Look I'm not American, I'm Australian but I grew up in an impoverished rural town and when I was in year 11, the second last year of highschool they had a thing called literally "Baby Think It Over" which was a realistic baby doll, programmed to cry and fuss like a real infant and it had sensors inside it that recorded when the head wasn't supported or how long it cried or how long you took to change the nappy or give it the bottle or if it got shaken.

It was a tool to scare teenage girls, essentially. Why offer sexual health info or mental health care or financial support or educational support when you could have a doll for two days and have to bring it home and to class!

They are called RealCare Baby now.

okay americans i gotta ask because as an European i grew up with lots of american shows and cartoons and in a lot of them there was an episode where they give the protags a doll or an egg or a bag of flour or whatever and told them pretend to be its parents or something

i need finish reading this book because i got half way through and i really wanted to look up fanart because everything described sounded so cool but then i got spoiled for the ending of the first book and it just turned me off of reading it 😭 i really like gideon and harrow though and i was enjoying the book a lot !! so im going to give it another try on the train on my way to see my friend. theyr the one who gifted the book to me actually haha
