Dreaming Of You - Tenth Doctor X GN Reader
Tumblr media
Title: Dreaming Of You
Tenth Doctor X GN Reader
Additional Characters: Reader's parents (Mentioned), Actual doctors (Mentioned), Charlotte (Mentioned), Lucie (Mentioned), Rose Tyler (Mentioned), Martha (Mentioned), Donna (Mentioned), Jackie (Mentioned), and some popular Doctor Who aliens (Mentioned)
WC: 3,501
Warnings: Reader's parents to have been mentioned sending the Reader to a therapist/psychologist, brief mention of Rose and the Doctor's separation, it's a small bit sad, but only for a second, first meeting, not a lot of dialogue, past mini angst parental-wise, and fluff
Ever since you were a child, around seven or eight, you would have vivid dreams about one person. Though, that person seemed to change every couple of years. You had seen so many faces, but in your dreams, they were all the same man; or whom you had thought was a man at the time.
Your dreams always consisted of him, in a strange room with blinking buttons and metal levers... And a strange blue police box. Sometimes you would see others, but they never lasted long in your dreams. They always... Faded out. You had no idea why.
Soon after your first couple of dreams, you would begin drawing him and the many adventures that he seemed to go on. You had even gone to your parents at some point with your drawings. You had thought that they would be interested in your designs and works, asking you questions with curiosity and intrigue... When in reality, they looked at you with worry, especially since most of your drawings - other than the strange man with many faces - were of horrific alien-like creatures. Instead of compliments and questions, they sent you to a child therapist... And psychologists in later years.
None of the many therapists and psychologists that you had gone to knew exactly what you were - quote on quote - suffering from. Some said that you just had an overactive imagination, while some said that you were possibly stressed or anxious. You didn't like going to the appointments. When explaining your dreams and showing off some of your drawings, they would all just act so concerned and confused. That just made you feel more and more uncomfortable as time went by. None of them really took you seriously.
It got to the point that you lied to your parents and said that your dreams had stopped. The dreams didn't stop, but you stopped showing your parents your drawings and stopped letting them read in your dream journal... And soon enough, they got off your back and you didn't have to see those doctors anymore.
This all didn't stop you from continuing to draw and write about your dreams though. You kept writing and you kept drawing. At this point, having moved out of your parents' home, and having your own place to live, you had more than three dozen drawing sketchbooks filled to the brim with sketches; the same goes for those dream journals. It took around two cardboard boxes just to pack them all away when moving.
And even into adulthood, you had thought that at some point the dreams were going to fade away, but they didn't. In fact, you could argue that they only got more vivid, and more detailed as time went on. The drawings also became more and more realistic. And you couldn't help but wonder if it was because of how often you drew him. All the dreams, all the drawing, all that practice made you a pretty good artist if you had to say so yourself.
But you had questions that didn't have answers, and you wanted those answers. Why were your dreams so vivid, realistic, and detailed? Was there any truth behind them? You were sure that there was, but you had no way of proving it. You weren't sure if you even wanted proof some days. The dreams were a part of who you were now, and they were not easy to ignore. It even came to a point where they were talking...
When you were a kid, the dreams were silent. No one said anything. You would just watch as this man traveled around the strange room, pushing buttons and so on. More often than not, you'd watch as he and a friend would travel to strange and astounding new worlds, meeting equally strange and astounding beings. But as their lips and mouths moved, you never heard a sound. It was almost like a silent-picture movie.
Only a couple of months after you turned seventeen, did you begin to hear things in those said dreams. It was as if someone was turning up the volume on the radio really, really slow. By the tenth or so dream, you could hear them clearly as if you were right beside them. You heard their conversations, their secrets, dreams, worries, fears... Everything. You found out what the man with the many faces was called; The Doctor, and that he was a Time Lord from a planet that no longer existed. As well the names of his prior companions and the planets and galaxies that they traveled to in space and time.
For years, every night, you had seen them and got to know them. You grew attached to them. The first one that you could remember was named Ace. There was even a Charlotte, and Lucie, and many others. But, then came Rose Tyler. Now, you remembered her name and face very well. You had grown very fond of her until she faded out of your dreams as well. It was a bit silly, but when you saw roses for sale, you bought them. You always had roses in your blue vase in your kitchen by the window. And only somewhat recently - in the past year or so - had you seen two new people with the Doctor; Martha and Donna. Martha was gone, long faded a couple of months ago, but Donna had stayed and was still in your dreams as of last night.
And though, having these dreams was, in fact, very intriguing and thought-inducing, they weren't always so grand. In addition to seeing all the marvelous places that the Doctor and his companions went to, there were the horrors that came with it. You had seen so many beings, so many creatures. And though some were quite peaceful, your mind was somewhat plagued by the evil ones. Though you had once thought Daleks were cool, design-wise, you began to fear them. Especially after what your dreams had said about them, had shown you. You feared the Clockwork Droids and the Sycorax. Not to mention the Abzorbaloff and the Racnoss. And you found the Ood quite interesting, despite their somewhat frightening appearance.
It was around eight in the morning when you woke up, your alarm blaring. You quickly grabbed your dream journal, writing down your latest dream involving the Doctor and Donna Noble before getting to work with a sketch. Swapping your dream journal, you grabbed your sketchbook and pencils. For the next hour or so, you sketched what you remember most about your dream. This dream was a bit different than most of the others that you had had, this one featuring less running for their lives and more enjoying their lives. They had traveled to this planet that the Doctor found extraordinary. It was purple. The ground was purple, and the grass and vegetation were purple. And the large trees, reminding you of Giant Sequoias, were orange and red. You liked the red ones best. You loved it when the Doctor stood in front of one of those orange trees, admiring the colors as the sun rose. You wondered what it might have felt like to have been there. What did the planet smell like? Sound like?
Before you knew it, your mind had wandered, and you snapped out of your memories of your recent dream. Looking down at the two pages that you practically filled with sketches from the said dream, you sighed. Like most days, you had filled the page with him. Mostly. The page on the left had a sketch of the large, towering trees, the silhouettes of the Doctor and Donna standing before them, looking so small. On the same page, you had even drawn some of the plants that the Doctor had pointed out to Donna with such infatuation and excitement. Then, turning to the page on the right, it was filled to the brim with just the Doctor. A collage of his many different expressions; joy, excitement, calm, and content.
Some were of him from his side profile, while others were of his full frontal view; brown suit and dirty Converse. He had a goofy grin, in what was the middle of a bright laugh, his hands on his hips as if he was proud of himself. His hair was very messy, with dark strands sticking up everywhere, unable to be captured and secured by the gel in his hair. He looked so carefree. Other sketches showed just his eyes, the dark orbs seemed to stare at you through the page; in addition to some of just his nose, hands, or that smile of his. In the bottom right corner of the collage, you had a drawing of him crouching in front of one of the many plants, arms resting on his knees as he stared down at it thoughtfully.
You found him beautiful.
That was something that you had noticed in the many, many years of seeing the spaceman in your dreams. He was handsome, caring, and thoughtful. Very handsome indeed, although you wouldn't admit it to anyone. Most people would probably think that you were crazy if you had told them that you were crushing on a man that you had seen every night in your dreams for years upon years. And that's why you never told anyone. Not even your closest friends knew about your dreams, your journals, or your drawings.
Sighing, you snapped out of your thoughts once more before writing the date and time - ‘March 21st, 2024, 8:53 AM’ - in the corner of the left side page in fine print. Then, right below, you wrote, 'Day 8,432.' Setting your pencil down, you stared at the finished two pages for a moment before closing the sketchbook slightly. You would have to go and buy a new sketchbook soon, you were almost out of room; running out of pages.
Checking the time, you figured you had enough time to look at the previous dreams. Flipping towards the front of the sketchbook, you reminisced over the dreams you had seen throughout the year. The first page of the sketchbook was of the last couple of dreams with Rose.
Fighting off or running from different types of aliens. Her and the Doctor holding hands, smiling at each other. Staring up at falling snow… Having tea with Jackie… Fighting the Daleks… The tears streamed down their cheeks. The Doctor… Hand and cheek pressed against a white wall, unable to do anything, helpless. And Rose, stuck in another dimension; in agony, heartbroken.
You bit your bottom lip as you flipped through the pages and the memories, you stumbled past the ten pages of Martha before landing back to Donna.
You had often wondered whether your dreams truly meant anything. You had thought that there had to be some way that they did. Your mind would think rationally, telling you that you just had an overactive imagination like all those doctors had told you. But, your heart wished and yearned for something more. The thought that something more was out there. That there were beings and creatures out in the far-off places of the galaxy that you and everyone else hadn't yet seen. The whole thought was fascinating and you only wished that it was true. You had always wished for there to be something more out there.
Shutting your sketchbook, you quickly got ready for the day; getting dressed, brushing your hair, teeth, and so on. After eating breakfast, you grabbed your messenger bag and stuffed your pencil case, sketchbook, wallet, phone, and whatever else you needed for work before leaving your home.
The walk to work was a bit too quick for your liking, but time seemed to fly and before you knew it, it was your lunch break. Walking down the sidewalk, you were minding your own business, somewhat lost in your thoughts. Headphones over your head, you listened to your playlist as you headed towards your favorite cafe where you always had lunch; their sandwiches were to die for.
But before you could decide on whether or not to get a coffee or indulge yourself in a milkshake, you felt a tap on your shoulder. You stopped, turned, and then froze. Your eyes widened, your jaw dropping slightly as you stared at the man before you. Dressed in a brown suit with a white button-up and brown detailed tie; complete with a brown, long overcoat and off-white Converse. He had very familiar brown, sticky-uppy hair and striking brown eyes... His gaze, intense, stared right back at you. As handsome as ever. His eyebrows were slowly but surely furrowing as the corners of his lips twitched into a confused frown.
You were literally speechless, your shaky hands moving your headphones to rest around your neck. He was actually here. Standing right in front of you. After a few moments of silence of staring at each other - but what felt like hours for you - his mouth opened, his voice sounding just like how you remembered it, just like in your dreams, only clearer. "Hello." He said simply, tilting his head to the side and raising his hand to reveal the pencil he held within it. "I think you dropped this."
You looked from him to your pencil, and back, and finally, you could breathe. "O-Oh... Uh, thank you." You took your pencil from him before daring to look back up at him.
He continued to stare at you, obviously confused that you could practically see the gears turning in that head of his. "Do I know you?" He asked, stuffing his hands into the large pockets of his brown overcoat. He raked through his mind, trying to figure out if he had ever met you or run into you before when he visited Earth, but he was left empty-handed. He was sure that he would’ve remembered you if he had met you. “You seem to know me…”
You let out a breath, blinking rapidly, still shocked out of your mind that the literal man of your dreams was standing right in front of you. It couldn't and shouldn't have been possible.
"No... I don't think you know me..." You muttered, swallowing thickly, unable to break your gaze from his hazelnut brown eyes. "But... But I do know you." That only seemed to confuse him more. Quickly looking away, you checked your watch on your wrist before looking back up at him, "I can explain everything somewhat if you have the time- nevermind," You shook your head - as if what you had said was ridiculous, which it was in his case - and waved your hand dismissively, "Time is relative... Ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff." You muttered the last couple of lines, mostly to yourself, but he heard you; only spiking his immense curiosity. "Uh, just follow me."
The man - The Doctor - followed you without a second thought, a step or two behind you as you led him to the park across the street. Finding a park bench somewhat away from the main path, you took a seat. As the Doctor sat down beside you, you took your messenger bag into your lap, opening it. The Doctor watched intently as you grabbed your sketchbook and passed it to him.
He noted your name on the cover before he opened it to the first page and froze. Though as quickly as he froze, he unfroze, quickly but carefully flipping through the many pages of your sketchbook; his, and many of his past and current companions' faces staring up at him.
Martha and Donna… And Rose…
Along with objects and aliens from his prior adventures; the TARDIS - inside and exterior - his Sonic Screwdriver, Oods, and Daleks…
And in the first couple of pages, he even saw one of his past faces.
He saw little scenes, moments of his life and the adventures he had been on with his companions. He saw a sketch of himself, standing before the Clockwork Droids in the ballroom when they had wanted to harvest Madame de Pompadour’s brain for the ship. Turning a couple of pages, he saw a sketch of when he and Martha were in the hospital she worked at when it was transported to the moon. And flipping a couple of more pages, he saw when he saved Donna from the Empress of the Racnoss on her wedding day.
Once he got to the last and recent page, he looked up at you. And what you had thought was going to be a look of confusion and shock, you were surprised to find that instead, he had a wide grin on his face; eyes wide in excitement and curiosity. "This is incredible!" Your eyes widened.
"What?"
"Your drawings of course!" He answered, gesturing to your sketchbook with a hand, "I must know, can you see the future or into the past? Or do these just come to you? In all my years of traveling through space and time, I have never seen anything like this, to this extent!"
You blinked, "Uh... I don't really know much or how this works... I'm still a bit shocked you're even real, in front of me." You rubbed your cheek, glancing away, "Ever since I was a kid, I've had dreams about you every night." You inwardly cringed when you said that aloud, "They're so vivid, so... Real. They feel so real!" You paused, thinking about it. Looking back up at him, you continued, "I've seen everything you and your companions had gone through. Daleks, cybermen, everything. Well, not everything. But, I've seen a lot of it." You looked down at your lap, "I have always wondered whether or not those dreams really meant something if they were as real as they seemed to be. Or if I was just crazy… For years, I have always wondered if there was really life beyond Earth, beyond the solar system... If there was something bigger, better out there in the vastness of space." You closed your eyes, taking a deep breath. Opening them again, you looked up at him; watching as the Doctor stared at you in wonder. His eyes sparkled, filled with emotion. He was clearly fascinated.
And he was fascinated. He was so incredibly captivated by everything about this human who sat before him. "So you know who I am?" He passed back your sketchbook.
You nodded. "Of course. You're the Doctor." You answered simply.
You then watched as he then wordlessly grabbed the Sonic Screwdriver from the inside pocket of his overcoat before scanning you. You blinked again, the somewhat bright, blue light blinding you momentarily as the Doctor stared down at the object with a thoughtful frown. "Well, you're human all right. Nothing out of the ordinary there." He was silent for a long moment before suddenly looking up at you with a small grin, eyes still bright. "Come with me."
Your eyes widened, "What?"
He stood from the bench and offered you his hand, grinning at your bewildered expression. "Come with me. The TARDIS brought me to you for a reason. See the great dying stars of the Berugawa galaxy, see new worlds, and new beings, and see amazing planets beyond your wildest imagination!”
Your eyes widened. The sight of him, the way his warm chocolate eyes gleamed, and the way his face lit up made your heart flutter; the charm. There was always something that drew you to him, something about his aura that made your heart beat faster and your chest tighten; a sort of gravitational pull that seemed to pull you closer to him; like the planets that orbited around the sun.
You could finally see all the things that you had seen in your dreams. You could live the life that you so wished that you could live. One of adventure and discovery; one of being able to go anywhere and see anything. To learn anything you could, to experience everything possible. And you could even possibly find out why you’ve been having those dreams in the first place. The possibilities were endless...
And then you saw him - the Doctor - your dream come true, standing right in front of you; his open hand waiting for yours.
A smile slowly stretched across your lips as you took his hand, standing up. Hands interlocked at your sides, you followed the Doctor to the TARDIS, which sat parked on the curb, waiting patiently for its passengers. You felt excitement bubble within your stomach as he opened the door, your smile widening at the sight.
The Doctor watched you with his own grin as he led you inside. You slowly dropped his hand as you slowly spun around you, looking at the lights and the console in the middle of the room; unable to stop smiling; the awe on your face made his grin widen. "I know you hear this a lot, but..." You began, turning around to look up at him, your grin matching his. "It's bigger on the inside."

Wordcount: 700(ish)
Series masterpost
Honestly I just wanna post something but I can't get around to finishing my new Doctor's Daughter fic for the as of yet unnamed Doctor Who series so I'm going back to my roots and using the maybe prompt list
23) Don't call me that
29) I'm never leaving, I promise
Tumblr media
You burned, your body burned away with a single realization, you loved The Doctor. But not just loved, you were in love. You were in love with The Doctor. The man who saved you and destroyed your world in one day, the man who showed you a glimpse of the universe and left you wanting more. The man in the old blue box.
When a Time Lord regenerates a lot of things can happen, one of which is a loss of consciousness.
When you opened your eyes both The Doctor and Martha were looking down at you. You looked at The Doctor, blinked and smiled, "looks like I won" You said with a lopsided smile.
"Ugh, new mouth, I hate the feeling of a new mouth" You grumbled and tried to bring yourself up but the Doctor's arms quickly surrounded you, helping you up carefully instead. He didn't say anything simply helping you stand.
You tried to take a step on your own only to stumble, your legs felt like burned jelly.
"Doctor" You said carefully and The Doctor kept to himself how much he missed hearing you call him love.
"Yes?" He simply said.
"I don't think I'm done regenerating" You said, fainting into his arms.
The next thing you know you wake up in your room in the Tardis. The feeling of your sheets beneath you and your books and journals lining the walls. Beside you, on a chair you know he brought from somewhere else sat the Doctor. His face was drawn and he looked lost in thought.
You looked over at him and smiled.
"Hello again" You said. He didn't look amused.
"Why did you do that?" He asked.
"What?"
"Why did you force yourself to regenerate?? He asked.
You looked at him trying to both remember what happened and answer, "Doctor—"
"Don't call me that." He said sternly.
You closed your eyes and sighed.
"Love"
"Why did you do it? Why did you put yourself through that? I told you to go to protect you" He said and you sat up, looking him in his gorgeous brown eyes.
"Because I refuse to leave you" You said and he scowled.
"Don't say that—"
"I never want to leave you" You said, taking his hands in yours. You admired the sight.
"Doctor, I love you and I want to spend the rest of my lives with you—"
"No, no, don't say that" He repeated but you held his hands tightly. You knew why he felt this way, why he reacted the way he did but your post regeneration mind still wasn't fully working.
"Do you not feel the same? If you don't, I'll stop—"
"No, I, I" He said. his eyes were tearing up.
"Doctor I love you, do you love me back?" You asked.
"Of course I do, I adore you" He said, "Y/N you light my dark starless sky. You make me feel whole, like I'm no longer alone. It's not that"
"Then what is it?" You asked.
"They always leave." He said solemnly, looking away, "In the end they always leave"
You moved one of your hands up to hold The Doctor's face. forcing him to look at you.
"I'm never leaving, promise" You said and you saw a tiny smile peak it's way through his expression.
"You are brilliant" He whispered and you smiled.
"I love you" You said and he smiled too, a true full smile.
"I love you too" He said.
There was a beautiful moment, the two of you just basking in the love and care you had for one another and then you burst out laughing.
The Doctor was taken aback, his expression only sending you further into your fit of laughter.
"What? What's going on?" He asked only to be met with more laughter.
"Y/N are you okay?" He asked.
"Yes, I—" You could barely control it but you did. You controlled it enough to say, "It's just, stars that was cheesy, I don't know where that came from" You said and you could tell there was a dash of shock and worry on The Doctor's face so you clarified, "I guess this is what I am now. A cheesy romantic"
The Doctor smiled, "There are worse things to be" He said and you nodded.

I would love to see your take on a tenth Doctor x GN!reader who’s an introvert
I hope I wrote this okay! I'm not an introvert whatsoever lol
Tumblr media
Not A People Person
Pairings: Tenth Doctor x Gn! Reader
Summary: You hated people, not only that but they drained your energy. The doctor wanted to help with that
Word count: 781
Warnings: none
Meeting The Doctor was probably the most stressful and amazing thing that had ever happened to you. He seemed charmed by you the minute he met you during yet another alien invasion. You weren't scared, screaming for your life or acting like everyone else during the alien invasion, no this made you excited? Despite being surrounded by dangerous aliens, this was something that seemed to inspire you instead of push you away. Maybe this was what drew The Doctor to you.
The more you had spent time with The Doctor, the more he realized just how much people seemed to make you uncomfortable. You would start the day feeling energized and perhaps excited but after being surrounded by lots of people on top with running- or being dragged around by The Doctor your energy would be practically depleted. Today was no different than any other day.
You enter the Tardis with the doctor in tow and you look tired, a from on your sunken looking face as you grab a few of your blankets that you had brought onto the tardis before you sit down on the nearest seat, curling up in one of the corners as you close your eyes and take a deep breath. The doctor stares at you for just a moment before he makes his way over to the couch in the Tardis and he sits down beside you. "Are you alright Y/n?" he asked almost cautiously. without opening your eyes you hum, shifting your body so you slump against him instead of the side of the couch.
The doctor immediately wraps an arm around you and the blankets you had wrapped around you, his two hearts beating a little bit faster as you place your head on his chest. You don't want to speak but he also deserves an answer from you too. So with a sigh escaping your lips you look up at him, finally opening your eyes, staring into his beautiful brown eyes. "Im an introvert." You blurt out, shifting your posotion so you were more comfortable against his body as you sigh again.
"People stress me out, i dont like them and i never will. i can start the day off with a lot of energt but by the end of the day my energy bar is so depleted that if the Daleks decided to kidnap me i would honestly let them as long as i can be alone to recharge. That is how bad it get sometimes." You huff, rubbing your face with your hands as if to erase some of the tiredness you feel as of right now.
The doctor hummed, staring at you for a moment as he retained the information that you had just told him. You watched as his eyebrows furrowed slightly, and then watched as he ran a hand through his reddish Brown hair. Sighing softly. “Alright, why don't we take a break for a bit then? Stay at your apartment, order in some food and watch some movies and just hang out? Like people.” He suggested, and you couldn't help the smile that grew on your lips, and you pulled him into a right hug, whispering a soft thank you in his ear.
And just like that he took you back to your apartment, you ordered snacks and food through the phone and soda from the convenience store close by, of course The doctor went and bought it for you with your money, but you were grateful regardless. And now you laid in your bed with his arms wrapped around you and you were eating snacks, drinking soda and watching your favorite movie together. Slowly you recharged all that energy that You had lost while adventuring with The Doctor.
This is all you needed, truely.
So the doctor made a point to give you a recharge day every week, so you would have your fun and then in the middle of the week, typically on a wednesday you had your recharge day, cuddling and binge eating with your friend, lover, doctor. He always met your needs, and yet you felt like you could never meet his, you always asked if there was anything you could do to help him like he had helped you, however he always brushed it off and told you he never needed anything except for your company.
It was a nice sentiment. However, you were still worried about him. But for now, you let your worries about the doctor subside as yet another adventure would be coming your way, along with monsters and aliens that try to kill you but fail. And you are just excited about your next recharge date.

December 6. Christmas Cuddles (10th doctor x gn! reader)
25 Days of Ficmas - Day 6
Christmas Cuddles (10th doctor x gn! reader)
Word count -  1537
Warnings - None just tons of fluff
Pairing(s) - 10th doctor x Gn! Reader
Summary - Movie night leads to the cutest moment
Tumblr media
Traveling with the doctor made everything a little bit more complicated. There were times that you thought you had died and gone to heaven because surely this wasn’t your life! Surely you weren’t fighting aliens and monsters and everything in between. But, somehow it was your reality and you loved every last second of it.
You loved being able to save all of those innocent beings, you loved the thrill of running for your life hand in hand with a handsome timelord, you loved the excitement of waking up wondering what new planet you were going to wind up on, and you especially loved your doe-eyed, sticky uppy haired timelord.
That's right you had fallen head over heels with the Doctor. There was something so utterly fantastic about him, that you couldn’t help yourself. He was like the painting museums kept hidden in the very back, not admired by everyone but the ones who saw the beauty in it enough to stay were truly lucky. The TARDIS never took him to where he wanted to go, but only where he needed to go. And, she took him to you- you of all the creatures and being in the universe.  You felt lucky enough that he picked you as his companion, although he would always say that you picked him.
This was the biggest mystery in the whole entire universe to you. But, you decided to thank your lucky stars she had deemed you worthy of him.
Your relationship with the Doctor was interesting to say the very least. There would be fleeting glances, small touches, and most importantly…movie nights.  Because, if the Doctor was one thing- he was a sap when it came to seeing you happy.
Nothing seemed to make you happier than having a weekly movie night. A simple time where you two were able to stay in and enjoy each other's company and simply be in the stillness. At first, the Doctor absolutely hated it. He was a time lord for heaven’s sake! He was meant to be running about and fixing things, but you quickly changed his mind. Especially once the Christmas season rolled around.
There you were in your very fuzzy large hoodie in your absolutely favorite color, or your  “movie night hoodie” as you deemed it. You had made yourself a makeshift fort amongst all the blankets the Doctor seemed to have in his movie room. Even though you’ve spent what felt like years with the Doctor and his little blue box, you still find yourself constantly surprised by new things. The excitement seemed to practically burst out of you as you wiggled in your spot on the very large couch.
The best part about tonight was that it was your turn to pick the movie. Last week the doctor picked ‘A Muppets Christmas Carol’, which he claimed was an utter classic (and he was absolutely right). It was honestly adorable to see him get so passionate about something for you, something so very human. It warmed your heart to see someone who had the universe at his very fingertips willing to pay attention to you and what you liked.
Tonight you decided to pick one of your all-time favorite Christmas movies ‘Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer’. This was the movie you were brought up on as a child, and even though your childhood had some rocky patches in it this movie always brought up wonderfully warm nostalgia.
Slowly your head moved back and forth as the title credits began to play. You could practically feel the Christmas spirit swell up in your belly like some kind of Christmas magic. Funny how pure moments from our childhood can make us believe in magic all over again.
“Please tell me you didn’t start it without me!” The Doctor peaked his head into the room as he carried a tower of snacks with everything from popcorn, candy, and even some perfectly balanced mugs of hot cocoa in his arms.
Your eyes flicked over to him as they widened with anxiety. “Doctor I swear if you drop any of that-” you sighed as he raised an eyebrow at you before setting everything down on the coffee table. Smugly he gave you a ‘you were saying’ look as you picked up the blankets and he snuggled up right next to you.
Sometimes you forgot just how affectionate this regeneration of his was, and honestly, you didn’t mind. His ninth regeneration was kind, but never like this. He never curled up to you like a cat desperately seeking warmth. But, ten on the other hand…well he was a completely different story.
“No of course I didn’t start it without you, the opening credits are just a mile long, so I thought we’d get those out of the way,” you said as you kept nodding your head along to the music
“Ah, how smart of you, no wonder I chose you as my companion.” he hummed wrapping one arm around yours and resting his head on your shoulder. When he was this close it made you want to confess every last thing you felt for him. But, something always held you back and you always let it.
Trying your very best to ignore how fast your heart was pounding you turned your attention to the movie and forced yourself to get lost in it. Everything was going perfectly until-
“What do you mean they won’t let him be a dentist!” The Doctor exclaimed sitting up straight with concern in his eyes. He looked like a golden retriever who just lost his favorite ball, and it made your heart utterly melt.
“Well they want him to be an elf just like everyone else is, he has to make toys for Santa, or else no one thinks he’s any use.” you tried your best to explain but it seemed fruitless.
“NO USE?!?! Y/N dear there’s plenty of use for a dentist at the North Pole! Do you know how much sugar those elves digest on a daily basis?” he said taking a couple of sips of his hot cocoa.
“Oh just watch the movie spaceman.”  you playfully rolled your eyes as you patted the spot next to you again, and happily, he settled back down. This time resting his head in your lap. Oh the things this alien does to you
A little while later you were on the part where Rudolph decides to sacrifice himself if needs be and rescue his hometown. Glancing down at the Doctor a small smile formed on your lips as you saw how intently he was watching the movie. Absentmindedly, you started to play with his hair. Then all of a sudden you heard a soft “Y/N?” and you froze.
Gently, he reached up and grabbed your hand encouraging you to keep going “No no please don’t stop, I um erm um I like it.” he choked out awkwardly but it warmed your soul nonetheless. So, you kept going and could practically feel him relax into you.
It was peaceful moments like this with the Doctor that you’d always valued. There was nothing quite like being able to sit on the couch and make the man who always runs relax for a couple of moments. Not every person can claim they’ve managed to tame the Doctor, but you proudly have. Even if it was just a little bit. To you, it meant the entire world- no the entire universe.
There you two laid, a tangled mess of Christmas warmth and love, even if it was just platonic love you were okay with that. For to be loved by the Doctor in any fashion was the greatest kind of them all. As the end of the movie played neither of you dared to move from your spots. Too scared you’d break the magic that seemed to be surrounding you.
“Doctor-”
“Y/N”
You two blushed a light pink as you laughed at the awkward moment. Slowly, he picked up his head from your lap moving closer to you. His eyes held a mixture of fear, love, worry, and adoration. Somehow you could tell that it was all for you. After a long silence, he finally blurted out something he’d been dying to ask since you bumped into the TARDIS.
“Can I kiss you?”
Without even thinking you quickly nodded moving impossibly closer to him. Your heart was racing faster and faster, and to be honest you were a little concerned that you’d have a heart attack. Then, as if out of a dream, it finally happened.
His lips collided with yours in a beautiful sympathy, and you knew for sure then that you truly loved him. His kiss was everything you ever dreamed about and even more. Your arms wrapped around his neck as his hand got tangled up in your hair as he smiled in the kiss.
As you two pulled back for some air you both wore the same dopey love-sick grin. “Merry Christmas Doctor,” you whispered gently.
“Oh merry Christmas my shooting star,” he replied stealing another kiss from you…and another….and another….and- oh you get the point.

10th Doctor X Reader Summary- The Reader has a very frightening start of their day, until a dashing man and his box comes to their rescue, but due to their brain being overloaded and confused by very new concepts, they think that they HAVE to be dreaming... right?
Writers Note- I wrote this story quite a while ago and have been contemplating if I should post it or not. It's short due to it being the first story i have ever written, but i am very willing to write longer and more in-depth stories in the near future!
It was strange.
Today was meant to go like every other day. but for some reason… Everything went topsy-turvy. I woke up with a startle from my alarm, 10:30pm like usual, signaling that it was time to get up and get dressed for work.
Everything was meant to be normal.... what happened?
I took a shower, made some food, and gathered my things. Anticipating that long work hours for tonight.
I walked to my car, quickly setting my things on the passenger side seat and then making my way around to the driver side… but something stopped me. the low humming…. the soft beeping…. the weird rhythmic vibration of the cement beneath me… I quickly looked around for any sign of machinery or… anything that could make such a noise… nothing. Nothing but the cars that lined my street and the soft buzzing of the street lamps that softly aluminate the pavement beneath me.
I turned back around, quickly opening my car door and about to sit inside until…"Come with us."
I shriek as I am yanked backwards by my wrists and slammed up against my car. I tilt and turn my head as best as I can. "What the hell are you doing!?" I shout at the people dressed as.. robots? I scoff of course, thinking this is some weird prank or an…. odd robbery. I see one of them come to my left side, gun in hand. Looks much like a water gun with shiny metal bits attached. I roll my eyes, a prank… of course. "I'm gonna be lat-" "you do not have permission to communicate." I furrow my brows. This is ridiculous! I stare at the man as he aims the "gun" at me. I wince, waiting for water to shoot out of this thing, until this weird red beam of light comes out seeming to scan me up and down. "It is what we need." I am pulled up from off the car with force. I wince from the strength of his grasp. Trying to shake him off only makes him grip tighter and I am for certain it will leave bruises. I am forced to walk with them, getting shoved every so often to keep pace.
As we walk, my eyes latch on to something I have never seen before... or at least never paid attention to.
In my neighbors yard sits…A strange police…box? I've never seen that there before… unless my neighbors has gotten really into a peculiar sense of decoration. I see a man step out of said box… He's not my neighbor and I’ve definitely haven’t seen this man before in my neighborhood- Who is he? I am knocked from my thoughts with a big shove, having stopped to stare at the man. The "robots" rushing me along as the man makes eye contact with me. He puts his finger up to his lips in a shushing motion as he slowly creeps through the shadows. I look forward hearing the same low humming and soft beeping, seeing some type of ship materialize right in front of me.
My head slowly starts to feel watered down. My brain trying to rationalize everything in front of me, yet every rational guess coming to a screeching halt as nothing right now makes any sense. We slowly approach this air craft of some sort. As we get 20 feet away from the ship, the robots start to spaz in front me, one by one falling to the ground. As the robots that were holding onto me falls, I'm taken down with it. My hands being held by the things harsh grasp, I can not catch my self- crashing into the body of one of the fallen robots. My vision turns dark, all senses seeming to collapse all at once. And that's where I am now... Having woke up in this blue box that is some how bigger on the inside than on the outside and the man that claims that he is the 'doctor' saying he saved me going on and on about quantum physics and time. "I'm gonna be honest," I say, halting the doctors unstopping discussion,
"I have already came to the conclusion that this," I jester around towards…. everything, "is a dream. This talk about time and this… thing…. box… makes no sense, not to mention the weird metal robots that tried to kidnap me….I would like to wake up now."
The doctor laughs seemingly amused, "believe what you want but this…” he mocks my jesters from earlier, "…is reality. I know that may be hard to decipher in that human brain of yours but you can't argue with a Time Lord." I stare, my mouth slightly agape, "a…. time… lord… you're kidding!" i say, laughing out of bewilderment. "nope, sorry to say I'm not kidding!" he says while shaking his head. I laugh, "well, until I am proved that I am not in a dream, I'm just gonna believe that all of this is… weirdly a part of my creativity." He tilts his head, a goofy smile showing up on his face as he makes his way around this table... controller... thing...
"Time shall tell." He quickly slams his fists down on a button, and flips a lever down. Everything kicks into actions from randoms sparks to the shaking and rumbling of the entire box as the doctor frantically pulls levers and turns things. Feeling my feet almost leave from underneath me grasp onto the nearest thing next to me, it being a hand rail. He looks at me, his grin growing huge…
"Oh this is gonna be fun!"

A Quiet Day With The Doctor
Warnings: None, fluff
Written with male reader in mind, but has gender neutral pronouns
The Doctor laid in his bed, covered in blankets and held a stuffed animal, a chinchilla to be exact. It was a gift Y/n won him at a fair not too long ago and the Doctor loved it with all his two hearts. Currently, it was held tightly against his chest as he laid on his side, eyes closed and head full of thought. Not bad ones, per say, just thoughts. A knock on his door interrupted his thoughts. Y/n slowly opened the door and peeked inside. “Are you sleeping?” They whispered. “I’m not sleeping, I’m thinking.” The Doctor answered back, his eyes still closed. “Looks to me like you're sleeping.” Y/n said as they entered the Doctor’s room. “Would it be such a crime if I was?” The Doctor opened one eye to see Y/n sit at the edge of his bed. “I think so, yeah.” “Why’s that?” “You never sleep, you even hate it when I sleep.” The Doctor rolled his eyes as he sat up. “Do you need something?” “Hey, I remember this!” Y/n grabbed the chinchilla and looked at him with found eyes. “I would hope so, you won it only a few months ago.” “Well, yea, I just didn’t think I’d see it here.” “Here? In my room? Where else would it be?” “I don’t know, you just don’t seem like you’d keep stuffies in a reasonable area.” “What’s that mean?” Y/n scooted back and sat against the headboard. “You seem like a man that would leave stuffies everywhere. In the kitchen, in the bathroom, in any place but where they would be deemed reasonable places.” “Where on earth did you get that from?” Y/n shrugged. The Doctor chuckled and shuffled back, leaning against the headboard as well. “I’ve never known you to like silence and being alone so what’s going on in that head of yours?” The Doctor shrugged. “Thoughts. Things.” “What sorts of thoughts and things?” “Everything and nothing.” Y/n just smiled. “You’re a strange one, Doctor.” “That I am indeed.” Y/n leaned their head on the Doctor’s shoulder and sighed. “I know you don’t particularly like slow, quiet days, but I was thinking we could have a break, just for the day.” “Sounds slow and quiet.” The Doctor smiled. “Yea I know, how boring.” Y/n joked. “I don’t see why not, seems I’ve been hit with the need of taking it slow and quiet for the day anyway.” “Is that why you were bundled up like a child during winter?” “Oi!” “What? It was cute.” The Doctor chuckled to play off the blush forming on his cheeks. “I’m not sure. The TARDIS seemed to think my room should be the first door I see today. Maybe she’s telling me she needs a break.” Y/n hummed. “Maybe. I thought something might be wrong, this is the first time I’ve seen your room.” The Doctor’s room was just about as you'd expect. There were books littered on his bedside table, on the floor, in his bed, and on a small desk in the corner. A small radio and some pens sat on the bedside table, and a few momentos from adventures were randomly placed around the room. “Really? Well, I can’t blame you, I don’t use it much if at all. Makes me wonder why the old girl has it in the first place really.” “For days like these, I think. Plus, if you didn’t have a room, where would you put Reginald?” “Reginald? No, no, no, his name is Alonzo, get it right.” The Doctor took the chinchilla back from Elliott and tucked it behind his crossed arms. Y/n chuckled. “My apologies, Doctor. If you didn’t have this room, where would you put Alonzo?” “Oh I don’t know, probably the kitchen, bathroom, or any other unreasonable spot.” Y/n laughed as the Doctor looked down at them with a soft look. He hadn’t been able to breathe so freely before, think so clearly, act so calmly in so long. Maybe Y/n was right, maybe the TARDIS made this room for days like these, for moments like this with his favorite person in the universe. “What say you and I grab a few books from the library, make some tea, and meet back here? This room’s gotta be used for something so why don’t we use it for us?” The thought of sharing a room with Elliott instantly crossed the Doctor’s mind, it left him embarrassed at the speed of which he had to shove it far, far away. “Sounds brilliant. I’ll make the tea, you grab the books?” “Sounds like a deal, space man.” “You know, you say that like it’s a nickname or insult, but you do realize you’re a spaceman now too, right?” Y/n thought for a minute. “Mr. and Mx. Space Man it is then.” Y/n hopped off the bed, leaving a very flustered Doctor.
The concept of sharing a last name with Y/n had crossed his mind before, but hearing it come from Y/n’s mouth had shook his hearts to their core. Of course, they didn’t say it seriously, if there was going to be any shared last name, it would have to be Y/n’s seeing as the Doctor is just that, the Doctor. He had a name once of course, but it had been so long since he uttered it let alone heard it that he accepted ‘Doctor’ as his one and only name. Maybe he would give himself a last name, secretly, just for the hope that one day he would have the strength to confess every hearts flutter, every stomach churn, every weakened knees. For the hope that one day, a few years after their first date, he would get on one knee and ask for Y/n to be his for however long they have left. The Doctor knew it was borderline hopeless, he was never one to openly talk about feelings that were his own and while he was great at giving advice, he never listened to it himself.
The Doctor shook his head, ridding his thoughts from his head as he went down to the kitchen to make tea. As he entered his room again, he noticed the lights dimmed and a few more stuffed animals, Y/n’s to be exact. “Welcome to Comfortville, Doctor.” Y/n said from the bed. They were leaned against the backboard again with a few books by their side. “It’s a pleasure to be here, Y/n.” The Doctor handed a cuppa to Y/n and sat next to them. He grabbed the first book and began reading as Y/n continued their book.
Six books, five cups of tea, and a few hours later, Y/n was lying between the Doctor’s legs, head resting on his chest with a book in one hand and a stuffed animal cradled to their chest with the other hand. The Doctor was mindlessly combing his fingers through Y/n’s hair as he neared the end of book number 5. “Nearly finished, Starlight? Starlight?” The Doctor set his book down and stopped petting Y/n’s hair. Then, the unmistakable sound of soft snores filled the Doctor’s ears. He smiled as he realized Y/n fell asleep.
It was a finicky thing, sleep was. Sleeping can be affected by stress, mental health, physical health, and the environment around you. It was something the Doctor wasn’t particularly confused about, he just never really experienced it. Not to its full capability, at least. Sure, he’s taken short naps and slept that one time he regenerated, but he’s never dreamed or felt particularly energized afterwards. One thing he definitely knew about sleeping is that people never sleep in front of people they don’t trust or feel comfortable with. Unless you’re talking about people in New York, that’s a different story. That’s besides the point.
The Doctor felt pride bloom in his chest at the fact Y/n trusted him and felt comfortable around him enough to lay with him and fall asleep. After how much danger he got them in and how many injuries Y/n sustained because of him, they still trusted the Doctor. “I don’t deserve you…” The Doctor muttered, brushing some hair away from Y/n’s eyes. “And yet I have the undeniable urge to have you all to myself. Isn’t that odd? An old time lord desiring a human with their entire life ahead of them?” Of course, Y/n doesn’t answer, only light snores escaping their mouth. “I promise, no matter what, I will always protect you, you come first no matter who’s before me. I lo… I love you.” The Doctor leaned forward and pressed a tender kiss to the top of Y/n’s head. “Sweet dreams, Starlight.”

Opening Requests!
I'm gonna close it after I get like ten to twenty responses so I don't accidentally overwork myself.
I will potentially reject the ones I'm not comfortable/don't know how to write.
To keep it manageable and not do any characters I don't know well, I'm only doing Loki and The Doctor for now. might expand it later!
I'm willing to write male!reader, but try to keep it simple as I am a cis woman and not very experienced in it yet.
I'll start on these when I finish writing the last chapter of Chrysalis: Part Two

Happiness is Fleating (Part One)
A/N: Long time, no see! I am so sorry for disappearing. Completely lost motivation to do much of anything creatively. And got sick, again. I'm okay now though, just some chronic illness stuff but I'm going to try and bounce back, hopefully with some more original works and maybe fics of heartstopper, dbh and stranger things. As well as anything in my drafts lol.
I've never seen a crossover with Doctor Who and Detroit: Become Human, anywhere. I know this is definitely a very specific niche and I hope those of you who enjoy my writing will enjoy it! It should be at least a two-parter, this just being the start of it. As always, I'm figuring out the plot as I go, anywho, I hope you all enjoy it! And again, gif choice has very little to do with plot lol.
Summary: Reader is devastated after the death of Connor during the fight for android rights, in denial, they use the Tardis to go back in time the day before he died, but The Tardis has other plans.
Theme: a lot of angst, sorry
Setting: a world where equal rights exist except for intelligent ai, also in the dbh universe where the doctor who universe merges.
Pairings: Tenth Doctor x Gn!Reader, Father!Hank x Son!Connor, Reader x Connor
Fandom: Detroit: Become Human, Doctor Who
Warnings: swearing, character death, grief, alcohol
Words: 2,391

----
"Hey, hey, stay. Please, stay." I practically whisper to Connor. I've held him in my arms for who knows how long, awaiting the doctor as he finishes off some Cybermen. He told me to stay here and keep Connor awake until Ten could come help. It's been so long and I don't think he's going to last any longer. The blue blood seeping from the gash on his side, looking at it makes me feel so hopeless and fearful that this is it. "Please stay, I can't lose you, Connor."
"Do me a favor, travel with the Doctor, and live your life. Please don't fret over me, I'll be okay." A soft smile creeps upon his features, his free hand, the one not holding onto his wound, reaches up to brush against my cheek. I hold his hand there with mine, the waterfall of tears threatening to fall.
"What about Hank? He needs you, Connor, you need him." I turn my head to place a gentle kiss on the palm of his hand. It's cold, his heaters have failed already.
"He'll be okay," Smiling again as he pauses, his blinking begins to slow. He continues, practically reading my mind, answering the questions yet to make it from my throat. "You'll be okay too. The Doctor will take care of you."
"You'll be okay." He mutters, throwing me one last smile before his systems shut down, everything slowing and turning off. And he's gone. He's already gone.
I hold him closer to me, rocking back and forth as I'm riddled with debilitating sobs. I move his hair out of his face, tangling my fingers in his locks, leaning my forehead down to touch his. Tears finally escaping from the confines of my eyes, dripping onto his cold--dead features. I couldn't save him. I couldn't save him and now he's gone.
I stay there, the lifeless Android held tightly in my arms. I lose track of time, letting it flow past me and letting grief evelope my being. Rocking him, whispering what good he could have done, muttering sorries while holding back sobs. Apologizing for failing him and letting him die.
Voices call out my name, muddled by the pain-stricken in my heart, a pair of hands gently pulls me away and up to stand. I close my eyes, ignoring the others around me. When I look back, I see someone take away Connor, carrying him away to whoever the hell knows. I scream, trying to run after him, to take him in my arms and somehow bring him back. I'm restrained as I struggle against their grip, screaming bloody murder. They've taken him, he's gone, he's really gone.
-----
"Y/N, you know you can't bring him back. He's gone." Ten tries to reason with me, he's been trying for the past few hours. But I could care less. I have a fucking time machine at my whim and I'm going to use it.
"Yes, I can. Him dying wasn't supposed to happen and you know that." I snap at him, running around the console, flipping switches, turning a couple knobs, and pressing a few buttons in the process.
"You could create a paradox! Not even remembering you saved him!" He counters, trying to pull me away from the console, I wiggle from his grip, jumping to push the final lever. It bangs, the Tardis whirring to life.
"I don't give a shit about paradoxes, he needs to be alive." I stare blankly at him, gripping onto the console, readying for the usual turbulence.
"Fine, you do this. But if you fuck up, don't come crying to me." His lips form a straight line, as he stares daggers at me, if looks could kill, I'd be six feet in the ground.
I roll my eyes, "I don't fuck up." Pursing my lips, I play with my next remark, weighing the consequences. "Unlike you."
He lets out a small sound, only to be described as a growl. Wow, mature. He steps back, anger painted on his features as the Tardis comes to a stop. I step back, turning on my heels and running out the TARDIS doors, yanking them open. I slam them shut, stepping out and onto the grass of the Earth before me.
"Y/N!" the Doctor practically growls as I hear him run after me, I walk farther away from the Tardis, looking for any sign of what day it is. I meant to come back the day before he died, to keep him far from the fight. So he wouldn't-- Nevermind.
The Doctor reaches me, his hand grasping my shoulder tightly, "Be careful."
"Sure." I hiss through clenched teeth, venom dripping from my voice. He cringes, regretting what he said before.
"I'm sorry." He apologizes, features softening.
I break from his grip, finding a digital newspaper laid on the bench not too far from where I stood. I grab a hold of it, then look beside me, noticing where I am. I'm stood in the park that looks over all of Detroit, I have no clue what park it is or in what relation to everything else it is. But I know what happened here. I look down at the newspaper tablet in hand, inspecting the date. when I find it, strategically placed in the top right corner, I throw it on the ground.
"Goddamn Tardis!" I yell, running my hands through my hair half hazardly, ready for another breakdown.
The Doctor must've followed me because when I turn to stalk towards the Tardis, he stands there, stopping me. "What is it?"
"Did you do it? Huh? Did you change the coordinates so you could get your fucking way?" I seethe, ready to stomp off, but he stops me. Looking at me with an innocently concerned gaze.
"Change the coordinates? No, I don't even know how to do that!" He yells back, turning on his heels to face away from me, ready to jump back into the TARDIS himself.
"Then what the hell happened?" I yell, chasing after him. He reaches the TARDIS, attempting to open the doors. Nothing, it doesn't budge. He tries to unlock it with his key, still nothing. Sonic, nothing. Brute force? Also nothing.
"She locked us out. She changed the coordinates. One of us must be needed here." He sighs, kicking the ground.
"Why the hell the day after he died?! That does nothing!" I throw my hands in the air, storming off. I head over to the railing that looks over the river. I shove my head into my hands. Tears threatening once again to fall. I hold them back, trying to keep my composure.
He stays silent, standing beside me at the railing. I raise my head to look over at the view, trying to come up with any reason as to why she brought us here. Why today of all days? I swear I set the exact date and time- Why would she do this, why would she change it?
"What do you think happens today?" Ten asks me, his hands having hold on the railing, keeping himself steady. I shrug, letting out a sigh of frustration, and anger-- everything that I could possibly be feeling at the moment. Hatred, sadness, grief- all of it.
"I don't know. I only know what was meant to be, what happened before. I- I never knew what happened today. If anything." He rests his hand on my upper back, trying his best to console me. Guess he's given up on anger.
"We need to find Hank." He tells me bluntly, in a tone that's expectant, expectant of me. But why?
"What good would he do? I'm sure he's furious with me." I let my gaze direct itself to him, my eyes meeting his. His expression is so soft, eyes glinting with something I can't even find the words to describe, his mouth formed in an understanding frown, eyebrows knitted as if I just told him everything I had bottled up. He looks as if he read my mind and my heart and knew all my thoughts and feelings with a single look. Breathe in.
"I don't know, but if he isn't the puzzle piece, he may lead us to what truly is." He holds my shoulders gently, his lips twitching up into a soft grin. Breathe out.
"Fine," Breathe in. "It's worth a shot I suppose." Breathe out. I go in for a hug, wrapping my arms tightly around him, "This doesn't mean I've forgiven you by the way. I'm still cross with you." As I say that, I press my face into his chest, hiding, hoping that if I hold onto him tight enough, I'll fade away and never feel again. Never exist again.
"Noted." He lets out a soft laugh, then pats my back as I step out of his grasp.
"So Hank's place, should we start our search there or the bars?" I ask, my hand reaching out to him.
He takes my hand in his, "The bars."
----
"Five bars and we've come up with nothing! Zip! Zilch!" I groan in frustration, kicking the ground with my foot as I dig my hands deeper into my pockets.
"What about Jimmy's bar? That's where we first met him, maybe he's there." He suggests, his shoulders shrugging, hopelessness painted in the browns of his eyes.
"He could be home as well," I add, wrapping my arms around myself as I gaze around me. It's decently cold, and it feels like it may snow soon. The road we stand on is completely abandoned, with no sight of another person, Android, or even a car.
"He could be, but there's a higher chance we'll find him at Jimmy's. He did just lose..." Ten then stops himself when he sees my expression fall, furrowing his eyebrows and then taking a sharp breath. He looks away, "I'm sorry." His hands are stuffed in his pockets when he looks back at me. "I really am. I am so sorry."
"Jimmy's bar then." I change the subject, looking away from him down the long and winding road before us. Littered with protest signs and..Android parts? But we just won the revolution yesterday? Maybe it's old, yet to be picked up and taken care of. And how did I not notice this until now?
"Allons-y!" He puts on a goofy grin, trying to lighten my mood as he holds out his hand for me, wiggling his fingers. I take his hand in mine and he runs. Again.
We take a few corners down the sidewalk along closed down buildings, lights off, and closed signs out. This doesn't feel right. I haven't seen one building besides the bars in town that are open or at least look semi-taken care of. We take a right at an intersection, where a grocery outlet is sat on the corner, aka the only open building I can see. I look in and for a second I think I'm seeing things when I see a speckle of brown hair poking up, an Android jacket donning on the person in ownership of the brunette locks. I stop Ten, my hand gripped onto his jacket sleeve. I stand there for a moment, trying to get a good look at the serial number on the jacket. The Android moves closer to the door, down an aisle and I catch a closer glimpse -- RK...800? No, no, it can't be!
"Ten..." I whisper and he catches my gaze, as I point over to the Android with Connor's hair and jacket.
"It can't be.." He grabs my hand in a tight grasp, turning me around and away from the grocery outlet, making a run down the sidewalk. We turn another corner to the right and we find the Jimmy's bar sign just a block away. This time we speed walk, our fingers intertwined with one another, whether for comfort or for security.
"You think he's here?" I whisper, gazing into the window of the small and very worn-down bar.
"Like you said, it's worth a shot." He gives me a warm half-smile, shrugging his shoulders.
"I suppose," I give him the same smile before looking forward again and opening the door. We step inside one after the other, me first with him following--our hands still intertwined--as the bell rings indicating our presence. I look around the room, a lot of middle-aged men sat in the booths that line the wall, a few younger-looking blokes sat at the bar--except for one. Hank is sat in the middle of the bar, his gray hair pulled up. Since when did he pull up his hair?
"Hank!" I call to him, waving as I make my way to sit in the vacant barstool next to him. He turns to me, donning a warm smile.
"Oh! Y/N! And the Doctor! I thought you two left yesterday?" He exclaims, waving back. Ten then takes his spot next to me, his hand resting on my leg.
"We intended to, but we felt like it was too soon. I uh, wanted to check on you, Hank." I try to give a soft smile, but I end up failing, turning into a faded grin.
"Why'd you need to check on me? I'm fine!" He assures me, my gaze moving to the door behind him.
The bell on the door rings again and out of curiosity, I gaze over. My jaw drops a bit, and Ten must catch my dumbfounded expression when his head turns in the direction of the door as well.
"Is that...?" I whisper, my hand flying to hold his.
"Why is your face like that? You look like you saw a fuckin' ghost, Y/N." Hank chuckles, bringing his drink up to his lips and then downing it in one go. I cringe, the idea of drinking that grosses me the fuck out. Must hurt like hell too. I shake my head, gaze still locked on the new customer. Connor. Connor's alive? I swear he was.. That he was gone?
"Well, I think I did." I sigh, my breath shaking. Hank follows my gaze towards the door.
"Connor?" His voice wavers, mumbling nearly inaudible, but I manage to catch it, my free hand resting on his shoulder. "I.. I haven't seen him in two months."
"What?"

Title: We Have Time
Tenth Doctor X GN Reader
Additional Characters: Edgar Allen Poe? (Mentioned)
WC: 2,368
Warnings: Reader has overwhelming thoughts?, depression?, Tenth Doctor may be ooc idk, flirting?, banter, sad thoughts, thoughts of death, crying, comfort, slight angst, and fluff
The Doctor was worried. Worried about you. You were somewhere in the TARDIS, and he couldn't find you for the past two hours, seventeen minutes, and six seconds; not that he was counting or anything... For him, time wasn't an issue. But he had been wandering around the TARDIS, trying to find you. He felt as if he had checked every room. every nook and cranny. Every possible place. And yet, there was no sign of you anywhere in the TARDIS.
He almost felt like giving up, almost. But as he wandered down a corridor, and turned into the next room, he let out a breath he didn't even know that he was holding. There you were, sitting in a chair reading something. Only obvious, you were sitting in the TARDIS's library. There were multiple soft throw blankets spread on top of you, draped over your lap. You looked so tired, eyes blinking slowly. He tried to ignore the fluttering of his two hearts as he walked over to you, a small smile growing on his face.
He circled around you, stopping at the back of the plush armchair, your eyes never moving or lifting from the pages of the book in your hands. From what he could guess, the book had to be pretty entertaining for you to not even notice his approach. "What are you reading?" He finally spoke up, leaning to rest his forearms against the back of the chair, looking at the book in your hand and back to your face.
At his words, you jumped slightly, one hand coming up to your chest, breathing deeply and staring wide-eyed at him before you calmed down almost instantly. You cleared your throat, closing your book and pushing it away from you onto your lap, before speaking up, voice soft, but still full of emotion, "A book with some old poems in it." You smiled softly at him before grabbing the book and showing him the cover, making the Time Lord's eyes widen.
"Oh! The Tamerlane and Other Poems!" He looked back at you, "Did you know, Edgar Allen Poe gave me that copy when I met him?" He asked, and your jaw dropped.
"You met Edgar Allen Poe?" You asked, shocked. The Time Lord nodded, and you looked down at the book again before turning your head back to him. "What was he like?" You then asked as the Doctor pushed off of the back of the couch.
"Well, why don't you see for yourself?" He asked with his usual bright grin, walking out of the room as you scrambled to uncover yourself from the blankets.
Pushing past the doorway, you huffed, "Wait, Doctor!" He was already gone. Sighing deeply, you hurried to the control room, seeing him almost press a button. "Doctor... I think I want to stay in today..." You spoke, gaining his attention.
"Stay in? Do you not want to meet him?" He asked, a bit confused.
You leaned against the console, arms crossing, "I do, but not today... If that's alright... I mean, if you need to get out and move your feet, you can go somewhere without me."
With that, the Doctor shook his head, waving his hand in the air dismissively, "No, I don't want to go anywhere without you."
Your heart seemed to skip a beat at the Doctor's words, making the corner of your lips twitch slightly. "Are you sure?"
"Positively." He answered quickly, moving around to stand beside you, mimicking your stance. "It wouldn't be as fun if I went anywhere without my favorite human." He grinned down at you.
You met his gaze, unable to stop the smile from growing on your face as you shook your head, "I'm flattered." However, as you looked off in front of you, your smile dwindled, and the shine in your eyes dimmed.
The Doctor noticed this, this shift. He had noticed for the past couple of days how your mood would change. The Doctor wondered what was going on inside your mind, what your brain was telling you to cause you to fall into a sort of depression. He frowned, eyebrows wrinkling the middle of his forehead as he stared down at you, trying to figure out what was wrong. He knew better than to crawl into your mind and find out what, so he raked through his own mind for anything that he may have said or done in the past week, month, and year, but nothing came up. If it wasn’t him, then what was it?
Looking down, he watched as your fingers seemed to grip your upper arm from where you had them crossed against your chest, knuckles whitening under the pressure. "Is something wrong?" He finally asked, his voice low, concerned.
You shook your head slowly, looking up to meet his eyes, "Nope..." You answered quietly, you couldn't lie to him. He'd find out anyway. You quickly looked away, your throat threatening to close up as your eyes burned. Your hands clenched tighter, nails digging into your skin, as you fought the urge to cry. You couldn't tell him, you couldn't risk losing him. Not now, not ever. That just wasn't going to happen. You'd only be putting more pain on yourself.
For the past week and a half, you had been worrying about the future. You spent so many sleepless nights thinking about what would happen when you got older. Would the Doctor drop you off at home once you become a liability? You weren't like him, you were going to get older and become more weak. Soon you wouldn't be able to run as fast as you could now. You'd slow him down, and endanger him in the process. And if you die, when you die, the Doctor would end up alone. You didn't want him to be alone. After everything he went through, after everything, you never wanted him to be alone. He wasn't human, you would remind yourself often. And you were human. It broke your heart.
At your silence, the Doctor sighed, pulling you gently towards him, wrapping his arms around you, and resting his cheek on your head. You froze briefly before instantly melting into him. The Doctor pulled you closer, rubbing one of his hands up and down your back. "You don't have to, but I heard that talking about your feelings helps." He whispered, his voice barely above a whisper.
You took a deep breath, your cheek rubbing against the soft fabric of his dark brown suit. You shut your eyes, looping your arms tightly around his midsection, hearing the beating of one of his hearts. "My brain just won't shut up." You muttered, your voice thick with frustration and sadness as you buried your face in the crook of his neck. His scent, which usually made you feel calm, comforted you, and you found that it helped you relax and focus.
He hummed softly, stroking your hair as he moved to look around the TARDIS's control room in front of him, "You humans and your complicated, squishy brains..." He spoke softly, teasingly, which made him smile as he heard your small laugh.
"You shut up." You responded, muffled by his neck. He chuckled lightly, feeling your smile against the collar of his shirt. And after a moment, you finally spoke up again, "I can't stop thinking about the future..." You began, voice soft as you shifted, moving your head to rest your cheek back on his chest. The Doctor said nothing, allowing you to continue as he continued to run his fingers through your hair. "What's going to happen when I get older?" You asked, and the Doctor hummed.
"What do you mean, love?" He asked, awaiting your answer.
You let out a deep breath, albeit shaky. "I'm going to get old... Too old to travel with you anymore."
Your words sent the room into a cold silence. Everything seemed to freeze. The Doctor tensed immediately, and all color seemed to drain from his face. He opened his mouth to speak but found himself unable to utter a single sound. He couldn't help it though, every word that escaped him sounded like a death sentence. His mind raced with thoughts of you dying. Of having to watch your body grow weaker, thinner, and shorter. You were right, you would leave him. It was only a matter of time. 'Time? He had all the time in the universe with you.' The Doctor wanted to lie to himself, but he knew that it wasn't true. You were right. He'd be forced to watch your body wither away until there was nothing left of you. Though, in the back of his mind, he knew… He knew that this conversation was going to come up sooner or later. He’d admit to himself that he did think about it from time to time.
But the Doctor didn't want it to be true. He wanted- no, needed you to be wrong. For the past year that you had been traveling with him, he couldn't imagine a life without you by his side. He loved you too much to let you go, especially when you were just starting to make real progress in your travels. He couldn't lose you. He had lost so many, but he wasn’t going to lose you. "You have time..." He eventually managed to choke out, his voice hoarse and strained as he slipped to the metal ground with you in his arms. You were practically in his lap, but neither of you said a word about it as he tightened his hold around you, digging his face into your neck. You did the same, ignoring the ground that was pushing against your legs uncomfortably. "You have time..." You finally let the tears that you were holding go, sniffling as they spilled down your cheeks.
“I don’t want you to have to see me die, D,” You muttered, “It might be better for you to just drop me off at home.”
‘Home.’ The Doctor thought. No, this was your home. The TARDIS was your home. You were his home.
Both of your collective hearts were breaking, and your heart seemed to shatter as you heard the Doctor's next words;
"This is your home…" The desperation made you break even more.
"I know," You promised, tightening your own embrace.
“I’m not taking you back there,” He muttered, breathing in the scent of your shampoo. Why would he take you back? Though the thought hurt, he knew that having you there with him, for as long as you could be, was better than none at all. “I won’t take you unless you ask me to.”
"I don’t want to leave you, Doctor, ever. Ever.” You sniffled, reaching a hand up to run your fingers through his already messy hair, lightly scratching at his scalp, “Not even when you get tired or me. I’m sorry for upsetting you… I shouldn’t have said anything."
His hold on you loosened only slightly as he pulled his head from the crook of your neck. His own eyes were wet, as he wiped away some of the tears that fell onto your face. You shut your eyes, pressing your cheek into his hand as his thumb brushed the tears away. The Doctor let out a shaky breath of his own, his eyes wandering around your features as his hand ran over your cheeks, wiping any remaining traces of your tears away.
After a few moments of staring into each other's eyes, you both slowly leaned forward and pressed your foreheads together. "I'd never get tired of you." He breathed, closing his eyes to keep any tears from falling. “And don’t apologize… I- I’m glad we talked about this.”
You nodded, swallowing thickly, "I'll never get tired of you either. If that helps." You admitted, your voice quiet and gentle. He smiled a bit at the sound of your voice, your words soothing his worries. "It would be impossible." You finished, pulling back to look at him once more.
"Exactly." He smiled warmly at you, his hands cupping your cheeks. You returned his smile with one of your own. You rested your hand atop one of his, giving it a light squeeze, "I'm simply irresistible." He murmured softly, your voice laced with amusement.
"I know," You muttered softly, reaching out to brush a stray tear from his cheek in return, "That's why I travel with you." You teased, letting out an inward sigh of relief as his smile grew wider. "That and your incredible sense of humor."
The Doctor only hummed, nodding his head as he pulled you back into his chest, allowing you to shift to more comfortably sit in his lap, snuggling against him. He rested his chin on top of your head, smiling as he felt you wrap your arms around his waist. His grin slowly fell as he spoke though, "We have time..." He muttered, "We just have to make the most of it..."
You pulled back slightly, tilting your head up, meeting his gaze. "We will." You agreed, with a nod before he pressed his lips to your forehead, making your cheeks warm once more. A small pause passed between the two of you before you broke it once more, this time speaking quietly as you reached for one of his hands and threaded your fingers through his. "Do you want to stargaze with me?" You asked, looking from your intertwined hands to look up into his dark brown eyes.
His lips curled upward in response, his grip on your hand tightening as he nodded, "Yes, that sounds like a brilliant idea." He replied, his expression turning into a bright, adoring smile. “Simply brilliant, love.”
The Doctor felt both of his hearts race as you smiled back, all the while he thought about how beautiful you looked in that moment; the TARDIS lights shining down upon you. He looked into your eyes and saw all the amazing adventures that the two of you would go on together, he saw a bright future ahead of the both of you. He was right, you both had time. All the time in the world.

The Doctor's Coat
Tenth Doctor x GN!reader
Summary: In which you're not that cold, you just like wearing the Doctor's coat (ft. a bit of Martha) (Based on a request from @internet-stranger-says-hi)
Tumblr media
As always, it was supposed to be a relaxing trip. A normal weekend getaway in a fancy hotel. The Doctor felt a bit bad about all the running you had been doing, so he wanted to treat you and Martha.
But, trouble followed the Doctor, that much you knew. So, frankly, you weren’t that surprised when you ended up running around the massive building fighting off homicidal aliens. At this point, it was just another day for you. As annoying as it could be at times, you wouldn’t have it any other way.
The Doctor gripped your hand tightly in his as you ran, his fingers firmly intertwined with yours. He was very prone to grabbing your hand at the slightest suggestion of danger, but you seemed oblivious to this. Surely he must do that with everyone, right?
“I’ll hold them off!” Martha called from behind you, going down a separate hall from you and the Doctor. You knew she could more than handle herself, but you still worried. You didn’t like it much when the three of you separated. The Doctor, on the other hand, was more worried about getting you to safety. You were always his first priority.
He turned a corner sharply, almost ramming into the wall. His dirty old Converse thudded against the garishly patterned carpet as he rushed for the hotel’s kitchen. You struggled to keep up with him, desperately trying not to trip over yourself.
The Doctor led you through the winding halls at a surprising speed, the walls rushing by in a blur. You weren’t sure where you were, or where you were going. The only thing you did know was the Doctor would get you to safety. He always did.
He dashed through the closest door, casting worried glances over his shoulder. In his rush, he didn’t pay much attention to where you were going. He guided the two of you into a room without really looking inside and shut the door behind him. You were too busy catching your breath to pay much attention either.
“We should be safe in here,” he said reassuringly, peering out of the small window on the door. He still seemed entirely oblivious to your surroundings.
Your breathing started to steady and you looked around the room. A frost covered the walls and the metal racks, small crystalline structures stuck to anything they could latch onto.
“You put us in a freezer,” you pointed out, starting to feel the chill on your skin. It wasn’t unbearable, just noticeable.
The Doctor looked around, just now realizing where the two of you had ended up.
“Well…” he winced, peeking back out again. The kitchen appeared to be empty.
“We should probably be safe to make a run for it,” he suggested, pacing back and forth. “We could reconvene with Martha and get out of here?”
“Let’s,” you shivered, the cold starting to penetrate your sweater. The sooner you could get out of here the better.
The Doctor moved to open the door, but it wouldn’t budge. He yanked it repeatedly and even tried kicking it. He pulled the Sonic Screwdriver out, buzzing around the door. Slowly, he turned back to look at you with a nervous smile.
You’d seen that look many times before. You’d seen it when he left you stranded on Mars on accident, when he crashed the TARDIS into the side of your Grandparent’s house, and when he neglected to tell you he replaced the ship’s toilet with a DIY chemistry lab.
“You locked us in here,” you gasped, throwing your hands up in frustration.
“I’m sorry,” he winced. You could see on his face how much it upset him. As frustrating as the situation was, you couldn’t bring yourself to get mad at him. You never did, no matter how bad he messed things up.
“It’s ok,” you whispered, shuffling your feet. You could handle a bit of cold, it’s not like the Doctor did it on purpose anyway.
“Here,” the Doctor said, slipping his coat off, “take this, it should help keep you warm.”
“What about you?”
“I don’t get cold,” the Doctor shrugged, pushing the coat into your arms. You stared at it for a moment, surprised to even be holding it. The Doctor’s coat was one of his most prized possessions, even if something just like it could be found in just about every charity shop across London.
Slowly, you slid your arms through the coat, shrugging it on. The fabric was a well-loved cotton, softened from years of wear and wash. Strangely, it was very warm.
“Better?” The Doctor asked, worried. You wrapped the coat tightly around yourself and smiled, nodding your agreement.
This was much better, and not because you were a little cold. The coat smelled like the Doctor - exactly like the Doctor. It felt like being hugged by him, and you relished the feeling. You burrowed further into the jacket, closing your eyes blissfully. You could stay like this forever.
“Hey,” The Doctor put his hands on your shoulders, “don’t fall asleep on me,” he urged, figuring that you were much colder than you were.
“Martha should be around soon and she’ll get us out, I promise,” he reassured, rubbing his hands up and down on your arms to create friction. You peered out from under his coat to look him in the eye. His face was riddled with anxiety, his big brown puppy dog eyes staring at you with worry.
You blushed a deep red, finding his concern adorable. You really were fine, especially now that you had a coat to keep you toasty. Even if you were cold, you wouldn’t really mind it considering the circumstances. You were wrapped up in the Doctor’s coat as he rubbed your arms lovingly - it was like a dream.
The Doctor misread your blush and assumed that the cold was flushing your face. He moved his hands up to your face, cradling it. He knew his hands weren’t exactly warm, but maybe the contact could keep the cold out. His thumbs rubbed soft, concentric circles into your skin. He traced the words of a language only he knew into your skin, trying anything to comfort you.
“I’ll get you out, it will be ok,” he reassured again. He moved his hands to wrap the coat tighter around your body, pulling the collar up to shield the lower part of your face. “Hang in there for me,” he urged, eyes still pained with anxiety.
You let out a soft shiver, the constant contact making you incredibly flustered. Again, the Doctor misread your responses to his affections. His mind was running a thousand miles an hour, trying to figure out a way to warm you up. If he lost you to frostbite due to his own obliviousness he would never forgive himself.
“Shh,” he hushed, even though you hadn’t said anything. He rubbed his hands up and down your arms again, desperately trying to warm you up.
“I’m so sorry that I got you into this situation,” he sighed, still rubbing you gently.
You shook your head quickly, “s’alright.” You would never admit it to him, but you were really enjoying this. Maybe being trapped in a freezer wasn’t the worst thing in the world.
“No,” The Doctor shook his head, “it’s really no-”
Suddenly, the door to the freezer opened and Martha popped her head in. “What on Earth are you two doing in here?” She asked, her eyebrows knit together in confusion. The Doctor was known to do weird things, but this had to be high up on the list of strange hiding places.
“Martha!” The Doctor cried, overjoyed to see her. “Hurry, we need to get them out of here,” he urged, already guiding you out of the freezer. He practically pushed you out, his hands never leaving your body.
“Please check on them, they’re freezing,” he urged, guiding you to a seat. You were perfectly capable of directing yourself, but the Doctor seemed adamant on it. He was babbling incoherently, waving his hands about in distress.
“How long were you in there?” Martha asked, she had split from you less than an hour ago. Surely you couldn’t have caught frostbite in that little time. She leaned down in front of you, her fingers resting against your neck to check your pulse.
“10, maybe 15 minutes?” The Doctor started wringing his hands anxiously.
After taking your pulse she placed both hands on your face, gauging the temperature of your skin. You were chilly, but nowhere near cold enough to warrant the Doctor’s distress.
“They’re fine,” Martha shrugged.
“Are you sure? Check again,” the Doctor begged, his eyes still seeping with anxiety.
Martha sighed exasperatedly, “I’m sure.”
Behind her, you turned a deep scarlet. It was embarrassing to watch the whole interaction, but you were too flustered to admit that you really just liked wearing the Doctor’s coat. It was easier to let them argue than admit you had a crush.
“Look!” The Doctor cried, pointing at you, “They’re all flushed! Something has to be wrong.” He fiddled anxiously, bouncing slightly on his feet. Looking at him you’d think you had grown a second head or something terrifying.
Martha looked over at you, her eyebrows furrowed. You avoided her gaze, picking at your hands absentmindedly in your lap. She quickly picked up on what was happening and rolled her eyes.
“Seriously?” She whispered to you sharply. You pursed your lips, shrugging slightly in response.
“What’s going on? Is everything ok?” The Doctor asked, growing more worried by the minute.
“Please tell him, this is getting ridiculous,” Martha groaned, her eyes pleading with you. There was only so much of this she could put up with.
“Tell me what?” The Doctor was hovering now, fiddling anxiously, “is everything alright, what’s wrong?” he asked you this time, moving closer to you.
“I’m gonna give you a minute,” Martha said, her eyes darting between the two of you. You tried to open your mouth to protest but she was already slipping out the door, leaving you alone with the Doctor.
He crouched before you, his hands resting on your knees, “what’s wrong?” He asked, looking up at you. You could tell he was holding his anxiety back, trying not to let his own worries affect you.
“I’m fine,” you blushed, looking down at the floor. You really didn’t want to admit your feelings for the Doctor, especially like this. You supposed you didn’t have much else of a choice, Martha had made sure of that.
“I-I just,” you whispered, not really wanting the Doctor to hear you, “liked wearing your coat.”
“You what?” the Doctor gasped, surprised. He wasn’t entirely sure he had heard you right.
“It smells like you,” you mumbled the justification more to yourself than him.
“You’re not sick?” He asked, clearly more worried about your health than your confession.
“I’m perfectly fine,” you let out a small chuckle, “nothing to worry about here.”
“You’re not cold?”
You shook your head, you were far from cold now. In fact, the anxiety was making you sweat.
“You just liked wearing my coat?” He clarified eyebrows furrowed as his brain struggled to keep up. Could this mean you liked him? He tried not to get his hopes too high.
Embarrassed, you nodded your head meekly. God, this was awful. You wanted nothing more than the floor to open up and swallow you whole.
“Is that so?” He laughed, a cocky smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
“Oh shush,” you scolded, hitting his arm lightly. Of course, he found this amusing.
He smiled softly at you, his eyes softening as he realized you were going to be ok. Better than ok. He brought his hand up to your face, cradling your cheek in his soft hand.
“Are you trying to say you have a crush on me?” He smiled inquisitively.
Your eyes widened, your face turning the deepest red it had been since getting into the freezer. Perhaps he wasn’t as oblivious as you thought.
“Maybe,” you whispered, it’s not like you could really hide it anymore. The Doctor’s face immediately lit up, a large grin taking over his entire face.
“Don’t look at me like that,” you frowned, confused by his sudden excitement. He should be upset, kicking you out of the TARDIS, or making excuses for reasons he couldn’t love you back. Instead, he was still sitting there looking at you with that stupid grin. It was impossible to fight back the small smile tugging at your lips when he was looking at you like that.
“What if I told you I had a crush on you too?” He whispered mischievously, his eyes twinkling with excitement.
You stiffened, shocked by his admission. “If you’re having a joke I’m gonna throw you into an exploding star.”
The Doctor chuckled, the sound dancing around the room. “No, I’m not.”
“You really fancy me?”
“How could I not?” He hummed, stroking your cheek gently. You were stunning. You were always stunning to him, no matter the conditions.
The Doctor leaned closer to you, hoving slightly over your lips. His warm breath fanned your face, sending shivers down your spine. He stayed there for a moment, giving you plenty of time to pull back. When you didn’t, he brought his lips gently into yours.
He kissed you like you were his entire world, his hand still holding your face. He was soft and gentle, but incredibly loving. You melted against him, your arms wrapping around his shoulders to pull him closer to you.
Martha silently poked her head in the door to check on you, just in case. She sighed when she saw the two of you in a tight embrace, closing the door to go handle the alien invasion on her own.

You Are Not Alone
Pairings: Tenth Doctor x Gn time lord!reader
Warnings: some probably fucked up time lord lore cuz idk all of it ✌️
Summary: is he truely the last one?
Word count: 1753
The face of Boe had told him that The Doctor was not alone, that could only mean one thing right? that he was not the last of the time lords that he had thought. But the doctor seemed to be in quite a bit of denial. Martha was excited for him of course, he wasn't really alone, of course he had her but only for a short amount of time, because time lords were basically immortal. The Doctor wasn't really sure what to do, should he search for the other time lord? or perhaps he should just leave them be, let them live their life…
The Doctor took Martha back to regular earth and to London, but when they had gotten back there were some serious tremors rocking through the UK, not quite earthquakes, but shakes big enough to knock items over and frighten a few people. Martha had asked around about these tremors, and it turns out that it had been going on for a few months, making martha realize that she had been missing for quite a while, so she ran off to check with her family, leaving the doctor to his own quizzical nature.
The brown haired alien made his way through the city, pausing every time a tremor came, noticing when it got more prominent until he was standing close to the torchwood institute building… Was there something that he had missed down there? a room that could have held something else behind its closed doors? Regardless, he paced outside of the institute's doors, his lips pursed into a thin line as he tried to figure out what to do, wait for Martha or just go right in and see what was causing these tremors. He had already killed the Racnoss so what else could be here?
Suddenly he felt a tap on his shoulder, and when he turned around he saw Martha. "hey doctor- i got everything sorted out… I think… Did you find where the tremors came from?" She asked, and he nodded, turning back to the doors of the hidden torchwood center. "Yes… I mean I think so? Let's go back to the Tardis and teleport inside." He started, grabbing Martha's hand and running back to the TARDIS, pressing buttons and flicking switches before the TARDIS. However there seemed to be quite a bit of interference as during the teleport the TARDIS had shut down only momentarily, before landing outside of the building. When the Doctor poked his head outside he looked very confused. "Impossible…" He muttered, looking at Martha.
"It seems like the TARDIS is prevented from entering the building, so something inside has to be interfering with her but- that's impossible!" He explained, however Martha smiled as she stepped outside with him. "You should know by now Doctor, nothing is impossible." She winked at him before walking into the front doors of the building, which seemed to be completely abandoned now. The Doctor sighed and he followed her inside, leading her to the elevator and then down to the lower level floors.
He went around the basement, opening the door that the Racnoss had been in before, looking at the now dry equipment, nothing here… He exited the room, staying oddly silent as Martha blabbered on about what she was seeing here.. However eventually The Doctor reached a door that he must have passed last time, or perhaps a door that was there, but hidden by a veil of invisibility. Regardless he used his screwdriver and he opened the door, fog and mist rolling out from the entrance as it was opened. Martha coughed a bit, but followed the doctor inside regardless.
The walls of this room had been completely changed, it seemed, and it looked so familiar… the room seemed bigger than it was supposed to be, and as he reached the middle of the room the realization set in. "This is… Gallifrey technology? but how is it here?" he asked himself, walking up to the center console which was a lot more put together than his was, nothing was broken, just very dusty… this was a ship, exactly like the TARDIS… but a lot bigger… and it had royal or- more commonly known as founder markings across the supports of this TARDIS… But the founder couldn't have been alive…
The Doctor told Martha to stay put, but like all other companions of course he wouldn't listen, and after he was out of sight she followed him regardless, until they came into a new.. room? it seemed like one anyway… There was a capsule suspended in the center of that room, and as Martha approached she noticed the astoundment across his face. "Doctor?" She asked, and he cleared his throat.
"The face of Boe was right… i… I'm not the last…" He trailed off.
Within the capsule was a humanoid being dressed in high tier time lord regalia… and as soon as the Doctor's voice was registered, a voice sounded from the capsule. "Voice recognized as "The Doctor. commencing hologram message."
And on cue a hologram appeared in front of the doctor, it was two time lords, high tiered ones like the being in the capsule. "Whoever is hearing us, you must understand that there was a devastating war of our people, but there must be a legacy for us, to keep us pure and our memory alive. In this capsule I have suspended my child in time, I don't know if they have regenerated so we will not specify gender… but they are the last time lord, if it is safe, the release code is "The Oracle, their title and you will understand why when they are released… If there is another time lord out there, if YOU are a time lord. I beg of you, take care of our child…"
The father trailed off and the hologram faded away. The Doctor stepped forward, placing his hand on the capsule. It looked like you, The Oracle was forced inside the capsule, your hand extended forward as your face was contorted into a scream. He sighed, and took a step back. 'I can't…" He trailed off, and Martha was flabbergasted. "What? you can't just leave them- The Oracle trapped there!" she exclaimed, not realizing she had said the release code until she heard a crack come from the capsule. The Doctor and Martha turned to you, and the frozen time keeping you suspended had dissipated, and when the glass shattered you tumbled out of it, and The Doctor quickly caught you.
You were still for a moment, eyes closed and not breathing as your body regulated to the environment around you, and within his arms you started to regenerate, this is the first time that Martha actually witnessed it too, and once you had regenerated, you looked beautiful, more so than before… your eyes, nose, lips…
Your eyes opened and the first person you saw was Martha, Her kind smile relaxed you, but you were also very confused, the last thing you remember was being shoved into a capsule and being frozen in time, and now your in a completely different planet. Thanks to your TARDIS instead Of speaking in your native language you spoke in English, with a broken London accent. “Are we on Gallifrey? Is the war over?” You asked confused, looking up to see that another person, a man, was holding you. But the connection between you was instant, and you knew him as The Doctor. A special thing about you is that you were influenced by the TARDIS core, and not only could you travel into the future or past, you could look into the future with your mind, however it wasted a lot of your energy doing it, so you don't do it often… but that's why your called The Oracle.
“We… we are the last?” You then ask, finding your footing on the ground, though The Doctor's grip was still firm on your arms, like he was afraid that if he let you go now, you would disappear. “What do I look like?” You asked, looking around for a mirror, walking up to it as you assessed your clothes. You had a bit more of a masculine build, feminine was the last body you had but you quite liked this one, it seemed more.. you. You touched your face gently, before turning to the Doctor and his Companion.
“Is she..?” You asked, however the doctor just shook his head. “No, just human.” He explained, and you nodded, sucking in a deep breath.
You asked what happened, and he told you everything He knew, that the time lords were all gone, all except for him and now you, and that there were no more Daleks, all dead. A sigh of relief left your lips, but a sadness filled your hearts. “That's… saddening. Well, I suppose this earth as you call it is our new home then?” You asked with a smile, and Martha beamed at you. “Yes! Oh you could join us and travel with us!” She exclaimed.
However before you could Agree, you felt a deep pit grow in your hearts, and you fell to your knees suddenly. The Doctor grabbed you immediately, checking your body for any injuries. You looked up at him, and then towards the center console. “My TARDIS… she… she used up all of her power- To keep me safe from anyone but you it seems… and now… she's gone.” you whispered, standing up slowly, walking to the center Console, touching the surface gently. “Well… You have a TARDIS?” You asked the doctor, and he nodded. “Yes… you can absolutely join us… I'd prefer it.” He stated, and you nodded. “Alright… I don't want her to go to waste… he'll me move her, nobody else can discover her.” You stated, and with the Doctor's help, along with his TARDIS, you sent your dead ship onto a far away planet, and them Blew it up into scraps.
now you stood in the much smaller ship that belonged to The Doctor, and Martha had Helped you find some clothes that you liked quite nice, and like the doctor you found something that would help you blend into quite a few time periods. But there was still a hole in one of your hearts, one That was only filled by your ship… And your long dead family.
You were not the last, you have the Doctor now but… is it all really worth surviving?
Who knows…

TENTH DOCTOR NSFW ALPHABET
A = Aftercare (what they’re like after sex)
Ten is the cuddliest being in the entire universe after sex. Cuddles, kisses, snuggles. He’s basically a barnacle. He adores giving you cuddles just as much as he receives them. I also feel like he’d absolutely adore nuzzling his nose against your jaw and/or neck.
B = Body part (their favorite body part of theirs and also their partner’s)
His favourite body part of his own are his teeth/hands.
His favourite body part of his partner is their eyes. One of the most important things for him in a partner is their eyes. Being able to see compassion, kindness- love in someone’s eyes. There’s nothing that makes him fall in love faster.
C = Cum (anything to do with cum, basically)
Ten can cum a lot. Something to do with Time Lord genetics. When they mate, they mate to conceive (biologically speaking) so whenever Ten ejaculates, there can be a lot if he’s not had any for a while or if he’s been edging.
D = Dirty secret (pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
A dirty secret of Ten’s is how much he fantasises and thinks about rubbing his cock against your clit/dick. It’s one of his favourite things, and he thinks about it way more than he should. He has- on more than one occasion, rubbed his thumb over his sonic screwdriver and thought about putting it inside you too.
E = Experience (how experienced are they? do they know what they’re doing?)
Ten is experienced. He’s lived for 900-odd years. He hasn’t had a plethora of partners, but he’s had enough (both longer-term and one-night) but he’s experienced enough to know what he’s doing and how to get his partner exactly where he wants them.
F = Favorite position (this goes without saying)
Missionary. He’s not fancy about it, but he adores being able to look into your eyes as he brings you pleasure.
G = Goofy (are they more serious in the moment? are they humorous? etc.)
It depends on the circumstance. Generally speaking, he’s more romantic than goofy, but he also believes that if you can’t laugh with your partner during sex- they’re not the one for you.
H = Hair (how well groomed are they? does the carpet match the drapes? etc.)
He’s not shaved, but he’s not unruly either. He’s neat. Trimmed.
I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect)
Ten’s all about the intimacy. He’s all about soft loving looks, hand-holding, and adoring caresses. He’s so romantic (most of the time) that it’s almost sickening. Even when he’s rough, he’s still romantic. Check-ins, kisses, reassuring touches and smooches.
J = Jack off (masturbation headcanon)
Ten tries not to jack off too much since he has you, but he’s not opposed to jacking off in the shower if you’re not in the mood. He also has a bit of a thing for you watching him jack off. There’s just something about it that gets him hot and bothered.
K = Kink (one or more of their kinks)
Hair-pulling. The man is OBSESSED with having his hair pulled. He’s pretty sure he could cum untouched from that.
L = Location (favorite places to do the do)
TARDIS console room or his bedroom are his two favourite places to do it, but he’s not picky.
M = Motivation (what turns them on, gets them going)
Teasing touches and sultry looks will get Ten going faster than anything. A brush over his shoulders, a light pat on his bum. If he’s feeling dominant, teasing him will definitely get him going. Behaving bratty and ignorant of how your words, looks and touches impact him will definitely have him all over you as soon as possible.
N = No (something they wouldn’t do, turn offs)
Knife or gun-play. It’s not for him.
O = Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.)
He prefers to give, but he enjoys receiving, too. Mostly when he’s feeling submissive.
P = Pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual? etc.)
Again, depends on the circumstances. If he’s feeling submissive and is receiving, he wants it loving but fast. He wants toys or cocks jackhammering into his ass. If he’s feeling dominant, he likes to make it slower and more sensual in order to tease you.
Q = Quickie (their opinions on quickies, how often, etc.)
Ten isn’t huge on quickies. He enjoys them, but he’d much rather be able to take his time and really enjoy the moment with you.
R = Risk (are they game to experiment? do they take risks? etc.)
Ten is open to experimentation, but at 900 years old, there’s not much he hasn’t done that isn’t a huge no-no for him.
S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?)
Ten can last about five to seven rounds before he starts to tire. That Time Lord biology does not quit.
T = Toys (do they own toys? do they use them? on a partner or themselves?)
Ten likes toys. He likes to use them on his partners more than receive, but having you fuck his cock with a fleshlight? Well, lets say that did something to him that he was not expecting.
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)
When he’s dominant, he’s very unfair. Or he can be. It depends on how naughty you’ve been. When he’s submissive, he’s only teasing when he wants to be punished.
V = Volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.)
Ten isn’t super loud, but he’s not opposed to making some noise, either. He’s louder when he’s being edged, for sure.
W = Wild card (a random headcanon for the character)
Ten loves to have you ride him. He adores watching you on top of him and taking charge.
X = X-ray (let’s see what’s going on under those clothes)
He’s not super thick, but he is quite a bit longer than the average human.
Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)
Ten’s sex drive is moderate. He’s not jonesing for it all the time, but he likes a good fuck at least two or three times a week. More if he’s really in the mood.
Z = Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)
Ten doesn’t really fall asleep very quickly after sex unless he’s gone about eight rounds. That will tire him out like nothing else. Because he doesn’t fall asleep quickly, he likes to brush your hair and lull you to sleep on his chest for a while.

Don't Blink
Tumblr media
Tenth Doctor x GN!Reader
Summary: Going home was meant to be a vacation from all the aliens and monsters.
Part 2: Don't Turn Your Back Part 3: Don't Look Away Part 4: Dreams See Us Through
Requests: Open!
Tag List: @nyxiethesimp
Warnings: Weeping Angels, babes.
You hadn't slept in days.
It started innocuous enough -- some nerves as you crawled into your bed, for once. You'd assumed it was because you were so used to the TARDIS that home didn't feel as much like home anymore. You thought that maybe, after a day or two, it'd get better.
It got worse.
Waking up the next morning, you were confronted with the feeling of being watched. No matter where you went -- your mum's, the shops, the cellar, even the restroom. Everywhere. All day. By the time you dropped into your bed that night, you were exhausted from being on high alert the whole day.
You didn't sleep well that night.
Nightmares plagued you -- they were nebulous, slipping just out of focus every time you thought you could make out even just a single detail. But despite that -- or maybe because of it -- you were terrified.
You awoke drenched in a cold sweat, covered in goosebumps and with a stomach churning with unease. You felt feverish, but when you took your temperature the thermometer flashed with a perfectly normal number.
Going about your day felt like a monumental task. While your limbs felt weighed down with lead, the rest of you felt light, jittery... panicky. Any attempts to focus for more than thirty seconds at a time failed miserably.
Maybe it was just your heightened state, but you could've sworn that everyone could see that you were starting to lose it.
That was the first night you didn't sleep.
The second night, you finally caught sight of the predator in the underbrush -- the thing that had been stalking you since you arrived back home. Only for a brief, blink-and-you-miss-it moment, but it was still long enough for you to know that it was the cause of your sleepless nights and worsening mental state.
You weren't sure how a perfectly ordinary angel statue could cause so much distress.
The third night, you noticed the statue had moved -- just a couple inches -- but it was enough for you to see the difference. Finally, you called the Doctor. Not five minutes later, you heard the TARDIS materialize outside.
You turned away for all of one second, but when you looked back, the angel had gone.
Well, "gone" was relative. It was out of line of sight, you could say that much for sure. But you knew it was still lurking nearby -- you could still feel it watching you.
The Doctor didn't bother announcing himself as he barged into your flat -- the TARDIS brakes were announcement enough. The sonic screwdriver was held aloft, its light moving in erratic circles in the darkened flat as the Doctor gradually made his way to you.
"Where is it?" he asked once he finally reached you. "Did you blink -- did it move!?"
You weren't sure how to answer. He had told you not to take your eyes off it, you recalled that now that he was here, yelling at you about it -- but you didn't even remember looking away just moments ago you were so exhausted.
In the back of your mind some little part of the normal you knew that the Doctor was just worried, but that little piece was dwindling with every moment you continued to lose sleep.
You'd moved right past delirium at this point -- and, hell, you weren't even sure how much of this was real. What if you were hallucinating? Angel statues that could only move if they weren't being looked at? That was a little crazy, even for the Doctor.
He turned to look at you when you remained silent, and when his eyes met yours they melted into pure, unadulterated concern and some dam inside you broke.
Sobs wracked your body and you collapsed. The only reason you didn't hit the ground was the Doctor surging forward, arms wrapping around you and holding you steady.
"Oh, dear," he cooed, holding you close. You buried your head into his chest, your cries still rocking through you, though the Doctor's arms kept you pretty snugly in place, and his clothes did an excellent job of muffling your blubbering.
You could feel one of his hands running comfortingly through your hair, while the other rubbed soothing circles into your back.
Miraculously, you calmed. For the first time in days, you felt like you could relax. Breathe. Hell, maybe even sleep.
It was with that thought that you felt yourself being effortlessly lifted. The Doctor carried you, bridal style, back to the TARDIS, through the doors and the console room and the halls, until he reached your bedroom and settled you carefully onto the bed.
"What about the angel?"
"You're completely safe in the TARDIS. I promise."
You knew that he knew that you had meant something different, but you were too tired to argue. Now that you were safe, sleep was coming to claim you rather quickly.
Once you fell asleep, you were haunted by nightmares again, but you were just so glad to be getting any sleep at all that you didn't care.
You found the Doctor in the console room the next morning, looking over something on one of the monitors. Without even so much as sparing you a glance, he dived right into it.
"That's no ordinary Weeping Angel."
"What do you mean?" you asked with a yawn and a bleary blink in his direction.
"See, normally a Weeping Angel wouldn't waste any time -- you blink, you're dead. Well. Teleported to another time so that they can feed off the energy that the displacement causes. But this... this is..."
"It's torturing me."
It wasn't a question -- how could it have been? You and the Doctor both could see what it was doing to you.
"Yes," he confirmed sadly.
"Reminds me of something," you said with a shrug.
"Oh?"
"Oh, do I get to be the brainiac for once?" you teased with a smirk, leaning back against the console beside him.
"I guess we'll find out," he teased back, mirroring your expression and bumping your shoulder lightly with his own.
You blushed, suddenly self-conscious, but you forged ahead anyway. "So, usually when a predator becomes a maneater it's because it's sick or injured and almost always starving, and humans are really easy prey compared to deer and antelope and stuff."
He was watching you with such rapt, adoring attention. You could barely stand it.
"But," you continued, "sometimes there are outliers. Predators that kill humans for unknown reasons, reasons that don't align with what we know about typical maneaters. The maneaters of Tsavo -- they were these two perfectly healthy, normal lions by all appearances, that killed anywhere from -- realistically speaking -- twenty-eight to thirty-two people, but reportedly they killed over a hundred. And no one really knows why they did it. There are theories, of course, but because they were healthy, and it happened over a century ago, there's no way to really confirm one way or another why they killed all those people."
You paused, thinking.
"Well, no way for the average person."
The Doctor beamed at you. "Oh, you are clever, aren't you?"
"I try."
"So you think maybe this Angel is an outlier?"
"Yeah, it's possible."
"No indicators of illness or injury, no signs of weakness or starvation. Just..."
"Sadistic tendencies?"
"But why?" he asked no one in particular, leaning back to stare at the monitor again.
"And..." you started thoughtfully. The Doctor turned to look at you again. "Why me?"
"Why you?" he repeated cluelessly.
"I wasn't here when it arrived, and it couldn't have known I was gonna be coming back anytime soon. It's possible it's been waiting for days, weeks for me to come back -- and it could've been waiting even longer if I hadn't decided I needed a break. That's a lot of waiting for a random person you don't know is coming back."
Realization dawned on the Doctor's face. "It's targeted."
"But why?"
"Why indeed?" he asked in that tone that was meant to sound casual but only served to let you know that he was deeply worried. "Let's find out, shall we?"
