dude my billy brainrot is so bad rn!
anyways, ok so the band and muse go to a party, and this time billy is in a good mood and is obsessed with her. hes being really clingy and is just so in love with her. but then eddie starts flirting with her and says "you could do so much better than him". billy finds out and him and eddie almost get in a fist fight. but after eddie and billy almost fight billy goes to his muse and is all like "im sorry baby, i couldnt handle what he was saying, i really hope you know that i love you" and they fuck. but then the next day he is avoiding her a bunch and getting touchy with the other groupies and she is like "should i have listened to eddie?" i feel like this would happen earlier in their relationship before muse knows the cycle her and billy always go through
-🦋
billy dunne is literally my life
you're basically wrapped around billy the entire night, you both do a line off of each other, share drinks, it's like he's in a haze of just being entranced by you. he cannot stop kissing you, his arms wrapped securely around you, you're basically on his lap all night.
"I'm gonna write you a whole album, baby." and the feeling of his voice so near your neck makes you giggle which just makes him smile, "what?"
you shake your head smiling, "nothing." he keeps looking at you expectantly which makes you laugh again, "nothing! billy, I just-"
"you don't believe me? oh, that's what this is, you don't think I'm telling the truth!" somehow he's holding you tighter, his smile, the way he jokes makes your head fuzzy, well so does the drinks, but he does a number on you. the way he laughs, smiles, it's addictive.
"no, no, no, I do, I swear, scout's honor!"
"I think that only applies to actual boy scouts, baby."
"shut up" you kiss him and his lips make you dizzy, just as yours make him. when you finally pull apart he's just holding your face for a while.
"god, you're stunning, do I tell you that a lot? because you're so pretty. can I do another line off of you?"
you just rasp out a, "yes" and you've forgotten how public you are really at a party when you let him adjust you enough to do a line of your cleavage.
"let me go get us another drink, baby, I'll be right back."
"okay." you're smiling, adjusting your shirt as he squeezes your hand before he's off. no sooner is he gone then eddie is appearing
"he's only being that way for now, you know" he's drunk, you know he is to be so openly digging at billy like that.
"eddie-"
"two weeks ago he was doing lines off of some other chick's rack-"
"he didn't mean that eddie."
"he didn't mean what he did?"
"he fucked up, it was a mistake, eddie, it doesn't change anything."
"you don't deserve that." eddie is leaning closer over the couch rest, "you deserve better than him, the first guy you saw at the concert."
you stare back at him for a while, "eddie, if you think you could treat me so much better, you'd let me enjoy my night. which I was."
"one night is all he'll give you before he decides you're not that special anymore-"
"what the hell are you talking about, man?" billy is making his reappearance and you know eddie must be even more drunk when you thought when he doesn't even really try to cover.
"use your imagination." and eddie's words have barely escaped his mouth when billy's punched him in the face. eddie stumbles back for a second, but punches billy back and you've leapt up to get between them. and eddie's looking at you, shaking his head like he's done, and walking out. "whatever, man"
"eddie!" you're shouting, but he's gone, and you have other things to worry about. "billy, oh my god are you okay?"
"I'm fine, god, we need to find a new fucking bassist"
"don't do that, gimme your hand." you're looking at his knuckles and he's entranced by the way your brows furrow. "you can't just punch someone everytime they bruise your ego." his hand is suddenly moving to tilt your chin up, where he's smiling in disbelief.
"baby, that's not why I punched him." you're unamused by this. "I'm serious! baby, I did it because he was talking about you. acting like I didn't care about my girl. the girl I love."
"you love me?"
he looks dumbfounded by the question, "I just write all my songs about you, you basically live with me, I need you like air, so yeah, I do."
"that's good because I am so in love with you."
"this would be pretty awkward if you didn't." and next thing you know he's got you back at the house, laying on his bed as he proves it to you, it's really not fucking, it's raw, it's love making, and he makes you feel so appreciated.
that's until you wake up, and he pulls himself away just when you try to put an arm on him when you've woken up. he gets up, showers without a word, gets dressed, only says morning back when you say it, and walks out of the room. suddenly you feel like a one night stand, someone he never wants to see again, and there's a pit in your stomach. he knows it's because saying love has scared him, but he can't communicate that, he's just got to be destructive.
breakfast is him laying out instructions for everyone, moving away every time you try to get close, at some point you try to take a drag off his cigarette and he looks unbelievably annoyed which just shuts you down. and the ride to the studio is unbearably quiet, it makes you want to cry the way he doesn't acknowledge you.
it's gets worse at the studio when he doesn't acknowledge you at all and during a break is talking to the groupies, laughing, doing lines, having a drink, hands on them, and you do a line to deal with it before sitting back in the emoti studio so you don't have to deal with it. it's so fucking confusing. you're laying on the studio carpet when eddie walks in, looks at you, and lays down too.
you feel the energy of 'i told you so' radiating off of him, "eddie-"
"are you okay?"
there's a beat, "he told me loved me last night." another beat, "is this what it feels like to be loved?"
and he's rolling onto his side to look at you, "no."
you wish you didn't start crying, "then what did I do wrong since then? why is he doing this to me, I don't know why I'm not good enough."
"you are, he's too fucking stupid to notice what he's got right if front of him." and he's lighting a cigarette, handing it to you, "let's go to the record store, find something to listen to later. we can use my record player, you know it sounds better on mine."
and you do exactly that and wonder if maybe this is what it feels like to be loved, but it doesn't take away the desire your soul has for billy dunne. even if it makes you think that eddie could love you better.

dealer e.m. x fem reader
blurb request: 💌Hey Tori! Hope your day is going lovely 😊 As a request for the vday celebration, could I pls get a blurb where the reader is nerdy and loves reading old cheesy romance novels like these? And one night she falls asleep after reading and she fantasizes about her dealer Eddie as this suave romance hero who sweeps her off her feet and gets her all hot and bothered. And so after that night she starts buying books covers where the men resemble him and he catches on during one of their smoke seshs. You decide how it ends 😉😉 by: @honey-flustered

“there ya go, wrap your arms around me, sweet girl. Just like that.” The familiar voice bellows into your neck.
“I’ve got you now, sweetheart.” He murmurs against your flesh this time, sending shivers down your spine. The long familiar hair tickles at your collar bone as his arms wrap tighter around you. This time causing a very needed friction between you and this mystery man.
“Mmm, go ahead angel, make yourself feel good.” He says again before removing his face from the crook of your neck and revealing himself to you.
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
You pop up out of bed, removing your sleep mask before you slam your hand down on the obnoxious alarm clock sitting on your side table.
You feel a wetness in your panties when you go to stand up and it’s as if a flash goes off in your mind and you’re taken back to the dream you were just awoken from. Eddie, your drug dealer in nothing but blue jeans, his hair wrapped in a low bun and his big muscular chest dripping with sweat as he held you against his body protectively.
You look back over towards your bed, eyes glancing over the book you fell asleep reading. You couldn’t deny the man on the cover looked pretty close in comparison to eddie, long hair and the same exact attire as he was wearing in your dream. The man had a smirk on his face that was almost identical to the usual smirk eddie always had when you’d buy your weed from him.
later that day you find yourself across town, at your local library; ready to check out any and every dirty romance novel with a man that in some capacity meets your dealers description. You couldn’t believe the crush that formed from one little dream, you’d been festering on thoughts of eddie all day and you need more ammo for these ongoing fantasies and the very welcomed dreams you might have tonight.
You’re able to find five books in total, and you just knew you were gonna whip through them all in one week. There was a hunger in your center that just needed to be satiated, and if you couldn’t have the real thing, then the next best will do just fine.
The next morning, you speed walk through the halls of Hawkins high, binder held tight to your body as you keep your head down just trying to get to biology in one piece, but you’re running late so your feet move frantically as you go over an excuse to give Mr. Sivertson before you breech his classroom door. As you become deeply lost in your thoughts you collide into another body who was rounding the corner, your binder falls out of your hands and on to the floor as the other persons hands catch you by your waist.
“Where’s the fire, sweetheart?” The all too familiar voice fills your ears and you freeze, eyes now level with an ozzy shirt and his statement leather jacket.
Eddie’s eyes glance down towards your stuff that fell into a messy pile between your feet, your heart hammers when he bends down to grab something. The smirk on his face tells you exactly what he’d found and now you just want to run back to where you came from, get in your car and drive to a whole new town.
“Whatcha got here?” He says through a dopey laugh, as if you’d been caught red handed. That’s exactly what’s happening.
“Didn’t think a church mouse like you would read these kinds of books.” He whispers, although you two are the only ones in the hall.
“I-I’m not a church mouse, and give me my book back.” You huff and snatch your book out of his heavily ringed hand, but your face was far too guilty and you knew that eddie knew exactly why you had these books in your possession.
You eventually side step him, not wanting to hear any of his teasing that you knew he’d readily dish out. Eddie wasn’t a bully per say but he was an asshole, a cocky asshole to be specific.
Once you’re out of biology, you speed walk to your locker. Ready to put this godforsaken book away until the end of the day, when you can read it in bed, cuddled up where no one would make fun of you. But as you open your locker a folded piece of paper falls out and hits the toe of your flat. you shove your binder into a cubbie before bending down to retrieve it.
Meet me behind the football field after school
- EM
Your stomach fills with butterflies as it simultaneously sinks into the depths of your ass.
Why would he want to meet up after school? Was he going to poke fun at you? Have you show his friends your book so they could all laugh at you?
But another part of your brain said:
What if this is it? What if he really wants you? Maybe he’ll kiss you? Maybe you can finally feed this hunger.
That was all you needed to make your split decision.
After school, you grab your book from your locker and make a beeline for the football field. Bypassing quick goodbyes from your friends.
When you finally make it to the tree line, you exhale a deep breath you hadn’t realized you’d been holding, then you take a few deeper steps into the desolate woods. No one else came back here except for one infamous metalhead, so you knew you wouldn’t be met with any asshole jocks. That settled your stomach a bit, but not fully.
You see the back of Eddie’s head first as he sits on the old warped, wooden bench; hunched over as if in concentration. When you move closer, walking around the rickety table you can now see that he’s breaking up a nug of weed and placing it into a zig zag before rolling it up, snug.
Your eyes meet when he glides his tongue along the lining, he smirks up at you as your eyes gawk at the movements of his pink muscle, licking up and down. You can’t help but to squeeze your thighs together, that burning in your core blazes hot and he hasn’t even touched you.
Your eyes flicker back up into his and you realize that he’s watching you, watch him.
In a moment of faux confidence, you ask—
“What’s with the letter in my locker, Munson? I thought I was the one that was supposed to put the letters in your locker when I want to smoke.” You shoot him a weak smile, making him scoff as he puts the joint behind his ear for safe keeping.
“Are you gonna sit your ass down and smoke this with me or not?” He huffs, pulling a zippo lighter out of his leather jacket pocket and flipping the lid open and closed, open and closed. Is-is that a nervous tick? Is he nervous, too?
You lower yourself onto the seat in front of him, taking on your own nervous tick of picking at your nails.
He takes the joint from behind his ear, his eyes never leaving your form and it has you cowering deeper into yourself. He lights the spliff and inhales deep, holding it in for a second and then letting the smoke bellow out of his nose and mouth. You can’t deny how undeniably sexy he is.
“So, those little slutty novels you have—” He starts
“They’re not slutty! They’re romance novels, Eddie!” You screech in embarrassment, as your cheeks heat up from the deep cackle he makes in your expense.
“Yeah yeah, princess. Tell me, do they fuck in these romance novels?” He throws weak quotation marks up for the last two words, as his eyebrows shoot up under his bangs in question.
“Well, I mean…yeah they do.” You respond with a defeated slump of your shoulders.
“Mhm, just as I suspected. Slutty.” The way he sing-songs ‘slutty’ makes you fall into a fit of giggles, and the noise is music to Eddie’s ears.
“So uh, do you want me to make you feel better than those shitty books ever could?”

Eddie Munson x Best Friend!Reader
Summary: You've been crushing on Eddie since you joined Hellfire Club. Too bad he's crushing on Chrissy Cunningham...right?
Warnings: angst to fluff, idiots in love, super cheesy but it's Valentine's Day so idc WC: 1.6k A/N: My entry for @corroded-hellfire's This is Music! event!

Eddie’s looking at her again.
You can’t blame him; he’d be crazy not to stare at Chrissy Cunningham, clad in her tiny cheerleading uniform with a bouncy blonde ponytail and sugar-sweet giggle. If you just ignore him, act like he isn’t imagining sweeping her off of her feet–
“Do you think I should send her one of those candy gram things?”
Almost instinctively, Dustin’s eyes flicker to you, but he turns back to Eddie before anyone can notice. “I don’t know if that’s a good idea,” he stammers, scrambling for an excuse. “She and Jason, like, just broke up.”
This information doesn’t deter Eddie in the slightest. “Exactly. She’s probably heartbroken from getting dumped right before Valentine’s Day. I could be her…Freak in Shining Armor.” He grins at his spin on the unwanted nickname, pausing for a half-second before turning to you and asking, “You’re a girl. What do you think?”
The question is almost laughable. What do you think? You think he should stop pining over Chrissy and start seeing you in that same light.
With a painful swallow, you force a strained smile. “If you like her, you should go for it.”
That’s all of the motivation Eddie needs. He slams his palm on the table and proudly declares, “All right, I’m doin’ it.”
Tears bite at your lash line as he strides across the cafeteria over to where the student council has set up the candy gram booth. You feel a gentle hand on your shoulder, and you glance over to see Dustin offering you a sympathetic look.
“He’s an idiot,” he says, low enough so that his words are inaudible to other Hellfire members. “He’ll figure it out one day, but you shouldn’t sit around waiting for it to happen.”
Logic tells you that he’s right, but moving on is easier said than done. Especially when he’s one of your closest friends.
Determined to avoid any inquiring from the other guys, you do your best to assimilate into their conversation about beating this week’s campaign.
Tumblr media
Chrissy received Eddie’s candy gram on Valentine’s Day. To his dismay, she also got one from Jason Carver.
“Of course she went back to him,” Eddie mutters, tossing his tin lunch box on the cafeteria table with a harsh clang. He heaves a sigh and rests his head on your shoulder, gazing up at you with his big, beautiful eyes. “Am I gonna be alone forever?”
“Probably.” You muster a tense laugh and brush a tendril of his hair off of your cheek. “Maybe you can try sending out a message in a bottle and see if anyone bites.”
He harrumphs and slumps over, burying his face in his palms. “She told me she ‘appreciates my friendship.’” He shakes his head. “Fucking humiliating.”
The irony of his statement is too much to bear, and you slip away from the table with a half-hearted excuse about needing to study for the history test you have next period.
The walk to the library feels like it takes decades, silent tears falling as soon as you find an empty table among the stacks of books.
Chrissy wanted Jason the way Eddie wanted Chrissy, which was the same way you wanted Eddie.
And no one wanted you.
A few minutes pass before Jeff slides into the seat next to you. “We’re in the same history class. Figured it would make your lie more believable if I had to study, too.” He shrugs. “Plus, I wanted to check on you.”
“I’m fine.”
He doesn’t believe you, you know he doesn’t. Embarrassment is written all over your face, both at your abrupt exit from the cafeteria and your pathetic crush on Eddie.
Jeff takes a deep breath. “Look, Eddie doesn’t know what he wants.”
“Seems pretty obvious to me that he wants Chrissy,” you say wryly, twirling a pen between your fingers.
“No…I mean, yeah. But that’s because she’s, like, safe.”
You scoff. “Asking out the Queen of Hawkins High is safe?”
“Sounds ridiculous, I know, but hear me out.” Jeff leans in a bit closer so he can whisper to you. “She’s not part of our group, so he doesn’t have to worry about constantly hanging out with her. Plus, she’s nice enough to not publicly destroy his ego. I’m sure she didn’t tell Jason about the candy gram, or else he would’ve announced it to the whole school by now.”
You nod in reluctant agreement.
“And speaking of that jackass,” Jeff continues, “how many times have they broken up and gotten back together?”
“Too many to count.” Their relationship is like one of the novelas you watch when you’re stuck at home with a fever.
“Exactly.” Jeff exhales. “Chrissy paid a little bit of attention to Eddie because she wanted some weed for a party, and now he’s head over heels for her. Because he can be. Because her rejection stings a little, but it’s nothing compared to how being rejected by you would feel.”
Wiping at your tear-dampened cheeks, you shake your head. “I don’t think he cares about being rejected by me.”
He mumbles something under his breath but doesn’t say another word until the bell rings, and the two of you walk to class together.
Thank God you don’t actually have a test today; you wouldn’t be able to focus long enough to answer a single question. All you think about is what Jeff had implied: that Eddie does like you but is afraid to ruin your friendship.
You brush off the idea as ridiculous. Why would Eddie choose you over the gorgeous head cheerleader?
Uneasiness builds within you until it’s impossible to ignore, and you scrawl a note in the back of your composition notebook before you can fully think it through.
Eddie–
I’m sorry that Chrissy turned you down. Trust me when I say that I know what it’s like to feel unwanted by the person you want the most. It sucks, but you’ll move on and realize that she was the one who missed out, not you.
You sign your name and add a P.S. Fuck Valentine’s Day for good measure, folding the paper in fourths and slipping it into his locker between class periods. Not quite a confession, but it’ll do.
Tumblr media
Eddie’s waiting by your locker after the last bell rings, scraping a front tooth against his bottom lip and fiddling with something. As you get closer, you realize that something is your note.
“Who is he?” Eddie demands to know, sighing impatiently when you raise your brows in confusion. “This mystery guy who doesn’t want you. Who is he?”
“No one. It’s fine,” you say quickly, refusing to make eye contact with him as you twist open the lock. “It was just to let you know that you’re not alone in this, okay?”
He shakes his head and chuckles tersely. “Nah, not okay. I’ve gotta kick his ass.” He shuffles from foot to foot, already anticipating a fight.
“Well, you can’t.”
“And why not?” Eddie scoffs. “I know I’m scrawny, but I’m pretty damn scr–”
“Because you’d be kicking your own ass!” The words fly out of your mouth before you can stop them. Your blood runs cold and your pulse thuds in your ears when you realize what you’ve said. “I’m sorry. That was too much, especially with what happened with Chrissy today.”
You start to leave, but you’re tugged back in place by his gentle grasp on your wrist. “Follow me,” he murmurs. He makes a beeline for the Hellfire room with you right on his heels. As soon as you walk in, he closes the door. “Repeat that? Because I don’t think I heard you right.”
“You’re the guy who doesn’t want me,” you manage through the lump in your throat, “and it’s okay, because we can’t help who we like and who we don’t. I don’t want you to feel guilty or anything like that.”
You’re rambling, and you tuck your lips into your mouth to stop yourself from talking yourself in circles.
Silence seeps into the room, the only noise is the hum from the fluorescent lights overhead. Finally, Eddie speaks again. “Do you know why I asked you to join Hellfire?”
You swivel your head back and forth in a definite no.
“Yeah, I tried to keep it that way,” he says with an awkward laugh, scratching the back of his neck. “So, um, I kinda had a massive crush on you. And I figured that we’d get to know each other here and then I’d ask you out or whatever, but I kept chickening out. So…there ya have it.” He shifts his hands as if to say ta-da.
“And now you like Chrissy.” Out with the old, in with the new.
Eddie takes a small step closer, one ring-clad hand taking yours. “Not the way I like you,” he breathes, his other thumb tracing a faint line over your jaw. “Not even close.”
You close the gap between you, tilting your head so your lips meet his. The fear that he’ll hesitate or turn his head altogether disappears as soon as he pulls you closer, deepening the kiss. His hand tucks behind your ear, and he leaves it there until you both have to break away for air.
The two of you wear matching smiles, shy but relieved. Eddie leans in to kiss you once again, only to be interrupted by the rest of the club’s musings.
“Took them long enough.”
“Seriously, I thought we were just gonna have to watch them pine over each other forever.”
“Crap, do you think they can hear us?”
“Yeah, shit-heads, we can hear you,” Eddie calls out with a laugh, shaking his head in disbelief before turning back to you.
“Now, where were we?”

Eddie came out to Steve and Robin shortly after he got out of hospital. Robin came out to him first, and she made it clear Steve was accepting of her.
Eddie still worried though, because he knew guys could be just fine with lesbians but still get on the defensive when it came to gay guys existing around them He didn't want to believe that of Steve, not after everything they'd been through together, but he couldn't be sure all the same.
When he did finally manage to get the words out, he tried to sound casual, like it was no big deal, but of course he failed. In a lull in the conversation, Steve still mid-laugh from the last thing Robin said, Eddie just blurted it out. "I'm gay."
Just that. Those two words. Robin sat upright and yelled at him, something along the lines of "Why didn't you tell me before?" but Eddie wass too busy looking at Steve's reaction to answer her.
He watched as Steve's face fell, as the sparkle in his eyes dulled and his brows pulled together. Eddie felt his heart break a little, braced himself for rejection.
"Relax, man," he added, heart racing, saying anything he could think of to make Steve act normal about this. "Don't get your panties in a twist, Harrington. Just because I like guys doesn't mean I'm gonna turn around and hit on you, no offense but you're not my type."
It was a fucking lie, of course. At least partially. Because Steve wasn't Eddie's usual type, but that had stopped mattering the moment Eddie watched him bite that bat in half and it mattered even less with every subsequent interaction they had. The truth was, Eddie had it bad for Steve.
Steve took a moment, expression slowly filtering from whatever his initial reaction had been to something more supportive.
"Gee, thanks," he said, voice dripping with sarcasm. "Good to know." Eddie sighed with relief. Steve reached out and rested a hand on Eddie's shoulder and Eddie did his best not to lean into the touch.
And they don't mention it again.
---
Steve had been trying to work up the courage to ask Eddie out for months. Every time Eddie bumped shoulders with him while they walked, every time he heard the sound of Eddie's guitar through an open window before he knocked on the door, every time they were alone together and Eddie was gesturing wildly talking about something Steve knew nothing about, Steve wanted to kiss him.
It was almost background noise after a while, but when Robin made it clear Eddie knew about her, that he was cool with it, that he'd been supportive, the feeling had exploded into something more.
Steve was embarrassed to say he was probaby just one of Eddie's blinding grins in his direction away from finding a notebook for the express purpose of scribbling the words Steve Munson, SH❤️EM all over the margins.
Maybe he could ask Eddie out, and maybe he wouldn't cut Steve off immediately, but there was a big difference between a girl coming out to you and some guy hitting on you directly, so Steve was waiting for the right time, when he could beat a hasty retreat and maintain some dignity if it went bad.
And then Eddie came out.
Steve felt himself freeze, hope fizzing in his chest as he tried his best not to look too giddy with excitement at the idea. He'd barely processed the words when Eddie said the rest.
No offense, but you're not my type
The hope which had previously started to blossom shrivelled up and died, while Steve stumbled through what he hoped was a supportive response. He wanted to make it clear that Eddie had nothing to fear from him, even while his heart broke.
Eddie liked guys.
Eddie just didn't like him.
Steve had been rejected before, but it had never stung like this.

love confessions in line
Another stupid little thing because I’m in the car and bored. It’s not edited or really anything much beyond just putting these boys in love in situations.
Rated t | tags: love confessions, established relationship, robin being so fed up with them
————————
“Why do we have to be here so early? My dinner hasn’t even digested properly yet,” Robin complained.
And, okay. It was cold and there were a lot of people standing in line outside of the only Walmart carrying the very specific guitar amp Eddie wanted. He’d called every Walmart in Indiana. Multiple times.
But he had to go all out for Christmas this year. Eddie had already said he’d gotten Steve something he’ll never outdo, never even believe. Obviously, that meant Steve had to do better than the Metallica hoodie that was stashed in his closet for the last four months.
“It’ll be worth it. There’s hardly anyone in line ahead of us and if we go straight to the electronics in the back—“
“You mean where everyone is going?” Robin interrupted, folding her arms across her chest.
Steve sighed.
“Yeah, well. I’ll run. It’ll be fine. I doubt anyone else here is interested in a guitar amp.”
As if the words ‘guitar amp’ were magic, someone who looked a lot like Eddie walked up to one of the security officers standing by the front doors.
Robin noticed at the same time as him.
“Is that…?”
“It can’t be. He said he was going fishing with Wayne in the morning and didn’t wanna end up stuck in crowds shopping,” Steve said.
But then the man turned back to the line.
“Steve?” Eddie yelled, eyes going wide when he realized Steve and Robin were there.
“Uh.”
“Um.”
“I thought you guys were going to Indy for this!” Eddie smiled as he walked up to them. “I don’t think this store will have what you’re lookin’ for.”
Steve panicked. There’s only one thing Eddie could be here for. He could go anywhere else. He could have stayed in Hawkins for that matter.
“Uh. Just wanted a change of scenery.”
Eddie’s brows furrowed as his smile fell slightly.
“O…kay. Well, I’ve got an amp to buy so I guess we’re all in this together now.”
Steve ignored Robin’s snort and mumbling.
Eddie glanced over at her with a questioning face.
“You two are unbelievable. Truly.”
“What? Why?” Eddie asked, genuinely curious.
His finger traced along the back of Steve’s hand subtly, out of sight of the people behind them in line.
“I.” Steve sighed.
Oh well. Maybe he could just try to get concert tickets the next time Ozzy came to Chicago.
“I was gonna get the amp for you for Christmas. I’ve been planning it for weeks,” Steve said, looking down at the ground.
Eddie was surprisingly quiet.
Absolutely no response.
After a full minute, Steve made eye contact with him.
He had tears building in his eyes and Steve felt himself start to tear up, too.
“You were?” Eddie choked out. “But this is-“
“The only place selling it on sale in the state, yeah.”
Robin was grumbling to herself again, but neither of them were paying attention anymore.
“How did you even know?” Eddie asked after a deep, calming breath.
“You mentioned it last month after a gig. Said you needed a new one anyways and this was top of the line or something. That a lot of the bands you like were switching to this kind for studio recording or whatever because of the…crisp? Sound? And then when no one else was selling it at all, I had to call around the Walmarts to see who had it on sale because $300 is a lot of money, Eds, and I wish I could afford that, but I don’t really have that lying around after paying for school and rent so when this place finally said they’d have it for $100, I made Robin promise to come with me since you’d be busy. And I guess you’re not that busy, but. I needed to do my best to get it.”
Eddie’s smile grew the longer Steve rambled. Robin was already walking away, probably back to Steve’s car, halfway through his speech.
“I love you.”
Steve’s jaw dropped in shock.
They’d been saying it in every way except this way for months, nearly a year, really.
It started as Steve taking care of Eddie when everyone else was busy taking care of the Upside Down.
It kept going as Steve was the one listening to Eddie slowly pick the guitar back up, working through the crying about his fingers not working right or his arm getting tired too quickly.
And then five months ago, Steve kissed him.
Took the plunge and kissed him.
They’d done everything together since. They’d become boyfriends. They came out to their group, together, always together.
And now, in a Walmart parking lot during the busiest shopping day of the year, Eddie was telling Steve he loved him.
“Because of the amp?” Steve asked, hesitant.
Eddie knew what he was really asking.
Because I’m buying you something nice?
“No, sweetheart. Because you listen to me. You know what makes me happy. You’re doing something for me that no one else would have even bothered to try to do.” Eddie laughed. “I have never wanted to kiss you as much as I want to right now.”
“Not even that time I wore a crop top and your boxers?”
Eddie groaned. “That was an outlier. You know how that affected me.”
“Oh, I sure do,” Steve smirked. “Too bad we’re in public.”
“The doors open in an hour right?” Eddie asked, checking his watch.
“Yep.”
“And then you have to take Robin to her parent’s house?”
“Probably should.”
“And then what?” Eddie asked, already knowing exactly what.
“And then I’ll come to the trailer and I’ll walk right to your room and hopefully-“ Steve cut himself off to whisper the next part. “You’ll be naked.”
Eddie’s brows raised. “You want me naked? What about Wayne being home?”
“Wayne’s been sleeping with ear plugs for months now. Can’t hear a thing,” Steve pats Eddie’s blushing cheek. “Said he didn’t need to hear what his nephew got up to.”
“We really should just move my stuff into your new place,” Eddie suggested for the fifth time in as many days.
Steve wasn’t opposed at all.
In fact, he’d planned on asking him to move in once he got more settled.
But.
“Wayne wanted another Christmas with you at home, baby. He won’t say it, but when I brought up you moving in with me, I thought he was actually gonna cry.”
“Yeah, yeah. With this new amp, he’ll change his mind.”
“What makes you think you get this amp before Christmas?” Steve put his hands on his hips.
“Because now I know you’re getting it!”
“Uh-huh. And it’s getting wrapped with your other gift to be opened on Christmas morning. No early gifts on my watch.”
“Steeeeeeve. Please! I could use it at our show next week!”
Steve shook his head. “Your amp works fine. Christmas is only a month from now.”
“You’re getting revenge on me,” Eddie pouted.
“Revenge for what?” Steve snorted.
“You know what.”
Steve did. He felt his cheeks and neck heat up with a blush.
“Fine. Yes. Maybe it’s a little bit revenge.”
Eddie huffed, but didn’t argue further.
“You know I love you, too, right?” Steve whispered.
And Eddie forgot about everything else except the way Steve was looking at him, like he needed Eddie to understand how much he loved him.
“Yeah, sweetheart. I do.”
———————
Three days later, Steve set the amp up in the second bedroom of his rented house.
When Eddie came over, he pushed him into the room and wrapped his arms around his waist.
“You can play it here, but I’m still wrapping it up for Christmas and you aren’t allowed to bring it to shows until after. Okay?”
Eddie was bouncing on his toes and squeezing Steve’s hands so hard he was losing feeling.
“Okay! Thank you, thank you! I love you! Thank you!”
Eddie smacked a kiss on Steve’s cheek before pulling away and running to the amp.
“You need your guitar, honey,” Steve laughed.
“Right!” Eddie ran from the room to grab his guitar from his van.
Steve shook his head, but couldn’t help his fond smile as the front door banged open.

hiiii, I miss Eddie and Roan so much. Could you write something about them pleaseee? ❤️❤️❤️
eddie and roan try not to fall asleep while (almost stepmom) reader bakes a tray of brownies, 1.5k
Eddie can't sit on the couch, he lays down. He has ever since he can remember, and while he tried to be polite when he first moved in (unlike Roan, who made herself at home delightfully quickly), you're way past that now.
"You look uncomfortable," you fret, tilting your head to the side as you look down on him in concern. "You want a pillow?"
"I want you to lay down with me immediately," he says, making grabby hands at your stomach.
You refuse him with a stunning, angelic, beatific smile, the kind that makes him think fuck I should marry her, before he remembers he's already going to. If there's one thing about Eddie Munson, it's that he wholeheartedly believes that you're the prettiest woman he's ever met. Maybe you started that way, maybe he loves you so much you've metamorphosed into an intoxicating creature of good looks, but whatever it is, he's obsessed with it.
"Lie down with me," he demands.
"I'm gonna make little brownies," you say, shaking your head, "but I know someone for the job."
He's half expecting you to scoop Mr. Porterson out of his tank and hand him to Eddie in a cup, but you head upstairs to Roan's bedroom. He can hear your voice through the floor, and his daughter's answering gasp. She all but runs down the stairs, demarcated by you and Eddie shouting the same thing, "Don't run down the stairs, Ro!"
She's huffing and puffing by the time she gets to the living room, rounding the couch to stand in front of Eddie. "Hello," she huffs. "You need a hug?"
Eddie opens his arm and drags her in. He should say something cheesy and loving, like, don't I always? He's not a super serious guy, but it's been on his mind a little more often as the wedding approaches and Roan gets taller how lucky he is to have you both, and how things could be totally different. He never expected to be a dad and he honestly didn't want to be before he saw her little face.
Eddie remembers picking her up when she was still smaller than his arm, two inexperienced hands under her armpits raising her up because he realised he could.
Her legs scrunched up toward her chest and he thought, oh, my god. And now she clambers on his chest and does her pill bug curl with her knees, reminding him so much of her baby scrunch and the way her head smelled. He drapes a gentle arm behind her and tries to pour every ounce of love he possesses into his touch as he pats her shoulder, a steady thump, thump, thump.
"You smell nice," Roan accuses.
"That's weird. Maybe check again."
She sniffs him. "You smell yummy, like Y/N's shampoo."
He may have ran out of body wash, and he may have used a dollop of your shampoo. He doesn't think it'll matter in the grand scheme of things and all you're sharing, but he puts his finger to his lips. "Shh," he whispers, "don't tell."
"You said I'm not supposed to have secrets," Roan says.
"You're not." Eddie draws a line down her back just to hear her giggle. "Except this one."
"That's what you said about the last one."
"This one and that one, then." Not like she managed to keep that one secret, either. What was he thinking, telling his five year old he wanted to propose? She lost her mind aloud.
Then again, she spilled the beans and you immediately told Eddie he had to move in with you (he can't remember it perfectly now, but he's pretty sure you said, 'I think you better move in', which was just bossy enough to have him falling in love twice over).
"I don't like secrets," Roan says.
Her voice strengthens as she gets older, and her pronunciation of things grows smoother. Occasionally she speaks and she sounds much older than she is. Currently, she talks with a funny cadence, emphasis on things that don't need it and, and an underlying sense of awe like she can't believe what she's saying.
"Fine," Eddie says, pulling her closer still, "we won't keep this one secret. But if she shouts at me I'm going to have to sleep in your room tonight."
"I'll sleep with Y/N."
"No, because I'll need you to dry my tears."
Roan nods into his chest, the faux silk of her sleeve shushing against his shirt as she brings a hand up to his hair. "Okie dokie," she says, twisting one of his curls around her fingers. "But don't cry."
"I'll try not to, sweetheart."
She smiles and relaxes fully into his arms.
"Are you tired?" he asks.
"Don't think so."
"You've already got your jammies on. You don't want a bath tonight?" He's feeling affectionate for his life, adding, "Mommy has new bubble bath, it smells like chamomile. I'm sure she'd love to share with you."
"Yeah?"
"Mm-hmm." His eyes are getting heavy. Maybe he's tired. The thought of a bubble bath almost puts him to sleep.
"Don't fall asleep," Roan whispers.
"I'm not, Ro. Just resting my eyes. You don't have to stay and cuddle if you're busy."
"I like you," she says.
"I like you too."
—
Little brownies are the best thing ever. You make a very wet brownie batter and pour it thin in a big baking sheet. You barely cook them, and then when they're cooled and cut you freeze them, and when they defrost (at a time of your choosing) they're perfect for eating or putting into Roan's school lunchbox. You set the last tupperware of them into the freezer and wipe your cold hands on a dish towel, happy.
It's a bit strange, but before you met your Munsons, you had no idea how peaceful it could feel to have done something for someone else. You weren't an overly selfish creature but there's this unnameable feeling that comes with doing this kind of 'chore'. Taking care of the people you love…
Well, it feels good. Not as good as this is about to feel, you guess, turning off the kitchen light and locking the front door as you go. Eddie and Roan lay on the couch with the TV set to a loud volume. You'd assumed they'd both be awake, but it seems they've fallen asleep despite the odds. You're gonna languish in it with them just as soon as you can tetris your way into the pile.
Roan has crawled up the length of her dad's chest to press her cheek to his, and Eddie's wrapped his arms around her tightly, tucking her in with nowhere to turn.
You can't fit into their cuddle pile without disturbing the peace, but you can't be expected to abstain, surely.
You sink down onto the floor by Eddie's head, bringing your hand to his sleeping face. Careful, you stroke a twisted baby hair against his forehead, the dark kink of it like a thread through pale skin.
Roan stirs, or wasn't as asleep as you thought. She yawns wide, lips smacking as she asks, "What are you doing?"
You grin at her loud whisper. "Just looking. You okay?"
"He's squeezing me."
"Too much?"
"No, I like it. I feel like a sardine."
"Yeah?" You rest your upper body on the couch, her pyjama top satiny under your hand. "You like it? You're not claustrophobic?"
She gives you a daunted look.
"It means squished, pretty much," you say..
"I like it," she reaffirms. Roan pulls her arm out of Eddie's grasp to touch yours. "Dad says I can have some bubble bath."
"Of course you can, princess. You know you can have anything of mine." Except the top shelf stuff, but she can't reach that high. "I left you some brownies for ice cream."
"You did?"
"Yeah, I did." You meet her eyes, formidable baby browns that you never stood a chance against. Her cheek is warm as you lean in for a quick peck. "You're beautiful. I love you."
Roan gasps happily. "You're beautiful-er!"
"Thanks," Eddie mumbles, smirking as he starts to wake from his nap.
"Time d'you call this, Eds?" you ask fondly.
He turns his face one way and the other, agonised. "Oh, but I was so cozy! My girl is so soft and she's pretty much my blanket, and she was being so nice to me!" He sighs, a picture of distress, his voice croaky with the edge of sleep. "Can you ever forgive me?"
"Sure!" Roan says, laughing.
"Just this once."
He squints at you. "This is pretty much your fault anyways."
"You'll forgive me. Please?" He leans up for a kiss. "S'what I thought," you say into his lips.
You nudge him back and squeeze onto the couch. He has to go on his side for you to for and Roan ends up half on top of you, a knee jabbed into your stomach. Still, it's fine for now. Your quiet desire to be cuddled with them is abated, a strong arm behind your back and a much smaller hand sneaking inside your shirt sleeve to warm the attached, similarly small fingers.

it's 2004 when steve finds himself back in hawkins for the first time since he moved away for good. he has a master's degree under his belt, a mortgage on a house outside of st. louis with a dog and picket fence, and a rockstar that wormed his way into his heart next to him in bed every night. he's closer to 50 than he is to 20 and life feels good, life feels settled, figured out in a way he never thought he'd get to see.
"you gonna tell me why you're shakin' like a leaf?"
but sitting across from wayne munson and his sharp gaze is enough to make him feel like a teenager again.
steve takes a sip from his glass of water before setting it down on the end table next to him and watches the way wayne's finger taps against the side of his coffee cup. it's like he's keeping rhythm with something that steve can't hear, like a drum beat in his head that proves that he's the reason eddie has musical talent.
"i'm fine," he responds back to wayne, a stilted smile crossing his face. wayne's gaze deepens like he he doesn't believe him. "i'm fine!"
there's a clock ticking somewhere in the living room and the faucet in the kitchen is dripping quietly and it makes the silence that falls between them even more deafening. steve takes in a deep breath and nods absently as he rubs his palms over his denim clad knees.
"is he in trouble?" wayne asks in a gruff voice, low and to the point. steve shakes his head immediately, stutters out something that sounds like no, and wayne looks at him with his eyebrows pinched together. "are you in trouble?"
"no, it's not-" steve stands up and paces out some of his nerves, hands shoved into his pockets so that he stops waving them around. he sighs and looks back at wayne. "it's nothing bad."
"if it ain't bad, then just say it."
steve groans and runs his hands through his hair. it's harder to do this than he thought it would be, quite possibly the hardest thing he's done in years and that's including having to admit to eddie that he does indeed like the stupid beard he grew as a dare from jeff. wayne is still staring at him with a determined look, like he won't let steve get away with any of his usual charming bullshit, and looks so much like eddie that it makes something in his heart explode.
"fine! i'm asking eddie to marry me and i need your permission or something. happy old man?" he finally says, or well, shouts. it's too loud in the quiet house and he can see wayne wince from the decibel he reaches but it's out. it's off his chest and he's finally said it.
and wayne is smiling.
seeing him smile is strange, not because he doesn't look good with a smile, but because it's not often that steve gets to bear witness to it. it starts off slow, clipped at the edges before it spreads to his cheeks and crinkles his eyes. steve's breathing hard when wayne stands up and wraps his hands around the tops of his shoulders. he can feel himself shaking under wayne's grip and from this close, he can see the tears that he knows wayne is fighting against.
"it's about damn time, boy. took you two long enough to pull your heads outta your backsides."
getting hugged by wayne is almost weirder than seeing him smile. it's short, to the point, with pats on backs and chuckles that break loose from steve's too tight chest. part of him wishes eddie were here to let him be a part of the moment, but it would ruin the surprise he's so carefully planned, so he revels in the rare time between just the two of them.
"had to wait for somewhere to allow it first, wayne," steve mutters as they pull apart and he feels hope unfurl somewhere within him when he says it.
"well, alright, i guess you're off that hook then. but y'know," wayne's sitting back down in his arm chair and steve does the same, matching grins plastered on their faces. "you don't need my permission. that boy is crazy over you and if you think you ain't a part of this family already, then you're crazier than he is."
steve looks around at the pictures on the shelf behind wayne's head. sees young eddie and wayne with arms around each other, sees a makeshift graduation picture, an out of focus one of the two of them outside their house in missouri, one of all three of them around the chritmas tree in '99 when they had wayne come down to see them, and he thinks, yeah. they're already a family. at least now it'll be paper official.

Odd One Out Part 1 (Eddie Munson x Reader)
Tumblr media
Masterlist   All Parts
Eddie Munson x Cheerleader! Reader (She/Her)
Warnings: A joke about a hand job oop-
Synopsis: Eddie spots the cheerleaders looking at him and laughing but when one of them comes up to him to explain what they were talking about, he finds out that maybe not all the popular girls were exactly the same
Y/N notes: none
Wanna be on the Eddie Munson tag list? Look here!
Wanna request something? Look here!
Eddie’s eyebrows furrowed as he spotted the cheerleaders looking at his table. One of them, Y/N, was softly pointing in his direction. She seemed to be describing or explaining something, probably about him. Her hands moved around as she continued to speak. He had no idea what she said but the result was the rest of the girls laughing and shaking their heads.
It didn’t really matter what she was saying. It was just the popular kids making fun of the freak once again. But the frustrated look on Y/N’s face after the girls’ reaction made Eddie curious.
She looked back at him, making her realise that the metal head was in fact somewhat aware of her talking about him. She looked guilty.
Another cheerleader at the table stood up and began walking towards the Hellfire club, making Y/N seem to panic more. The closer she got, the more close attention the basketball boys watched, glaring at the nerds.
“My friend thinks you’re hot.” As soon as the words left her mouth, the girls erupted with laughter. Eddie nodded.
“Yeah veeeeeery funny.” Y/N slammed her hands down on the table and got up. She stormed over to her friend and gave her shoulder a little push, signalling her to go back and sit down. Her anger melted away as she turned to Eddie.
“I am SO sorry about my friends.” Eddie shrugged and gave her a smile, playing it cool even though he couldn’t believe what he was hearing. None of the popular kids had ever apologised to him. And he could tell from her face and tone of voice that she meant it.
“It’s fine I’m used to it. You cheer girls have your fun talking shit about the nerds-“
“No you don’t get it. I wasn’t making fun of you.” That’s when Eddie sat up in his seat.
“So… what were you saying?” Eddie quirked an eyebrow. Y/N sighed and pulled out the empty chair next to him to sit down. Oooooohs could be heard from the popular kids as they watched Y/N’s every move. She rolled her eyes.
“I’ll tell you but you gotta promise me you’re not gonna annoyingly poke fun like those guys.” Eddie nodded. Y/N sighed hard before starting her explanation. “We were just talking about guys at our school-“
“As you walking stereotypes do.” Eddie commented. Y/N gave him a small glare. He purses his lips together and mimicked a zip going across them.
“Mostly bringing up the basketball team, a couple random guys from classes… then I mentioned you. And not as a joke.” Eddie couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
“Why the hell would you, Y/N L/N, talk about me? I’m not exactly a jock-“
“That’s the thing though!” Y/N excitedly interjected, leaning closer to him and pointing like she did earlier. “You could be.”
“Me? Like one of those basketball assholes?”
“No listen. If you cut your hair short, wore the outfit. You’d be just like them.” Eddie scoffed. “It’s true though! You’re tall, you gotta bit of muscle, a pretty face. If you really wanted you could have those cheerleaders all over you.”
“Y-You… you think I have a pretty face?”
“Oh come on Eddie I’m not blind. Just because the other cheerleaders can’t see past the metal head look doesn’t mean I’m that way too.” She smiled as she stood back up. “Well I’m gonna go and sit back with my judgemental friends.”
Eddie watched her walk back and glare at the group of preps as they continued to giggle. Some of the basketball guys stood up to surround her too.
“So you ask him out L/N?” One guy jokingly said, making sure it was loud enough for Eddie to hear.
“What’s that Y/N? You’re gonna jerk him off behind the school?” The group laughed. Y/N didn’t look embarrassed. She just looked done.
“I almost feel sorry for her.” Mike commented. The rest of the Hellfire group had been observing the whole exchange, finally deciding to speak up.
“Doesn’t even look like she’s their friend.” Dustin added. Lucas nodded.
“More like their punching bag.” Eddie nodded in agreement. He caught her eye once again. She gave him a soft smile.
She was like a Princess stuck in a tower, trapped by a bunch of tiny dragon assholes taunting her.
And he needed to save her.

"don’t hog the blanket." (bonus if it's pre-relationship teehee)
chimney insists it isn’t a destination wedding, since he and maddie went to the courthouse the day after he proposed and made it official.
(“just—you know. tomorrow isn’t promised, and all that,” he’d said, and the gathered frontrunners of the guinness world record for most deaths evaded, also known as his closest friends and colleagues, had nodded.
“and we don’t want to do a whole big thing, anyway,” he’d added. “we have a kid and a house. there are approximately seventy-three betters ways for us to spend that kind of money, and that’s just off the top of my head.”)
but everyone agreed there should be something—some way of celebrating their marriage, and maybe also the fact that they’re all still alive. as time goes by, it feels more and more like something to celebrate.
there’s some arguing, several votes, and some creative scheduling on bobby’s part, and they end up with a long weekend at an airbnb an hour outside of los angeles, spouses invited but children not.
buck drives them both up, because of course he does. the only discussion had been what time should i pick you up? and eddie tries to ignore it, like he always tries to ignore the way he and buck default to each other time and time again.
it doesn’t mean anything, he tells himself. it’s just that you’ve been friends for so long, and know each other so well, and sometimes when you close your eyes you imagine him—
it doesn’t mean anything, he tells himself. everything is fine.
they leave after maddie finishes a shift, and get in around dinner time. straws are drawn over who gets to make dinner, and bobby emerges the lucky winner.
“why don’t the rest of you get settled in the meantime?” he suggests. “i’ll be quick.”
maddie starts handing out room keys, although eddie’s not entirely sure why any of them will need a bedroom door that locks.
he’s also not entirely sure he wants to find out.
“oh,” maddie says, looking up at him and buck. “i thought—hm. there’s not as many rooms as i thought there’d be.”
buck frowns. “meaning?”
“can you two share a room?” maddie asks. “just—everyone else is. well. married.” she laughs a little, then looks down at the floor, self-conscious. chimney shows up out of nowhere to press a kiss to her temple.
eddie blinks. he’d known this, of course, on an objective, rational level—but it hits him now, standing in the living room of this airbnb with it’s large windows for gorgeous natural light and whatever the fuck else the description had said.
everyone else is married.
everyone else is married, but more often than not he and buck are treated as an equivalent unit anyway. despite not being married. despite not even being—
“yeah, no problem,” buck says, then turns to look at eddie, something hiding behind the grin on his face. “just don’t hog the blanket.”
eddie scoffs. “you’re one to talk.”
“okay, excuse me,” buck says, “i have never woken with the entire blanket hidden behind my back—”
“that was one time—”
“okay,” maddie says, holding the key out to buck and trying and failing to cover up a laugh. “so you’ll be fine, then.”
yeah, eddie thinks. definitely. it’ll be fine.
and he manages to believe it all the way through dinner, and a surprisingly intense round of charades. he believes it all the way through changing into the pyjamas he’s glad he thought to bring, focusing on organising the pairs of socks in his duffel bag so he doesn’t accidentally catch a glimpse of buck.
then they crawl into bed, eddie avoiding looking at buck so intently that he doesn’t notice buck avoiding looking at him, and—
“you’re doing it,” buck grumbles. “you’re hogging the blanket.”
“am not,” eddie shoots back. “you’re hogging the blanket. i barely have any of it.”
“stop yanking,” buck says. “maybe if you weren’t so far away—”
“you’re far away,” eddie says without thinking, and beside him, buck huffs.
“i’m just gonna—” he mutters, then shuffles around, until suddenly his arm is thrown over eddie’s waist and his face is pressed to eddie’s shoulder. his feet tangle with eddie’s, and the blanket settles comfortably over both of them.
“there,” buck mumbles. “room for both of us.”
eddie makes a noise, one that he hopes buck will interpret as assent. as anything, really, other than what it is, which is eddie’s brain short-circuiting at the feeling of buck’s chest against his back. the weight of buck’s arm on him, and the way buck’s hand has slipped just under the hem of eddie’s t-shirt, his warm fingers splayed against the bare skin of eddie’s stomach. he’s pretty sure that when they get out of bed in the morning, the shape of buck’s hand will be seared into his skin.
he’s imagined this, once or twice before. what it would be like to share a life with buck, to have all these liminal moments he misses out on with the way things are now, the almost-but-not-quite that they never talk about. he’s imagined it, and if felt just like this, right down to how cold buck’s toes are when they brush against his legs and how eddie can’t bring himself to pull away.
but it doesn’t mean anything, eddie tells himself. everything is fine.
only—buck settles in closer and sighs, and eddie, who has spent years listening to every sound buck makes, recognises this one.
this is the sound buck makes when he’s home.
only one bed prompts 🛏️

Got Your Number
Summary: You’re Steve Harrington’s older sister and after a rough and tumultuous breakup, you’re back in Hawkins, Indiana. 🌶️
Pairing: Harrington!reader x Eddie Munson
Author’s notes: I REALLY tried hard to make this one into two, but it just started flowing and I felt like it made more sense like this. I know it’s a lot going on but I don’t know I couldn’t stop. Hope y’all like it ❤️
Warnings: 18+ (Minors DNI!!), language, drinking, smoking, smut, etc., anxious feelings talked about a lot
Word count: 9.5k and I am not sorry LOL
VI.
The shrill sound of the phone in your bedroom woke you up the next morning. You groaned as the light peeked through the pink curtains that had hung over the same windows for most of your life. You let it ring, and ring, and ring. Finally it stopped. Then it started again. Everyone must be gone for the day.
“Harrington residence?” You asked, sleep thick in your voice. You drank a sip of water as you waited for the caller to finally reveal themselves.
“Hey.” It was Eddie, and he sounded rough. “Good morning, I mean. Or, whatever time it is.” He chuckled, but you didn’t return the laughter.
“‘Morning.” You said, as you plopped back onto your bed, twirling the cord around your finger.
“I’m really sorry about last night. Like, incredibly sorry. Your brother laid into me last night and Hopper has already called me this morning too.”
“Oh, so you wouldn’t have apologized if Steve and Hopper wouldn’t have made you?” Your attitude was strong this morning, and you already knew you’d regret being this bitchy to him as soon as you asked the question.
“They didn’t make me, Jesus. I’m just admitting I know I was an asshole to you, I got way too drunk last night, and I can’t believe I did that instead of worrying about where you were and what was going on with you and Caleb out there. M’sorry. I really am.”
“It’s not okay, Eddie. If that’s what you want me to say.” He sighed at the same time you did. “I don't think you get how scary last night was for me. Having not only Charlie there, but all of his friends too? They could’ve all easily taken me off and something would’ve happened.”
“I said I was sorry.” He said, his voice was quick.
“And I’m saying okay, I hear you, but I don’t know what you want me to say back, Eddie. I’m pissed off that you were so irresponsible.”
“Thanks for the congratulations on being asked to sign to a label.” He scoffed out after a few moments of silence.
“Fuck, what has gotten into you? Where is this attitude coming from?” You snapped at him as you sat up in your bed. “Did you just call me to see how mad you could make me again today? This is not what I signed up for, Eddie.”
“What do you think you signed up for, then?”
“A nice boyfriend for one. One that was my best friend, and he was never mean to me, or-”
“What about all of those times in high school-”
“FUCK, Eddie. It’s too early for this bullshit. I’m hanging up, and whenever you can figure out what the hell crawled up your ass, then we can talk. Bye.”
Fuck, you didn’t know what had gotten into him. A few seconds after you hung up the phone, it rang again.
“What?!?” You answered.
“You are just like your brother with the attitude, damn.” It was Dustin, you could tell by the slight lisp in his voice.
“Oh my God, I’m so sorry. Eddie just called me and he was… he was being a jerk, so I thought it was him calling me back yet again.”
“No, it’s just me. I was calling you because I think we figured something out with him.”
“Is he gonna be okay?”
“Yeah, he’ll be fine. We actually called the lab, or what’s left, and told them what was going on. He just needs to go and uh, talk to them about it. El said she can’t see where anything is like…” he laughed to himself before continuing on, “I sound crazy saying this, but there’s nothing in his head that we should worry about. Like before, Vecna kinda got in peoples heads before he’d kill them or something but she can’t see him in Eddie’s, so he’s really dead. She said she used her powers last night, and she can kind of… eavesdrop in on dreams or something basically, and she was there in his last night to check on him and uh, it was pretty fucked up.”
You stayed silent for a few moments, “so the scars hurting don’t mean anything?”
“No, they’re probably just healing still, and the dreams are so intense he’s probably re-feeling it all again too.”
Shit. You kinda, actually sorta felt really bad for him now. He was probably worked up this morning more from his dreams than anything else, and you didn’t even think about that, but he still didn’t need to be an asshole to you.
“Hey Dustin, I need to go. Thanks for calling, I’m sure I’ll see you soon!” You hung up before you had a chance to hear him get out the last few words. You dialed Eddie’s number, and he picked up on the second ring, sounding much calmer.
“Hello? Munson here.”
“Hey.” You said quietly.
“Hey.” He matched your tone of voice.
“Sorry, I forgot how bad mornings can be for you and I’m sure-”
“No, you don’t have to apologize. Please don’t. I was an asshole right after I told you I wasn’t like him. I did have a bad night but I shouldn’t have taken that out on you. Sometimes I wake up from a nightmare and because of the panic I can act completely differently. I’m sorry if that scared you.” He sounded a little somber. “I understand if you’re mad at me.”
“I’ll get over it.” You laid back on the pillows of your bed again, and stared up at the popcorn ceiling of your room, trying to count the dots. “Wanna tell me about it as practice before you go talk to them?”
“So Dustin already called you too?”
“Mhm. I think you should go.”
“I’m going to when I have the time. I’m not up for talking about it right now.”
You respected his decision but you knew he had to talk about it eventually. “Alright. So tell me about this record deal?”
He went on and on for god knows how long about everything that had transpired the previous night, about their first album being recorded in the city, about a first tour as an opening band, and about how long the contract would last for- and what quota they had to fulfill in those years.
“You know, I did do some law stuff in college, only majored in it, and I’m being forced to work at my dad’s law office starting tomorrow, right? I wouldn’t mind combing through the contract for any small print you might have missed or been upset with. Even my dad or one of his coworkers could look it over.”
“See, I was drunk last night but I wasn’t that drunk. I did remember that, and none of us technically signed anything, I told him to come back in a few weeks. So I wasn’t completely blitzed out of my mind, we didn’t really sign anything but we were likely going to.” A deep chuckle came through the phone and you felt a swirl in your belly at the noise. “So, you gonna come with me?”
“Come with you… where?”
“To the city, on tour- everywhere. I don’t wanna leave you behind.” He was as serious as a heart attack and you knew it.
“Don’t you think this might be a little soon?” Everything seemed to be going fast paced in the last week, when you were the one who wanted to take things slow to not fuck it up. “I don’t know if I can go back to the city, Eddie. It’s too much for me. I could see him anywhere-”
“Baby, it’s Chicago, not Indianapolis.”
Oh, fuck. A whole other state. What would you do, surely you’d get cut off from your parents. There’s absolutely no way they’d be ok with this, tarnishing the Harrington name after you already fucked it up by breaking things off with Charlie. They’d surely disown you.
“You there?” Eddie sounded concerned.
“Yeah, yeah. I’m here. I’m just, it’s a lot to ask, Eddie. I’m going to have to think about it.”
“Well, I’ve gotta run this contract over to you today so you can take it to work tomorrow, or I could pick you up in the morning and take you to work?” He had a glimmer of hope in his voice. “This kinda thing usually takes a few months he said, so it’s not like I’m going anywhere soon.”
“How about you come pick me up today, and take me to work in the morning?”
He excitedly answered, smiling through the phone “Really? You don’t hate me?”
“No I don’t, but I do want to see you before I start this boring desk 9-5 job.”
“See you in an hour?”
“See you then.” You both hung up the phone, and you made your way downstairs where there were Sunday breakfast leftovers on the counter left for you. Your parents had left a note, “running errands for the day, be back tonight.” You rolled your eyes at their absence, yet again. You knew your dad had a business trip again next week, so that’s probably why he wanted you to start this week to get trained.
“You look rough.” Steve shocked you as he came up behind you, his bed head was more wild than you’d ever seen.
“Same goes for you. Why didn’t you answer the phone ringing earlier? Thought I was home alone.”
“Not so lucky. I unplug mine when I’m sleeping, so I didn’t even hear it. Your elephant stomping down the stairs woke me up more than anything.”
You rolled your eyes as you bit into a piece of crispy bacon.
“Eddie called and apologized this morning. Said he’d come over here soon to get me and I’m gonna stay with him tonight, then he’ll take me to work in the morning.”
Steve raised his eyebrows, “Listen, I know you’re my older sister, and I know you two have been, or were friends forever, but do you think this is going too fast? Don’t you need, need some time maybe?”
You furrowed your brows at your brother, “I think that’s none of your business, but thank you for the concern. We’re just spending time together.”
“Yeah, I know. But you’re over there all the time already and it’s barely been any time at all.”
“And? You can go around on dates every weekend and sleep with a different girl and no one bats an eye? Where’s this coming from? I’m the one on my period right now, I didn’t know you and Eddie had synced up too.”
“I’m sorry. Just trying to look out for both of you.” You both picked at the breakfast quietly, avoiding each other's glares. “Gonna go shower and get ready before he gets here.”
“Mhm.” Steve said with his mouth full of pancakes.
-
“So Stevie thinks we’re going too fast?” Eddie asked in a taunting voice as he handed you the joint as you swung together on the back porch swing.
“Guess so. Because he knows so much about successful relationships.”
“You think so too though, because you said you wouldn’t-”
You playfully put your hand on his mouth to shut him up, “Please. We’re having a good afternoon. I don’t wanna talk about this yet.” He watched you through squinted eyes as you took a hit off the joint and held it in your lungs for an impressive amount of time, then passed it back to him.
“So what do you wanna talk about?” Eddie leaned in closer to your side and slipped his arm around your shoulders, and you felt cozy enough to lean into him.
“Nothing.”
“Nothing? There you go again with that cute little, ‘nothing.’” He mocked your tone with a high pitched voice, which earned him a light slap on the chest. “Hey, watch it. I’m healing wounds under here- don’t make them bleed again.”
“Eddie, they’re scars, not scabs.” You rolled your eyes as he held the joint up to your lips again, and you took another hit, doing the same as you did earlier. “I’m good after that one.”
“Yeah? You feeling good?” His voice was warm in your ear, and you could feel the heat radiating from his body.
“Mhm.” You answered and closed your eyes, tilting your head back to rest on his shoulder. “Really good.”
“Really wanna make you feel good again, baby.” He was rubbing his other hand on your thigh, and with each up and down motion he was getting closer and closer to your heat.
“Eddie, I-”
“There’s other things we can do.”
“What? I’ll make a mess.”
“I don’t mind a mess, but I have an idea.” He said with a smirk in his voice. You opened your eyes and looked at him, he was already looking down at you, his hand had stopped moving and was now resting high up on your thigh. It crept to the inside, and you felt yourself squeezing your legs together to keep him from feeling anything more. “Relax.” He smashed out the joint and stood up, offering you his hand. “C’mon. My room.”
“Nu-uh.” You shook your head, and crossed your arms over your chest.
He leaned down to meet your face, his eyes were a little bloodshot from the extra hits he’d taken between your few, his tolerance being higher than yours. “Wanna be my good girl?” You felt your stomach drop, and your body turning to complete goo at his words. “Or am I gonna have to pick you up and carry you? ‘Cause I’m gonna get you there one way or another, baby.”
You took his extended hand and pulled yourself up as best as you could, your knees already feeling weak at just his words.
You’d never been much of a girl for dirty talk in the bedroom, or at all. But your experience was limited, and it was a little intimidating that Eddie was clearly somehow more experienced in this department than you. He knew the words to say, and how to say them, and it made you wonder who, how, and-
“Hey, pretty girl. Get out of that head of yours. I can hear you thinking. Anything you don’t wanna do, just say it and we’ll stop.” You’d made it to his bedroom now, and he had his hands resting gently on your shoulders.
“Okay.” You said quietly.
“Now, I asked you out there-” He took a step closer to you, and put his heavy pointer finger under your chin and lifted your gaze to meet his, “are you gonna be my good girl?” You nodded, actually stunned at the effect that his words had on you. He slung his jacket off his shoulders, and pulled his shirt off. You quietly gasped at seeing the scars all over his muscular back, shoulders, his chest and stomach as he turned around to meet you. Your fingers reached out to trace the pink lines mapped out over his abdomen, and he reached up to pull your hand away.
“Eddie, I’m sorry-”
“I figured you gotta see them soon enough. We’ll work our way there. Take off your top, baby.” His fingers danced at the hem of your ribbed black t-shirt. He slowly teased his way up your body with the shirt until he pulled it up and over your head. “No bra? Not what I expected from you, Harrington.” He started kissing your neck with excitement as his cold hands were snaking their way up your sides, and he paused, “you sure you’re okay? I know you said you hadn’t done much with him, or anyone else. Just please stop me-”
“Eddie, just shut the fuck up and kiss me.” You lunged at him, wrapping your arms around his neck and he pulled your body close to his. Your bare skin colliding with his felt so good, but it was so different than what you were used to. You felt your nipples harden at the arousal that was pooling in your belly again, and it peaked again when Eddie was already moaning into your kisses. One of his hands slid up your side, to the front of your ribcage where he finally cupped your breast in his hand.
You both moaned at the feeling, “fuck, your tits feel so good.” He kneaded at it with fervor, and moved on to pinching your nipple. You moaned out again, breaking the kiss. “You like that, baby?”
All you could get out was a nod, you’d never had your tits played with before now by someone else. “Get on the bed, and get those jeans off- just the jeans.” You scooted out of your jeans, and sat on his bed, watching him slowly prowl over to you. “Lay back.” You scooted back and rested your head on his pillows as you anxiously watched him crawl over you to meet you, he leaned in and kissed you again, this time it was hungrier, sloppier, and his hand was more rough as it groped your chest. He broke the kiss to attack your neck, then your collarbones, and then he finally put his mouth on one of your nipples. He sucked it into his warm, heated mouth and you felt his tongue rolling around your nipple, causing your back to arch. He pulled off with a smile on his face, then blew air into the wet tit and you watched as your nipple became more hard.
“Fuck, that feels good.” You moaned out softly, and you watched as he went down on the other one, still playing with the first so it wasn’t ignored. You watched him go back and forth between the two for a few minutes, and clearly Eddie could’ve spent half the day with your tits in his mouth but you were growing anxious to get off. You tugged his hair to get him to meet your face, pushing up off the pillows to kiss him deeply again.
“Want you to try something new for me, ‘kay? Since you’re on the rag and all. I’d fuck you right now no problem, but I know you’re a little shy about it, aren’t you?”
You blushed and nodded, “yeah, I’ll try something new.”
“M’gonna sit on the edge of the bed and want you to straddle my thigh. Just one.” And he scooted down to the foot of the bed, and helped you climb onto his thigh- he was still in his black jeans. “Sit down harder, baby. Remember you’re gonna be my good girl, right? Want you to use me. Use my thigh to get yourself off.”
“H-how?” You asked, feeling silly for being in your underwear, straddling your boyfriends leg.
“Shit, you never done this before? Not even with a pillow?” You shook your head, and Eddie placed his hands on your hips. “Just grind on me baby. Back and forth. Whatever feels good, I got you.”
You nodded and started moving against his thigh, feeling the thick fabric rub your cunt in the right ways.
“Fuck, why have I never done this before?” You rolled your head back with your eyes as you rode Eddie’s thigh, stabilizing yourself on his shoulders. His mouth was roaming your upper body, likely leaving hickies everywhere. Your high was making this feel so much better, and you could already feel yourself close to the edge.
“Feel good?” Eddie asked, his lips still moving over your body, kissing and tasting anywhere he could get his mouth on. You nodded and moaned, unable to say anything. “That's my good girl, use my leg to make yourself cum, baby.” You ground yourself harder against the rough fabric and squeezed your thighs closer to his leg to chase your orgasm.
“Fuck!” You yelled as you came undone on his leg, your chest heaving, and your head tucked into the side crook of his neck, where his curls were tickling your face. “How do you know so much?”
“I’ve seen a lotta porn, babe. Your brother works at-”
“Christ, Eddie. I don’t need to know that you rent porn from my brother. Why the fuck does family video have an adult only section?” You earned a chuckle from Eddie as you absentmindedly twirled your fingers through his hair. “I feel so silly about anything like this because everything I’ve ever done before was just… for him. Never about me, never what I wanted, when I wanted, and-”
“And, that’s fucking pathetic. You should have been treated better than that. Your body? I wanna worship every inch of it, your skin is so soft, you’re so beautiful, and I want you to know that.” You were blushing as his hands were still roaming your body.
“Do you want me to, you know, help you?”
“Nah, you don’t have to. I don’t ever expect anything from you.” He smiled and you could feel it as he kissed the top of your shoulder.
-
A few hours later you found yourself sitting at the Munson kitchen table, reading over the rough draft of a contract Eddie had remembered to grab and put in his pocket from the show, while he was down the hall practicing guitar. You took another sip of the cold coffee as you read through the extensive stipulations.
“Hey, Eddie?” You called out. “Eddie?” You said a little louder, and he must have heard you. He came around the corner in his holey jeans, and a loose Iron Maiden t-shirt that had seen better days.
“Yeah?” The look on his face only made you realize how hard it was going to be to break the news.
“I uh, do you mind if I take this with me tomorrow? There’s a few things that I want to get checked out by one of dad’s guys. I just don’t understand this level of l legal talk, and I don’t want you signing something away that you don’t want to.”
You watched his face fall slowly. “Yeah, I think that’s probably for the best. Does it look good to you?”
“Some of it does, but I’m not sure about some of it. You have to be really careful with these lengthy contracts. Sometimes they can really screw you over, and it seems like some statements are negating other things.”
He nodded slowly, scratching at his chin. “You don’t think we should sign it, do you?”
“I’m not saying that exactly, I’m just saying I think it needs to be read through by someone smarter than me who knows more about how this works.” You gestured to the papers in front of you. “I mean, really, this guy just came out of nowhere to find you guys. He could be a total fraud.”
“What do we have to lose though?” He walked closer, leaning against the kitchen counter closest to you.
“A lot. I mean, it says if you don’t fulfill a certain amount of record sales- which, I fully believe you’re capable of- you could owe them a lot of money. Or if you don’t sell a percentage of tickets, they can break the contract. But here, it says-”
“Okay, okay. I get it.” He put his chin in his hand and rested it there, his dark eyes looking at you. “I’m glad you’re smarter than me.”
“I’m not, I just spent years of my life studying this and figuring out how people word these to trick people who haven’t spent years of their life studying.”
“You’ve always been the smart one. Top of the class, you’re the real nerd.” He smiled, slowly walking towards you. “Your campaigns always, always were better than mine.”
“I mean, absolutely they were. But I don’t know about now.”
“Hold on.” Eddie held up a finger and ran out of the kitchen, down the hallway. You heard some rustling and pushed the contract out of your way, your eyes hurting from the small print. “Here.” He said as he plopped the book down on the table.
Your book. Your book from middle school, at that.
“Eddie, how- how do you have this? Did it not get ruined when you lost yours and Wayne’s house?” You ran your fingers over the cover, before you opened it up, immediately recognizing your own handwriting, paired with Eddie’s chicken scratch of notes. “And wait- did you use some of my campaigns?”
“Just a few. Just the good ones, I saved the best ones for when you came back.”
“What if I never did?” You looked up at him as he was beaming a smile at you.
“Somehow I always knew you would.”
-
“Scott, would you mind looking over a few things on this for me?” You walked into your dad’s employee’s office. He was always your favorite of your dad’s friends, he’d seen you and Steve grow up. Scott didn’t have a family of his own at all, so he was present at a lot of your family’s parties and events. He was like a second dad, but a cooler one.
“Sure thing, just shut the door and have a seat. I could use a break from the woes of the Hawkins community. What do we have?”
“So, Eddie, my boyfriend, has been playing in his band for a while-”
“Wait, like, Eddie Munson? Like, devil worshipping, town killer, etc?”
“Yes, that one.” This was not what you expected, or wanted when you came into his office today.
“Oh God, I know your mom loves this. I always told your dad the two of you were gonna be somethin’ one day.”
You blushed, but continued on, “So, at their show the other night this guy approached them with his record label from Chicago. He had a contract ready to go and I’ve looked over it, and some things just don’t seem right. I highlighted everything I questioned but there may be more, and I just needed another opinion about it.”
“Let me see here.” He sat back in his leather desk chair and put his glasses on. You noticed the way his hair had grayed since you’d last seen him, the way his eyes and mouth had crinkled more from the smiling faces you remember him always making. “Your brother doing good?”
“Yeah, he’s doing alright.”
“Glad to be back here?” He asked as he kept reading over the papers.
“Could be worse.”
“I hear ya.” He nodded, reading through the pages. You sat at his desk, fiddling with the hem of your skirt. “Can you give me the rest of the afternoon for this? I have the time, just don’t want you sittin’ here doing nothing. If you want, there’s some paperwork in the basement that we moved from your office down there that needs to be put into the empty file cabinets. Doris has the keys, if you just ask her for them. Your dad left a note of things for you to do today and that was one of them. By the time you get everything filed away, I should be done.”
“Yeah, I can do that. Thanks, Scott.”
“Anytime, sweetheart.” You smiled at the endearing name, coming from anyone else his age it would be creepy but you knew he didn’t mean it that way.
Doris was quite the character. She’d worked as the front desk secretary for the entire time your dad’s firm had been opened. She took her job way too seriously, and she didn’t like many people. But you and your brother just so happened to be two of her favorite people.
“Oh sure, here’s the keys! I’m just so glad you’ll be working with us. Your dad is so proud of you for coming home and working under the family name, you know that?” You shrugged and held back an eye roll. “You remember what door it is, right?”
“Of course. Thanks, Mrs. Doris.” You grabbed the keys from her and rolled your eyes as you walked away, remembering how she used to gloat over your brother anytime she got the chance to, and now she was doing it to you.
You turned the key to the door and went down the stairs, into the well lit basement. It smelled the same from when you were a kid- sometimes you’d have to come up here after school, and your dad had a desk down here for you and Steve to do homework, or color when you two were younger. It would be creepy to some, but you both loved it. You didn’t have to hear your dads boring conference meetings, or him yelling at employees. It was your hiding spot and you felt safe down here.
You easily found the piles of files that were meant to be organized by you- they were stacked on your old desk and disheveled from being moved so hastily down here. You opened up the top drawer to an empty cabinet, and you got to organizing the files alphabetically. These were all of this years cases the office had dealt with, from the beginning of the year to now, and you knew they just wanted them organized by the last name.
You recognized a few of the last names, and being nosy, of course you had to browse through some. You scoffed at the DUIs, and other small “crimes” the office either handled or probably hid from the public eye, until you saw a last name that was all too familiar.
“Munson, Edward - ‘86”
Shit. Shit! What do you do? It was one of the thickest folders you’d picked up in the last hour. You knew what you should do, what was the right thing. But what had Eddie done this year that your dads lawyers would’ve been responsible for defending him for?
You carefully opened the Manila folder, and read the first line.
“Hawkins Lab (plaintiff) vs Edward Munson (defendant) 1986”
“Holy fuck.” You whispered to yourself, carefully turning the next page. “Why would they file a lawsuit against Eddie?” You whispered out loud to no one, as you continued to get through the pages. You heard the door open up the stairs, and you shoved the folder underneath the others, not wanting to put it in a cabinet yet.
“You still busy down here?” Doris asked from the third step. “It’s lunch time and you got someone askin’ to take you out to lunch.”
“What?”
“Some guy with curly hair and a jacket on. Is he trouble? Do I need to get him out of here? Is he the one your dad told me to kick out if we saw him?”
“No, no. Doris, that's Eddie, my boyfriend. Charlie’s the one we want to kick out. I’ll be right up, let me finish tidying these.”
“Oh no, you go on up there and take your lunch. You’ve been down here for about two hours already. The mess can wait.”
“I really don’t mind tidying up a bit before I go.” You told her, trying to delay her and finding a quick, more hidden spot for the files.
“Alright, I’ll tell him you’ll be up in a minute. Don’t take a minute longer!”
“Yeah, sure.” You pretended to rummage around, then grabbed the Munson file and hid it in another file cabinet that was collecting dust. Surely no one would suspect you putting it there.
You walked up the basement stairs, shutting and locking the door behind you, as you shoved the basement key into your pocket. You felt your mind spinning as you walked towards the front, unsure of whether to bring up what you found or not.
“Hey beautiful.” Eddie greeted you with a hug, kiss on the cheek, and a small bouquet of flowers in a small vase in his hand.
“Hey.” You said, giving him a quick peck on the lips. “C’mon, I’ll put these on my desk and we can go to lunch.” You pulled on his hand to tug him with you to your minimally decorated office space that screamed “temporary”.
“Oh hey, I was just looking for you!” Scott said as he walked around a corner. “And you!” He pointed at Eddie, who then pointed at himself. “You have a free minute?”
“We were about to go to lunch.” You said as you set your flowers down on your desk and picked up your purse. “Eddie, this is Scott- he’s worked with dad for forever, and I had him read over the contract from the label for you this morning. Scott, this is Eddie.” You observed the two exchanging glances at each other, then they introduced themselves. You could tell by Eddie’s faltering voice he was putting on a front- they had definitely met before. Maybe it had been a long time ago that they’d crossed paths, but you had a feeling you needed to get to that file.
“Won’t take but a minute. Have a seat.” He gestured towards the seats in your office, and you took a seat behind your desk, wanting to be able to watch the two interact.
“So uh, seems here we’ve got an entirely too controlling contract. I’ve gone through everything Harrington already combed through, added more comments, and even found a few more things. It seems to me like this guys label is pretty scummy, I don’t know that I’d take them up on this one.” You watched Eddie’s shoulders deflate as the contract was placed into his hands. “The choice is ultimately yours, but once you read through you’ll see what I’m talking about. I don’t think it’s the right one, I don’t trust that they’re not trying to take everything you guys have.” Scott eyed Eddie, waiting for him to look up at him from the paperwork.
“Well, I appreciate the time you took going through it. I’ll take it to the guys at practice tonight and we’ll talk it over to see how everyone’s feeling.”
“I think that’s a good idea.” Scott stood up and patted Eddie on the shoulder, “Good to see you.”
“Yeah, nice to meet you too!” Eddie yelled back as Scott exited your office. “Pizza for lunch?”
“Sounds delicious to me.” You followed Eddie out of the office and to his van. He chucked the contract into the back of it, and you watched it fall to the floor.
“Hey, you okay?” You asked, patting his shoulder.
“Yeah, I’ll be fine.” He backed out of his parking spot and started to drive away. “How’s your first day?” Here’s your chance. Perfect time to bring it up.
“Pretty… boring.” You can’t do it. “Scott and Doris had me in the basement organizing some things that were in my office that hastily got thrown down there at some point to make my office look unoccupied. He’s got a whole list of things for me to do if I’m bored. Seems like I’m going to be doing busy work and getting paid for it.”
“That’s some shit. You’re smarter than that.” He said, resting his elbow on the window sill of his door.
“Yeah, I mean I’m sure it’ll get more interesting later. I didn’t expect to get put on any actual cases or anything, but I did expect to be doing more than coffee runs or something like that.”
“They have you running coffee?”
“Absolutely not. It’s just my first day, so I’m not really expecting much. Dad said he’d be in tomorrow morning to get me set up. I think today is just a day of busy work since I wasn’t expected to start working so soon. Or at all, even.”
“I’ve got an appointment after lunch.” Eddie blurted out.
“Yeah? Where?” You looked over at him, and he looked nervous as he bit his nails.
“You know where.”
“Oh. You’re actually going? Do you need me to go with you?”
“Steve is. He’s meeting us at lunch.” He quickly replied.
“Oh.” You said as you looked out the window. Eddie was clearly a nervous wreck, and there wasn’t much you had to say to the dull conversation. You two pulled up at the pizza place beside Steve’s car, and he hopped out at the same time you did. A fourth car door shut on the other side of you, and you were met with Jim Hopper.
“What’s going on?” You asked, suddenly confused about this lunch meeting.
“He’s coming too.” Steve spoke up, placing a comforting hand on Eddie’s shoulder as you guys walked into the restaurant.
The four of you sat down at a back booth, you sat across from your brother and Hopper, and Eddie sat beside you.
“So is this like, an intervention? What’s going on?” You felt even more clueless.
“They need to speak to Eddie and have questions about you, so they need you too.” Hopper said.
“What?” You said bluntly as the waitress came up to take your orders- you added on a beer to yours for your nerves.
“Yeah, apparently you’re going to have to answer a few questions since you’ve observed Eddie’s behavior with the nightmares. I’ve gotta go since he’s always calling me, and-”
“How do they know?” You interrupted your brother.
“I told them, when I called to ask them what I needed to do. Then they gave me 20 questions and I panic answered them, not knowing they’d drag you into it. Hopper is going just to make sure no funny business happens. I’m really sorry.” Eddie looked at you with puppy dog eyes.
“Hey, it’s okay. I wanted to go with you if you needed me anyway. You need to talk to someone about this. Maybe they can help you.”
Hopper scoffed. “He needs a real therapist. I’m afraid this is just going to stir some more shit up. I don’t trust these guys, even though the lab is gone. How did just enough of them just survive to stick around to make sure you kids didn’t need anything?”
You four all looked at each other, you being the most clueless of all.
“I suggest being brief. Don’t tell them anymore than they ask. Don’t tell them who you hang out with, who you see, or where you work. Especially you, Harrington.” Hopper pointed at me. “They already know your family, but they’re gonna be hounding you for all they can.”
“Why me? Why not Steve? He’s the one who went down there into their whole, alternate universe world… thing.”
“Because of your j-” Hopper started.
“Because they didn’t know he had a sister, and they thought it was weird you came back to Hawkins. They want to know what you know about it all.” Eddie cut Hopper off immediately, and you didn’t miss the look on Steve’s face. He knew something too.
You looked at Eddie, who was trying so hard to lie to you.
“Would it have to do with the huge file at my dad’s law firm labeled Hawkins Lab vs Munson? The one from, I dunno- 1986?” You shrugged, looking at the men at the table.
“Fuck, we don’t have enough time for this.” Steve ran his hands through his hair.
“So you were just going to casually leave out that dad fucking defended Eddie against the LAB?! What were they trying to say happened? Both of you- you both lied to me!” You tried not to raise your voice, and thankfully the kitchen sounds were loud enough as the lunch crowd picked up. “You could’ve told me that when you dropped the whole Hawkins-has-a-creepy-second-life-going-on-underneath-it bomb, and it would’ve been fine? But now I’m working there and these scary lab people are going to ask about it?”
“See, you don’t work there. You work at Family Video with Steve.” Hopper corrected you.
“That would’ve been nice to know!” You raised your voice again. “So what case did they bring out against Eddie?”
“I told you, I almost died down there. I did. But I came back through, and no one that ever died down there came back up to Hawkins and they created this huge case trying to make it look like I was the one who created the gates- because of the whole town freak thing, right? Believable.” He took a deep sigh, “Scott defended me. Your dad couldn’t, because it was considered a conflict of interest because they knew we used to be friends.”
“What, how did they know that?”
“They know everything. Well, they used to, they’d been watching our town and listening to everything for years before we discovered what they were really doing with their experiments. With a lot less people they’ve become a small organization, and they’re basically sticking around to see if any other activity starts to happen, and observe and be ‘helpful’ if anyone affected by the ‘earthquake’ needs help.” Steve answered.
“How can you trust them?” You asked.
“Your dad’s firm won against them in Eddie’s favor, so they’re at the mercy of him.” Jim spoke, and you looked between the three guys again, completely baffled, yet again, at how much had happened in the short time of you being back.
“I need to get some fresh air.” You pushed your way out of the booth and fled outside, forgetting your jacket at the booth. You felt yourself warming up out of rage as you walked over to the alley beside the restaurant. You grounded yourself against the cold brick wall and closed your eyes, taking a few deep breaths to avoid an anxiety attack.
“You good?” Eddie appeared out of nowhere and you jumped out of your skin.
“No, I’m not good.” You answered him as you opened your eyes. “Eddie, what the fuck?!”
“I don’t know what to say.”
“Sorry for leaving out a huge, major detail, and everyone’s just been pretending since I’ve been home?! This is not okay. This is not why I came home. I came home for some normalcy, for LESS drama than I had in the city. And it’s been non-fucking-stop since I got back. I don’t know that I even had this much happen in high school.” You ran a hand through your hair nervously, “what am I supposed to do?! I can’t keep finding things out, Eddie. I can’t do this. I can’t keep on walking around on eggshells whether is your short temper, or my parents, or avoiding running into anyone from high school, or the fucking upside down bullshit!? Why is all of this happening as soon as I come home?!” You cried out to him as he stared at you with a blank face and no answers. You put your hands on his shoulders and felt yourself pushing against him. “Someone give me some fucking answers!” Eddie grabbed your hands, and you felt your body freeze. What was he about to do? He placed them gently around his neck, before he wrapped one arm, then another, around your body and slowly pulled you into him, hugging your shaking form.
“I’m so sorry. I’m so fucking sorry, baby. I should’ve died down there. I didn’t want you dragged into this, but I let it slip on the phone this morning when I called them because I thought it was the right thing to do to get help. If I call a normal shrink, they’re gonna commit me for thinking I’m fucking insane for what I’d tell them. I can’t call anyone else. Only your family, the kids, Robin, and a few others really know what happened during the so-called earthquake, okay? We have to be so careful about this. I’m sorry.” He hugged you as he let out a cry.
“Don’t you ever say you should’ve died down there.” You muttered into his chest.
“No, I should have. I quite frankly should not have made it. They thought I was dead for the longest time, til we all started having nightmares. Then when they realized I was alive, their case was brought against me, in case the truth got out, they thought that their asses would be covered by shifting the blame to me.”
You paused. Eddie had been carrying this around too, and it didn’t excuse his actions but you could see why he’d been a little more quick tempered and anxious than usual.
“After today, can we just start over and see if things can be normal? I’m really fucking tired.”
“I’d love nothing more than that.” You wiped your tears at his response, and hugged him tighter to you. “We better get in there and eat, they’re expecting us at 1:30.” You nodded as you broke your embrace and followed him back into the restaurant.
-
Another surprise, Scott was at the Hawkins Lab offices. He gave you a sympathetic smile as your eyes met, and you all walked in together to the meeting. Turns out that it wasn’t quite as scary looking as you expected it to be inside, it looked like a normal, plain office space.
“Munson, Harrington?” A lady’s voice called from the desk. “Separate rooms, 103, 104-”
“No, they're all going to be interviewed together in the same room. I’m their lawyer, and I have to be present as well.” Scott slammed his business card down on the desk and slid it towards the lady. She eyed it, and put it back down.
“Follow me.” Okay, maybe it was a little scary. You felt a timid, clammy hand grab yours, and you looked at it to see it was your brother beside you.
“You’re good, okay?” He whispered, knowing you were the anxious one of the two of you. “Let Scott do most of the talking, only answer if you absolutely have to. If you don’t know if you should, just look at him and he’ll give you the go ahead or not.” Clearly your brother had been there before, and knew what to do with these guys.
You nodded and squeezed his hand back before dropping it to your side.
You all entered what looked like a conference room, and took your seats at a long table. Paperwork was everywhere, and you tried to see what some of it was as you walked to your seat beside Eddie, but you couldn’t make anything out.
“They’ll be in shortly.” The lady said before she walked out.
Eddie leaned in and whispered, “the whole room is mic’d up, and security cameras in every corner. Stay quiet.” You nodded and looked at him, his eyes were wide with a look in them you had never seen before.
“Hi, I’m sorry it took us a minute to get back here. I hear you’re having some nightmares, Mr. Munson?” The man quickly shut the door and sat down across the table from you.
“Yeah, they’re back.”
“Would you say they ever went away with the medications, or did they just lessen?” He flipped through some papers before looking up at Eddie.
“They never went away.” His leg was practically jumping up and down as he answered this man in a white coat.
“You didn’t check in with us for the last few months, so we’d assumed your medication dose didn’t need adjusting. You are the only one of the group who uh, experienced what you did in the lab, but we really thought the dose you were prescribed would be enough. Now, you also said you’d noticed some personality changes?”
“Yeah.” He answered, looking straight at the man.
“Like, what?”
“Been gettin’ madder a lot quicker lately. But I’d assume that’s from the lack of sleep and the dreams. Anytime I fall asleep, I get the dreams.”
“So, on average how many hours of sleep are you getting each night? Because that could greatly impact the effectiveness of the program we have you on too.”
“N-not many. Maybe four?” You looked at Eddie again, you’d been sleeping over with him a lot and never realized that he wasn’t getting a full night's rest.
“We’ll have to change those meds for you then, how does that sound?”
“Not like I’m gonna take ‘em.” He muttered.
“Oh, you haven’t been taking them?” The doctor put the files down. “And this is, your girlfriend?”
Eddie nodded, and sat up straighter. “Have you noticed a change in him?”
You went to open your mouth, but Scott spoke up.
“She’s the one who’s been around him with the nightmares. She says he wakes up unsettled, upset.”
“Mr. Munson, are you experiencing any physical pain from these dreams?”
He looked at Scott, who gave him a small nod.
“Sometimes my scars hurt after I’ve had a bad dream. Like, they feel fresh again.”
“But no pain during the day, when you’re awake?” Eddie shook his head no as the doctor sighed and shuffled through some papers. “I honestly think it’s fine. We know that everything is closed off, there should be zero chance of this happening again.”
“I just wanna get some sleep.” Eddie said as he yawned.
“Then take the meds.” The doctor slid over a handwritten prescription for what looked like 3 different medications. “It’s helped everyone you know, and it’s not a permanent thing. You just experienced major trauma.” The doctor had a seat, making him look a little less scary. “Is there a reason you’re so against this?”
You watched as Eddie visibly squirmed in his seat. You reached out a hand and held his, squeezing it lightly.
“My dad had a substance problem. Pills, alcohol, anything he could get his hands on. I’m afraid I’ll turn into that.” He wouldn’t look anywhere but the doctor as he spoke.
“All of these are controlled, and you are only allowed a certain number a month. If you’d prefer you could ask the pharmacy to dispense it to you weekly, or have a friend keep hold of them just in case. One is for sleep, one is for any panic attacks, and another is a daily medication to keep your mood more at ease.” He looked more kind than he did before, and everyone was glancing at Eddie to respond, but he just had a deer in the headlights look on his face.
“Hey, Harrington- let’s give him some privacy.” Hopper nodded at you, and you squeezed Eddie’s hand again, but he quickly withdrew it from your grip. You swallowed hard as you walked out behind Jim, feeling a lump in your throat form.
The second you reached outside of the office space, and the wind caught your breath, you felt the tears stream down your face. Everything had felt like so much for the past few weeks since you’d been back in Hawkins, but you had no idea the extent of what Eddie had been dealing with. You felt a hand rubbing your shoulder, and Jim guided you back to his vehicle where you climbed into the passenger seat, still crying.
“I shouldn’t have come back here. I should’ve just gone somewhere else.” You said as you wiped your eyes.
“God, Harrington, you’re so dramatic. Don’t go saying that. I think he needs you here.”
“Bullshit, Hopper. Why did he pull away from me when I just tried to hold his hand?!”
He slowly looked at you before speaking calmly. “I mean this in the nicest way possible, okay? You can’t get mad at me.” He paused, “Alright?”
“Yeah. I won’t.” You sniffled and dried your eyes.
“The people closest to you in your life- your brother, Eddie, me, Joyce, Robin, all those kids. All of us have experienced some of the absolute worst things you could imagine seeing. None of it was fake, it’s been hell here for years. We saw people we loved die, Dustin held Eddie as he died and somehow he managed to escape and live to tell the story, except we were all told we can’t tell it to anyone. I know the trauma you had back in the city was bad too, I’m not saying it wasn’t, but this was a different type of haunting experience for us all involved. We’ve all had to seek help to stay here and attempt to heal, everyone except Eddie. And until you got here, he wouldn’t talk to anyone about going to get help. That, in there, was actually the best he’s ever reacted to the doctor giving him advice. And the only thing that has changed at all, is you being by his side. I knew his dad, I know his uncle. That boy has nothing but stubborn Munson blood running through his veins. But he’s got his moms heart, and you bring that out in him. He’s gonna get help, you just gotta be patient with him and let him know you’re gonna be with him. He’s terrified to lose anyone.” You watched as Hopper smoothed his hand over his mouth, “So I need you to do something that you Harrington’s have a real hard time doing- I need you to get that stick out of your ass that you all have, and you can’t react to his feelings this way, don’t make this about you right now. I’m telling you, you don’t want to know what we saw. Did they tell you I was in a Russian prison being held captive? I got tortured, could’ve and almost died, but I couldn’t give up. Those kids and this town were depending on me. I couldn’t lose El, and she couldn’t lose me.”
You took a deep breath in and out, taking in all of Hopper’s words as he put his hand on top of yours.
“You need to be here for him, he needs you. You can’t give up on him.”
“I do kinda have a stick up my ass sometimes, don’t I?” You joked, making light of the situation.
“All you Harrington’s do. You’re born with it. But you’ve all got good hair, so I guess that’s the trade off.”
“Any hair is good compared to yours.” You quipped at him as he lit a cigarette and rolled his window down. You reached for one and he handed you his lighter.
“Didn't know you smoked?”
“Not usually this, but after that conversation I’ll take anything.” You scoffed.
“Something else is you two siblings can be really dumb. You do realize you’re in a cop’s car right now, don’t you?”
“And you do realize who my boyfriend is, don’t you?”
“Touché.” Jim said to you as you both took a drag of your cigarette and waited for the other three to come out.
About fifteen minutes later, and two more cigarettes each, you saw Steve and Eddie walk out behind Scott, Steve’s arm was around Eddie’s shoulder. You didn’t know if you should get out of the truck, or if you should wait to approach them.
“Go hug ‘em.” Hopper hit the unlock button as if he read your mind, and you jumped out and quickly approached both boys. You first hugged Steve, who had dropped his arm quickly to return the hug to you.
“Thanks.” He muttered in your ear. “I’ll see you later.” You told him bye as you watched him walk to his car.
You turned to Eddie who was standing there, watching Steve drive away, avoiding eye contact.
“Hey, I’m proud of you.” You broke the silence, and tested the waters as you gently placed your hand on his arm.
“Thanks for being there with me.” He wrapped his arms around you slowly, and pulled you into his body. “I should’ve told you about everything, but I didn’t know how you’d react. Everything’s out now. I promise.”
“I believe you. I’m sorry for everything you’ve been through and I just walked in expecting that you owed me a thorough explanation reliving your trauma when it’s still probably too fresh for you to even process. I’m really fucking proud of you for going today, Eddie.” You pulled back and kissed him on the cheek. Hopper honked his horn, and put his car in reverse as you and Eddie both shot him the bird at the same time, causing you both to giggle.
“I think that was enough for you today, Harrington. I’ll clock you out at 5, and tell Doris you had some offsite work to get done with me so you’ll be in the clear.” You thought about giving him the basement key in your pocket, but something told you not to.
“Thanks, Scott.” You told him with a smile, and watched as Eddie gave him a hug too before he walked off to his car.
“So, you think you could ride with me to get these filled, or-” Eddie nervously asked you, “I can go later if you just wanna go home, I can take you.”
“No, I’ll go with you. And if you need me to like, I dunno, keep you accountable for anything I can. Or if you don’t want me to, just say that.”
“Steve’s gonna do that for me, but I appreciate the offer. For now, I just want you to be my girl.”
Your heart swooned at the use of the phrase, as he kissed you on the side of your head.
“I can do that.” You smiled at him before heading to his van.

Kinda want to write a one-sided ronance post S4 au (within a fix it obvs) where the older teens start actually hanging out and Stobin (eventually + Vickie)confuse literally everyone. They greet each other with cheek kisses, call each other babe (or "Stevie Baby". Listen. Robin calls him bud or buddy or bub or bubba or babe and it's like why so many B's?? Argyle is vibing with it though and joins the bud train) and one time at two in the morning had a coordinated ramble about the names of the cats they will eventually get. (Sassafras, moonshine, and Garborator)
Nancy and Steve haven't really talked about anything, other than Steve saying "hey. I'm sorry if whatever I said weirded you out. I was definitely a bit delirious and Robin and Eddie AND Dustin were all making comments about winning you back or whatever which is stupid, you made it clear where you stood with me. Which wasn't with me. That's fine. and like. Okay yeah when we were together I'd daydream about you being beside me in the motorhome but thats-- it was a daydream. I was sort of thinking I was gonna die and. I wanted to share a little dream that made me happy. And then got everything confused in my head and made it weird and I'm sorry. what I'm trying to say is I'm sorry for being weird and making things uncomfortable. I'm over you. I loved you then, and you were my first real love, and maybe if things were different I could love you like that again but. But neither of us want that or the same things out of life. And we'd crash and burn again. Plus you and Jonathan are together which is a non-starter. Cannot believe I forgot that when it was happening. Jesus. So. Yeah. Sorry for being not a great friend and hitting on you in the Upside Down." And Nancy had nodded and told him not to worry about it. He had been sort of bleeding out and planning on going back into the upside down. They could both be normal about it.
Sometimes Nancy and Robin try to have "girl time" at Nancy's suggestion because they're the only girls in the older group (sometimes. But Robin is not going to let that slip out) but it's awkward without a buffer. Robin is too nervous and rambles and Nancy is too annoyed by it. But they do get on well in group settings, and Steve and Argyle are actually the keenest to smooth over any awkwardness.
Robin laughs more with the group, and grins at Steve and smirks at Eddie and has a sharp tongue Nancy can admire. She's more comfortable with Steve around, insisting he sit beside her or on the ground in front of her so she can play with his hair. (And Nancy is shocked the first time she sees it, because Steve was notoriously protective of his "best feature", but she'd asked and he'd hummed quietly as she takes her fingers through his hair and put tiny, lopsided braids in it.) It's nice to see Robin less jumpy, and wonders what it would take to see more of the side of her Nancy only sees when Steve's around. She just wants to get closer to Robin. Wants a friend.
And somehow, beyond Nancy's notice, Steve and Robin's friend Vickie slowly joins the group. She wasn't involved at all in the spring, but has been hanging around Family Video and a movie night or two often enough that when she settles more permanently in the group it isn't a very big surprise. Eddie and Argyle welcome her in with open arms, Jonathan is only his normal amount of weary of new people, and obviously Robin and Steve are excited for their friends to be friends.
But it just doesn't sit right with Nancy. She can't pinpoint why, it just doesn't. When she sees Robin and Vickie giggling together, or having some back and forth banter that seems to feed into both of them smiling, or Steve throwing his arm over her shoulder, or Vickie leaning into Robin's space as they talk. She always sits beside Robin, Steve on the other, with Eddie beside him. It's usually a tight fit for whatever couch they're on, but the four seem happy as clams to not have any personal space. Once Argyle decided to lay across all their laps, and they just...let him. Finangled themselves so everyone was mostly comfortable.
Nancy figures she is uncomfortable with it because she hasn't ever had a close friend since Barb, and was possibly hoping she could be close to Robin along those lines. So seeing her so close with the others and mildly uncomfortable around her hurt, and seeing her and Steve incorporate someone unversed in the Upside Down into their little trauma club also hurt. Because what did Vickie have that Nancy didn't? That made Steve and Robin and now Eddie stick to her like glue? That made them want her there when she didn't know anything about what they'd been through and could probably never understand?
What made Vickie Summers so special that she's taken what should have been Nancy's place beside her friends? Because that's what really bothered her. It wasn't that Vickie didn't know, it's that Nancy felt she took her place. That Nancy wanted to be where Vickie was, and she didn't know how to ask for it. Asking, trying to talk about how Steve and Robin had bonded so well after Starcourt while she ignored them and then how they bonded with and absorbed Eddie halfway into their bizarre dynamic after vecna, would feel too much like begging or admitting that she isn't quite sure how to make friends.
Nancy is jealous. Jealous that she isn't friends like Vickie and Eddie and Steve and Robin are. That she isn't the one making Robin smile and giggle so cutely. So. She tries harder. Tries to be the friend that Robin and Eddie and even Steve deserve. She tries not to be annoyed by Robin rambling (it really isn't that bad, just. Not relevant. She likes heading Robin's voice, but thinks she could really work on having a filter.), or the way Steve always asks clarifying questions when he should really have known better, or Eddie talking half in different character voices. She thinks it's getting better, her relationship with them. But, still, Vickie is always there, glued to Robin's side almost as much as Steve is, and that always annoys Nancy. Niggles at her brain, that she doesn't deserve to be there because she didn't know what Robin had lived through and fought. Nancy did.
Eventually, Nancy figures out that she wants more from Robin. Doesn't want to be a friend she smiles at occasionally, wants to be the reason she smiles all the time. And that's terrifying. Because Nancy had never considered liking girls, never thought liking girls was a thing she could do. It was something other women did, not Nancy. She liked boys and always had, but. But maybe she always liked girls...too. maybe it wasn't something she that was one or the other. Being different in a town like Hawkins puts a target on your back, being queer in a town like Hawkins even moreso.
She's leaving Hawkins in the fall. But she thinks she wants someone to come home to. She wants Robin to come home to. Robin and Steve seem to be okay with it, from what she can glean of some veiled comments they've made that she's only caught now she's looking for them. They've made some remarks around the kids that make it seem like they'd be safe to come to, no matter what. And sometimes, some of the comments Robin makes about actresses seem a little...well. admiring.
They probably, hopefully, wouldn't hate her for this. And now Nancy and Robin have a friendship, she thinks she can. It's early July, and Nancy is going to ask Robin out.
She gets her alone, bites her lip, and asks Robin in no uncertain terms to go out on a date with her. Robin stares, mouth agape.
"oh," she says.
Nancy smiles, a little. "Yeah. So. What do you say?"
Robin blinks, and takes a shuddering breath. "Oh my god. I. Nancy I'm really flattered but I'm no-i dont- uhg. I'm dating someone." she groans, rubbing her hands over her face.
And oh. Nancy read the situation wrong "oh. Steve. It's fine! You don't like girls, thats--thats totally fine! Id just, um. That is,-"
Robin waves her hands. "No, no! I'm not dating Steve! You clocked me correctly. Definitely gay! Don't worry about that! Hah."
Something in Nancy twists. "Oh?"
"yeah. Yep. Not only am I a lesbian in a small town, I'm a lesbian in a small town that somehow also has a girlfriend." Robin says the word dreamily. Like she still can't believe it. Nancy's brain fills with static. She was too late. Too caught up with how she missed so many chances in the past, that she missed her chance now.
But Robin keeps talking. "And, like. Even if I didn't, I don't think it would have worked between us anyways. Too different, y'know?"
"what?"
Robin gestures with her hands between them. "Well, like. I like being your friend. But, I mean, I wouldn't date you?"
"why not?"
Blinking, Robin tilts her head. "Because of Steve?"
Something bubbles hot in Nancy. "What the fuck does Steve have to do with wether or not we would date?"
"Nancy. Steve's my best friend." As though that explains anything.
"yes? And?"
Robin looks uncomfortable, shifting sideways. "listen, Nancy. You're a good friend. And I've just rejected you. Maybe we should just. Ah. Leave this? I'm really sorry. I'll give you some space, just find me when you're ready?"
"no. What do you mean that we couldn't date because Steve is your best friend? Why would that have any effect on how you date?"
"it doesn't! Not really! Just. Nancy, you broke his heart. His soft, squishy heart! You kinda sorta cheated on him-details very unclear-and then just. Moved on. Pretended like nothing happened. I couldn't do that to Steve. Dating a friend's ex is a bad move. Dating an ex that broke a friend's heart is just cruel." She sighs. Looks sad. As though she isn't the one rejecting Nancy and tearing her apart for how a relationship ended almost two years ago. What did that matter, now? "You're my friend, Nancy. I like you! But even if Steve has moved on, forgiven and forgotten, and if things were a bit different given his full support for us dating if that's what I wanted, I think I'll always remember how he-- how much it hurt him."
"oh"
"I'm. Nancy I'm really sorry. I know how scary it is to put yourself out there, especially like this. It's not fair. I'm just sorry. But. It was true. Steve's the most important person to me. I couldn't ever hurt him. Not like that. Not even if he said he was fine with it."
Nancy stands and walks away. She doesn't cry until she locks her bedroom door.

if you haven’t gotten it yet, “nope, puppy dog eyes aren’t going to work this time!” for Eddie 🥹
Tumblr media
AN | I’m not even gonna lie and say I’m not projecting with this. But here we are. I love a sweet, shy Eddie….and I might even have thrown in one of my favorite tropes for a little razzle dazzle. Enjoy 🥰
Warnings | Language, Drug Mention
Pairing | Eddie x Fem!Reader
Word Count | 3.4k
Masterlist | Main, Eddie
here’s a lil part two if it should please you!
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Eddie liked watching you. Holy fuck. He felt like a creep admitting that, even just to himself.
At least he wasn’t some sort of weird stalker…no, he was more of…an admirer from afar. Sometimes going unnoticed was nice. He’d learned a lot of things about you that way. He knew that if you were laughing too hard, eventually it would just turn into a squeaky wheeze that left you breathless. He knew that you had a tendency to cover your mouth when you were smiling because you were self conscious of having too big of a smile.
He knew that you liked wearing soft, pretty dresses and sweaters in all colors of the rainbow. He knew that despite the fact that you came off as quiet you managed to find your voice when necessary. He knew that you wore the same perfume everyday, and it managed to make his brain go haywire. He knew you were kind to everyone. He knew that you liked to smoke and drink sometimes and would come to him when you needed a fill.
He knew that you’d always seen him even when he felt like he was invisible. He knew he loved you. Not…not love. Liked. Liked. Right? Love was too strong and there was no way that metalhead Eddie Munson was in love with the soft, pretty girl. No way. You were different from him, that was all. He was just fascinated by the vast differences. Surely that was all. If he was the dark, then you were the light and while the two could co-exist, they weren’t made for one another. That’s what he told himself anyway. If he believed it was just an odd fascination he had with you, it was easier to keep his distance. But that was already a challenge on its own, one that was wearing him down more with each passing day.
“Eddie?” he blinked his way back into reality as he watched Dustin wave his hand in front of his face, “everything okay?”
“Just fine, Henderson,” he promised with a tight lipped smile. Before he was fully willing to let go of his little viewing party, he cast one final look in your direction and found you watching him. His heart rate increased tenfold as you beamed at him and gave him a small wave. He barely managed to raise his hand in response, surprised that you had caught him, and even more surprised that he had caught you doing the same thing.
“Eddie!”
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
“Hiya,” you’d spotted his unruly mop of hair from the distance and had practically run over to him, purposefully slowing down so you didn’t look too eager. He’d been doodling in his notebook but looked up at the sound of your voice. His full lips parted slightly in surprise at your appearance and his cheeks warmed up. What if you’d come to yell at him for starting? For being a creep? You sat down on the old bench across from him, “how’s it going, Eds?”
The use of his nickname made him weak in his knees, and he was thankful for the fact that he was sitting. He swallowed thickly and reminded him that there was no reason to be nervous, you were just another girl that he knew, “good, yeah. Fine. I’m good. You’re good…shit. How are you?”
“Are you alright?” you laughed at his stammering as his cheeks flushed a soft pink. He noticed that you’d gone to put your hand in front of your mouth again, and before he could  even think about what he was doing, he reached over and wrapped his ringed fingers around your wrist and gently pulled your hand away. You made a small sound of surprise at his delicate touch, “what was that for?”
“Your smile,” he somehow managed to regain some confidence, “you cover it up. Why?”
“I dunno,” you shrugged, feeling warm from his curious gaze, “I have a big mouth and big smile I guess. Some kids used to make fun of me for it. Just a habit to cover it.”
“You shouldn’t,” he insisted with a smile of his own, “your smile is beautiful.”
“There’s no need to tease me,” you gave him a small, closed mouth smile as you lightly swatted his hand away, giggling nervously. Ugh. Why did you still have to get so nervous around him? You’d known him for years, it shouldn’t be like this. It was Eddie. But that was the problem in and of itself - it was Eddie.
“I’m not,” his insistence was firm and from the determined look in his eyes, one that made your stomach somersault, you could see that he was serious, “it’s like sunshine. You should never feel like you have to hide it.”
You stared at him for a few, long quiet moments with your breath caught in your throat. Was someone as beautiful as him really complimenting your smile? You opened and closed your mouth a few times in search of the right words, but found yourself unable. There was plenty you wanted to say to him, but you couldn’t do it. Not this right now - not with the way he was looking with those soft, big brown eyes,  “umm…so anyway. I came here for a reason. Business purposes naturally.”
“Business,” he repeated as his heart dropped ever so slightly. He was trying to figure out if you were being serious or…not. If you were being honest, the business aspect had been the last thing on your mind but you’d chickened out from saying anything else and opted for that excuse, “mhmm. What can I do for you?”
“Well, you are the resident weed man,” you reached into your pocket and pulled out a few crumpled bills, “I’ve got $25 if you’ve got any to spare.”
“I…” sure, he sold weed to almost half of Hawkins and he’d sold to you several times, but when he just…couldn’t. He didn’t want your money, he’d rather have any other part of you that you would be willing to give him, “actually I’m fresh out. Sorry.”
“Oh,” your expression faltered slightly as you shoved the money back into your pocket. You wondered if he was telling the truth or just didn’t want to sell to you for some reason, “well, you are a busy man after all. I’ll try you some other time.”
“Sure.”
“Well,” your tongue darted out to wet your lips, a gesture not unnoticed by him before you gently tapped your knuckles against the table, “I guess I should get going then.”
You stood up and he followed suit, wiping his hands on his ripped jeans, “h-hey.”
“Hey yourself,” you teased back, watching a softness creep back into his eyes.
“I-I’ll see you around, yeah?”
“I hope so,” you tilted your head to the side and gave him your biggest smile, halfway through reaching up to cover your mouth, but stopped yourself and flailed your hands around. He laughed at your silly gesture, “see you around, Eds.”

If you had told Eddie Munson that he’d find himself on your doorstep on a late Friday afternoon, ringing your doorbell with nervous anticipation he would have laughed. He wasn’t the type of person to pursue someone. But you weren’t just someone. Not to him.
“Coming!” he heard your voice soft call out before he heard the sounds of what he was sure was you bounding down the stairs. Within a few moments, you’d pulled open the door, breathless and smiling happily, “Eddie! Hi! Wait…Eddie? What are you doing here? Not that I don’t want you here. Because I do! I mean - I, ugh, it’s a surprise is all. Pleasant surprise. I…”
“Yeah?” he laughed softly at your jumble of words as you bounced up and down your heels.
“Yeah,” you promised, “what are you doing here? Do you wanna come in?”
“No, actually,” he looked around before digging into his pocket and slyly holding out a small bag to you, “replenished stock.”
“Oh! Let me grab the cash,” you were already going to turn around but he gripped your arm lightly to stop you, “you didn’t have to come all the way over for just that, love.”
“No cash,” he insisted as you huffed dramatically. He almost choked on thin air at what you’d just said. If you’d noticed, you didn’t show any indication that you did. You motioned for him to go on, “I have…a request. Like a…quid pro quo or whatever it’s called.”
“So a favor for the weed?” you asked as he nodded, nervously scratching the back of his neck, “sure, anything you need, Eds.”
“Will you pretend to be my girlfriend?” he stammered it out so quickly you weren’t sure you’d heard him correctly. You raised your eyebrows in surprise and he sighed at himself, “there’s this gig tomorrow and these other guys have been bugging me about never going out and I told them it was because I was spending time with my girlfriend. It was the first thing I could think of and I just want them out of my hair.”
“Eddie,” you laughed, that sweet, soft sound that threatened to break him and get him on his knees in worship, “that’s so silly! You told them you had a girl instead of just saying you don’t like going out?!”
“It was the heat of the moment!”
“Eds!”
“Fuck, I know, I’m so stupid,” he groaned before looking at you with a softness you had never seen before in those ridicuslosuly beautiful eyes, “but it’s just for one night and it doesn’t have to be long, maybe an hour or two.”
“Nope, puppy dog eyes aren’t going to work this time,” you were trying to keep your weak resolve from completely crumbling. The idea that Eddie had asked you to pretend to be his girlfriend, even if it was just for a few hours, made your heart practically sing. You might have imagined dating Eddie a few times…might have. But you’d never admit that. You definitely did not fall asleep while playing out all sorts of sweet scenarios between the two of you. Definitely not. Nope. You’d never once imagine him kissing you until you were breathless. Never. Or maybe more often than not.
“I’d owe you everything,” he pleaded and you couldn’t say no. It was only a few hours, what could go wrong? Plus, then you’d get to spend time with Eddie with no pretenses and with no need for excuses, “come on, sunshine. Please?”
“Alright,” you gave in and he let out a sigh of relief, “only for tomorrow right?”
“Right,” he nodded fervently, “and free weed for life or whatever you want.”
“Eddie,” you leaned in and before thinking too much of it, kissed his cheek quickly, “what time are you picking me up then, boyfriend?”
“How about six?” he asked, his cheek practically on fire from your kiss. He wondered if the rest of his skin would feel like that if you kissed him more. He was dumbfounded for a moment, his fingers brushing over the skin your lips had touched before he snapped back into reality, “m-maybe we can grab dinner beforehand or whatever, it’s not-”
“Perfect,” you promised and he visibly relaxed. Eddie Munson had never once been left this shy and flustered by anyone before. And yet here you were, doing it without any effort. He was an absolute sucker for you , “I, ugh…I’ll see you at six then.”
“See you at six, Eddie.”
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
She was all colorful pretty nails, cute dresses, and soft makeup. The warm, sweet smell of her perfume and natural scent had ingrained itself in his mind, and he wished it could have clung to his clothes, his pillows, everything. But, he realized, the issue was exactly that. He loved everything about you but no one would believe that Eddie Munson was dating a soft-spoken pretty little thing. No, he was going to need you to play the part completely - if you’d still be willing to do him the favor. Surely you could stand being grunged up and messy for one night. That was if you didn’t immediately laugh at the idea and slam the door in his face.
He knew that deep down, despite the pretty vision you presented, you were much more wicked and sinful. Just like him. Eddie had the feeling that the two of you were much more alike than different, even if it wasn’t obvious.
At six o’clock on the dot, Eddie knocked at your door and you opened it within seconds, as though you had been waiting for him. You had been.
“Hi,” you were bubbling with excited energy at the thought of your date - even if it was pretend. He looked you over and found it almost endearing that you were dressed down in a hoodie and some old, threadbare pajama pants, “you’re just in time!”
“Gonna go out like that?” he raised an eyebrow as you looked down at yourself and sighed. You reached for his hand and started to pull him inside.
“I need your help,” you insisted, “I couldn’t figure out what to wear. Will you help? It’ll only take a few minutes.”
His brain went haywire at the thought of not only seeing your room and closet, your sacred spaces, but helping you pick out clothes. He’d give you his own if that had been an option, “s-sure. Do you really-”
“Yes,” you shut the door and laced your fingers through his as you started up the stairs, “don’t worry, no one’s home. And even if they were, it wouldn’t matter, I already told them we’re going out.”
He couldn’t even think of anything to say to that. What could he possibly say that wouldn’t ruin anything?
Once in your room, you shut the door and moved him so he was sitting on your bed. The fabric of the blanket was soft under his calloused fingertips and he was tempted to lie down and make himself comfortable.
“Okay,” you turned around and pulled out a few things and tossed them next to him, “I have no clue what to wear, and I know this isn’t exactly my scene so maybe you could help?”
“Funny,” he grabbed one of the shirts you’d tossed towards him, playing with the soft fabric, “I was thinking the same thing. Are you sure you don’t mind getting down and dirty for one night?”
“Nope,” you insisted, secretly thrilled at the idea that you’d look more like him than your usual self. Sure, you liked soft, pretty things, but you liked things with a hard edge too. Just like Eddie, you supposed, “you’re the artist and I am but a humble muse.”
He almost choked on air at your words before he collected himself. He stood up and ghosted his fingertips along your jaw, the simple touch electric, “first - do you have a pair of scissors?”
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
“Stop squirming,” he had a nice smile. All teeth and dimples and magic. This close up you could see that he had the faintest sprinkling of freckles across his cheeks and nose. His eyes were a labyrinth of different shades of chocolatey brown and gold flecks; he was beautiful. You found it hard not to wiggle as he held your jaw and attempted to smudge black eyeliner under your eyes, “I’m gonna poke an eye out!”
“I can’t help it!” you giggled, “I’m ticklish and it feels funny!”
“Almost done,” he promised, his tongue sticking out in concentration. You stood as still as possible as he worked in silence for a few moments before he made a small sound of triumph, “there we go.”
He stood back and admired his handiwork, amazed by the difference a little dark, grungey makeup could make. You were just as pretty with it or without it. You nudged him with your hip so you could step in front of your mirror. You almost didn’t recognize yourself as you stood there in jeans that were now covered in various rips and holes, a fitted black shirt topped off with the red flannel that he’d run and grabbed from his van. As soon as he’d put it on you, you were enveloped in his warm scent and decided you would try to steal it. At least for a little while anyway. Your eyes were now lined with the dark smudgey eyeliner and your lips were a dark red. It was completely different from your normal look, but at the same time, it felt like you, “hmmm…”
“Hmmm,” he came up behind you and caught your eye in the mirror, “you don’t like it.”
“On the contrary,” you insisted as you turned to face with excitement written all over your face, “I love it. And your flannel. Which I’m totally calling dibs on by the way.”
“Oh?” he crossed his arms over his chest and you caught a glimpse of the bats he had tattooed on his forearm. You nodded confidently and he gave up any guise of being serious, “it’s all yours, sunshine.”
“I always get what I want,” you scurried back to the closet and grabbed a pair of converse, sitting down to slip them on. Do you want me? The question was on the edge of his tongue but he couldn’t quite get it out, “ready to go, love?”
“Y-yeah,” when did his voice go back to its prepubescent state? He cleared his throat and nodded, holding his hand out to help you to your feet, “let’s go.”
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
You were halfway through your shared stack of pancakes and milkshake at the small, out of the way diner you loved, when you caught him studying you intently. You swallowed the bite you had just shoved in your mouth before looking at him with wide eyes. Tapping your fingers around your mouth, you tried to find any crumbs or mess, “is there something on my face?”
“No,” he shook as he reached for his straw and took a long drink from the glass. You set down your fork and watched him curiously. This time he grew self conscious, “what? Something on my face now?”
“No,” you promised, worrying your bottom lip as you weighed over your next words carefully, “Eds? Can I ask you a question? Serious question?”
“Of course,” his heart was thumping wildly against his ribcage, and he was surprised you couldn’t hear it. He was sure it would burst through any second, “go on.”
“I know this is supposed to be a…fake date,” your voice grew quiet as you drummed your fingers along the tabletop, “but what if I don’t want it to be?”
“You don’t want to go through this? I-I can take you home…”
“No, Eddie, it’s not that,” you insisted quickly as you leaned in closer to him, “what if I don’t want this to be a fake date but a real date instead?”
“Real?” he repeated as you turned your gaze away, finding it impossible to look at his face, “you want to go on a real date with me?”
“Yeah,” you chanced a look at him and he found him watching you closely, “I do, Eds. I-I didn’t mean to make this awkward so I, umm…I understand if you don’t want to-”
“I do too,” he settled his hand on top of yours, his larger one swallowing yours whole. His hand was warm and you couldn’t help but turn your hand over so his palm was touching yours, “I’ve wanted that for a long time. I didn’t think you’d ever actually want to go out with me and I figured that a fake date would be worth something.”
“I don’t even want to admit how many times I imagined asking you or you asking me on a date,” you admitted shyly, “I just didn’t think you’d ever like me.”
“What?” confusion crossed his features as his eyebrows almost shot up into his hairline. He giggled lightly and you couldn’t help but want to make him laugh like that again. You’d do anything to hear that sound, “you thought I wouldn’t like you? Now, I’ve heard it all. Seriously?”
“Don’t laugh!” you were smiling too, unabashed and excited, “you’re all cool and fun and I’m so…not.”
“You think I’m cool?” you nodded eagerly at his surprise, “I’ve got you fooled then. I happen to be a pretty big nerdy loser.”
“I guess I’m into pretty big nerdy losers,” you leaned and flipped his palm so it was facing up. You traced a finger lightly over the long lines, “is that yes then? Can we make this a real date?”
“Yeah,” he agreed readily as your face lit up, “the first of many I hope, sunshine.”
“I hope so too, Munson.”

She Moves in Her Own Way
Pairing: Rickstar!Eddie Munson x Reader
Summary: Eddie gets interviewed and he answers questions about his love life while reminiscing.
Word count: 1932
Eddie Masterlist
Tumblr media
“So Eddie,” the interviewer says, crossing her leg over the other where she sits across from the rockstar, “people are dying to know what your mystery girl is like. You’re rarely pictured with her and no one can seem to get you to say who she is.”
Eddie sits up straighter in his seat as you become the topic of conversation. He had been starting to get a little bored, slumping a bit. He didn’t even want to do this interview for some teen magazine he’s never even heard of. He only agreed to it because when he brought it up to you you got all excited because apparently you used to read them throughout high school.
“Yeah, I like to keep her to myself. I don’t want to see a bunch of lies about her in the media, y'know? I’ve seen it happen to enough people in my line of work.”
“Do you think you could tell us what about her caught your eye?” Eddie wants to laugh at the question, he figured this was what whoever was interviewing him would want to talk about, his love life. Why else would he be getting interviewed, surely teen girls don’t care about what got him into music and why it means so much to him. But then again you did, you always did.
“She started as my best friend back in high school. She was always sticking with me and up for me even after she graduated and I failed.” Eddie gets a goofy grin on his face as he starts talking about you. “One thing led to another and she’s been my everything since.”
You and Eddie had been acquaintances in elementary and middle school and became closer in high school when you got paired up for a project freshman year. You claimed him as your best friend after he punched an older kid for making fun of you. You’ve even returned the favor before by getting into a fight with the girl who first started calling Eddie a freak. He had to be the one to break up the fight by pulling you off of her.
You’ve always supported him too both with the club and when he started his band back up with Jeff, Gareth, and Adam. Even though with practices, meetings, and your college classes after you started them the two of your schedules almost never matched up to hang out. You still made it to each and every one of his shows most of the time just to talk to him afterward.
“So you’ve been together since high school?”
“No, it wasn’t until she was almost done with her major that I finally worked up the nerve to say anything. She was helping me get ready to leave for the band's first small tour and I had a feeling of it’s now or never. And then she made me wait until we got back to give me an answer.”
The urge that he had to ask you now before anyone could scoop you up while he’s gone came while he watched you laugh at something Gareth had said while you were saying bye to everyone. The last thing he wanted to happen was that boy from your English class getting to see you laugh like that and falling in love and next thing Eddie knows he’s being invited to your wedding.
“I can’t believe you’re choosing school over us Sweetheart.” He teased while wrapping you up in his arms causing you to laugh.
“Maybe if it was just a week Eds, but I don’t think my teachers will like me being out for a month. I’ll miss you though, it’s gonna be weird not having you around.” You buried your head in his chest squeezing him tighter.
“You’ll get along just fine without me distractin’ you from all your studies. I’ll miss you too though.” He just held you to him for a while before speaking again. “You wanna go out to a movie or get a nice dinner or something when I get back?” You pulled away just enough to look at him and give him a playful smile.
“Edward Munson, are you asking me out?”
“Uh yeah, yeah I am.”
“Well it’s about time.”
“Is that a yes?” Eddie quirked an eyebrow smiling down at you. You hummed and tapped your chin in mock contemplacey.
“Hmm, I’ll let you know when you get back. You gotta go or you’ll be late.” You reached up to kiss his cheek before stepping away completely. “Bye Eds, love ya!” And you waved as Jeff called his name and he had to climb into the bus.
“What’s she like? If you don’t mind me asking, that is.” Eddie smiles at her words every other interviewer that has tried asking about you just basically demanded the information and he had immediately shut them down without thinking twice.
Even if they had asked like this he would’ve said no because he was never sure what you would think of having the world know stuff about you but this time he knew you didn’t care. When he was contemplating doing the interview and you got excited he complained about how the questions would probably mainly be about his love life. You had just shrugged and told him to do it anyway and that you didn’t care about everyone finding out about you as long as he didn’t care.
He did care but this time he was asked so nicely that he would give as much information as he could without giving away any details that would lead people to figure out who you are.
“I love her because she moves in her own way. Her fashion sense is god awful because she dresses like a muppet. Almost all she listens to is disco and she has the most bizarre movies memorized. And she’s probably the kindest person I’ve ever met who’s always watching out for the ones she cares about.” Especially the kids in your life. When you met Dustin and the gang you had immediately hopped into older sister mode and had them imprinting on you like ducklings.
And you’re one of the best teachers Eddie’s ever seen. He was lucky that you agreed to tutor him that last senior year even though you had your own classes to focus on because without you he probably would’ve failed again and he honestly would’ve just dropped out at that point. And you’re constantly helping the kids with their school work when they need it. When Will and El moved back to Hawkins you had helped catch them up with what was being taught there because their school in Cali had been behind.
Watching you interact and help El is something else really. You’re so patient with her and constantly helping her catch up to kids her own age since she’s so behind because of being stuck in the lab her whole childhood. She’s made amazing progress thanks to your help.
And he’s seen how you interact with your students at Hawkins middle school. Each one gets a special form of special treatment and you almost always make yourself easily accessible during school hours, staying late in your classroom during the after school activities in case one of them needs you. Dustin compared you to his old teacher Mr. Clarke and your face lit up like the fourth of July before saying thanks and told him all about how he became your mentor since you started teaching.
“She sounds wonderful! What was it that made you realize you were in love with her?”
“I think I was for a while before I said anything to her. But I realized it myself after a couple months of us dating. Our schedules weren’t really lining up because she was having to study and go to class and at that point the band had started really picking up some traction. So she would come to the shows just to hear about my day or week depending on how long it had been since we were able to see each other.” The goofy smile Eddie’s had the whole time he’s been talking about you gets bigger as he thinks about how he’d see you in the crowd waving at him with a big smile on your face. It makes him want to finally get home to you because even though he’s only been away for a few hours for this interview, it’s a Saturday and he should be enjoying your day off with you. “I’m sorry, is this interview about done?” He didn’t care much if it came out as rude.
“Yeah, thank you for your time and answers today Eddie.”
“Yep, you’re welcome.” He waited as she gathered her things and held the door open for her before rushing out of the building because that was the polite thing to do. But then he was speeding home to you.
A week later the magazine with his interview hit shelves and you came rushing home from the store with it in your hand.
“Eddie, you made the front page!” He looks up at you from his spot on the couch as you excitedly wave it around.
“Cool, do you need help with the groceries?” He starts to get up and you physically pause suddenly remembering why you had been there in the first place.
“No, I forgot about those when I saw this. Whoops. But look at this!” You basically shove the magazine in his face causing him to laugh and take it from you before sitting down and pulling you onto his lap.
“Alright, let’s see what this is all about.” He holds the magazine out for the two of you to see the front. “Rockstar Eddie Munson opens up to us about his lovely mystery girl. God people actually read this crap?” You giggle at the bewildered look on his face and nod. “Who cares?”
“The entire female population probably. You’re a total babe, babe. Now go to your interview. I wanna read it.” He rolls his eyes but goes to it nonetheless, handing you the mag and resting his chin on your shoulder. “There’s some questions about how you got into music Ed’s what are you complaining about? It’s not all about your love life.”
“They were basically the same questions I’m always asked. I was so bored.”
“Yeah I see that in the notes here. Eddie had begun looking bored until I started asking him about his girlfriend when he sat up straighter and started getting into it.” You read it out loud, eyeing him. You’ve talked to him about faking interest in the past. About how these people are just doing their jobs and asking the questions probably provided to them. Before he can defend himself you read another part out loud.
“Sorry to say it ladies but the one and only Eddie Munson is so much in love with his girl that you can see it in his eyes when he talks about her. The thought of how he probably looks at her has me swooning and I haven’t even seen it.” You put the mag down before turning so you’re straddling him, his hands wrapping around your back. “You hear that, she’s swooning. I’m shocked you actually answered the questions about me this time.”
“Well she asked so nicely compared to anyone else who asked. And you’re my favorite topic of conversation baby.”
“I love you Eds.” You smile and rest your forehead against his.
“I love you too Princess.”

“Hi, Mrs. Munson,” Eddie whispers against your ear, sending a pleasant shiver down your spine. “You’re looking absolutely stunning this evening.” His fingers brush against the buttons along the bodice of your dress.
You feel yourself blush, heat creeping into your cheeks. “Just trying to impress my husband.” You smile while grabbing the hand that he’s using to toy with the buttons. “But I don’t think he’d appreciate you trying to undress me in a hotel elevator.” You pause for a moment. “Especially considering I have a surprise for him when we get back to the room.”
“What kind of surprise?” he asks. He runs his tongue over his lower lip instinctively. “Like a…a sexy one?” The elevator dings, signaling your arrival onto the fifth floor, before you can answer. Hand still holding his, you lead him to your room and turn the key.
“Wait there,” you tell him, pointing to the king-size bed. “I’ll be right out.” You press onto your tiptoes, though not as much as usual, since you’re wearing heels, and place a sensual kiss onto his cheek. When you pull back, you notice that his smirk has turned into a pout. “What’s wrong?”
Eddie ducks his head, burying it in your neck as he nips at your skin. “Was just hopin’ that I could take this dress off of you.” He bites a bit harder this time, and you involuntarily let out a small moan. “Sounds like you’re not opposed, either,” he teases. He expertly undoes all of the buttons and starts to tug on the dress sleeves, kissing along your collarbones.
Using all of your willpower, you gently push him away. “I promise it’ll be worth it,” you reassure him, giggling when he whines. “Please, babe? I know you’ll love it.”
“Fine,” Eddie sighs dramatically, flopping onto the bed and loosening his tie. “But only because I love you so damn much.”
You grab a small bag from your suitcase and flounce into the bathroom. “Thank you,” you trill. Slipping the dress off, your body relaxes as the weight falls to the ground. Your dress was beautiful, but it was also heavy. You consider taking off your shoes as well, but decide to keep them on. Eddie will lose his mind if you come out in nothing but lingerie and heels.
The white lace bra lifts your breasts and amplifies your cleavage. You adjust the straps so it cups you perfectly. Matching panties frame the curve of your ass, sheer enough to give him a glimpse of what he wants while still leaving something to the imagination. And the garters that wrap around your thighs might just make him go completely feral.
As soon as you step into view, Eddie takes a sharp breath in. “C’mere,” he growls, crooking his finger to beckon you to him. His hands immediately grab your ass, squeezing and giving a light spank. “Can’t believe I get to fuck you for the rest of our lives.”
“I’m all yours,” you croon, whimpering as he runs his thumbs over your clothed nipples. “And only yours, Eddie.”
“Fuck,” he exhales. “Say that again.” You feel a calloused finger trace along the bra clasp; he unhooks it easily.
“I am all yours, Eddie Munson,” you repeat, straddling his lap and kissing him roughly. “Only you get to see me like this.” You kiss him, resting your arms on his shoulders. You start unbuttoning his shirt while pressing your lips to his lightly stubbled throat. His burgeoning erection strains against his zipper; you can feel it against your knee. You lean over so your breasts are level with his eyes, and he tilts his chin so he can suck at the undersides, flicking your nipples with his tongue.
“My wife,” he mumbles into your chest. “My beautiful, beautiful wife.” He sighs as he runs his hands along your torso. “Everything about you is just so perfect.”
“Hey, husband,” you giggle. “You gonna get naked, or are you gonna keep talking?”
He raises his eyebrows. “Oh, that’s how it’s gonna be?” He pulls you closer before gently pushing you onto the bed. He unbuttons the rest of his shirt and tosses it to the ground. His fingers fly over his belt buckle, and before you know it, he’s standing before you in just an undershirt and checkered boxer shorts. “Is that better for you?”
“Much,” you nod, pinching the t-shirt and pulling him on top of you. “But I could still do without these.” You yank off the shirt and tug at his tented underwear. A pearly bead of pre-cum dots the tip of his hard cock.
“I have the sexiest wife in the world,” he muses, sneaking his hand under your panties and rubbing your clit with his thick middle finger.
“‘M gonna start a running tally for every time you say ‘wife,’” you laugh, but the verbal reminder that you’re Eddie’s wife, and that he’s your husband, warms you from the inside out.
Eddie peels the remaining lingerie from your body. “My wife, my wife, my wife, my gorgeous fuckin’ wife,” he repeats, letting his lips travel down your stomach until he reaches your hips. “Okay, what do I win?”
“There’s no prize!” You thread your hands through his hair and watch as he nibbles at your inner thighs, purposely avoiding your wanting cunt.
“Aw, but I was really hopin’ for one of your amazing blowjobs,” he groans.
“Actually, as a wife, I no longer have to give blowjobs.” His jaw drops dramatically, making you giggle again. “Totally true. I read it in the handbook.”
“This is some bullshit,” he mutters sulkily, though you can see his grin peeking through. “But as your loyal, loving, selfless husband, I will still eat you out. Because that’s the kind of guy I am.” He dives between your legs, licking a stripe from your hole to your clit and keeping his focus there. His tongue curls as he sucks on the sensitive bud, throwing your trembling legs over his shoulder as he works on your pussy. “That feel good, hm?”
“S-So good,” you affirm, gripping the bed sheets as he inserts a finger into you, pumping it in and out. “Right there, baby.”
“Uh-uh,” Eddie tuts. “Right there, who?”
It takes you a moment, partially because you’re already dumb from his finger and mouth, but you pick up on what he wants. “Right there, husband,” you say with a smile. “Such an incredible husband, making his wife so wet.”
“Fuck, sweetheart,” he moans. “Need to be inside you. Need you to make me feel good, like only you know how.” You feel a second finger stretch you open and you whimper softly. “You make the prettiest little noises, y’know that?”
“‘S because of you,” you manage, arching your hips into him. “Eddie, ‘m gonna cum. You’re t-too good at this, I swear.” His laugh pushes you over the edge and you finish on his tongue.
Eddie gently brings you back down from your high, lips and chin shiny with your slick. “‘M not gonna lie,” he tells you breathlessly, “I fuckin’ love making my wife cum like that. You’re my wife, by the way.”
“Phew,” you tease. “I was worried there for a sec.” You pull him up so you can kiss his face. He tastes like you and the champagne you’d toasted with earlier.
His deep brown eyes meet yours. “I wanna make love to you tonight,” he says. “Just nice and gentle, okay?” When you nod, he positions himself over you and trails kisses down your body.
You feel his length twitch as it presses against your stomach, leaving behind some pre-cum. His gaze never leaves yours as he runs it along your folds and pushes into you. You cry out, feeling him growing even harder inside you as he slowly thrusts.
Eddie laces his fingers with yours and brings your hands to either side of your head. “You looked so beautiful today,” he murmurs into your ear, rocking softly. “You always look beautiful, but when I saw you in that white dress…thought I was gonna cry right there at the altar. Think I did a little, actually.” He did; you’d watched his lower lip quiver and his eyes mist over as you’d walked down the aisle. His emotional reaction nearly made you cry, too. “Feels like I must’ve done something really right for you to wanna marry me.”
You try to focus on your words as his cock grazes your sweet spot. How did he manage to be cute and sexy at the same time? “Eddie,” you mewl, “I love you more than anything in the world. I’m so happy–fuck–to be your wife. And that you’re my husband.” Your second orgasm creeps closer. “Little faster, Eds, please.”
“Anything for my wife,” he grins, snapping his hips as he steadily increases his pace. He bites your lower lip, making you moan loudly. “God, I love you s’fucking much.”
“‘M gonna cum again,” you pant, clenching around him. “Want you to cum with me this time.”
“Mhm,” Eddie acknowledges your request, bringing himself to the edge before reaching his own climax. “Wh-Where do you want it?”
“All over my tits,” you cry out. “Show me who I belong to.”
“You’re–all–mine–” he grunts, pistoning one final time before reluctantly pulling out and spilling all over your chest. Hot, thick white ropes cover you as he lets out a string of curses.
He plops down next to you, reaching over for a tissue to clean you up. “So, quick question,” he starts, resting on his elbow and brushing your hair from your face. “How are you so perfect?”
“Me?” you laugh. “Did you see yourself in that suit today? I’d make you wear it every day if you didn’t hate dressing up so much.”
Eddie makes a face. “Was only f’you, sweetheart,” he says, nuzzling into your neck and wrapping his arms around your waist. “You’ll never see me in anything besides ripped jeans and concert tees again.”
Now it’s your turn to pout. “What if I revoke the ‘no blowjobs’ rule?” you ask.
“You might be onto something there,” he muses, kissing your temple. “That’s why I married you.”
“My blowjobs or my compromises?”
Eddie pretends to ponder your question. “I’ll get back to you on that.”

a/n: ok so eddie had the spotlight in part one but this is bucks part 🤭 this is a bit of a shorter one but i hope you like it 💗
“eddie,” y/n complained. “i really don’t think i want to start anything-“
“c’mon, he’s nice! i’ve known him for a while i swear he’s a good guy,” eddie attempts to convince y/n again.
“i know, i’ve met him before. i get that you have some weird obsession with him and me but pipe down.”
“alright! i’m just saying he is an option.”
truth? y/n and buck have been going out for weeks. they’ve been hanging out and getting dinner and they actually hit it off. she realized that there’s people out there who understand her. growing up, she felt more alone than anyone. until she found buck and his radiance, he were someone to confide in. buck always was the spotlight of criticism when he was being raised. between his parents and comparisons of him and maddie, it was intolerable, so he left. similar to y/n.
they knew all too well that eddie was trying to get them together, but why not try to mess with him? they figured they wanted to sneak around a bit, act like teenagers again. sure, eddie would be pissed, but y/n was gleaming with buck. buck knew she was different from all of the girls he’s been with. abby, ally, taylor, didn’t have the elements that y/n did when she came into the room. the elements that buck needed.
they were both surprised when the other started spitting out their exact feelings, finishing their sentences like they were a psychic. it was scary at the beginning. y/n figured those issues would eventually crash together, causing damage that couldn’t reverse. she couldn’t bear to lose buck so early on.
as mentioned, they were continuously sneaking around, avoiding eddie and people who could say something. so usually, they were just at buck or y/n’s apartment where no one could bother them. y/n was laying on bucks bed, propped up on her elbows with bucks lips pressed against hers. her hands rubbed against his forearms as his were keeping himself above her, loving on her neck and admiring her lips. they stayed in that position until y/n sat up, running her hands through bucks growing hair and letting them fall to his jaw.
bucks shift had ended a few hours ago, and after long hours of working, he texted y/n, wanting her to come over. so there they were, making out in bucks small apartment.
“when do you have to go to work?”
“don’t worry about it,” buck smiles, continuing to kiss her.
“just wanna know how much time we have,” she smirks and the knocking on bucks front door interrupts them. “clearly not as much as i had hoped.”
“ugh,” buck groans, planting one more quick peck on y/n’s lips before rushing downstairs to peek into the peephole. his heart races when he sees his best friends figure waiting by the door, six-pack in his hand. “shit!”
“what’s wrong-“
“go in the bathroom, it’s your brother!” buck whisper-yells.
“why is he here?” y/n asks, frantically trying to decide what to do.
“i’ll cover for you, just, i’m so sorry,” he stutters and moves to open the door. y/n locks herself in bucks bathroom, standing there until eddie leaves. “uh, hey! what’s up?” he asks awkwardly.
“nothing much… bad time?”
“no! no, you’re good,” buck moves to let eddie in. he’s trying to make it seem less suspicious, so he just decides to let him stop by for a few minutes. “i just woke up anyway.”
“makes sense, your hairs a mess,” eddie says, making bucks eyes widen and run his fingers through it. “relax, buck. what’s got you so on edge?”
“me? i’m fine!”
“alright,” eddie replies, not believing a word of his act. “i was gonna see if y/n was busy, but she didn’t answer her phone.”
“is she at work?”
“no, her shift would have ended a while ago,” eddie tells him. “here, i’m gonna call her again.”
“are you sure?” buck spits. “it’s just, maybe she’s asleep? or out with people? or on a date?”
“c’mon, it’s y/n. i’m just gonna make sure she’s ok,” eddie presses her name on his phone and buck immediately knows his fate. he’s screwed, basically. eddie would be pissed if he found out they didn’t tell him. shouldn’t they have said something sooner? it doesn’t matter now, because he’ll find out anyway. eddie unfortunately notices the distinct ringtone of y/n’s coming from above, on his nightstand. buck tries to cover it up by coughing, but eddie just puts his phone down.
“nice try, buck,” he crosses his arms. “where is my sister?”
“i-i don’t know what you mean-“
“y/n?” eddie shouts, knowing that she’s been hiding in there somewhere. even in the bathroom, she silently curses buck, trying to figure out which part of his brain told him to do this. no turning back now, though. she flicks the lock and pulls the door open, smiling awkwardly as she steps out of the bathroom. “come down here.”
she steps down, carefully incase she has to make a run for it. maybe she should do that anyway, just escape to el paso from the pure embarrassment she feels.
“and how long have you been seeing each other and not telling me?”
“oh, you know just a-“
“four months.” buck speaks, quickly and it’s barely inaudible.
“sorry, did you say four months?” eddie exclaims. “why didn’t you say anything?”
“you had your fair share of sneaking around growing up? i’m a grown woman, i can see whoever i want. and buck is a grown man, he can make his own decisions.”
“i’m not mad, i’ve just been trying to make this work for months!”
“well, congrats,” buck adds. eddie takes a beer from the pack and takes the lid off.
“tía owes me $20,” he adds, taking a sip of the beer.
