Post-reveal (or not) where Merlin get cursed and de-aged to a baby for 2 weeks.

The knights, Gaius and Arthur are like ‘this is fine! It won’t last!’ Until baby!Merlin starts to make the knives float and plays with them.

They call for Hunith but she is just desensitized to the whole thing. Her baby is playing with knives ? It’s very good ! At least he isn’t blowing up the ro— Oh, well at least he didn’t blow up the WHOLE roof.

In a not post reveal situation, Arthur’s sanity is hanging on by a single tread and when Merlin comes back to normal he will basically say ‘Shut up, I’m going to sleep for 3 days’

the way leon was the only knight to be in all five seasons and was the closest to arthur before lancelot and gwaine came along yet we hardly know anything about him other than the fact he grew up with arthur, gwen and elyan and is also loyal asf we so deserved to know more about him and his character. we should've seen him as just being himself and the servant of two masters ep gave us a small glimpse of that.

same with percival. there's so much to unpack with him. his friendship with lancelot (and the fact they like never interacted again after his introduction) but also his grief and rage at what morgana did to him and his family. we saw glimpses of it, but it was only in the finale where he went with gwaine to seek revenge that we saw even part of that grief and rage.

leon is so much more than his loyalty to the crown and percival is so much more than a himbo !!

I love that one scene in the cup of life episode where Arthur and Gwaine are peacocking about who’s the better fighter and Merlin is just like: “shut up, you’re both pretty. But hey, maybe don’t try and impress slavers, dumbasses! Let’s go.”

And it fucking works?!

Merlin was absolutely in charge of all the knights lives 100% of the time, even if he let them think otherwise for their pride occasionally.

Arthur isn’t sure what’s going on but something is. On Monday, Gwaine is ill, which isn’t unusual because he’s usually hungover. The oddity is Gwaine isn’t in his room or the tavern nursing his hangover in one way or another.

On Tuesday, Leon can’t train due to a sprained ankle. He’s back to training the next day. The next day, Elyan’s sidelined by stomach trouble. Thursday Percival is absent. Friday it’s Lancelot.

Arthur sneaks away from practice on Friday to figure out what’s going on. He follows the sound of voices to the armory.

“Widen your legs,” Lancelot instructs.

“I am,” Merlin whines.

“It’s about balance.”

“This is torture. Just get it over with.”

There’s some grunts and pained sounds. Arthur isn’t sure what’s happening but he doesn’t like it. He shoves the armory door open.

Merlin, dressed in armor that Arthur’s outgrow, is sparring with Lancelot. They both have maces though Merlin’s hangs limply at his side while he rubs a sore spot on his shoulder where Lancelot just hit him. Both men turn quickly when Arthur enters.

“What are you two doing?”

“Sparring,” Merlin answers as though it’s the most obvious thing in the world.

Which it is, when looking at the scene.

“Why?”

Merlin huffs. “It was meant to be a surprise.”

And three weeks later when Merlin manages to disarm a bandit and wield his sword, Arthur is quite surprised.

I see a "lot" of fanfic with Merlin looking older but when Arthur (& the Knights) come back Merlin makes himself look young again but

I think it would be hilarious if he keeps his old appearance just to fuck with them.

Merlin that makes the Arthur scrubs the floor because "My back is killing me Arthur, what? I could use magic? You wouldn't make a OLD MAN spend energy like that!!"

Merlin that walk slowly and everyone has to wait for him expecially when Arthur is being a prat

Also just the fun of Arthur and the Knights looking like grand kids hanging out with their grandpa and everyone judging them if they let Merlin carry something "heavy"

Anyways I don't think that Merlin would get back to looking like a ~22-28 yo if he makes himself look younger. I think he would go for ~40
