I definitely agree, I don't want all of BSD to just be fighting, but you also can't just introduce the concept of "Hey, abilities can do wild things when interacting with each other, also here's these two characters with seemingly OP abilities that contradict each other" and then just not have them interact at all. That's not fair!

[Santai] My Go-To Beaches in Adelaide

Disclaimer: I am no expert in Travel & Dining, everything mentioned is solely based on my personal preferences and experience.

Adelaide is a beautiful, petite, laid-back city that I once called home.

Lovely people. Relatively convenient and safe to walk from one suburban to another, even at night. Yes, I have once walked from Mile End to North Terrace, after 10 pm. Cos, I missed the bus and it was too cold to wait.

I lived in a suburban, about 20 minutes away from the CBD, by car. One of my favourite things about Adelaide's beaches is the fact that they’re so accessible for day excursions. You'll discover quaint towns and breathtaking coastal views — Adelaide's sandy shores and ocean waves are practically unavoidable! Once a student, I mostly travelled by bus, trams, and occasionally, trains. Within the hour you can find yourself mingling in Glenelg, honing your swimming skills at Semaphore or simply lounging by sunset in Henley.

Being a typical Malaysian, I usually ever use sunscreens only during sports or bathing in the ocean. But here, please, please. Apply sunscreens whenever you go out! Especially during Spring/Summer. On top of the dry weather, the heat hits differently, so I adopted irreversible freckles. (I even used lip balms all year round as my lips will be chapped).

For this article, the tentative will be directed from Adelaide CBD. To chill & unwind, here are the beaches I visited the most:

1. Semaphore Beach (Postcode: 5019)

Long, wide and bordered by low dunes, Semaphore Beach comes alive as the warm weather arrives.

■ Driving time: About 25 minutes ( ~ 14km)

■ Bus Ride: roughly 1.5 hours (including walks)

Take Bus number 157 [Largs Bay] at Stop T2 Grenfell St - South Side. Hop off at Stop 44 Military Rd - West Side.

■ Best for:

Vitamin D - Walks, Swims, sunbaths

Gatherings & Picnics

Affordable fresh, scrumptious, big servings of Fish and chips. (And other deep-fried items)

Visitors and locals will set up spots on the sand and explore the grassy foreshore, or perhaps to fish/crab off the pier. The Annual Adelaide International Kite Festival is hosted over the Easter Long Weekend, gives me joy and makes me feel giddy. It is not as big and festive as Pasir Gudang International Kite Festival, still, it is fun and pleasant to attend. The Semaphore Jetty is the best place to see the kites flying.

To me, Semaphore is more than just a beach attraction. Seems quiet, yet it is a whole town with so many “little” things to discover. Do you love food, culture and heritage? You will enjoy your visit here. Although the buses do not stop right next to the beach, the long walk towards the beach is fulfilling. Strolling on the Semaphore road, you will pass by many interesting eateries, random shops and friendly locals. I often do thrifting here: better options and values in comparison to the OPs in other suburbs.

One of Semaphore's major attractions will be its beautifully preserved Art Deco buildings and of course, the Semaphore's 1920s Palais. Originally constructed as a bathing pavilion, many consider this iconic property as the perfect spot for a delightful pub lunch, over the mesmerising sunset.

My routine was getting food from nearby eateries and sitting on the grass near the Time Ball Tower. Basking under the sunny day and breezy weather, I savour the vinegared barramundi & chicken-salted chips and simply enjoy chatting with friends or bird-watching. (Watch out for the poops!) Many times, I caught on Malaysian families having picnics here. Thanks to the wind-whisperers carrying the tantalizing “scents” of homemade nasi lemak and chicken curry puffs or the tunes of elders converse in Manglish.

Then, I’ll take a walk by the shoreline. I would say the water here is clearer than Henley’s and Glenelg’s. It is common to have neighbourhood houses near the beaches, but, in Semaphore, the houses are literally across the road. I imagined the family community here was tight. I’m easily touched by kindness. As you take the steps off the foreshore, right next to the jetty, I found a net of many tools/toys for anyone to play with and build sand castles. There is a notice reminding us to have fun and be responsible, and return them in fair conditions! (Something along those lines)

2. Glenelg (Postcode: 5045)

If you're looking for the easiest to access, and the closest beach to visit, choose Glenelg Beach.

■ Driving time: About 20 minutes (~ 9km)

■ Tram/Bus Rides: 50 minutes to 1 hour (Including Walks)

Take a Tram ride to Glenelg from Rundle Mall. Hop off at Stop 27 Moseley Square

Take bus number H20[Glenelg] from Stop T1 Grenfell St - South Side. Hop off at Zone B Colley Tce - West Side (3-min walk)

Take bus number 265[Marion] from Stop A3 King William Rd - East Side. Hop off at Zone C Colley Tce - East Side (3-min walk)

Take bus number 168[Glenelg] from Stop B2 Pulteney St - East Side. Hop off at Zone B Colley Tce - West Side (3-min walk)

Sunsets

Beach Sports

Other seasonal activities such as open cinema and festivals.

At any given time of the day, it is always bustling whenever I go there, all year round.

The tram ride will take you right next to the Moseley Square. You’ll be standing right on the sand within a minute or so! There is also a plentiful supply of picnic areas, playgrounds and other family-friendly activities. There is something for everyone here. Away from the ocean, you’ll find a mix of quality stores: cafés, restaurants, dessert shops, surf and clothing boutiques, and many more ~

I usually go there for desserts, sunsets & movies.

3. Henley Beach (Postcode: 5022)

Getting off the bus, you will witness Henley Beach’s flat sands.

■ Bus rides: 40 to 50 minutes (Including walks)

Take Bus number H30[West Lakes] from Stop B1 Pulteney St - East Side. Hop off at Stop 29A Seaview Rd - West Side (6-min walk to the beach)

Take Bus number H33[Henley Beach] from Stop B1 Pulteney St - East Side. Hop -off at Stop 29A Marlborough St - South Side ( 1-min walk to the beach)

Take Bus number 286[Henley Beach] from Stop T1 North Tce - South Side. Hop -off at Stop 27A North St - South Side ( 5-min walk to the beach)

Leisure walks, Swims

People-watching - Surfers, Fishers etc

Crabbing

The shoreline stretches as far as the eye can see, with plenty of space for laying out your towel. Perfect summer’s beach scene in mind. If you're seeking a “luxury” experience, the esplanade is surrounded by many upscale shops, cafes and seafood restaurants. These were never up my alley and were never my purpose for going there.

Heading to the esplanade, you will first be greeted by the Henley Surf Life Saving Club. Compared with Moseley Square in Glenelg, personally, in the evening, the lighting here is far more charming and soothing.

I initially went there for some alone time and a quick dip after work. Then, I fell in love with the sunsets. The esplanade walk is also a popular exercise option for cyclists, joggers and walkers. There are so many seats and lounge areas for everyone to sit down comfortably. Hence, it is common for me to travel to Henley Beach just to catch the sunsets!

I enjoy my walks along the jetty and see the catches of the day (by other people). Especially crabs. Oh, it is common to see a fish guideboard on the jetties of Adelaide beaches. So, you can somewhat anticipate what you might catch on!

Stopping by The Halal“Diner” halfway through the bus ride is a must. They specialised in fried chicken, but the visit was the highlight of my trip because they served one of my favourite AB menus! (Second best to Yiros House on Rundle Street) Unfortunately, I forgot both the names of the shop & the suburban. :(

All the beaches mentioned have swim-worthy waters and great jetties for fishing/crabbing.

I’m not a surfer. But, if you are an avid surfer, people usually go to Moana Beach and Aldinga Beach for a solid break almost year-round. Also, for more picturesque views of South Australian beaches, travel a little further and discover the top five Fleurieu Peninsula beaches: Southport Beach, Blowhole Beach, Second Valley, Waitpinga Beach and Port Elliot.

North Terrace campus is in the perfect position to explore many of the city’s best beaches. You’re just an easy tram, train or bus ride away from relaxing by the ocean.

You shivered, then burned, then shivered, then burned. It was like waves, chills and heat. One after another, taking turns and washing over you constantly.

Days had begun to merge into one. Your head was pounding and your vision blurred. A few times you had even come to your senses, growing lucid, and you were in the middle of a sentence that you knew nothing about. It felt like waking up from a dream, but having no knowledge of the dream, just a very faint memory that a dream had occurred.

One of the maids, Neldra, kept your water jug full and even brushed your hair. Your whole body was aching from head to foot, your muscles humming in discomfort and pain. During the night and you could just about remember a cold compress against your forehead, and her rosy cheeks above you. Her bright eyes were sparkling, and a comforting smile came with it.

By the beginning of the second week of you being in bed, the fever began to ascend. Your thoughts were clearer and you were now sitting up to enjoy your meals. Soups and other warm, scrumptious dishes were welcomed. No longer did you feel a distain for anything edible. Your appetite was returning, and that was always one of the best signs of recovery, Neldra said.

One morning and Neldra was preparing a basket of clothing to be taken to the wash rooms. "The king asked about you this morning," Neldra said, placing your nightdress and underwear with the dirty clothing. "I think he would like to visit once he has spare time."

That term 'spare time' made you feel disappointment. It only took five minutes for him to come and put his head around the door to check on you. Why was taking only five minutes from his day so hard?

Neldra noticed your expression and the way you looked down, your lips compressed. "He wants to spend quality time with you," Neldra began. "A few minutes would not be enough for him. He wishes to have a proper catch up with you. But council has been so tough of late. Since the battle, you know how much needs to be done. Re-builds, trade talks..."

"Yes, alright," you said, cutting Neldra off.

"He has not forgotten you. Please do not think that. He asks about you daily," Neldra told you. "In fact..." A grin spread across your maid's face.

"What?"

"Nothing. I do not think it my place to say."

"Come on, Neldra. I can see you've got your own opinions on my friendship with Thorin, and it seems like something has been implied somewhere."

Neldra chuckled. "I have known the king some years now. I served him in the Blue Mountains, and he seems different around you. There is an air of something that I can't put my finger on. A contentment."

The words made a shiver of anticipation race up your spine. Thorin was a Dwarf that many women desired, whether for his title or his looks, or both. But that did not matter to you; well, his title certainly did not. His looks did lure you in initially upon first meeting him. Then his noble ways, his loyalty, his passion.

"Don't tease, Neldra," you said again, your head lowering once more.

"Why would I tease you?" Neldra had her hand firm on her hip. "I have always been honest with you."

Neldra's words stuck with you for the rest of the day. They somehow seemed to fight off the headache which had been with you now for so long.

By the time evening came, just on time for dinner, a stern knock echoed around your chamber door. "Come in!" you called.

The door opened and the king appeared, garbed in his usual fur robes and crown. For a second you couldn't breathe, and then you saw him smile. Oh, that smile. A hitched breath finally came.

"My..."

"Thorin, please," he asked, stepping closer to the bed. He knew you were going to stand on ceremony and not call him by his given name, but by a title.

"I have not dressed for your coming," you said, squirming to get out of bed.

"Rest." In Thorin's hand was a small bunch of flowers. "I brought these for you, hoping they may bring some cheer."

"Thank you," you exclaimed.

Thorin perched on the edge of the bed and took your hand. "How are you feeling?" he asked.

"Better. Still not fully well, but I'm getting towards it slowly. I hear that council has been keeping you busy?"

A flush of colour came to Thorin's cheeks and his eyes sparked with disappointment. "My thoughts have been with you, more than you know. And I apologise profusely for not coming to you sooner, but a short time would never suffice. I wished to wait until I could sit with you properly, like now."

"Maybe....?"

"Maybe, what?"

You smiled at the king, confidence building behind your words. "Maybe you could stay. Just for tonight."

he just popped downstairs to bid farewell to his mother before she headed out to buy groceries, leaving you and him home alone

he didn’t even notice the thunderstorm, until his mom mentioned it

‘oh, i have to walk to the bus-stop in this horrible weather. is there anyway you could make it stop, ku?’

as much as he wanted to say ‘yes, but i cba. cope.’ he just blurted out a ‘no.’ before heading back up to his room

he didn’t think you were scared of anything tbh

i mean you killed a cockroach for him one time so you were basically a fearless god, in his eyes

so imagine his surprise when he walked into his room and..you were gone

he was confused for a moment until he heard faint sobs and whimpers from inside his closet

he slid the door open to reveal you cowering in the corner with your knees pulled up to your chest and your face buried between them, sniffing and only moving when you had to use your hand to wipe away the tears that poured from your eyes and threatened to stain your leggings

‘i go for a minute and this is what happens-- are you crying?’

that was when you realised that saiki had entered the room once again and when you looked up, you saw his tall, daunting figure looking down at you - the glow from the lightening behind him not doing any favours as it just made him look even more unnerving

‘i don’t cry. i’m just.. excreting my eye juices. it clears your skin-- ah!’ you tried to explain but you were cut of by another boom of thunder rattle through the house

‘you’re lying.’

yeah, you knew he was a psychic so you weren’t really sure why you thought you’d be able to get the lie passed him

also, due to his psychic abilities and common sense, he figured that the thunder/lightening was the reason for your distress

saiki sighed, not really sure if he should do what he was about to but upon seeing how frightened you were and the nervous series of continuous thoughts rushing through your head...he just had to

you heard another noise which sounded rather different from thunder but it startled you none the less

you looked up at your boyfriend for comfort, only to notice that he was gone

then, you caught a glimpse of something unusual from the window

you approached it hesitantly and peered outside to see the cluster of storm clouds being swept aside like dust by some unknown force, to reveal the bright blue sky that was hiding behind it

you were in awe and although the masses probably thought this was the work of god or the wind, it didn’t take long for you to figure out that it was your psychic boyfriend who was behind it all

‘it’s gone now.’ his voice tickled your ears from behind and to say it gave you the fright of your life was an understatement

you jumped, alarmed at first but once you turned around for your eyes to meet his, you couldn’t help but feel a wave of relief wash over you

‘oh, yes. thank you, saiki!’ you chirped, throwing your arms around him and pulling him into a tight embrace

he was a bit taken back at first but it didn’t take long for him to melt into your touch and hug back, cradling your head and patting it bc i hc that is how he hugs/cuddles

(he just wants you to feel safe with him 🥺 even though he is an OP psychic who could probably kill you if he’s not careful)

anyway, saiki will ensure that you never experience another thunderstorm for as long as you live

Kōtarō Bokuto

you already know that the first thing bokuto is going to do when he sees you cry and cuddle up next to you and cry too so you don’t feel embarrassed

but like when he comes back from the kitchen and heating the pizza he was about to eat, then he noticed you curled up under a blanket on the couch, shivering and whimpering..he drops the pizza

like he is so shocked

he didn’t want to believe that you were crying tbh

but as your bf it was his duty to comfort you

bc you always comfort him so well when he feels down and he wants to do the same for you!!

anyway, the first thing he does is join you under the blanket and cry with you for a bit

but his fake wails are so bad that you can’t help but laugh FVHIDBFA

once he notices that he’d cheered you up slightly, he’ll inquire, ‘are you scared of thunder?’

you nodded slightly, gently leaning your head on his strong shoulder, ‘a bit.’

bokuto bent his arm to pat and rub your head reassuringly, ‘but you’re so fearless, (y/n)! remember that time you went bungee jumping and even I was too afraid to do it?!’

you simply shrugged, tensing as you heard the thunder rumble through the living room

‘but anyway,’ bokuto hummed, placing a gentle kiss on your temple, ‘is there anything i can do to make you feel better?’

you shrugged once again, ‘maybe just stay with me for a bit longer, please.’

your wish was his command ✨

now there is no way he’s leaving your side until the storm passes

whether that takes a few minutes or the whole night

he’s not going to leave you even to eat the pizza he had dropped on the living room floor

and he hold you close against his chest so you know that he’s not going going anywhere

also, he started talking not only instinctively but also to drown out the sound of the thunder and redirect your attention onto him

‘and then kuroo was all like SUPRISE!! and i was all like THANKS, MAN BUT IT’S NOT EVEN MY BIRTHDAY and then kuroo was like I KNOW!! god, he knows me so well.’

‘hey, (y/n) - we should dress up for halloween his year! kuroo and his girlfriend are doing a couples costume so i think we should do one too and out-shine them! i was thinkin’ fred and daphne except you can be fred.’

‘i was looking on five minute crafts of food the other day - don’t ask why - and some of the desserts were lookin’ kinda tasty tbh. i’ll send you the link so we can make ‘em sometime.’

‘why did you comment ‘i’ll give you my first born child in exchange for you to crush my skull with your thicc, juicy, scrumptious thighs 🤤😳’ under my instagram pic? and why does it have 1k likes?’

RAIEVABTG DON’T EVEN LIE HE’D JUST BE LIKE ‘cover your ears den lmao’

ok ok so you’re on facetime with him and thunder blares through your room - it’s so loud that even he can hear it through the phone - and you jump, immediately pulling your blankets over yourself

he was hitting his vape then he pulled away to look at his phone again and you were gone (bc you had brought your phone under the covers with you and obvs it was dark)

he could also hear your little whimpers even though you tried you best to hide them by slapping your hand over your mouth

‘doll, where’d ya go?’ he inquired, concern laced in his voice. he opened his drawer to toss his vape away but he did not avert his eyes from the screen just in case something happened

‘i’m still here. just under the covers.’ you spoke, doing your best to hide how shaky your voice was

‘why?’ he puffed, allowing the vapor to leak from his mouth and escape out to his surrounding - which was his bedroom

‘oh, no reason.’

suna knew you were lying, it wasn’t hard to tell, ‘well, if that’s the case, can you come out from the cover, doll? i wanna see your face.’

‘-no.’ you immediately replied, letting out a feeble sigh as you realised that lying wasn’t going to get you anywhere. ‘i’m just a bit afraid of the thunder, that’s all.’

suna cocked his head to the side, ‘thunder? never heard that one before.’ he said, mentally cursing himself out just as he said that since it came out a lot harsher than he intended, ‘erm, why don’t you try putting your headphones on?’ he suggested in a soft voice, trying to make up for the uncalled-for comment he made

you hummed in agreement, wondering why you didn’t think of that

momentarily tossing your duvet aside, you rushed to your desk where you black headphones were laying, you picked them up and dashed back towards your bed as if someone was chasing you, diving onto it, pulling the cover back over your head and plugging the headphones into your phone before pulling them over your ears

‘this helps a bit. thanks, suna.’

suna’s eyes widened as he slumped back against his headboard, ‘suna? what happened to babe?’

‘thanks, babe.’ you corrected yourself with a giggle

now that suna’s voice was the most prominent sound in your ears, the thunder seemed to fade into satisfying background noise

you couldn’t get over the random flashes of lightening though, those always made you yelp - and he noticed this

‘i really wish you were here right now.’ you mused, hugging your pillow to your chest to imitate what you’d to if he was here with you, ‘i’d give you all my kisses.’

‘bet.’ was the last thing you heard before he hung up on you

you were quite bummed at first but then you registered that he was probably on his way over :))

and he was!

you heard a few loud knocks on your door followed by a monotone mutter ‘let me in, i’m freezing my tits off out here.’

ofc you let him in and after you led him to your bedroom, he immediately pinned you to your bed, ‘you know what i’m here for.’

‘huh?’

he was confused for a moment but then he noticed that you still had the headphones on

he snickered, momentarily pulling one of the earpads away from your ear to say, ‘kisses.’
