Tim has no idea whether to laugh or cry. Bruce sends him away from Gotham to stay safe from Red Hood, yet who is standing there, in the Titan Tower, but the man himself. And if he was attacking or something then fine, he could deal with it. But no, the man is standing there, in the kitchen, cooking like it’s an everyday thing. Like sure he’s cooking angrily and Tim swears he can see some sort of eye glow in the helmet, but it’s not like he’s actually threatening any of them?? The literal crime lord has been hissing about them not having any food and being out of medical supplies and who decided to leave a bunch of teens alone to take care of themselves. Which. Rude, he’s been taking care of himself for years, and both Raven and Beast Boy have too! What type of scheme is this?!

Jason was going to go through with his attack on the Tower, he really was. But seriously, they didn’t even have any medical supplies, their cupboards were practically empty of food, and they didn’t even have any cleaning supplies. For fuck’s sake he’d gotten in so easily and it was a giant tower shaped like a T- everyone knew where it was! Honestly it’s not his fault the pit rage went from being pissed to the literal child- which uh, huh he’ll have to freak out about that later- to raging about how he took better care of the alley kids than the heroes were taking care of their kids so guess whose going to have to fucking step up!

y'all are not heartless, y'all are envious, so envious that you feel happy when a billionaire dies because you know you won't ever get to have that money in your lifetime, you might say "poor but alive" but truth is, you don't know how much time you have left

it’s kind of interesting to me how wealth defenders assume that the reason the mass public dont like billionaires is because we are jealous of them - like we are only a couple of right decisions away from becoming billionaires ourselves but are too dumb or lazy to take the opportunity

but these same people also studiously ignore the social constructs that prevent you and me from accumulating anything close to that amount of money in our lifetime. these people are called the 1% for a reason - they do not want to distribute their wealth and use inequalities like racism, sexism, homophobia etc and all the like to put a ceiling over our heads while they sit above us. And no amount of hard work and intelligence gets you through that ceiling because that’s the way it’s built. plus that’s not even getting into topics like nepotism and how so many “self-made” billionaires come from a long line of wealth and have had more than a head start and loopholes to the top than anyone else in the general public

there is no such thing as a good billionaire. there is no way to accumulate that amount of money without stepping on the backs of other people. and to have such a hoard of wealth that is so beyond your means that you couldn’t spend it three lifetimes over but choosing to keep it to yourself anyway is a vile human being. i’m not jealous of the billionaires and want their money - i want to not live in a system anymore that sucks away all of the opportunities and resources away from the communities and funnel it to several people who use it to buy shit like…..idk… a ticket on a sardine can to the bottom of the ocean

anime only dialogue in the new trailer said by eren: “Armin. It’s just as you said… I’m a slave to freedom.”

was for me really redundant and corny to hear NOT because eren is in any way wrong but because. yeah, obviously. the rumbling/founding titan is (1) blind (2) a skeleton resembling a puppet on strings, and (3) eren’s appearance in paths looks exactly like ymir (who has been enslaved for 2000 years at this point).

im not sure if isayama plays as big a part as the “ghost director” like he did in the early seasons, but i do know mappa has done an amazing job taking everything from the manga and putting it in this medium, including the symbolism.

(just minus a bit the “freedom” panel, but there’s a difference between flubbing up a visual message versus dialogue)

in my opinion that line was added because of the horrendous media literacy in this fandom and i am not exaggerating. you know how many fans believe that eren is not only doing a good thing but the RIGHT thing by committing genocide? that he’s “based” and a BADASS for it (and floch for that matter)? those same people think that eren fully feels he’s in the right for doing it and never had any second thoughts about it. in general that the rumbling is justified in any way.

not just eren but how many fans still hate gabi only on the basis that she killed sasha without ANY consideration towards gabi’s pov, or her close resemblance to eren’s character. that erwin would’ve chosen to done the rumbling, that levi is heartless and feels nothing, hange volunteered to sacrifice themself in order to commit suicide, and so on and so on

i rly do think mappa added that line or maybe isayama even suggested it because a lot of fans really don’t understand the story or what it’s trying to convey. i hope i don’t come off elitist for thinking that. idk if you’ve been in the aot fandom for any length of time it’s extremely hard to miss these really false notions about the story from fans who just really really are wrong about a lot of things

Genuinely curious, would the topic of marriage ever have come up with Luz being the heir and princess? Especially before Belos told her his true intentions and the I-am-human-and-we-are-superior bit. Now that he’s dead, is anyone asking, or interested? Luz would just be ????????

i hadn't thought a lot about it!

i definitely don't think luz was raised with any of the pressure to marry that you sometimes get in royalty AUs -- the isles are an isolated kingdom & royal marriage tends to be about forming political alliances. and belos would never have put any marriage expectations on her in a world full of witches, even before explaining he's human.

luz might have thought about or fantasized about a storybook-type romance or marriage when she was growing up, but she has like. NO framework for what an actual marriage would look like. she grew up around belos and the coven heads and the scouts. idyllic marriage is like a strange cultural rite from a far-off land

i DO know, at least, that it's canon to the AU that odalia Desperately wants amity to romance luz. and is like. horrifyingly pushy about it. and that that feeds into amity's whole "i don't want to be luz's plaything even if she is so so so pretty" thing.

it's also canon to the AU that part of why amity doesn't want to be romanced by luz is because she doesn't want to be viewed as a social climber whose status only comes through a royal's favor instead of hard work.

as for whether anyone else is asking around, i think there might be a lot of people who in Theory would want to romance luz, but in practice find it pretty infeasible. my first thought was luz getting asked out by more than one petitioner & having the awkward haha ummmm that's... haha... umm.... response of a retail worker who just got asked out on the clock. while hunter is like hey. luz. do you want me to kill this guy for you or-

How would you portray in a modern au Eren and Mikasa’s relationship in season 4? By that I mean him distancing himself from his friends, doing a lot of questionable things. Specifically, what would you do with the table scene?

This is a tough one because what's Eren's motivation in a modern au to withdraw from his friends? In canon it's because he can't give up on his goal of destroying all titans, even though the means to that end and what that ends looks like have become perverted. In a modern au, what does he have to destroy himself and his relationships for? I can't think of something that makes sense. I know most people just make him inherently a bad boy but I think that left to his own devices he's not actually that much of a rebel. I think he wants to rise to the top within the system. Armin and Mikasa are far more inclined towards breaking the rules. So, then, what's his motivation?

I guess we'll say he's vowed to take down capitalism. Why not? And he's going to carry out his plan with a series of strategic violent attacks.

Okay! So now that that's decided, Eremika are 19 so let's say they just started college last year. Eren "What am I to you"s Mikasa at a kegger as he's mulling over whether to drop out of school and get into domestic terrorism and she answers as we know she will. Eren subsequently leaves school, changes his phone number, and joins a gang of extremists.

Armin and Mikasa don't see him again until they come back for their holiday break. They get roped into going to a Christmas party and it turns out Eren is there. Naturally, Mikasa can't help but try to encourage him to go back to school and stop icing everyone out.

At this point, he's just in town to make his final arrangements before he and his group goes and carries out his plan to take out every billionaire on the Forbes Top 100 list. He knows that once he's succeeded the feds are going to look into him and everyone he was close to and he does not want Armin or Mikasa to get dragged into that shit, so he pushes them away.

They're at the buffet table while the other guests mill around and talk. Mikasa makes her plea to him to come back, and he lays into her. "You're so annoying, Mikasa. This is why I've always hated being around you. You've always been a loser with no friends and I was the first kid who was nice to you and that's why you're so obsessed with me, but you're so weird and awkward that you can't even tell how much I hate you. I've always hated you. You fucking loser freak."

Mikasa starts to cry, Armin does his thing. I don't think they actually punch each other because they're surrounded by other people, but Armin is tearing Eren apart emotionally while Mikasa is trying to get him to leave and making these threadbare excuses for Eren to defend him, and hating herself for doing it even though she can't really stop.

So, I guess I'd do something like that. Idk. Thanks for the ask!
