Confession, as a DC Comics Fan:

I don't like the shippings Damian Wayne had over the years. Not anymore, at least.

For awhile, I've been seeing a TON of Damian Wayne stuff related to ships on the internet. From big ones like Damirae or Damijon to smaller ships like Damian x Cassie or Damian x Djinn or Damian X Emiko. Then there was Damian and Flatline (or Nika) that became recently canon in the comic run, Lazarus Tournament (check it out, I think its cool). These ships had a fair share of fans and I've been one of them.

Until... I eventually grew out of it. Why?

Cause as I grew older, I'm getting a change of taste and a refreshed perspective of things, you know? So, with how much research I gather from Damian's character and these ships, opinions change. Some I lost likeness than I usually did. Some I got bored with overtime. Some, I just didn't care for as much. Lemme clarify, I still think some ships are likable than others, especially their dynamics with Damian as a character. But when I look between the characters he interacts with and their histories... It kinda makes me wonder... Does it really work? Are they worth it?

First, lemme start with the demon birds: Damirae. Damian x Raven. This was the first Damian Wayne shipping I discovered as a fan of the DC Animated Movie Universe. I watched JLVSTT (terrible title) to TT:JC to Apokolips War and ultimately... I was hooked. These characters could relate and they had such heartfelt and bittersweet tragic terms with the storyline. I cried when they shared their first AND final kiss (don't judge, I'm sensitive, 😭). This ship was my first and I fell in love with it! Plus, these characters have always been and will always BE my favorite in any DC storyline.

As I got older and learned more about them in other continuities, I grew a change of philosophy... I DON'T THINK IT WORKS. Hold on! Before Damirae fans explode! Hear me out. I see the appeal. They're similar in experience and personality, the idea of Damian, being the Grandson of the Demon's Head, dating a literal demon sounds cool (even if Rae wasn't originally a demon-). There's a lot in terms of age and direction with storylines I can see being a problem. Though, from how I see things and I say this from personal experience; similarities will not always be great in relationships. Their personalities just don't bounce each other off well for me. Additionally, I feel like some fanfics between this ship just don't do their characters justice. In a short question I've had with another user, I can say, I agree that some fans interpret this romance like a demon x angel dynamic. Like, Damian being into taking over the world while Raven is easily swayed on joining such pursuit. While the idea is... interesting, it does bug me a bit. It doesn't suit well with their characterization in my eyes. Plus, I feel like in other continuities, Raven, in character, would either,

1. Not like his personality.

2. Act as some sort of sympathetic sibling/mentor to him.

Honestly, number two sounds more fun and has potential in my eyes. 💜

Second, the one and only super sons; Damijon. Damian X Jon. These two are my ✨ world ✨. I've followed up with their comic storyline through YouTube (I have yet to snatch the comics-) and WOW they are just so, SO entertaining to watch! Jonathan Kent was super adorable (get it?)! Damian was a little troll but I love it! The movie was also spot on — the animation, the writing, the characters, the moments were just dynamite pure! I will love these two with a passion till the day I die! However, as much as I love these boys in all my heart and soul, I DO NOT ship them. It's cute but I just don't see them being anything more than friends, to be honest. 🦸

Third, the recent grave birds: Damiline. Damian X Flatline. OMG, I liked Flatline! I thought she was so cool! Not to mention, her power to absorb the abilities of warriors she's killed has so much potential. Sure, there were times when I thought moments of her were unnecessary or annoying, but she definitely caught my eye because she was just that fun! Her relationship with Damian was... interesting enough. I do feel like the romance was there because they were in a literal death tournament... if you know what I mean. It felt rushed. Plus, she kinda betrayed him later on. I'm surprised we didn't get a reaction from Damian to this too. Eventually, I looked into Flatline's solo issue in New Evolution. I feel like this issue in particular is where Flatline considers Damian as an afterthought. It was also this line that stood out the most for me — "We'll see how long that lasts". This could mean their relationship may one day end short. And I believe Flatline is just as aware of this too. BUT. I don't think this is a bad thing. It could allow opportunities for her to develop without always being in a romantic role. I like the character, I just don't see this working for too long. It feels like the writers were trying to throw a goth x goth romance for the sake of the plot. 💀

I hear Flatline's coming back, though! I'm excited to see her return!

Fourth, Damian X Cassie Sandsmark (Wonder Girl). This originated from the DCeased storyline, where the world suffered a zombie-like apocalypse thanks to Cyborg bringing the Anti-Life Equation to Earth. Though... To me, she just seemed like another "Jonathan Kent" best friend, than anything else. Probably just me. If there were more interactions, maybe I'll reconsider. 🦸

Fifth, Damian X Djinn. Now, I thought this had potential. They did seem genuine with each other and had nice conversations. Though, if the pedophile part wasn't involved (Djinn being an immortal deity), I'd probably give it a chance. But I don't really ship it because of that fact. 😓 🧞‍♀️

And finally, Damian X Emiko Queen (Red Arrow). I don't see much appeal to this ship. They had similarities, sure, but... that's about it. Damian just had a brief "stalker-crush" and that was gone. So, not much to be said there. Like I mentioned before, if there were more interactions between them, maybe I'll consider. For now, it's not for me. 🏹

This will be where my confession comes to an end. These are my thoughts and opinions. You guys don't have to agree with me but that's just how I see these ships regarding Damian Wayne as a character. Arguments are welcome in the comments. I'm fascinated by these juicy conversations!

Ralph Breaks the Internet Review/Rant

When I first watched this film in 2018, I thought it was fairly decent. I was glad to finally see Wreck it Ralph again after 6 years. But even then, I still found it a disappointment from the first one. I hated how they did Ralph and Vanellope and I hated that Felix and Calhoun were barely in the film. Over the years, after reflecting more on this film, I realized that I might've been a bit too nice to it. So, I rewatched it again. And... yeah, it's pretty mediocre. It's still a fun time, especially for kids, but I wouldn't recommend it if you don't want it to ruin your love for the first one. I couldn't even watch the first one for years after watching this trainwreck.

This is going to be longer than some of my previous reviews because I have a LOT to say about this film, including spoilers. But you can always scroll down to the overall section if you want to see a concise version of this review.

Story

The film starts off nice. Ralph and Vanellope just hanging out in other games and talking. But, by the time the conflict comes around, the story becomes ass. Ralph and Vanellope break Sugar Rush by fucking around with a new race track Ralph created. They go through the Internet on a rollercoaster ride (using teleportation would make more sense). Then, they end up accidentally bidding 27,000 dollars for a new part at Ebay. So, now they have to gather up 27,000 dollars in 24 hours before the part expires when they could just wait for the item to expire and then re-bid. (Seriously, this whole movie wouldn't have happened if Ralph and Vanellope hadn't been idiots).

It doesn't matter, though, because Ralph somehow gets instant internet fame by making cringy youtube (called buzztube when youtube exists in that world for some reason) jokes and being a real life person somehow (that no one questions), ok. Why do we need a movie about the Internet with two characters from a movie about video games?

There are some cool concepts with the Internet, like the little avatars walking all over the place, the spamming, and Miranda Sings getting her ass kicked off by Ralph breaking her Internet. But then, there are also a lot of unnecessary Internet references. We see Google, Amazon, Twitter (with all the birds retweeting one post, like you could've had other posts instead of just retweets), Snapchat (which is an app), and Oh My Disney, which is just 5 unnecessary minutes of Disney kissing their own ass.

I will, however, say that the parody with the Disney princesses, the I Want songs, and how Vanellope interacts with the princesses (an atypical Disney princess, so you can imagine how well they bounce off of each other) is funny. The only problem is, they're just wrapped up in this terrible story. Like, if they kept the video game concept and they had something like Disney Infinity being one of the more wholesome games Ralph would send Vanellope to and then they meet the Disney princesses in there, that would be better.

The emotional scenes are just shit. Like, I can't NOT mention the contrived comment scene, the whole theme about friendship, and Vanellope glitching when she's insecure, how the fuck, lmao? The comment scene just came off like elementary school/middle school bullying instead of how people actually talk on the Internet. It gives me flashbacks of the 2011 film Cyberbully.

And the way the conflict gets resolved is shallow too, because everything is shallow in this film. I mean, "Don't read the comments"? I mean, it's kinda right for certain situations, but sometimes comments can be useful in helping you improve and seeing how other people see your videos. Sure, you should ignore bullies, trolls, and mean comments, but you shouldn't ignore every comment.

While the letting your friend go and follow their dreams message is a well-intentioned message to send to kids, the way they did it here is actually harmful and contradictory to the first film. I don't want to get too much into the characters because I have a special character section for them, so I'm just going to talk about the theme and how it relates to the world. Vanellope LITERALLY goes turbo. She ditches her Sugar Rush friends, players, and her game. Seemingly putting her friends and game in danger, yet no one questions it. I can't believe this was made by the same people who made the first.

In the climax of the film, Ralph releases a virus to protect Vanellope from the dangers of Slaughter Race. But somehow, it ends up detecting and copying insecurities? I mean, it's a cool concept, but it doesn't make sense when that wasn't even Ralph's intention to begin with.

And like a lot of things in this film, the way they resolved that conflict is anticlimatic. Supposedly, it's a symbol of the theme of the movie which is about letting friends go, which is fine, but why does it need to be in the form of a literal antagonist? Also, I feel like this whole thing is kinda breaking the Show, Don't Tell rule.

The movie also suffers from a lack of subplots. One particular subplot involving Calhoun and Felix was teased but then gets completely thrown out the window. It isn't really an original concept, but it still feels disappointing that they fucked it over.

Characters

Established characters barely even act like themselves. They say and do a lot of stupid shit. Like that contrived joke with Tron having a glitch (no pun intended) and they assume it's already fixed, but it turns out it wasn't fixed. That could've easily been rewritten as Litwak announced it was fixed, but it turns out it wasn't.

Dialogue is pretty bad, too. There's a lot of unnecessary Internet references, laughably idiot dialogue (mostly from Ralph) and a few potty humor that aren't even funny. Oh, and this movie is weirdly fond of philosophies too.

Why would Ralph be interested in a book club?

Ralph is now an idiot loser. He spends the entire film whining and crying about how Vanellope doesn't love him and his hair, even when she's saying nothing about him, it almost comes off as sus (I don't think I can say the actual word I'm thinking of). He says stuff like this.

Bitch, you could've said, "Why are you angry at the rainbow." HOW HARD IS THAT TO REWRITE, WRITERS?!?!

If Ralph just stayed the overprotective father that didn't want Vanellope to wander into dangerous games like Slaughter Race and be around sus people, that would be fine. But no, he gets upset because he and Vanellope were inseparable for 6 fucking years. That is just problematic in more ways than one. Like, Vanellope's your only friend? FELIX IS LITERALLY RIGHT THERE! WTF HAPPENED TO YOU, RALPH?!?!

As for Vanellope, I think the concept of Vanellope getting bored with her game is a good concept to explore and would've been a good catalyst for character development, but here's the thing: SHE NEVER LEARNS. At the end of the film, she gets what she wants and RALPH has to be the one to learn something. Don't get me wrong, Ralph is also in the wrong for being clingy and not wanting his friend to leave his side for 5 minutes. But Vanellope was also a selfish, insensitive b!tch for putting her own game in danger and hurting her friends and her players (by the first movie's logic).

Now, on the positive side, there are some decent characters. Spamley, Yesss, the creepy Slug, Shank, and Knowsmore. Any new character in the film is amusing to watch.

Spamley is the spam junk guy. He's shady and wants to help Ralph and Vanellope get rich by looting from video games. I feel like this character could've probably been the antagonist as I always felt like he was going to backstab Ralph and Vanellope.

Yesss is the world-weary, aloof Youtube Algorithm with a loving side if she cares about you. It's how I'd imagine an Algorithm would act like if it was a person.

Knowsmore (who weirdly enough isn't google) also acts like how I'd imagine a search engine would act like. Saying what they think the other person is typing into the search engine.

The slug (I don't know if they mention his name) is aggressively creepy. He's the guy that Ralph buys the virus from. Fitting for how I'd imagine someone with a virus would act like.

Shank is the weakest of the characters because she's the one encouraging Vanellope to go Turbo, but she does have a cool personality. She may look slightly reminiscent of Calhoun, but she's not stern and hot-headed like her. Instead, she's easy-going, charismatic, and has some badass moves. I still like Calhoun better overall.

Animation/Music/Voice Acting

You can clearly tell it's a step up from the first movie. It's more fluid and cleaner. However, one thing I would like to complain about the animation is the way that some of the 2D princesses are translated into 3D. Ariel, Cinderella, and I think that was Tiana, look unrecognizable as 3D. Especially, Pocahontas, uh.

I think the voice actors were amusing to watch and portrayed their characters decently well. Sarah Silverman, however, felt somehow off to me. Like her voice is pitched up and she didn't really have as much range as she did in the first one, but it might just be the bad script and directing. Bill Hader, I thought he was great as Flint Lockwood and Fear, but his voice is a bit off in this film. Most of the time, he uses his Flint Lockwood voice (which I don't think really fits the character) and other times, he sounds different.

There's only two songs in there, one of them only lasts a second and somehow, it sounds better than almost anything about the full-length one. A Place Called Slaughter Race is not only Vanellope being a piece of shit, but it also doesn't sound particularly catchy. The melodies change like every minute and it's not even in a good way like Bohemian Rhapsody, it just sounds weird.

Overall

Ralph Breaks the Internet is just The Emoji Movie but a bit better. It does actually offer some creative things with the Internet. But it also could've done better in its portrayal of the Internet and that includes making the world feel more natural and cutting down the amount of Internet references (and there's A LOT).

The entire film wouldn't have happened if Ralph and Vanellope hadn't goofed off during work hours and forfeit the bid, but no. We GOTTA HAVE MEMES AND INTERNET REFERENCES FOR THE ZOOMERS AND ALPHAS!

BuzzTube and Knowsmore existing while Google and Youtube exists is weird. I guess they had some weird contract disagreements with these products?

There is little tension to be found as most of the conflict is resolved through anticlimatic and shallow dialogue and scenes and lame Internet jokes. And conflict is often started or ending with inconsistencies with the previous worldbuilding or with how the Internet really is.

There are barely any subplots in the film. One is teased, but never expanded upon.

Jokes are hit-and-miss. A lot of the dialogue felt unnatural and disgusting, often for the sake of making little kids laugh. Yet, the movie even tries to be r/I'm14andthisisdeep for no reason a few times.

Vanellope and Ralph are now almost completely different from how they were in the first film and of the two, only Ralph learns something and it's a pretty harmful message in the context of the film. However, I do like the new side characters. I personally think they should've done more with Spamley, but they all have fun personalities and act like how I'd imagine the Internet in character form would act like. And the parody with the Disney princesses and the interactions between them and Vanellope is actually creative to watch.

Animation is a clear step up from the first film besides the designs of some of the Disney princesses looking off. Voice acting was mostly decent except for a few characters sounding weird at times. Vanellope's I Want song is disappointingly forgettable.

Ralph Breaks the Internet gets 5.3 bells out of 10.

Also, why is it called Ralph Breaks the Internet instead of Ralph Wrecks the Internet? Ugh, they couldn't even get the title right.

Sour Bill is also one of my favorites and I would've loved to see more of him, too.

First off, why do I ship 'em?

-I genuinely think it would be a fun paring with the contrast between the two

-they have been in TWO games together (macho being champ In both)

-I just think macho would like his fun boyfriend and would think he is super sweet and adorable

-dragon needs more love

How I think they would start dating:

-I think dragon had the most obvious crush on macho thinking he was super cool

-Heike wingmanned the whole time since he could talk to macho (being in the world circuit after all)

-they acc enjoyed each other a lot and decided to acc start dating

-GYM PARTNERS!!! Dragon helps macho on leg day and vice versa. Each of them are each other's spotter and motivate each other during sets.

-dragon will climb on machos back randomly (he needs to be swears)

-macho sleeps in bare minimum Pjs and dragon wears a full on dragon onesie

-they cook together but macho had a home chef as a kid so he kinda bad at it so dragon helps a lot and they have fun!

-Dragon LOVES to share his favourite Chinese dishes and macho demolishes it ALL

-play Roblox together (macho always convinces him play the dress up games but they still have fun)

Smm: “UGH who does SHE think she is getting a higher rating then my GNARLY outfit!!!”

Dragon: “ Your outfit is my favourite so it wins in my eyes!”

Smm: “thanks babe let’s beat these bogus outfits!”

Switcheroo Brainstorming

I'm making an role reversal au! I'm going to post this along with my posts for Viva, Poppy, and Branch specifically, which you can find by clicking on their names! Here's some ideas I have:

So Branch and Poppy are basically going to be full-on switching lines, though their backstories will be very different cause... it's kinda hard to replace 4 people with 1 sister and a father. So band together is going to be the most different! More details in the individual posts for the characters

I want "Better Place" to be replaced with "It Takes Two" for the final confrontation in TBT :)

Not all characters are going to be switch 1-to-1. Again, the brothers are going to be hard to switch for. Also, not all characters readily have someone to replace them with

There will be a lot of trollstopia characters that will be in the world tour switch, but they'll mostly have the personalities of the trolls they switch with so watching the show isn't a must (But i still recommend both shows, they're pretty fun!)

Most of the troll tribe leaders will be replaced with a trollstopia character, EXCEPT for Queen Essence and King Quincy cause I need them to be in those roles. They'll just change lines and outfits maybe?

I have no idea what to do with the bounty hunters so if you have a recommendation id love to hear it!

There's not much to say other than character switches which will be put under the cut cause it'll be a long list. If you have any recommendations or questions, hit up my ask box!

Tiny Diamond doesn't have a counterpart so he's just kinda the same

Copper ↔ Darnell (personalities don't change only backstories)

Smidge ↔ Milton (not sure if I want to change their personalities or just professions... a loud vet and a sweet bodybuilder sounds fun)

Chad and Todd ↔ Chef (Not sure if I should change her name or just keep her as Chef)

Peppy ↔ JD

Cloud Guy ↔ Janet

For the techno trolls it's going to be a triangle. Laguna-> Trollex -> Synth -> Laguna. The reason for this is changing Trollex and Synth would be too similar, and would leave Laguna with no one (Except for Bliss Marina)

The other BroZone members don't really have counterparts. Clay and Bruce stay mostly the same while Floyd joins the rock trolls.

So as I'm watching people play Mario Party, I was thinking about how TSSM would play Mario Party.

I'm going with how they play, their skills, luck, and anything else

Quentin Beck- very competitive. He's a very good player and he already knows all the game's tricks. He's also incredibly lucky so somehow it's always in his favor. Also this is his childhood game and he's also one of those kids that burnt a hole on their hand from rotating the stick with their palm.

Tinker- he plays because Quentin makes him. Only competitive if he can knock Quentin down if there's a chance. He's also a very good player. His luck is decent so it goes either way. He does plan ahead just in case.

Peter- plays for fun mostly since he's excited to have more people to play with. He's also a very good player that rivals the other two. However, his bad luck still gets him. Usually the victim in chance time, red spaces, bowser spaces, or get something stolen from him. When the random button gets chosen, its somehow always him. He just wants to have fun-oh no plz don't take his star he barely got the money for it

Harry- is competitive. He's skills are decent but he can still take on the others sometimes. His luck makes up for some stuff that he has better luck than the Tinkerer

Fancy Dan- plays for fun. He's kinda decent. His luck is also 50/50. He just wants to have fun with Peter honestly. And watch Montana be mad.

Ox- plays for fun. He's also decent. But he has Quentin's luck for some reason and no one knows why.

Montana- is very competitive but even more if he's with Quentin. He is a decent player overall. His luck is not like Peter's but it's less than Dan. He will try and screw over Quentin no matter who's winning. He will also sabotage the games if he has to.

Electro- is competitive. He's also a really good player. But with horrible luck that almost rivials Peter's. He might give up in the middle of the game to start trolling since that's the only thing he can do at this point. He does random stuff sfuff just to get a kick out of everyone's reaction. He goes far away from the star and teleports so someone else can be stuck there.

Sandman-plays for fun. He is bad at the game but just want to play something he couldn't when he was younger. His luck is decent. He played very few games but he also had a hole in his hand when he was younger.

For Ock- he would say that these games are too childish but it does make Peter happy if he goes along with this so he tries. He is a good player if he practices a bit. His luck is almost to Electro though so it does get frustrating when things never goes his way. This guy calculates so hard but his dice rolls are the only things that stops him.

Vulture- only if there's really nothing else to do or gets a bit pressured. He's kinda decent but he asks for the controls in the middle of the mini games. His luck is kinda decent. Hates being pair up with others.

Rhino just likes to watch.

(Ok but seriously I’ve seen your stuff for it (which fucking SLAPS btw) and this is a series I’ve never really been very interested in, so I’m very curious about what draws you to it! Only if you want to share, of course! As you can see, I am not a real fairy and my spells are fake lol)

Asfdhgd seriously though, believe me, I have no problem rambling about Trolls all day jvjfjhf. This is not gonna be very coherent, so sorry in advance. 😅 (Also, thank you, I'm so glad you like my work! <3)

Okay so. I've actually been here since the trailer for the first movie came out (I wasn't very active in the fandom back then, though). I was already invested from that moment on, specifically in the two main characters, Poppy and Branch, and their dynamic, who I took one look at and said, "yeah, I ship that" hfjhf. I think what mostly got to me was the characters, the designs, the fact that it's such a fun and colorful world, and of course, the music. The songs are so good! Like, all of them. Yes, they are mostly just covers of already popular songs with some word changes here and there, but my GOD, are they good covers! But anyway, love me a musical with fun characters! Personally, I think all of the characters have deeper issues about them than what you can see on the surface and what you would expect from a children's movie franchise. Like, Branch has so much trauma it really just feels like in every movie they are just trying to give him more and more problems hdkhdjd. Which of course, makes him a pretty compelling character altogether. Do other characters have as deep issues as him? Some of them. But like, they don't really have that much screentime, sadly. While Poppy and Branch are equally important characters in the first movie (and well, in all of the movies, imo), the second movie is what I would dub as "Poppy's Character Development - The Movie" jgkjfjfj. While the first movie operates with the whole "happiness is inside of all of us, we just need someone to help us find it" kinda message (which doesn't fully stick the landing but oh well), the second goes for stuff like differences, equality (of sorts), and tbh some kind of colonialism metaphor?? It also widens the world of trolls as we've known it, as we learn of other tribes of trolls, who are all connected through different kinds of music. So the whole worldbuilding here just makes things even more interesting.

Now the third movie. In the words of youtuber Mann of 1000 Thoughts, it "gives no fucks in all the right ways". Tbh the Trolls timeline has already been questionable, as is, with the Netflix tv shows that came out after the first and second movies, but this just throws another ranch in the system, and says fuck you to the timeline altogether jckbfh. Like, I managed to make it work once I dedicated a good half hour figuring out how Branch's secret long lost brothers who he was in a band with when he was a baby fit into the picture, but it's not perfect even then. There would definitely still be plotholes gkfhfgf. But at this point you just gotta turn your suspension of disbelief on and just go along with it, cuz it is SUCH a fun experience besides all that. (This goes for all the movies btw. Turn your brain off, you're gonna have a great time jfkhf.) Ngl this is the movie that really got me to jump right back into the fandom with full force, and now I'm back to thinking about all of the previous movies as well and appreciating all of the characters. Tbh when I watched the trailer for the third movie, I thought that the whole long lost brothers storyline was the worst idea they have ever come up with, and then I watched the movie and I was like, "fuck this is the best thing ever" gjfgdhd. Idk, we learn enough about Branch's brothers for them to be compelling characters of their own, while we also have a 20 year old gap in which we can pretty much imagine anything into, cuz we don't actually know all the details about how they got to where they are today after the band broke up. Idk, it's like a sandbox you can play in. And that is so much fun. Also, yeah. The music in the third movie also SLAPS! I listened to the soundtrack on loop for a week after watching it jfkhfh.

The humor is also great in all of the movies, in my opinion. I think my humor operates on Trolls standards at this point, which everyone can decide for themselves if it is good or not hkfjfj. I'm having fun so that's all that matters to me.

But yeah, it's just. Idk. It's difficult to pinpoint something very specific that lured me in. Although, I did mention quite some stuff altogether jfkjjf. It's all about the experience for me. The movies are just filled with so much energy, which I love, and they are, in my opinion, the perfect combination of that energy and emotional impact. Are they perfect movies? Absolutely not. But I'm enjoying myself immensely while watching them, and that's l that matters. Soooo yeah. That's about it for now, I've already been talking too long hkfhfjf

Now, about this new blorbo *cracks knuckles* Like I was saying on that other post, I recently rewatched the 10th Kingdom, a kinda obscure 5 parts mini series that I'd watched once as a kid when it aired on tv, and asolutely adored. I then spent the next two decades desperately searching for a piece of media that would make me feel the exact same way that this show had at the time. Also could not for the life of me remember the title, and I had half convinced myself that this whole series was a fever dream and that it didn't actually exist. Skip to a couple of weeks ago, where I saw a random tumblr post mentioning this series, awakening all my memories of it, then I found that all 5 parts of it were available for free on youtube. Thus began my obsession with the 10th Kingdom again, and more specifically with Wolf. My best friend. My pal. My homeboy. My rotten soldier. My sweet cheese. My good time boy. Wolf is the love interest of our main girl. He's also a werewolf. Half-wolf. I don't know. He's got a tail. He sometimes grows fangs. His eyes can change colors. He howls when he's sad, he growls when he's angry/horny, he scratches his head, he tries to cook grandmothers, he says "huff puff". He's basically the big bad wolf from fairy tales but played by a normal looking guy. Yeah cause I haven't mentioned it yet, but the 10th Kingdom is just a seven hours long love letter/parody of fairy tales. Think similar to Shrek. Or Once Upon a Time. With over the top acting, terrible special effects, and a plot that's either very dumb and silly, or rips your heart out, there is no inbetween. Also it's very horny. Again especially with Wolf. I cannot overstate how not subtle the show is with this, from the acting to the dialogue. When I watched it as a kid, these parts completely flew over my head though, so I still consider it a family friendly show. Anyway, this show also has prolematic elements (my main beef with it is that the only POC actors we see in it play trolls. The trolls are very cool though), and just in general, it's very much a product of its time. However, I still love it, and I think it's worth giving it a try, especially since it's all on youtube for free. Sorry, this ended up being more of a propaganda post for the 10th Kingdom in general 😅 But yeah, Scott Cohen as Wolf really did a great job making him a compelling and likeable character. He manages to be creepy and funny and touching, and you can tell he was having a lot of fun in this role. I lowkey wish I could draw a hookdust 10th Kingdom au but the vibes are so different, I don't think it would work. I guess Wolf and James are both tormented guys with a dark and destructive side to them. But James is a manipulative prick, whereas Wolf is completely unable to pretend.

Hangman/Rooster my beloved!!!! I don’t know if TG:M was just at the right place at the right time or what, but I haven’t been this invested in a ship in AGES. Just. Enough canon to work with, enough blank space to play with, you could make me believe they get together just about any way and I’d buy it and thank you for it. (Plus the raw material GP and MT bring to the table doesn’t hurt. Hnngh.)

I tend to be pretty fandom-monogamous, but two other fave ships I’d revisited pre-TG:M:

Arthur/Eames (Inception). Coincidentally (?) LOTS of parallels to Hangman/Rooster. Two supporting characters in a team that has to work together to pull off a mission. Total opposites in many ways that you know would make them total complements if they could get over themselves. MAJOR bitter ex energy. This ship also has some of the most incredible fic I’ve read for any fandom, ever. The canon-compliant stuff is great, but the AUs! Dear god, the AUs. It is my very fervent wish that we start getting TG:M AUs like that. (Plus the raw material that TH and JGL bring to the table doesn’t hurt. JGL’s wardrobe alone.)

Kirk/McCoy (ST:AOS). Oh, man, I was super-obsessed with this one back in the day. Much like TG:M, I saw the first movie WAY too many times in the theater. In general, I’m not big on ships that start as best friends, for whatever reason, but I vibe with this one. Plus Star Trek is just a fun universe to play in (although, again, some of my fave fics for this ship are AUs too, god, there is one kids-to-adults one that focuses mostly on HS and I re-read it still, all the time). I’m sad about this ship, though, because most if not all of my engagement with it was on LJ, and I know that a lot of the fic hasn’t made it to AO3. (I love K/M in TOS too, fwiw. DeForest Kelley’s McCoy in Wrath of Khan after the Kobayashi Maru, draped across the floor, actually begging for a compliment from Kirk…SO fruity, god love him.)

Last movie

In truth, the OG Top Gun for the zillionth time, while I was multitasking doing laundry and a crossword puzzle. Before that, it was actually Whiplash for the first time, as I continue in my quest to watch Miles Teller’s back catalogue, and a rewatch of Tombstone for the first time in at least a decade, for Val Kilmer. Next up is a rewatch of Jerry Maguire, probably for the first time since it was in the theater? (I have a huge embarrassment squick, so I remember not loving it, but I’m also in a Tom Cruise phase, so needs must.)

Last song

Sturgill Simpson’s cover of “The Promise,” which I didn’t know existed, but now do thanks to a completely captivating Hangster WIP. Before that, some random new-ish country songs as I continue digging for songs that Jake thinks about playing for Bradley on acoustic guitar. Suggestions welcome.

Other than the movies mentioned above, I just finished rewatching Bridgerton s2, which I unironically love. Oh, and trolling YouTube for Miles Teller interviews. (Glen Powell is my guy, but sometimes I find him to be, like. Overly polished, and kinda performative, in interviews. Miles is a fucking loose cannon and I find him fascinating.)

Horror Movie’s I just watched: May 2023

Shorter list this time. Here we go:

Resurrection (2022) I saved this one for Mother’s day because I heard the main character was a Mom. I was a bit afraid it wouldn’t factor into the plot that much, but I was reassured, especially with the final scene.

This is another one, kinda like Censor, where the whole thing might be in the protagonist's head. Where she’s so wound up tight at the beginning that her daughter’s accident only starts the ball rolling in her head some nightmarish fantasy of the worst case scenario. It helps that we never got any confirmation about whether of not Tim Roth’s character was a hallucination or anyone else can see him. Hell, given that we never get a flashback with him and his first lines is him saying he doesn’t recognize her, there’s a disturbing possibility that he is real, but is some poor guy who just looks way too much like her ex and she’s hallucinating everything he said. And that final reveal about the baby actually being inside him is too surreal and supernatural to not have heavy implications if it wasn’t in her head.

Granted, like the best of ambiguous films, the story works regardless if this theory is right or not. The point is, externally or internally, this character is tormented. I feel like the moral of this story is; Girlbossing can only help you in limited ways. When it come to trauma as severe as this, try to find therapy. Though given our culture, she still probably couldn’t. It’s not fair.

Mad God Here was a movie I couldn’t take my eyes off, and I still feel like I missed a few things. That’s how striking the imagery was. I don’t know what I can add to what’s already been said about the themes that others haven’t already. Cycles of violence not solving anything, the de-personification of mass labor, civilizations rising and falling again despite the sacrifices; those are what I can glean. Also, being reminded at various points of Eraserhead, Fallout New Vegas, Metropolis, and Cemetery Man. Probably not even half of that was intentional.

It just wows me. Any one of the creatures in this could be the centerpiece or high point of any other film. Stop motion really has become a lost art. Sure, we know now a big reason why studios heavily prefer CGI, despite how good it actually looks, is cheaper and faster to make then any other effect. But works like this show that, if you’re actually comfortable letting film take as much time as it needs and use as much money as possible to make it look good (Better there than some executive’s overstuffed salary), you’ll allow a lot more variety in how each film is made and look. Gee, it’s almost like time crunches and trying to save money is actually bad for the product. WhO kNeW?

Scare Me I recognized the male lead, Josh Ruben, from CollegeHumor. And after that, this whole movie, to me, played like an extended Hardly Working sketch. I’m not sure if that’s good or bad.

I was worried a whole movie mostly about two people (briefly three) telling scary stories, and not actually showing us the stories, would look too cheap. Thankfully, there were some technical flourishes. The performances, including the bits their characters acted out so they’re effectively a performance in a performance, are good even if the stories themselves are hit or miss.

The first werewolf one is just goofy, but that’s intentional. The Grandpa one is ok, even if it’s a touch ableist at a point. The troll’s a bit fun. And the “deal with the devil” one has a fun payoff.

What this actually ends up being about, insecure white male (maybe?) getting violent with his more successful female colleague was pretty inevitable given how passive-aggressive they both are. Honestly, that they’re both such a-holes help kept what would be a too uncomfortable situation pretty light. You can mark this as another case of “actor known for comedy taking a serious villain role to show their range” movie, like Robin Williams. This was effective enough here, though I don’t know if it would work for him outside of it.

Final note (and mild spoiler for two films), can’t help but felt like the mid-credit scene reminded of the very end of the 1982 movie Death Trap. Not sure if that movie was a direct inspiration for this. I saw that for the first time about a month ago so it’s fresh on my mind. Outside of that, this is pretty much a good hang-out horror movie. Especially for fans of the old College Humor.

Let’s play that new fighting game, he said. It’s gonna be fun, he said.

Jane grits her teeth and fights the immense urge to throw away the controller. Dad didn’t raise no quitter, but dearest lord, she was beginning to seriously question things.

The asshole in question simply raises one eyebrow, and she knows his red-and-blue pupilless eyes are focused on her, rejoicing in her misery.

“Ready to give up?”

There’s a temptation here, for a moment. She could pout slightly, show him her teary eyes, and throw herself at Sollux, whining how it’s too hard, and she’s so sad, and give them both an excuse to cuddle, and him specifically to comfort her, like in one of these silly romcoms she’s watched so many of, but ironically, it’s that very idea that makes her even more determined to beat her boyfriend.

But god damn it, it *is* hard! Did Sollux put the settings on the hardest mode or did he hack it before she came here to make it so unreasonably difficult? Or maybe it’s something with the game? Her character only responds to half…

the…

commands.

Jane frowns. There’s no way.

She puts it to a small test, then, and looks at the screen with the sheer intensity she usually reserves for more delicate recipe steps, but after a few moments, when she assumes it’s safe to, she glances down and-

That motherfucker.

She’s not sure if she’s more annoyed by his attempt at pranking her or by his criminal lack of creativity.

Seriously, who does this guy think he’s dealing with?

But fine, you’re on, Mr. Captor. Non-creative prank for a non-creative prank.

Jane sighs, bowing her head and laying the controller next to the popcorn bowl.

“I think it’s enough for tonight,” she says. Exhaustion isn’t difficult to feign - she is pretty tired. “I’ll take a shower first, I hope you don’t mind!”

By his comically sad and wronged expression it’s clear this isn’t where he wanted things to go.

“It’s not even midnight,” he mutters, just like an insolent child in a similar situation would. “Come on, two more rounds?”

Jane rolls her eyes, already standing up.

“Two more, then maybe two more, then maybe another two, because the score is uneven, and suddenly it’s four in the morning!” She huffs, putting her hands on her hips, and her best ‘don’t argue with me’ expression on her face. “We’re meeting with others at ten, and we’re either going to oversleep or we’ll be dead tired when we show up! Don’t tell me it won’t end up like that! It always does! And no, we won’t be using psi to get anywhere faster! We almost hit a building the last time!”

Sollux frowns but doesn't argue… then smiles slyly.

“Alright, alright,” he says, standing up.

There’s a quiet buzz and sparks dance around his horns, as well as the bowl that flies up to his shoulders, while the troll himself leans down a bit.

“Can I get a kiss for good behavior?”

Jane rolls her eyes once more, trying to fight off a smile. When he really wants to, Sollux can be quite cute.

It’s a quick kiss on the cheek. The asshole doesn’t deserve a bigger one.

Fighting off a grin is a bit of a challenge, and she gives Sollux the credit here - basic or not, pranks are exhilarating.

The living room is cleaned when she enters it, save for the game that is still on, and she snorts, because of course he'd try to coax her into playing, even if she's said it's enough for the day.

Dating a gamer is hard, it's hard and nobody understands.

…

Still, maybe now that Sollux isn't here to mess with her controller…

Of course she wins easily. A single-player mode, sure, but a victory nonetheless, the character does exactly what she tells them to.

And right as she chooses to fight the next opponent, there's a blood-curdling shriek that, even though expected, makes her jump a little.

"WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK!?"

There's a zap, loud like a serious short circuit, and Sollux Captor appears at the entrance of the room in all of his disheveled and wet glory.

He did put his clothes on, though. A shame.

The look on his face is a weird mix of anger, bewilderment and horror, which almost makes her regret what she's done.

"Who the fuck did you kill!?" He asks, then, surprisingly, "isn't it illegal here or something? Did you hide the body properly at least?"

Jane blinks at him, looking away from his now cyan-tinted hair to look him in the bicolored eyes, before it clicks.

Oh. Oh shit. Whoops.

Sollux's eyes widen, as he clearly has the complementary realization.

"Oh. Right," he says, now much calmer but with clear embarrassment, before clearing his throat. "Yeah, uh."

She knows he's looking away, and another realization paints itself on his face.

"It's for the controller thing, isn't it."

"Yeah."

There's a moment of silence that seems to drag out for hours before it's broken by two simultaneous bursts of laughter.

"That was stupid."

"You started!"

"I did!" He grins, ruffling his hair.

"It'll wash off in a few days, don't worry." Jane smiles.

"Cool…" He brings one of the wet strands to his eyes and frowns. "Not the worst look, though."

She chuckles at that, then.

"Sollux?"

"Yeah?"

"You're dripping onto the floor."

"Fuck."

oh I'm terrible at keeping up with release dates and what's upcoming tbh so it's more likely instead that I'll have to ask you or some other people what's good 🥲 for now, I'm just waiting for new seasons of a couple of shows (including link click). I think the one new anime I'm waiting for is solo leveling (I didn't read the webtoon though)

it's been a long month fjlakdjf i had a final on monday and now i have to get through 5 more over 4 days starting on monday so lots of studying happening right now, especially since my first 2 finals are the harder ones 😭 fjaldkfja i feel like the only animanga that would give you away was if you like op since there's not as many fans of the series as i'd like there to be but also haikyuu is so much fun so i love it so i can already tell you have great taste! how are you liking sxf and blue lock so far?? i love the way those 2 series are just totally opposites and i love watching them one after another because they're both so fun in their own ways. like legit, i know blue lock isn't a comedy, yet my sister, moh, and i are laughing too much during each episode bc i love their dramatic antics and i'm so glad to see it all being played out on screen now. i've only seen the first 3 episodes of link clink so far but i really like it so far!! moh and i are loving watching it and theorizing to the max about it as much as we can during our watches (since i haven't been able to join all of amc's watches). i gotta warn you that i'm like super bad at keeping up with what's coming out so i'm probably the last person you want to ask for recs, but i can definitely direct you to some people who have simply the best recs !!! oooo solo leveling is another one that's on my list (dw i didn't read the webtoon either faldkfja) to answer the question of the week: my favourite characters are: roronoa zoro and nami (one piece), oikawa tooru (haikyuu, which is probably unsurprising bc of my sideblog's url), dabi (boku no hero academia, even though i've given up on bnha ever being a good story), nakahara chuuya (bungou stray dogs), zeno (akatsuki no yona), minako aino (sailor moon), and sherlock and william moriarty (yuukoku no moriarty) characters i relate to: unfortunately i've found myself relating to luffy (one piece) after october 2021 a lot, which definitely sucks and nakahara chuuya due to our bodies betraying us but i also am relating hard to mizuno ami (sailor moon) right now bc of all the studying, roronoa zoro bc he sleeps a lot, miya twins always bc moh and i fight like them all the time, wei wuxian and kamado tanjirou bc of our protectiveness over our siblings, edward elric bc of my shortness i asked @luffys who she thinks i relate to and she immediately said asta (black clover) bc i'm screaming at her all the time, which to be fair is always valid bc she's a dipshit, and she also said i relate to murr (vanitas no carte) bc i'm always done with everything but mostly her, she also said a character from free but she was just trolling me with that since she knows my opinions on that show fladkfj

A Troll in Central Park Review [Spoilers, not that it matters]

I never wanted to rewatch this film seriously. I only rewatched it because Saberspark was watching it and trust me, the commentary that he and the comments do make the video much more fun to get through. I first watched this film at way too old of an age and barely remembered anything of it other than it was completely forgettable.

Story

I could describe the story as so many things. Pointless. Childish. Bizarre. Confusing. Random. It’s like someone wanted to make the most wholesome thing ever, more wholesome than Disney and Animal Crossing combined. If anyone knows me, you know I love wholesome shit. I love Animal Crossing, I love Disney (and many kids films in general), and I love the cozy game genre. But, this film is too wholesome. The entire story centers around a troll with a green thumb who creates pretty flowers and cute animals to anything he touches. He meets two kids (because we gotta have cute kids in a kids movie about ugly trolls because you can’t even bother to make the trolls and backgrounds look appealing) and he shows them all the beauty he can create. He takes them to a utopian land on one of the kids’ boat that he had repaired (with his stupid ass flowers) and enlarged. Then, everything goes to shit. But then they save the day and everything becomes good again.

Actually… too good. Or maybe bad. Imagine the amount of pests and allergies this shit would cause.

I was struggling to figure out what the point of the movie was and why this was even made. From what I heard, the director was going through his Disney phase at the time, so he was trying to make it look as Disney-esque as possible. Which makes sense because there’s quite a few references taken from Disney. From a character crying an ocean of tears to more music drops than I ever remember seeing from a Don Bluth film, to characters we thought were dead turn out to be alive. But, the real issue is THE MOVIE HAS NO COHESIVE PLOT. The first half is a random happy slice of life story, the second half is a generic dark action film. I’d probably say the last half is slightly better than the first just because things get interesting, but even that doesn’t make up for the fact that the film feels like a bunch of different movies still going through their adolescent phases thrown in a blender. Characters solve issues in forced ways, and we get no character development or theme. Stanley, our protagonist, retires for most of the second half while Gus becomes the real protagonist and Stanley has to go through some half-assed growth to save the kids. The film clearly doesn’t know what it wants to be, what it wants its characters to be, or anything.

One good thing I will give the story is that it made me giggle a couple times, not that it matters though if the entire script is ass.

Characters

All the characters are either extremely sweet or the shittiest person in the world. No in-between. Stanley is this pure little troll who’s actually a douchey creep (the movie doesn’t present the latter that way though). He has a green thumb that somehow makes the world more beautiful and better. He becomes friends with these kids and this is where the creepiness factor comes in. He kinda kidnaps them, with no regard for their well-being or their parents. AND he likes kids kissing him! Not to mention, he is so inconsistent. He literally survives drowning in a storm yet he’s afraid of some fucking lightning and leaves his friends off to die. His character development was also rushed too. It made me wonder who was the protagonist supposed to be? Stanley was initially the making all the action happen, but then Gus has to take over because he’s too much of a wuss to save his kidnapped friends.

Rose pretty much exists to be a toddler. She has this weird quirk of kissing things and somehow making everything better. She’s also… surprisingly brave for her age. There are better depictions of toddlers out there. Like Boo from Monsters Inc. or Sunny from Lemony Snicket’s.

Gus is the most unlikeable character I’ve seen in, I don’t remember how long. He’s your typical child with neglectful parents and he takes his anger out on everyone else for no apparent reason. He also is extremely cynical for a young child his age. Every scene he’s in, he’s whining about something, bullying his sister and just being a whole ass.

The villains, which are Gnorgna and her minion I forgot the name of (I don't even know if it's mentioned), are just your average evil-for-the-sake-of-being-evil and comedy minion duo. The former likes babies, especially crying babies for some reason. The latter has a slapstick joke that gets repetitive.

The adults are your average ignorant parents (the nanny is too). They constantly got shit to do and don’t care about their kids because the movie’s gotta have a plot so….

And… I don’t remember anyone else nor care to remember them.

Animation/Voice Acting/Music

Don Bluth is known for some usually beautiful animation. While we do see some of that here including some hilariously exaggerated expressions, the animation is also filled with errors, ugliness and inconsistency. At one point, the kids’ heads literally get cut off as they’re walking off the screen. Some points have the characters talking/laughing/crying and their mouths/bodies aren’t moving. Characters are constantly shrinking and growing. The designs for the kids look cute in some scenes and goofy/monstrous in others while the creatures just look completely disgusting. And the parents look like models of other Don Bluth characters.

And what is with the giant freckles/spots and puffy cheeks on all the characters’ faces? Come on, Don, you can do better than this.

The backgrounds don’t even go well with the tone of the film. Most of the tone is sweet, cute, and light-hearted, yet the backgrounds look dark and drab.

I would say most of the voice acting is decent. I do think Stanley should’ve been given a goofier voice, but every other voice actor looked like they were putting their all into this film. One scene where Gus was crying confused me, it’s like the movie was too lazy to put in sound effects or was trying to have some kind of emotional effect by muting the sounds, but it didn’t work for me.

The music is catchy, and it’s pretty good when listening to it out of context. I don’t really have anything to analyze here since I’m not a music person.

Overall

This is a movie clearly meant to be a babysitter for very very young children (I’m talking like under 6, maybe 8 years old.) Even then, I don’t see how this would be appealing to them in any way besides the cute imagery and the dark scenes might scare them.

I have never seen a more pointless movie since probably The Emoji Movie. No, SCRATCH THAT. Even The Emoji Movie had a point to make. THIS… is just random for the sake of random. Like I don’t know what the writers thought they were getting out of this? To appeal to toddlers?

I know why I initially gave this film a 1 out of 10. I didn’t remember shit about this film other than I remember not caring about anything about it. Rewatching it again with a fresh memory and analysis, there are a few things to praise, but in the end, I’m still giving it 3.3 bells out of 10.

Everything is pointless and boring. I don’t know what Don Bluth was thinking with this, because it feels so unlike him to create a mess like this. At least he recognizes what he’s done. Still, I’m amazed at how much he’s fallen with this film. Say what you want about Thumbelina, but at least I can get what THAT film was going for.

what about like the moment you open up about your relationship with kazuxiao the fans who were already seeing that happen were celebrating and on both of y'alls insta or something is where you announce and it's like a picture of all 3 of you chilling together or something

and then when they finally appear on a variety show they're just questioned throughly and they talk about how you guys meet and what they like about you

ok but the moments where you just feel sort of insecure since being an idol is hard and you're technically dating your seniors and you're just hit by the antis who are against yourself relationship so you lock yourself in your room in your dorm by yourself to cope. your roommate (can be whoever) contacts them both and they immediately come over and come in and offer soft kisses and soft murmurs of reassurance that they'll never leave you and that everything's gonna be ok.

side note i can see xiao just being a whole meme without realizing?? for like variety shows he's just known for his dead pan expression and then i can see him being so competitive on shows like running man..mans ripping tags left and right, while kazuhas just hiding in a weird spot or something

kazuha on the other hand i can see him being a troll, he likes to mess around with the hosts of the show and manages to mess up some of their plans, he also likes messing with his group members, where xiao likes to say that kazuha looks innocent but is a part of the devil line with venti

onto albedo i can see him like answering questions in his vlive and fans realize that a lot of his songs are more romantic and sort of pining?? and they're asking where the motivation is from. he answers that it's just something that he saw recently so he felt motivated (it wasn't the fact that he had realized that he was 100% in love with you)

but like all of this mans inspiration comes from you, he's had multiple songs dedicated to you before your relationship was even open to the public, and when your relationship finally does, it just clicks for fans and it suddenly makes sense, your ship name trends worldwide for the day

but how you and albedo met, i can see both of you guys being in the industry already and you guys are sort of know each other but it was for a one time off collab with other artists involved so you didn't really talk with each other. like i said before albedos a solo artist while i can see you being a part of a popular group already. but then both of your companies decided to do another collab and especially picked you two since you guys already worked on a collab before.

at first it was like awkward since albedos really socially awkward but then things click when you guys start writing the song together. everything just matches so well?? and you guys just compliment each other?? and that's when you learn of albedo just staying at the studio so late so you often bring food. this leads to you guys getting closer and albedo even stops his work just to talk to you more. when your song comes out and everyone is waiting for the stage, there's just so much tension?? but the good kinda and everyone is awed by the song and the vocals coming from you and albedo.

i can also see the both of you guys appearing on variety shows together too, like appearing on a show where you two travel to another place and experience the culture there, with albedo being your tour guide and showing you all the famous places (one of the many times where fans were awed by his research and knowledge) and then if you guys were to appear together again after you guys reveal your relationship, a lot of the times they show idols as they wake up, they'll see you and albedo being clingy af to each other.

on another side note, albedos totally a troll on variety shows, he likes messing around with the hosts and other contestants since a lot of the time he's not really interested in the show itself, it's more for publicity. however, when he first appeared on a show with you fans noticed that he actually seemed interested for once and that's where your ship name started.

albedos totally a golden child tho, he's like basically perfect in everything so a lot of the times variety shows don't catch him slipping, however the one time that he did was when you were mentioned, the clip of with his ears bright red was trending for a couple of days :)

Okay okay but like for the 'announcement' picture, what if it's like those photo booth pics (but like each picture you need to scroll through like on Insta) where it's cute and wholesome! The three of you are having fun wearing some silly glasses or hats, doing peace signs or finger hearts....and the very last photo is the three of you sharing a kiss- or, at least trying to.

It's sweet, a little silly, and most of your fans take it really well! After all, they can see the chemistry that you share and can't deny that the three of you would have a good relationship.

As for the insecurities of dating your seniors, Kazuha and Xiao are quick to knock back any of those worries. They love you so, so much and hate the fact that something like that makes you doubt for a single second. If anyone ever tries to bring it up, you know that they're going to immediately quip back.

Naturally, you're roomed with Venven :D He's technically an up-and-coming after he stopped doing idol stuff for a few years, so not only does he know the ropes, but he's also one of your biggest fans and biggest supports (outside of Kazuha and Xiao).

Though he's silly and light-hearted, he's quick to recognize when things are serious and need handling.

So as soon as he sees that you're not doing so great or if he notices the comments on your posts are going in a bad direction, he speed dials Xiao and the two of your boyfriends are right at the door in under 15.

Not only are they fast about it, but they have all your favorite snacks, a movie or two, some popcorn, and a ton of love and affection because they'll be damned if their love is going to be affected by some asshole's comments about their love life! What do they know anyway??

Actually this all could work too if Kazuha and Xiao are part of 4NEMO-

That'd cause so much more ruckus- not only is half of one of the most popular idol groups are taken, but by the same person??? And each other??? Man, that's wack.

BUT THE GAMESHOWS

Xiao would most certainly be super intense with those. He just can't help it--competition drives his blood and makes something snap in him. He's dead serious about doing well, regardless of the game. I actually have never watched said game shows, but--

Like...he's out for blood. No one is safe. Not even you or Kazuha if you're on opposing teams, though he'll be a bit more gentle. Maybe even with the hint of a smile while you have an expression of utter shock at the fact that he's just so fast-

Or if it's not a game show and instead you're doing some sort of idol group activity with a few others to get to know each other?

Someone suggests ping pong and, knowing how competitive Xiao gets, he's pitted up against Tartaglia and man. That's scary. There's no doubt that someone would clip the video and make it into an overly-dramatic retelling complete with music.

Hilarious.

As for Kazuha! He'd be a bit of a mish mosh! He enjoys poking fun at others, and he's so sly! Those poor hosts don't realize that he's goading them on, but sure enough--he is. Who knew that his charming smile and mild-mannered attitude could be so devastating?

But even then, he's mostly wholesome! There's a lot of little clips, mostly of your doing, of him in a 'kiss the chef' apron getting caught off guard while cooking something up. The videos aren't great because you're giggling while recording and he ends up placing the ladle down calmly before wrapping you up in his arms. Half the video ends up being the two of you laughing and joking while it's pointed at a weird angle towards the counter.

Sometimes it'll point just right and you'll get a half-blurred view of Xiao sitting at the kitchen island with his reading glasses perched on his nose and book forgotten. He tends to get up and join in for a few smooches before reminding Kazuha of the food that's still cooking.

Albedo!! He absolutely is the golden child. He's fantastic handling things under pressure in a cool, calm manner. Handsome, charismatic, incredibly smart--man's hit all the stops and just keeps going.

It's not until it comes out that the two of you are together that his cool façade (hardly one, though) falters and at the mere mention of you, he'll go soft. There's a tenderness in his eyes, a small smile on his lips, and his blush? Absolutely adorable. How can anyone object when he's obviously so in love with you?

And the idea you mentioned with the two of you traveling and experiencing stuff together sounds so cute (':

There's also a few times where you two have gotten lost in the new places, more because you're both so busy taking in the sights to realize you've taken five wrong turns- But then you make it into a whole adventure, foregoing the map and deciding to wander around. What better way to discover and learn about somewhere than getting lost and wandering?

You find quite a few hidden gems this way since otherwise you'd be hitting more popular areas!

Ahh regardless, Albedo's definitely a cuddler. He loves it, can't get enough of it. It's not often that he gets a good night's rest, but with you it seems like he's fully recharged and ready for the day! It's cute too because it doesn't matter--big spoon or little spoon, you on his chest or him resting on yours. Even a few times with you facing each other with your hands intertwined.

I also agree that Albedo would mess with the game show's hosts and contestants. Not only would he, but he'd be entirely smug about it (after all, we need to have that #smugbedo going on).

No doubt, there's been times where the cameras even focus/zoom in on him where he's sitting because he's got that smirk on his face.
