like ok. not to double post but i am going to try very very hard to be hopeful. the future is not fixed. this was a fucking horrible outcome and the consequences are and will be continue to be absolutely dire. but it is not permanent. things can change. this will radicalize people who will then use that energy to try to make things better. this will make people realize that we need each other and we are nothing without community and mutual aid and it will create networks of care and deepen the networks that already exist. the justices will die or retire and new justices will take their place and they may be just as bad or even worse but they also might be better. maybe we won’t even have justices. maybe this will be the breaking point where we decide (or really reach critical mass of people deciding) we aren’t going to live like this anymore and we look at what other countries are doing and how they fought to get there and we fight even harder in that same direction. these other cases are in even more jeopardy now but maybe they wont be overturned. abortions will still happen and maybe people will pursue careers and volunteer opportjnities to make sure that even in light of this they will happen safely. the future is not fixed. this is the middle of the story, not the end of it and not the beginning of it. idk
#im saying all this in splutters and only half believing it. but people made this country. buildings exist as they do because people decided#what they would look like and where they would be. organizations and laws exist because people saw needs and advocated for them and shaped t#them to their liking. every aspect of our lives and cultures exists because people made decisions based on their lived experiences (and most#mostly along the axis of mattering / belonging or unmattering / unbelonging). but when buildings are put up they aren’t guaranteed to stay a#and aspects of them can change and aspects of them can be replaced. same with laws and organizations and institutions and governments. like#idk. im agitated and distracted but what im trying to say is that the world is fluid and not permanent. we are inundated with messages in al#all forms about how we are powerless and small etc etc but that’s only how the world appears to be and not really how it is. and when we#realize that we can come together and help liberate each other and nurture each other so we realize how very much we matter (and belong). an#and then we can work towards the world as it could be. it’s a long game and a hard game but we have to play it and we already are. brace#yourself the world is broken time is not a straight line we are braving the storm etc etc ***** said it better LMFAOOOOO but it’s really#true. there is still hope and it is not all lost. all of the issues are interconnected and we can fight them by creating something brand new#together. by imagining a new future together and holding each other’s hands as we climb into it. yeah#purrs#also another thing. they WANT us to feel hopeless and afraid. they WANT us to concede power to them. so i am going to try to say fuck you. i#am going to try to look them in the eye and say i will not budge an inch. you can take away protections and resources for vulnerable#communities because you’re afraid of them and you hate them but you will NEVER be able to destroy those communities. we will always be here.

All about Gemini
As people I know, I have family, co-workers, crushes... There's quite a lot on the list. In my humble life before astrology, I swore they were cardinals as Gemini always approached me first and yes, it took a while to record that no, they were mutable LOL. In my experience with these people, they are people with active lives who are doing several things at the same time and who like to talk (and gossip too, but that's ok, where I live it's cultural 😆). However, they are not people I've had contact with for a long time and we always end up moving away as time goes by.
As a general energy, I cannot escape it, but it is that of duality. The angel and the devil, death and life, the yes and the no... Even If in my list of colors of the signs (which are made with the intention of bringing the strength of the sign in your life), I see Gemini like black and white. Simple but effective, it transmits its message effectively. This duality also reminds me of the air itself... we know that it exists and it is proven that it exists... but it is not visible, or smellable (you smell something, but not the AIR itself)... I say this because the occult sciences are ridiculed because they have no concrete proof... and neither is the air. This lack of proof, but still existing, reminds me a lot of Gemini (Am I spacing out 😆).
As always, I need to say that when I write in the post, I need to put what the experts and the most important astrological community say and think, because I am responsible for every word I write, but here I always say that it is just my point of view, my studies and my evolution, because I’m the type of person who always wants to be better the next day. So let me tell you this: for me there is no underdeveloped aspect! For me, the underdeveloped part will always be our “Shadow self” that will appear when we most need to defend ourselves! Underdeveloped is our deepest instinct and we need to look at it as a Digivolution and not a Pokémon evolution (nerd references!!!).
Gemini is known for their agility and quick-wittedness. They are always on their toes and ready to respond to any situation that comes their way. This is a valuable trait to have in a fast-paced, ever-changing world where quick thinking and flexibility are necessary for success. However, their constant alertness can also lead to impatience. Gemini can sometimes become restless and easily bored, always looking for the next exciting thing to capture their attention. This impatience can cause them to jump from one thing to another without fully committing or seeing things through to completion. Exhausting their minds and bodies in this process.
It says it's okay to have multiple talents. You know, in the world of work there are two ends (just like Gemini LOL), the one that says you need to be an expert in one area and the other that you need to know a little bit about everything... I won't go into detail on this subject, but when they say that Gemini never goes deep into anything but does a little bit of everything I don't see it as a negative aspect, their versatility is their individuality, but I won't sugarcoat them, they can be scattered.
They don't take things to heart, as they are more emotionally cool and mental, I'm not saying they don't feel because everyone has feelings and I already made a huge post talking about it... But they take everything more to the "professional" side " of things and not for the emotional and that makes them show in the exterior an aloof and uninvolved personality.
As I mentioned earlier, those born under the Gemini zodiac sign are often friendly and sociable individuals. They have a natural ability to connect with others and are often drawn to situations where they can engage in conversation and communication. However, communication does not only refer to verbal exchanges; it encompasses all forms of expression, including art. Their social nature makes them a social butterfly, and they often enjoy interacting with a wide range of people. They are incessantly talkative and may find it difficult to remain quiet for too long. Despite their talkative nature, Gemini individuals also have a strong listening ear. They are often interested in hearing what others have to say and may have a knack for putting people at ease in social situations… because you know, they are the Mutable Air… they’re receivers.
It can be said that the great love of this sign is freedom, they are an air sign, which has no barriers, and this gives them a natural inclination to explore and move around freely without feeling restricted. Their ruling planet, Mercury, also adds to their need for movement, communication, and change. While this free-spirited nature can be an asset in many ways, it can also make it difficult for Gemini to settle down and commit to a specific path or person. They may find it challenging to stay in one place or focus on a single task for an extended period, preferring instead to keep their options open and maintain their sense of freedom.
Geminis are known for their broad range of interests and their natural curiosity, which often leads them to acquire a vast amount of knowledge on various subjects. They have a sharp intellect and a natural gift for communication, which allows them to express their ideas and thoughts articulately and confidently. However, their wide range of knowledge can sometimes make them appear superficially opinionated. They may hold strong opinions on a variety of subjects, but their opinions may lack depth or nuance due to their tendency to skim the surface of a topic rather than delving deeply into it.
And last but not least, they’ve a light-hearted nature and the ability to infuse a sense of fun and playfulness into many aspects of their lives. They have a youthful energy and a natural curiosity that can make them seem lively and spontaneous, yet this lightheartedness can sometimes border on silliness and immaturity. They may have a tendency to engage in childish or frivolous behavior, which can sometimes make it difficult for others to take them seriously or view them as mature individuals.
So, in other words:
At their best, Gemini can be:
Intelligent: Geminis are naturally curious and have a thirst for knowledge. They are quick learners and have the ability to absorb information rapidly, making them knowledgeable and well-informed individuals.
Versatile: Geminis are adaptable and can easily switch between different roles and situations. They can be chameleons and fit into any environment, which makes them great team players.
Sociable: Geminis are outgoing and love socializing with others. They have an innate ability to connect with people from all walks of life, making them great communicators and excellent networkers.
Humorous: Geminis have a great sense of humor and can always make others laugh. They have a quick wit and can find humor in any situation, which makes them a joy to be around.
Resourceful: Geminis are skilled at manipulating the system to benefit themselves and others. They have a knack for finding creative solutions to problems and can think outside the box when faced with challenges.
At their worst, Gemini can be:
Deceptive: Geminis have a reputation for being two-faced and dishonest. They can present different personas to different people, making it hard to know who they truly are.
Treacherous: Geminis can be disloyal and untrustworthy. They may betray others' trust and use their knowledge and connections for personal gain.
Loud: Geminis can be talkative and sometimes dominate conversations, making it hard for others to get a word in edgewise.
Manipulative: Geminis may act nice to people they normally ignore just before asking for a favor. They can use their charm and wit to manipulate situations and people to their advantage.
Scheming: Geminis may constantly scheme and plan, even if it means backstabbing others. They may talk behind people's backs and use gossip to manipulate others.
As the third sign, Gemini speaks of our first desire to get involved with the other. The first two signs of the zodiac, Aries and Taurus, are associated with individuality, self-discovery, and building a foundation. It is with Gemini that we realize that we are not alone and that we need to express ourselves as well as understand, that's why he is also changeable, because first we listen and join a group and then start to put our own ideas.
We already made it clear that Gemini is the mutable air sign with all the communication parts already said LOL. But I see the air element of Gemini as the thirst to learn, to listen to improve, to also question all the world's problems because they are the ones who receive the information and need to improve it for the next ones.
Gemini individuals are known for their intense curiosity, but this curiosity can sometimes lead to distraction and a lack of focus, which can in turn create feelings of anxiety and self-doubt. However, the key to overcoming these challenges lies in embracing the symbolism of your opposite sign, Sagittarius. By focusing your concentration and attention on your greater goals, and by integrating with the energy of Sagittarius, you can transform any sense of dispersion into a powerful union of forces that will help you achieve your objectives and find meaning in your pursuits, ultimately leading to a reduction in anxiety.
As the ruling planet of Gemini, Mercury's influence can be seen in a number of ways. First and foremost, Mercury inspires Gemini's innate curiosity and love of learning. Those born under this sign are often quick-witted and able to absorb and process new information rapidly. They enjoy exploring new ideas and engaging in intellectual discourse, which can help to satisfy their need for mental stimulation. Mercury is also associated with communication, and as such, Gemini individuals are known for their excellent communication skills. They are often great at expressing themselves verbally and in writing, and are skilled at adapting their communication style to suit a range of different situations and audiences. In addition to these qualities, Mercury is also linked to reason and rationality. This can manifest in Gemini individuals as a tendency towards logical thinking and a desire for clarity and order in their thoughts and ideas. They are often able to see things from multiple perspectives, and are skilled at finding solutions to complex problems.
Now the association with the tarot, the suit of swords is a suit that in my view is kill or die, there is no middle ground, this energy of yes or no is Gemini. As The Magician, you can see all the duality he has, he can be alone as well as have an audience in front of him, he is surrounded by red roses (feminine) as well as white lilies (masculine) and his robes follow the same colors, it connects the high, the divine with the material and all these opposites connect it with a sign. As for The Lovers, I can already say that in the Marseille tarot and in the Rider-Smith-Waite tarot these card meanings are totally different and that is totally Gemini for me, but it talks about choices as well as people, again, the yes and the no.
Gemini men are often seen as charming and charismatic, with a quick wit and a love of conversation. They tend to be outgoing and sociable, and are often skilled at making connections with others. They may have a tendency to be restless or easily bored, and may enjoy pursuing multiple interests or hobbies at once.
Gemini women, on the other hand, may be seen as intelligent and independent, with a strong sense of curiosity and a desire for intellectual stimulation. They may be skilled at communication and may enjoy engaging in debates or discussions with others. Like Gemini men, they may also have a tendency to be restless or easily bored, and may benefit from pursuing multiple interests or hobbies simultaneously.

Something I find interesting is how the show frames the Titan as this powerful force of nature and wild magic, whose existence provides and serves as the foundation for everything... But also reiterating in Hollow Mind that the Titan is dead, in O Titan, Where Art Thou that Titans aren’t divine gods, they’re also just people or used to be at least. And it makes me think of how Philip clearly bastardized and appropriated something familiar and important to the people of the isles, and used the superficial facade to introduce this idea of a divine creator and god who guides and judges every move.
And I have to wonder... This is all purely speculative mind you. But I recently took a class on shamanism, and I read a book where the author makes a point of how the locals set out offerings for the spirits, only to be bemused that said spirits were just ants. Only to THEN realize, the locals were fully aware of this, that the spirits were indeed ants; And likewise, how a lot of shamanistic cultures don’t see the ‘supernatural’ as existing in a realm beyond our own, but really just being as much of a part of this world as we are. Correct me if I’ve made any errors or generalizations, I’m just repeating what I was taught in that elective but...
With the idea of magic being presented as a more natural thing surrounding people, I have to wonder if that’s the point of the Titan? This idea that people revere nature and various aspects of it, while seeing themselves as no more separate from it. That they are fully aware of the mortal limitations of these things, from animals to plants and so forth, but that doesn’t stop them from recognizing the significance of these natural things regardless. A cosmocentric view of life that contrasts with Philip’s, which very much relies upon this idea of a divine God above all, who creates and dictates everything.
So he finds the concept closest to this that he can wrap his mind around on, but instead of using that as a bridge to properly learn and comprehend, he just continues to misinterpret and misunderstand the Titan as something it’s really not. It’s a very Western way of thinking, that association with ‘spirits’ as divine and otherworldly, as existing in a separate space from nature itself so to speak.
Kind of like how a lot of people misunderstand Shintoism’s kami to be necessarily synonymous with the idea of gods, in a polytheistic sense; When that isn’t exactly how it works. The idea that yes the Titan has a life of its own that it’s breathed into everyone, that everyone carries on quite literally because of how the cycle of energy works; But it’s also very much dead and not existing beyond some mystical veil to dictate everyone’s actions as a God, hence that one witch’s skepticism towards Belos’ preaching.
I dunno. It’s possible I’m misunderstanding this or that’s NOT what the show is going for. But from what I understand, a lot of magic is rooted in nature itself. It’s more cosmocentric than an anthropocentric religion that Philip is used to, where humanity (or in this case human-like figures) and its identical creator are not the end-all, be-all of existence. There is a recognition and respect or nature regardless of how ‘invincible’ or ‘untouchable’ it is, it doesn’t need to be all-powerful to deserve reverence.
And given how Philip represents colonization as an antithesis to the show’s morals, plus his hatred of wild magic, and I wonder if it’s deliberate. Or at least reflective of a larger societal trend. The idea that you can’t tame nature but also don’t misunderstand it as some divine entity with an anthropocentric mind either. It doesn’t think like us but it’s still valid and we are a part of it, and must embrace and become in touch with that in order to truly connect with magic.
Animals and nature weren’t created by God for humans and their natural state is not to be commanded and harnessed by them, either; But we can still live off of them as they live off of us. Again, they’re not some otherworldly and detached gods, but their mundanity doesn’t warrant disrespect either. It’s just a simple appreciation for nature, limitations and all, because we’re also a part of nature and limited yet capable of plenty. Nature doesn’t need to be personified to be understood.

Just some filler from the book I started writing🤷‍♀️
____________________
Life.
In the English dictionary, life can be defined as the existence of an individual, human being or animal.
In philosophy, life is the aspect of existence that processes, acts, reacts, evaluates, and evolves through growth.
It is the state of which an organism is still performing the acts that prevents passing.
Life is something that everyone on this earth experiences from the day conceived from within the womb.
Birth is the first breath, sound, step into life. Life is eternal.
—————————
Death.
The destruction or permanent end of something.
Or in philosophy, death is typically regarded as a great evil, especially if it strikes someone too soon.
It is the state of which an organism stops doing acts needed to survive completely.
Death is an inescapable goodbye.
Life may be eternal,
But death is even more so.
—————————
Life and death.
Two contrasting concepts used to signify the beginning and end of existence as we know it.
The start and finish of any scene. The white and black of any rainbow. Good, and bad, of every outcome.
Many think that they are complete opposites. That they have nothing in common. But what if I told you they have many similarities?
It sounds odd, doesn't it? But believe me when I say that life and death aren't entirely different.
One thing they have in common is that both are questions unanswered.
Many people ask what is life? What is the meaning of life? Or the most popular being: Who made life? What made life? Where did it come from?
Opinions worldwide differ from 'we evolved from apes' to 'the universe was created by the big bang'
Another theory would be we were made by gods. Supreme deity that had existed before existence itself. And different cultures have different gods.
I don't know the answer to that, nor do I choose to have an opinion.
On the opposing side, people ask, 'where do you go when you die?'
Some believe when you die, you go to heaven if you were good in your life, and hell if you were bad.
Others believe you will be reincarnated into another body without your memories.
Another lot says you will just be gone. No way to be aware of whom, where or what you are.
Again, I don't know which is right or wrong. All I do know is that people fear both concepts.
You see, we humans are incredibly cowardly creatures. We fear what we do not understand. Thus, we created theories to pretend to be brave and answer what we do not know
People debate which is scarier between the two. Most say death, I don't blame them, though. Only those who have experienced it can truly comprehend what it is.
A smaller amount, says life. I don't blame them, either. The longer we exist on this earth, the more we try to build our society to fit the different ideals of our vast majority.
Different motives and comments flowing and crashing in on each other like an ocean filled to the brim of waste and useless material.
Making it difficult for those with less like them to prosper. No, I don't blame them at all.
But at the same time, I don't agree with either of these options.
No, I think the both of them are incredibly terrifying.
That little space where one hangs in the balance between the both of them, and it only takes one action to tip the scale in favor of one.
That space where you're so close to death, but not quite there yet. So close that you can see your entire life flash before your eyes and then abruptly stop when you reach where you are at the time. Like a cliffhanger to a suspenseful blockbuster.
I tell you this, so you know this is my position right now.
The moment those words spilled from the vice principals mouth. I knew that my death was set in stone.
Because I knew that the moment they saw me, I was involved. My ghost was soon to walk the living realm.
And no, I don't believe in ghosts. In fact, their existence is an entirely different story, meant to be told by an entirely different person.
If I were to use them in this context, though. I would say, 'the ghosts of my past have come back to haunt me.'
An expression that means the actions you performed in the past left unfinished are still in effect.
What I mean by that is I wish I didn't go back for my notebook last night. Because now it's my problem.
There is nothing more terrifying than being alive knowing that you're going to die.

Thank you @actualanxiousswampwitch for the Pride ask! Answering for Rigel of course. :D Rigel shares my identity overall, which is demisexual and sapphic. 1. Are there cultural or lore specific aspects to their identity? If applicable, does their species affect it? There's no real homophobia in the game and I do have that as part of Rigel's backstory. She's grown up in an environment without homophobia, without anyone telling her she did or did not have to marry,nd has never been made to feel wrong or odd because she likes ladies. We aren't told a lot about Roegadyn in the game, and Rigel grew up outside of those conventions we do know (ie, she obviously does not have the same sort of name as other Seawolf characters). But I've headcanoned them as being just as relaxed and groovy about things. 10. Does your oc celebrate Pride? How? If Pride existed in Eorzea or Rigel was in our world, I think she absolutely would. If Rigel had lived in the 1980s I think she would have been out there with ActUP because the idea of AIDS patients being ignored and left to die would have pressed every rage button in her body. I can't see her enjoying a Pride parade unless she had a balcony or somewhere removed from the crowds to watch it from a distance, because of all the crowds and noise. I think she'd be more likely to attend Pride concerts or art shows, or appreciate drag queen bingo. And I can also see her wearing the loudest Pride rainbow apparel completely unapologetically all year round, just not in June, when the mood strikes her. 11. Is your oc open about their identity? Are they more lowkey or more blunt about it? Why or why not?
Rigel really doesn't flirt with men or women, but I think that most people could figure out she's sapphic if they knew her, just by her responses to things (for instance, asking other women to dance at social functions and seeming more at ease with them if they're dancing). It's also been pretty clear just by observing her that she's very slow to get attached to anyone romantically. Her relationship with Lucia is well known, and she and Lucia both make it clear they adore each other, so it's very open that she is sapphic.

would you have any advice or tips for someone wanting to delve into queer theory? I honestly have no clue how I would go approaching it
i can't necessarily say i'm well versed in queer theory but i can offer some tips for the emotional journey that reading lgbt accounts and opinions can put u through.
1. honestly just read as much as you can and see what people are saying to each other and don't push yourself to form any clear opinions or take anything as truth unless you've fully thought it through. learn the dogwhistles of dangerous groups and avoid them but otherwise just read broadly and think deeply and critically, and form your own opinions slowly and be aware that everyone is kind of wrong and kind of right but to vastly varying degrees. you can start with queer studies primers made in academia and supplement with queer erotic literature/zines/archival work. a comic about gay experience is the same amount queer theory as an academic article is, think slowly about what might shape the authors' points of view of the world based on their positionality (gender, age, class, cultural background). learn the big historical trends like different feminist movements and how they affected queer political life and it'll make interpreting the texts a lot easier.
2. don't go in expecting to find a right answer but there are definitely wrong answers, lgbt existence is a site of conflict. it is a site of struggle and contradiction and co-creation and co-evolution in which words and social formations shift constantly and are highly regionalized. everyone has been arguing with each other over every single part of how we live and talk and interact as long as there have been 2 gay people in the same space together. every site of queerness/gender incorrectness is an individual site of creation and evolution that is also inherently collaborative because we are all doing it at the same time. we are all making a queer life for ourself for the first time, in a way that has never been done before. be aware of the plurality of experience and how every person is a different cross section of time space culture experience that must find their own answers about gender and sexuality. but also there are people that find answers that aid hegemony and serve themselves and the ruling class over the liberation of all people.
3. lgbt topics and issues immediately provoke some of the most intimate and fear/shame steeped places in your intellectual and emotional self. by our existence lgbt people challenge fundamental organizing structures of hegemonic society. morality and punishment, capitalist/colonial family structures and what we think of as a normal life, makes people question and doubt how we identify and categorize human beings, challenges whether the society we live in is structured in a way that actually functions. you will read things about how people live and think and talk and interact and you will have an emotional reaction. feel these deeply and sit with them, investigate the source and see if it is fear and shame from being indoctrinated by a gender oppressive system in which deviant sexuality is inherently dangerous to the social order.
4. remember to read firsthand accounts of lgbt disnefranchised/working class poc because that is where the culture is! struggle with the more cerebral and linguistic aspects of queer theory but sometimes it's just not as important as how poor lgbt people have lived and how we have found joy and love with each other. so much of queer culture as we know it is specifically black trans culture from the world of bars and balls and parties and sex workers, be careful when reading queer theory which is mostly written by middle to upper class white people who wanted their identity to be seen as a legitimate field of study. many works of lgbt academia have that underlying tension of people talking with authority about things they were not historically a part of when there are firsthand accounts u can find. remember that there is an abundance of queer words on the internet, you just have to try a little harder to find and curate it for yourself. try to build a functioning intellectual framework for yourself through which you can slowly learn to discern what is important and true. it's gonna take a while. let it change you!

fluid is turning into the most beautiful community that i could have never envisioned when we started this. it started as a birthday party, for myself and a few others at the house, where i booked a dj, then two, then a couple of live acts, and then came the tattoo flash artists and vendors… now, we have a community. and it's not that dumb move to la collective bullshit. that's the crazy thing. we didn't plan this. we didn't create this with the intention of bringing a bunch of people together for something specific--it just kind of, happened. out of our backyard, out of my studio, out of a group of queers that just wanted to have their friends play their music and sell their art and tattoo people. and now, we're at a budget of almost $2000 in artist payouts and have been able to contribute back to the community in an actually meaningful way. the things people have said to me about how much these parties mean to them has been baffling, i never thought it would mean this much to anyone other than us, than me even. i'm still somehow shocked that other people want to put work and effort into this. i'm used to being the one who has to convince people to care. i remember throwing literary trivia nights at the cultural center i worked at in college, buying all my friends' tickets so they would come and they would keep putting on the event. the only thing that made it profitable was me and a group of MFA students that came every month to show off their knowledge on classic russian literature.
i have never been part of something that involves other people that i have wanted to pour my soul into so whole-heartedly. it's not that i haven't spent this much work on something, i have. i put more hours into brightstar, even. but why? to make money? that wasn't it. i never saw a paycheck. my billable hours were metaphorical, at best. i put more time into novels, but that was always alone. i have poured countless hours into countless projects and jobs and people, and fluid drives me absolutely crazy sometimes with how much work it has turned out to be, so quickly i may add, but it drives my crazier when TB proposes we take a break and put it on pause because--no, i need this. i need this as much as our community needs this. i need this event like i want to be there, like i want to put it on, like i want to see everyone enjoy themselves and see my friends play their music on a stage we built, on a stage i paid for, in a space that is safe and protected and designed for them. for us. and not only have i never done something so connected to who i am and what i actually want to be doing, but never have i done something like this with other people who care as much as i do. never have i been surrounded by people who see importance in the same thing(s) as me, not like this.
i will not overwork myself into the ground because this is worth it. because this has to be sustainable, because i want to do it for a long time. because i want to do all of it. it is not a "work myself to death until i'm done with this job" it is not a get rich quick plan. it is so much more than that (and i doubt we'll ever become rich from this, no matter how long we do it, but that's also kind of the point). we're doing things differently, and it's harder, and it takes longer, and more effort, and it's so so worth it. we are not simply throwing every DJ and local artist we can find onto a flyer and charging more and more for tickets so we can afford the lineup. we choose every single person because we're obsessed with their music, because they are part of our community, because they get it. we think about every aspect of every event, with firebenders and mermaids and now aerial performers. these are things i barely knew existed a year ago. and i can't wait to see what we come up with next. it's so much, and i am so grateful to be finally spending my time and energy on something that fuels my purpose. i thought my purpose was to create, and i do still think that is part of it. but more so, i feel like my purpose is to take care of people. and to make people feel less alone. i tried to do that through my novels, but i never realized how much of that is at the core of hosting events, especially queer/trans events, as well. it's the whole point. it's not about having the coolest club or party in la, it's about the people who show up, who keep showing up, about making them feel welcome and warm and excited and belonging all at once. and i see that in everyone's faces when they come to our shows, and i hear it when they tell me how much they love coming to every one.
i suppose i'm still surprised every time someone comes back again, as i am so accustomed to people leaving.

Neuroisocracy: Polity and Communication
"Signs of transhumanity: sexlessness, artificial reproduction, distributed individuality, and body enhancement with implants." - A prominent representative of the FM-2030 transhumanist movement
Here we will talk about theoretically possible communication and political structure in Angelomorphic society - neural network isocracy, or simply neuroisocracy.
Correct information exchange for better organization of society in the world and its best transformation without unity of consciousness is impossible, but is possible with implementation of interpersonal network technology (distributed individuality by means of Brainet extended neurocommunication technology), which will allow uniting our selves on information level, similar to how it already exists on the foundation level of the universe, based on metaphysical foundations of Angelomorphy and some research. In particular, research suggests that each of us is a kind of alter ego of every other person and of the universe as such.
According to Doctor of Philosophy D. Dubrovsky, overcoming the accumulating global problems is possible by continuing anthropogenesis, changing the biological nature of man. The famous science fiction writer S. Lem was of the same opinion. The philosopher Peter Singer stated that there is a biologically conditioned tendency toward egoism, gender stratification, and hierarchical membership of society, rooted in the very nature of human society and counteracting any attempts at egalitarian social reform. To resolve this problem, new genetic and neurological technologies must be employed to modify aspects of our nature. A new system of communication will become not only a new form of communication, but, as in the case of a new form of reproductive organization of society, an important component of the new political order of the heirs of the human species.
The emergence of the human mind is closely linked to the integration of human beings into human society. Human society is qualitatively different from communities of other mammals because of the ability of humans to create and develop language. It performs two functions: the exchange of information between individuals and the creation of models of reality. These two functions at the level of social integration are analogous to the functions of the nervous system at the level of integration of cells into a multicellular organism.
In the material of language, people create new symbolic models of reality (in particular, scientific and metaphysical theories) that nature has not created at the level of our nervous system. Language is like an extension of the human brain. Moreover, it is a single extension of the brain of all members of society. It is a collective model of reality, which is perfected by all members of society and passed on from generation to generation. It has long been noted that human society can be viewed as a single organism. The body of this organism is the totality of all people and things made by them. Its "physiology" is the culture of society and, above all, language.
Brainet can work as a new type of computational architecture, such as a kind of biological computer, where each member of the distributed network acts as a separate neuron of the whole brain. Brainet is rhizomic, i.e. decentralized between all participants, without a single center, but communicating through distributed networks between selves (living subjects), various systems, databases, etc. The network in the future will be invasive and will grow into the brain while the fetus is still in the womb of the incubator. It should be done exactly at the embryonic stage due to the fact that this is the moment when brain dimorphism is manifested, and for perfect data transfer and perfect mutual understanding the brains should develop approximately equally, and the perception of the Network by the brain should be as natural as possible, as if it were its inseparable part.
It is also only possible to do this with incubator breeding, for obvious reasons. If everything in the world is connected and changeable, then your individuality is also a stream of temporal data, and if there is data coming to you, in particular from other subjects via brain networks, this does not deprive you of a conditioned self.
The example of two Siamese twins from Canada, who were born in 2006 with connected brains, a common thalamus and nervous system, whereby they could communicate with thoughts, sense each other through a common nervous system, and so on, but they had strikingly different personalities, which was noted by their parents.
Trans-personal brain-network, i.e. Self with + sign, when preserving conditional self, you are also distributed throughout the whole rhizomic network, which allows creating, among other things, the most effective ways to manage internal processes of society, technology, and of course information, qualitatively improving it.
From neurocommunication we move to a possible form of political order - to neuroisocracy, as polity under angelomorphism - to a new res publica of new people. According to the philosopher C. Apel, in a society of perfect communication everything is agreed to by all and any decision is the result of the discourses of all participants in communication. Isocracy itself is when each member of society controls the whole system. This means equality before the law and equality in governance. Isocracy extends the concept of liberal rights and their embodiment in a democratic form of government to include the right of ownership of oneself, and of natural resources as a source of public revenue. Protected by constitutional guarantees, isocracy is independent of the vagaries of opinion, a secular and republican form of government. In terms of organizational structure, isocracy stands for a federalist network and a Mutuelist economic order. One might think of it as a direct democracy. Neuro-means that certain previously described neuro-technologies are used to implement such governance. It is essentially a perfected form of networked direct democracy.
The political system would be a fully decentralized system. P2P (peer to peer) implies equality of participants throughout the system. The economy, most likely organized through free cooperation with a common task to create the common good, will be based on equal cooperative production with collegial management and equal ownership - common ownership of producers and consumers. Open cooperatives based on public resources, which differ from collective capitalism and from state economies in their commitment to the creation and expansion of common goods for society, will be places of association and creation, and perhaps even of large families.
We also envision the rejection of all total institutions like prisons, as well as mental hospitals and schools in their modern totalist sense. In parallel with the development of direct networking, a detailed study of the brain is required in order to understand better what real abnormalities may exist in it and whether it is possible to influence them, i.e. we can say that with the development of technology in any case psychiatry will become a full science, without the present prescription of drugs by selection. Education as a whole will make a serious leap upward with development. Prisons, on the other hand, as a disciplinary institution, became obsolete long ago, but still exist as a terrible atavism. There is nothing adequate in the fact that a person is imprisoned for many years in horrible conditions for violating mostly contrived laws from above. In an angelomorphic society, extremely serious crimes can be punished by rewriting a person's identity, but any disciplinary punishments that create a completely unhealthy society these days must be eliminated.
Ant colonies have already been mentioned before, but it is worth dwelling on them again. Each ant colony consists of many sterile females and one or more fertile queens. In fact, the queen's only role is to lay eggs. The queen here is analogous to the artificial intelligence incubator systems of Angelomorphic society, while the entire society is not sterile females, but beings that are asexual and incapable of reproduction.
Neither the queen nor any of the other members of the colony are in a position to assess what to do in any given situation, and none of them commands their congeners. In Angelomorphic society, a similar social paradigm is very likely when neural network communication systems are implemented.
And since we have touched on natural species and their similarities to the future society we are describing, the following points can also be remembered. According to some philosophers, industrial and post-industrial society does not suit man and his nature, it is extremely difficult for man to feel fulfilled here, because man is still essentially a primate, and according to these philosophers he should return to his natural primate life. There may be some truth in this, but that is not what we want to say. By continuing the evolution of man artificially, to his becoming an angelomorph, we change both his nature and his natural needs and stimuli. That is, the natural environment of the angelomorph is no longer the natural environment for the old primitive man, and the new environment of the future is more than natural and desirable for him. If we place an angelomorph and the old man in the conditions of the primitive Stone Age, it is likely that the angelomorph will not feel in his environment, and will simply die out for lack of the same incubators, or if possible make an attempt to reproduce his natural environment. And we think that the economic structure will also be changed in a natural way, because if for humans capitalism at this stage of development is a natural economy, although maybe less natural than hunting and gathering, then for angelomorphs a completely different form of economic and political structure will be natural.

Okok for a country music ask either
which song do you personally believe to be the absolute best country song of all time?
Or
Why do you believe that so many people people of our generation dislike country music? (because it honestly breaks my heart that good country isn't always given the love it deserves)
I can’t say it’s the best all around, there are better examples of a true country sound and musicianship, but as far as I’m concerned, Sunday Morning Coming Down is the greatest song ever written. I’ve talked about my love for this song before. A couple times actually. There is no song that resonated at my core more than that one did when I was Going Through It. But this does give me an idea to maybe long post about Kris Kristofferson sometime because he’s my favorite songwriter of all time :)
As for why people dislike country… I don’t think it’s a generational problem. I think it’s cultural mostly.
In rural America, country music is still alive and well. Outside of that…. Eh. Nashville “country” is thriving with the suburbanites who think farmhouses are actually all white, I guess. But typically this dichotomy between rural/small town Americans loving country and the rest of America hating it has existed as long as the music itself has been around. So it’s not generational. It’s cultural. And why those who are outside of the culture won’t give it a chance boils down to two reasons 1. Misconceptions or 2. Classism/“other”-ism
1. Misconceptions: this is more true now than in the past because of the gap between country music and country radio, but if I had no background knowledge of country music and turned it to country radio and heard Kane Brown, I wouldn’t be impressed either. And we’re still feeling the sting of Bro country, so everyone thinks country music is just about men objectifying women in their trucks. But even before country radio went downhill, misconceptions and stereotyping was a problem. They’d dismiss country as just “drinking and cheating songs.” Which country does have plenty of drinking songs — some better than others — but these people completely ignore how the better songs take these real and painful aspects of life and turn it into something beautiful. They ignore the songs about every other aspect of life. They ignore the stories. They ignore the musicianship. They ignore the artistry. Granted anymore it’s not entirely their fault. We need to have better representation of country music in the mainstream. Cuz country radio ain’t it.
2. -isms: mostly I’d say classism. Country music was made by the people. And the “people” include the backwoods Bible thumpin tobacco spittin hicks. It gave a voice to the poor, to the forgotten, to the every man. Most people who aren’t these people don’t want to associate with these people and they certainly don’t want The Other people trying to mingle with them and have a say in society. I mean Kris Kristofferson’s own parents disowned him because he gave up a prestigious military career to instead write songs for hillbillies. His parents wanted nothing to do with that. They didn’t want to associate with hillbilly music and viewed him as an embarrassment to their family and cut him out of their lives. Country music is rooted in the truth. Of course his parents couldn’t stand it — people like that don’t care about what is real, they only care about appearances. Being in good standing with ~ society ~. And isn’t that just the whole thing? Really the correct -ism is classism. And it’s not even necessarily that all people of a higher class don’t enjoy country music and that all poor people do — it’s the desire to be a higher class, or at the very least perceived as such. And that’s the actual heart of classism. Of course, I also tied in the divide between rural and suburban/urban. But I don’t think that’s the biggest issue here. I think it’s class. I think it’s wanting be seen as high class. And poor people are viewed as low class. And rural people are viewed as low class 🤷🏼‍♀️ either way, it’s dumb hillbilly music to them. But the people who don’t care about that kind of shallow stuff — no matter what their actual tax bracket is or what culture they came from — this obviously isn’t a problem for them if they don’t care about being viewed as “higher” than others. I’m not talking about them.
Well… I’m sure this post will be received well lol.
Also, I’m not saying you have to like country music. We all have different taste. It’s more so the disrespect that country music gets. Even if you don’t like it or it’s just not your thing, you should at least be able to respect it as a legitimate art form.

My Inuit Heritage
CW: Slur mention, mentions of sexual assault
I knew that I mentioned before that I didn't want to talk about my personal life on here, but I thought this was worth talking about.
I believe that I'm Inuit. The Europeans in my life could categorize me as a dark-skin European, and that's fine. That's why even now I subconsciously live in the 2000's, because Europeans wanted to have tan skin because they saw it as aesthetically appealing. I don't know everyone's personal story as to why they wanted their pale skin to be darker.
Tumblr media
Anyways, when I was younger, my father put on Ice Age. I was honestly more fixated on the humans' storyline than the silly wacky animals to entertain the stupid people, but it was always cleverly balanced and I appreciated it.
I feel like I'm more of my father's child than my mother's child. I always had a meat-focused diet: fish, meat. I became inspired to try to become a vegan by learning about diets in asian countries like Japan. Chinese food was a constant in my life as well. I also liked to be comfortable and cozy so I'm obsessed with the clothes i see some inuits wear in Google images. I like Icelandic patterns. My father also liked to wear sweaters. I had a fixation of hot chocolate because our house was always cold but my father felt most comfortable with the temperature, he always drank tea.
Tumblr media
I don't mean to trigger anyone, but in my elementary school, there was a traditional Halloween costume parade around the block where every student would wear their costume proudly and all the parents would take pictures to remember their child with their friends representing or being whatever they'd like.
I got a light pink eskimo costume. I immediately felt comfortable and secure wearing it. The material was very soft and comfortable. I felt like everything was right and it clicked in my soul like a key. Even the boys called me cute for the costume. My entire life I wanted to be Japanese or Chinese, but remembering how I felt in that soft costume made me realize that there is a reality for me that's even better than maybe those two existences: being a proud Inuit.
I saw a article somewhere that tried to say that the word "eskimo" is considered a slur towards Inuit people. i believed it immediately because I was a bit younger than I am now. I was shocked because I heard the term "eskimo kisses" and my mother used to do them to me when I was younger. That was my favorite way of showing affection. My partner told me to not worry about it but I still internalized that belief, because I only identified as black at that time (mainly due to my appearance and the culture that surrounded me during those days) and I was disassociated from my awareness of me being a indigenous myself until my father told me.
He told me that he was Native American along with other things. When I met actual Native Americans, it was really hard to find or have any slight of connection, we both felt uncomfortable and distant, and even scared of each other.
I found myself having a gravity towards European things ever since I was a little girl. So that's probably why I lean towards the Nurture in the Nature vs. Nurture argument. I can write a whole paper on this sometime..
My art therapist was wearing a pattern that reminded me of Native American patterns. I inquired about it and she actually told me it was a Eastern European pattern. Another click. I can't really consider myself biracial because my skin tone is not exactly the palest and I represent three races. I always thought things would only resonate with you if there is something inside of you that is compatible with it, because there's tons of other cultures and aspects of it I have never and probably never will be in touch or witness. So yeah. I represent a lot of different cultures, but I'd hate for someone to make me feel insecure about it. I worked hard to feel secure and grounded about myself, and I am proud.
Maybe the bottom line is this. Black people who do not feel comfortable in the black community and find theirselves genuinely gravitating to White/European things should try identifying as Inuit. I felt immediately understood when I shared to my friends that I was a american Inuit. Everything made sense to me now. I don't want to disturb anyone who lives in the artic.
I feel like the term African-American was written to help people who came from African countries and were born there to have a identity and see it as a nationality. I was born in America and so were my two parents. None of us came from Africa, and this is my first generation family. I have been mistreated horribly ever since I even slightly considered interacting with individuals in said black community. My dad has forced me to fit in with these individuals and I almost died several times, both spiritually and physically. I was sexually assaulted several times, and other awful things I don't want to remember. I always felt safer in different communities even if my family considers my plight for comfort and safety as silly. So I'm trying to spread awareness of the inuit community.
Thank you for reading. I hope one day you too will find yourself

Why Lack of Control Is a Gift from God
Today's inspiration comes from:
The Hidden Peace
by Joel Muddamalle
Reach Out and Find Him
"'The apostle Paul gave us some assuring words to cling to when we feel like things are out of control. He spoke them when he was on Mars Hill, a place where philosophers and people would gather to ask deep questions. “What is the meaning of life?” someone might ask, or “Why is there evil in the world?” Each of those questions has an underlying root: an awareness of our inability to control everything we want to.
In Acts 17:24 Paul echoed what the prophet Nehemiah said. God made the world and everything in it, and he didn’t need any help! Then, Paul went on to make a life-changing, perspective-shifting statement:
From one man He has made every nationality to live over the whole earth and has determined their appointed times and the boundaries of where they live. — Acts 17:26
Okay, so sometimes I am guilty of reading the Bible way too fast. I want us to slow down and really take in what Paul was saying here.
“From one man He has made every nationality to live over the whole earth.” Who created the first humans? God did, and we know from Genesis 1:26 that He created them in His likeness and image. Here Paul explained more, saying that all of humankind, including every nationality and culture, finds its origin in God, and they live over all the earth because of God.
“[God] has determined their appointed times and the boundaries of where they live. ”We could be tempted to think that God created everything, then stepped back and left it to run its course. Paul refuted that idea, giving two aspects of God being in control. First, He determined our “appointed times” and, second, even the “boundaries” of our existence are determined by God.
Why is this so crucial in helping our fear of losing control? Because it reminds us that there is not an ounce of our human life that is random or by chance. Think of it this way: you and I could have lived in any point of human history, yet we live now. There is a purpose to why we live in this specific moment in history. We could be located in any geographical location, yet we live in the country, state, city, neighborhood, street we do for a reason! It’s not random. It’s not out of control. It is ordered and has a purpose.
So what’s that purpose? Paul said,
He did this so that they might seek God, and perhaps they might reach out and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us. — Acts 17:27
If we take a closer look at the original language Paul used here, we’ll see He actually acknowledged our loss of control. The phrase “they might reach out” translates the Greek verb psēlaphēseian, which can also mean “to look for something in uncertain fashion, to feel around for. ”1 The word is used elsewhere in the Bible as well as in ancient Greek literature to describe a person who is either blind or stuck in darkness and trying to find or “feel” their way out of their dark and desperate situation — a situation in which they are painfully aware of their need and their lack of control.2
When we confront the reality of our lack of control, it’s an opportunity. We can exchange our desire for control for the gift of humble faith.
Paul said that while we are in this situation, searching for escape, for some kind of guiding help, God is near to us. And as we reach out and seek Him, we will find Him and realize that He has actually never been far.
So, the situation we’re in is not good. Things are looking dire, and panic is settling in. But if we’ll stop and look up, we’ll find the security and peace of our God who assures us that we’ve never been alone. He’s been there the whole time, and He will continue to be with us.
It’s a humbling experience to be lost. But that newfound humility paves the way for immense gratitude and joy once we’re found. What if our lack of control — even when it leads to anxious nighttime thoughts, moments of panic, and desperate attempts to gain control — is actually a gracious gift of God? What if it sets us up to realize that the very belief that we can control things is really an illusion? As soon as we can identify it as an illusion, we are positioned in a posture of humility and recognize the one who is truly in control of all things. Then, we are straight shook when we look to our side and realize he’s been with us the whole time.
In Hebrews 11 we read,
By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was made from things that are not visible. — v. 3
God, in His might, did the unimaginable, creating the entire world we live in today. He is the one behind the strength and beauty we see all around us. He is also the one at work in every detail of our lives. And it’s by faith that we understand all this.
So when we confront the reality of our lack of control, it’s an opportunity. We can exchange our desire for control for the gift of humble faith. We can stop spinning our wheels. Stop wearing ourselves out with fruitless efforts and ratcheting up our inner tension. We can begin to experience a deep, settled peace in our souls by accepting the reality of our lack of control and embracing Jesus, who has perfect control.
As you lay awake at night, sleepless and restless, consider speaking some simple truths over yourself as a prayer.
Jesus, You are with me. Jesus, I can’t, but You can.
Jesus, You are my peace that brings calm.
Now, let’s take a breath. Think of His awesome power. And let ourselves just accept reality, that so much of life is not in our hands. And that’s okay; it’s in His."'

Location, Location, Location...
Tumblr media
On a certain corner of Twitter you will often see Tweets like these, where the merits of a city are discussed, most especially in relation to other cities. I always found these kinds of tweets off the mark, there are hardly any differences between even London and Shanghai, much less two American cities (this guy is also wrong about cafes). The whole thing reeks of narcissism and status signaling, as if people are hyping a place up to use the city itself as a fashion statement. After all, it hardly takes any effort to move to a place. Much easier to move to Bushwick and “drift through cafés at night” LARPing as a “bohemian” than to actually do the work of cultivating artistic knowledge or talent.
With the invention of the car and airplane, people have been free to move across the country at the drop of a hat. Much of the population of any given place consists of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation transplants from other areas—not to mention, immigrants from other countries. These transplants have over time, diluted and made extinct the varied regional cultures across the US. There is really no longer such a thing as a “Virginian” as there may have been in the 1800s—all local identities and cultures have long been subsumed into that of “American.” The printing press, radio, television, and internet have lead to even more extreme levels of homogenization. What you will find, whether in New York, Chicago, or San Francisco, is that people consume the same media and are subject to the same social pressures as those elsewhere across the country. As I’m sure you’re aware, most people are not really individuals, but status maximizing robots that mirror the tastes and views of high status people and institutions. As those tastes and views are the same no matter where you are, the general population consists of carbon copies of various archetypes with small variations between them and a very small handful of true individuals.
Global brands like Starbucks and McDonald’s have displaced older and more historical retail stores, leading to the same stores and brands in every city. Architecture too, consists of the same steel skyscraper abominations, with maybe, a smattering of a few decaying historical buildings. Even the layout of the city itself is shared between cities, with most being some variation of a grid pattern. Perhaps the only differentiating factor left is the geography of the location itself, such as rivers or mountains. Though really, what is the difference, from our perspective as a city dweller between the Thames and the Potomac? Any city with a river is interchangeable with any other that shares a river.
Although it pains me to say, because I loathe to reduce everything to just numbers, where you live really just boils down to a few key statistics such as average temperature/humidity, population size, cost of living, demographic makeup, crime rate, and available jobs. Some cities may have a quirk, like New York being big or San Jose being full of tech workers, but these are just quirks and do little to meaningfully differentiate the city beyond that one trait. The quality of life and people you meet are really going to be the same as any other place with similar statistics. Any real regional differences in areas have long since evaporated and only exist in the overactive imaginations of Twitter posters.
There is another aspect to the Tweet above that really bothered me, the “be a bohemian” comment. In the current year, the artist is little more than an identity to adopt for status signaling. Real artistic talent, and indeed even knowledge of the arts, has been, along with everything else, on a slow decline since the late 19th century. One does not “become a bohemian” by adopting the signs of a bohemian—drinking coffee in some trendy café in a trendy neighborhood does not make you a bohemian any more than putting on a space suit makes you an astronaut. It is actually impossible to be a bohemian, because the Bohemians, like the beatnik, hippie, hipster, and other related artistic movements are completely dead. You are just LARPing, adopting superficial aspects of some long gone group to craft a fake identity. If you want to channel the spirit of the bohemian, you must be something new entirely.
Fascination with cities or the hottest Brooklyn neighborhoods is a sure sign that you are not, in fact, channeling the spirit of the Bohemian and are instead just a narcissistic poser. This preoccupation with location and physical space is the old mindset of the old world. What distinguishes our age from that of other ages? What is new and exciting about our world? It is undoubtedly the invention of the internet, and so any real artistic movement is likely going to be location agnostic and internet focused. Yet, the internet too, is becoming old news and dying. Given the noted state of decline in just about everything, it’s entirely possible that in the end the internet spawns nothing of note. Still, I’m not holding my breath for “sock_dem” and others caught in this most ancient mindset.

i dont like polish culture that much
whats preserved from before christianity is mostly dziady and other pagan traditions and thats pretty cool, but its not prevalent, maybe even non-existent in the wild (although i hope it is somewhere) and the most common type of person trying to revive those traditions is one that doesnt put in enought effort, tending to make it come across as cultural appropriation, buying generic celtic merchandise and pentagram charms. still i think this is the best traditional aspect of polish/slavic culture, because it doesnt involve christianity.
another aspect of the culture comes from poverty and black out drinking. its not uniquely polish. its not backed by fine art or tradition. however the aesthetic of outdated appliances, commie blocks, risky and illegal behaviour has a mundane charm countering the general idea of what a person is supposed to want. i dont know if this is polish or even slavic culture, its all over the world and it simply comes from a lack of access to resources, leading to tinkering and diy solutions. i do appreciate every reckless driving or explosives video with polish curses. we have the longest commie block in the world afaik, its called falowiec. basically if you combine poverty and cold weather, you get most of the modern polish aesthetic that we like to use to compare ourselves with western europe. my description doesnt do it justice and is all over the place but yeah.
then theres the mediocre cultural aspect of the world wars, which we like to make about ourselves and idolise our suffering, while talking about the jewish side of things only like 30% of the time. but it is something that happened here i guess, everyones grandparents and great grandparents had their lives turned upside down during that time, having to move, change professions and becoming orphans at a high rate. this along with being a russian colony after the war made it so we dont have aristocracy anymore, even though we still had it at the start of the 20th century. the people whose families used to be wealthy before the wars are not as distinguishable as in other countries, which is a good thing. everything about the wars is constantly talked about and ALLLL our movies are about the 2nd war.
christianity is big in poland, we have so many churches and the remains of our pagan traditions are intertwined with christianity, and most peoples beliefs have christianity in them. we have alot of old people who go to church every sunday. we have alot of pretty historical churches as well as new churches that money is being wasted on. its inescapable. americans are right to complain about their problems with christianity but to me american culture is an atheist breath of fresh air. we hardly have culture outside of christianity. there are historical eras im not talking about in this post because im lumping them with christianity. although now that i think about it i should still mention *sarmatism* so you know we had a racism megalomania coloniser era, because its unfair to deny it, but the ideology behind it was still pretty much christianity, just with a fresh side of racism.
there are native polish people in various places, that have cool traditions (the north is known for embroidery and the mountain region for wood carving), but associating with those as someone not born into it is hardly appropriate, bordering on appropriation and should be limited to buying souvenirs
culture is not my area of expertise actually but idk i wanted to post about it for fun nevertheless to have motivation to think abt it. if this post ever gets more than 5 notes please know this is not a good summary and im only posting it bc i dont wanna clog up my drafts or delete it after writing all that text

The underlying religious conflicts
Clarification: You were probably appalled - and rightly so - by my mistake in the wording that made it sound like there was anger towards Islam in the original Bibles, written in earlier centuries. It was a mistake to extend the ancestral disputes to modern Islam, because the religion changed the course of history. I apologize.
Thank you to google for the improved help with translations. I work with the program through translating and re-translating so that we learn together to improve the accuracy of writing through the language barriers.
شكرًا لجوجل على المساعدة المحسّنة في الترجمات. أنا أعمل مع البرنامج من خلال الترجمة وإعادة الترجمة حتى نتعلم معًا لتحسين دقة الكتابة من خلال حواجز اللغة.
Most of our media in recent months has been glossing over the underlying religious conflicts in the conflicts perpetuated today.
From the perspective of an avid reader of The Bibles, I offer this:
"God" and "Lord" usually refer to human leaders in these books, but science has left many questions of power and magic in the Bibles wide-open to interpretation and imagination. There is tremendous conflation between the generations of leaders in the Bible. There is much that encourages good behavior, in powerful words, in these books, so I value them highly. There is much that promotes conflict and prejudice too, so they must be read with the grain of salt of any attempt at history. Without the same amount of study time in my life devoted to reading the Quran, I hesitate to make wide-arcing statements about it, but I wonder if the people of Islam have found similar patterns in their literature? In my recent readings, I see much anger in both sets of literature toward one another, and tremendous variation in what "the people of Israel" means at different times in both tomes. The cultural traditions passed down by religion keep us reminded and attached to the depth and meaning of history and life n ways that no other literature does, We need that sorely when political solutions sink into despondency and rhetoric, but we are still reading works charged by the violence and struggles of our ancestors, whose lives and communication systems and tribulations are vastly different from our own. Can we as a society--all the people of Earth--acknowledge that we do not understand our ancestors all that well, that they move us and their stories change us, but that we have determined most people in most other cultures to be good and moral beings who have learned a rather different set of historical trends and tendencies than us? Can we step back and realize that Darwin described important aspects of evolution but sent us down a path of further conflict by emphasizing intense competition and overlooking the fundamentals of cooperation in a social species? Please, please, remember how many of the "facts" we were taught as youths look entirely different with time and reassessment. What stands is that people all over Earth eagerly seek peace and reconciliation.
Thank you, each and every person giving time and patience to a better existence for all.

Final Thoughts
This digital literacy narrative has helped me understand the road that lay behind me and at my feet. In considering these memories and the way they inform my identity, I can also consider how they inform my practice as a writing mentor with the specific goal of helping others embrace themselves and the extension of self that comes through in their writing. No student should feel excluded from self-expression, and I want my practice to reflect that.
I think that my practice operates on these three central themes:
First, I think my literacy with reading and writing as a child, wherein I found my safest space in exploring my thoughts about a book with a mentor figure, has led to me holding the integrity of my peers' trust as they share their ideas in high regard. I believe that in every one of us there exists an entire inner world made up of fascinating perspectives about the world around us. As a child, I didn't feel safe sharing my views until it was made okay by the help of written expression, egged on by a mentor. So, in my own work as a writing mentor, I want to help make writing a place where my peers can be made to feel as safe as I felt in those early days, when I could write about the way I felt about my favorite works without fear of being judged. In committing to this, I aim to facilitate open communication rather than shutting down others' opinions or voices.
Second, my literacy with culture and the various ways it impacts those within it guides my interactions with peers by helping me consider all the many ways we can feel supported or rejected by the greater culture we occupy. Knowing how difficult it was for me to feel like I could navigate a world seemingly not made for me and considering the way those in similar situations might feel, my approach at mentorship seeks to be all-inclusive to people from every walk of life. Rather than seek to perpetuate an attitude of difference, I want to help maintain conversations that are conducive to self-reflection and acceptance for people who may feel the same "otherness" I once did.
Finally, as I continue to develop my health literacy, I want to take my practice in a direction that helps others consider their own thinking and how they can help themselves reach brand new heights. While sobriety and the forms of literacy tied to it is still one I am currently learning, it has afforded me great insight into the way I think about myself and the daily habits and personal obstacles I live with. If the literacy I developed from this phase of my life is showing me anything, it's that there are always new ways of approaching a situation, even if it once seemed unchangeable. In providing a judgement-free space where any person who might be struggling to achieve inner peace or a sense of self they are comfortable with, I hope to utilize what I've learned about offering grace to myself and offer that same grace to my peers.
But what does this all mean? I think that my reflections above have ultimately led me to see that I am a person, tutor, and mentor that encourages healing in others because I see what healing work has done for me. While it took me some time to get to where I am now, working through those aspects of my childhood and high school years in order to stay sober today, I feel more attuned to the kind of person I aspire to be: someone capable of facilitating the kind of conversations that invite deeper introspection into the motivations behind our actions, thought processes, and beliefs. If, in the process, I touch on or inspire something profound with those I tutor, then I'll feel as though I'm achieving what I hope for my tutorials.
Finally, recall what Jessica Dore says of the Tarot, dearest reader. I hope that in asking the right questions to those I mentor, a "passageway to new life" and thinking can be opened for them.

okay as much as i would Love to answer your whole post in detail and address the whole thing i can’t put a read more in my ask so i’m gonna limit it some 😭 would dms be more efficient? yes. am i writing this ask anyway? also yes.
and yeah i meant the Whole cb WHAT ARE THEY FEEDING THEM?? HOW LONG DID SUNGHOON HIT THE GYM FOR?? I DIDNT KNOW JAY’S VOICE COULD D O THE THINGS ITS DOING RN. NIKI IS OUT HERE LIVING HIS BEST ANGSTY TEEN LIFE.
“he’s selectively deaf” JDKSJDEB. no but fr i really do see jaan as a rigid, stubborn type, a stickler for rules when he’s the one making them but an absolute loose cannon whenever given an order. thankfully his “i do what i want” attitude doesn’t cause Massive problems bc he has a sense of responsibility and at least one braincell. jino, on the other hand… we’re just glad he’s cheerful and not particularly rebellious
CRAZY CAT VAMPIRES!! going back to noa with cat-like tendencies i imagine him padding around with a cat held in one arm “as a buddy” and everyone like “how has that thing not cleared you to death.” no but the guys having these old people tendencies is so funny to me it’s like a steve rogers situation where every once in a while it hits that “oh . oh right you may look like me but you’re Old” just heli smiling contentedly whenever he understands a pop culture reference or jaan crocheting (which is an even Better image now that i talked abt him up there) or jino learning to out-bake anyone’s grandmother (of course, being able to use his body as an oven helps)
no yeah . yeah sooha wanting to show them how to enjoy life as teenagers and then having to realize she couldn’t have a normal fun teenage life either and all of them working through it together and now i’m crying
i appreciate the chart and stuff bc there’s just So many ways to interpret vampirism and lycanthropy- disease, hereditary, extreme states of being (life or death), and each of them have so many implications and it’s fun to explore!! i wish we knew more abt solon and the guys’ origin UGH
- vrvr anon
man i always forget the limitations of this form of communication <///3 HSJFBVJV im just thankful tumblr apparently got rid of that word/character limit that they had on their asks for a while at least im assuming they did. that would have made our entire thing far less convenient
NO YEAH THE COMEBACK. HA. WOW. jay's voice DEFINITELY does a thing at the beginning of future perfect and i do NOT know how to feel about it. hybe needs to close the gyms fr because how much more ripped is sunghoon gonna GET. and yes u go riki get in your angsty edgy teen phase!!
jaan gives me chaotic lawful energy honestly—he's made his own set of rules and he sticks to them to the letter, but anyone ELSE'S rules? its fair game. jaan and jino both have the potential to be absolutely insane loose cannons (and sometimes ARE if the situation calls for it) but theyre stopped from being complete harbingers of chaos by the fact that jaan is actually oretty rigid and responsible (in his own strange way) and jino is happy-go-lucky cheerful instead of aggressively rebellious. if those two aspects of their personalities did not exist the world would be screwed.
NOA CARRYING A CAT AROUND "AS A BUDDY" PLS I CANT. THATS TOO SWEET. and maybe because hes tall af he can carry several more cats than his brothers and hes always just like (while holding six cats) "its the benefit of having long arms"
ive never watched a marvel movie of my own volition but i got weirdly involved in the fandom for some reason a couple years ago and because of that i Know Some Stuff. so now im thinking about heli being the ULTIMATE out-of-touch grandpa of the brothers, because hes the one out of all of them thats the most focused on protecting them and making sure they stay hidden, so hes never taken the TIME to get involved with the pop-culture of the time. and then when he actually starts to slow down a little and give himself time to LIVE instead of survive (thanks to sooha), and he starts looking into pop-culture more, he gets ABSURDLY PROUD anytime someone (like shion, because you KNOW shion would be the brother thats absurdly invested in everything pop-culture just because he thinks these modern humans are very entertaining) makes a reference to a meme or movie or something and he actually gets it! so like you said hes just sitting or standing there with this big old content grin on his face and he goes "i understood that reference!" and sooha or jino pat him on the shoulder like "yes u did good job heli" LMAO
"oh . oh right you may look like me but youre Old." KSGFJFBFJ EXACTLY and this could be said by either sooha (who even though she WAS born at the same time as them in our au, was conscious for significantly less of it) or OTHER students, in a hypothetical world where the brothers get less terrified for their lives, sooha makes more friends, and heli admits it wouldnt hurt to have a FEW more harmless teenagers in on the secret as long as they're harmless teenagers sooha trusts. which also brings to mind a situation in which jino befriends sooha's friends, and he's nice to them and likes them and everything because he's jino, but then said friends introduce jino to their grandparents and its all off the wall from there. sooha's human friend just stares at jino happily baking cookies and gossiping with their grandma like "why are you better friends with my grandma than you are with me"
i dont have much more to say about sooha and the boys experiencing normal life as teenagers together so im just gonna agree that yeah i am also crying. a lot. i am crying a lot. although in the hypothetical world where more humans get let in on the secret, the guys and sooha would actually have some Normal Teenagers to teach them how Normal Teenager Life is lived—at which point they could all be like "huh. actually we like the weird way we were doing it, but thanks!"
im glad the chart and everything was appreciated!! yeah theres so many different possible interpretations and i HAVE so many thoughts about those different possible interpretations. and many different possible interpretations of my own as you saw HSJFBFJB. its just!!! theyre both so COOL conceptually and theres so much that can be done with them!!! i also wish we knew more abt the guys' origins because so far all we know in canon is "woke up in an orphanage with no prior memories, already possessing both vampirism and magical powers. created somehow???" which. is NOT a lot. pls hybe
and hey look at that! i managed to answer this the same day it came into my inbox! and i only saved it to my drafts ONCE! yay me
