˚₊‧꒰ა benefits of journalling ໒꒱ ‧₊˚

• helps to regulate emotions

• understand yourself better

• a fun pass time! ♡

• analyse you, your habits, thoughts, etc

• de-stresses, relieves & relaxes

• productive & away from social media

• gives you control over something

• a way for you to get everything out, big or small, good or bad ♡

🧸𓂃 ࣪˖ chapter 1: beginnings

ok! so journalling is mentioned a lot in the girlblogger, wonyoungism, self growth, loa etc etc side of tumblr but when i actually took that advice started it was really really daunting and i procrastinated it for aaaages. so this is here to help you start a fun girly hobby that will help you out on your journey 🩷🎀

♡ the most important thing when beginning ur girl journal is figuring out its purpose. is it to plan, is it to document, is it for healing, is it for personal development, is it for manifestation, is it to glow up, is it for creativity, is it just to have fun? it makes it a lot easier to think of ideas once you have a set purpose in mind, but obviously it can be anything you want, any combination of these, or something other than these. i personally do a combination of emotional healing, personal development, manifestation, glow up, gratitude & just having fun, but its whatever u want bae. <3

♡ okay! first plan of action; get a notebook. obviously. lined or plain, black or white, big or small doesn't matter. anything you feel most comfortable and most drawn to. ♡

♡ second, establish a range of pens, pencils, colours, etc. you're going to be using so you can keep consistent (if thats your thing) and make it all pretty! you can tailor this to you in any way; said range doesn't have to be big, you can literally just use the same biro and 2 colours, pencils, all the colours, one colour, or none if you want; its all yours! ♡

♡ lastly, i'd suggest to gather a bunch of stickers and materials and fun cute things ur gonna add in the pages of your journal, as it makes it pop off the page and look more visually appealing and layed and feel more interesting overall. i use stickers, coloured paper, ribbons, receipts, doodles, print outs, logos, labels, gems, sticky notes, and things i find from my daily life too. you don't have to do that much or any at all if you don't want to, but i highly recommend it! just for ur personal enjoyment ♡

one thing i'd suggest is trying not to keep a strict schedule on it, like "i have to journal every day etc" because i did this and it demotivated me sooo much. don't do that! just do it when you feel you want to! it's supposed to be fun, not a chore!

🧸𓂃 ࣪˖ chapter 2: setup

♡ okay so! once you've got all the basics set up, i feel it should be pretty self explanatory from here onwards, but since this is a guide i'm not gonna leave u by yourself. this is optional, but if you're planning on making journalling a hobby or a regular habit, i'd say the first thing you wanna do is enhance & expand. find some plastic folders to attach or create paper pockets or little sections where you can put resources to stick in in ur journal so you have more space, customise, and so on. i feel this is very overlooked but its sooo fun and its really creative and and makes it so unique to you <3

♡ one thing i'd suggest too if you're doing this especially or just for any type of journal really is looking on pinterest for inspo!! this is for everything really. covers, layouts, page inspo, page ideas, customisation, journal prompts, shadow work, titles, doodles etc. i keep a board of these on my pinterest & it really helps <3

♡ one of the first things i did when i set up my journal a few months ago was do one page just an index of pages to make so i had a basic structure to go off of. this went from basic journal pages you see everywhere like about me pages n all that to the most obscure shit you could possibly imagine. this is helpful because it gives you a frame to work off of when you're at a loss for what to do in ur journal. i already have a post on this so i really recommend that if ur looking for ideas cus there's LOADS <3

another thing on pinterest; don't force urself to stick to a specific theme you've found or try and avoid doing or writing certain things in ur journal cus you wanna stick to a specific aesthetic! again, it's supposed to be fun, not a chore, and it's supposed to be completely unique to you, like a physical version of your inner world. its perfectly fine to take inspo, just remember its yours. you are your own person & you don't have to show it to anyone, it doesn't have to make sense to them, just have fun 🩷

Tw: rant, sexual harassment, just creepy dudes in general

I am so sick and tired of creeps going onto my blog and thinking it’s okay to come into my ask box and send me creepy shit.

Every couple of days I get people who send sexually charged messages, unsolicited dick pics, call me sexual things and I am just so sick and tired of this shit. It’s fucking disgusting and I am so fucking done.

I wish there was an easy answer to this, but there isn’t; turning off anon submissions doesn’t work because these dumbasses don’t use anon, I can report and block all I want but most of time nothing gets removed, I’m just at a loss of what to do.

I get harassed on multiple other social media platforms too, which is one of the reasons that I don’t talk about my other accounts on different platforms except for pinterest. I am genuinely scared to check these other accounts to see what people have sent me, and tumblr is becoming like this too.

Please, if you are thinking of sending me any kind of sexually charged message, picture, anything, please don’t. Please I am begging you please don’t. I am genuinely scared to check my inbox everyday because of you; I will never be interested in you, I will never want to sleep with you, I WILL NEVER WANT TO BE WITH YOU. STOP.

I’m sorry if this comes off as me complaining or if I am legitimately making a big deal out of nothing, I understand that many other people on this site have gone through similar, and even comparatively worse harassment, than me. I just want all of this to stop.

I’m going to be posting this in the girlblogger and coquette tags to spread awareness.

Listen I think it would be a great business opportunity for both of us as .. girlbloggers.... If you made a call out post about me, it would be in your best interest okay so here's the premise right, so you're going to make a 12 page Google doc about how I came to your house unannounced and started eating the decorative little soaps you had specifically there was one shaped like let's say a gingerbread house and I took a big ol' bite out of it and I dropped your decorative bathroom towels on the floor too, they were embroidered with your initials and I trampled them I just made a mess of your house and it was truly terrible right? And now obviously everyone is cancelling me and that's when I flip the script okay? The tables turn, so it turns out that you actually stole a bell pepper from my house and I had to go hungry that day because I really wanted an omelette with bell peppers so how the Tumblr crowd they're confused like oh my god who's side am I on? Bell pepper thief or soap-eating popo? And now it's a huge deal because twitter is dead this gets on the news and they interview us and at an interview you throw papers in my face and I splash water from a water bottle on you and you go "I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF YOU, YOU BEAST!", It's absolute chaos okay and THAT'S when we both release our autobiographies we get mad sales and live happily ever after and we get to go on vacation to siwa with the obscene amounts of money we made off of book sales

Ok popo so lemme set a scene. I had dental work done today, they had to numb my mouth so they could fill the last of my cavities. Only the first round of novacaine did nothing. So they numbed me again. Keep in mind I'm terrified of needles, so this is stressful. Because of the novacaine my mouth hurts, my ear hurts, my throat hurts a little, and I go home and sleep for like 6 hours. I wake up, disoriented and still hurting. I open tumblr.com. I read my asks.

Come to find out you ATE my SOAP and TRAMPLED MY EMBROIDERED TOWELS while I was ASLEEP!! I am appalled and a bit hurt. So this is my call-out post to @popo-salad, serial soap eater and towel trampler.

I ORDERED NEW HEADPHONES THE OTHER DAY!!! (all girlbloggers and girlies understand how big of a deal this is. its bigger than js headphones) AND IM SO EXCITED BC MY FRIEND RECOMMENDED THEM WHEN I SAID I NEEDED NEW ONES SO WE’LL BE MATCHING!!! okay so thanks to diya i decided that i wanna start posting on here and get into my girlblogger era. i’ve said that i wanna start vlogging/doing yt and i’ll probs do it a little before i graduate but i rlly wnna wait until i’m in college to do that. i just think being a cute college freshman doing youtube would be so fun. everyone and their mother tells me that i should do it bcos of my personality and shit. anyways, she’s not on here but i’m also getting a bit of inspo from kaya bcos she has an email list of her friends where she’ll send updates/little thoughts throughout her day and i think it’s so cute. anywaysss…. not too much to say on here just yet but i think i’ll just use this more for myself than anything. it makes me feel better doing stuff like this and posting on my priv on insta bcos i haven’t been journaling a lot lately…. but i’ll pick it back up soon. but idk i might do a post a day or smth or just when i have smth kinda big i wanna talk abt. topics will GREATLY vary from my views on stuff, love and sex, kinks, boys (and girls), complainants of life and people, anything i’m excited for, etc….

here i am, back on tumblr again, even though i was never really a big tumblr girly back in the day. i think as a teen i was only just young enough that i missed the major tumblr heyday, and saw the dawn of instagram, back when instagram was still usable (although instagram will always have a special place in my heart).

for a little while i had a myspace account, before they shut down that clone website. for some reason i met a lot of punks from poland on there - i wonder what it was about the polish punk scene that made them all get myspace.

anyway, the myspace clone shut down, and in a time when image-based media is king, what is a humble girlblogger to do but get on tumblr? i don't think i can name a single text-based platform that's really doing well right now, especially after the death of twitter. oh well. i never liked twitter anyway.

maybe i'll keep up with this tumblr thing, or maybe i'll abandon it immediately - who knows? hopefully i can find my people on here. maybe i'll talk a bit about music or

fairly self explanatory. i love u ari. there was soo much ari this month bc ive been a diehard ari stan since i was 8 and have never looked back. since yes and released in january i have been ecstatic about ag7 releasing in march after 4 YEARS of no ari so this was MONUMENTAL for me 😭😭 THE DROUGHT IS OVER ARIANATORS RISE 🩷🩷🩷

♡ 2. super real me, illit

so basically the day this album came out my best friend was spamming me about them and i only listened to them like 2 days after cuz she was annoying me about it and OH MY GOD. i listened to them and then proceeded to loop the whole album for the next 72 hours 💗 and for a debut as well is amazing ily illit girlies

♡ 3. with you-th, twice

so i wasn't much of a fan at first bc they just sounded really similar and bland to me but its grown on me a lot since it came out and i've been listening to it so much throughout the entirety of march. its just so oddly comforting in a way and feels like a hug in music form (+ rush and bloom are the best songs argue with the wall)

♡ 4. easy, le sserafim

self explanatory. i'm obsessed with le sserafim at the moment and this album is everything to me. ass shaking album 10/10

i have been revisiting one of my fav albums of all time this month and its as amazing as always. this has been my favourite album of all time since it came out and i will never ever get over k12 🩷 10000/10!!!! <3

ENTRY 06. 🏹

Dear Girlbloggers,

It’s been 13 days. I honestly didn’t even realize. I don’t know how gossip girl did it. No wonder she’s a legend. Thinking back on how these past 13 days could’ve made for some great entries makes me sad as hell. So from now on I’m holding myself to it.

Today’s topic is…black mothers and their hindrance on girlhood.

Because I am black this conversation is going to have some level of intersectionality. Sorry for every other communities but I can’t voice what girlhood and your relationships with your mothers are like simply because I’m not apart of those communities. You however can comment about it if you like.

Growing up a girl and black (alongside many other things), finding my footing in girlhood was ten times harder.

I didn’t get the chance to wear makeup in middle school like mascara and blush, I didn’t get to wear certain cute tops and dresses, I didn’t get the full unadulterated sweet and pure childhood experience. Because I’m not just a girl…I’m black too.

Since the beginning of America, certain images of certain types of people have been coined, flagged, and mutilated into some other form of who they are. These form 2D boxes that would never be able to fully encapsulate these people. Because caricatures aren’t made to help and show the world people with simple and easy to understand images, they’re made to harm.

Amongst these caricatures every race has their own, specifically their women. EA women have the Madame Butterfly and the Dragon Lady, Latina’s have the Spicy Latina Troupe, and Black woman have the Mammy and Jezebel. (note: there are more races and more caricatures. I mostly hit the most popular and easily recognizable ones.)

The Mammy is an obvious one. You know, Aunt Jamima (who I’ve been compared to too many times to count), horror character Ma, and the women from The Help. She’s this desexualized big black woman wired to be maternal. She picks up after and takes care of you with no needs of her own and is in fact happy to raise the little white children while you sell hers. From that previous sentence I hope I gave its origins away. You guessed it, it arose during the American Slave Trade.

The Jezebel is a little bit different. Where the Mammy is inherently asexual with no desire for it, the Jezebel is inherently sexual. She’s a beast that can’t contain herself. And she’s coming after you and all your superior sexual beings, your white husband. Similarly, she also arose during the American Slave Trade.

The Mammy was promoted to soothe white audiences and make sure none of them really noticed that their slaves were unhappy. It had the white girls and boys believing their Mammy was happy raising them and there was no harm actively happening to their caretakers. In fact she wanted to be there. She loved being enslaved.

The Jezebel, however, was promoted to take away any accountability from white men who chose to sleep with/rape their slaves rather than sleep with their actual partners. That way they were blame free. She seduced him not the other way around. And if you don’t keep your sons and husbands close she’ll seduce them too.

I brought these up to talk about how demonized and encapsulated femininity is for AA and black women. Most of the things that happened during slavery became information and such passed down from generation to generation. You were damned if you do and damned if you don’t.

Something prevalent that arrived from the Jezebel troupe was this idea of being “fast”. Black women in the south didn’t want their baby girls to be stolen and raped and auctioned off. They didn’t want them to garner too much attention. To prevent this from happening you were forbidden from being pretty. Your hair and clothes and everything else couldn’t look or be a certain way. You couldn’t put off a certain vibe. You couldn’t be fast.

The idea of being “fast” is this idea of little black girls rushing to grow up in an attempt to garner male attention. Red lipstick and nail polish was/is fast. Tank tops and skirts was/is fast. Long hair and straight hair without the ends bumped was/is fast.

On any other race of girl, especially white ones, it’s not seen as such, because they aren’t seen as inherently sexual beings. Instead it’s cute, she wants to be pretty or she wants to be “just like mommy.” She’s not seeking the attention of her uncles and cousins and any man walking by. She’s just being herself.

Slave parenting soon got passed down and relabeled as regular parenting. Black parents are quick to beat their kids even though Massa is no longer around. The little black girls can’t dress up and wear eye catching colors even though Massa isn’t around.

I need them to understand, especially mothers. You aren’t protecting your kid. You’re hurting them. You fell into the trap and are now your little girl’s first bully. You are no longer that little girl, instead you are the thing hurting her.

And to the mothers who do this out of fear. Fear of what someone did to you. I’m here to take that blame away. He or She didn’t touch you in that way because you were asking for it or because of any of your actions. They did it because they wanted to. It was out of desire and nothing else. Nothing you would’ve done (dressing different or walking different or having a different hairstyle) would’ve changed that. You are blameless.

Now break the cycle before something happens to your baby and she thinks the same way. You are no longer Eve from Eve’s Bayou. You are you. And you can fight it and make sure no one else ends up like her.

To Chloe Balle and all the other black girls, including myself, I’m sorry. We don’t deserve this and neither do our little girls. Do better and be better. You are loved.

Ok so I'm still alive.. Barely lol It's been such a hectic few days as I try to finish up last minute Christmas things. But I'm off work now so that makes things a little easier. It'll be nice when you're off. Not working really makes it more Christmasy you know. You have your trip soon after the big day right? Are you getting excited? I'm just glad for the chance to sleep in daily honestly 😂

She's gorgeous. I've not had a dog since I was a kid but I love visiting friends and family that do so I can get all the loving doggies provide!

Oh Pinterest is a girlbloggers best friend! I go on looking for one thing and end up in a rabbit hole for something else.

Ooh I don't think I've had cookie dough ice cream but it's going to be tried if I see it. I love most fruits but especially mangos when they're just right. So delicious. Also avocados (that's a fruit right?). How about you? What's your fav?

They're so cute. A couple of my mutuals post pics of them and they just seem like they're all so fun! I guess being family and close friends they have a bond that a lot of other bands don't have.

The tree is up but I still have to put more ornaments on. Never seems to be enough for some reason.

Oh fruitcake is definitely not for everyone and honestly I can only handle a cup or 2 of eggnog. It's almost to rich and gets kinda sickening sweet after that. I love sugar cookies. I don't mind gingerbread but it's not my go to sweet treat. Working with kids I've made my fair share of ginger bread houses and people. It's always a disaster but they have fun 😁 And growing up me and my sisters worked together on one. Such a fun activity.

Gotta run out in a bit and run a few errands when I just want to stay in my PJs all day and watch Christmas movies. I saw that the SNL Christmas special is on tonight so I'm going to sit and relax and watch it hopefully.

I know Ontario was getting some bad weather. Hope it's not too bad where you are. Does it matter to you if it's a White Christmas or not?
