My hc about Izuna's personality is he was the talkative sibling, the one who actually had easily connected to the Uchiha clan members, unlike Madara who is shown to be kinda distant (idk if it only happens after Izuna's death or not, but considering his trust issues I don't think it's a far fetched idea)

It's stated both Madara and Izuna took over the clan, even tho Madara was the only leader, but it still means Izuna hold some power of opinion in leadership, especially bc Madara listened to him in crucial moments, he refused a "peace" truce bc Izuna advised him to

What I'm trying to say is: I believe Izuna and Madara can represent, in a lower level, yin and yang, as both work better when together, and as I said Madara's reputation within the clan got bad after Izuna died, he couldn't keep stability after many losses in war and his own loss

Madara would be yin; he can be technically described as more receptive and "passive", as he was prone to take a step abt changing how his world worked, he was interested in listening and, later on, he developed a even more critical view of this world, hence why he left Konoha

Izuna would be, ofc, yang; although we don't have much information abt him, looking at canon we can see he's more "active" and repelling, he didn't trust the Senju and told Madara to not listen to them, he wanted peace as much as his brother, just in a different way (also, he being more yang, like Hashirama, would be even more interesting, bc Izuna rightfully didn't trust him, we can even say he saw through his facade, like, I would really suspect someone's real intentions/nature if them asked for peace right after saying this:

Like, damn that's definitely not a good way to start a peaceful conversation, bro, I wouldn't trust you either

Tl;dr: Izuna could see this flaw of Hashirama's idea bc (it's kinda obvious tbh) he also understands how ppl works, as I believe him to be more yang)

As we're talking abt yin yang, ofc I'm not saying one is better than the other, they're dichotomy, no wonder why Madara got unbalanced when Izuna died

Where do you think rodrick would take a s/o on dates?

Great question! Here's some of my ideas :^)

He definitely loves arcade dates, he's an absolute beast at space invaders, and loves to play air hockey (even though he always looses). Sometimes you'll win him some sort of stuffed animal which he will refer to as his son for the rest of the day.

He likes to go to the aquarium, his favourite part is the jellyfish area because he thinks they look like cool aliens, but he's secretly scared of sharks so he always holds your hand extra tight when you go through that area.

Drive in movies are his favourite in the summer. He's got an old beat up sofa in the back of his van where you sit and cuddle watching old movies on warm summer nights.

Not exactly a date, but I think he'd definitely drag you to comic con with him. He's a big nerd at heart, and he loves how supportive you are of his fanboy antics. You even agree to go as han and leia together, because you just can't say no to him when he gets all excited.

He takes you to a lot of basement shows, some of which he plays at. He spends the whole time with his arm around you and has a tendency to get quite protective. He loves going in the pit, but gets scared when you're in there in case you get hurt.

He's not big on crowded bars, instead he likes to take you for a quiet drink at a pub (or whatever the American equivalent is #bri'ish moment) where he can have a proper conversation with you.

For special occasions he goes the whole nine yards, flowers, clean shirt, fancy restaurant. Your special occasion restaurant is always the same place, an independently owned proper old school Italian place with candles in old wine bottles, accordion music and an extensive wine list.

In contrast to the fancy dinners, you both also love cheap dates. Getting drive thru burgers in his van and finding a spot with a nice view to eat, watch the stars, and make out.

Amusement parks are a MUST for Rodrick, despite how easily scared he is of most things, he's actually pretty fearless when it comes to scary rides. He loves being able to hold your hand and reassure you that everything is fine (since normally it's the other way around).

He doesn't really understand museums, but he likes to go to them with you and listen to to you explaining what all the artifacts are and why they're important. He still doesn't really understand any of it, but he thinks it's so attractive when you explain things to him.

If you don't mind me sharing, here are a couple of mine for IshiMondo;

Whenever they end up fighting over something, the conversations always derail into them just shouting things at each other. They don't understand how it happens, either. Just goes from "YOU NEED TO TAKE OUT THE TRASH WHEN I ASK YOU TO TAKE IT OUT!" to "MAYBE WE SHOULD GET SOME NUTELLA NEXT TIME WE GO TO THE STORE."

They are so awkward when it comes to actually dating. Neither of them thought they would get this far, so sometimes they end up making really awkward small talk, going beet red, then just opting to hold hands instead.

I think it'd be really funny if their relationship is extremely whirlwind. Based on how they become friends for life in less than a day, they'd probably end up married by the end of the week.

(Bonus points if they hardly realize they're dating, too. "Since when were you two dating?" "Dating? Oh, no, this is just what we bros do!" "Bros kiss each other on the lips..?")

Sometimes Mondo likes to randomly hug Taka just to make sure he's still there and that he's okay :)

They don't show much PDA not only because it's not appropriate in a school environment (hehe), but also because Mondo gets too embarrassed to actually do anything.

Mondo seems like the easily flustered type to me. It's just funny imagining him getting a quick kiss on the cheek from Taka as he's running off somewhere and being caught off guard so he just hides in his collar.

Taka sometimes says stuff that can be misconstrued as dirty, but he has no idea since he's rather naive when it comes to that sort of stuff. Mondo knows, though, and often refuses to elaborate on why he's laughing lol

Ok that was kind of a lot, sorry lol. I'll stop there.

These are all super cute! And the head canon that they don't know how to romance is absolutely amazing given that Taka probably hasn't dated anyone before and Mondo has an 11 girl losing streak when it comes to asking girls out! Also i think Taka would be calmer with PDA while Mondo is a bit more expressive, if you know what I mean? He'd definitely be the kinda guy to hold hands with Taka a lot, and he doesn't miss an opportunity for a big ol bear hug, but that's only if there's not a lot of people around. They both silly and get embarrassed easily so they'd take it slow with PDA!

And they have fights like any couple but I feel like they wouldn't last long because they'd communicate really well and express their opinions and why they're upset! Plus the subject change you spoke about during their fights would happen, like, every time they got into one lmao.

here have a sparrow related rant :D (dndads ep 48 spoilers!!)

btw, my entire perception (or all together understanding) of sparrow oak has shifted after this episode-

i think unconsciously i saw the twins as completely different people, like wildly different from eachother, after season 1 and in season 2

but honestly- after we find out that sparrow is the one who enacted code purple, the conversation with henry and mercedes? i still see them as different characters, but i feel like they are actually way more similar than i initially thought

they're just both two guilt ridden idiots, and at first i was really confused why it seemed like sparrow would always group himself with lark when talking about who "ended the world" or whatever (i thought it was probably him saying it in solidarity or whatever, which i think is still partially the reason) but now he also basically did what lark did

i think thats whats heartbreaking to me, because henry immediately forgives lark after he releases the doodler, but sparrow is immediately told he will never be forgiven, and where lark has the motive of wanting to defeat the doodler and become stronger, sparrow has the motive of just wanting to protect his family-

im not saying this is out of character of henry, i definitely think this is how he'd react since he has the knowledge of exactly what code purple will do, and we also know that sparrow tried to lie to him to enact it as well, but its just- fuck

personally i think because of how lark and henrys relationship is in late s1 (and afterwards) henry probably was unconsciously more attentive to lark afterwards, trying to repair that broken relationship- and so his perspective of sparrow is different, sparrow usually goes along with lark and backs him up but he never actually argues with henry or whatever,

so when sparrow does something that he does himself, it seems so off and random to henry, personally i think if he had to think about it that lark would be the twin that what would be most likely to be the one to do it, a lot of it is sparrow acting on his own principle and we really don't see that often, (blah blah, its lark and sparrow not sparrow and lark, blah blah)

basically i think that it was so unexpected of sparrow that henry immediately freaks out and is more aware of the betrayal than he was back when the doodler was released,

im relistening to the mummy issues arc in s1, and was listening to scene of henry and darryl arguing about the pyramid, and i think that's really the thing yk? because henry's moral compass is more pointed towards being selfless, where sparrow seems to be on the opposite side of that in this situation

for example, henry wants to go and get arrested by neverwinter because they had let the pyramid fall instead of trying to save lark and sparrow from the omegadads, which makes sense that he doesn't approve of code purple because it would put faerun in danger, even though it would mean his family would be safe,

and then sparrow, who enacts code purple because even though it would destroy faerun, he and his family would be safe,

ive seen people compare code purple to the trolley problem- and honestly, i agree so much, its similar, where if the same amount of people are on both tracks but one has your friends and family/people you love on one side as well,

really sparrow was put into such a huge position of either way he will end up hurting someone, his 6-year-old son is attacked by a flesh hoard that he can get rid off by flicking a single switch, and of course he's going to do it, even if that means his parents never want to speak to him again and that he dooms another plain of existence to destruction

im just in love with how much this podcast spins morality around, it can be so incredibly philosophical for being a dungeons and dragons podcast about a bunch of stupid dads, it really makes you realize how complicated humans are

How does the moive where Kid pretends to be Hakuba factor into your Hakuba is actually trying to befriend Hattori but keeps rubbing the guy the wrong way. I really like that take btw.

That is a very good question.

Sorry it took a bit longer to answer this one, I went back and rewatched the movie since it's been a while. Anyway....

And damn is it hilarious that Hattori see's 'Hakuba' in that movie and is just like 'who the fuck is this?' I always forget about that, and it will never not be funny to me that this movie came out shortly after the detective Koshien being happening in the manga. So there's a bit of a chicken or the egg situation here on if the movie comes before the detective Koshien or after (considering how long it takes a feature length animated movie to be made....)

To paint everyone here in as positive a light as possible I'm going to move on the assumption that the movie goes first then the Koshien happens not long after. (Because this way Hattori isn't just denying that he knows Hakuba when he's already met him, then proceeding to have a repeat conversation about how they're both children of police chiefs.)

And it's interesting that they have that conversation that kinda mirrors the one at the Koshien when they meet here because even though there's a lot similar in both of these 'first meetings' the vibes are totally different. Conan being weirded out when 'Hakuba' bends down to wink at him after never treating him like a child before, and Hattori picks up on Conan being unsettled even if he doesn't understand why and that results in Hattori being more quiet and observing instead of being prickly.

Though really a lot of this speaks more to Kaito than it does Hakuba since this is inevitably the result of Kaito trying to act like Hakuba, but his goal isn't to perfectly replicate Hakuba, the disguise is just a means to the end of helping Hattori and Conan, so it's not a problem if he's a little out of character as long as he's helping. Kaito isn't an investigator, but he's good at talking to people and he's good at action so he helps how he can while playing Hakuba. And ultimately this results in an impression of Hakuba that's slightly clumsy as a detective but reliable when it comes down to it.

I think that if this were a 'first meeting' that Hattori was allowed to remember he'd probably end up with a better over all impression of Hakuba, because rescuing Conan definitely earned some respect points.... but it wouldn't be a correct one, because that's just not Hakuba.

Frankly I love the dynamic that results from Hakuba trying to be friendly with Hattori in the same way he is with Kaito, only for Hattori to take it the wrong way. And I'm gonna stick to that unless Gosho gives me another case where they're both there.

Since I'm talking about this movie anyway, I'm going to bring up something else I've mentioned before, but this is the only time we ever see Hakuba not wearing clothes that read as business casual. And the fact that that's Kaito's fault means that either this is the kind of clothes he casually wears when we don't see him..... or Kaito decided to take the chance to play dress up- and I kinda hope it's the later, because while it's not a bad outfit or anything but it just kinda doesn't look right on him.

But anyway that's probably enough rambling for now. Hope that answered the question.

i usually think of them as childhood friends to lovers, in the most classic, truly-felt sense, but the variety of options is so interesting.

child monarchs with an arranged marriage in name only, strangers who quickly become lovers, who later find out the other is the prince/princess of the city's other half of the populace, mistaken identity shenanigans - plenty of fair-haired mannish mariners around balar, while elwing has internalized the idea that she has to tone down constantly her otherworldly presence and can pass as an elf most of the time.

any of them is good! the end result is the same. the big square - the trumpets of the iathrim, and flutes of gondolin. a thousand eyes on them, and two people's expectations and hopes, numberless griefs. they are wed. they are fruitful. they are a family.

they are a family. they are close to each other when it is such an effort and a danger to be close to anyone. they understand each other's trauma. elwing delights in the earth and eärendil in the sea, and in the end they both belong to the heavens. but they're each other's grounding place, always.

btw, i am lowkey obsessed with the fact that all seabirds are said to travel to elwing's tower. all of them, john ronald? does she single-handedly change a thousand years of migration patterns in the wake of the destruction of beleriand, or what. this is an insane line. does eärendil watch the vast flocks from the heavens, a single moving shadow upon the surface of arda, and rejoice because his wife will be joyful and in good company?

maybe not. but eärendil definitely keeps coming home to the most fantastic combination of colourful feathers of every kind, and it is the single most beautiful spectacle in nature, i mean, mind-breakingly gorgeous. but most glorious still is the small smile on elwing's cheeks when small fledglings attempt their first flight by jumping from the shelter of her arms, certain she will grab them if they fail.

eärendil gave her the choice. elwing has had so few choices, and he has always wanted her to have all that which she most wanted.

(and they are happy. it is so important that, one day, some days, they are as happy as they can be).

turgon/finrod

they!!! the lads! the nerds themselves! where to even begin. they are bffs and fwb and qpr and secretly married and fond exes. everyone who wants something about them should go read @sallysavestheday's Keep Your Secrets.

i want to have so many more thoughts on them because i love this ship so much. but one thing i am sure of is that they invent a new word in beleriand specifically so they can do the fun 'start calling each other partner naturally and never explain anything to anyone' fashion.

finrod carved busts of turgon in nargothrond and showed them to every visitor, told beor a hundred tales of his dearest friend. there was a small, fist-sized miniature in turgon's long sleeves, a two-sided thing with elenwe on one side and finrod in the other, two halves of the same whole (and the whole is turgon's heart).

actually i think they only get officially together post-mandos, in the shared-life sense, whatever that looks for them by then. build a city; start a mellower revolution. every conversation feels like picking up the thread of a long discourse, even after hundreds of years, or after death; and it is the most interesting conversation in the world, every time.

it's fluid, it's open. comfortable. vivid! so much is strange after rebirth, but they are never strangers to each other. recognize each other absolutely after ruin and hubris and horror, when making the way through estrangement is a foundational experience in rebirth.

they are most trustworthy and familiar and dear person in the room in every room to each other, the one they can leave behind without remorse because they know they will always find their way back together at the end of any long separation.

it is whatever they need it to be, and their faith in their connection and in each other is strong enough that it never fades.

A child wanting to experiment with gender expression isn’t really an indicator of like having a trans identity per say. It means she is being influenced by our culture to associate some characteristics with being a boy and some being a girl: e.g., she is being culturally indoctrinated to believe in gender roles. Instead of going along with that sexist thinking, you could ask her what it means to be a boy, and why she can’t do or be those same things as a girl

right, so, id say the main problem with this ask is you immediately dismissing a child's thoughts and feelings about their gender simply because they are a child. if only due to the fact that you and i, as Real Life People, should be able to have a mutual understanding that since i, a Real Person, am saying that the fictional character is gender-fluid, that would mean they're gender-fluid and there's not room for interpretation or argument bc i SAID they are? gender-fluid? and this is my character that i made up?

if your issue is simply seeing a comic depicting a young child Realizing Some Things About Gender, well that's definitely a you problem.

and i really must note it here, bc it's so amusing to me: this claim that victoria is only asking to be a boy all of a sudden bc they, like, want to do something but think they cant bc it's a Boy Thing? but nothing in the comic implies that. vic doesn't ask "can I be a boy tomorrow so i can go play in the mud and eat bugs and wrestle the other boys, activities which are forbidden to me because i am a girl, btw what's up with that?", they just ask it out of the blue with no apparent trigger. and the 'mommy/daughter day' line is only in there so i could have vic ask about "switching back" and realize that yes, they can be a boy or a girl (or neither or both) whenever they feel like it.

the thing is anon, if there was actually anything you brought up worth discussing, it's currently only in service of delivering a weird, terfy rhetoric, and thus is no longer worth attempting to have a constructive conversation about. im so sorry if you're having to learn this way..... maybe you should take a day or two to reexamine your personal reaction to my lighthearted comic and see how you feel afterwards

I’m curious since I also think that Az/Gwyn and Elain/Lucien will be together…how do you think SJM will write AZ moving on from Mor? I interpreted Az and Elain as kind of rebounding but I really don’t want those vibes to translate to Gwynriel. Im just curious if you had any thoughts on how that could be done. Also, Mor is still a mystery to me btw!

I am in complete agreement. Az and Elain definitely read as a rebound and while it doesn't necessarily seem to have been a positive experience for either one, I think it was healthy for them because it shows they're both willing to try to move forward. Obviously Mor / Az and Elain / Graysen were never meant to be but I don't think it can be denied that Az really did love Mor and Elain really loved Graysen and letting go of your first love is difficult. You would never want to jump into another intense and serious relationship before you've really had time to move on from that first love and I don't really think that Az or Elain were there yet when they developed an interest in one another. But, since (in my opinion) the POV closed the door on E/riel, it served its purpose in helping them come to terms to a life without Mor and Graysen. Not completely, but enough that they can really start to understand why those first loves might not have been right for them.

I do think Az's book is going to start with him finally acknowledging how difficult it's been for him to really accept that he and Mor aren't going to ever be a thing. And I think "THE" conversation with Mor is finally going to happen. Az might have started the process of letting her go but I think her coming out to him is going to free him of any lingering hope. I think once he gets that clarity, he'll be able to acknowledge that he's maybe had some subconscious awareness of Mor's preference for quite awhile and I really do think that's all going to put him in a place of seeing what is in front of him with Gwyn.

I don't think you have to worry about their relationship being tainted because SJM did a good job of having Feyre deal with her past with Tamlin before really bringing in her emotions for Rhys and I think Gwynriel will be like that but flip flopped, where Gwyn may have suspected that she and Az were something though she wanted to give him time to work through things (in the way Rhys did with Feyre).

Gwyn doesn't strike me as a character who would feel put out over the realization that Az was going through some stuff and wasn't immediately head over heels for her. I think those kinds of feelings would all be so new to her too that she'd want things to move at a comfortable pace for herself as well.

I also feel like SJM is starting Mor on a path which takes her away from the NC more regularly which would a good thing. Regardless of how moved on Az is from Mor, you don't necessarily want that constant reminder for Gwyn.

Ooo, thank you for the question anon! My header is no lie, so I am ecstatic for this question! Buckle in, you are getting Answers! (but under a cut, my answers have gone on for a while and I'm not gonna make everyone scroll past them lol)

I'll explain Roman and Noise first, cause it's easier to put into words. Basically, if you compare Roman and Noise to each other, you can see that they're both very kind people at heart, or at least in Noise's case, they started out so, and that's an intriguing thing to me. It shows off a kind of theme of how the cruelty of the bard college really affected Noise, enough that they've hidden those softer parts of themself behind a very obnoxious front and don't show them as much as they seem to used to, whereas Roman, who was raised in a much more kind situation, is still very open about them.

Oh, and in addition: where Roman wants to be worthy of his family's legacy and sword, Noise does seem to take a lot of issue with nobody seeing them as worthy of their first chair position. I do have a few other thoughts on this, like how those similarities could affect Youngblood, but those are the two major points that I find interesting to compare to each other.

As for Roman and Ryker, it's harder to describe exactly what about them is good for comparing, but it's still definitely worth some thought.

First, I'm gonna talk about the scene in the Communicave, because even though that's the dream demon pretending to be Ryker, I do think it's interesting that it asks "Am I not enough for you?" to Roman when he asks about his mother. Sure, it could just be the dream demon trying to guilt him, but I don't think it's too out of the realm of possibility to consider that it could reflect Ryker himself having an insecurity about not being enough for Roman, because that concept had to have been somewhere in Roman's thoughts of him. Roman's very emotionally intelligent from what we've seen so far, maybe in previous conversations where Roman had brought up wanting to know more of the world than Reston, Roman had picked up on that.

So here, we have a possibility that they both worry about not being enough for the other, and that's something I find interesting to think about. Could it be a generational issue in their bloodline, one that goes further back than even Ryker? Maybe putting so much emphasis on their family legacy has been affecting that family's ability to communicate with each other for a while now.

And in addition, when so much of what Roman wants to be relates to his dad in some way, comparing their qualities can tell us a lot about Roman, too. I won't go as deep into this, just to leave everyone with some comparisons of their own to do, but for example: Ryker is most definitely a protector. That's his main job in Reston, he guards the town, and it's the role Roman has always seen him fulfill. And that just adds a fun little extra note to the fact that Roman's Sanctuary ability, the one that lets him protect others, is the one considered important enough that it's on his trading card. Forgive me for using the cheesiest possible idiom here, but like father, like son, huh?

(also thank you for taking interest in Roman and Ryker as a pairing, I would be More than willing to rant about them too, but this post is already so long so I'm just gonna leave it at this acknowledgement. They are simply so. Yeah <3)

So I'm thinking about conversation I had the other day about The Banshees of Inisherin (warning for maybe some spoilers for that btw) and how one part of it in particular can be applied I think quite well to Goncharov.

Theres this quote by Nietzsche;

"The life of the enemy . Whoever lives for the sake of combating an enemy has an interest in the enemy's staying alive."

And we were talking about how in Banshees they reach this point where neither of them can sever the relationship between them despite, at least one-sidedly, the surface level plot being this attempt to do exactly that.

Theres a lot of definitely valid queer readings of Goncharov and the characters. And while that’s not the same for banshees, there is in both films, the intensity of this relationship between these two men.

There's an intimacy to that.

And I'm thinking about the way that Goncharov and Andrey cannot escape each other. Cannot escape the way that they are destined by the narrative to be the end of each other, one way or another, that they have to. It's narratively one of the key points. He will be betrayed and it will cost Andreys life. There will be a point in the story that they cannot return from. (A dead donkey for example)

And yet until that happens they are ultimately each other's reason for living, because they have to be the others end.

While the other is still alive there is a purpose. They give each other a direction to travel, a goal to reach.

I think it's interesting that within both films part of what causes the intensity and the volatility of these relationships - to reach a point where you have sworn to kill somebody who *could* be, under different circumstances, as close as brother (or lover)- is the construction of the environment they are in.

In Banshees they are in this incredibly small community on an island, they are isolated and forced into relation with each other because they are each others only real options for connection. There is precious little else. And that is in part a huge theme of the film. This conflict between contentment and longing for more and for meaning.

You can see the parallel here with the mafia setting of Goncharov. This inescapable world of violence that is a closed-loop. If you're in it you're in it and the others in it with you are really, realistically, your only options for any kind of real relationship. Because they'll understand the life you live and the danger inherent to it. And the conflict illustrated by a number of characters, of the whole hearted commitment of oneself to that life and the longing for something else. Something where you don't have to kill each other over pride and greed and power.

Part of the tragedy of what we see between these two in Goncharov is how impossible it is for them to survive their own narratives, both of them. The only way that either of them can live is while in the motion of story. While they are on what is essentially a collision course with their own doom. Of course that comes with a count down. A lit fuse. A ticking clock.

So they 'live' but we constantly feel this background sense of urgency, of the fate looming over them. And we also know that once the one of them is dead, isn't there to give focus or direction to the other, all the rest will also fall away.

The destruction caused by them to their surroundings and the other characters is simply a precursor. Or an explicit extrapolation of the implicit, inner destruction they have and will cause to themselves through doing what we (and to not insignificant extent, they) know they must do in the end.

One of them was always going to kill the other and in doing so will essentially kill himself.

So of course they also have a vested interest in keeping each other alive.

.. it helps that they're also very much in love of course.

More Santi thoughts (also brief warning for skin picking):

-He likes being organized, but also has terrible object permanence, so what ends up happening is that he knows exactly where the really important stuff is, and the rest is… somewhere. -Santi is good at reading people he knows really well, but it's something he had to consciously learn, rather than something natural to him. He has a hard time interpreting facial expressions especially, and even more so around people he doesn't know. -There's a fine line between routine and boredom. He likes having a schedule and making a list of what he needs to do, but he makes sure that not everything is exactly the same every day. -Scented soap is gross. It's fine on its own or on other people, but if he uses it, the smell gets overwhelming very quickly, and he used to think he was allergic to it, because it would make his skin feel really itchy. what no I'm not like this at all /s -There are a lot of social/conversational norms that Santi just. does not get, but a big one is eye contact. Brief eye contact is fine, a little weird especially if it's accidental, but it is what it is. Prolonged eye contact, on the other hand, feels very unnatural to him, and he usually looks at someone's forehead instead if he's in a situation that requires it. -Mostly, he just doesn't understand why it's rude not to make eye contact. Like, as long as you're looking at the person and paying attention, why does it matter if you're looking at their eyes or not? -He picks at his skin whenever he's bored or tense. It's mainly on his arms and hands, and occasionally his face. Mostly, he picks existing scabs, the skin around his fingernails, and his calluses. -As someone with calluses, they are the worst thing for a skin picking habit, because there's always some rough skin to pick at and it's very hard to stop. I will stop there but rest assured there are definitely more thoughts bouncing around in my brain. also why is the spacing so weird help

Btw Wolfe is also autistic I'm assuming. I cannot imagine Santi wanting to date anyone neurotypical.

Imagine early in their relationship- like immediately post stormcrow- whenever Santi tries to talk to Wolfe he just tells himself make eye contact make eye contact make eye contact because apparently people think you don't like them if you don't look at their eyes and Santi wants Wolfe to know he likes him. Meanwhile Wolfe is going why is he trying to make eye contact with me no stop gross. Eventually the disaster gays COMMUNICATE and realize they both hate eye contact and they're both good with that.

Skin picking yes SO true. I can't remember the title but I read a fic where Santi picked at the burn scar (the Philadelphia one) when he was stressed and this has been promoted to canon. Also thank you for warning but this sign won't stop me because I can't read and now I want to pick at my face.

More thoughts on Wolfe and Santi both being autistic: They love to infodump to one another and they both love to be infodumped to. Wolfe goes on for two hours about some obscure historical fact and Santi is just about ready to propose. They also both love parallel play a lot. Not talking just existing in the same space (and probably reading because they're fuckin nerds).

Since y'all seemed to enjoy this post, have the 'thread' i made on twitter for it, but with more detail. 😂

TLDR; Karl jokes about calling Emelia his wife and... she... agrees...???

(Completely non-canon btw, but a fun dumb thing- but I MAY work more with it if requested...? 👀)

He was honestly joking. It was just a stupid idea that crossed his mind after a few comments he had heard, and he decided to say something since he knew she had heard them, too.

But the last thing he expected was for her to agree, even jokingly, and he almost wished he had kept his mouth shut...

Almost.

Because as awkward as it was, the conversation following was... oddly calm. It was a rare, genuine conversation between the two that led to a mutual agreement and understanding. It wasn't like they hadn't talked about stuff like that before, with theur talks of plans after freedom and whatnot... The only difference was that they had never considered... well, eachother. She was his assistant and occasional 'partner', and both were just far too busy and distracted for something like that. And they're both dense as fuck- Not to mention, there wasn't THAT kind of attraction between them...

Right?

Nah, definitely not. Sexual and physical, yes. Romantic? Hm. Doubtful. (😏)

But, as pointed out by Emelia multiple times before and during this conversation, some individuals of the village didn't take her as seriously as they did Heisenberg. So, in the end, it was moreso a 'status' thing agreed upon by the two. But, just for 'fun', y'know?

'Fun'.

But there was... DEFINITELY alot more to work through than simply saying 'hey we're married, some respect please', and uh... that 'alot more' unfortunately had to do with... 'family'.

The other Lords and Miranda, to be exact.

So of course, the easiest course of action was to bring her to the next meeting. That meeting, of course, felt like a long time coming by the time the day arrived, and admittedly both of them were just two giant balls of nerves.

"Are we really going through with this...?"

"You're the one that agreed, Doll. For the record, I was joking."

She knew he was joking. She knew full well he was joking. Even as she sat next to him like usual during the meeting, she knew he had been joking, and she wondered what ungodly force made her open her mouth and agree. She wondered as the meeting progressed, to which she wasn't paying attention at all because how could she, and she wondered as it came to an end and Karl stood up and addressed Miranda personally. She wondered as she heard the other Lords make comments, listening to him shoot back insults to silence them. It was 'important', he said. She wondered as Miranda questioned him, and couldn't help but flinch as he spoke loud and purposeful, simply to drown out the chaos of the others that had erupted-

"I'm taking a wife."

His words followed closely by abrupt silence... and then laughter. Specifically laughter from Dimitrescu, and even a chuckle from Miranda- but Alcinas words even burned Emelia;

"What proper woman in their right mind would EVER take a beast such as yourself to be wed?"

Emelia wasn't a proper woman. Hell, sometimes she didn't even feel like a 'woman' at all, only considered one for obvious reasons, and he knew that. She was just... there. But that jab and Karls resulting angered silence in the following laughter were painful, and she couldn't stop herself from speaking up despite never intending to.

"Me."

Silence again, this time all eyes on her;

Including Karl.

She suddenly stands, slowly makes her way to stand next to him, and has a staredown with the woman they both despise, all while he and the other Lords are staring at her liks she's gone mad, though his stare goes between her and Miranda. Miranda obviously isn't gonna be like 'oh yeah sure, go ahead', because why would she? But hey, this is the most amusement she's had in a while, so she'll bite.

"And why, pray tell, would you be willing to do so?"

Both Emelia and Karl know damn well this is a trick question. She can't FULLY admit care towards him gods forbid Miranda takes that as a challenge, but she also doesn't want it to seem like she's using him which ALSO seems like a challenge.

"Because I want to." Is her simple reply. When asked for more of a reason, she more or less gives the 'we've been living together for this long, I'm basically already his partner, may as well make it official' type speech, and... Miranda actually agrees.

She ACTUALLY agrees to allow them to do so, which pretty much floors everyone but Moreau, who seems excited to welcome his best friend into the 'family'.

But who will 'officiate'? When will it be done? What kinda hoops will they have to jump through?

Well, the answer comes easily, and through quick thinking on Emelias part-

Duke.

He can do 'anything', and he likes them enough... Why not ask him, right?

So, they do.

Its actually a surprisingly painless process and Duke is, of course, excited for them; especially when he offers to do it that very moment.

"It's not often we get a 'happy' couple such as you! And for a Lord, no less. Please, allow me."

And, with Miranda and the other 3 there to bear witness(and a few villagers peeking), it was done.

It was... probably one of the most awkward kisses they've shared, honestly...

But sweet dear lord, the look he gave her afterwards was enough to nearly have her on her knees.

Bright eyes and a small reassuring smile that they could go home after this and the gentle hand at her lower back while giving short thanks to Duke nearly made her pass out from embarrassment, and she ended up leaning on him and attempting to hide her reddening face.

It wasn't until Miranda spoke a few words that they could finally leave, and she just... clung to him the entire way back. She had no idea what the hell to say or do, now she was 'married' to a Lord out of a whim and a joke, and even already experienced a few 'Lady Heisenberg's here and there from the villagers who had seen. But Karl himself was... surprisingly calm.

"That was eventful."

"'Eventful' is... certainly a way to describe it..."

She didn't say much until they reached the gates, and of course he decides to be a bit of a... showoff.

"I know what'll make you feel better." He claims. "How about a ride in?"

"A what-"

Next thing she knows, he scoops her up in his arms with a squeal and is carrying her into the factory field. She's stunned at first.

"... You're taking this a tad more serious than I thought..."

"Gotta play it off for prying eyes, hm?"

He's got a point, so she just... gets comfy until they get inside.

Life afterwords is... odd. She has to get used to the new name, used to the new 'title', though she appreciates the new respect it grants her from villagers... But whats even weirder is getting used to the new... 'affection' he gave. It started that night(gotta throw that 'consummation' in somehow ALDHAKHAKDHA-) , and just... didn't stop. An odd gentleness and careful meaning to words and touches when it came to her for years afterwards unless she said otherwise, even when working...

Almost like he was taking it seriously the entire time.

But is it actually 'love'?

Well... A few of you already know the answer to that.

Hell, maybe they even admit it a bit earlier on this time around if the mood calls for it. Because, hey... Marriage can change alot of people, y'know...?

Even if it started as a joke.

Lupin III Chapter 61 Review

I HAD TO READ THIS ONE TWICE TO UNDERSTAND IT. sorry its been a while since ive gotten so confused at the ending. im still a bit iffy about it but ill try my best

i'm using this one because the volume version is a bit lame this version is directly tied to the plot!!! btw were back to the phychedelic series again because the ordering's just like that

this woman called fujiko mine kicks lupin in a dungeon and locks him up, he decides to just stay there and search it to find out more about the house there he finds another woman, they converse but not much is known about her yet as the story switches perspective to fujiko

strangely enough, another lupin appears in her room appearing to be fine and isn't dungeon trapped. fujiko asks lupin why he is here again, but lupin knows nothing of this other lupin. he says that he came to this house hearing that its magical and wants to learn more about it. he provokes fujiko and she attacks back, but lupin proves to be more capable at defending himself than the other lupin

notice how the perspective in the dungeon has no borders while the ones in the house has borders, keep that in mind if you're confused on the constant shift

the woman lupin met reveals herself to be another fujiko mine, and the ownerof the house. but the black woman who locked lupin in was fujiko mine, what's the meaning of this!? it turns out that they're both the same person, but they were split apart somehow

going back to the black-haired fujiko, lupin has beaten her and is about to r-pe her, but her bodyguard daikichi protects her

meanwhile, blonde fujiko explains that there was this book she found in the dungeon that explains why she's split apart

as expected, she calls out another daikichi to bring the book, implying that this curse affects anyone that enters the house, including lupin

THEN WE GET ANOTHER PERSPECTIVE SHIFT. daikichi is about to kill lupin, but lupin outsmarts him and kills him instead while this is happening, daikichi in the dungeon also dies.

F: He's disappearing! L: It's no use, Fujiko! He's dead! F: Daikichi!

The book, which Lupin reads, explains that an entity in this house splits apart the soul of any residents in the house every 100 years. The soul splits apart into one that represents the good of the person, and the other the evil one. If one half dies, then the other dies as well.

It's clear that all of the good ones ended up in the dungeon, while the evil one were powerful enough to stay in the house. It's a very interesting concept for sure!

(the good lupin reminds me of the one in shin lupin lmao)

he then realizes that there's a evil lupin running amok in the house, and he panics wondering what he's doing up there

well let's see what he's doing then! he's... about to have sex with fujiko. great. he recognizes that it's a trap she set up, and actually has a straped-on gun on his leg, but fujiko immediately takes it off him and uses the gun against him. good job, genius! then... he- uhm- uh

what the hell

fujiko's definitely tired of his shit now, and just gives up because he's too weird. then lupin pulls out the weirdest plot twist ever- and reveals that the entire thing on his pants was just- body.... paint.

It doesn't occur to Lucifer how similar the two of you are, but the first thing he realizes is how pleasant conversations with you can be. You both share common interests, your tastes suit his own, and you seem to be the only competent person in this house.

You're the responsible type, and he likes it. He'll sometimes find you scolding his brothers for their behavior too, and as amusing of a sight as that may be, he doesn't want you to be burdened with their idiocy.

AND you're the eldest sibling in your household? Cheers to that. You too know the weight of being the responsible oldest, and the role one must take to ensure their siblings grow up well. You too know that you'd rather your siblings have things easier than you did.

But there's one thing he finds annoying... You can NEVER speak your feelings, and act as if it’d kill you to do so. He can respect secrecy when it's appropriate, but Lucifer would like to know what's on your mind. Not only that, but you can be HORRIBLY headstrong. There's nothing that can stray you away from what you've already decided.

"MC, I request that you take a few days off from school to do as you please. I've already spoken with Diavolo and your professors, and you've been given an excuse. I know you'll study anyway, so I've dropped off your assignments in your room. But... you should rest. It isn't good for you to be pushing yourself so hard. Hm? You're calling me a hypocrite?"

Mammon

As if one Lucifer wasn't enough. Now there's TWO of em?! Why's his luck gotta be so lousy!

Definitely the first to realize how much like Lucifer you are, and was SHOOK. Seriously, what gives?! What horrors exist in the human world that could've made you like THAT..?

Ever since you showed up, it's been impossible to get away with anything! He can't sneak out of the house because you're always there somehow, you tattle on him when you catch him leaving anyone's room, and you won't even let him copy your homework! What gives?!

Avoids you like the plague. You're no fun! There's only rare moments when you're kinda okay, and he likes those the best. The times when you're kinda sensitive and you'll drop the high and mighty act. But then you're back to being a pest!

"For the billionth time, I ain't got time to study! There's money to be made, and a guy like me ain't gonna waste a second lookin' at a dumb book when I could be- H-Huh?! You're gonna call Lucifer?! N-now, there's no need to be so hasty, right? Oi!! I'm sorry, damn it-!"

Levi

What's the deal with Lucifer number two? As comedic of a trope as that may be, Levi doesn't really care for having two nagging types in the house. Especially a human...

When you're in his room, all you do is nitpick about how he should tidy up and open a window! Don't you know that an otaku's room is his pride and joy?! It's a sacred space not to be trampled on by the opinions of a normie!!!

But still... he has to admit that even if you don't get all the stuff he's talking about, you at least try to understand it. And there are even some of his interests that you're genuinely invested in!

You might be a pain in the neck and harass him about annoying things, but he guesses he can deal with it if you'll actually sit through a TSL marathon with him...

"I-I'll lend you this manga, so make sure you read it! And when you're finished with that, I'll lend you the spin-off series by the author's brother! I know you'll like it, since you're interested in gritty stuff. Oh, and- Huh? My laundry? Y-yeah.... I'll do that.."

Satan

You are... surprisingly good company. Satan enjoys talking to you over afternoon tea, and the two of you share stories between one another.

But still, he can't shake the feeling that there's something... unpleasantly familiar about your personality. It isn't until you say something that sounds suspiciously similar to what Lucifer would say that he realizes who you remind him of. And oh, he hates it.

Tries playing pranks on you, but somehow they never go to plan. How that is is beyond him, but you never fall for anything! No matter how sweet his smile, you're always rightfully suspicious. You're annoyingly meticulous about checking your surroundings, and you're so aware of yourself that it's troublesome! Be more gullible!!

The king of petty has decided that its now his life goal to make you fall for at least one of his pranks. He doesn't care how elaborate he has to make it, or how unrewarding the payoff may be. He'll make you pay for seeing his brother in two places at once.

"MC, would you like to join me this afternoon for a book reading? Though, I'd love it if you could read this book in particular. I think you'll find it very-.... Hm? 'Isn't this the cursed book that makes you grow hair all over your body', you ask? Ahaha.... tch."

Asmo

Come now, there can't be TWO killjoys in the house! That's way too depressing!! It was funny at first to see that there's someone who can match the scary Lucifer's energy, but now it's becoming a nuisance!

You won't even go to the countless parties he's invited you to! Hell, you barely even give yourself room to mess around a little? Isn't it boring being so tightly wound? You're in luck, because the adorable Asmo-chan knows the PERFECT way to let loose~

You'll RARELY let him close to you, and that's usually when you're tired of him harassing you. Then he gets the honor of playing with your hair while you've got no energy to fight back! He'll style it wonderfully for you!

Also nags you to take better care of yourself. You're not a demon, so you have to care for your health! These late night study sessions are giving you bags under your eyes! And stop taking on so many extracurricular activities!

"Geez, MC! I didn't think you'd die from overworking, but that's the path you're headed on! You really are like Lucifer, you know? That being said, I'll do my best to make sure you relax! Shall we begin~?"

Beel

Beel may not be too bothered by Lucifer's strictness, but that doesn't mean he's immune to it. To think that even a human can be like that...

It's nice to see that you can take care of yourself, but aren't you working too hard? Your grades are good and you've got many interesting talents, but you also have to properly rest.

Has started bringing you snacks on the regular. And don't even think about skipping meals, because he won't allow it. He'll literally pick you up and bring you to the table if he has to. And if you're staying up late to study? He'll carry you to bed. Don't try to protest.

Beel is your babysitter now and there's nothing you can do about it. It's good to be responsible, but don't think about trying to take care of everyone else if you can't care for yourself. Now eat these twelve meat buns he bought for you.

"MC, let's eat lunch together. I know you were going to skip because I heard you talking to Solomon earlier, and I won't let you. Ah, don't worry about not having money, because I've already bought you some lunch. Let's eat in the courtyard."

Belphie

NO.... IT CAN'T BE... THIS HAS TO BE A NIGHTMARE....HE WANTS TO WAKE UP....

You're such a drag. You harass him to attend student council meetings, but him about his studies, and won't let him avoid a single obligation he has. What are you, his mother?

Has 100% joined forces with Satan to try to make you fall for many, many unsuccessful pranks. Are you curse proof or something? When he tried a '10 hour bed-head' spell on you, it just rebounded right to him! Then he found out that you'd borrowed a spell repelling amulet from Solomon and realized just how prepared you are...

When you aren't bothering his entire soul by trying to make him do things, you're actually nice to talk to. You're knowledgeable, you pay attention to the people around you, and you can always read a room. He likes to ask you for advice sometimes.

"Aren't you tired of being like that all the time? So... attentive, I mean. You should just take a nap some time. Or better yet, take the week off. Maybe I'll teach you how to properly relax? Then you might finally be able to take that stick out of your- ow... What're you hitting me for?"

A/N: First off, thank you so much for motivating me to finally finish watching Squid Game! I'm currently on the last episode and it's so good! And thank you so much for the kind words, I'm so glad you enjoy my writing style! I tried to cover as much of Class 1A as I could, feel free to request again if you'd like more with a certain character.

For those who haven't seen Squid Game yet, Sae-Byeok's/the reader's personality is basically very cold and distrustful, especially around new people, but cares a lot for those close to them.

From day one in UA, you were one of the kids who kept your distance

Many of your classmates saw nothing terribly wrong with this as you were hardly the only loner in the class

However, as the year went on, many couldn't help but notice that as even Bakugou and Todoroki started making friends, you made a conscious effort to keep anyone from getting too close

Let's be honest, both the Bakusquad and Dekusquad have tried to befriend on multiple occasions, one because they're the class sweethearts (who sometimes attempt murder), and one because they already forced one local self-isolater to tolerate them, why not another?

You on the other hand had no intentions of making friends(like that works out for anyone in this class). You turned down any invitations to hang out, avoided pairing up with anyone on a regular basis for training, and offered little-to-no details on your life in most conversations

But like anyone, fear of death opens you up quite a bit and unfortunately, that's something you face fairly regularly in this class

Once they find out about it's mainly an issue of trust, they become a lot more understanding, so to speak

Like before, you might get bombarded with requests from a dozen different classmates to hang out and get to know each other, but now it's more little things they do to show they care

Midoriya offers you his notes on your quirk and Iida/Momo gently remind you that you're always welcome to study with them when you seem frustrated with schoolwork

Kirishima and Bakugou let you know when they plan on getting in extra training, just in case you wanted to as well

Satou silently leaves a slice of cake or a cookie in front of you

This has just turned into me needing to feel accepted and loved🙃

If you do end up getting closer to some of the class and showing them that caring side, they are absolutely touched

Ok, for some specifics

You probably end up getting along well with like Ojiro, Koda, Shouji, Tokoyami, and Jirou, since you're all a lot more reserved

If you open up to them, they'll act pretty cool about the whole thing, but make sure to thank you for trusting them

NGL, Hagakure and Mina know they're the complete opposite of you and will probably back off a lot when they find out about your trust issue, but also probably cry if you ever open up to them, even if it's just something like starting a conversation on your own

Uraraka, Asui, and Momo are definitely extra sweet with you and if you open up to them, you can tell they're trying to not make a big deal out of it, but they just end up beaming they're so happy

A little off topic but you're probably one of Aizawa's favorite kids. This man just has a habit of adopting quiet kids with troubled pasts/trust issues, so you are not going to be an exception

Let's face it though, no one comes out of this class without any friends, so chances are you'll find at least a few you can count on
