestly, as I said, I don't really ask myself questions. Of course, in the France national team, the level is... there are only good players ! Internationals, so...the level is really high. But I don't ask myself questions, I play football and I do my best.
J : Warren, since you've mentioned them : how did your PSG teammates contribute to your integration into the national team ? We've seen the video of Kylian hugging you at your arrival.
WZE : Well, they're great people ! And I see it daily, because they're always there for me. And everyone, noit just PSG teammates, has been supportive ! They're there to talk to me, to welcome me warmly, to give me advice, to make me more comfortable. Whether it's the staff or the players, everyone is there for me and I'm very grateful for their help.
RTL : Captain of U21 a few weeks ago, now part of the A team. If given the choice, would you prefer the Euros, Olympics, or neither?
WZE : I don't think it's for me to choose. There are two coaches, one for the U21, one for the A team. I think they talk together a lot, and they'll be the one making a decision. But I'm at their disposal, no matter what happens.
J : Camavinga had to leave, Kephren Thuram's been called up. It makes for more place. Did you already prepare to potentially start against Gibraltar ?
WZE : You'll need to ask the coach. I'm always at his disposal, and the team's. So I'll be there , I'm ready, and I'll give my all for the goal that we set for ourselves which is finishing in the top 5 best teams.
J : Hello again, Warren. You talk about your family regularly. Recently, your dad said that you kept on surprising him. Can you tell us a little about that ? We've seen this video of you finding out you were called up to be with Les Bleus, could you tell us how your family, who you're still very close to, reacted to it all ? Thank you very much.
WZE : Well, my family's always there for me. And it helps, because when I play bad, they tell me, and when things go well, they're also there. So that's really important for me. It helps me stay grounded even if I think I already am. We didn't get to really celebrate because I had school for 2 to 7 p.m so...I was more focused on my classes than the selection. I watched the list, I was really happy, my teammates jumped on me to celebrate but right after I had to go to school. So it's...how do I say this ? I was really happy but disappointed I couldn't spend this moment at home with my family.
Le Parisien : Hello, Warren. Did you sleep well knowing that you'd present yourself in front of the press today ? Because although you're used to playing, you have 40 games to your credit with PSG, does the public speaking exercise that will now be mandatory for you worry you ? Or is it something you had prepared yourself for ?
WZE : Hello ! No, it didn't particularly worry me. But I also take it as training for my Baccalaureate exams. *more laughter* There are people helping me tackle this conference, so. I feel good, I feel comfortable.
M6: Hello, Warren ! Did you have the opportunity to talk with Thierry Henry when you got called up for the A team ? And what did he tell you ?
WZE : Hello ! Well, went to see him the day before yesterday, or the day before that I don't remember, and he was very happy for me. The only thing he told me beforehand was that the most important thing wasn't to get to the A team, but to remain in it. And it's the goal I've given myself, that I work towards daily. To stay.
J : Sorry but I won't listen to the coach, and I'm going to ask you a bothersome question. You could break a record of earliness that's been held since 1911 by Félix Vial, and become the youngest player to start with Les Bleus. Would that be something that would make you happy, or do you not care about records at all ?
Warren : Well, it's another record, so if I could break it, I would be really happy. But as I said, I'm at the coach's disposal and he'll be the one to decide. What's for sure is that I'm ready, and I will do my absolute best to help the team.
J: Warren, you play in a position where, in the French national team, there have been exceptional players for years now. Even if he's not here today, there's Aurélien Tchouaméni, you're gonna play with Adrien Rabiot. There used to be Pogba, Kanté, and the Coach, Didier Deschamps, was also a wonderful player at this position. Who are your references ? Were there any players who inspired you and who do you believe you're most like ?
WZE : I try to take inspiration from everyone. We all have a different style, so if I take inspiration from everyone, I'll have a little of each. That's what I try doing everyday. Of course, we're in the France national team, there are only great players. And I'm very happy to play with them, to train with them because they're there to give me advice, small details that might make all the difference. I'd like to thank them for helping them, and I'll be there for them as well.
J : Is there a feeling that it's all going really fast, but that it's pleasurable ? Whether in the club or in the national team ?
WZE : Of course it's going really fast. But I don't really ask myself questions. I take a lot of pleasure because it's a passion before anything, and I give my all on the pitch, like I have since I was a kid.
J : With L'Equipe, we wrote an article about your value, which is estimated to being over 100million €. You've been called up to the national team, you're 17 years old, your contract with PSG next year. Does this climate of a potential transfer weigh on you ? We know you've been at Paris for a while now, you're attached to that club, but how do you and your entourage view this financial value ?
WZE : Me, I don't look at that. It doesn't slow me down and it doesn't...how do I say this ? It doesn't bother me. Because I just play my football, it's a passion before anything else, and I don't look at that.
J : Hello again, Warren. You're a player who's overall very used. A few weeks back, you've had a bit of a warning regarding one of your ankles. At 17, are we fully aware of our physical ability to conduct these high intensity games back to back, and how do we handle this kind of small alerts ?
WZE : I listen to my body. So if I feel like something isn't right, I'll say it. My coaches also tell me to be careful, to rest well because I'm young and I play a lot, and a career is a lot of years. Me, honestly, I want to play so I give my 100% each time. The physiotherapists are there to help with the care, and me I take a lot of ice baths, I eat well and...I do things meticulously. I hope it'll carry on like this.
J: Warren, we leave the choice to you: the Baccalaureate, an Olympics gold medal, or the Euros with the A team ?
WZE: I won't make a choice, I'm taking all three.
He is my SON.

Sooo I've got an important math exam tomorrow and I was lowkey paniking because I haven't learned a lot for it yet. But then I was affirming that it's all gonna go well and that I will get a good grade despite barely studying for it. And like a millisecond after I finished that affirmation I saw the number 444 ✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
It's a sign yall, I love loa so much (~ ̄³ ̄)~
I also manifested that I'll find my wallet again like yayyyyy. 2 weeks ago I couldn't find it and I was almost thinking about telling my parents and going to the police or smt but instead I just affirmed that I'll find it again. Today I was cleaning up my room because someone was coming over and I lifted up a stack of clothing and GUESS WHAT WAS UNDERNEATH
𝓶𝔂 𝔀𝓪𝓵𝓵𝓮𝓽 ( ˘ ³˘)♥
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
On a different note, I've learned about the void like a few days ago and I absolutely love it. I had my first try at entering yesterday using a guided meditation. Didn't work for me and I think guided meditations aren't for me. I tried again today but on my own and I had a weird experience.
At first it felt like I was being pulled down/falling and I think that was my body kinda drifting off to sleep. However I felt weird, like I never felt like this before idk how to explain it. It wasn't dark at all, it was rather bright. I just felt extremely calm and excited at the same time. I could barely feel my body and I got so confused so I just affirmed stuff in case I was in the void but I think I was just really close to getting there.
Also yesterday I had a dream about being in the void and it was kinda cool. Definitely had me really confused once I woke up cuz I was like "wait...did that happen or was I just sleeping?"
Kudos to you if you actually read all of that ヾ(^ ^ゞ
I hope you'll have a great day!!!

Lemme be honest... I feel like Sendoh is average in every subject EXCEPT math. Idk why but there's something about him that makes him look like a math wizard to me.
Hear me out... Shohoku goes to Uozumi's restaurant to review for their exams, but it just so happens that the Ronan guys were chilling there as well.
Akagi is teaching Miyagi mathematics, and then Sendoh butts in, saying that Akagi is wrong, blah blah, and that this should be like this and such. And the other Shohoku guys, who have deep hatred for him, start trash-talking him, like, "What does he even know?" "Who does he think he is?" And he will say something like, "Yeah, well, we had a long quiz yesterday, and it was a question like that that I got wrong." And then he proceeds to bring out his slightly crumpled quiz paper from his bag and says something like, "Here, look." Then he shows that quiz item he got wrong, and when Akagi took it to study it, he saw a note from the teacher that said something like, "Congratulations on getting the highest score!" And then Akagi realizes it was the only item he got wrong throughout the long quiz.
Im sorry im insane i just had to take this out of my system
SD Boys + Academics
Sendoh
Tumblr media
Lowkey I feel like Sendoh would be good with math. He isn’t the type to lose his cool and I feel like he’d look through a question carefully.
Like imagine bro is doing a calculus test and he just calmly goes through each question.
I don’t think Sendoh is the type to try too hard in school. He does care about his academics, but I also don’t think he would stress himself out over it.
I DONT SEE HIM AS THE TYPE TO STUDY HELLA HARD?? I feel like he’s the type that reviews a little bit in advance for a test but nothing too long or strenuous.
Miyagi
Tumblr media
Hear me out, I feel like Miyagi is hella smart.
I don’t think he is the type to try in academics, since he failed his test and he’s shown to have been skipping/sleeping in his classes. However, I think he is the type that’s naturally smart.
When him and the rest of the guys that failed their tests, Ayako gave him a practice sheet and he finished it the MINUTE Ayako gave it to him.
She said he answered good too, so it shows that he isn’t dumb or anything. I think he could have really high grades if he actually tried in class.

Hello?
Life update!!
February was quite the month, I am not going to lie. I received some shocking (& soul shattering) news at the beginning of the month and it wouldn't be an understatement if I said that I went through the 5 stages of grief in that month.
Basically, I failed my math exam, again. Which I wasn't expecting. I am hesitant to say this, but I decided to hopefully try and move past my shame in this. All throughout my academic life, I was the brilliant A+ student, I was always ranked first on my class, I didn't even try that hard, it just came so naturally to me, I did struggle with a few topics in certain subjects every now and then of course, but it wasn't anything I couldn't handle or get over with a little bit of extra studying. All of this was until I got into my senior year of high school, I had suddenly lost all of my motivation, I gave up after the littlest of obstacles, I was doing the bare minimum and even less than that. Suffice it to say, I ended up failing my math exam. I had a chance to retake it this January and I did, I actually worked really hard this time and I tried my best, but I failed once more.
It really hurt me. And I was having an identity crisis moment going on because I was always known for how smart I am, how good I am in school and suddenly I am now failing my exams. At first I was in so much denial but I am now trying to accept what happened and really forgive myself, for everything and hopefully move on.
I initially was planning to get into dental school, I've given a lot of thought about what I wanted to do and this just feels so right and I feel like it's really my calling, however cheesy that might sound, however, my chances of getting accepted into dentistry are slimmer due to having failed twice. And at first I was like fine, I guess it's not meant to be and I will just study something else, but I really want to push through, and don't want to give up on this, so it would probably take me a while and a lot of work to get into dentistry now, but I won't give up.
I've been giving myself time to just survive and so I've been reading a lot and trying to get my life in order. I read 4 books in February :
Sense & Sensibility 3.5/5
The Queen of The Tearling 3.5/5
The Invasion of The Tearling 2/5
The Fate of The Tearling 2/5
And yesterday I finally finished War & Peace and man was that a ride! I also started rereading one of my all time favorites in March, Daisy Jones & The Six, and I finished it today!
And I also watched the first 3 episodes of the adaptation and I still don't know how I feel about it.
The highlight of my month was definitely going on a picnic to celebrate one of my friend's birthday!
If you've read this far, thank you so much for listening to me! And in case anyone who's reading this is going through something similar, it's ok to fail, it's ok to not have everything under control at all times, it doesn't make you less of who you are. You've got this! And hopefully, everything will turn out for the best!

Having a real mental revelation that oh nooo I actually got in consistent trouble all through school
I was just talking to my sister about that poll yesterday and was like oh I just had incidents around me, never got in real trouble
And she said, " Erinna, you got in trouble for your entire school time. You refused to do any homework ever, and then told the teachers that you were never going to do it."
And I'm like, oh yeah, and I never did. And I did tell teachers, with no room for negotiation and it didn't matter the subject, or if I liked the the teacher
Or how old I was. I started articulating my refusal at the age of 8
But I was also reading anything and everything I could
I read all through my classes, and I read so fast, I would read assigned books during class and finish them twice over during a single session
You couldn't get me to lift a pen out of class, and honestly I stopped doing in class work as well
But I passed my exams and tests based purely on how much I read
My sister is a teacher and she says that both her and I were definitely noticeable and consistent problems, just not aggressive ones.
Also both of us never shut up in class, both of us answered questions whenever one was asked of the entire class, but we were right
I kind of made my own education experience and school was incidental
Again, I went to a very bad school, where behaviour management and control was more important than education. And being a nonviolent person who did their own thing to an extreme degree I guess wasnt an issue
...I did stop going to math class in year 10 and just went into a friend's English class, so I was doing two English classes, and the teacher stopped mentioning it as an issue after the second time
Probably just glad I had returned to school as a whole
Because I also stopped going to school for week long chunks at 15. And I was a chronic absentee in general
...And when I was 11 I did once get told I would get detention and then stopped coming on Tuesday, when detention ran. And after the second Tuesday the teacher asked me if I was going to keep being absent if I still had to do it
And I said, straight up, yes, and then he cancelled my detention
Tbf, I was doing it because it was an unfair thing, and he knew it
Because he'd given it to me when I'd had a breakdown and was scream crying unstoppably and he said 'if you don't stop crying, you'll have to go to time out ' (time out was the official name for detention in my primary school)
But also I didn't have any fear of authority, because it genuinely didn't matter to me. What could a teacher do that meant anything vs the nightmare mess of my home life, you know?
And the moment I ever heard anyone lose their temper or even raise their voice, I wrote them off as a person.
Anyway, anyway. TL;DR I was actually consistently a source of frustration as a student
My sister said that teachers even spoke to her about me, asking why I wouldn't do homework. I didn't know that! Wild.

A small victory!
October 19th, Day 3/100 of Productivity
Hey everyone, welcome back to my blog! I don't have a lot to talk about today, but I have some good news. Let's get started.
Let's speak about the news first. As I wrote about yesterday, I had been expecting the results of a big test. I think that I got a good result, even a little better than I expected. I got a 96 percent (115/120) this time, but I guess that I got a little lucky as that was the best in the city I live in (It's a small city but it's still decent for my standards) ! That was very encouraging for me. (I got grilled by my parents because of a bad exam on Monday, and the new results helped with morale) So I wanted to share that here :D
I also managed to study a good bunch today. My class schedule was a little busy so it was nothing special but I managed to start during my lunch break and do a good amount of work during office hours. I chose to study some biology as I had some homework left from last week. It was mostly from easier parts of our material, basic building blocks and stuff. I still had to spend 3 hours to finish my assignment as it was a bit long. The school closed so I got on the bus and got home.
Well, I actually didn't have much to do after I got home today. I thought that I may have been neglecting maths lately, so I decided to spend some time solving problems and doing some practices. That took around 3 hours, but I think that it was a good way to spend some time.
That's all for now. Good night everyone, and good luck!

The Absolute State of Maths Education rn
Yo so the bigwigs at VCAA (the guys who write the curriculum for all education in Victoria, Australia) have been coming out with new study designs for almost all VCE classes that’ll be implemented at different points over the next 3 years. The VCE is considered relatively prestigious-ish in the sense there’s a fair few people in other countries who send their kids to Victoria to do it (Australia’s biggest export is education after all) so it’s a big deal when major changes happen to how important courses run. Context = understood.
So I’m a maths (…and science) teacher now and the major changes to the three maths streams since I graduated in 2012 can be summed up like this:
Spesh (the highest tier of maths, scales up the most out of any course except stuff like Latin) - Kinematics are less of a thing but they added in Proofs and hypothesis tests(?!) instead
Methods (still high scaling, but more like uni engineering maths instead of theoretical crazy hard stuff) - Stats removed, some more “calculus but if you can’t do calculus to that particular thing” included instead
Further Maths (General maths, scales down(?!) and is the “ya got a mortgage here’s a maths problem” class that a commerce degree at uni usually means by saying you need at least one maths background to get in) - the stats from methods is here now and they call it General Maths to stop the confusion with it and methods
and there’s also now a fourth tier of maths called foundation
Tumblr media
I’m assuming foundation is the barebones “pay your bills with x income And do your taxes” class your relatives keep saying they should’ve been taught how to do in school
So that’s all the changes across a decade of education. When they announced “big changes are coming to the way things will work across VCE maths” I think I’m safe to say most of us took it as the usual reordering and in/out for content as described above. Since I’m a good boy (read “I wanted to put on a good front to make sure I got my contract extension” - I’m permanent now dw) I attended the online seminars (lmao webex) that they presented as information sessions on the changes.
First one was Spesh. No biggie, exactly what you’d expect, some stuff’s swapped again, hang on Pseudocode is in..? But that’s just any code that could do any maths?! And they’re mentioning that it’s in methods too??? The chat at this point’s asking a lot of questions, mostly “how can we know what’s examinable so we can actually teach this??” But thankfully they have an example that should satisfy you:
Tumblr media
This is not even a half step above “hello world” and it’s in the hardest maths course? How hard does this get? What do they consider legit? Is there an example exam question that they have as a reference? How will they be able to write textbooks on this if that’s all they have?
No answer. Oh well methods is the next day maybe that will elaborate on it.
Methods opens with the same spiel on things, negligible changes imo on actual content… and he acknowledges some confusion from yesterday on Pseudocode! Has he got an answer? What’s the example this time…
Tumblr media
Oh. And it’s definitely examinable and we might elaborate on that later but for now that’s all we got.
That was all 2022. Recently (2023) they did the same thing for “revisions” which was for FurtherGeneral Maths’ course (all of these are being phased in kinda since changing a year 12 course when year 11s are running on the old one makes no sense). Guess what showed up in the General Maths study design!
Tumblr media
It’s ya boi 21st century life skills!
I’ll be honest, I was a little suss on this from the Meth/Spesh presentations but I think this confirms what I was thinking: this is some boomers pulling the “kids need to learn how to computer” card isn’t it? Don’t get me wrong, kids do need to learn to computer, but lol as if they’ve got this as their only example to show off across all three variety of maths!
But wait, there’s more!
They’ve got a page about it now! Yay! There’s some more examples - harder ones now - but there’s still no actual information on how this topic can be presented on the actual end of year exams. What do i teach them? What constitutes legit Pseudocode vs nonsense pretend code? Is this basic computer science 101 or are the kids going to be presented with a max level spesh question through the lenses of a guy saying “yeah but make it code”
eh I’ll just teach them excel :)

life as an econ major: first impression
17.09.23
so here's the thing, the school year starts tomorrow but i still don't have my exam results... so am i actually gonna start my masters this year? who knows. i guess we'll find out tomorrow.
but the info session for this program took place on friday so i went despite the fact that i still don't have my results. and here's how it went.
so first we had a big info session for all the masters programs at the economics and management faculty. and there are like 5 different programs, we were about 50-60 people id say. the session was quite boring bc it was mostly for people who are new to the university overall. so they just like explained all the administrative stuff like how to sign up for courses, what moodle is, etc. so i didn't learn anything new. and i looked around to see what kind of people study economics and management. and i really felt out of place. idk, maybe it's my "not like other girls" syndrome or idk what. but i really felt like i didn't belong. contrary to what id imagined, it was mostly women. mostly my age and older. a couple of people in their 30s-40s too. but mostly like yeah, girlies in their mid to late twenties. dressed in skinny jeans. and michael kors bags. all with straight or straightened hair. the vibe was very much french, no offense... and the few guys who were there were also very french. like skinny jeans and hair that's like shaved on the sides. it was giving tiktok fuckboys circa 2020.
then we were split up into our different master programs. and our group only had 11 people. 3 guys, 8 girls. mostly foreign and like half poc. so there was me, a girl who just moved from spain who worked for this like eu organisation in paris, an indian girl who did econometrics and maths, a hijabi girl and a moroccan (?) girl who both did their bachelors here, a guy who just moved from lebanon, an asian girl who did international relations here, a girl who's doing a second masters, and a guy i went to hs with who studied in exeter. and that was quite awkward cos he came up to me like "heyyy you went to [school name], right?" and i was like ummmm who are you. and he was like "yeahh we had german and maths together". and i had no idea who he was. and then he said his name and that also didn't ring a bell at all. i was like bro i am so sorry.
so yeah, the head professor explained how the program works, like how many credits you need, what classes to take, etc. he was very cool and i started to get more enthusiastic about doing this actually.
and then we all had drinks in the main hall and i talked to the spanish girl, the 2nd masters girl and the high school guy.
and yesterday i looked at my schedule and registered for each of the courses on moodle. and... had a mental breakdown...
because it sounds like my worst nightmare.
first of all, im gonna have to write essays. i haven't written an essay since high school. i don't know how to cite. i don't know how to read either tbh. like how do i read a paper about economics?? i don't know what any of it means.
i looked at the syllabus for every course. and none of it makes sense. i don't even believe in inflation. like isn't inflation a deviantart fetish? and wtf is gdp. like.
secondly, 60% of the grade for these courses is group projects. again, i haven't done a group project since high school. it terrifies me. like. the responsibility of working with people. is terrifying. and you have to make a powerpoint presentation and write a paper. in a group! like.... how???? i don't know how to do either of these things.
and for the elective courses i was like okay im gonna pick the maths ones bc there's no way in hell that im gonna choose to write even more essays. but! the maths electives that i have are all programming! i don't know how to code! you need to know python! and like how to do like time projections and shit. ive only done matrix multiplication on matlab in like the first semester of my bachelors. i fucking hate computers and matlab was hell, i didnt undertand any of it, it was my worst grade. so how am i gonna do python?
another thing that sounds like absolute hell is coursework. in maths it was easy. you go to class (or don't, up to you!) and you have an exam at the end of the year and that's your grade. but here you have papers to hand in every week. and graded homework. and presentations. my lazy ass is actually gonna have to work throughout the year. i thought about it yesterday and cried.
anyway, studying economics sounds like a neurodivergent nightmare.
and okay i thought id stop there but!!! the topics that im gonna have to write papers on... y'alll.... i don't give a shit about the economic impact of russian sanctions like
Tumblr media
how do i give a shit ????
and i looked at the first problem set and at first i was like oooo maths! looks familiar! but the thing is, i can't read. like whenever i see a word problem my brain just makes the internet dial up noise. wtf does this mean???
Tumblr media
i showed it to my stepdad and he was like "huh that's easy, that's just cross multiplication". and guys. you don't understand. but i don't know how to do percentages. i don't know how to solve first degree diff equations. i can't do basic maths. i can only prove theorems on abstract topics and that's it. 2+2 i don't know her. what the fuck is a growth rate. like. i can't read.
fuck. i am so stressed.
