I’m a big fan of the trope in media where someone who was taught to hate a group of people winds up falling in love with someone from that group, because like they were taught hatred but they chose love 🥺

Writing Tag Game
I was tagged by @noire-pandora @midnightprelude @mogwaei @serial-chillr @faerieavalon @pinkfadespirit @inquisitoracorn and @in-arlathan thank you so much! :)
How many works do you have on Ao3?
On my main Ao3 blog: 23! I also have a second blog where I post works set in the Dragon Age-inspired Modern AU I've been writing with @oftachancer , featuring my OC Tristan Trevelyan and her OC Aran Trevelyan, as well as a few others of our OCs. There are 5 works there at the moment. You can check them out here: jo_writes
What's your total Ao3 wordcount?
On my main blog, 516,722 words. On my second blog, 193,953 words, but the majority of it is co-written with @oftachancer .
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
High-Flying Birds: 589 kudos (TSOA)
Where Blood Roses Bloom: 467 kudos (Castlevania)
Winter's Fruit: 424 kudos (TSOA)
Like Friends Do: 410 kudos (TSOA)
Memories and Echoes: 327 kudos (TSOA)
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Always!! I don't think there's a single comment I've ever received that I've left unanswered. I just love talking with my readers and screeching in my replies. I often wonder whether I come across as a tiny bit insane or overly enthusiastic, but you know what? I am both, so who cares 😂 I just appreciate every single person that has taken the time to read and comment on my works, and I want to make sure they know JUST HOW MUCH
What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?
I honestly don't think that many of my stories have an angsty ending? Most of them end on a hopeful or at least bittersweet note, I think. I'm pretty sure the only ones I've written that have sad endings were those in my Hector/Carmilla series, You Always Hurt The Ones You Love (CV) which were kind of dark and depressing anyway.
Playground Love, the fic I've written with @oftachancer featuring our OCs Tristan and Aran ends on an angsty note, but things do get better in the next installment, Never Let Me Go, so I suppose I am a little allergic to angsty endings XD
What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?
The Stars Will Guide Us Home (TSOA, Modern AU) has a super soft and fluffy ending, and Fall Into Your Tide (TSOA, Merman AU) will have a happy ending too.
Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you've written?
I've written a Witcher/Dragon Age crossover, Viper In Tall Grass, where Tristan is a witcher and Dorian a Nilfgardian mage which I thoroughly enjoyed! Also, one of the first long fics I ever finished was a Witcher/Wheel of Time crossover, which I think is genuinely the most... imaginative thing I've written 😂 I never posted it and don't think I will, but I still love it to bits and I'm super proud of myself for writing it.
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Kind of? It wasn't directed at me personally (I don't think) but at one of the main characters of the fic. Perhaps it was referring to the way I'd written the particular character, I truly can't say, it was a little vague. It takes a lot to offend me, but this really rubbed me the wrong way. I honestly think I would have been less offended if the person had criticised my writing rather than the character lol. I just don't take any shit when it comes to the characters I love. They're PERFECT, okay? How dare you come into my house and badmouth them 😂 RUDE
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Hell YEAH! I love writing smut, it's great. As to what kind, I think that porn with feelings describes it really well. The smut I write tends to get emotional real quick, even when I intended for it to be straight up porn, so I guess there's no hope for me, hah.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes, High-Flying Birds has been translated into Vietnamese.
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes!! With oftachancer, two novel-length fics (Playground Love and Never Let Me Go), as well as a few other WIPs that haven't been posted yet, and I'm currently working on a multi-chap fic with my friendo @in-arlathan , featuring Dorian/Tristan and Solas with her Elenara Lavellan, which I'm so excited about! I've also brainstormed and goblined-out over a couple projects with @mogwaei !!  I love co-writing, it's so fun :)
What's your all time favourite ship?
Oooh, that's a tough one. I'm super biased in that the ships I love are those I write (both canon and OC pairings) but if you held a gun to my head and asked me to choose I would probably have to say... Dorian/Tristan and Achilles/Patroclus? AAH this is too hard ;w;
What's a WIP you want to finish but don't think you ever will?
I do plan on finishing all of the WIPs I am currently working on. I have a lot of writing ideas that I don't think I'll ever get around to, but when I actually start writing something I tend to commit till the end.
What are your writing strengths?
Descriptions, introspection and angsty/emotional scenes I think are my favourite things to write. I also enjoy writing fight scenes a little too much (and judging by the feedback I receive on them people seem to enjoy them too, heh). Lastly, I've been told that the characters I write are complex and fleshed out and that my pacing is good, and that's honestly the best praise for me.
What are you writing weaknesses?
I struggle quite a lot with self doubt and perfectionism. I worry a lot about how my work will be perceived and whether it's good enough. I often agonise over small details or paragraphs/sentences, to the point where I sometimes post just so I stop myself from going back and editing indefinitely. I have thousands upon thousands of words in deleted scenes because "they weren't quite right" or I changed a tiny bit and the rest didn't fit. So. You get the idea 😅 (Now, how I manage to read through everything multiple times before posting yet still get typos... welp)
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
Hmm, I have to say that I do like it when there are foreign words interspersed through the narrative if the story isn't set in an English speaking world or if the characters speak a different language, but I'm not a huuuge fan of seeing a big chunk of dialogue in a foreign language without immediate translation or a hovering text. It kind of breaks the immersion for me and I tend to avoid it generally in my own writing.
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Dragon Age, and specifically DAI! That game never gets old for me.
What's your favourite fic you've written?
It's impossible for me to pick just one so I'm going to cheat and choose a few. I absolutely love my current WIPs: High-Flying Birds, Where Blood Roses Bloom and A World With You, and the freaking epic-length fics I've written with @oftachancer . They haven't always been easy to write (especially AWWY, which has the most intricate plot & character development) but I'm so proud of them and I've learned so much while writing them. Of my finished stories, The Stars Will Guide Us Home is hands down one of my all time faves. It had been on my mind for several months before I actually wrote it, and I poured so much of my heart into it. I still get emotional when I go back to reread it, not gonna lie! Lastly, At The Water's Edge (TSOA) is very dear to me and I often go back for rereads.
I'm tagging forth to (no pressure!): @fancytrinkets @elveny @glimmerofgold @asiriushoe @juliafied @boshtet-juggler @schattengerissen @dafan7711 @tessa1972 @fandomn00blr @pikapeppa and anyone else who would like to join!

mephistopheles love post
the equivalent of a mental breakdown tangent is all going under a read more
yes believe it or not that freaky ass literally not even human clown in fgo gets love, and love from who? me and like 3 other people
first off
Tumblr media
ok and with that out of the way,
Tumblr media
i’m not even familiar with their lore. Reason why i stopped caring about the lore behind faust and mephistopheles is that an interlude happens that shows that mephistopheles is just some homunculi made by some mage nobody named faust. and even then the interlude doesn’t talk about the lore behind the novel, its just you helping mephy kill faust
that being said though i would hope the developers expand on their origins more and potentially even release a “true” mephistopheles (a girl can dream)
So, they’re not even the real deal demon known as Mephistopheles in the first place, and i can hear u going “well that’s lame” and like, no, we just need to redirect our feelings from appreciating a demon to appreciating a homunculi who has a weird characterization in the fate universe
Tumblr media
Design tangent:
Fgo was actually my first gacha, and so when I came across this servant I kinda instantly fell in love with their design, I love the colors used in their final ascension and overall appearance. The hat that has horns but they're not quite horns, theyre these weird colorful pointy twisty things, the large garish butterfly ornament on their chest (which isnt ugly at all and somehow works so well with their everything on them) is cool, the tights are so cool to look at, i mean look -- a checkered pattern with golden lining on the shorts portion, the tits out look like yes we get it youre insane, the gloves??? purple and also cool, plus theyve got this gradient thing going on? and the fingers have this line going through them, thats so cool. actually the only other servant that comes close to this in terms of “out there” colorful designs is probably final ascension kama and qsh ( i love them both). Also, mephy has this scissor weapon?? thats so cool lol i dont see any other servant wielding giant scissors (for the love of god give mephy an animation update i need to see them use the scissors while doing flips) and they also have this bomb obsession going on? cant relate, but the bombs designs are so so cool i mean its a fucking centipede -- no idea if centipedes are a thing in the original faust but thats something Ill have to look up at some point. ALSO mephy is wearing heels oh my god anytime people wear heels is an automatic win. No clue whats going on with the hair but its kinda cute (dont question me on that) and it has curls and the hair colors are cool i mean its like a lavender thing with darker purple highlights? i love colorful things and i love people with wacky personalities so. Oh my god their tail how could i forget that its so cute and dumb i almost forgot it was there, like what is that even a whip? i dont.. but its got these little purple tips to them that are kinda cute/cool but more cool because tails are fucking up there alongside heels in terms of cool stuff on characters. and of course their fluffly cape -- again no idea what the designers were going for i mean look its a mess of a design i have no fucking idea what any of it means and i hope they explain it someday because that hair and the butterfly and the tail and the hat and the fluffy garb and a bomb obsession?? and this got the go ahead - yeah lets add that to the game like what
ALSO LETS TALK ABOUT THEIR EYES
appreciate these with me for a second
Tumblr media
god.
oh and the blue lipstick and face paint god thats a cool design ugh
Tumblr media
they can be normal too or at least as normal as possible i mean they even trimmed their eyebrow here lol but you can see the not so well hidden insanity/goofiness peaking through with the inside of the suit at the bottom being highlighter purple and a green shirt with gold accents underneath the black coat at the front <3, fuckin hate that hairstyle tho bro we gotta get that middle part hairstyle outta hereeeee--
TAKE A DETOUR AND LOOK AT THIS LINK THOUGH THIS IS THE MOST NORMAL AND BEST IVE SEEN THEM IN FANART. THE POTENTIAL IS THERE. WE CAN HAVE NICE THINGS AND THEY LOOK GREAT ITS POSSIBLE. I HAVE TEARS STREAMING DOWN MY FACE FROM THAT DRAWING.
anyways this is me going off all about why i like their design! but we haven’t even touched the nitty gritty of it all. their personality! what personality you may ask? havent they always been some weirdo laughing a lot and saying dumb shit all the time? well yes and no
Characterization:
True to their dumb little clown design mephy also acts like one.
Tumblr media
Some servants bond 1 lines are like “fuck off” and some actually talk to you, nah this bastard mephistopheles’ just laughing. and for the second bond line it seems to imply theyre fuckin with you more (showing up and dissapearing and saying ‘afterimage’) so thats nice that theyre actually making some effort to mess with you in a way? some servants take a long time to actually interact with you so this shows theyre not afraid of interacting with you and thats just at bond 2. and of course the third bond line implies they were probably trying to betray you, its stated in more than 1 place that mephistopheles (actually isnt this a caster class thing?) will betray you or attempt to do so. So the third bond line seems to imply that their attempts have been stopped by you and that’s what they say after some failed attempts. So after stopping this freak from doing some shit their next bond line is actually doing a confession! a jester being honest who couldve seen that one coming but theyre 100% not lying, they really arent a demon but a homunculi made by faust
speaking of faust we’re going to backtrack a little into their interlude that i brought up at the start of this post, its one of those dream interludes and it starts with mephy asking you to help him plant bombs for their eventual reuinion/showdown with faust -- in the meantime faust keeps sending golems in an attempt to kill both you and mephy
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When you track faust down, it’s shown that faust was your typical mage, inhumane and uncaring. It’s also pointed out that this faust killed innocents, but this typical mage behavior is boring to mephy, and they say that boring typical behavior is why they wanted to kill them
Tumblr media Tumblr media
so i really cant blame mephistopheles for being the way they are, being raised by this type of guy, even if mephy was always messed up and wacky from the beginning its no reason for faust to attempt to kill him.
Mephistopheles also shows up in salem, cu alter’s interlude, and of course the knk crossover event, and some other things im most likely forgetting but those 3 are ones that i find notable
anytime they show up theyre actually helpful, in salem mephy points out that the nature of the being responsible for the salem epic of remnant is something alien rather than a typical foreign god, mephy also tells you that time is also being sped up and in their weird way they try to cheer you up by spouting some nonsense at the beginning (guda needed some kind of distraction from the grim events that had just transpired at that point in the story), i cant quite remember what mephy did in the knk event but they were a part of your group and were helpful the whole time, actually @/zeravmeta does an amazing analysis of their role in the knk event as well as some extra character analysis here
mephistopheles is kinda cryptic in a weird way though,
like overall i mean theyre a jester homunculi in appearance so yeah its to be expected but come on i love morally gray characters, despite their supposed betrayal hints scattered around here and there
Tumblr media Tumblr media
they have this one line that always gets to me
Tumblr media
and this line is said with a completely serious face too
Tumblr media
the rare serious mephistopheles face! its kinda grim to see that line, no laughs, no nothing, their voice is kinda serious and monotone too. of course this could be just to get you to lower your guard but its still kinda out there that they have this rarely used portrait and that line, so i like to take it as being said to you when youre by yourself and with sincerity
Tumblr media
and at least sei (with her wacky outfit and all lol) seems to get along with mephy and thinks theyre nice woohoo
so at the end of the day you have this guy that laughs a lot and gives mixed signals
Tumblr media
and they fuck with you
Tumblr media
and will most likely try to kill you more than once but hey thats just another tuesday at chaldea
Before I finish last thing I want to point out is this snippet from the fgo source material book which provides more information on servants, and this specific translated bit under mephistopheles
Tumblr media
at the core of it all this homunculi....can be your friend! you just need to not go into despair i guess
of course this entire post is an overanalysis into an underwritten character, quarantine + all online college classes have done this to me, i have a douman icon what did you expect
OH...BEFORE I REALLY SIGN OFF AND FINISH THE POST HEY CLOWN LOVERS CHECK OUT THESE FANARTS AND FANARTISTS...
THE FIRST ONE IS HASENDOW YES THE DOUMAN DESIGNER... <3
i cant believe they drew mephy
twice !
and for those of you on twitter check out @cuz_pb and @L0VEYAMA003

I already squeed quite a bit on Twitter, but turns out my Shadow and Bone thoughts demand longform. So that was a 40+ tweet thread or using my Tumblr for an original post for once.
I was wary about the Shadow and Bone adaptation the way I'm usually wary about good books being adapted onscreen. It was amplified because my actual favourites are the Six of Crows books, and because the American-based movie complex has a bad track record of doing anything based on Eastern Europe. 8 episodes in 3 days should tell you how much I loved it - the moment I finished, I wanted more.
First, the technical praise:
Damn but the plotting is tight. It took me a while to realised it's based on heist movie bones, where every little thing (The Freaking Bullet!) is important. The story fulfills its promises and manages not to bore at the same time - it delights by the way they're fulfilled. I called out a few plot developments moments before they happened, and I was happy about it. Such a joy after so many series where "not doing what viewers expect" led to plot holes and lack of sense. It might be an upside to the streaming model after all.
From a dramatic point of view I can tell all the reasons for all the changes, especially providing additional outsider points of view on Ravka (Crows) and letting viewers see Mal for themselves the way he only comes across in later books.
Speaking of which, this is a masterclass in rewriting a story draft. SaB was Bardugo's first, and having read later books you can really see where she didn't quite dare to break the YA rules yet, especially Single POV that necessitated a tight focus on Alina's often negative feelings rather than the big picture and a triangle that felt a bit forced. The world in the series is so much bigger, the way Bardugo could finally paint it when SaB success gave her more creative freedom, and some structural choices feel familiar too. It's a combination of various choices by crew and cast, but the end result meshes together so tightly and naturally.
Visuals! Especially the war parts because Every Soviet Movie Ever, but also the clothes (I would kill for Nina's blouse in the bar), the jewelry, the interiors. The stag was so very beautiful. And a deep commitment to a coherent aesthetic for each character and setting.
Look, you can do a serious fantasy series with colours! Both skin colours and bright sets and clothing! And all scenes were well lit enough to know what's going on, even in the Fold!
Representation (aka I Am Emotion)
To start with: I was born behind the Iron Curtain, in the last years of the Cold War. The Curtain was always permeable to some extent, and we have always been aware that while we have talented artists of our own, we never had the budgets and polish of the Anglosphere Entertainment Machine. So we watched a hell of a lot of American visual storytelling especially because yeah, you can tell we don't have the budgets. 90s and 2000s especially, it's getting better now.
In American stories, the BEST case scenario for Eastern European representation is the Big Dumb Pole, the ethnic stereotype Americans don't even notice they use, where the punchline is that his English is bad or that he grew up outside Anglo culture. Other than that, it's criminals, beggars, sex trafficking victims, refugees. Sure, we may look similar (except we really really don't, not if you're raised here and see the distinct lack of all those long-jawed Anglo faces), but we are not and have never been the West, never mind America. It's probably better for younger people now, but I was raised under rationing and passport bans. Star Trek and Beverly Hills 90210 were exactly as foreign to me.
The first ever character I really identified with was Susan Ivanova in Babylon 5 (written by J. Michael Straczynski, yay behind-camera representation). This was a Russian Jewish woman very much in charge, in the way of strong women I know so well, not taking any bullshit, not repressing her feminity. I recognised her bones, she could be my cousin. The sheer relief of it. There have been few such occasions since.
The reason I picked up Shadow and Bone in the first place was recommendations from other Polish people. I've had no problems finding representation in Eastern European books because wow our scene is strong in SFF especially, but it's always a treat to find a book in English that gets it. And Leigh gets it, the bones of our culture, and I could even look past the grammar issue (dear gods and Americans, Starkova for a woman, Morozov for a guy) that really irked me because of the love for the setting and the characters, the weaving in of religion/mysticism (we never laicisized the same way as the West, natch), the understanding of how deep are the scars left in a nation at war for centuries. The books are precious to me, they and Arden's Winternight and Novik's Spinning Silver.
To sum up: Shadow and Bone the Netflix series gets it. You can tell just how much they've immersed themselves in Eastern European culture and media, it comes across so well in visuals and writing and characters. Not just the obvious bits (though the WWII propaganda posters gave me a giggle), but the palaces, the additional plotlines and characters, the costumes, the attitudes. About the only thing missing in the soldier scenes was someone singing and/or quoting poetry.
I will blame the Apparat's lack of beard on filming in a non-Orthodox country. Poland's Catholic too, but I very much imagined him as an Orthodox patriarch, possibly because I read the books shortly after a visit to Pecherska Lavra in Kiev and the labyrinthine holy catacombs there. Small quibble, not my religion, not my place to speak.
(I've seen discussion on the issues with biracial representation in the show, which is visceral and apparently based on bad experiences of one of the show writers in a way that's caused pain to other Asian and biracial people. I'm not qualified to speak on those parts, other that Eastern Europe is... yeah. Racist in subtly different ways. If anything, the treatment of the Suli as explained in Six of Crows always read so very true of the way Roma are treated, and even sanitised.)
And now for the spoiler-filled bits:
Kaz and Inej. I mean... just THEM. So many props to the actors, the writers, the bloody goat.
I adore the fact the only people who get to have sex in the show are Jesper and a very lucky stablehand.
Ben Barnes needs either an award or a kick. The man's acting choices and puppy eyes are as epic as his hair.
So Much Love for Alina initiating the kiss. Her book characterisation makes sense, she's so trapped in her own head because she has no time to process everything that's happening, but grabbing life by the lapels is a much more active choice. Still not making the relationship equal, but closer to it.
Speaking of, Kaz's constant awareness of how unequal his relationship with Inej is, and attempts to give her agency. I'm really curious how his touch issues come across to someone who doesn't know the backstory there.
Feodor and his actor. He looks exactly like the pre-war heartthrob Adolf Dymsza, a specific upper-class Polish ethnic type that's much rarer now that, well, Nazis killed millions of Polish intellectuals in their attempt to reduce us to unskilled labour only. The faces he makes are the Best.
Nina!! Nina is perfect, those cheekbones, that cheek, I was giggling myself silly half the time. I cannot wait to see Danielle Galligan take on the challenge of Nina's plotline in Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom, she'll kill us dead.
I already mentioned that the writers fixed Mal's absence from the first book, but Mal in general! The haircut gives him a kind of rugby charm, and Archie Renaux is outstanding at emoting without talking. Honestly, all the casting in this series is inspired, but him in particular.
Extra bonus: Howard Charles and Luke Pasqualino playing so very much against the type of the swaggering Musketeers I saw them play last. Arken dropping the mask at the end... Howard Charles is love.
I can't believe not only was Milo's bullet a plot point, but the fact Alina was wearing a particularly sparkly hair ornament in a long series of beautiful hair ornaments was a plot point.
In conclusion: so much love, and next three season NOW please. Okay, give me a week to reread the books, and an extra day because new Murderbot drops tomorrow...

Note
Hello, hello! This week, we are going on a little:
Home Tour!
Notes: Answer the following with pictures (dialogue from your characters is optional!). Collages are highly encouraged if you want to answer a question with multiple pictures because tumblr mobile only allows 10 total pics. Otherwise, tumblr on a desktop lets you add multiple pictures (non-beta)!
For both:
What does the outside of the home look like? (Front/back yard, garden, pool, etc)
Living room and home office (if any)?
Kitchen and dining room?
Bedrooms? (Master, guest, others)
Other rooms?
Do you own your dream home? If not, what does that dream home look like?
What is your favorite room to spend time in with each other?
Masterlist
~~*~~*~~*~~*~~
Ethan: Why does this feel like we're doing MTV Cribs?
Casey: What's that?
Ethan: You have to be kidding me... every kid and teenager on the nation watched that show in the late 90's.
Casey: Ethan... you do remember that I'm 10 years younger than you, don't you? Also, I can't imagine you as the type of teenager who would watch MTV.
Ethan: I didn't watch it... my girlfriend did.
*The doorbell rings*
Casey: That explains a lot... Bree is here!
Tumblr media
Casey: Hey, Bree! Welcome to our home!
Bree: Hey guys... wow, this home is impressive! Can you tell me more about it?
Ethan: We got this place shortly before getting married. We agreed that we wanted to have a new beginning at a new place, so we moved in here right after the wedding.
Casey: We got this two-story duplex because it had everything we were looking for: plenty of space with a beautiful view, a nice kitchen, and enough rooms for his dad and my brother to stay here with us when they come to visit.
Ethan: It's also close to Edenbrook, which is important for us if there is an emergency and we are needed at the hospital.
Casey: And even though this wasn't something that we were looking for, there are three outside areas that are exclusive to us and that we fell in love with: a terrace that I´ve been in charge of renewing because it was a mess, a secluded patio and the rooftop and its pool, which is Ethan's favorite place.
Ethan: Swimming after a long day of work helps me clear my mind. The fact that the pool also has a view of Boston Common makes this place very impressive, too.
Casey: True... most of the time I go to the pool with him, but I can't swim, it freaks me out, so he's definitely the one who makes the most of it.
Ethan: I've tried to teach you...
Casey: And we always get distracted... you should stick to teaching medicine, Dr. Ramsey *smirks*
Tumblr media
Casey: Then we have the living room. It is so big that decorating it was a nightmare... but we love the result. By the way, have you seen the paintings? Both were a gift from Evelyn, our patient in the diagnostics team.
Ethan: We don't use it a lot when it's only the two of us here, but it is the area we use the most when friends and family come to visit.
Bree: I can imagine a lot of people in this place and still having room for plenty more...
Casey: Me too! It's so sad that we weren't allowed to have a housewarming party here.
Ethan: If it's anything like the party you had during your intern year, maybe it's for the best...
Casey: Hey! How do you know about it? You literally *imitating Ethan* "had to decline my inivtation"...
Ethan: Is that you imitating me? I love you, but that was awful... of course I knew it because I could hear every nurse talking about it the next day... how did you manage to have all those people there?
Casey: I have no idea... but it was epic...
Tumblr media
Ethan: One of the areas where we paid especial attention while looking for a home was the kitchen. We both enjoy cooking together, so we needed it to be comfortable enough for both of us. The fact that the dining room is right next to it is very practical, too.
Casey: And he was very specific about something...
Ethan: You're going to tease me forever with that...
Bree: I remember Casey telling that Ethan can't make pancakes...
Ethan: This is embarrassing... and pointless... *rolls his eyes*
Casey: This gorgeous man who happens to be my husband, had a dishwasher that he used even before I moved in to his old place... only because he hates doing the dishes...
*Bree and Casey laugh in unison*
Casey: Trust me, the water bill has dropped a lot since I moved in with you...
Ethan: I wouldn't be so sure... we don't use it in the dishwasher, but we take long showers...
Casey: Ethan! *begins to blush*
Ethan: I think I've just won this round, sweetheart *smirks*
Tumblr media
Casey: This is the area of the house where we spend most of our time... because... uh... *blushes furiously*
Ethan: It's funny to see you blushing... I'm sure that Bree knows exactly what married couples do in a bedroom... *smirks*
Bree: Of course I do... you sleep... a lot... after those exhausting shifts, that's exactly what I'd do... *smiles*
Casey: We enjoy the view, too... anyway, the bedroom has three areas... there is of course, the area where we... sleep... then there is our bathroom where we take long showers... *winks at Ethan*
Ethan: ...and then there is what I call "Casey's chaos area"... or the closet. And it's only fair to say that yeah, I may hate doing the dishes, but she's the worst when having to fold her clothes... so Bree, don't even try to open her closet's door...
Bree: Okay, I won't *chuckles*
Casey: Lucky me for having a husband who offers as tribute to fold my clothes
Ethan: As lucky as I am for having a wife who volunteers to do the dishes...
*They stare at each other for a long, long time... Bree wonders if they forgot that she is right there with them*
Tumblr media
Ethan: One of the things we agreed we wouldn't have when we were looking for a place was a home office, because we didn't want to bring the work home.
Casey: So we decided to make a change and we turned the office into a small living room for us to read, to watch TV... basically, a place to get cozy. And yeah, it became my favorite room in the house.
Ethan: Of course, the original plan of not having a home office failed. So we ended up building a small office, very secluded, that we avoid like the plague. We only use it as a very last resource.
Bree: Guys, I love the amount of books you have... they're almost in every single room of the house!
Ethan: Trust me, we didn't realize how many books we had until we moved to this place.
Casey: We don't watch much TV, but we both are heavy readers. Of course, the medical books are a must.
Ethan: And we finally have two guest rooms. They both look exactly the same, and one of them is for my dad and the other one is for Oliver, Casey's brother.
Casey: We love having them at our place, you know? We all four have this little family and we have a great relationship. So the main reason behind the guest rooms is us wanting them to visit more often.
Tumblr media
Bree: Guys, your house is impressive... but I need to know... is this your dream home?
Ethan: It's perfect for this moment of our lives.
Casey: Exactly. We both love this place and we can't see ourselves living anywhere else... but we've been talking about the possibility of expanding our family in the future...
Ethan: It's a secret though, we haven't told anyone but you about it... *they smile at each other*
Bree: Really? That's great news, congratulations, guys! I feel honored!
Ethan: And the problem is that we both grew up in houses, so we don't know if a penthouse and a kid are compatible.
Casey: Exactly... but going back to your question, for me, this is more than I ever dreamed of. None of us grew up surrounded by luxuries, and I personally never had expensive stuff before coming to Boston, so this is definitely something that I'm not used to, and I don't think I ever will. But I think I'm speaking for both of us here, we're more than grateful for all of this.

Torb and/or Rein for the character ask? Would love to hear your opinions!
For this ask game! This post turned out really really long so I'm putting it beneath the cut for the sake of the mobile users.
Torbjorn (my beloved):
a song that reminds me of them What I've Done by Linkin Park. Something about the more industrial sound and the themes of regret really hits different. If you want my really weird one, When They Come For Me by Linkin Park as well. I can't really explain this one as well. . . I know this song is literally about a rapper's journey but the kinda vibe of working hard to get better and rejecting what people expect you to be? That's what I associate. I'm worried I'm going to be mocked relentlessly for this one, because most people simplify Torb's character down to "haha funny dwarf man" but fail to mention the part where he's fiercely independent and is dealing with a lot on his plate. Okay and finally! Burn It Down by Linkin Park. This one is self explanatory, it gives me big Omnic Crisis vibes and the chorus is almost word-for-word his typical catch phrase.
what they smell like There's a very specific scent that I'll try to describe. There are chemicals used to get gun powder and other gook off of guns, and they have a very astringent, oily scent to them. No matter how many times you wash your hands, the smell always lingers. I imagine it lingers on him too.
an otp Him and his wife!!!
a notp Pretty much any other ship with him. I'm not really a shipper in general and I dislike breaking up canon ships.
favorite platonic/familial relationships Brigitte- I like to think he's a good dad. I like their relationship a lot, where they're obviously very close but he respects her enough to let her go her own way with things. I like the themes of legacy that surround them, the almost love-hate relationship Torbjorn has with her becoming an engineer like him, the almost love-hate relationship Brigitte has for joining an industry that already has her father's name plastered all over it. It's fascinating. Reinhardt- bubbly optimistic loud man is best friends with the grumpy pessimistic quieter man? A character dynamic made in heaven. Bastion- I thought I had already made a post where I outlined my thoughts on Torbjorn and Bastion, but I can't seem to find it. In short, not only are they the "cute dad robot child" combo, but Bastion also represents so much for Torb. Bastion is a walking reminder of the Crisis that he helped cause- the violence, the trauma, and most importantly, the legacy. Bastion is Torbjorn's redemption: if the most destructive robot he ever built can choose non-violence then maybe the Omnics can be a force of good after all. He hates Bastion but he needs them. And Bastion, looking for their own redemption and purpose, needs him too.
a headcanon that is popular in the fandom but that i disagree with Literally everything to do with the "haha funny dwarf man" side of the fanbase. I guarantee you, if Torbjorn was a normal height and typically attractive man he'd be one of the most beloved characters in the fandom but because he's short he's a joke. It makes me so mad!!
the position they sleep in Flat on his back, all sprawled out. Alternatively, I think he likes being the big spoon with his wife.
a crossover au i’d love to see them in Probably Transformers Prime. He'd be best freaking buds with Ratchet!
my favorite outfit they’ve ever worn My favorite skin? Honestly, his classic skin is extremely iconic. . . but if I had to pick another it'd be Santaclad. It's literally flawless. Now for Reinhardt:
a song that reminds me of them Whenever I hear Reinhardt's name I immediately think of Sabaton. The entire band embodies his whole vibe- epic power metal telling and embellishing war stories of the past. I know this is stereotypical and often used as a joke pick, but I seriously do associate The Last Stand with him. It's a story from the time frame of the crusaders, although it follows a much more noble group of defenders- just like the Overwatch Crusaders. There's also a lot of overt religiousness in this song and while I don't headcanon Rein as religious, he does believe strongly in faith and the strength of spirit.
what they smell like It would be nice to think that he smells good, but honestly. . . I don't see him using any sort of cologne or anything. Like yeah, he showers, but he's so active that I bet he's always sort of sweaty. He smells very masculine in that sense.
an otp I don't really ship him with anyone because I headcanon him as aro/ace.
a notp I just. . . I don't like shipping him with Ana, purely because I think their platonic relationship is 100x better
favorite platonic/familial relationships Ana- I have a lot of thoughts on this one. . . I feel like these two would be the type to use the phrase "my better half" platonically. There's a contrast between them, yes, with Ana being the quieter and more responsible and Reinhardt more energetic and outspoken, but their differences cover each other's weaknesses. Both care so deeply about the ones they love and would do anything to protect them. Both of them are dealing with the fallout of Overwatch in almost the exact same way as well, and I think it would be good if they met up sometime in canon and coped together- except for the fact that she left him behind to begin with. It's that friendship with that hint of tragedy that really gets me. Brigitte- Platonic mentor/mentee relationship???? Reinhardt being godfather status????? How could you not. How could you not adore them. Bastion- They're not friends. The dev teaser for OW2 made that one very clear. But. . . their interplay is going to be interesting as hell. It always has been. They're two old soldiers with a sizable and frankly quite understandable chip on their shoulder. Will they reconcile, will they heal? There's a part of Rein (and Bastion as well) that wishes to befriend everyone he meets. Will it be able to overcome the trauma between them?
a headcanon that is popular in the fandom but that i disagree with This is fanon but instead canon but- some of Michael Chu's short stories imply that Ana and Jack don't like Reinhardt and that is. Not Correct. They're all friends because I said so.
the position they sleep in I think he sleeps on his side or his stomach, but never on his back. I also imagine he cuddles- be it a person or a pillow.
a crossover au i’d love to see them in Knight Rider, simply because he adores David Hasslehoff so much.
my favorite outfit they’ve ever worn I'm an absolute sucker for power armor, and Reinhardt's classic crusader armor is peak power armor design.

how would you do a percy jackson adaptaion?
okay, so I know this is a controversial opinion right off the bat: I really don’t think it should be an animated series.
A large part of the appeal of the series is that it’s a fantasy series set very very firmly in reality. Literally, apart from the camps, you could go to every location hit in the books. Riordan mentions specific streets, buildings and landmarks, and that was cool when I first read them. I remember being a kid and waiting for him to set a scene in a place near where I lived! I remember trips to New York and being able to envision an epic war happening in the streets. So I think any adaption needs to be live action just to keep that same feeling alive, while I’m not knocking on animation, I just feel like taking the story out of real life would make it loose a little of the charm. Like, the scene where Manhattan is completely frozen in time? It would be haunting to see that in real life, but I feel like it would be less impactful if it didn’t…you know…look real? The series should be done in a way that makes you truly feel like you could just turn a corner and walk straight into a snake woman going about her day.
Now: another large part of the appeal of the series is how funny it is, but a lot of that…is Percy’s inner monologue. He doesn’t actually voice most of it, there was even a book where Annabeth described him as being quiet. So, I think the best way to work around this: make it Interview With A Demigod.
Imagine it’s got an interview with a vampire-esque setup- and this even works because within the riordanverse, the books canonically exist because Percy sat down with a ‘camp scribe’ and had his quests recorded. So, like, this isn’t even entirely out of left field. But just imagine, a college-aged, maybe a little older Percy, I can see it so clearly in my head, he’s wearing a sweatshirt that at first glance looks like it says NYU but a trained eye will see it actually says NRU for a camp jupiter easter egg, he’s sitting in some dinky little diner (maybe it can even be a monster donut or something with a clever greek myth related name) with a guy who’s recording the conversation on some old-ass tape recorder that keeps acting up but they can’t record on a phone because of the whole technology thing. Every now and then it’ll cut back to them to get some great Percy thoughts out there. They open with older Percy saying the ‘look, I didn’t wanna be a halfblood’ and then explaining where he was when the whole mess started. Once he get’s to “was I a troubled kid?” the screen fades from older Percy to 12 year old Percy getting in a fight with Nancy and her gang, and the voice over says the ‘Yeah, you could say that’ part as we see him get threatened by the principal to behave on the field trip. Boom, we’ve got an opening. Lowkey….I’m seeing Jordan Fisher as older Percy, but I’m not 100% married to the idea.
And before anyone tries to argue that showing an older Percy would spoil he’s not gonna die in last olympian- like, reading the books, we all knew he wasn’t going to die. It was a first person narrative and he was consistently speaking in past tense lmao like we Knew he was gonna make it. We still enjoyed the series. It won’t ruin anything.
I want part of the score of the adaptation to be instrumental versions of songs from the musical, I think that could be a sweet nod to that team.
They really need to nail camp halfblood. I know that goes without saying, but in order to keep the pacing of the story decent we can’t spend as much time falling in love with it like we got to with the book. The book is like, 24 chapters and the quest starts at chapter 12- for a movie or tv show, that’s just gonna feel like it’s dragging. So, the insanity of the camp needs to smack you in the face right away, and then it needs to endear itself to the viewers quickly after that. Don’t try to ease the viewers (or Percy) into the mythology is real thing, rip it off like a bandaid. He’s on his way to meet Chiron and Mr. D for the first time and even if he’s not comprehending what he’s seeing, there’s nature spirits and harpies all around going about their day. Hestia waves at him and then disappears into the flames. Hecate kids can be seen casting a spell on the porch of the Hermes cabin. The Stolls are seen pranking some Aphrodite kids. He sees someone surely die on the climbing wall but then you hear a faint ‘I’m okay!’. The Apollo kids put a rhyming curse on another cabin. Pure chaos all before he gets the ‘so, gods are real’ speech. And then after that…show how warm Luke is to him at the cabin and at dinner. Show the kids all goofing off at the campfire and really make it clear that they’re children. Show the strawberry fields rolling in the wind and Percy sitting on the beach. The whole couple weeks where he’s searching for powers and learning greek and latin with Annabeth can be a montage. Make it clear how hurt and scared he is when he finds out he needs to leave.
It needs to really get you feeling how Percy’s feeling, every laugh, every tear, every moment of fear or confusion needs to shine clear through. Like…think of Spider-Man Homecoming, the Washington monument scene. All things considered, it’s not the most high-stakes scene we’ve ever seen in that franchise, and when it cuts to the kids in the elevator, they’re worried but not quite freaking out, but that scene feels very high stress to watch because the movie is good at getting the viewers to feel what Peter feels. A Percy Jackson adaptation needs a touch like that, because Percy’s a very emotional kid and that’s what a lot of the scenes hinge on.
Lowkey- I’d love it if the casts of both the previous movies and the musical had cameos or bit parts (the movie cast did Nothing Wrong, it was the rest of that team). It’d be hilarious to see, like, Jake Abel as the owner of the poodle, or Logan Lerman as Older Percy and the reporter’s waiter that keeps trying to get in on the conversation, or Brandon T. Jackson as a satyr who’s still stuck grooving out in the Lotus Hotel and Casino. Kristen Stokes as a nature spirit, Chris as one of the ghosts stuck in the waiting room of DOA Records, just like any of those casts having small parts would be fun and sweet.
There should be a lot of easter eggs for the bigger riordanverse. Promotions in the background for the new Tristan McLean movie. Gabe’s got a true crime documentary about the missing Grace children playing during his poker game. Mr. D is reading a paper about Rachel Dare’s father’s newest project. At some point while they’re still in New York they pass the Kane family’s mansion or whatever it was called. Annabeth keeps a picture of little her and Magnus on her nightstand. The barest of hints about the Triumvirate. Seeing kids in camp jupiter gear in some background shots, just out of notice of our main characters but implying the camps are going through similar problems (BITCH….if we got a titan’s curse adaptation…and we had a shot of Thalia in the foreground….but in the background we saw a blond boy in purple with a golden sword….well I would simply loose my Goddamn mind).
And show us how easily the mist lets things blend in, too- like, everyone thinks ‘Monster Donuts’ is just a normal chain, it’s just on an average street block, but if Percy looks through the window he can see who’s behind the counter. Show someone swindling some guys in a park and you have to look twice to realize he’s a gegeines. Like…how people are still trying to find all the background ghosts in haunting of hill house. I would LOVE to see a bunch of background monsters and mythical beings just going about their day as much as the mortals are while the gang’s questing.
The effects need to be fun. The whole story needs to be fun, but one weird thing about the past movies are that like…in their attempt to make it gritty, none of the fantastical things happening on screen actually felt that exciting. We need bright colors and interesting choices, consistently cool action shots, a liveliness that makes you feel like you’re in the center of the action. I have absolutely no doubt Disney easily has enough funds to pull off great effects.
The characters need to be….in character lmao. Annabeth needs to be cocky and bratty with the skill set to justify it. Percy needs to be a sweetheart who pretends to be hardened because that’s what people assume he’s like. Grover needs to have dry humor and a Too Old For This Shit attitude whenever percabeth start bickering. Luke needs to be nice and friendly but in a specific way that you can look back after the betrayal and see he was trying to groom everyone. Sally needs to be loving, protective and strong. Chiron needs to feel defeated and determined at the same time. Mr. D needs to….be Stanley Tucci lmao
Also, I’d love if the adaptation could expand more on things that got brushed along in the books- Percy and Beckendorf’s friendship, Silena and Clarisse’s dynamic, make Nico’s crush on Percy a little more obvious, give Rachel some more development. One thing that haunts me about the books is Sally never found out that Gabe hit Percy. Absolutely they don’t need to make the abuse explicit, but I also personally feel like a lot of Percy’s mindsets throughout the series are somewhat a result of Gabe, and I’d like if that got, you know, acknowledged. Maybe in the scene where he figures out Gabe abuses Sally he could say ‘does he hit you too?’ or something to that effect. They could also go more into detail about Annabeth’s family, give Zoe some more depth….like the possibilities I’m screaming.
Okay this is already long and I’m getting tired but I can so clearly see a great adaptation in my mind….Disney please come through….It’s what we deserve….

Hi!  I don’t think it’s easy to put Anakin and Padme’s relationship into just one category or the other, that we see it’s both of these aspects to their relationship. On a storytelling level, on a very foundational level, I think there has to be love between them, because why else would we at all care about the tragedy of them, if they were only obsessed with each other, rather than genuinely loved each other?  If there was no love there, why would we care at all when they fell apart? At the same time, they do fall apart and that’s something that’s been building since the first episode.  They never get a chance to really know each other--how can they?  Anakin and Padme met when he was 9 and she was 14, for a week or two at most, during an incredibly busy time on Naboo, so it’s not like they would have had time to get to know each other very well. He spends the next ten years dreaming of her despite not talking to her in any way that we see (and I think the implication of AOTC is that they have not been in contact, given that she’s surprised to see him all grown up, and the way they introduce themselves to each other), of course he’s built up this idea of her in his mind. They know each other for about another week during Attack of the Clones, put into really intense circumstances, and then marry each other despite not having time to get to actually know who the other person is.  Padme talks about how getting into a secret relationship like this might destroy them, she’s already acknowledging that this would put a huge strain on their relationship, but they throw that caution to the wind because their feelings have been wound up so intensely. This also comes along with what happens on Tatooine, that Padme sets aside that Anakin murdered indigenous children in his anger and this is really important to their story, not just because she should be seeing some giant red flags or having some reaction other than “to be angry is to be human” (when talking about the murder of children), but because it’s going to come into play in Revenge of the Sith, where Padme absolutely knows what happened the last time Anakin had dreams about his mother.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She’s the one who knows those dreams were nightmares, she’s the one who knows what Anakin did to the Tusken children after those dreams haunted him, and she says, “It’s just a dream.” when she sees Anakin getting disturbed about her in ROTS.
Tumblr media
Padme is just as blind to who Anakin really is as Anakin is blind to who Padme really is--partly because they never have the time to get to know each other, even the week or so that they spend together in the movie (during/after TPM and during/after AOTC) are times where there’s so much going on, that even if a week or so were enough time to get to know someone (it’s not), they wouldn’t have been able to.  Naboo was being invaded!  Padme had an assassin trying to kill her!  Anakin was freaking out about his mom!  An entire war was unfolding around them! And even after that, the war kept them apart for months at a time, they probably spent far more time apart than they did together. They both idealize the other to an extent, they’re both tremendous romantics, they love the epic, sweeping romance that they fling themselves into--Padme just as much as Anakin.  Her heart absolutely wins out over her mind when it comes to him, because she is just as into this romance that sweeps them off their feet. That’s why the scene from The Clone Wars’ first season, where Padme is trying to get important work done--work that has other people’s lives depending on her--that’s interrupted by Anakin because feelings are more important to him than the people she’s trying to help, is important to show that she absolutely gets swept up in this.  Padme wants this grand, sweeping romance just as much as Anakin does, she melts when he hands over his lightsaber and leans in to kiss her, because this speaks so strongly to her heart. That’s a fantastic scene because it shows the beginnings of how things are going to go so wrong, how they’re sweet and loving in that moment, but it sets the stage for how they don’t handle their shit and how they’re ignoring the bigger problems in the room. It leads to scenes like what happens with Clovis in season five, where Padme repeatedly tells Anakin that she’s not romantically interested in Clovis and he still is so jealous that he tries to forbid her from doing anything with him to help uncover what’s going on on Scipio.  She has poured everything of her heart into this relationship and still when Anakin walks into a scene where they’re kissing, even when it’s clear to the audience that Clovis initiated it, Anakin says that he thinks Padme was the one kissing Clovis, that he still questions if she has feelings for him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We, the audience, see that Clovis tried to push himself onto Padme, but the conversation between Anakin and Padme afterwards has none of Anakin saying anything about that, instead he specifically says--while he’s defending himself and trying to explain his actions after beating up Clovis--”It’s just, when I saw you about to kiss him--”, showing that it’s about his lack of trust in her, his lack of understanding that she’s truly committed to him, despite everything they’ve said to each other. It’s a direct line to Revenge of the Sith where Anakin is so easily willing to believe that Padme would betray him (by siding with Obi-Wan behind his back, also believing so easily that Obi-Wan would side against him, despite that Obi-Wan has practically been trying to move mountains to help Anakin), showing that these misunderstandings about who the other person is have been there from the beginning and are never fixed. And, ultimately, they don’t actually talk through any of what happened with Clovis, they take a brief break, shit on Scipio hits the fan, he saves her life, they cuddle on the roof of the banking building, and that’s it. They come back together because of intense circumstances creating intense feelings all over again. It isn’t just the secrecy that tears them apart, it’s all the internal stuff as well, the things they don’t address, the things they ignore, the things they don’t see about each other, the way they both won’t make a real choice between their duty and their personal relationship.  Both paths are valuable to each of them, both paths are good--being a Jedi, being a Senator or having this passionate marriage where you want to take off and do whatever you want whenever you want, but as Dave Filoni says it’s about:  “What you choose to do and how you choose to have a relationship, what you sacrifice, then that becomes a bigger deal when he’s made an oath to the Jedi Order to be selfless, to put everyone else ahead of himself.” The oaths they both swore to something bigger than themselves are a big deal and Anakin and Padme both never really figure that out for themselves. And that’s why they’re ultimately torn apart, because Anakin got attached (in the Star Wars meaning of the word) and fell to the dark side because he refused to actually achieve balance within himself, that he rejected the Jedi teachings on how to love without possession. “The fact that everything must change and that things come and go through his life and that he can’t hold onto things, which is a basic Jedi philosophy that he isn’t willing to accept emotionally and the reason that is because he was raised by his mother rather than the Jedi. If he’d have been taken in his first year and started to study to be a Jedi, he wouldn’t have this particular connection as strong as it is and he’d have been trained to love people but not to become attached to them. “But he has become attached to his mother and he will become attached to Padme and these things are, for a Jedi, who needs to have a clear mind and not be influenced by threats to their attachments, a dangerous situation. And it feeds into fear of losing things, which feeds into greed, wanting to keep things, wanting to keep his possessions and things that he should be letting go of. His fear of losing her turns to anger at losing her, which ultimately turns to revenge in wiping out the village. The scene with the Tusken Raiders is the first scene that ultimately takes him on the road to the dark side. I mean he’s been prepping for this, but that’s the one where he’s sort of doing something that is completely inappropriate.“   --George Lucas, Attack of the Clones commentary “He turns into Darth Vader because he gets attached to things. He can’t let go of his mother; he can’t let go of his girlfriend. He can’t let go of things. It makes you greedy. And when you’re greedy, you are on the path to the dark side, because you fear you’re going to lose things, that you’re not going to have the power you need.”  --George Lucas, Time Magazine interview And that’s how we get to this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That they were in a relationship wasn’t bad, but that Anakin’s attachment to his mother and to Padme led him to do terrible, horrible things, it led him to mistrust Padme even when there was nothing to indicate that she had betrayed him, that these things happened all along the way. They did idealize each other, they did romanticize each other, they did ignore the looming specter of the oaths they swore were being damaged by the way they lived their relationship, they never had time to know each other, Anakin’s feelings for her were the most important thing thing for him--even more important than what Padme herself wanted. “Nothing is more important than the way I feel about you,” he says.  Which is romantic until you realize the lengths he’s willing to be entirely literal about that. “And the bad part is saying, 'I'm doing this for Padme.'" --George Lucas directing Hayden Christensen in Revenge of the Sith on his turn to Darth Vader, that the justification of doing this for her is the bad side of him. Another interesting perspective on this is from the Star Wars Adventures 2019 Annual comic, where Breha talks about Padme to a young baby Leia, which is mostly about Padme’s legacy and the plot-related things she achieved, but briefly talks about her relationship with Anakin, and describes it as, “As fate tried to dictate her response, as love almost diverted her from her quest...”
Tumblr media
Breha isn’t someone who would be against love if it were done for the right reasons, she’s married to Bail Organa and we see in Leia: Princess of Alderaan and From a Certain Point of View that they love each other very much.  For her to say this about Padme’s relationship, it says a lot. Now, all that said--and, yes, I’ve given the pairing a real scrubbing because there was a lot to establish and I find those aspects of their relationship fascinating, but this part is just as important--they also genuinely cared about each other. Look at the scene in season 7 of The Clone Wars, where (setting aside that he’s sneaking around to do it), Padme’s advice to him is really warm-hearted and she does gently tease him about his personal feelings driving him too much sometimes, getting him to acknowledge it, showing that Anakin does have the wisdom and training to recognize this. As well as it shows that they gain comfort from each other, they’re soft with each other, they both genuinely enjoy the other’s company:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That’s an incredibly lovely moment, the hand touching says volumes about how they feel about each other, what that small gesture means to each of them and their feelings towards the other. Or, backing up a ways, to further the idea that of course there was love here, look at the way their wedding was shown to us--it’s beautiful and perhaps there’s a touch of bittersweetness to it, but it’s genuinely shown in a gorgeous, romantic way.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s even paralleled to the scene of Luke and Leia at the end of ESB, furthering context that there’s a lot of genuine love and care here. (Not to mention the focus on the way they touch hands at their wedding, the way the music is epic and sweeping, telling us with sound and visuals both, that this is a beautiful moment in this very moment.) Or look at how they are in Forces of Destiny:
Tumblr media
These are two people who want to be together, you can see it in the way they huddle together and the way they speak to each other. Or look at the beautiful way their kiss is framed in the Age of Republic comic, it’s clear from the visuals that it’s meant to be a romantic, sweet moment. Even if we can talk about the bigger context around it, how Padme is keeping secrets from Anakin and her handmaidens, not letting anyone into her thoughts, the moment itself shows us very clearly that they’re in love, the romance is meant to be seen as genuine:
Tumblr media
Or there are some really cute, genuine moments, like in the Star Wars Adventures main series, where Anakin and Padme go on a vacation together and there’s some very cute flirting:
Tumblr media
There is nothing about this that’s not completely sweet and adorable!  (And there are some other moments in those two issues that are more cute, sweet flirting.) I don’t think you can have one without the other--Anakin and Padme’s relationship is full of a lot of really disastrous elements on a foundational level.  The lengths Anakin is willing to go to for her, that his fall is directly attributed to his unwillingness to accept the Jedi teachings of that you can (and should) love, but you can’t possess someone, you can’t be greedy about being owed that person, those are baked into the relationship. But so are the cute moments, the genuine care they had for each other, that none of the tragedy would have any meaning or impact if they didn’t genuinely enjoy being around each other, if there wasn’t something genuine there.

Ruin and Rising - review
Wow. I finally made it to the end of the Grisha trilogy. At some points I really wasn’t sure I was going to continue but here we are. So without further ado, here’s my review. I apologise for how long it is. I tried to keep is short but I failed.
Shipping: so whilst I didn’t really cared about who to ship Alina with in the first two books, this book was the one that really made me like Mal and Alina together. It was always going to be these two. Mal might not be as interesting as the other two. And yes, he was kind of annoying and whiny in the other books but guys, he loved her! He was willing to do anything for her - including literally dying for her.
I’ll probably make a separate post on my dislike for the Darkling but for now let’s just leave it at 1) his relationship with Alina is toxic and 2) I don’t really see the romance in it. I think he just liked her because she was like him and it made him feel less alone.
As for Nikolai, although I do believe he and Alina would’ve been a great couple, ultimately I think they’re better off as friends. I did really enjoy reading their interactions though. Probably one of my favourites in the books.
Other ships (because I love Love and think they deserve a shoutout):
Genya and David - so freaking cute!! I don’t even know what else to say other than that. I just love them together.
Nadia and Tamar - love these two. They’re so strong and badass. Perfect together.
Ok. Thoughts on the book in general.
Fans who said Bardugo’s writing got better with each book were completely right. I found the other two books very boring but this one was brilliant in comparison!
Things I liked:
Nikolaiiiii. I just love him so much. I love his wit and his brain. When the Darkling did what he did to him I was so angry. Both because it hurt Nikolai and because it meant there was little Nikolai in this book. I’m very interested to delve deeper into Nikolai’s character in King of Scars.
The Morozova story. I thought the way all the elements came together was very clever. Mal being the third amplifier?? I didn’t see that coming. Baghra’s story was really heartbreaking but it gave us an insight into why the Darkling is the way he is.
My favourite thing about this book (and what makes it better than the other two) is the bonds created and the dialogue between the characters. (Alina, Mal, Nikolai, Genya, David, Tamar, Toyla, Zoya, Harshaw and others - I loved them all). What I’ve realised is that I like stories about a group of people working together. I love watching different characters with different personalities, strengths and weaknesses interact with one another. And I really enjoyed seeing that in this book (I’d go into more detail about specific friendships etc but then this post would be super long...well longer than it already is).
I know people will disagree with me on this but I think where Alina ended up makes sense. Am I sad she lost her powers? Of course! But it’s not about what I want her to be. It’s about what she wants. And she wanted to be with Mal. She wanted to live a simple life with him. Losing her powers made that possible.
Things I disliked:
....the end. Not the epilogue just the few chapters before that. I feel like the whole “defeating the Darkling” scene was kind of anticlimactic. I don’t know, I just expected...more. I wanted to see this really complex and epic battle. Instead it fell a bit flat. It could be because it’s from one POV though. I feel like when (if) we get to this point in the show we’ll see more of the fighting from other character’s POVs which might bring more depth to the final battle.
The overemphasis of the idea that Alina and the Darkling are different and therefore can’t have a normal life like everyone else. Maybe I’m just being fussy but this didn’t make sense to me. Yes, their powers are different to everyone else but they’re not alone in feeling isolated because of their powers. The other grisha also experience this. And I don’t feel like they were hated by any of the other grisha for having slightly different powers. So this point annoyed me. (Also the Darkling isn’t special, his mum has the exact same powers as him!)
“I am become a blade” - I’m sorry but what does that even mean??? Every time they brought this line up I felt so annoyed.
Overall I give it 3.5/5 stars. I really enjoyed the bonding between the characters and I loved the amplifier plot twist the overall plot fell flat. I think the story had a lot of potential to be darker, grittier and more complex

surely post some autistic ferb things for us all,,,,,,
hell yeah anon!! here’s an absolute hell dump of Ferb Autism Indulgence Things because i have really been wanting to get my grubby little autistic hands all over him lately
his special interests are engineering and tetris [which is the game he’s internationally ranked in!]
he stims vocally by humming or repeating other vocalisations, but rarely with actual words
if he’s too nervous to vocalise/just not in the mood he goes for small hand movements to stim like clicking pens or tapping his fingers
he does flappy hands/arms when he has a lot of excitement to release! otherwise he prefers to stick to smaller/more subtle motions for a variety of reasons
he only repeats actual words as echolalia, almost always off of either phineas or perry! that thing they do where perry chatters and the boys mimic it and they all just loop off each other for a while is absolutely an echolalia loop for all of them [yes even the platypus]
a very epic headcanon i have is that owca agents are typically labelled as having therapy animal training to give them some more wiggle room with showing intelligence, so perry is officially a therapy platypus for the flynn-fletcher kids, especially the boys. ferb does the aforementioned echolalia chatter thing with perry and also just generally finds him extremely comforting to hold. of course perry’s figured out all of ferb and his siblings’ needs by observation and makes sure to subtly be as comforting as possible for his kids, especially if they’re having a meltdown and need to hold someone who won’t try to talk to them
ferb genuinely dislikes communicating verbally, due to a combination of general social anxiety, struggling to translate his thoughts into words, and finding it physically uncomfortable to talk. it’s not serious enough to prevent him from cracking a joke or vocalising his thoughts every once in a while, but he prefers to be nonverbal as much as possible and communicate through gestures and body language
throughout the series he only ever speaks on his own terms and as much as he’s comfortable with, so it comes out without issue, but if he’s forced to talk when he doesn’t want to or while he’s under stress he struggles to string sentences together and stutters really badly. fortunately he’s got nice friends and a great family so this issue rarely presents itself, although it comes up sometimes during the school year in battles with pissy neurotypical teachers over oral presentations
over time he starts to work past the discomfort [genuinely, it’s on his own terms as opposed to masking to get allistics off his back] so that by the time he’s an adult he can hold an entirely verbal conversation for a decent while before it drains him, but he still tends to avoid speaking if he can
phineas instinctively understands ferb’s silent emotional cues, a lot better than he understands most people’s [but that’s a whole other infodump lmao], and unless ferb actively indicates that he wants to talk for himself phineas usually speaks for both of them and translates any of ferb’s less neurotypically obvious signals
phineas and ferb made The Ultimate Fidget Cube as one of their daily projects [they were being mass produced for an hour or two and then something or other happened, there was a mobile phone and an avalanche of instant noodles, long story short only the handful they made for themselves and their friends are left now] and neither of them go anywhere without it
ferb doesn’t have any specific comfort/security objects but he feels significantly more at ease if he’s got some kind of tool in his hand or within reach [or, failing an actual building-stuff tool, anything he can hold and Do Something with, like a pen or his fidget cube or a video game controller], and is a lot more stimmy with his hands and generally anxious if he isn’t holding something
perry performs the task of comfort item better than any inanimate objects but platypi aren’t allowed to come to school even if they’re very polite :(
believe me the brothers have tested this numerous times
school is stressful for ferb because it fires up his sensory overload and is usually where he’s forced to do some neurotypical shit that upsets him, but his friends always have his back and linda and lawrence are definitely super involved in making sure their kids’ needs are met and respected by their teachers, so he manages pretty well unless something really bad happens to set him off
he’s susceptible to sensory overload, mostly with bright lights, sudden noises, and being touched. the light and sound involved in many of his and phineas’ projects is alright because he usually designed them and knows exactly when they’ll come on and what it’ll be like, but if he doesn’t have that prediction available he freaks out easily. being touched [especially without warning] is the absolute fucking worst and he almost invariably flips out if someone unfamiliar tries to touch him or he’s hit with an unexpected sensation he doesn’t like
he only rarely has meltdowns because he’s good at self-regulating when he needs to and his friends and family know what does and doesn’t fly with him, but when he does they’re often triggered by either sensory overload or being forced to talk
when ferb starts entering meltdown territory his verbal skills are the first thing to shut off, and if it gets worse he usually stops communicating altogether and enters a really bad dissociative state that he won’t come out of until he feels safe again and can be carefully brought back to his senses
standard procedure for ferb meltdowns is to get him a weighted blanket and some tea and a perry if you can find the slippery little bugger, let him snap back to reality at his own pace, and once he can communicate his needs again pay extra close attention to them until he calms down enough that he can properly self-regulate again
his favourite sensations are weight/pressure, the funky bumpy shit perry’s tail has going on, and anything soft!
most of his clothes [including his usual outfit in the show] are tight-fitting but made out of soft fabric for maximum comfy
the blanket on his bed is a weighted one, but if he’s too far from his room or it’s too hot to be comfortable under a blanket sometimes he’ll just find the tightest spot he can wedge himself into without getting hurt or stuck and squish himself in there to calm down a bit
his favourite food texture is crunchy stuff, and he samefoods with particular cereals and sandwich combos that rotate every few months when he finally gets tired of the exact same breakfast and lunch every day and wants slightly different identical meals
while he’s fine with variation from day to day, he’s very firmly attached to the summer/weekend formula of wake up > cereal > big idea > where’s perry > [building montage] > mom holy fuck > sandwich > [having fun montage] > our fuckoff massive contraption has vanished somehow > oh there you are perry > snacks > nondescript vibing > dinner > bed time, and if this schedule gets significantly thrown off it really bothers him
ferb shows his emotions more subtly than neurotypicals, which can make him seem hard to read, but his external emotional range is still extremely distinct - he just expresses it in atypical ways sometimes!
one of his most notable atypical emotional cues is that thing he does when he’s startled and he pulls his hands up - he does this in we call it maze when candace falls over on her skates in the beginning, split personality when busting candace scares him, lost in danville when he’s worried another capsule might fall on him or phineas, and the phineas and ferb effect during how do i do it when milo’s exercise bike crashes, just to name a few instances! this boy has Unique Emotional Cues and i love him for it so much
he’s better at reading emotions than phineas [as low as that bar is], but sometimes misses more subtle cues and doesn’t quite trust his ability to read anyone aside from phineas, candace, and his closest friends
he’s been aware that he’s neurodivergent ever since he was diagnosed as a little kid [he was first diagnosed with autism when he was extremely baby, not even three years old, and had it continually reconfirmed as he got older] and he’s been entirely happy with being autistic for as long as he’s known what that even means, with this only being reinforced as he found siblings and made friends with other autistic kids :)
good lord this is such an infodump i’m sorry i just love my son so very much and have been feeling particularly self indulgent today ;<;

Personal Dark Souls rankings
World Building:
DS1 > DS2 > DS3
Let’s start with an quite obvious one. I agree with many fans that DS3 is more linear, while the other two games allow more exploration.
What gives DS2 the lower place is the fact that sometimes hidden paths are SO WELL hidden that I actually lost orientation at some point. I couldn’t find the next location or simply couldn’t recognize if a place actually was a dead end or not. That way I really was unsure whether I was making any progression in the game or not.
DS1 linked the levels perfectly. At the beginning, I immediately tried out all paths from Firelink Shrine. And I had no problems memorizing the several locked / accessible entrances and where they (might) lead.
Soundtracks:
DS3 > DS1 > DS2
You mainly hear Music played either when you’re in a Boss Battle or at Firelink Shrine / Majula. And while I consider Majula’s Soundtrack better than the Shrines, I cant say the same about the rest in its game.
Generally you’re too busy focusing on the boss to pay much attention to the Soundtrack. But in DS3 it happened often enough that I still noticed some bosses’ melodies. First it was at the Cryszal Sage battle, where I thought: Man this music is creepy and intense! Then in the Abyss Watchers battle I thought: Holy sh*t the bell and the violins and the voice! Absolutely badass! These are only a few examples of many times I caught myself focusing more on the soundtrack than the Boss. Yes, it cost me many lives, but it’s worth it!
DS1 didn’t have many soundtracks I really noticed. But still, after some boss battles I had an earworm. Right while I’m typing this, I have the Gaping Dragon’s soundtrack in my head.
And DS2... In short: There isn’t a single soundtrack I had really memorized. Majula is the only great exeption.
Level Design:
DS2 > DS1 > DS3
When I think of it, DS2 generally has he biggest world. And due to this size, so many different locations could fit into the game. We have a great underground “labyrinth”, stormy mountains with Dragons flying around, sand pits, giant castles built at the edge of the ocean, simple forests and don’t get me started on Drangelic Castle. I think from all levels in EVERY Dark Souls game, Drangelic castle has to be my favourite... Okay, next to Anor Londo.
All places in DS2 are noticeable and memorable in their very own way and I love that! I could never look my fill when I traveled from one location to the other. Even the Gutter has its own uniqueness. I still hate it.
Now to DS1. It’s lower placed because in my opinion the levels are too bound to the Dark Medieval Fantasy theme. The game mainly consists of Castles, Dungeons, Catacombs, ruins of Castles, evil lairs filled with fire, abandoned Cities, maybe a forest. The only exceptions I can think of right now, are the Crystal Cave and Blighttown. But I think that’s it.
Now to DS3. I don’t dislike the levels at all. I just think they’re... not quite diverse. Just like DS1, we have our ruins, catacombs, castles, forests, etc. But plus to this, another detail makes almost every location similar to each other: Everything is in ruins. Destroyed. Far past its glory. Abandoned. And full of freaking candles. Again, not that I dislike it. But I feel like so many levels follow the same style. Of course there are some exceptions here and there. Sure, it might have something to do with the lore in DS3. But it is as it is.
Bosses:
DS3 > DS1 > DS2
As I mentioned before, what makes bossfights far more enjoyable for me than in the other games, is the soundtrack. That already is a big plus point for DS3. Apart from that I appreciate the variety of the bosses. With that I don’t only mean the species, but also the sizes. From a group of old men up to one gigantic skeleton.
Also I think DS3 has the most cutscenes for its bosses. Altogether I feel like most efforts were put into DS3 bosses than in the other games. And the fights themselves are often enjoyable. I can’t think of much that really frustrated me in the game, except the Curse Rotten Greatwood. But again, there I like that you have a different fight mechanic, where you have to hit specific spots to deal damage. Heck, I even like the fight against the Ancient Wyvern, just because the mechanics are different.
The fights against DS1 bosses was also often fun. Except Bed of Chaos. But here you mainly just have the “beat it until it stops moving” fight. Pretty simple. Not that I complain though, it doesn’t make the fights less enjoyable.
What I like the most about DS1 bosses, are the bosses themselves. With that I mean their character, their design, and most importantly: Their lore. I already knew Sif’s story before I started to play any Dark Souls just because he got so famous. I like how we have our four main bosses introduced in the beginning cutscene. With Gwyndolin you have the chance to freaking challenge a god. In the DLC you get into the role of the fairytales’ noble knight, who saves the land from evil forces, and who slays the big monster to rescue the pretty princess. Also the fight against Artorias is one of the best fights in the entire series.
DS2 also has bosses which I like, simply because of their lore. Especially King Vendrick and the Ivory King. But what gives DS2 the last place, is the lacking diversity in the bosses. Many of them are... well... Dudes in Armors. Of course I think of the exceptions, too. And the fact that DS2 has so many bosses. But to put it simple: The number of good and enjoyable bosses is heavenly balanced with the number of frustrating / less memorable ones.
DLCs
DS2 > DS3 > DS1
As I said before: DS2 has a great level design. And the same goes to its DLCs.
Frozen Eleum Loyce with its clear blue sky and buildings covered in snow is one of the prettiest areas in the series. And I love the idea, where you have the option to search for trapped Knights which will then help you to fight against the final boss. And the bossfight itself is also one of he best in the series. Mainly because of the boss stage itself and the Burnt Ivory King’s epic entrance.
Heck, I even loved the Frigid Outskirts. I can see what it’s so hated by many fans, but I enjoyed the concept of this great field of snow, where you have to navigate trough the storms and defend yourself against demonic thunder horses. The grim Atmosphere is intense. Okay, I didn’t like the bossfight, but that’s actually the only negative point I have.
While the other two DLCs weren’t that much fun and eye-candy, I still couldn’t stop exploring every corner of the maps. Especially the Sunken King DLC. Also the bosses were great, too. Even if I got really frustrated at the fight against Elana, I still liked her character design.
So, in short: The flaws in DS2′s DLCs could be easily overshadowed by all the good aspects.
I actually had to think whether I should put DS3 above DS1 or otherwise. But I decided to rank DS3 higher because of the level design. To be honest, it wasn’t really that much fun to navigate through any DLC maps. The Ringes City looks beautiful though. And I liked that the lore about Gwyn was picked up again. The characters all were great and the fight against Ariandel and Friede was epic in every aspect.
But from all levels in the series, I felt like the DLCs in DS3 are the least obliging. Yes, Dark Souls is known to be hard, I know that. But here it was just frustrating and disheartening. Usually when I die in Dark Souls, I’m thinking: Okay, next time I got this. I need to pay attention to X so I won’t get killed again. I can make it. Challenge accepted. But here I just was glad when I could bring places behind me. I didn’t feel that much of a sense of accomplishment while I fought my way through. It’s definetely the Lore that carried DS3′s DLC to the second place. Also Lorian was mentioned and had a role. Yes, that is important.
The main reason I placed DS1′s DLC last is the location’s design. Mainly it’s just a brighter, dryer version of Darkroot Garden. On the other hand I liked Oolacile and The Abyss. But especially in Oolacile I didn’t have that much fun either. Mainly because of the enemy type you encountered there. What I really liked though, were the bossfights. Okay, the Sanctuary Guardian and Kalameet were very similar to Monster Hunter battles for me. Manus was fun to fight because dodging his attacks felt really rewarding. Plus you had Sif by your side. But Artorias. Dang, he was hard. And Challenging. I died at least 20 times against him. But i didn’t care, just because the fight against him was so fantastic!
As I said, DS3 and DS1 are very close to each other and DS1 could have easily landed on second place, just because of Artorias. You could actually just consider both of them as second.
_________________________________________________
So, for now this will be it. I have no idea if anyone will ever read this list, or even care about my opinion. But I just felt like talking about anything Dark Souls related. Noone in my real life is interested in Dark Souls at all, so I decided to share my thoughts here.
If you want, you can write why you agree or disagree with my views. If you want, you can even ask for other aspects to rank the three games, but it’s totally up to you.
For those who spent their time reading this: Thank you very much for reading. It’s much appreciated!

FTWD 6x08: First Analysis
Okay, let’s talk about this episode. 1) It SUCKED. 2) It also SUCKED. Anyone want to take a stab at what I’ll list for #3?
Why? Character death.
I’ll put all spoilers beneath the READ MORE. If this makes you at all worried about Beth’s return, read what I’ve written below. It will make you feel better.
***As always, spoilers abound for 6x08 below. Don’t read until you’ve watched!***
Tumblr media
Okay, so I’m sure you already figured this out, but John is probably my favorite character currently on FEAR, so I’m super-bummed that they decided to kill him off. And I totally didn’t see it coming. The screeners talked about something big happening in Fear, but I didn’t think it would be this. Yeah. SUCKS.
But let’s discuss, shall we?
Because there was and still is a lot of Beth symbolism around John, I know that’s going to unsettle people. I don’t want this to come across as me being worried in any way, but I’ve already gotten quite a few Asks and messages, so clearly others in the fandom are worried that because John dies here, it might mean Beth really did die, too.
Let me assure you, there’s nothing further from the truth.
I’d like you to keep the following 6 points:
1.       It’s all about the attitude of the character in that moment. (A.k.a. the symbolism can change.)
2.       His death will spur on the current storyline and affect other characters.
3.       There is plenty of precedent for killing off true love couples. Unfortunately.
4.       This was a replay of Grady.
5.       John does not = Beth in this season. Morgan does.
6.       Major clarity on the Door symbol, and that’s freaking huge!
It’s all about the character’s attitude in the moment.
This is something I’ve addressed before when looking at the dialogue various characters have before their deaths. In most cases, they accept their deaths or become negative in some way. And that’s not to say that they all want to die or try to commit suicide. For example, Dale. He didn’t want to die and he wasn’t suicidal. But before his death, he said he no longer wanted to live in a world where they killed Randal. That’s basically, through symbolic dialogue, announcing his own death.
Another good example is Glenn. There was tons of Beth symbolism and even a lot of her dialogue around Glenn in S6, just before his death fake out. Now, clearly he didn’t want to die in 7x01, and he didn’t really say anything to that effect. But the point is, the hopeful, Beth symbols around him wasn’t present in 6x16/7x01 as it was in 6x03. So, the symbolism around a character can change if their attitude has changed and their heading toward their own death.
Do you see what I mean? While there has been lots of Beth symbolism around John and June in the past, in this episode and even a few previous to this, he became very hopeless and dark. You could say he parallels to S2 Beth who also tried to commit suicide. Not to S4/S5 Beth who was hopeful and determined to live.
Throughout the episode, Morgan gives John tons of chances to change his mind, and he refuses.
Tumblr media
One more example and I’ll move on. Heath and Tara.
I’ll admit this symbolism is a little confusing, and I had to think through it several times to square it in my head. In 7x06, Tara fell off a bridge into a river, and washed up in a new community. She lived. Here, John falls off a bridge into a river and washes up in front of his own cabin. But he dies.
We’ve always attributed the Tara symbolism to Beth, yet John died here. But Tara DID live, so which is it?
Again, it just depends on the attitude. Before Tara went off the bridge, we saw her being positive and hopeful, while Heath was being super negative and hopeless. Tara lived. She found herself in captivity, but eventually escaped and made it home. Heath didn’t die in that case, but disappeared into the CRM. The point is, something bad happened to him because he was being negative and hopeless. And to this day, he’s never made it home. See what I mean? So, it’s all about where the character’s head is at. Unfortunately, John had given up.
Tumblr media
And the other confusing thing is that he seems to get his hope back right at the end. The last thing we see him say is “It’s not too late.” But I think the idea is that it’s just too little too late at that point. If you follow the sequence of events back, it’s clear that if he hadn’t gone back to the cabin and tried to kill himself, he wouldn’t have been on that bridge and Lizzie—I mean Dakota—wouldn’t have killed him. So his death was the result of his own actions.
His death will spur on the current storyline and affect other characters.
This is something the showrunners really emphasize on TTD. And I won’t say I’m a fan of it, but we do have a precedent for it in the show. Glenn’s death kicked off AOW. Jesus’s death happened at the start of the Whisper War. The death of the pike victims spurred Carol to let Negan out to kill Alpha. So, while I wish they’d used someone other than John for this (cuz I heart him), this is something we’ve seen in other story lines before.
Will it happen with Beth? Well, I don’t think Beth will die at the beginning of the CRM war, if that’s what anyone is thinking. But I think someone will. I’ll talk more about this below, but for now, know that there probably will be a sacrifice of some kind. I actually kind of wonder if it will be Eugene. Only because of the Sampson template. I’ve said before that I think, like Sampson, he might do something to save TF, kill their enemies, and give them a fighting chance. But that remains to be seen, of course.
Tumblr media
There’s even a line in this episode where John says, “this river has a way of bringing people back to life.” Clearly, that doesn’t apply to him. But I think it applies to the rest of his group who will “come alive” and finally fight off Virginia’s evil yoke.
There is plenty of precedent for killing off true love couples. Unfortunately.
Another reason I know this makes people nervous is because this is a true love couple with major symbolic ties to Bethyl. I get it. But actually, we’ve seen similar things with lots of other Bethyl proxy couples.
Tumblr media
The one that first comes to mind is Sasha and Abraham. They had TONS of Bethyl parallels. They did get together and get some time together, though not much. Then Abe was killed off, and Sasha followed him a season later.
There’s also David and Betsy from S6. Admittedly, there were SUPER minor characters, but still.
The other big one is Glaggie. I’m not saying there were tons of Bethyl parallels there, except in the fact that they’re both soulmate couples and both have death fake outs. But the point is, TWD hasn’t exactly shied away from killing off soulmate couples.
So what does that mean for Beth and Daryl?
I’m really not trying to scare or depress anyone. I’m not saying they’re going to kill off either Beth or Daryl after she returns. My point is that pointing at John and June as a soulmate couple and trying to extend this death to Beth and Daryl doesn’t really work. This is just another beloved character fatality, and TWD has given us a LOT of those.
So might they kill Beth or Daryl down the line? I mean, anything’s possible, but I really doubt it. I’ve said this before, but they wouldn’t do all this epic foreshadowing just to pull a Morales, or make them “just another” tragic couple.
Plus, it’s Daryl. His romance was always meant to be epic and I really think they’ll both be standing at the end of the series (including the spinoff) whenever that is. So, it’s not something I worry about.
This was a replay of Grady.
I’ll go into this more tomorrow in my Details post, but there are specific things here that make it clear to me that this is something of a replay of Grady. For today, just look at it this way: we have someone falling off a bridge (Daryl and Carol did so in 5x06) and someone being shot (John and Beth). Walkers are also involved in a big way. The difference is that John dies while we think Beth lived. And we can be confident in that because, as I explained above, her attitude was exactly the opposite of John’s.
Tumblr media
John does not = Beth in this season. Morgan does.
Keep in mind that, as I said above, John because S2 Beth here. He sort of retrogressed into hopelessness, and that’s why he died.
If anyone is a Beth proxy in this season of Fear, it’s Morgan. He’s sort of “come back from the dead,” reinvented himself, is searching for his lost love (Grace) who happens to be pregnant (child/baby symbolism) and in this episode, John even calls him a ghost.
I’m just saying.
Major clarity on the Door symbol, and that’s freaking huge!
Okay, this is the big one for me, and about the only real silver lining of this episode. This is something we’ve been stumped over for a LONG time. Specifically, since they were filming S5.
Review: while filming the lost ‘white cabin’ scenes we know Emily was in for S5, and which we still haven’t seen yet, Steven Yeun posted this.
Tumblr media
It’s a picture from inside that white cabin, and he captioned it with, “Open the door!” but then deleted it. We never understood exactly what that meant. I think most people assumed it was a tease about what might be or what might have happened in that cabin.
But this episode with John is called “The Door.”
They have this whole theme in the episode about how John wants to close himself in his cabin and commit suicide. So, closing the door = death. Opening the door = life.
Tumblr media
My fellow theorists and I have been talking a lot about the cabin symbol as a tomb, since 10x18. We think Leah’s entire cabin represents a tomb. Which not only shows that she might be dead/a hallucination, but it represents Daryl being emotionally dead. Closing himself off to the living and indulging things that aren’t even real.
We’ve seen other examples of this theme as well. In S4, Carol and Ty tried to stay in the little cabin, rather than moving forward to find the others, and it resulted in death (Lizzie killing Mica).
Also in S4, Sasha tried to stop rather than pushing forward. It probably would have resulted in her death. Thankfully, she came around, and that led to her not only living, but reuniting with Tyreese.
@wdway also pointed out that we just recently saw Lucille this. She entombed herself in the basement, shutting the door and leaving a note. And while she was dying of cancer anyway, she didn’t wait for cancer to kill her. She took her own life. So she entombed herself and chose death.
John wanted to do the same thing in this episode. He didn’t get a chance to, but as I discussed above, that’s why he died.
But do you see why this is so significant. Steven posting the cabin with the “open the door!” caption is his way of showing that something about the cabin in how Beth lived.
Opening the door = life.
So while I kind of hated this episode and am super bummed about John, it does shed some light on a lot of the symbolism.
Tomorrow, I’ll talk more about the episode details.
Thoughts?

Top 20 BEST Animated Series of the 2010s-2nd Place
If you’ve been paying attention to Disney’s televised animation, you’d noticed that there’s been a weird trend going on with their shows. Recently, most of Disney’s shows begin as random comedies only to have a deep story to them in later seasons. Some shows soar as they do this right, and others tend to flail as they do it wrong. Personally, I would like to think it’s all because of one show that Disney has made. And since its series finale, the network tries their hardest to replicate it due to how well received it was. And despite the many attempts, no one can do better than--
#2-Gravity Falls (2012-2016)
The Plot: Twin siblings Dipper and Mabel Pines are forced by their parents to spend the summer in Gravity Falls, Oregon. But don’t worry, their parents are not entirely careless. They just sent their only children to spend the summer with their con artist of a great uncle with a deep, dark secret...okay, so they're a little careless. In fact, the parents might be more irresponsible than you think because Gravity Falls isn’t the small backwater town as it seems. Soon enough, Dipper and Mabel will learn that it’s a town with monsters, demons, and a mysterious author who recorded all of the town’s weirdness in his journals. Will the Pines twins solve the town's mysteries, or is their summer going to be over sooner than they thought?
By the way, I FREAKING love this premise! The idea of an entire town being filled with mysteries and monsters is so compelling to me because the possibilities are endless. One episode could be dealing with zombies, and another could be dealing with an entire society dedicated to keeping the town’s weirdness a secret. On top of that, every monster/weird oddity that Dipper and Mable face is just so creative, from a multi-headed bear to even the main antagonist being (and I kid you not) the Illuminati symbol wearing a top hat. And even when the show does use monsters you’ve seen before, they utilize them in a way you wouldn’t have expected. For example, there are two episodes where the characters deal with ghosts. In both scenarios, the methods these ghosts use to haunt the living are not just creative and scary, but in some instances, they can also be kinda funny. There’s just no telling what this show is going to pull off. Or at least, not entirely.
Because another great thing this show has is its mystery element. And I don’t mean just how well it handles mystery within a single episode (although it does that phenomenally too). What I mean is that Gravity Falls has a great overarching mystery that you, the audience, can solve for yourself. With that comes the show’s impressive attention to detail. From the secret codes to solve, to the lines/scenes you wouldn’t have thought twice about, to even a single license plate. That’s right. A single license plate is an essential clue to the show's most significant twist ever. In fact, it’s a twist that fans have solved years in advance due to all the hints that were left within previous episodes. And most of the credit goes to Alex Hirsh and his team. They really put a lot of effort into what many would describe, a kids cartoon. Even though this might just be the most adult kid's cartoon that I have ever seen.
You know how Pixar movies try their darndest to make films suitable for both children and their parents? That’s basically what Gravity Falls does. Whether you’re an adult or child, odds are you will be entertained in nearly every episode because rarely does it feel like an episode leans too far in either direction. If there’s an episode with a serious story, there’s always a silly/lighthearted subplot to keep the kids entertained. And if there’s an episode that is just silly all the way through, there are adult jokes that make you ask, “How the hell did a Disney cartoon get away with that?” Even when the show gets genuinely creepy, it works just perfectly above the line of going too far for kids (except in “Northwest Mansion Mystery." S**t gets real in that episode). Many kid's shows in the 2010s struggled to find this balance, and Gravity Falls is another one of those rare exceptions that somehow feels like it does it without even trying.
And what keeps that balance? The show’s sense of humor, that’s what. Even in the darkest episodes of the series, there is almost a well-placed joke to lighten the mood. And with Gravity Falls, the show relies on four types of humor. Being random, being surreal, being smart, and being dark. And not just dark for a Disney cartoon. I mean that Gravity Falls has a dark sense of humor that I would have expected in something like Rick and Morty (which is fitting because the creators of both shows are actually close friends in real life). As for how funny the jokes are in this series, they. Are. SO. Funny. I’m not kidding when I say that every single episode--and I do mean, every. Single. Episode--has made me laugh at least once. Not even the best comedy shows that I’ve seen have been capable of doing something so spectacular.
But do you want to know why the comedy is so hilarious? And do you want to know what really kept me invested in all 40 episodes? The answer is simple: It’s all because of the characters. Most jokes are funny because the right person said them. I care about the show’s mysteries because the characters make me care about those mysteries. And when the stakes get high, I’m invested because I care about the characters so much that I fear they’ll get hurt. In fact, I was so invested in all of these characters that the series finale made me cry FOUR TIMES due to how heart-wrenching it was. And I don’t weep that often when it comes to specific media. Most of the time, I get a little misty-eyed, and even when it feels like a scene has yanked at my heartstrings, I usually get myself under control before any real tears show up. But with the series finale of Gravity Falls, I was so emotionally invested with this cast that I was tearing up with them as tearful goodbyes were said. This is because Gravity Falls’ writers know that the key to making any story work is to have a great cast of characters. Because it doesn’t matter how epic your plot is. If I’m not invested in the characters winning the day, then I won’t be invested in the story.
Now at this point, you’re probably wondering what is wrong with this show. To that, I say virtually nothing...Okay, that’s not true. There are some problems the show has, but trust me when I say that the good heavily outweighs the bad. Are there occasional continuity errors? Yes. But they’re usually intentional for misdirection or made up with really great attention to detail in other scenes. Are there occasionally bad jokes? Of course. But like I said: EVERY. EPISODE. IS. FUNNY. So who cares if not every joke lands? Are there also a couple bland characters? Obviously. However, they’re either made better in later episodes or forgotten quickly due to even more memorable characters. And now the big one: Are there bad episodes? And there are...in comparison to the show’s usual quality. Even when Gravity Falls is at its “worst,” the writing is still somehow entertaining in its own right. Hell, the real complaint I have involving the series isn’t even about the show itself. It’s about other shows on the network.
Like I’ve said in the beginning, as of late, there has been a lot of modern Disney cartoons trying too hard to be the new Gravity Falls. And they’re all best intentions met with poor execution. The best (or should I say worst) example I can think of is Tangled: The Series, a television series based on Disney’s Tangled. The first batch of episodes was cute, harmless, and downright charming. Then halfway through the first season, it becomes dark, dark, and even darker. And unfortunately, the show’s quality feels like it took a dip with its direction. As for other Disney cartoons, they follow a similar pattern, with the thought that Gravity Falls did the same thing. The problem is that it didn’t. From the very first episode, the show started off by hinting that it isn’t as cute and innocent as it seems. Sure the stories got significantly darker in season two, but they slowly worked their way towards earning that by slowly becoming more dramatic with each episode. And like I said, even at its darkest, the writers still knew when to keep the tone light. So that’s really the only logical problem I have with Gravity Falls: It made people think they need to be more like Gravity Falls.
When I hear that people wish the show was brought back, I honestly don’t get it. The series ended on a perfect note, with very few questions left unanswered. And the unanswered questions were actually answered through other media such as books or comics. And if you ask me, I’d rather have the series come to an end in the way that it did. It had a perfect premise told with fascinating mysteries, funny comedy, infesting characters, and even a kickass theme song (I know that I didn’t mention that last bit, but trust me when I say that it’s so GOOD). Why ruin that by turning it into something like The Simpsons, where a show would just get stale after too many seasons? In the end, while I was sad to see it go, I’m still happy to say that this is always going to be a show that will make you Fall in love with it.
(But the real mystery is: What series is going to top a cartoon that was practically perfect?)
(...)
(Who am I kidding. You’ve probably already figured it out by now.)

if it is not selfish of me to ask, i would like pregnancy headcanons and also parenting headcanons bc i’m SCREAMING 🥺
SO this took about 2/3 days to think and plan out and I even got really excited and even did research efjknefjkfsdnkbsdf
this ended up being more about the actual pregnancy BUT I will totally write more specific to Parents!seamista if anyone wanted me to  🥺
(Putting this under a read more because it’s long as hell snfldfnk)
Okay so from where I last left off in this post, Salineas is now expecting an unexpected heir!
At this point, It’s like I wanna say around ~2/3ish months into everything since I assume she would have found out at around 5 weeks, so they’re at the very end of the first trimester (12 weeks) anyway, Mermista is still nauseous as all hell but for whatever reason I don’t think she’s not going into full vomiting territory and again, big suffering. However, at this point Sea Hawk has taken a leave from adventuring to be there with his girl to support her in whatever she needs- including helping out with some royal duties. Now normally, Mermista would never ever trust him with this level of responsibility but at certain points she just feels so shitty and tired there is literally no other choice but to give the responsibility to someone who’s not her. So sometimes Sea Hawk settles some disputes between citizens and opens a few rebuilt buildings, and attends princess council meetings with Mermista on the other side of one of bow’s tablets. (unrelated, but I found out that the theorized cause of morning sickness would be the body’s reaction to Hcg and since Sea Hawk is (assumed) fully etherian and mermista is like, not I would think she’d have a more adverse reaction to it asjdbjaddansd but again, she’s not like violently throwing up -I think because of her connection to her runestone protecting her from it being as bad as it could be)
Also, Mermista gets real bad mood swings early into the whole endeavor (they eventually go away when the nausea does). Poor Sea Hawk even temporarily stops singing shanties to keep her spirits from dampening. Upon realizing that she made him stop singing she bursts into tears, only to later be soothed by a shanty about how lovely her hair is. Go Figure. To cope with the mood swings, Sea Hawk suggests she pick up knitting again since she loved it so much whenever she first tried it. She’d dropped it whenever the war with Horde prime began since it was so hard to find yarn and to care about generally anything else other than the impending doom. So, mermista picks up knitting again, and holy shit,,, she loves it. Something about just checking out for a while and just concentrating on every stitch and being able to make something beautiful is just. everything she wanted. So throughout the entire 9 months she’s just dropping off random baby blankets, clothes, socks, even a little knitted Sea-Ra doll and a knit Dragon’s Daughter replica into the basket she keeps next to their bed. She even attempts to knit Sea Hawk a bandanna for shits and giggles but he ends up loving it and wears it around Salineas despite the sweltering heat of the summer. Towards the end of it, she gets really complex and knits some beautiful little sweaters that whenever Sea Hawk shows them off to everyone (swift wind and bow) they kind of shyly ask if they can have one. And that’s how the Best Friend squad ends up with matching sweaters.
So in my last post I kinda just said that the doctors/midwife/etc equivalent was the sorcerers on Mystacor and you know what? I stand by that lmao. Anyway so either they have to go up to Mystacor every week or they have a sorcerer come to live in Salineas for the whole pregnancy, either way they use ~magic~ to basically do an ultrasound (again, I literally cannot decide if there’s doctors on etheria??? I don’t know but this is what I’m going with) So anyway. Both of them collectively lose their minds and completely ugly cry whenever they both see the child ™  for the first time, but then evemtually Mermista kinda accepts it and is (mostly) okay whenever they see the baby, but Sea Hawk cries every. Single. Time. It kinda drives Mermista a little mad but it’s so sweet that she can’t get actually upset.  After all, these appointments and all the little things they do to prepare are what he has to really remember they’re bringing a whole new little life onto Etheria.
Something neither of them really expected is the fact that Mermista gets horrible pregnancy brain around 5 months and from then on. It’s never really super debilitating, but for her, and her usual sharp wit and ability to see whatever’s coming next, it gets real annoying real fast. It’s mostly just her forgetting little stuff, like her next appointment with the sorcerer, or when there’s a meeting scheduled, or whenever she has plans with her friends. The worst of it was when it completely slipped her mind that she had a major meeting with the rebuild salineas group and she had to the next week pretending she knew what was going on with all of that. She eventually figures it out, and she and Sea Hawk end up forming a system- the system being that Sea Hawk is with her during all meetings, appointments and important conversation, and he reminds all of the staff when she has a major appointment. However, she still has trouble concentrating and remembering stuff like where she left her trident (next to the bed) and where her earrings went (Sea Hawk actually took those)
Around 7 or 8 months in the princesses (mostly Glimmer’s idea)  throw her a surprise baby shower to not only congratulate her on the baby but to also for the work she had been doing to rebuild and maintain Salineas. They receive so many lovely gifts, but none as lovely as the gift from Sea Hawk himself- He commissioned an absolutely lovely crib decorated with pearls, shells and sea glass and painted with all of Mermista’s favorite Sea Flowers, and little boats with mermaids swimming next to them. And In the middle, in first ones’ writing it read simply “Adventure”. Upon seeing it, Mermista cried for about 20 minutes. and then got upset with him for keeping the shower a secret, realized how sweet it was; then cried again.
Well into her second trimester, and close to the third, Mermista is still on her feet after recovering from the initial nausea of it all and running around to meetings, appointments, and all over the kingdom. Sea Hawk, while he had been trying his best not to be over-protective of her due to her condition, really couldn’t ignore when Mermista collapses on the way to Sea Elf village. When he discovers so and confronts her about it, she confesses that she knows she had been absolutely overdoing it for weeks now, but really really wanted to prove that she could still do all of her princess duties. Not really for anyone else, the war had pretty much proved to everyone how capable she is, but  mostly for herself. Sea Hawk has a long talk with her that he hopes she knows how capable she is, how brave and wonderful and a fantastic leader she has been; but taking care of herself and their child has to come first. Grudgingly, Mermista tells him she had a hard time admitting to herself overdoing it for her meant overdoing it for both of them. They agree that Sea Hawk would become her proxy once again.
Whenever she has to deliver, Sea Hawk is the picture of support. No shanties, drama or anything but pure warmth and empathy. He’s stoic and calm and attentive to everything going on. Mermista actually ends up being the one in (mild) hysterics suddenly completely realizing again that she’s going to be a mother and crying and freaking out about it. It takes Sea Hawk looking sternly into her eyes and reminding her that she’s literally the coolest and most wonderful person ever and also is the great and mighty Sea-Ra. Nothing could keep her absolutely being fantastic at this too. Wasn’t this the most epic adventure they’d ever go on?
and here’s some one sentence hc’s I couldn’t figure out how to fit in here sdjkjksdn;
-They don’t find out the sex beforehand they want to be surprised
- Whenever Mermista goes into her knitting habit, Sea Hawk picks up sewing again, as he had when he was younger and sews toys and clothing for the little one, while Mermista knits. between the two of them, the baby’s wardrobe is almost completely handmade.
- When the due date gets close, Sea Hawk is literally walking on air. Cheery, excited absolutely lovestruck and exhilirated to be so close to being a father.
- In the delivery room, before her freak out, she quietly asks sea hawk if he could tell her some stories of his escapades to distract her whenever the pain gets to be too much to bear. He obliges, and recalls their first time meeting, their first battle together, and loads of other sweet stories that almost drive her to tears again (god, she’s so excited to not cry every 2 minutes)
- Spinnerella and Netossa, and even Micah give their baby some hand me down toys and clothing. It’s the sweetest gesture.
safbjkbsdfkbjsdf this is so long if you read all the way down here thank you so much

kuroo, oikawa, and suga's fav books? headcanons for the first year boys hufflepuff dorms (so hinata and kageyama's dorm)? headcanons for tendou and ushijima's relationship in All in the Cards? also, have oikawa/hinata met the other's Fate (tendou/ushi), and what do they think of them? are they even aware that the other has a Fate?
Hey, these are all such cool questions. Sorry, this one has taken a bit for me to answer almost entirely because I could not think of a single book that would be Kuroo, Oikawa, and Suga’s favorite--for a large part because Kuroo and Suga weren’t raised in the Muggle world so are unlikely to have Muggle books as their favorite (except maybe ones Suga had to read for Muggle Studies) and Oikawa has had limited interaction (only summers) with the Muggle world since he was eleven. With that, I’ll try to answer type/ genres of readers I think they are.
Gonna be long so I’m putting it under a read more
Hq at Hogwarts
Kuroo, Oikawa, and Suga's favorite books/ genre?
Kuroo is the type of person who just really likes knowing a bit about everything and being able to show off/ surprise people with random facts. He’s 1,000% the type of kid who read the magical equivalent of thesauruses and random fact books when he was young and was super smug when he brought up a fact that his dad didn’t know. For fiction, I think he’d like epic dramas, specifically ones with dramatic monologues and smart heroes that were able to trick the system. The magical equivalence of Count of Monte Cristo, the Scarlet Pimpernel, and V for Vendetta would probably be his favorites for fiction.
Oikawa once he got to Hogwarts (and before with the limited amount of books he can find) heavily enjoys magical theory books--it’s really, really important to him to know how his magic and the magical world works. I’d say he’s hardcore the most voracious reader of the series (Kuroo being a close second). With that, without growing up in the magical world, he’s really not particularly good at being able to tell what’s common knowledge and what’s not which he finds particularly irritated. For him, I really think he does focus primarily on non-fiction theory and application books; but, I think when he was a kid he probably had a few favorite books generally in modern fantasy, sci-fi, or magical realism (Matilda, E.T., Jurassic Park, Ender’s Game)
Suga is the definition of a secret goth in his book taste. I think Suga really does enjoy a good horror book and especially if it focuses on psychological horror themes or the fallibility of man. If he ever got exposed to them in Muggle Studies or if the Wizarding World had an equivalent, he would absolutely love Poe’s short stories (esp. Fall of the House of Usher, Mask of the Red Death, the Tell Tale Heart). He’d also like the wizarding equivalence of those creepy short stories that stay with you (”The Lottery” by Shirley Jackson, “All Summer in a Day” by Ray Bradbury) Of these three characters, I think Suga would be the one that enjoys fiction the most.
Headcanons for Kageyama and Hinata’s dorm?
1.) The chill, friendly dorm by far. So, this dorm is like Hinata, Kageyama, Inuoka, Shibayama, Sakunami who are all just ridiculously nice people. In contrast to Yamaguchi’s dorm, this dorm is the kind that’s just like “oh, well, it looks like Kageyama and Hinata are gone again, they’re either involved in something dangerous or probably playing Quidditch.” Smiles. “Oh, well, hope it’s Quidditch”. They just go with the flow by now and doesn’t let it stop their weekly games of gobstones.
2.) Dorm most likely to forget snacks in their dorms over the summer and get a lecture from Takeda about making work for the elves.
3.) Most of them have a tendency to be kind of messy, even Sakunami. The exception is actually Hinata, who is the cleanest about shared living spaces due to legitimately living almost his entire life sharing rooms either at Hogwarts or the orphanage. A+ roommate Shouyou Hinata....except for being loud and getting up way too freaking early.
4.) With that, Inuoka and Hinata are the early birds of the group and the rest of them despise them for this fact.
Cards
Headcanons for Tendou and Ushijima's relationship in All in the Cards?
1.) Centuries and centuries of Tendou trying and sometimes succeeding in getting Ushijima to make bad decisions. Oikawa hardly stood a chance at getting Ushijima to budge on anything, Tendou is a master at finding the right buttons to push....which Ushijima secretly appreciates.
2.) Way, way too chill about letting the other do absolutely whatever method they want without any interference. Ushijima thinks it an appropriate measure to almost start a decade long battle of bureaucratic paper work to fix a minor tax loophole that used the wrong verb tense a few centuries earlier? Yeah, Tendou’s fine with that, whatevs, have fun. Tendou thinks it would be funny to collapse a bridge in the middle of a snowstorm in front of a horse that just lost its shoe in order to delay a message going from a soldier to his wife who happens to work at a bakery that just happens to be the favorite breakfast place of a squire that just happens to work for a knight who happens to be looking for his squire to relieve him of guard duty when he just happens to be momentarily blinded by the sun and not notice  when all of the palace curtains were suddenly swapped to the worst, most awful shade of nauseous orange that anyone had ever witnessed? No, Ushijima’s good as long as Tendou was making the most of his day...and the orange is Tendou’s favorite color.
....cannot stress enough that Ushijima and Tendou really do not have normal human sensibilities in this series.
Have Oikawa or Hinata met the other's Fate and what do they think of them? are they even aware that the other has a Fate?
Nope, they are completely unaware that any one else alive has ever personally met a Fate (it really is exceedingly rare) and no one they’ve mentioned it to (Iwaizumi for Oikawa and Tsukishima for Hinata) has quite believed them because it really does sound kind of crazy.
Whelp, that’s what I got this time! Hope you enjoyed them!

oh god i played 11 hours of ff15 today
so huh. that was a trip.
I mostly did sidequest in the 3/4 of it, which was fun and all, and theeeen i moved to the main plot and. man. things go down in such a way it’s completely gamechanging.
Highlight of the stream was me freaking out every two seconds against Titan like. I don’t think anything could have prepared me for what a ride that’d be.
the other Highlight must have been me going “ooooh nonononono” when Ardyn shows up again to lead us there a ha ha haah
anyway the moment i was caught in the main story plot i couldn’t look away and i just kept going with the main plot, at this point i worry for the sidequests bc i don’t know how i can return to ff15: camping simulator after “the Epic of the Gods” started getting serious.
But yeah also i’m amazed by the scale of the game like... man. The battles and all. I remember when i saw the trailers i thought it was overwhelming and it was the main reason i didn’t know if i should play ff15 - between the open world and the big battles, it felt Too Big, Too Much.
but now that i’m into it, it’s just a matter of taking it one step at a time, and for the big battles, well, they’re confusing and bloodpumping but in the best way possible and i don’t recall ever having such a thrill doing battles in video games like this (but also i really played like 5 RPG so lol)
It’s also wild because i’ve loved the Chocobros ever since the promo materials and so i was  always anxious about getting into the game since i know how the story ends. But now that i’m really into it, i’ve fell in love with all four of them, and  it is really making it dawn on me that the ending is going to destroy me. They were showing concern for each other earlier and i started crying knowing what it would lead to... man.
Anyway i stopped right after the Rahmut’s dungeons (met Naga. charming... charming character). and now i’m at the camp right before trying to retrieve the Regalia, but i’m stopping here for tonight else i don’t know when i’ll stop.
(oh i guess it doesn’t hurt to drop it but the main story i’ve played is on this specific video from 1:52:39 and onward to the end of that stream at 3:40:11. so it’s mostly two hours or so of me freaking out over the main story dLKJFDF)
Anyway it’s 4am and the people on the stream with me kindly didn’t realize it <3 so i went a little overboard... 11 hours straight of gaming..... But it was really fun and it was nice sharing it with those who were here, so thanks again for sticking around o7
Anyway it’s a good cue to go to sleep now o7 but i had a BLAST.
