I’m honestly so so happy and giddy that Azul struggles with cooking.

I’ve waited 3 years for Azul to get a MC card because Twst was never clear about Azul’s culinary skill and experience. On one hand, Azul has grown up in his mom’s restaurant, and from there, he’s tasted all kinds of dishes that his taste buds have become keen. He can identify the ingredients that went into a dish (a mad skill that experienced chefs may develop). It was not impossible that Azul would have gotten the cooking know-how too. On the other hand, Lab Jamil vignette showed Jamil teaching Azul about emulsification, which is a fundamental skill in cooking. Azul claimed that he doesn’t work with a lot of oil products, but it still mystified me because if he wanted to eat healthier, he’d have touched upon salads and their dressings, which are created through the process of emulsification. So it was not clear what Azul’s skill level in cooking was LOL especially when Azul learned a Lot from his mom.

So finally getting that confirmation that AZUL CAN’T COOK AND STRUGGLED WITH CUTTING AN ONION CAUSE IT JUST ROLLED AWAY IN HIS STORY is sooooo so so good and I love him I want him I am sooo in love with him

But also???? Can I commend him for actually trying to learn how to cook? 😭😭😭 He’s trying to see how a restaurant runs from the chef’s perspective. Even the ghost chef commended him for that. Like, how many restaurant owners out there are too stubborn to learn to cook and then would talk shit about their chefs without bothering to sit down and learn how hard cooking can be? I know Hell’s Kitchen showed episodes like that. It just makes you admire Azul’s efforts to not only improve himself but also improve the things he’s worked for because there’s always room for improvement. He could have been satisfied being in his office and whatnot, but no, he’s putting in the effort to learn cooking. Granted, it’s so that Floyd can stop making fun of him for being all talk when he can’t fucking cook hahahahahaha but STILL. STILLL.

I'm watching The Magnus Archives for the first time (i think im going to start tagging posts relevant to this with "tma liveblog" so I don't have to keep specifying). I just started season 2, and I've got to say I'm with Jon's paranoia on this one. Martin IS more competent than he's letting on. His soft, sweet, british voice is just so disarming that even hearing him talk about surviving the worm siege, I stilll mentally categorized him as "likely to die first". Sure he survived, but thats because Prentis let him go. If he actually got wormed, he'd probably just perish. Turns out, his initial idea for what would happen if he got wormed was performing emergency worm removal surgery on himself with a pocket knife. He sounded serious too, like he was mentally prepared to go through with it without hesitation if that's what it took. And if we look at what each of the characters did during the worm invasion,

Jon made no judgement calls that significantly impacted group survival one way or the other (+0) and got very wormed at the end (-1) for a grand total of -1 survival points.

Tim didn't notice that Prentis was in the archive and nearly got got (-1), sent Sasha ahead to get help, which resulted in the fire suppression system going off and saving himself and Jon from certain death (+2), got surrounded by worms in Jon's office (-1), and got very wormed at the end (-1), for a grand total of -1 survival points.

Sasha saved Tim from Prentis (+1), successfully got help, saving Tim and Jon from certain death (+2) and died (-1). For a total of 2 survival points.

Martin directed an injured Jon and Sasha to a safe place to hide from the worms and provided an effective tool for worm removal (+2), hid the stash of fire extinguishers that saved Tim from certain death (+1), and kept himself out of mortal peril for the entire duration of the invasion (+1). 4 survival points. He didn't even get injured. He's the only one who survived without intervention by forces beyond his control. Martin didn't play the part of first to die. No, this man was born for the roll of Final Girl.

And I don't think he's evil, and I don't think he killed Gertrude. But I do think that he's entirely capable of murder, if that's what it takes to survive. And I do think he will continue to exert his agency in the story in ways that the other characters and audience forget to expect from him. Not me, though. I learned my lesson. As entirely disarming as his demeanor is, I'm not going to underestimate him a second time.

I don’t know why, but I badly want to see Ben’s dads chase after kiven after learning he is the reason Ben is engaged to looma.

I know they won’t hurt him because he is Ben’s best friend, but the idea of them not caring and wanting to whoop his ass for it is stilll funny to me. (Because I would whoop his ass if I was in Ben’s place)

Well, if your son's best friend made him engaged to this warrior princess, who your child isn't attracted to and it was because of said friend refused to return to Gar's tech like a normal person.

So, yeah.

I can definitely see Ben's dads not being happy with Kevin for getting Ben engaged to Looma without their knowledge or consent. Of course, a lot of them are angry at Kevin for his stunt. Kevin pretty much went into hiding after that and had to change his identity for two months before things calmed down a little.

ok so i promised an update so here’s part of an update of something pretty crazy that’s happened to me

back in mid february, i was chilling in my favorite elective class when my friend, lets call him ryan, asked if i heard anything interesting happening in school.

i told him nah not really. it’s mainly stuff personal to me. so he then asked if i like somebody. i was like YEAH. obviously he asked who it was so I told him to guess and that it was one of his friends. He couldn’t guess who so I just told him the name.

there was this girl in our table so overheard and wanted to know, i’ll call her jane. i only knew jane for over a month or so but we had a lot of mutual friends and her boyfriend is good friends with my crush. plus she just seemed SO sweet and trusting at the time so i just told her. she just seemed so giddy and happy for me after i did so. this is a very important detail. SHE KNEW.

so then my friend, ryan, offered to be my wingman and despite him being a fucking goof a majority of the time, i knew i could trust him cause this involves one of his closest friends and ryan has NEVER done me dirty b4. a week or so later, he told me his plan to help me out. the plan was asking my crush who he was gonna ask to prom and basically listing a bunch of people he could take so ryan could subtly include my name and see how this guy felt about me. to be honest this was a great fucking plan. almost everybody i told this story to said it was a good ass plan.

so on that friday (the day before spring break btw), i saw ryan after lunch right before our class and asked if he did it. he said yes. i asked if it went well. he shook his head no in pity… my stomach fucking DROPPED. i spent nearly the entirety of that same elective class i mentioned earlier just sitting there all gloomy and shit. even my absolute sweetheart of a teacher asked if i was ok.

ryan wanted to tell me what exactly happened so fucking bad and kept insisting but i was like NAHHH that’s gonna break me for sure. that same jane girl i mentioned earlier said she was there when it happened. so i asked her if it was as bad as my friend described it. she instantly nodded which made me feel so much worse.

so that class ended meaning spring break officially started. i was just fucking ruminating on my walk home wondering what the fuck happened. a few days into break, my curiosity was eating at me so i called ryan and asked him to explain EVERYTHING that happened on friday.

so what happened was ryan went over to where my crush was sitting during lunch and started asking him about prom dates. the plan was instantly shut down when my crush essentially said “ehh i don’t know jane told me that [my name] likes me.” he then added that he thought i looked like a guy(ahhh closeted trans guy tings😜😜) so basically he wasn’t interested. you see i wasn’t upset abt what he said about me. i know the way i dress and the way i present myself and im proud of it even if i am doing an awful job at being closeted.

now what i was upset abt was that mf jane girl deciding to TELL HIM I LIKED HIM some fucking reason??? she had no real fucking reason to do that shit. the whole point was to be subtle about it and see what he thought of me. if he was interested, then sick i’ll make some moves. if he wasn’t, then cool ima move on in silence; no harm done. but this girl HADDD to throw a fucking wrench in our plans. i was able to move on from my feelings for him easily after that but STILLL. it feels so weird now knowing that he knows i liked him. ideally i still would’ve been cool with him if he didn’t like me back because HE WAS NEVER SUPPOSED TO KNOW. ughhhhhhh now i know to never trust that mf jane againnnn.

Big/Little Spoon:

Idk both give me little spoon vibes if they're together. So they switch with being the big/little spoon.

Lends/Borrows Clothes:

As teens they are around the same height, so they'd be able to borrow or lend clothes equally. Once they're older (IF KT would be alive) Gabriel would tend to borrow clothes since he's shorter.

P.S. I made him shorter as an adult since he was in a dark and unfriendly place during the time he would have had a proper growth spurt.

(Also a correction: canon adult!Gilbert is 178cm, back when I wrote this chart the updates from Hetalia-Collezione didn't exist yet)

Pet Names:

There's no way Gilbert wouldn't call Gabriel a pet name. In fact he'd more likely call him a pet name instead of his actual name.

Suggestions made by my friend (a Prussia kinnie who I created my version of TeuTemp with; so yeah if I need info about Gilbert I just ask them):

-Goldie (bc of his golden-blonde hair and him being a golden child)

-Ghosty (after his death, Gabriel HATES that name and definitely hit him softly on the head for that one)

Actually I headcanon it like this:

Gabriel - extraverted introvert

Gilbert - introverted extrovert

Affection through words/actions:

Gabriel is 100% a man of words and songs (yet has difficulties to explain his feelings due to his upringing) and Gilbert isn't. Gilbert is a man of actions. He would brag about YOU surely missing HIM while actually he wants to say that HE misses YOU but god forbid if he said that this directly, ts ts... So yeah, Gilbert is more of an actions guy.

Confession:

Honestly, it depends on whether they already understand their feelings or not. I think it is complicated for them, since they are experiencing their first ever love in an environment that is horrible for gaining such experiences in a time where they would be judged heavily. Gilbert might say that he likes Gabriel at first but without knowing the full context of his "liking" while Gabriel would only tell him once he's sure he loves him but even if he properly confessed first (which is more likely) he'd be a bit more mysterious about it. Aka "Music transcends language and speaks to the heart. If you would like to, we can sing together."

You can't tell me that wasn't KT being hesitant about slowly telling him how he feels. The subtext with his face in that panel tells everything.

Bugs:

Yeah, I think the chart says enough.

Car:

Gabriel, my dude, doesn't even understand what a car is. And even if he knew, he wouldn't want to learn how to drive. He is a passenger princess.

But tbh I think Gilbert prefers being driven around too so if they need to go anywhere, Ludwig drives them. (Also, he might know how to drive but it's honestly a risk even as a "former" personification, since it's apparently common for albinos like him to have struggles with their sight.)

Cooking:

Gabriel grew up with quite a healthy diet, so he would maintain that and cook a lot BUT Gilbert has to introduce him to MORE spices. (I read sth about the Templars' diet but I am not sure how believable my source is)

PDA:

It is self explanatory that Gabriel wouldn't like public displays of affection since it is sth that unalived him once. If Gilbert would ever drag him to a pride parade in modern times, my poor child would still suffer from so much anxiety at the first time because he still feels watched and scared around others.

Protectiveness:

I would say both are very protective towards one another (in a stilll acceptable, healthy way. It isn't a possessive/controlling protectiveness but more like a protectiveness filled by worries due to their dangerous past but they're working on it)

But after Gabriel "d!ed" and if he ever met Gilbert again in modern times you cannot tell me that Gilbert wouldn't be the clingiest and most protective fuck ever and never wants to leave his side again in fear, someone takes his Gabriel away once again.

Meanwhile Gabriel will share a glare of death if he hears that someone tried to hurt/bully Gilbert. His OG reason for living was to protect pilgrims so I'm pretty sure he has a huge protection instinct for his loved ones.

Relationship experience:

They are each other's first love. They have none. But Gabriel is more socially skilled than Gilbert, so he isn't as inexperienced as Gilbert. (Also, he is Francis' cousin. I bet he taught him basic relationship 101.)

Cuddle Level:

They are both cuddly dorks <3 But Gilbert is clingier.

Awkwardness Level:

Both are fucking awkward when it comes to love but Gilbert is less awkward because he either doesn't UNDERSTAND what was going on in one situation or he simply ACTS like he isn't awkward at all (he is. He would even pray and cry around in shame when he touched Hungary before he knew she was a girl)

Meanwhile Gabriel is an overthinker and shows his awkwardness even more visibly than Gilbert. Also he is more aware of the atmosphere around him compared to Gilbert who is a stupid fuck sometimes. (Sorry, sometimes I still have to bully him)

Jealousy Level:

Okay, when I tried making up Gabriel's personality, I tought of flaws and I wanted to make jealousy his main flaw - ironically for him being considered a golden child that has everything but at the same time nothing- but somehow, in the making of the whole TeuTemp dynamic with my friend, Gilbert ended up being the more jealous one, especially in post-KT-"death" AUs.

Probably, because he is also the clingier one.

I was going through the ex jw tag and some of the things I heard about just had me going ???? because they were just so wrong? There'd be a thousand year period after armageddon specifically made so people who weren't believers but decent nontheless could have a chance to learn the "Truth"? Talking animals were featured in the bible (Numbers chap 22) and were definitely not satanic??? Like obviously people forget details and every religion is filled w assholes who don't give a damn what the actual scripture says but it caught me off guard. Idk maybe I'm stilll too close to all of it. (Obviously this is not to lessen or belittle the damage this religion has done. It's heartbreaking that faith has been so misconstrued and wielded as a weapon, especially against children.)

MORE RANDOM/USELESS MUSE FACT

Did they believe in Santa?: Some version of him, probably. Andy's parents were somewhat transparent with their kid and likely outright told him that Jolly Old Saint Nick was a type of elf. What type? He doesn't remember now. But the "man" was a long-lived elf that liked doing good things for little kids. Never explained how he knew where they lived and all that but by the time he was a teenager, he learned that literally anyone could be Santa and the "Santa" that he interacted with as a kid was just… his Santa and that's all that really mattered to him

Were they a dinosaur or rock kid?: Rock kid. He had some pretty cool rocks in his neighborhood and around the apartment complex where he lived. he even collected them and that collection of especially interesting rocks ( i.e: the ones that have magical properties ) is sitting on a shelf in the living room of his current apartment.

Bugs or slimy critters?: Bugs. Andy hated slimy things and stilll kinda does.

Do they fidget? How?: As a kid, yes. but he doesn't as an adult. He deals with a lot of… unsavory characters much too often and things like that can betray the front he puts on for them. he tries to keep his composure at work no matter what and only turns off the act once he's in the comfort of his own home.

What were they frequently in trouble for as a child?: Yes and no. No because while Andy wasn't a bad kid, he did know how to get other kids in trouble without he himself getting in said trouble. He was the type of kid that would say things to pit others in his class against each other here and there if only because he didn't like the two sides in question. Most times, it was two kids who didn't like each other so the two were more than happy to go at each other.

Every now and then, however, one side ( or both ) told teachers, guardians, whatever parent was around and that's when Andy tended to get in trounle. Big trouble. He stopped after a little while but it's something of a funny story for him to tell others now.

What underwear do they like?: Boxer briefs when he needs to go out for work, to exercise, or for something else important and boxers if he's just hanging around at home or is running casual errands.

Designs on clothing or no?: Yes, but he's not like… a snob about it. He has a few expensive pieces of clothing and matching accessories that he likes to wear to work and important functions and he keeps those in a specifc part of his closet. He doesn't have loyalty so any specific, high-end brands, though, as he just wears what he thinks will look good on him. The only thing he does keep constant is the tailor he goes to if any of his clothes need to be altered and the jeweler he visits.

Aside from that, most of his other outfits are pretty basic. Mans rocks a mean t-shirt, jeans, and jacket when he's out running errands. Wears sneakers too.

Birthmarks?: He has two! The first rests on the back of his left shoulder and is about the size of a small button. The second is on the inside of the wrist on the same side. Both are pigmented so if you're looking for them, you'll see them rather easily.

Do they have good self control?: He has to. He's the one that is basically overseeing most of the money laundering activities in the casino portion of the Oleander Gardens. It's his judgement, financial expertise, discretion, and management skills that are being tested. If something doesn't go as planned or someone makes a mistake, the contingencies in place to correct that are a direct reflection on him and how good he is at his job ( and thus a reflection on his bosses ).

He can't afford to not have a firm handle on his emotions and thoughts because when something goes wrong money-wise or payments are delayed ( often times for reasons 100% out of his control ) and someone is in his face ready to carve out his eye because they're impatient, he can't just do or say whatever comes to him in that situation.

Favorite franchise?: he likes the Alien franchise, surprisingly. could not tell you why--he just thinks the entire concept is a little cool. he's watched all the movies--even the ones that are not as popular. he's not a walking encyclopedia but he probably knows key points in most of the movies by heart.

Do they re-enact scenarios in the shower?: Not really? He does think about certain different scenarios and the many different ways it could've gone but I don't think he'd re-enact them per se.

Do they tell the waiter that their order is wrong?: Yes lmao. He doesn't hesitate to tell the waiter his order is wrong. Isn't rude about it ( because how are they supposes to know it's wrong ) but he'd tell them before they even set the plate down. He'll wait a little longer if he's eating with someone, though, because some part of him knows how rude that can seem to others, even if he doesn't mean it that way.

Stairs or elevator?: Either or? Whichever is closest is the one Andy will take unless he's with someone that wants to use the other. He's not too picky.

Are they an exaggerator when telling stories?: here and there but, like any good liar, it's never for the sake of just exaggerating stories. his exaggerations always have a purpose and are usually thought out before he says it. like… he thinks on the main points of his story or whatever he's saying as he's speaking so he knows what to emphasize and what to draw attention to. He may embellish the truth a bit but never in a way that's unbelievable, because the best way to lie in a story… is to tell the truth--a carefully edited truth.

I know I’ve said it before (not sure if it was to you or one of the few other blogs I follow that know HACF) but one of the most impressive things that show did is make Gordon a character I hated in the beginning (like every time I started to like him, or even just be neutral to him, he would do something that would piss me off and make me hate him all over again) to a character I absolutely loved by the most end. And the show is only 40 episodes; there’s so much character growth from him in such a short amount of episodes and it feels believable, not like some shows where a character is all of a sudden way different in the second season and you just know that the writers changes them because they didn’t know how to write for them or what to do with them. I want to do a rewatch too but I’m trying to get myself to finish a couple of shows first (I have a bad habit of getting distracted and not finishing shows even when I’m enjoying them).

yeah and what's remarkable about it is that he isn't really such a different person by the end. like, sure, he learns and grows through the course of the show, as do the others. but it's not like he went on a journey to become a much better person

i think what makes him more likeable towards the end is that he himself has learned to accept who he is and to enjoy the life he has instead of yearning for what could have been. he's still gordo, he stilll has the annoying qualities he had at the beginning, but that small change makes him a better partner and a better friend

#i guess you could say that counts as becoming a different/better person #is our outlook on life a choice or part of who we are or both

i usually keep this stuff to myself since its super personal and i probably will just sound like a crazy person bu t i really just want to get something down and post it and MAYBE get some sort of like ? validation. that im not the only one who feels this way or does this LOL

so just. long story short. does anyone get like physically ill over seeing someone else like . engaging and doing "more" with a special interest slash interest youre really really into? like. just like 10 or os minutes ago somethting happened and i started lowkey shaking and shit (but maybe its just bc its real hot where i am rn but idk) and felt sick to my stomach all bc someone was engaging "more" with something i rly rly like and i just uuuuugh

ive had this feeling ever since i got into until dawn and the quarry lol...... this feeling has been occurring a lot less frequently than during like last year. which like. speaking of. when the quarry first came out the feeling came and WEEEENT....... ALLL THE TIME. like i wasnt even into the game that much yet but seeing other ppl engaging w/ and making content for it...... made me feel suuuper ill. or maybe was it when i first started getting into it? yeah i think it was when i first started hyperfixating. but anyway LOL IT WAS A TERRIBLE FEELING. AND IT HAPPENED SO OFTEN TOO

luckily its gotten a lot better in terms of the quarry. especiailly after joining tumblr and all. but until dawn? naaah its still very much there lol. as i said earlier, it doesnt happen as much as it used to (in regards to UD) but. it stilll happens. as i just fucking found out. ive settled down quite a bit now but good god

until dawn is such a dead fandom but theres just some things that when i see it it still makes me go wiiiild (negative). i dont know why. it makes feel so sick. and i dont hold it against anyone of course, it just affects me interacting w/ slash following people LOL! and it mainly has to do w/ sam and emily LMAO especiallly sam as ive come to find out.... i think its becasue ive projected sooo much of myself onto her that im like super protective and shit. like... shes not your fictional public character shes MINE. and thats not your public piece of media. its MINE. you know?

and its liike. i KNOW that there are ppl who are more into UD and have been into it longer than i have. i know that. and htat doesnt always affect me. but tthen therr are just osme other times where it seriously DOES and its just.... man. i wish i werent like this LMAO

and its like weird bc like. i was SUPER into mean girls the musical back in 2019 / 2020 and so forth. but i dont ever remember getting THIS BAD over others being "more" into it than i was. and this isnt just straight up jealousy. i know how that feels and its DEFINITELY not that. i truly dont know what makes until dawn / the quarry so different. maybe becasue this was the first time ive engaged more with the fandom? especially on tumblr? i dont know man. i dont kn ow
