yeah i'm gonna need a full breakdown of the deleted rhaenyra and jace scene

LET'S GO THEN

there are SO many things i want to say about it. it's literally been my white whale since it was announced as a cut scene. i was hopping one of the scenes op talked about with jace was that i'm sooo happy it was. my main reasons were that 1) it's a jace/rhaenyra scene and those are always juicy and 2) jacegon reasons. i'll be using text from the original post here btw.

"Daemon fights like an unrelenting tempest with little regard for his well-being [...] Daemon hungers for war, and he'll have it one way or another"

I love that the scene begins with daemon fighting other knights and in a sort of frenzy. he's obviously expressing his grief over viserys and visenya both, and how angry he is about the situation. i think it's such a great contrast with how rhaenyra and jace are presented in comparison. jace finds rhaenyra in "deep contemplation" as she watches over daemon. it's such a great element in their dynamic because as much as rhaenyra doesn't want war, she's as angry and as grief-stricken as daemon, but cannot express herself in the same way for fear of losing her image in front of the other lords. daemon has always been her outspoken twin, he's her sword and shield and like a dragon he's expressing what she cannot. it really is so good how they represent one half of a whole. delicious.

then jace comes to her and says

"Daemon wants to fight for us."

SO interesting that earlier in the episode we have jace and daemon in explicit opposition. daemon wants to act, jace is heeding rhaenyra's orders of not doing anything except by her command. daemon obviously doesn't respect him because he's a man who respects actions and jace is still a boy without experience neither political or in a war. i'm in the camp that while jace also doesn't respect daemon nor wants or likes him as a stepfather/father figure, he accepts him as part of the family and implicitly feels safe in his presence. he is his siblings' father, the man who raised (loosely! daemon is still daemon <3) joffrey when harwin and laenor died. he's known him for six years and seen him every day.

this scene is also after daemon threatens the KG in front of jace with caraxes so i think a minimum of respect for daemon's war knowledge made jace trust the he would do anything for rhaenyra and her children. /he wants to fight for us/.

"I wonder. Will you?"

"will you?" SO delicious because while jace will heed her commands to stop daemon from plotting, he does NOT agree with her approach! very very interesting. makes sense when he says "send us" when all rhaenyra wants is to keep her children safe. obviously direct parallel to ep 2:

"I will always fight for my family... but this is not as simple as one of the other"

rhaenyra is understandably reticent to enter war full on. her first experience with it has her losing a baby. and added to this is that just /the day before/ she's spent and more or less amenable afternoon with both family. it's not easy when it's not what viserys would want and what could possibly be his last wish.

it's also about alicent of course. it's not easy to give the order to kill or imprison the woman you considered your best friend and who probably is one of the few people with whom rhaenyra had a deep relationship in her life.

"It could not be simpler. If you accept Aegon's terms, you will forfeit my life. And Luke's and Joff's."

another crash between them! as much as they are a lot alike, they butts head more often than not, esp when jace doesn't agree how rhaenyra is handling an issue like harwin's funeral and now the war. but in all this, he still supports and respects her because he very pointedly questions her in private, both in driftmark and in here. when he was younger, he could've confronted her in public out in the yard, but to me jace learned very early or assumed to himself that he could be (and is!) her mother's most steadfast ally as her heir and young prince and that meant playing the politics game, and in this case to question her in private rather than in public where he could undermine her.

it also comes from the very public humiliation the kids, and jace as the eldest and most cognizant of the situation, have faced by their peers. he knows the power of rumors and whispering, what it does first hand and would not and does not want rhaenyra to face them too, or at least not from something he could've avoided. in this scene he is acting like one of her loyal lords, advising her to take one way or the other. acting like the prince he is.

it is also very interesting that he mention's "aegon's terms" when it's very obvious the terms came from alicent, maybe he doesn't know the full extend of the conversation on the bridge. in any case, it's clear aegon's on his mind. in early 2023 all we knew of the scene was that jace said "we shouldn't trust the usurper". jace wants to know what is to be done about him because he knows how aegon is, how long aegon holds grudges and his negative attitude (indifferent more like) to renew their old bonds (ouch!). esp after last night's dinner where aegon couldn't wait to bother him and join aemond in the antagonism to jace's immense dislike.

he thinks that if aegon had the chance he would kill them because they represent a risk to him claim. i personally don't think aegon would, but it's a real risk that jace is aware and that rhaenyra doesn't seen to grasp.

"Rhaenyra looks at him quizzically." "If you do not claim the throne, we will be taken hostage, or sent to the wall, or put to the sword. I do not know which fate will await us, but I do know they will call us "bastards" first."

the first line kills me because out of context it makes rhaenyra look naive but i think it does make sense for the rhaenyra we see in the bridge. what i said earlier, she's still reeling from the alicent from the diner /the night before/. the alicent that proclaimed her a good queen and begged her to stay with her. it's difficult! but i think it shows very well how complicated her feelings are in this.

this is also the point were jace and rhaenyra start having two different conversations: rhaenyra is still absent, "deep in contemplation", while jace is pushing and pushing. he wants answers, he wants to act! he doesn't care about alicent the queen who always sneered at him and called for luke's eye, he wants to ask about the boy from his childhood (girl, the parallels) who betrayed him so many times. and he's right! i think he's trying to soften the blow, this is the second time he's said he and his velaryon brothers will forfeit their life if they lose, if rhaenyra fails to act. this talk is also driven by self preservation and it's why he's siding with daemon this time. it kills me that rhaenyra has comforted luke all ep 10 but because jace is presenting himself as an equal in this conversation, not as her son, he doesn't get any kind of comfort. he's clearly thinking of death. and he's sixteen. and his mother doesn't know how to comfort him.

in this case, it's jace wanting rhaenyra to see him beyond of what he presents. beyond the perfect prince who's pushed through earth-shattering revelations about his identity. he wants her to see him and answer for once.

"but I do know they will call us "bastards" first". this jace knows with certainty. they might kill him or they might sent him to the wall, but they will call him a bastard as they do it. this is one of jace's touchiest points and weaknesses. every time he's called that he's flipped, due to under processed anger issues (hii harwin) and the repression he's going through to Just Not Think About It. i think it took a lot from jace to say this to rhaenyra's face. the first time it's when he confronts rhaenyra after harwin leaves and you see it's something he has thought about for some time

and later when they are in driftmark where the passions are high

note that he doesn't yell the word. he whispers it to her. he knows the power of it and how angry rhaenyra would become, it's a key word there. and one here too. in the cut scene he's trying to get... let's say a rise out of rhaenyra. to make her understand what will mean for them to get captured. to me it's so visceral because i don't think jace had ever consciously said or thought himself in such after driftmark and after aegon's betrayal. and i don't think that is how he framed it for luke when he told him about their parentage either. even in the audition for child luke, jace's lines frame the issue differently: "I think he thinks we don't belong here [...] we don't look like Targaryens. You must have noticed".

"Alicent gave her word that you would be treated kindly."

they are NOT having the same conversation!

"The word of an usurper means little and less."

either aegon or alicent, jace doesn't trust their word. the king and queen are one power in paper, but i bet jace is thinking about this too

his words means little and less to jace, he who was a victim and at the same time someone who enabled most of aegon's bullying behaviors. he knows him best. but jace also knows that aegon wouldn't bother with lies either. he was trying to unite the family during dinner, but time has shown him he shouldn't have bothered to carve himself to be someone aegon liked anymore. from the same audition video jace says: "so let us be good sons and please those who love us so they may forget what we lack". aegon will never forget! and even if jace or aegon want to break from this, they must play their part because they are too far along.

"In the yard below, Daemon can be heard SHOUTING for a fallen knight to get up and to come at him again. He prowls the fighting ground like a tiger protecting his den. He calls them out, taunting them -- a cruel avenger."

once again daemon as the externalization of their anger! "like a tiger protecting his den"!

"Jace and Rhaenyra reach stalemate; the conversation ends in silence."

my favorite part! this conversation could've never reached anywhere with these too. the issue is too thorny and they are too alike to want to see the other completely. jace is too angry and rhaenyra is too detached.

all in all, i wish they had kept the scene. it furthers rhaenyra and jace's relationship and gives a little bit more of characterization to jace and his relationship with aegon. loved seeing jace oppose rhaenyra and at the same time support her and take the lead when it's needed.

I love this fic. I have read this thing so many times. I love the intimacy and how they develop organically. How Cas just takes why Dean gives and it’s how it should be in my head. It’s sweet and fluffy. I wish Dean would stop calling Cas “pal” as if he’s fucking Mickey Mouse and Pluto but it’s amazing. I return to it a lot. It’s a comforting story that deals with mental health and I’m glad it’s set in heaven.

I absolutely love this fic because I actually sleep with a weighted blanket and when my kids are sick, they love their own. I even have one in the car. It’s light but enough to feel it. This is just so fluffy and romantic all thanks to our favorite redhead introducing weighted blankets which helps so much. It’s been shown to even help babies but blankets aren’t great for them. Anyway, they’re so cute and that scene where Dean opens his eyes all slow and gentle with “hey”, just broke me. My husband and I do that periodically and it just means more snuggles and sleep. lol. Poor Castiel thinking he couldn’t have Dean which I understand since Dean has said so much he is straight or implied it rather often. Ugh. This was done so well. Thank you both!

It's such a visceral and extremely well-written story, dark and full of intense angst but at the same time it highlights that profound tenderness and affection between Sam and Dean. The whole "there is no me if there is no you". I was on the edge of my seat all the way through, my heart breaking for the brothers in such a delightful way. This fic is a great rollercoaster ride, like a dark porn with a substantial amount of well-thought-out plot. Heed the tags though... Your feels might not come out intact.

This universe and the characters in it are so fascinating! Sam and Dean are half-fae, and Jimmy and Cas have a backstory that is wildly different than anything else I've ever read! (No spoilers!) Sam/Cas/Jimmy is a threesome I've never read before, I don't think, and I'm loving it. So far, all of these stories are filled with plenty of fluff, and the perfect way to end my day. Sweet dreams of faeries and friends are always welcome!

Fic Recs: "Didn't see that one coming" edition...

I've been wanting to start collecting my all time favorite stories in ages but never knew where to start, there are just too many talented souls out there. A lazy day of re-reading favorites makes me want to finally give it a try though.

Featuring today: stories that defy my usual hunting patterns but still became all time favourites against all odds. Stories leaving me utterly gobsmacked thinking "That was so, soo awsome... but how on earth did I end up in this fandom / character / trope tag of all places?".

@messy-insomniac-bookgirl Let's be honest: this writer is the spirit animal of this specific selection. Never heard of the fandom? Dislike the protagonist with a passion? Doesn't matter: she writes it, I devour and love it. The reason? Dense and hugely rewarding story-telling, perfect pacing, side characters you want to adopt on the spot, delicious slow burns with sooo much yearning. And, most importantly, the awesome female OCs. I am in love with each and every one of them, regardless who they share a screen with. It's almost impossible to select just one story for this list but let's go for "Keep Calm and Buckle Up" (AO3) for suddenly making me feel things when Steve Rogers entered the stage in "Infinity War". Steve Rogers x OFC, James "Bucky" Barnes x OFC, Steve x Bucky x OFC. Action, slow burn, emotional roller coaster rides. Rated E.

@batsingotham "Written in the stars" (AO3) I don't do Soul Mate AUs. I don't do Robert Pattinson characters. For me the best things about "The Batman" were Andy Serkis' Alfred and 3 hours of Niravana in a loop. But the undisputed goddess queen of slow burn domestic fluff overruled all of that. Bruce Wayne/Reader. Soulmate AU. Dorks in love. Bruce needs a hug and Alfred has the patience of a saint. Rated M.

"Sweet Conversations" by @glassgulls Lord of the Rings has been living in my head rent free ever since I was a teenager but I simply don't do Elves. Period. Yes, Glorfindel is very cool and Lee Pace's Thranduil is an absolute vision (the costumes, the voice and the make up, mind you, don't get me started on any other aspect of the Hobbit movies though...) but otherwise? Thanks but no thanks. Nevertheless: the award for best fictional kiss I’ve come across in ages goes to this gem. Amazing scene setting and character work for something so short. Leaves you weak-kneed and high as a kite on serotonin for the rest of the day. Haldir/Reader. One-shot. Rated M.

„Ownership of Mine“ by @amywritesthings . Okay, lets be honest, peeps: Prison settings for a romance story? Seriously? Who in their right mind would be able to think about romance and seduction when all of your freedom is taken away, you are crammed into a small and dark space with people of questionable character and put under constant surveilance. Well… apparently I can… with this story. Even if that tag is a big red NO GO sign for me otherwise. Amazingly dense story telling and atmosphere building in just 3 short chapters. Kino Loy/Reader. Rated E.

„Directions“ by @zinzinina . Probably a sure sign that I am getting too old for all of this but tags about age gaps, first love or first times usually make me run for the hills. Add a character like Poe Dameron (I mean: come on! Howww…?!) to the mix and there is not enough willing suspension of disbelieve in the world to get me immersed in the plot. Or so I thought. Unwisely. Until this beauty came along. Poe Dameron/Reader. Rated E.

Well then...

It's been two weeks since the final episode (HOW?) and i have finally sorted my thoughts enough to write little about it (mainly for myself - as always).

First of: I fucking LOVED it!!! Yes, it wasn't perfect but that's only the studios fault and nobody else's.

(although I do have a few issues with the editing of especially the last episode: there's too many things wrong to ignore it. There's tiny bits not lining up before which is fine because one can overlook them; Ed going in for the kiss at the beach from the left and the close up is from the right, things like that. In the last epi there's too much of that: the crew behind them when Izzy dies, that's just bad editing; although once again, I'm pretty sure that's the studio's fault, if they could've done it like they wanted to, there would've been reshoots for it *sighs* It's a shame, because that scene is beautiful otherwise; sad as hell but incredibly well done. Taika and Con are really going for it, and it's amazing!)

Edit: knowing now that they cut FORTY fucking % I only keep my 'critics' because this is mainly for me! Knowing that, I am even more in awe about what they managed to make with that!!! They are all fucking MAGICAL for making this show as beautiful and amazing as they did!!!! And I really hope ONE DAY we can get a Director's Cut or something that's gonna make it all more smooth and just that more coherent, just like DJ would've wanted it to look!!!

Anyhow, i loved it. Im so happy to now have 8 more episode to obsess over again, to rewatch whenever I want and revel in the fucking MAGIC they gave us! The writers have really outdone themselves this season! It's tight and fast-paced but it still works fantastically well!

Personally, I've never been more in love with Taika - his acting was outstanding this season!!! Absolutely NO notes on that!! That man's soo fucking talented that whenever he says otherwise I wanna smack him over the head and shake him. I REALLY hope he does more of this because it was insanely good and I want more. (also: he's never looked more gorgeous!! the HAIR! the BEARD! the fucking EYES!!! GUH!! I wanna give him all the awards for this role alone but that's just me!!! So yeah, much much love for him!!) Same goes for Rhys - they're both soo fucking good together, and I cannot wait for them to do more drama because they'd fucking smash it! And not to forget the rest of the cast: every single one gave their absolutely best and I loved every single second of it!!!

What else? The fucking LOCATIONS!! God, I've always wanted to go to AoNZ but this season made me so much more needy!!! (not happening anytime soon but yeah, ONE DAY!!). Sooo stunning, sooo damn beautiful!! GUH!!!

Also: Guest stars!!! First and foremost: FAMILY!! Say what you want about that, but I fucking LOVE when shows do that!!! Taika's kids made me squeal soo much in the BTS vids already, but having DJ's wife in it as well??? With a rather substantial role? And her absolutely smashing it?! Totally made that episode even more amazing!!!

VERY much in love with Ruibo!!! Her Queen was incredible and I loved every second she was on screen!! Her character was so nuanced and wonderful and perfectly balanced. I REALLY hope we can get her back for a 3rd season - she fucking rocked it!!!

And we got ALL THE KISSES!!! I mean, I was hoping to get some more, and something a little more passionate than in S1 (don't get me wrong, I still love that one but yeah...) And we got soo many!! And soo many wonderful ones!!! And no I can't pick a fav: I love them all. The moonlight one had me losing my shit all over the place (at work no less) - the callbacks, Ed's fucking EYES and Stede's shy glances!! GUH, that was just soo delicious!!! The Calypso one was just hot as hell and I may have cursed them for not making that longer!! And the beach one was just utter perfection! Their faces, their smiles, Ed's 'I love you' still makes my stomach all gooey!!!

And then there's Izzy. *sighs* My little angry raccoon man. Our indestructible little fucker. Con motherfucking O'Neill. UGH!! I hated him (Izzy, not Con) all the way through S1! There was not one redeeming feature on that bastard. BUT... when you've read all the Ed/Stede fics and you start to look for something new and then find some beautifully written Izzy/Roach ones and then start to like him and eventually read more and then end up reading (and writing) some SteddyHands and you're like 'yeah, I can see it now'. It also helped A LOT that Con's such a darling man and so real for it all, and you have too much time to fall in love with him after all... So naturally you start to like S2!Izzy. And then you start to love him, and you fucking ADORE the SASSINESS he's got this season. (Still not over the morning after Izzy - the SASS was through the fucking roof!!!) AND THEN THEY LET HIM SING!!!! DEAR GOD!!! I would've loved for a full on musical episode (I mean, that talent show would've been such a GREAT opportunity for that!) The ENTIRE cast is freakishly talented and they all could've pulled that off. So naturally I was VERY HAPPY that at least they let Izzy sing!!! I'm still not over that!! (And Im highly amused that even some of the crew had no idea that he could do that!!! I mean... he got a fucking OLIVIER award to prove it!!!) (but then again, I spend way too much time on YT to find his stuff so that's probably just me!) AND DID HE DELIVER!!! The whole party bit, with the make-up and the shyness at first and then just BURSTING it out was just sooo fucking beautiful!!! Every damn frame of that was a bloody masterpiece and I'd KILL for the bits they cut - I'd pay a very good price for a DVD with ALL the deleted bits because I KNOW that DJ had to tighten that baby down massively!!! I NEED THAT!!! *exhales*

So yeah, S2 made the impossible possible and made me LOVE Izzy fucking Hands! Which im certain was their plan all along - otherwise his death wouldn't have been this devastating!!! Which is fucking WAS!! I cried at work (thankfully there was nobody there!)! And im still not over it!! I totally understand WHY they did it. Doesn't mean it doesn't still hurt. (here the strange editing sort of took away from the PAIN of it all a bit but if you concentrate on Ed and Iz it can be ignored).

*sighs* I'm just so sad that some people went and attacked our beautiful writers like they did. I know it's only a small part of an otherwise amazing fandom but I HATE that they're soo fucking loud - i can only hope DJ and his writers know that most people love what they did! (and NO, I do NOT wanna discuss it. you can be sad, yes, and you can be mad too but you do NOT go and shit-talk the writers or send them death threats - that's an absolute no-go! And no, in a show that's all around queer and has a lot of disabled character, it's not homophobic or ableist - it IS after all just a tv show. If YOU put too much of your own wants into it, that's on YOU! Ugh, sorry, didn't want to get into this but it makes me soo mad!!!) So yeah, despite some small flaws and scenes I KNOW have been cut, I love the second season just as much (if not more) than the 1st one. I can only hope that the studios decide to let DJ finish it. Im so happy with what we got - fanfiction can totally work with that. But I would love to see more Ed and Stede (trying and probably failing) to run their Inn, see the crew of the Revenge get into insane adventures, maybe even meet some more new characters (JC and BM still need to make a cameo!) - there's still soo much story to tell and I would LOVE to actually SEE it on screen!!!

I also would LOVE for the cast and crew to be able to finally talk about it, promote it, share stories and pictures and everything during a 3rd (and last) wave of MADNESS surrounding the show. Everyone deserves to bask in the love we have for them and our show. S1 had barely any promo. S2 aired during a strike. S3 could make up for all of that and get cast and crew the love, recognition and adoration they soo very much deserve!!!

It's definitely been a very emotional few chapters, lots of ups and downs. Obi-Wan is slowly, slooowly starting to believe Anakin loves him, I think. At the least, he feels reassured while they're together.

Obi-Wan snapping back at Shmi was something I initially had no idea how to do, but I felt like it was really, really necessary. His type of character won't hold a grudge, but that doesn't mean his feelings weren't hurt 🥺

Also I'm honestly gonna have to get back to you on the scent thing because I initially didn't have blackberries for embarassment but then I found it in my drafts so I just left it like that. And of course we've also got jogan fruit added to the scent profile (not that that's "canon" yet I guess). I might rearrange the way that I had been thinking of it in my head, but first I have to reread the text and make sure that my new idea makes sense 😅 I'll make a more in-depth post at some point!

re: the ritual thank you soooo much, I really loved it. I've known for a while that I wanted it to conceptually be passing knowledge down (especially since the Freed are, by necessity, so big on oral tradition), but for some reason that scene was SO difficult to write. It haunted me for weeks with half-written drafts until I finally got a version that satisfied me enough to post...

Also, I hate to tell you, but like. As correct as you are about Obi-Wan's impending heat, it's also wayyyyyy out there on the timeline. There are so many other thigns that are going to happen first 😭

Regarding your omega or alpha post, I also think that, even the sex scenes aside, just from a character perspective both options can be so interesting and make so much sense!

I'm gonna switch this around to Lewis, actually, because Omega Lewis is SO good: With everything he does and all the odds and abuse he's faced and all the things he's defying and overcoming, being an Omega would just be another thing to underline that. Literally defying the status quo, as in, you have this guy who is an Omega in a sport full of literal Alpha males and he, out of everyone is The Best at it, has the most titles, is the most famous? He's so much more of a target than any other driver already, then add this second gender and there you go, it just adds to everything! Also, being an Omega on the grid might just mean a certain (psychological?) distance from everyone else, a trust and closeness in only very specific individuals (Seb, Valtteri, then Max for MY purposes lol), Idk if I'm making sense but it just fits so well with him and the narrative, you know? It's just. Delicious. To then have this payoff of him being who he is and doing what he does, you feel me? And I think playing around with that just on a characterisation level could have so many layers to it. I also just think that bottom Lewis is hot, so.

But then Alpha Lewis is Just As Good and can be used in a way that's Just As Compelling, because now you have him being an Alpha but *also* defying norms that come with that, especially within this sport, with his hobbies outside of it, the fashion, being flamboyant, he gets easily critisised for everything about him that doesn't immediately say Alpha, yet on the few occasions where he does show teeth suddenly he's Aggressive. That sorta thing. Still about defying norms, really.

I also think that mainly because of that he'd be so attractive to Omega Max who's grown up in a household that is not the safest space and then right there is an Alpha who has all the strenght and confidence and charisma that you'd associate with one but at the same time he is so Different from what Max considers to be The Norm and AM I MAKING SENSE? 😭

yeah and bottom lewis is hot too. i love him most as a bottom/dom, someone who receives but is in charge. ah, i'll write him as anything ngl. i love writing lewis.

and YES to alpha lewis as well! my man is suuper emancipated, thinks of everything, motivates everyone, is constantly cheering people on and the guy is an alpha? that type that's known to only be aggressive and self-centered unless it's about 'their' omega? and then there's this guy that cares about the whole world and more? that...can't be true? but then... then there's lewis' omega...naturally, for us, that's max. and max has most of these alpha traits on his tongue (lowkey was raised like that) but he's an omega, and lewis is his alpha...? fascinating.

HI IT’S ME AGAIN I JUST FINISHED S5 IT IS A BANGER

i have A Lot to say about this one because it’s very really good

i looked at the cast credits only on episode 10 and promptly found out that morro and lloyd have the same VA (at least in the dub i watched lmao). congrats julien haggege on the range because i geniuenly had no idea

SOOOO MUCH TO TALK ABOUT.

ok let’s start with what a great kickoff episode 1 was. everything went batshit RIGHT from the start. i love the scene w the possessed museum guard posing with a hammer behind lloyd. i loooooove how much they leaned into the whole ghost shit and horror tropes with morro’s introduction and lloyd just getting fucking possessed.

morro has like, more.. menace? than the previous villains (as much as any of them can be menacing for having little lego faces) because of his first appearance and also just. again the lloyd thing.

which is DELICIOUS btw to just take lloyd out of the team dynamic after he’s been so throuroughly integrated into it. holy shit man. it’s sooo good how the main four have to struggle without lloyd and how they each try to be the leader and fail horribly at it.

how this is resolved is great too!! the four of them work best without a leader. after cole gets turned into a ghost (also holy shit they really just did that), they kinda just stop picking fights over which of them is better and just stay a team. this is reflected beautifully in the episode 8, grave danger, where each of them takes charge when it’s best for them to do so. zane decodes the patterns on the doors, cole gets everyone to give up and fall, jay spots the light in the ground that gets them out of the labyrinth, and kai makes the final call to rescue lloyd. that’s some good shit.

ALSOOO this season is so good to nya!! i heard abt morro and nya’s water ninja thing and cole being ghosted on my ventures through the ninjago tag, but i didn’t expect it to be... all the same season. i did not.

i like a looot how nya’s weakness got cast here, because she’s always been just. good. at everything. and THAT’S HER WEAKNESS IT’S GIFTED KID SYNDROME. if she can’t get something right first try she gives up and that is an accurate weakness for her to have without betraying the strength she’s had throughout the show. she’s soo set on being a samurai that she Cannot fathom being a ninja and she has to get over herself. it’s so good. i like that one scene after cole gets ghosted where the two bond a bit over how their lives got turned upside down suddenly at the same time, and i also liked how she picking up on ronin’s laidback nature (which wu calls a bad influence) is actually what helped her out. she needed to take things less seriously so she can allow herself to fail without getting frustrated. THIS SEASON IS SO GOOD TO NYA FR.

ANOTHER THING ABT NYA i love how her development kinda mirrors like, the boys in season 1, with how everyone’s harping about her true potential, because that’s where she’s at, elemental powers wise. she is at her own personal season 1 right now, and it’s treated as such. sooo poggers. she had a lot of moments where she got held back by wu again (a recurring trend prior boooo wu) and she always had frustration at this (the only reason i accepted this) so i love love love how it’s SHE who sinks the. preeminent? is that the english name. (german dub calls it the Ur-Evil because it likes being stupid like that). it’s soo cool nya you’re cool again after s3.

THERE’S JUST. A LOT OF SEASON 1 PARALLELS IN GENERAL LIKE. morro’s obsession with being the green ninja is exactly like the boys in s1 and esp kai i think. like in s4 we saw that he’s still not entirely over that jealousy so morro feels in a way like a bad end kai even though he’s mostly played as a foil to lloyd. abandoned by fate vs chosen by destiny ysee ysee.

i get why so many people like him he has a LOT of potential esp since like his past connection to wu is just. haha wu you fucked up my man.

it SLAPS how morro just kept lloyd for Eight Whole Episodes. all ghosts can do possession and SOME of them do but for the most part it’s Just Morro who does which makes him stand out and the ninja not wanting to hurt lloyd in fights is fun. adds to him being so Goddamn Angry all the time. again same VA which i

morro as a villain also really adds to the whole theme of this season which is teamwork (as it often is) but this time in particular it’s how you can’t do everything alone. morro has his goons yeah but he ultimately is a loner and that’s capped off by him refusing to take wu’s hand in the final episode and going under. sayonara my man.

teamwork as the theme also came on strong again with (gestures at the main four struggling without lloyd and only moving forward once they work as a unit without a set leader). and maybe how ronin only manages to truly save his soul once he starts supporting the ninja without ulterior motives.

ronin was a rlly good supporting character imo! i think it’s funny how he’s introduced as having a past with the ninja who hate his guts meanwhile i’m going “should i know who this guy is?????” he’s not a bad guy necessarily just greedy but then the reason for him being greedy is introduced (sold his soul to a ghost and is trying to buy it back) and like it’s cool how his arc ends with him dumping all his money over morro’s head. it’s cool! also again his lil thing with nya which i’m sooo happy isn’t played romantic. nothing in this season is played romantic actually even that one scene i talked abt with nya and cole i’m so glad. love triangle is WELL AND TRULY DEAD AS IT SHOULD BE. let nya exist without a romance subplot for a season so epic so pog.

is it just me or did the lighting in the animation get wayyyy better this season? i was rlly impressed with the lighting on some shots this season which i haven’t been before. it’s way more realistic and when i first saw the waterfalls in nya’s training area i was stunned by the water physics in this. generally this season just looked really good by ninjago standards.

the set design was good too i liked the different locations. the ghost aesthetic clichees carried this i like that. wang’s house or the city of stiix or the cloud kingdom all vry cool good looking sets. i love how ham they went with the aesthetic too like also sound wise. the ost on this season is BANGER i love the remix for the intro. welcome to scooby doo: masters of spinjitzu.

MORE SEASON 1 THINGS I WANNA TALK ABT. there were some nice callbacks to the pilot eps i appreciated like the guys visiting the caves of despair where they found the scythe of quakes in the pilot. like if you didnt watch the pilot you’re not missing anything but if you did then you know and it’s nice <3 also hello morro’s skeleton. in any other show discovering a ghost’s corpse would be shocking but with the lego skeletons it’s just kinda goofy. it’s very goofy.

another callback i loved is in the final episode!! because morro tried to ditch lloyd in the underworld which is an amazing callback because it’s so thematically appropiate with the whole s1 parallels and that being where garmadon was sealed in the pilot and lloyd being ykno that guy’s son and the object of morro’s envy. it’s vry cool.

some cute things in the final two eps!! lloyd wearing his dad’s robe!! that’s so cute what the fuck!! i’m gonna gloss over the logistics of that just for how cute it is. previous cute thing is kai actually wearing the headband cyrus made for him even though he was bummed out for not getting a mech. everyone crashes their mechs and kai’s the one getting real utility out of his gift it’s cute. i thought the scene of ronin hanging out with skylor was also cute because like. skylor was in a veeery similar position to ronin where she betrayed the ninja for stupid selfish reasons but turned a new leaf and her giving him tea on the house is nice full circle stuff because her extending forgiveness on behalf of the ninja is what motivates ronin to go back and help out in the finale. and it’s tea specifically too because of the wu’s tea house subplot. that’s just so nice.

I DIDN’T EVEN PROPERLY TALK ABT GHOST COLE YET BECAUSE. THAT SURE HAPPENED. like i KNEW it was gonna happen cuz spoilers cuz i jzst wanted to look at fanart but. dang that’s kinda funny. like there is cole expressing sadness over it with the twice mentioned nya scene and many points where he tries to grab someone and fails but i think it’s nice how it’s not all bad and if he hadnt been a ghost then nimbus would’ve def killed the ninja right. i love how cole regularly like... forgets he’s a ghost. he forgets he can walk through walls and stuff now and possess things like ykno a ghost because it just kinda feels. in character for him to forget once he figures out how to make himself tangible. it’s funny. my favorite is in the ice labyrinth where he throws himself through a wall and slides across the floor to knock morro over.

he and kai got a lot of milage out of both being afraid of water this season. real bonding moment to make the guy who cant swim and the guy who will be vaporized if he touches water consistently the ones closest to water. kai gets a new gimmick to be grouchy about every season and i love that for him <3

talking abt kai again actually. love how he’s the one who ultimately saves lloyd and cheers on nya bcuz he’s. their big bro. he’s the first person who vowed to protect lloyd and by god he’s STICKIGN to that. i love that.

okay i think that’s everything i wanted to talk abt here. this is def my longest season review so far. because this season just SLAPS i understand now. i understand. this season fucks.

honestly i don’t think the reality of lewis moving to ferrari has well and truly set in. it’s just a bit confusing for me why he’s doing it cause merc doesn’t stink that badly and ferrari isn’t that good either. i don’t have anything insightful to say it’s just kinda like ‘wait is this seriously happening?’

spoilers for david tennant’s macbeth under the cut i guess??? can you really spoil macbeth?

so my drama teacher chose this production for out live performance review and oh my god was it good. like where do i even start

the staging was so good i loved it so much. i liked the like glass enclosure they had behind the stage. it was such an interesting staging decision. the lighting as well was sooo good. it’s such a joy to analyse. the live music they had added so much to the production it would have not been the same without it

someday i wish to be like max webster because only he could’ve come up with the idea to use binaural sound for the whole production. the witches at the beginning??? i jumped i loved them so much

david tennant was so good for the role of macbeth. he’s got a very insane look about him and he plays macbeth really well

on the topic of macbeth, cush jumbo played lady macbeth so well. i loved lady macbeth in this actually. everything about her made her feel like and outsider from her northern accent when the others had scottish accents and the fact she was the only one wearing white. just ugh i love it

malcolm and macduff had bigger roles in this production than others. i wish ross did as well because i love moyo akande but oh well. the time she was on she was really good she’s literally my idol

the actors playing malcolm and macduff must have had bills due during the scene ross comes and tells macduff his wife and kids are dead because that was the make gut wrenching thing i’ve ever watched. noof ousellam (macduff) portrayed macduff’s emotions so well and ros watt (malcolm) really convincingly made himself seem as if he was on the brink of tears

speaking of ros watt, omg ros watt. i loved everything about him. his physicality during the 2nd prophecy, his pleading with macduff, god everything was perfect. ros watt was perfect to play malcolm especially considering he’s smaller than the rest of the cast. just delicious. he’s got those big sad eyes that i love

noof ousellam as well. big massive sad eyes like that’s baby girl (he’s over six feet tall). when he was all up in malcolm’s face shouting, dear god i loved it. my little pea brain starting whirring. something about their height difference does it for me.

this is getting long so let me finish quickly. lady macduff, her screams were fucking bone chilling. the porter was so funny. his actor does really well in comedies. banquo was so fit omg. the child actor they had playing like all the children (and he died so many times poor kid) was surprisingly good as well

i desperately want to write about this version of macbeth/the cast (the guy playing donalbain has a podcast called putting it together and his interviews with the other cast members are really good) but i fear no one actually gives a shit

Wow, this is so hard to answer. I definitely can't just give one reason. But all of my answers basically come down to their dynamics.

(But I have to preface this with that I know their relationship (fanon or canon) is not healthy. Not all of us like only fluffy and sweet ships, and there's nothing wrong with that. Shaming someone over fictional characters is ridiculous.)

Anyway, I love everything about their relationship. First, there's the teacher x student aspect when they first met, but with the twist that Terry never intended to actually teach him. Yet Daniel trusts him and wants to learn from him so desperately. The way Daniel reacts when Terry praises or approves what he does is so delicious. Daniel clearly enjoys having a mentor (see Mr. Miyagi), but Terry is nothing like him, especially with how he treats Daniel. Terry is purposefully hurting him and making Daniel think he's a bad fighter unless he does what Terry wants,. It's a guiding hand with evil intentions, and it's just so intriguing.

Plus, that guiding hand is literal. They touch sooo much in KK3 while Terry is training him, and both actors had so much chemistry together, even in their small scenes together in CK. The way Terry got in his face while they were arguing in the convenience store. Just so much sexual tension. And while I'm annoyed they haven't fought yet, the fact that they haven't makes their relationship all that more interesting. Look at how Terry fought with Johnny and trained Robby. He didn't even seem all that interested vs the way he just spoke to Daniel. (I think the producers low key know how homoerotic KK3 was and kind of keep them apart. That's my two cents anyway. But hey, I could be wrong.) I just really hope they do eventually fight. We know it will be so explosive.

Daniel was so shaken and angry when Terry showed up. Not many other characters have had this affect on him. Johnny has in some ways, but he keeps on forgiving him and trying to work with him. Not sure I could do that to someone who threw me off a cliff (hill?). And then Terry's reaction after Kreese mentioned Daniel and when Daniel wouldn't forgive him. Fucking pretty emotional if you ask me. Go ahead and blame it on comedy though.

There's no hiding how alike they are too, but we know neither would admit it. They have similar interests, are both passionate people, and no one else in CK or KK are as spiteful and revenge-seeking as they are. (lmao maybe Robby) And they both think their way is right. They can't be wrong! Yet Terry is conniving and manipulative while Daniel is inspiring and brave. Totally big bad and hero vibes. And that dynamic is always spicy.

Then there's the fact that they look so God damn good together. TIG is a handsome, tall pale giant while Ralph is a tan, petite lil twink. 😂 Their height differences is so hot, and the fact that they're the same age irl is crazy. We also got lucky as fans because they're both amazing actors who are so underrated. Especially Ralph. The way he's able to act like the exact same character 30+ years later is crazy.

I'm sorry I ranted a while, anon. But that's some of my thoughts. Hopefully, what I'm saying makes sense. I wanna hear why ya'll like them. 💙

When you admit that your favorite color is brown, most people look at you with disgust.

Why, out of all the wonderful colors that make up the world, would your favorite be brown?

“Why not blue?” Beidou proposed one afternoon over a pint of beer which glowed amber in the firelight. Blue, like the storm-empty sky of a pirate’s dream? Beidou offered you the description of Fountaine’s aquamarine waters, with the richest blues one could ever think of. Or of sapphires that she claimed to have found many of on her journey around Teyvat. Blue was the color of freedom, according to her.

Then, Xiangling insisted that red was the most beautiful color in the world! Red, the color of the hottest fire that cooked the spiciest of Jueyun Chilis. Pyro slime secretion, she added, was the tastiest of all. Why? Because they were red (though, when you asked why the color mattered, she thought the answer was so obvious that you were joking. You were too embarrassed to tell her you were serious.) To Xiangling, red was the color of passion and of love.

By this point, you avoided telling friends your favorite color, but you humored Keqing one afternoon when you walked with her home after an eventful afternoon at the Lantern Rite festival. For a moment, you didn’t need her to explain to understand. The glowing orange lanterns that filled the atmosphere made the purple sky behind them glimmer with such brilliance that you almost agreed with her. Keqing said that purple is the color of focus and determination. It’s the color of royalty; of success in a materialistic way, but also in a way that meant something more. Keqing, with the sigh of longing, said that she’d give anything to feel the calm like that which came with the color purple.

And then, they would always ask you in return why brown was your favorite. You were optimistic that it was just courtesy and that you weren’t denying them something they were curious for the answer to. You weren’t ashamed or embarrassed of the answer, but it was so intimate that you dreaded the day you’d finally have to confess why brown was your favorite color.

However, for now, things were at ease. The trees outside of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor were the most gorgeous topaz color, making the light that filtered through the leaves and into the window of the building feel warm against the autumnal air. If the scene in front of you wasn’t beautiful enough, the one person you could ever find more ethereal than the sunshine was sitting before you.

Zhongli flashed you a gentle smile as he slid a gilded teacup across the table to you. The room was filled with the aroma of earth and of cinnamon, both of which shared a smell synonymous with home in your heart. You hummed in gratitude at the warmth that emitted from the masterfully crafted drink. You didn’t have to worry about the flavor; the way it matched the auburn of Zhongli’s eyes was enough proof of its deliciousness for you.

When you looked at him like this, you remembered exactly why brown was your favorite color: The color brown all encompassing. It was your calm, your passion, love, and freedom. You could see it all in the swirl of Zhongli’s eyes and embedded in the thread of his coat which was the color of pure chocolate. Everything you longed for could be found in him; the softness you admired in him resided in his hair, the confidence you desired stayed with the dark brown shoes he walked in, and his rings, the witness of all the good he brought your soul, were so wonderfully golden. Wonderfully golden, much like him.

“You know,” His deep voice broke the silence of the parlor, “I don’t think I know what your favorite color is.”

You chuckle because he’s obviously aware of your thoughts, being betrayed by the gentle teasing in his voice and the smirk on his face.

“I wouldn’t tell you even if you asked.”

Guess who's the bish that just watched "Wishmaker"!...

I'm the bish that just watched "Wishmaker" if you didn't figure it out.

Anywho! Let's get on with it. Now, usually I would do a little (extremely detailed) summary of the episode, but I can guess that a lot, if not most of the fandom has seen the episode so I'm just going to skip that and dive straight into it!

Warning: Spoilers for "Wishmaker"

Anyway! Onto business, let's talk about my thoughts on the episode.

So, the beginning of the episode. I legit don't know why this triggered me (I absolutely know why this triggered me, but I don't want to admit it) but Marinette melting when she gave Adrien the flyer got me freaking laughing, probably because every time and I mean EVERY time the love square interacts (mainly adrinette) is so over used that I find it hilarious at this point (this is probably just me, but what the heck :p)((also this was kinda me salting on the LS, but remember this is just my opinion so please don't come at me :)). Continuing on to Alya's comment about if "being a superhero counts as a job" it sure as heck does, well mainly if your Marinette (also the reason why I'm talking about small details that happened in the episode is mainly because I'm re-watching the episode as I type this). Again I had a cackling moment when we had the Sadrien moment, which made me realize how mean and bad I am, but oh, well (i felt horrible when i cackled at this, but i felt really guilty afterwards) ((i might delete this part later, but idk)) Also, when Plagg presents the idea of them running a cheese shop together it made my heart melt because it shows how much Plagg cares about Adrien and how much he wants to stay with Adrien. Now, unto the part where Marinette explains to the kwamis what a career is and when I say I was laughing through this whole scene, I WAS laughing through this whole scene. Mainly because of all the comments that the kwamis gave to Marinette. Like, seriously many of the comments are very accurate and the one that broke me was when Xuppu said, "It's making presents for Adrien!", I was like "damn he legit just called you out Mari". Not to mention, when Ziggy drawled out AdRIen's name to showcase the amount of meaning Adrien has on her life. Also, Sass is legit the PERFECT kwami for Luka, and I am not exaggerating this. Sass literally was the only kwami that stood up and voiced out that they should listen to Marinette and that her opinion in this situation is the most important one, and I know for a fact that Luka would do the same if he was put into the same situation Sass was in. That small detail in the episode made my heart melt knowing how compatible Luka and Sass are.

Anyway! Moving on, Andre legit unintentionally (maybe?) roasted Alec on his show, I was like "damn he got you there" and he also roasted him with the sweet, delicious treat known as ice cream, damn that's got a hurt. Speaking of Andre, the story of how Andre found his career was really touching to me. The main reason of why he really pursued his ice cream business was because ice cream was what made him happy and he wanted to share that with the world. In summary, I find Andre's career story really touching and meaningful.

Continuing on, after Andre explained the ice cream flavors to Marinette, Luka "coincidentally" appeared right behind her right after Andre said "Pistachio and pecan for the clear-sighted young man". And, if you tell me that the pistachio is to represent Adrien, I would like to explain to you how that it is not accurate. I mean, legit this whole episode is to represent how both Adrien and Marinette are indecisive when it comes to their career choices, mainly because of all the things happening in their lives. Now, "clear-sighted" doesn't really suit Adrien in the context of the episode. In this episode, Adrien doesn't even have a clue on what he wants to do for the rest of his life, but Luka on the other hand is a representative at the fair for his school and is running a booth showing his career choice, that sounds like he fits the definition more accurately. Now, I know that the main reason of why people recognize that the pistachio is to represent Adrien is because it's the color green and Luka's color is not green, it's blue. But let me introduce Viperion. I mean, Viperion is literally just Luka, even if he has a mask on it's still Luka.

Anyway! Moving foward through the episode, when Luka said "buddies", I felt that. It legit broke my lukanette stan heart to hear him say that they were just "buddies", but I digress.

Ok, I know that the main reason why Alec is roasting everyone's career choice is for his show (and to hide his inner turmoil), but damn, tone it done a bit will ya. In the end, Luka showed him, even if his way of showing him was to hold up a violin to the sky and let the wind play the instrument was kinda weird, I support whatever this kind and understanding boy does.

I know it is justified that lukanette is strictly platonic because the LS is going to be endgame, but I can't help but fan girl when I see my ship holding hands. Not to mention, the look that Marinette gives Luka is a look of adoration and love(even if it's just platonic).

We would like to welcome Bipierion to the running again. Like, come on, you can't tell me that the scene with the three talking doesn't look just a tad romantic. This whole scene, made my Luka stan heart just palpitate wildly. I mean, this whole scene; no, this whole episode is a bunch of examples of how Luka is such a mature and understanding character. This scene alone made me love Luka's character even more! Also, we FINALLY get to see Luka play the violin (and not just with the wind this time hehehe ;)) and can I just say, I totally love this scene, not only because it's with Luka playing the violin (though that may be the main reason) it's because I also play the violin so I kinda relate to this scene.

Continuing on with the episode, when Alec went into his inner turmoil and main backstory of why he is the way that he is, I was like, now I feel bad about him being trashed on, but he kinda deserved it soooo...Moving along! So, Wishmakers design. I don't know why, but Wishmakers design reminds me of Venom, or more specifically a drag queen version of Venom. And I fully support that, I mean you go get it, slay girl! Even if you are a villian.

So, Jagged’s childhood dream was to be a crocodile. I mean, I get a lot of people's childhood dreams were a bit far-fetched, but okay, you do you. Also, Mr. Banana's childhood dream was to be a cucumber? Umm ok...Anyway! Luka prioritizing others above himself, is just the icing of the cake as a Luka stan. (Not to mention, Luka already fully excepting Jagged as a dad is sooo, I can't express it into words how much I love that.)((Also, Jagged can't swim. Noted.)) Also, Luka and Jagged having a conversation about how Jagged wanted to be a crocodile as a kid, but he can't swim is so funny to me. And it also portrays more of Luka and Jagged's relationship a bit more, so I appreciate that.

It's time for a small detail mention! Luka's head tilt when he saw the dino huggie just made my Luka stan heart melt! Moving along, we get Luka or Viperion saving everyone, which just gave me a sense of joy! Also, Marinette as the knitting-fairy was so adorable!

Anywho, continuing on with the episode, with Luka finding out Marinette is Ladybug, you can see the realization in Luka's face when he realizes that the secret that she kept from him was that she was Ladybug, and you can hear the shakiness in his voice when he uses Second Chance after that, which shows even more how shocked he is. But, he still keeps his focus on the battle because now he has to protect Marinette's identity, which is just another of the many reason of why I love Luka's character. Ok, I have a small nitpick at this scene, and even though it's just a small detail in the scene I can't help, but comment on it. I know that Chat Noir is not in the right state of mind during that moment, but did he seriously not hear Viperion when he warned him to duck? But then again, I digress.

Moving on, I felt that, when Adrien found out that his childhood dream was to be what his parents wanted to be, because I also want to do that to, or mainly to just make them proud. Anyway, enough about me, let's continue on with the episode! Luka's face when he saw that Adrien was Chat Noir, really made me sympathize him. Because in Luka's eyes he finds out that are truly good partners (and I refuse to say "meant to be" because just no) and it is pretty obvious that he still has feelings for Marinette and that finding out that both Ladybug and Chat Noir are Marinette and Adrien must've broke his heart. I mean, you would react the same way if you found out that your crushes crush is their partner in crime (as some people might say).

Moving on! Umm, Barney is that you? I'm sorry I just really wanted to comment on that, also Lukadrien moment? Not to mention, how the heck can that dino huggie jump so high but hit the ground with a rumble? Then again, I'm not good with physics.

Okay, so let's quickly talk about Luka lying to Ladybug about knowing both the superheros identities. So, we know for a fact that Luka hates or at least dislikes lying, but in this moment he chose to lie, because he knows that it was the best option in this situation. The reason behind this is because he wants to protect Marinette, and I know that might sound confusing, but let me explain. Luka knows Marinette fairly well, and he knows that she has a tendency to overthink and freak out, so if Luka did tell her that he found out Marinette would freak out and start to think it's all her fault and that she should've been more careful and so on and so forth. This would make her a perfect victim for a akuma and Luka knows better than to let that happen, so he does one thing he knows will protect her, he lies to her.

Contiuing on, when Marinette said, "I will be Luka's best friend and I will love Adrien", I literally face palmed. I mean, I get it that the LS is bound to be endgame, but come on! Do we really need another reminder that it will happen eventually? Also, drag queen Alec? YASS QUEEN! SLAY QUEEN, SLAY!

And with that, we come to the end of the episode! So, I enjoyed the episode fairly well, with the exception of all the moments I salted it. But there are still so many questions that I have that are yet to be answered. Like, now that Luka knows both Ladybug and Chat Noir's secret identities, how will that revelation affect Luka's character in the show? Will their be others who find out their identities, and if so, how? (aka Alix) Will Luka's revelation affect how much screen time he gets on the show? And if so, will it increase or decrease? Will Alya find out that Luka knows? And, so much more. Not to mention, my opinion on Luka's revelation.

So, as I scroll through my social media, mainly instagram, I see posts where people read Luka's revelation as a way for him to also realize that the LS or Marinette and Adrien are "meant to be together", and though I respect those people's opinion, I don't really agree with it. I believe that Luka's revelation is just that. It's him finding out the truth that Marinette kept from him, and whether he decides to act more or be there more because of this is up to the writers and creators of the show. But I don't truly believe that that was a way to show that he ships them. I think he mainly supports Marinette's decisions and will always be there for her. And the reason of why I say this is because it is clear that Luka still has feelings for Marinette. I mean, come on, as I said in one of my comments during the episode, the realization on his face when he found out Chat's identity was full of sadness, contemplation, and maybe a bit of hurt. Which tells me that Luka still has at least some romantic feelings for Marinette. Not only that, he did the thing that he hates or dislikes most, lying, to protect her. But all in all I still enjoyed the episode and I can't wait to see where this revelation takes us.

Alright I’m super late like always (I’m sick this time) - doesn’t matter I mainly talk to myself 😂

So Episode 11 teaser

Sooo It seems like Mame decided to go with a painful episode 11 - despite all my begging for the last 2-3 weeks 🤣

I’m not worried tho. I’m not even bothered. I guess because I’ve been saying for the entirety how many more crying scenes we have left, how we still have Kings return & the girl left. These were plot points that I was always aware was coming unless they chopped them (which is always highly unlikely). Plus mame loves a dramatic episode 11 😌 She made sure to serve a delicious episode 10 before the chaos 😪 That’s why I said ‘a deceptive episode 10 teaser’ last time.

The teaser for epi 11 did a lot of set up to make it look like two cheating storylines intertwining - Fiat saw Leo cheat so he cheats.

Fiat using s€x to deal with his emotions is very much in character (he still does this inside his relationship with Leo even), the real issue is that sleeping with someone else to deal with his emotional baggage with Leo is against his current character growth. Which is one of the reasons it’s not likely to happen quite that way.

My issue with the end of episode 10 & the teaser for episode 11 is Leo’s behavior. Leo kissing someone else is wildly against character. Even if it’s blackmail. It’s not about him being the type that ties physical intimacy with love it’s about the fact that cheating even under the guise of blackmail goes against his makeup. It’s something that would eat at him and it’s not how he deals with issues. The only way to cut this corner is to have it be something to do with Fiat but even then it’s still gonna be a strain to buy def this far in the game when the build of their relationship has been being open with one another, working together rather than sacrificing in the name of.

I fear that no matter the reason this decision will cheapen the entirety of what the story has built thus far. Only the reveal will tell. My other issue here is that the main focus is on Fiat’s supposed infidelity rather than Leo’s very much real one. Still hoping that little dialogue Leo gave us about his own internal guilt or some kind of ‘if’ space rather than some more shaming for Fiat - butttt I also won’t hold my breath on that bit.

Since the beginning I’ve been waiting on Curly’s (King 😑) scene that seems to finally be coming around. Earlier I had 2 theories on this, either than it would be a call back memory or a set up but given the teaser neither of those fit. Yet…

I said I wasn’t gonna go over theories anymore and I’m not. I’m not really worried about either to be honest - I still can’t imagine much actually happening with Curly 🤢 & Im sure ol’ girl will be put back in her place most likely by Fiat. I always think it’s a bad idea for antagonist to confront the main lead in these kind of setups. What might annoy me about this episode is the entire set up. If chaos doesn’t have a rhyme or reason I hate it. If mame undermines the characterization and the story itself at the very end I’ll be disappointed no matter if it’s a HEA. I love to appreciate the journey in a romance. I don’t wanna say these are things she will do they’re just not what I want. Summary: Clementine and Aasim hang out at the mall and end up talking about their Disney crushes.

Clementine munched on her slice of pepperoni pizza with a sort of absentminded gaze, her eyes focused on the arcade that stood by the food court of the Prescott mall. The sounds of the different arcade games and blinking lights made her continue watching. It would be fun to do a double date there sometime. She remembered that Mitch had flexed that he was the best at arcade fighting games; she’d like to prove him wrong. A competitive smile pulled on the corners of Clementine’s lips at the thought. She had to text Louis and share this idea.

“How’s your pizza?”

Aasim’s question snapped Clementine out of her thoughts and she looked over at him with a piece of pepperoni sticking out of her mouth. With a quick toss she threw it back in.

“Good, how's your Hawaiian pizza?” Clementine couldn’t fully hide her mild disagreement in that flavor choice.

“Sweet, hammy and delicious, thank you,” Aasim tossed the rest of the slice in his mouth then brushed his hands. After he had fully chewed and swallowed he spoke again. “Are you about ready to check out the bookstore?” “Yeah,” Clementine scarfed down the rest of the slice and started gathering up the trash. Aasim helped out, then the pair walked towards the nearest trash can, disposing of the wrappers and greasy napkins before placing the food trays on top of the trash can.

“Alright, onwards,” Clementine smiled and started to walk alongside Aasim who was rather giddy with excitement for a potential new book. “Any particular book you’re thinking of getting?”

“Hmm,” Aasim thought deeply on that question, his fingers scratching his goatee as he debated his answer. “I think a historical drama would be nice to add to the collection or another Sherlock Holmes book. Although I was planning on letting Prisha pick the next one,” Aasim continued to think, causing a happy smile to appear on Clementine’s lips. She always felt herself smile when a friend was talking about something they were passionate about. It was as if their excitement lit up her own. “I could also pick up Pride and Prejudice since Ruby wanted that to be our next bedtime book.”

“Bedtime book? I thought you two weren’t living together?” Clementine quirked an eyebrow at Aasim.

“We aren’t. We set up a voice call each evening and it's really nice, helps me sleep too,” Aasim scratched the back of his head with a shy smile. “Anyways, there are a lot of choices for what I can buy today,”

“All good ones for the sounds of it,” Clementine nodded along, letting the ice in her soda cup shake with the movement before she lifted it up and took a long sip. So long in fact that she had sucked all the soda completely out of the cup, leaving only the pile of ice.

“Yes, maybe I’ll spoil myself today and pick up a few,” Aasim smiled at the thought.

“Hell yeah! Treat yourself!” Clementine tossed the cup through the air and landed it in the trash can. A proud smile immediately radiated on her face as she walked forward, a bit more pep in her step.

“What about you?” Aasim glanced over at his friend who for some reason was surprised by the question.

“Shit, umm, I’m not sure. Sophie and Renata were gushing about this young adult adventure story where you get to pick choices that change the story as you go. They really want to see the ending I get and Louis was practically bouncing at the idea of that,” Clementine smiled fondly at the memory; her boyfriend was a massive dork and she loved him for it.

“Well, that does sound like fun,” Aasim nodded along before his eyes caught sight of the bookstore. “There it is!” Aasim’s face broke out into a smile and without thinking he grabbed Clementine’s hand, not being able to wait a second more. Clementine laughed at her friend’s enthusiasm as she tried to regain her footing.

“Aasim, hold up!”

Her words made Aasim realize what he was doing and he immediately let go. “Sorry about that,”

“It’s no big deal,” Clementine readjusted her baseball cap and denim jacket. “Alright, let's buy some books!” She pumped her fist in the air with a happy smile. “Yes!” Aasim mirrored her gesture then spun around and led the way. His excitement continued to grow as he looked at the shelves upon shelves of books, small, happy gasps leaving his lips when he saw the abundant choices he had the pleasure of perusing. His hands kept grasping at different books: hardcover and paperback, mystery novels and historical dramas, he wanted them all.

Clementine smiled at her friend, shaking her head good naturedly at the future outcome this would cause. Casually walking alongside him, Clementine peeked down the different aisles, taking out books that piqued her interest, but nothing stuck with her. Soon she found the adventure book that she was interested in and picked it up, tucking it under her arm. “Aasim, how long do you want to spend here?”

“Forever,” Aasim smiled behind his pile of books. “I’m joking. I only need about an hour more,”

“Okay,” Clementine nodded, then stretched her arms casually. She didn’t mind spending the afternoon in a bookstore. She enjoyed seeing how happy her friend was too as he kept picking up more and more books until they reached a section that drew Clementine’s attention.

“Holy shit,” Clementine stepped forward. Her sudden exclamation had Aasim looking up from his endless choices to see that Clementine was standing in front of the coloring book section.

“What's grabbed your attention?” Aasim toted his books over and peered over his friend’s shoulder to see A Princess and the Frog coloring book.

“Tiana is AJ’s favorite Disney princess,” Clementine explained as she picked up the coloring book. “He says she reminds him of me which is really sweet.” Her smile grew as pleasant memories bubbled forth.

“She is a pretty great princess but I don’t think she would be my favorite. Though I did have my fair share of favorite Disney princesses and princes,”

“Oh yeah?” Clementine wanted to hear all about this. “Gonna spill your Disney crushes? I’ll share mine if you share yours,”

Aasim thought about it for a moment then gave a smile. “Deal! Okay, I’ll start. So growing up I always loved The Little Mermaid for a lot of reasons but one of them was that I had a massive crush on Ariel,”

“Ooo, I see your thing for redheads started at an early age,” Clementine nudged his side with a teasing smile.

“I will have you know that I love Ariel for many reasons besides her looks, like how she was a scholar,”

“And wore a seashell bra, mmhmm,” Clementine continued her teasing. “I don’t blame you, good choice.”

“Thank you. I also had a crush on Eric - he was such a himbo: so hot, so stupid but with a big heart,” Aasim smiled then looked over at Clementine. “Alright, your turn. Tell your Disney secrets,”

“Okay, so I had a huge crush on Prince Phillip,” Clementine noticed the surprise on Aasim’s face. “What? He fought a dragon, he fucking threw his sword and pierced Maleficent’s heart! He was a total badass,”

“No arguments here. He was awesome, very handsome. Great choice. Okay, and for the princesses?”

“Well, I had a few, but Kida. That outfit, how badass and kind she was, that fight scene!” Clementine sighed. “Yep, she definitely helped me realize that I liked girls,”

“Ooo, I love Kida! She’s amazing. But y’know which Disney movie had a power couple who were both hot?”

“Yes!”

“It was Mulan ! Shang and Mulan were super hot!” Aasim and Clementine said at the same time. Their eyes grew large and they fist bumped.

“Right!” Clementine quieted down a bit when she saw one of the employees look her way. “They were both sooo hot,”

“Capable fighters, hearts of warriors, extremely hot,” Aasim nodded in agreement. “Plus Shang was totally bi,”

“Totally,” Clementine smiled up at her friend. The two continued to talk as they made their way to the cashier where Clementine bought the adventure novel and coloring book. Once her purchase was done Aasim stepped forward, quickly discarded the books he couldn’t afford, and slid forward a historical drama, Pride and Prejudice and a new journal.

“Oh, that's a nice journal,” Clementine admired the deep brown leather journal with a small, intricate design on its edges.

“Thanks, I’m excited to use it. Journaling is always so peaceful,”

“Hmm, maybe I’ll try it out,” Clementine saw the excitement in Aasim’s eyes at those words.

“Yes! I’m sure you’re going to love it,”

“Okay, then we can be journal bros and bi bros,” Clementine smiled up at Aasim.

He immediately returned it. “Sounds good to me.” Aasim strolled forward when suddenly he remembered something. “Oh yeah, I heard from Brody that there’s a good ice cream shop right by the food court. Wanna head there?”

Clementine’s eyes sparkled at those words. There was nothing better than grabbing some ice cream on a hot day. “Lead the way!” Aasim nodded then took the lead, excitedly starting up a new topic with Clementine as they headed toward sweet treats.
