There's a part of me that thinks that the reason why Margaret Beaufort isn't all that well-liked in her portrayals in fictional media is partly because she can’t be sexualised.

Oh, absolutely! This is very evident in Gregory's novels where she is described as 'ugly as sin'. We all know the first thing mocking a woman for her appearance does is to single out said woman as particularly inferior, evil and/or undeserving of love and respect. It is, of course, convenient to blame a woman to absolve a man.

Everything about Margaret Beaufort is villainised, even her piety — which is another thing that makes Margaret so difficult to sexualise: there's no evidence that she ever had some great romance. On the contrary, she took a widow's vow of chastity whilst her husband was still alive. In the Gregory-esque logic of thinking, a woman is either beautiful and desirable and good, or ugly and frigid and evil.

I really enjoyed drawing these two

mostly because I LOVE the art styles for the Mirage comics and for Mutant Mayhem, and it was really fun trying to incorporate some of that vibe into my art work! I'm also really fond of the little picture of my versions of Leo and Raph that I added onto my post for day 22 because they're my baby boys and I love them! 💙❤

I'm only just now realising that I never got round to drawing Donnie for any of the prompts! I'm sorry Donnie! I really wanted to get more of these done but life kind of got in the way this month! Maybe I'll do some more of them and post them anyway...

Do you think we’ll see the parents/family of each of the guys???

Like, We’ve been TEASED with Ace’s brother, that I’m starting to think it’s just a reference to that Alice in Wonderland park character in Japan and nothing else….

Jack’s family, Ruggie’s grandma, Falena, Maleficia, Ms.Rosehearts, Just now Vil’s dad is in the picture which I am really happy but now I’m wondering about his mom, and so Deuce’s mom.

I mean, some HAVE a silhouette!! It could mean they do have a design in the making/ready to show. They could’ve shown us Falena in the Tamashina (hope I said that correctly) event, but didn’t (prolly to make Leona not so σ(▼□▼メ) and it’s understandable)

Anyhow, any idea/headcannon about this? Who do you want to see first?

I'm wondering if everyone might eventually get a travel event? like they've now introduced with Vil's that it doesn't have to be specifically hometowns, so that opens things up a lot! (especially if they have to figure out how to do three separate Coral Sea visits) (how would that even work otherwise)

but yeah, I hope everyone gets a chance! there's a lot of backstory characters I would LOVE to meet. :D :D :D though I do think some of them don't really suit the more light-hearted tone of the events (pretty sure you're right about that being why Falena wasn't in Tamashina-Mina, that would've just been. too much for Leona.) so like...we're probably not ever going to meet the Rosehearts. or Maleficia (although I maintain that this would be THE funniest possible way to introduce her outside of the main story, and actually I would love this a lot, can we please Twst) (I need to see her to put Malleus in a froofy little outfit and tell him what a handsome boy he is). but they've sprung surprises like Kifaji on us, and honestly anyone who shows up and tells embarrassing stories about characters' childhoods is good in my book!

characters off the top of my head who I most want to meet: literally any of the Zigvolts, Azul's mom, Ace's brother, Che'nya's grandfather (<- I think he would be a good one for Riddle) (please just any non-terrible adult in his life), any member of Rook's family because I need to see how they managed to produce him, and...really just whoever they can come up with for Silver.

Hiii Anon!

No, it's not some mad collective fever dream we all had, they really did film it (6 months of shooting between July 2021 and January 2022). Native title is 吉星高照 (Ji Xing Gao Zhao) English title is Eternal Faith.

If we ever get to see it is another matter, i probably don't need to say the main reason is because it's a danmei adaptation - it'll have a harder time passing the censors than the average cdrama. Since the popularity of other dangais it seems the censors have become stricter in any case. Job one is always going to be passing the censors.

While checking chinese websites and articles I did find several sources of a rumour that the site security punched a girl who was visiting the set. I can't vouch for the reliability of this but anything that can potentially attract criticism can delay a cdrama release further. Other criticisms include the casting of the male leads, how cheap the set design and costuming look, and a cancelled actress who may have to remain uncredited.

So it will need to satisfy the censors in order to be relased, as well as satisfy the general public and tgcf fans to be worth releasing and I'm not sure if it can do it all. If all goes well and it does ever pass censorship, we won't get a release date in advance. I don't know if you've ever experienced waiting for a cdrama release but you will not get much warning when it airs. It will likey drop with a couple days warning in form of internet rumours, or just completely out of the blue.

HAVING SAID THAT - another rumour is that a full costume bl drama like the untamed will be released internationally in Sept 2024, bypassing a Chinese release. It's just a rumour but it does make this webpage very interesting! But please remember everything above and not get too excited just yet 😂.

6. Which yet-to-be-started fic is first on your list?

Probably one of the two new chapters I mentioned in my last answer (whichever one strikes my inspiration first).

20. Any plans to work on original fiction this year?

It depends on what people consider to be original fiction. I want to write a novel about the events of 1483-85 through the eyes of Margaret Beaufort, Henry Tudor and Elizabeth of York (the three people imo who made Henry VII's ascension possible—including himself of course lol). It's mostly a wish born out of frustration after reading too many novels where Elizabeth of York blames her mother for everything instead of being her partner and where Henry Tudor does fuck-all despite the extremely interesting political scenario of France and Brittany at that time. I would LOVE to have Henry in awkward situations standing between Anne de France/Beaujeu and their cousin Louis d'Orléans as they're fight for the regency. I would love to have Henry navigate the extreme conspiracies going on in Brittany whilst Duke François was ill, all of that as Henry tried to get support to his own cause. I would also love to depict the beginning of his relationships with Giles Daubeney, Thomas Lovell, (later bishop) Richard Foxe and (later cardinal) John Morton. He made some long lasting and trusted friendships during that time and it's never portrayed in fiction, which is a pity. I'm getting too carried away lol I can talk more about it later if you want.

But if people don't like to include historical fiction in the 'original fiction' category, then I do have plans for writing original characters but I don't plan on doing that this year, no.

I HAVE AN UNFINISHED STORY THING THAT I WANT TO SHARE!!!!!!!

(I haven’t worked out all the details yet so I’m just gonna give you the gist of it.)

The Chain are settled for the evening and hear screams in the forest and go investigate… there they find a pregnant reader (at least 6 months) about to be attacked by the shadow and its monsters. The Chain defeat the monsters and the shadow retreats. They patch up reader and try to ask questions as to why she was attacked. They don’t get much out of her, all reader can really say is-

“None of the townsfolk like me, but I don’t think anyone would want me dead.”

The Chain is wary of the situation but promise to protect reader for the night and escort her back home in the morning. Eventually during a very tasty dinner, the baby kicks and reader goes-

“You like it too, Link?”

While gazing lovingly at her belly and rubbing the spot where the baby kicked. The entire Chain immediately freeze. Time and Wars eventually snap out of the shock and start to ask questions.

“Your baby’s name is Link?”

“Yes.”

“Is he named after the father?”

Reader scoffs. “No. I don’t wish my child to have anything in common with that bastard.”

“What made you want to name him Link?”

“It came to me in a dream.”

“How do you know it’s a boy?”

Reader gets a bit sheepish. “Well… I don’t. But in my dreams I always see a boy. However, I do have a name in case he turns out to be a she. Lana. Pretty, right?”

(Cue Wars getting PTSD flashbacks. MOVING ON!!!)

Similar questions continue until reader gets fed up and is like-

“Ok, what’s going on? Why are you all so interested in me and my child?”

The Chain just looks among each other as they’re unsure of what to tell reader as they’ve just met and she’s already been attacked tonight so her mental state probably isn’t the best. Legend just goes-

“Are you positive you’ve never seen the shadow or anything like it before?”

Reader hesitates for a moment before answering. The Chain notices and pushes her on it. They eventually convince her to tell them.

“Well… not all the dreams I have about my child are good. Actually, most of them are terrible nightmares.”

“Can you tell us what happens in these nightmares?”

Reader sighs. “Truthfully, it’s just one repeating nightmare. I wake up in what appears to be a castle or something similar and I’m covered in blood. I hear a baby crying and I rush to the sound as fast as I can, I end up in a circular room and on the other side of it… there’s a black figure with red eyes holding my sleeping baby and grinning at me. Before I can get close to my baby, a horrible stabbing pain rips through my chest… and then I wake up.”

So yeah, the Chain realize that reader is carrying this era’s hero of courage. They decide to take reader with them to keep her and the baby safe from the shadow. It’s a big adjustment for everyone involved… The Chain have to learn how to continue their adventure with a pregnant lady they have to care for while reader has to learn how to maneuver life traveling with all these men on a dangerous journey.

Probable questions with answers.

Q. Why don’t the townsfolk like reader?

A. Because she got pregnant with the Mayor’s son’s child… out of wedlock.

Q. Why did they ask if the baby was named after the father?

A. They were hoping that the hero of that era was already an adult and had finished his adventure so the baby was in no danger of carrying the fate attached to their shared name.

Q. Why does reader hate the father?

A. Because they got trapped in a huge snowstorm together and had no choice but to use “survival 101” to survive… He pressured her into doing the dirty. When she told him she was with child, he wanted nothing to do with her or the baby. He told everyone she was a harlot and had practically forced herself on him to save his reputation. Since he was the mayor’s son and well liked while she was just a simple huntress who kept to herself… everyone believed him.

Q. Why does reader have these dreams?

A. They’re warnings. Something or someone is trying to tell her of the dangerous future that lays before her.

Q. Is this a platonic story or a romantic one?

A. Um… I actually don’t know. The story has shifted between the two a few times since its creation. Romance is a bit weird in this context as reader is the mother of this era’s hero but there is absolutely no blood relation to any of the other heroes (bombastic side eye to Time and Twilight.) so it is still possible. However, the romance route the story takes is mostly with Warriors whenever it does shift that way. I’m not sure why, but that’s just how it flows.

I feel like I should have a lot to say but there's so much potential that I'm sure what's the direction you want to take it.

I know that it's not necessarily said in the Zelda universe, but what if Reader was a descendant of Sky and related to the "royal family". Not the mayor's family. Reader can easily be from a kingdom outside of Hyrule. But like a long lost cousin twice removed or something to the Queen of Hyrule. That way the dreams would be less like warning and more on the prophetic dream thing.

Whether Sky delves into this, of it becomes tied into Reader's relationship with the official royal family of Family can be talked about later.

I also wanted to say that romance isn't inherently a bad thing to add. If it's leaning towards Warrior whenever it comes into the mix, then I say lean into it. Granted, I'm a sucker for romance and I know it's not needed for a good story. But if the dynamic between the character lends itself naturally to it, then let the characters lead. :)

I would give more notes but I would need to know more with where you're going with it. (Thank you for the Q and A at the end. I loved it. It helped a lot. XD)
