My second favourite thing is that in season 3, Robin had the conversation about how Steve was such a douche in high school and how he’d always come in late to the class he didn’t even remember them having together and Steve went from that being one of the major negatives about him that made Robin think he was such a self-absorbed asshole and Steve didn’t try to defend it at all, he just mentally went okay, well I’m going to care more about getting Robin to school on time than I ever cared about getting myself there on time

every single day I am appalled and amazed by Misaki's characterization being leagues above so many female characters in shonen history. regarding common tropes about ganon's writing in fics, I am kind of always taken aback a little anytime ganondorf uses degrading sexist terms in fics and such. Because to me, even his most evil interpretations would probably have no reason to have negative associations with women who have sex a lot, unless he picked it up from elsewhere (like there's some room for it to be interesting psychologically speaking if that's directly addressed, but it never is). I'm not sure why the gerudos would ever cultivate these kind of misogynistic ideas in their own culture, or why Ganondorf would spontaneously decide to form any essentialist ideas he may potentially develop on the basis of promiscuity, of all things. And, if he would pick that up from Hyrule... why would he, why this, and how does that map out with him remaining proudly gerudo in most iterations if he sees any non-married woman getting funky in a negative way?

it's kind of a very small thing, but it does kind of beckons a lot of questions regarding worldbuilding and psychology and it tends to take me out of fics a little, because it's always kind of assumed and never investigated

There’s nothing to spoil. So far I have no plans to ever ship Coppernob with anyone. 

And engine relationships do exist in the Bird universe – which is not a given in my fics, lol. But Nobby will never ‘get’ this sort of thing. It’s a character arc for him that he becomes less condemnatory and more understanding about others ‘aping human affections’ (this is similar to all his internalized good-engines-don’t bullshit about naming yourself, too). Some of his attitude is because that’s what he was taught, but I also think he’s slow to move beyond it because he’s naturally the vehicular equivalent of acearo. He loves others deeply; that’s the whole series! Just… not in these kind of ways. 

If this does ever change, it will probably be because when I get around to writing his fiercely explosive relationship with Mars – F.R. 44, ex-W.&.F.J.R. 3 (this was back in the 1860s-1880s) – I find that it just runs away with me and turns into “what’s gayer, being gay or whatever these two have going on.”
