Oprah needs to be fucking for real
Reigniting the Oprah is not of this earth discussions because how divorced are you from reality that you a billionaire would join a multimillionaire The Rock to ask the underpaid and overworked working class people to give money that would be chump change for you two.
You have a house that was unaffected due to you ability to hire firefighters privately, how about you offer the grieving families who lost everything a room at your mansion.

Thinking about how the show never talks about ana being a sexual abuser but instead treats her as a victim of bojack who she really just used and abused its pretty screwy. And the victim is the one feeling they did something wrong is just gross.
Women can abuse men .they understood with his mom but dropped the ball with ana

I'm watching this TV show about a shelter in the UK that takes in and rehomes dogs, and some of the episodes are cute (they're certainly filmed that way), but then they had this one dog get handed in called Bear--a pomeranian--because he had an issue with his legs and the owner couldn't afford the vet bill, and that got me thinking.
Wouldn't it be cheaper for the shelters just to cover the vet bills and give them back to their owners, rather than separate them, spend thousands in vet bills, and then sell them off to another family?
Not to mention the ethical aspect. Dogs are familial animals. Taking them from their families can be seriously traumatic. Then you're holding them in what is essentially a cell, where they're alone the majority of the time, looking for a wealthier family to take them when they already had a loving family.
And in the case of this particular dog, they ended up not operating on him after all and didn't call the owner back. That pissed me off. They didn't even have to put up the money for the dog, and the owner was crying when they parted. The shelter still held onto the dog and tried to adopt him out in the same episode.
That got me fucking heated. Instinctively I felt it was morally incorrect, policy be damned.
I've always thought the state was just as responsible for the welfare of the animals within their borders as the people. It's more expensive to run these shelters and all the peripheral services rather than just cover some or all of the associated costs, and it's frankly just the right thing to do. We bred these animals to be totally dependent on us and now we are morally obligated to them. I particularly believe that should fall to the state because of the reasons we can't afford to just keep and care for our animals. The same dirty legislation that is erasing the middle class is funneling pets out of loving homes into a machine that sorts the ones wealthy people want from those they don't, and what happens when you can't afford your pet and a wealthier person doesn't want them? They die.
Anyway, I could go on about that forever if allowed, but my time is worth more to me so I'm cutting it here.

considering how many transmascs were legitimately way angrier BEFORE starting T and have since calmed down significantly have we perhaps considered that maybe the reason so many cis dudes are angry and aggressive isn't because of testosterone but maybe. like. personal issues. unmet needs. a social climate that teaches them that there are only like three acceptable emotional outlets for men max and one of them is being angry and shouting

I like to think that Vulcans who come to understand that Humans just can’t try to process emotions the same way as them, it’s just healthiest to let it out in harmless ways, decide that venting and stuff should be taken just as seriously as Vulcan’s meditation time, and will encourage the Humans around them to complain about what’s upsetting them
People who are used to aloof Vulcans who avoid Humans at all cost running into one comforting a Human
“-and then they said my cheesecake was subpar, and they didn’t even bring a dish!!!”
“The purpose of this event was that every participant brings a food item of sorts, correct?”
“Yeah!!”
“And they did not follow this rule while insulting dishes that were brought?”
“Mostly just my dish but yeah >:(“
“How illogical”
“That’s what I’m saying!!!”
#star trek#Vulcans#Humans#not based on a specific thing#but I used to know this annoying couple that were ‘family friends’#who would show up to potluck dinners and the like and would either bring nothing or bring something really just. out of left field?#like a bag of frozen chicken to a bbq#and then proceed to make sure they are first even if it was stated to let kids go first#would take HUGE amounts before anyone else got a chance to get a plate#and then make off with the leftovers again even if they were already claimed for#and it wasn’t a food insecurity thing trust me I would never speak bad about a person getting food if that was even a remote chance#the adults who raised us knew them really well and we’d been to their house a ton of times#they were just dicks#and yeah. they’d occasionally insult the food. while eating the MAJORITY of it.#it was so weird at their home they would go out of their way to get the healthiest options possible#you know the really bland tasteless expensive stuff that apparently was healthier#but then if they were visiting our house they would. eat all our unhealthy snacks.#that always pissed me off so much as a kid because we actually had a food insecurity thing going on#and also a variety of other reasons that are a bit too depressing to bring up on this post#but anyways we’d hardly ever get to have nice snacks#and this couple would just take them all??? even after we’d tell them repeatedly that it was ours and those snacks weren’t gonna be#replaced#hated that couple#if you’re wondering why they were ‘family friends’ it’s because the couple who raised us#(it feels weird to type it out like that but apparently legal guardians doesn’t fit since they never finished petitioning 💀)#liked having them around because it made them look like ‘such great Christian’s’ being nice to the people#that no one else wanted to be friends with#I always thought that was a really weird and fucked up reason to be friends with someone#this got long sorry 😭

sometimes i’ll see people saying things like “respect has to be earned” which is true. if you’re not respectful then you shouldn’t expect to be respected. golden rule y’all.
but that phrase pisses me off so much because i see it used to justify not using the correct pronouns for a trans person. like- “respect has to be earned” goes both ways.
sure- it might be nice to put a shitty person down. but if you purposefully misgender someone because they piss you off, then it
1.) sends a message to other trans people that you’ll misgender and disrespect them if they make a wrong move
2.) dosn’t make you any more deserving of respect
also- i don’t think i’ve seen people who make they argument misgender cis people. if you’re gonna misgender trans people who piss you off, then you should really start doing the same to cis people. equality mate.
anyways, thanks for reading my rant.

That last reblog reminded me that Wednesday when I went to the grocery store, I was waiting at the end of the lane because someone was about to pull out of a close parking spot. And This Bitch shoved her car around mine and parks and then walks by shouting something about lazy people trying to park close. I ignored her but it’s the kind of thing bound to give me anxiety. But like, fuck you bitch, I will take every tiny plus to hoarding my dwindling spoon reserves, even if it means waiting to park 5 spaces closer to the grocery store entrance. If I could get a disabled permit and park there I would, but not all disabled people can get those in this state!! So fuck off with your ableism because you might’ve had to wait an extra two minutes to park!

Just tried radish for the first time, and it kinda sucked tbh
Like I've heard the joke of "it's called radish because the first guy who tried it said 'this is rad!..ish" and that guy must have been starving because radish is SO underwhelming. It has the texture of a mildly dehydrated watermelon and the flavour of some soup that's literally just water, a bit of salt and like 3 chili flakes.
I don't even hate it, this is just my vent blog and I want to talk about how radish sucks ass.

Aspec men deserve much more respect and recognition in the aspec community than they receive. They often face a different form of aphobia specific to them ("men are naturally sexual they can't be ace" "all men are unromantic that's not unique") this rhetoric is spouted by many, even members of our own community and I hope for a day where that is no longer the case. As an ace and demiro woman (demigirl but that's beside the point) I want to encourage folks to take the time to give the aspec men in their lives support and to the aspec men reading, you are who you say you are no matter what people say and you deserve the world. I'm sorry for the ways in which toxic masculinity has harmed you. You are a valued member of the aspec community and the queer community as a whole. No ace or aro person is broken and neither are you. I'm sorry if anyone has ever told you otherwise.
