Imagine a future where...

You walk into a bookstore.

Bookshelves that go far above your head are decorated with hand made art, made by kids about their favorite book, or an employee. The girl who reccomends you a book you know you'll cherish forever is bouncing on the balls of her feet as she tells you about how she loves the main character, and insists you come back to tell her what you think. The cashier opens the book you read to slide in bookmarks clearly designed by a book loving kid. She is smiling along to the music, and her coworker teases her for having a crush on the artist.

You leave the bookstore and hop onto your bike. It's a sunny day, so you'll probably go eat a sandwhich in the park while reading a book, then go home and drink some not chocolate on the couch.

It is supposed to rain tonight. And no better time to read a new book then with a cup of coco and the rain.

I’m so happy my Clifford books came today and my inner child is happy too! I loved Clifford since I was little and reading these brought me so much joy and comfort. I feel like a kid again ❤️🌷🌸🥹

I'm a lotr fan in a second generation, my mom read the first book in middle school, which was the only available translated part back then, so she had to wait for almost a decade to get the the other two parts, when she was already in uni

And of course her favorite character was Gandalf, and naturally she was devastated at his death in the first part, and had to wait for YEARS to find out he's ALIVE actually and in fact has gotten a cool power-up

I can only imagine how exciting it felt to finally possess that knowledge

It’s kind of funny that the adults who love YA and comic books and Disney and other media for kids also, apparently, want desperately to be taken seriously by other grown ups. (You know, treated like an adult.) Like ‘yes, I only read Harry Potter fanfic and watch cartoons, but damnit Barbara don’t you patronize me! I demand to be treated with the same respect as any other adult baby!’ (I’d say ‘have a drink and calm down’ but my bottle warmer is on the blink.) Does the defensiveness come from a place of insecurity or do they genuinely believe that other adults are lying when they claim to enjoy adult things? Like do they think all adults would secretly prefer to watch CocoMelon instead of HBO and play with Lego rather than have sex, but gosh darn it most grups just won’t admit it?

i think they just never grew out of the child mentality that adults are boring and lame unlike them, this fifteen year old moron, the coolest person they know (because they know like 20 people). they see adulthood as going to bed at 9 PM and having to work and do taxes and chores and watching war documentaries and reading nonfiction. it just smacks of arrested development to me, but i also like don't take that kind of adult seriously and i definitely don't put any stock in their opinions on books, films, etc., and will tell them so lol.

Making peace with the fact that love isn't meant for everyone and you even being the best version of yourself may find yourself alone and doomed by the narrative but there are still sunflowers and some beautiful shows to binge watch as i block all the thoughts of my empty home and arms is not just brave and beautiful but also painful at the same time but life is meant to be like that hurtful and yet you walk through it no matter how much blood your mouth holds.

I wasn’t planning on reading the solangelo book. I thought I’d moved on! I was growing up! I didn’t even finish Trials of Apollo!

But holy FUCK that cover, and the fact that they’re pulling a percabeth-in-Tartarus for the plot?!?! And they’re gonna save Bob!?!

Fuck it, I’m gonna buy it as soon as it comes out and bawl my eyes out and it’s gonna be INCREDIBLE
