#i could honestly list 20 movies.... like most of the classic barbie movies. a lot of older disney movies...#some 2010s teen comedies like Wild Child and Saint Trinians... i love these two...#my top comfort movies used to be La La Land and The Fault in our stars for years sdjlsdjf i had an emo phase#for tv shows id say mostly the first 3... like ive watched bones and suits a BILLION TIMES START TO FINISH#i debated putting spn in there but i only rewatched it completely once. it was a comfort show when it was ongoing but i didn't care->#-> that much after it finished#there are also a couple of new shows i really like but i didn't put them there bc idk if theyre gonna become comfort shows but#i really loved watching Only murders in the building :((((( cant wait for next season#also Blue eye samurai... literally has been living in my head rent free since i binged it like a week ago or so#im lowkey embarrassed abt the bonus show but... yeah. i know the concept is super weird but... theo james <3#i swear me having only 2 white actor crushes who are both british IS A COINCIDENT (the other is henry cavil (mostly as geralt))#no one believes me...#anyway. i will shut up now <3#tag game#mentions

there was a post going around that was like, what is a game you were obsessed with as a kid but no one talks about today.. and i know this literally doesn't count but it FEELS like it to me... i feel like i never see anyone talk about terraria unless i go actively looking for it 😭
#like is it just that most everyone i follow doesnt or hasnt played it#it's the 9th most sold game ... according to wikipedia#if that's not accurate rn then it's definitely top 20.#the terraria vs minecraft thing back in 2010s or whenever was so funny. it was akin to digimon vs pokemon#ok we are comparing two pretty different games with a few shared things that makes people immediately go who did it better ?#like they are very different.....LOL i didnt play digimon but

MAX-IMUM ATTACK
2017 Season

Monday lunchtime, Heathrow Terminal 5. Standing next to the slowly revolving baggage carousel, a fresh-faced, slightly awkward-looking - just out of his teens - young man is awaiting the arrival of his chattels.
Dressed in bland black trainers, similarly hued skinny jeans and an oversized hoody, this Young Turk ain’t winning any style awards. iPhone in hand, he’s busy swiping the screen in that head-bowed social media style billions of us now ‘enjoy’.
Max Verstappen doesn’t really do flash. He couldn’t look more ‘normal’. Yet put him in a racing car and he’s just about the most special talent to arrive on motor racing’s top step for decades.
Schumacher-esque – Michael of course! – is a term increasingly heard up and down the F1 paddock, such is the impact the Netherlands’ premier sportsman is now making.
I can see it too.
The fresh-faced 16-year-old boy who was, upon his arrival, so ignorantly dismissed by many within the sport is rapidly becoming a man. It’s amazing how quickly young sportsmen living life in the public gaze assume adulthood. Just take a look at Sebastian Vettel. The gawky kid of 2009 became the handsome dude of 2010!
What sets the potentially great apart from the mediocre? What makes Max Verstappen so, so much more special than, say, Carlos Sainz?
I guess it’s the whole package: the look; the mien; the steely character honed to be a racer almost from before he could walk; the utterly uncompromising way he dismisses any questioning of his racecraft; the toys-out-of-the-pram reaction to harsh penalties; the fast straight-out-of-the-box attacking style; and the rapier-like overtaking ability, the like of which we haven’t seen for many a year. Such was Max’s impact on the art of passing and defending, the rules had to be rewritten!
The way the car looks through the turns, the application of throttle, steering and immensely late braking. Metronomic in his blisteringly fast lap time delivery, this boy has the lot. He IS the future of Formula 1.
In so, so many ways – but let’s hope not all – Max is the new MSC.
Racing in an aggressive and forceful style often results in on-track contretemps with some of his more seasoned rivals. No matter, Max takes no prisoners, batting away questions about the legality of some of his racing moves with a dismissive arrogance that’s strangely appealing in its delivery.
Up to speed now and surely making Dan Ricciardo question his team-leading abilities, Verstappen is unquestionably Red Bull’s main man.
Off-track too, Max is sorted. Guided by his F1-experienced father, the young Verstappen has an able and well-qualified navigator at the helm. Learning from his own ill-advised 1990s F1 driving career decisions, Jos pays absolute attention so as to ensure his son maximises the opportunities on offer.
With top-drawer drivers in short supply, Red Bull had better make damned sure their 2019-and-beyond engine supply is top-notch. The bidding war for Max’s signature is already in full swing. Ferrari and Mercedes are enviously eyeing the Dutchman’s abilities with covetous desire.
It’s easy to forget that Max is only 20 years old. Way ahead in racing driver maturity - a relative term! – than so many millions of a similar age, Max has appeared mentally developed beyond his years since first he appeared in the F1 paddock at Spa 2014. It struck me then how entirely capable this 16-year-old boy was dealing with multiple language questions and untold camera lenses. Listening to his interrogator politely before answering calmly and intelligently, Max appeared born to the role…
Fast forward to now and Verstappen is a multiple grand prix winner and 2018 title-chasing challenger. Part of the new breed of F1 racers, Max leads the pack. Publicly respectful of his rivals, although privately dismissive of many, he well knows his place among the potentially great.
Michael Schumacher once opined – in an interview I photographed – that his father had advised him to heed well the arrival on the scene of the next great talent. The one who’d challenge and quickly replace the dominant male. Well, Lewis, Sebastian and Fernando, that man has arrived.
You’d best heed Herr Schumacher’s words well…

Top: in Super Mario Bros., obtaining 10 or more lives will cause the life counter to behave oddly. The first digit will become a sprite of a crown and the second digit will behave normally from 10 to 19 lives (being Crown-0 for 10, Crown-1 for 11 etc.), but will become glitched and go through all the graphical tiles in the game after 20 lives (the counter in the screenshot is showing 109 lives). Given this behavior, it is easy to assume that the life counter is completely broken and that no part of this was intentional.
Bottom: in a 2010 interview with the game’s director Shigeru Miyamoto, composer Koji Kondo and programmer Toshihiko Nakago, it was revealed that the crown sprite was actually intentional and was specifically requested by Miyamoto to be placed in the game, which was done at the very end of development. As such, the life counter in the game is a unique combination of intentional odd behavior (the crown appearing at 10 lives) and unintentional odd behavior (the second digit becoming glitched).

Yn Yln has been making her mark in the industry.
From detailed writing on fashion pieces to analyzing the newest models of F1 cars, Yn Yln is racing through the internet.
Yln told the BBC it was her bursting of emotions that first got her to write.
Her love of fashion was what started her journey. She put up her first blog up in 2010 titled “Layering”. Yln showcased several ways to style for the winter which skyrocketed her blog.
She then wrote about the racing sport. Yln mentioned a friend of hers raced and that is where her writing started to flourish.
“He just got me really interested in the sport that I couldn’t go a week without writing whether Hamilton got a win or modifications had been made to the sport.”
The writer got her first issue in Vogue out this May 11th. The issue was about her sister, Kylie Yln, and her entrepreneurship.
But while she has achieved much beyond her years, Yln has much more ahead of her. She continues to help the writing industry advance and flourish.

charles_leclerc I remember watching Formula 1 being younger and dreaming of one day being part of it. I can't believe this day has arrived and that I will be racing with Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team for the 2018 Formula 1 World Championship. I am hugely thankful to all the people who have been involved in my path to Formula 1.
A special thought to my father that did absolutly everthing for me to get there and to Jules that also helped me massively, I wish you two were here to see that but l'm sure you will follow me from up there.

Charles Leclerc explains reasons behind #16 F1 number choice

Since he was young, Leclerc has been dreamt of his future in being an F1 driver, as well as his future number.
The 20 year old driver explains it has always been the number he was going to pick.
“There is too much emotional connection for me to not pick this number. I hold this number deep in my heart and the person who helped me achieve everything, is mainly the reason. I hope to do the number well and give it justice.”
He has yet to specify who he is talking about but fans would guess a close friend.

it was nerve shaking for both yn and charles to come into the paddock knowing the other would be there but they both walked in with confidence.
with charles in his rookie season, many interviewers were trying to get his input on it. he searched the faces for that one (y/h/c) but proceeded to answer questions while walking.
as he started to leave the group, he had the urge to turn around. and when he did, he was met with those (y/e/c) and nostalgia.
the interviewers started to disperse, getting in his line of vision for a moment before they were focues on her.
this was his second shot and he was not going to waste it.

1930s Loookbook
After the roaring 20s, fashion became more conservative in the 1930s, with hair and hemlines getting longer again. The era was defined by the great depression, after the stock market crashed in 1929, and lasted through almost the whole decade. Many families during this time began making dresses from flour sacks, and so companies began printing textiles on the sacks for extra reusability. Despite the decade's widespread poverty, fashion themes of femininity and elegance prevailed, inspired by Hollywood stars like Joan Crawford.

“Max,” Daniel calls to him from the bedroom, just as he is rinsing the shampoo from his hair. Not wanting shampoo in his eyes or his mouth, Max keeps them all firmly shut.
“Baby?” Daniel says again, louder.
The warm water is a gentle relief running over his sweat sticky skin, nowhere near the scalding temperatures Daniel sets their shower to at home. It’s why Max had insisted that they clean off separately, the Austin heat far too much for Max to endure boiling water too, despite Daniel’s pouting and dramatic insistence that Max couldn’t just ‘fuck and flee.”
“Yes,” he calls when all the suds are safely sliding past his shoulders, but he didn’t need to shout. When he opens his eyes he sees Daniel leaning against the doorway with a smirk, still wearing his unbuttoned satin shirt, cowboy hat and nothing else. His wedding ring sits heavy on his finger, and Max thumbs over the matching one on his own hand.
Max’s come is a shiny presence he can still see smeared between Daniel’s thighs.
The sight of him makes Max’s dick twitch. Daniel notices and his grin only widens.
“Baby,” he says again, too sweet. “Baby, why is your most recent Google search is it weird that my husband saying yeehaw makes me come?”
And just like that, Max suddenly longs for a hot shower, an excuse for why his cheeks start to burn red.
“Why are you snooping through my phone?” He demands, forcing himself not to turn away casually and instead keep rubbing the hotel’s own body wash under his armpits.
“I wasn’t snooping,” Daniel says easily, “I was looking to get us some ribs delivered, my phone died at the track, remember?”
Max makes a noncommittal noise because vaguely he does remember Daniel saying he needed to put it on charge. That was before Max started pawing at him the moment the hotel door shut behind them though, and then it had been forgotten by both of them.
There’s just the noise of the extractor fan whirring for a moment, but Daniel doesn’t move. When Max sneaks a glance at him, he’s still leaning against the door frame looking amused.
“Sooo.” He drawls out the word in the stupid Texas accent that Max wishes he didn’t find so strangely sexy. “Are we going to talk about this, little lady, or-“
“Nope,” Max says firmly, turning off the shower.
Daniel nods. It makes the lights of the bathroom catch on his chain and Max- Max really wants to fuck him again.
“What about the one below it?” He asks, “Daniel Ricciardo Austin 2023 photos?”
“Nope,” Max says again, stepping out of the shower and reaching for his towel. He’s smiling now too, because he knows that beneath Daniel’s teasing that one will have made him happy to see.
“Okay,” Daniel says, then he unlocks Max’s phone. “What about how to ask my husband to-“
“Daniel,” Max interrupts, taking the phone from his hand and putting it into the empty sink. “Do you want to read more of my internet history, or do you want to get back on the bed and play good cowboy, bad cowboy again?”
Daniel grins, takes the cowboy hat from his head and puts it onto Max’s. When his arms wind around Max, the silky fabric of his shirt presses cool against Max’s shower-warm skin, his nipples.
“Well, when you put it like that,” Daniel says, leaning in to put his mouth on the skin just beneath Max’s ear. “Yeehaw, baby.”
Max laughs and pinches Daniel’s ass, at the same time as his dick twitches again. Backing him out of the bathroom, towards the bed, his phone is forgotten in the bathroom.
Google never had all the answers when it came to them, anyway.

A rivalry is more than head to heads or titles won. Here's a thread of why the Federer-Nadal rivalry (2004-2022) is considered one of the greatests and most unique in sports history:
Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are mirror opponents. A once in a century jackpot with two style of play at the opposite ends of the sports' techniques. In terms of athlete's posture, they are eerily of the exact same height and weight, yet Federer is a right-handed player with a one-handed backhand and Nadal is a left-handed player with a two-handed backhand. Federer portrayed the elegant, fast-paced serve and volley style of the past decade whereas Nadal introduced innovative heavy groundstrokes, topspin, and defensive baseline plays. They encapsulated the progress of the sports' development and their matches popularised tennis to unprecedented heights.
Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are the respective best at their dominant surfaces. They both stil hold world records for most Grand Slam titles on grass (Federer with 8 Wimbledons) and on clay (Nadal with 14 French Opens), respectively dubbed King of Grass and King of Clay. From 2006 to 2008, they played every single Wimbledon and French Open finals against each other.
Roger Federer was the undisputed current world number one since 2004. He admitted he almost lost his passion for the game due to lack of competition until Nadal became the first to beat him in a grand slam final. They became the only pair in history to share the top two year end rankings for 6 years, from 2005 to 2010 and 2017. In their own words, they were each other's biggest motivations to achieve greatness.
Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal were the first to dominate the sports consistently for over a decade, ending the era of one or two odd times Grand Slam winners. Together they won consecutive majors from 2005 to 2007, 2008 to 2009, and 2017 to 2018. Their dominance kickstarted what was dubbed the 'golden era of tennis'.
As tournament seedings are based on rankings, their 40 matches were tournament quarters, semis, and finals, with the all time record of 9 Grand Slam finals. They were each other's partners in the worst and best moments of their careers.
They played what is considered by most tennis analysts as the greatest tennis match in history: The Wimbledon final of 2008 for 4 hours and 48 minutes.
They were leaders of the game from the background, being president and vice president of the players' council for more than 10 years with both only agreeing to join if the other's participating.
They have played countless charity matches to support each other's foundations. In 2020 they broke the world record together, with their exhibition in Africa attracting the highest ever attendance in a tennis match.
Known for their sportmanships, Nadal has openly expressed that he cried of happiness when Federer won his first ever French Open (Nadal's best tournament), whilst Federer expressed his wish to have a draw match and shared his 2017 Australian Open with Nadal.
Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are two of the most successful, consistent, and longstanding tennis players of all time, playing more than 25 years of professional tennis with a record of 42 Grand Slams between them. Many have not known the sport without them, they are representative of a generation.
Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal remain close friends after almost 20 years of facing each other on court, having stated their friendship as the proudest milestone of their rivalry. As per his personal wish, Federer will retire playing doubles alongside Nadal in his last ever competitive tennis match.

The Gaza Monologues: Audio Production in Solidarity with Palestine!
The Gaza Monologues is a collection of testimonies from Gazan youth in 2010, after the first war on Gaza, collected and adapted for stage by ASHTAR Theatre in Ramallah (@ASHTARTheatre), and performed here by 26 people from several countries for International Day of Solidarity with Palestinian People on November 29, 2023. In lieu of copyright purchases, ASHTAR Theatre requests donations to their programs in the West Bank.
This is an audio-only production of The Gaza Monologues, but is posted as a video to include subtitles. Most monologues are in English, but there are two in Arabic, two in Spanish, and one in French. English subtitles are available for all monologues. Currently, subtitles in Arabic, Spanish, and French are only up for the monologues that are spoken in each respective language, though we’ll try to get subtitles up for others in the near future. The script of The Gaza Monologues is available in those languages and more.

Storage Sphere 001 and the “-RECOLOR” files are BOTH REQUIRED for recolors to work – this set includes 30 color options. You also need the BB_Niche1_Master (BuggyBooz, 2012) and Element TXTR Repository from the Repository Pack (Simmons, 2023).

5-Story Storage Spheres 001 and 002 (3004 poly) - click on the BASE of Storage Sphere 1 to recolor it.
Storage Filler Material (638 poly) – make sure it is facing in the same direction as Sphere 001 and placed on the same tile.
**Poly counts are semi-high due to meshing issues but limiting placement to 1-2 per lot should minimize the risk of pink flashing. Mind your system settings!

BUILDING TIPS (suggested methods)
Build an octagon (20 tiles across, 19 tiles front-to-back) with sides of alternating lengths of 6 and 7 tiles respectively. Going clockwise, the front side should be 7 tiles across, the next should be 6 tiles across…and so on.
Once you’ve got 8 sides, add doors and/or windows to the center tile on the sides which are 7 tiles across. Use these entrances to get sims in and out of the building. Finally, place the Industrial Storage Cylinder on the tile directly in front of the front door/window. Add other details as needed.
For the Industrial Storage Spheres, you can build a functional catwalk between them. Place at least two, making sure the sides with the opening in the top gate and floor supports are facing one another.
Using columns, walls, etc., build up to the sixth floor, then add floor tiles and fencing.

You Are Being Lied to About the IRS
The IRS is set to receive its largest funding increase in years thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act.
You know who should be worried about this?
Wealthy Americans who dodge taxes.
Recent figures estimate that the richest 1 percent are hiding more than 20 percent of their earnings from the IRS, accounting for more than a third of all unpaid federal taxes.
Some estimates show that collecting all unpaid federal income taxes from the wealthiest Americans could generate anywhere from $200 billion to $1.75 trillion over the decade.
So why hasn’t our government been able to collect all that untaxed money from the richest of the rich? Because the IRS has been underfunded and severely understaffed – thanks in large part to a decades-long campaign from Republicans to transfer wealth to the top.
Over the past 10 years, the IRS budget has been reduced by roughly 20%. Its staffing is at a level not seen since 1973 although the American population is about a third larger now.
On top of that, the tax returns of the wealthy are very difficult, time consuming, and incredibly costly to audit – and rich taxpayers often have platoons of lawyers and accountants that shield them from tax liabilities.
Without proper resources, it’s harder for the IRS to go after the wealthiest Americans who avoid paying their fair share.
As a result, just 2% of the richest Americans had their taxes audited in 2019, down from 16% in 2010.
Meanwhile, the poorest Americans – who often claim a tax break known as the earned income tax credit – are five times more likely to get audited because their tax returns are less complex, and because of pressure from congressional Republicans to root out incorrect payments of the credit.
When the IRS can’t function properly, all taxpayers aren’t off the hook evenly – and the result is a tax system stuck in a cycle where the working class bears the brunt while the rich hoard wealth that could be used to invest in America.
So, don’t believe the lies coming from the oligarchs and their propaganda machine– it’s all fear mongering. The 1% have an incentive to keep the IRS hobbled and unable to excavate their hidden wealth.
They also know the public is against them – boosting the IRS budget to strengthen tax enforcement on high-income taxpayers is a popular policy supported by more than two-thirds of registered voters.
IRS funding is a good thing. It means the agency can finally go after the real freeloaders in America: The super-rich.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Tsukihime remake takes place later than it was originally set, right? Do you think that is better than having it remain in the early 2000s/late 90s?
Correct. The original Tsukihime was set in 2000, while the Remake is set in the 2010s (I believe it was 2014).
Rather than "better or worse", I think the Tsukihime Remake couldn't have been set at the turn of the century anymore. Nasu's said before about how he's a very different person now from the person that originally wrote Tsukihime, living in a small apartment with Takeuchi working multiple jobs to support them both and having no money or fame to their names at all.
I believe that setting the Remake in the exact same setting, with Nasu attempting to recreate from memory what he made during a time that was certainly full of bad memories, would have just led to a worse version of Tsukihime.
The Remake doesn't just show Nasu's growth as a writer like giving Arcueid more agency or fleshing out the once bare-bones Church, it also shows you how Nasu's own thoughts have changed with the times. Remake Shiki is even more melancholic than the original, prone to rambling about things like how the internet has truly changed society by making a world where everyone is connected to each other 24/7, but it's also made teenagers lonelier even when more people than ever are at reach of their fingertips. The original Shiki talked up a lot about treasuring life, but Remake Shiki muses about the experience of living, how children these days can no longer dream when the life path of a student has never felt more rigid, and yet there still is something fun and joyful in physically being among other people, even as you all go through the motions day to day.
Even Shiki and Aoko's meeting has been changed with the new setting. Unlike Tsukihime, the Mahoyo VN kept the original Mahoyo's setting of 1989. This means that in the original Tsukihime, Shiki would have met Aoko at 20 (they meet in 1992), and Shiki's beloved sensei was only a couple years away from the brash, impulsive, temperamental, and wildly irresponsible Aoko that we see in Mahoyo. She would have barely been an adult when she changed Shiki's life forever.
The Remake however, moves their meeting to 2006, where Aoko would be 34. Not only does her maturity and influence on Shiki make a lot more sense, it also represents Nasu's own matured experience as a writer.
Tsukihime was Nasu's first real commercial hit as a writer, and back then the 20 year old Aoko would have been just like Nasu at the time if he were to help out a novice—Someone young and raw, still in the middle of finding themselves but passing on words of advice to someone even younger. By the time of writing the Tsukihime Remake however, Nasu has long since risen to the top, with a veritable library of acclaimed works under his belt and close to the entire otakusphere passingly familiar with a certain swordswoman of his creation.
So to better reflect that, Aoko would have had to be older, someone who has already lived long enough that they can look back on being a kid with fresh eyes. There's a reason why Aoko's influence on Shiki is emphasized even more in the Remake than in the original, the words Shiki takes to heart were spoken by an Aoko that had already lived it.
