I am experiencing "art block" rn but the thing is I don't believe in art block - but I do believe in having way too high expectations for myself, maybe it'll help me get back on track talking abt it:

I have so many ideas, and I want to draw - but the moment I start, something feels off. None of the poses I want to do stick, and even when I pull out the 3D models I can't seem to pose them right. I can see the final illustrations in my head, but i dont think im skilled enough to reach the destination mayhaps... so I will take a break and consume art I enjoy and do studies for myself, and once I feel better I'll do simple illustrations, I'll just do my Big Ideas Once I Get There youknow.... so bear with me as I reconnect with the basics

above zoro: 一期一会 - ichigo ichie "One time one meeting". a common phrase used in japan that emphazises the value and uniqueness of each moment: "the idea is that since each moment and each meeting is irretrievable and can never be repeated, one should pay full attention and appreciate the opportunity to connect with others in the present moment" (source)

above sanji: 絆 - kizuna "Kizuna means the enduring bonds between people—close relationships forged through mutual trust and support." (source)

the reason i chose these two for them, is because i feel like zoro appreciating the little things is very important - he works so hard, without pause. he always has a goal in mind. being able to sit down and breathe, without worry and without pressure, must be very important to him. i imagine zoro looking for these moments with every strawhat, not just sanji. but there's something about sanji that's different - they're the same, and the trust and respect they have for each other is special to him. he never knows what might happen next, so he focuses intently on these interactions, burning them into his mind, one moment at a time.

sanji got the "kizuna" one, because of his chosen family. kizuna was used to describe the rope used to tie up domestic animals such as dogs and horses, but has evolved to become a word that describes the unbreakable bonds between people, and the mutual love and respect we have for each other as humans. i feel like the journey this word has taken, is parallell to sanjis journey - he was tied down to the vinsmoke family, nothing more than a dog in a cage, but broke free and found his own family in zeff and the strawhats, where he nurtured his own bonds. the mutual trust between him and zoro is special, though. there's no one he would trust more to keep him grounded.
