Getting nostalgia for SPN fandom experiences is rare but I'm feeling it tonight. Back when the show was still on, and a new season would have 22 episodes, it would air weekly from October, with a couple of holiday hiatus's all the way through til the following May. 8 months of almost constant weekly new content. I miss that experience.
SPN fandom back then was great because after a new episode aired you had a week to discuss, write meta, analyse, speculate, make gifsets and fanart, and just generally thrive in the excitement of what was gonna happen next.
Yes SPN was for the most part a pretty crappy show with terrible plot holes and repetitive stories that made no sense half the time but that only added to the fun of it.
I miss it. I know there are still SOME shows on network TV that have these schedules but its rare to find an active fandom nowadays thats blessed with constant new content to bond over. Streaming shows get released in bulk, or the ones that are released weekly are at most 10 episodes long and so the fandom build up and excitement only ever lasts a few months at most (followed by a minimum 2 year hiatus in most cases!)
I wish we could go back to the pre binge watching days. Half the fun of getting into a new show should be getting to experience it weekly with the fanbase on Tumblr. Thats how people interacted and made friends.
The landscape on tumblr is so different nowadays, and I think streaming platforms are partly to blame for that.
Anyways this is me telling all my old spn moots still hanging around on Tumblr that I miss our weekly spn chats and long text posts sharing meta and speculation with about a dozen excellent additions to every post. I miss the episode reviews and the shit posts and how if there was even a tiny destiel moment it would instantly become the most gif'd and screencapped thing on tumblr for the entire next week. I miss the post episode fic drabbles that would immediately fix whatever crap the episode pulled that fandom decided it hated, and I miss the hilarious and yet ruthless way everyone would tear apart Buckleming after every single one of their episodes.
Those were good times on Tumblr. The golden days of SPN fandom. It was so much fun back then.

I made little portraits of me and my best friends' favourite song and dance funny men as christmas presents!
I also made these little prize ribbons to go along with them:
...If I made them now I’d have given them all a prize for losing round 2 of @hotvintagepoll

My take/designs on the pevensies! (They’re definitely heavily inspired by their looks in the movies.)
Beginning of the lion, the witch and the wardrobe
End of golden age-ish
I’d call this a WIP but it’s not really, mostly once we get into designing clothes in fantasy settings I feel very out of my depth, but I wanna practice more. I’m the most happy with Lucy’s but that’s also cause I most heavily referenced with hers.
Im mostly still just figuring out the clothes design for when they’re in narnia. I want brighter/more jewel toned and warmth to contrast with the more muted London clothes. And for the clothing design I want embroidery, but other than that I have no idea how I would make the designs of the narnian style in this era cohesive.
I also have vague main colours for each of them, lucy green, secondary red, edmund blue secondary brown, Susan purple secondary blue, Peter red secondary purple, and all of them use gold as well.

Golden Sun 2, but it's super HD
A one week project I was working on because Golden Sun 2 is one of my favorite RPGs of all time.
Overpainting the screenshot and giving the graphics updates here and there was actually great practice, especially seeing all the crazy colorramps going on in the background. If I find the time I wanna make a little recap to describe the process, if people are interested. I had a lot of fun for sure :)

History remixed in OFMD
Stede Bonnet, the aristocrat who left his family and fortune behind to become a pirate, really existed. He paid his crew regular wages, unheard of at the time, and was one of the few historical pirates who made people walk the plank.
Blackbeard and Bonnet struck up an unlikely friendship, and decided to cruise together, with Blackbeard taking command while Bonnet kept to his cabin, recovering from his wounds
Despite Blackbeard's ferocious reputation, there are no verified accounts of his ever having murdered or harmed those he held captive.
Israel Hands had nicknames in his written records including Basilica and Hezekiah.
Israel Hands captained a second ship as part of Blackbeard's fleet.
Teach's Queen Anne's Revenge was run aground on a sandbar, and Hands' Adventure also became stuck when trying to assist.
Teach marooned about 25 men on a small sandy island. Bonnet rescued them two days later.
In June 1718, Bonnet & Teach separately accepted a pardon for their piracy, but by August had returned to piracy.
Israel Hands was shot in the knee by Ed Teach / Blackbeard. Some accounts say the captain was firing at another sailor and hit Hands by mistake, offering as explanation "if he did not now and then kill one of them, they would forget who he was." Others say Blackbeard was asserting his authority as captain when Hands disagreed with him.
The historical Israel Hands did not lose his leg, though his injury disabled him permanently. While Hands was recovering from his wound, Ed Teach was killed in battle and Stede Bonnet was captured by British authorities off the coast of North Carolina. They were both executed, although Israel Hands testified against corrupt North Carolina officials, in exchange for a pardon.
