It just occurred to me that Dreams and Nightmares could change their appearance. We saw Gault and Fiddler’s Green do it so it’s safe to assume the Corinthian could have altered his form to look completely human, i.e. having a pair of eyes instead of extra mouths so that he wouldn’t have to wear shades day and night. But he chose to walk the earth like how he was made—like how Dream made him, so I dare think he took (a lot of) pride in being Morpheus’s creation.

Dream: Please watch over this one while I tend to some business. Don’t worry, he’s leashed and can’t bite. If he tries to, press the button.

Hob *looking at the strange talisman-thing in his hand*: … okay.

The Corinthian *incoherent muffled noises*

Later, when Dream comes back to pick up his pet Nightmare

Dream: He didn’t cause any trouble, did he?

Hob: What do you mean? He’s a charmer. Brought him to my lecture and he got a shit ton of numbers from my students. My only complaint was they hardly paid attention to the lesson.

Dream: ……

Back to the Dreaming

Dream: See? Not being murderous isn’t so difficult.

The Corinthian *shrugging*: Don’t know. Too busy trying to get into your friend’s pants to think about that.
