Lost Contact
Danny fell in love with Bruce Wayne in college. If he was completely honest with himself he didn't even know about Gotham or the outside world by that point, he just knew he had to get away from home for a while and complete his studies.
He didn't expect to run into a playboy billionaire who was supposedly very dumb at his college; Danny knew better, he could tell the difference between the act and the real Bruce, someone truly thoughtful, caring and very smart, but no one but him noticed so he didn't say anything.
They became very good friends despite their obvious latent crush and on graduation day Danny was about to confess when he got a call from home asking for help with the GIW. The halfa had no choice but to say goodbye not wanting to get Bruce in his mess.
When he returned to Gotham months later he learned that Bruce was gone, his butler informed him that he would be back but didn't know when and the halfa returned to Amity in disappointment. He decided to take over the Realms for a while and distract himself with all the responsibilities he had been avoiding.
Years later he was called for a college reunion. Danny was very nervous, he hadn't kept in touch with the outside world but his core was still glowing for the billionaire, he wondered if Bruce would remember him.
Despite his plan to confess his old feelings (and pretend they no longer existed), Danny was unable to do anything but look at Bruce who greeted him with a smile and a small child at his side. The halfa grimaced, maybe he was married?
Bruce seemed excited to see him again and exchanged his contact, asking him not to go off the radar again, the halfa felt a little guilty about it. They continued to communicate over the years. Danny noted with amusement how his crush kept adopting children and calling him for a dinner at the mansion.

I love how, to Luffy, it’s always without fail, “Zoro and the others.”
He loves and admires the whole crew with everything he is, but for Zoro, it’s “Zoro, who I can trust will protect the rest of the crew.” It’s “Zoro, who the rest of the crew trusts to keep them safe.” It’s “Zoro, who would follow me into hell.” It’s “Zoro, who I trust to not let me stray.” It’s “Zoro, who has laid his swords, his dream, his ambition, his pride at my feet.” It’s “Zoro, who was first and who will be with me last.” It’s Zoro who he sees first, calls out for first, drags to his side first. It’s “Zoro and the others,” because he’s Luffy’s Zoro and there’s no one who would question it.

my favorite parts of fantasy high: sophomore year and the seven are at the very end of both seasons
in sophomore year it's the forest of the nightmare king, in the seven it's the necronomikron, but it's when every player has a one-on-one with brennan, who reads them to FILTH
in sophomore year it's about fear. brennan asks each player, "what is your character afraid of?" and they all reply. for some of them he takes what they say and doesn't change much, and it's still devastating. for others he hears what they DON'T say, and it's even MORE devastating bc it hits on something they didn't even realize they were playing out.
in the seven it's supposedly about time, but it's actually also about fear! and he doesn't even ask them this time around, he just takes what he's seen of them and presents what they are afraid of, in the past and future. fear of making the wrong choice, of failure, of having lost something you can never regain. but he also confronts them with what they have already chosen, saying, "this is the path you are walking. this is what you wanted. is it still what you want?"
and yes, this is all incredibly beautiful and heartbreaking
but the actual best part of all of this is the other players seeing their friends going through brennan's psychological torture and, when it's their turn, saying, "actually, i'm good! can we skip my turn? i'm ok with not doing this. let's move on!"
i know they're joking (somewhat), but it's so fucking funny, and i appreciate the jokes when everything else is so sad

Would any of the Dracula crew have read Frankenstein or would it not suit their literary tastes
Oooh, let's see! I think that's a yes for sure on some of them. Let's just go down the main cast one by one, shall we?
Jonathan - Yes. Hamlet's his blorbo so he obviously isn't averse to tragic stories, and I honestly love the idea of Jonathan being into gothic romances. Not that this is that, but there's enough overlap that when Mina suggested it to him he'd enjoy it. He gets really sad about how it all went wrong.
Mina - Yes. I think science fiction is very much her taste, as is spooky/tragic stories. This is both, it's great! She really enjoys the nuance and complexity of the characters. It's maybe even a favorite of hers.
Lucy - No. She doesn't like spooky stories, necromancy-adjacent anything is too much for her. The tragedy doesn't necessarily bother her too much (she enjoys crying over a good story from time to time) but everything about how the Creature is made creeps her out too much and she doesn't want to read about it or what comes after.
Arthur - No. Rather, it's possible he may have read it but it's generally not the sort of story he likes so if he ever did it would have been because of a class or at the urging of Jack, and he never got into it. He likes funny stories and adventures more.
Quincey - Yes. In large part because my initial impulse was to say no, and Quincey strikes me as the kind of guy who happens to have read all the stuff you assume he never would've read, haha. But also, I think he just really enjoys a good story. Regardless of genre, if it's well-written he'll give it a go and often really enjoy it.
Jack - Yes. I think he read it a sleep-deprived frenzy in school while he was supposed to be studying and ever since has had occasional recurring dreams of trying to give Victor and the Creature therapy.
Renfield - Yes. He's very well-read. His sympathies used to be for Victor but after being in an asylum they tend more towards the Creature since he understands now how dehumanizing it can feel to be looked at as Other or Monstrous.
Dracula - Yes. He considers it a comedy.
van Helsing - No. He doesn't have a lot of time for reading novels what with writing a new doctorate thesis every other weekend; he's typically neck-deep in a bunch of different scholarly articles and such at any given moment. When he does read fiction, it tends to be stuff he's picked up at random because it sounded interesting - or children's stories and fables, he likes those. He might have a copy lying around somewhere maybe but if so he hasn't gotten around to it.

Lapis Valentine’s Day thing!!
A little quick sketch of them :3 anyways lemme share like the shit load of art I have of them
Starting with like the colored stuff along with initial headshot + younger lapis. He is so itty- fun fact he gets fur on his arms and grows along his lower back around the time fall and winter roll around and then mostly sheds it off in spring
Also if they saw that aph has the Irene relic they’ll literally study her until he’s able to make a relic on his own
Anyways the kid drawing has a little story to it where Juniper (Lapis’ mentor and guardian) adopted lapis from the streets in order to have someone to pass their magic research onto and to continue it- like brings lapis to their house deep in the woods/kinda jungle area of Tu’la and sooner than later starts to work on a project/studying how enchanting works. They’re grinding up some lapis when they realize they don’t have enough on hand and offhandedly holds their hand out saying “Lapis.” As if asking for it, and ofc the kid gets confused for a moment since they’re just watching the process and instead of retrieving the stone she’s like ? Me lapis? Yes hi :3 and juniper felt too bad to correct them and felt they needed a name Anywyas so Lapis officially joins h the Voidkeeper family !!!
Family guy death pose + other art of them in MCD I’ll make a dump post of them and lu Wei + mystreet au stuff :3 cuz my phone is lagging ooops (last one is an old sketch of mystreet outfit whoopsies)
