Continuing with Human!reader. I think they'd be more susceptible to illnesses than any of the hylians. A common cold for us is a simple sniffle for a hylian, so I could only imagine their cold be like our pneumonia. Their immune system is horrible against all the viruses in Hyrule since they probably don't exist where they are from, and that's not including if they have any other medical issues that further compromise their immune system. I can't imagine the boys seeing a nearly half dead reader because they tried to hide their illness since it's not a big deal for the boys whenever they catch it, and they don't want to be a burden :<
Ooooohhhhh- that makes a lot of sense. I just didn't consider that angle yet.
Which would also explain why humans would have had to have a higher level of medical advances as well.
It could also level the hylians need for constant breaks to keep up their stamina, verses Reader inability to travel much in the rain or during the night because they don't want to get sick in the middle of nowhere.
Which was something Link would have never had to have taken into consideration before if he wouldn't have gotten sick at all either.
And then when Reader does eventually get sick, everybody wants to write them off at first. (If Reader doesn't try to hide it... or maybe they do and they react this way anyway). "You can't be that sick. The weather hasn't been that bad. You don't need to complain so much, you know."
Cue to Reader eventually developing a fever- starting to lag behind the group when they would have been able to keep their pace and then some.
No one seems to think much of it until Reader gets dizzy and nearly falls flat on their face.
They finally get a hold of them and feel that their completely burning up and can't answer basic question because they've gone loopy.
Suddenly they're all hit with whiplash and dowsed with cold water.
It's far more serious than they could have imagined.

What about modern clothing headcanons for the boys, I think wild would wear one of those shirts with the wolves looking at the moon and a pair of khaki shorts
I need to see Time in his black turtle neck, tucked into some black slacks with a brown belt. Don't ask questions.
Twilight had a read flannel somewhere and blue jeans paired with with either beaten down sneakers that have seen better days, or cowboy boots.
Warrior is likely to wear brand clothes. He probably has Gucci or Prada- dresses like a real life Ken Doll.
Legend probably wears things like basketball shorts and Nike t-shirts. Wears Jordans
Hyrule would wear torn demin jeans that have seen better days, beat up converse and a simple black t-shirt.
Sky is the King of Comfy. Cable knit sweaters and simple brown slacks. Likes sweatpants.
Four probably wears more athletic wear. (Yes, I'm stealing this headcanon). He could pass for a 80's jazzerise host. Just trade the leotard for the classic grey sweat pants and you're good to go!
Wind wears FnaF Walmart t-shirts with a mafia head Freddy on the front with demin shorts and light up shoes because they're awesome.
Wild dresses like you said. It's perfect. No updates, changes or alterations' please and thank you.

do you think twi as wolfie has control over when his tail wags?? or is it a like subconscious thing when hes happy?? PLS I CSNT STOP THINKING ABOUT THIS I LOVE HIM
Absolutely not.
It just happens!
Like- do you consciously smile when you're happy or think something is funny? :D
Same thing.
It's the doggo happy face. Twilight knows he does it in theory. Does he control it? Nope!
He could stop it when he figures out that it's happening but I very much don't think it's something on his mind 24/7.

Hello Pinky I hope you missed me and my Lynel Farm!
I got an idea which would be hilarious! Reader is a Link! But not any Link no they are Wild and the Link from TotK! And they are a MENACE! Why?
Well, Reader can use glitches like Bullet-Time Bounce or clipping or Wacko-Boingo. They also wear the Tunic of Wild. But they came after TotK to the game and they can duplicate everything! And everything is maxed out of capacity they can't carry a single drop more. Their Purah Pad is about to explode! But then just imagine their meeting.
Legend: „Seriously does anyone know where the fuck we are?!“
Wind: „It looks like a forest.“
Reader used BTB and yeeted themself above the group with their shield on their feet just to shield surf the hill down with speed.
Sky: „What was that?“
„I want that too!!“ with that Wild shield surfed the hill down too.
Twilight: „I will go and get him...“
But the whole group follows as Reader is obviously someone who knows where to go. But as they see Wild and Reader standing there face to face. They are just stunned. They look the same! But Reader is missing an arm and has a mechanical arm instead. But these two seem to get along. This is how they learned that Reader is Wild practically but instead of doing all the Beast, gathering memories and the shrines to pull the sword. They instantly went after Ganon. They fought in their underwear and some Weapons they found on their way and sticks against the Calamity. They don't even know what a Master Sword is! They did the shrines after the Calamity.
But even if they are so bubbly and well wild. They don't talk about their journey and to Twilight. They felt betrayed by him. They needed him as they woke up in a shrine without any orientation or knowledge where they are and what happened. They just needed Wolfie by their side and to help them with their upcoming panic attack. They also don't trust the Chain immediately. They could be Yiga or puppets, sorry for Spoilers, like the Zelda which they chased after in the present. And if someone asks about their journey they only tell the stories of The Hero of Wild not the Hero of Ruins, who they are now. They turn cold and say with an icy tone „It's not your business!“
But Four should never see their weapons or he gets a heart attack. They got so many cursed weapons. But Reader is also freaking strong! Lifting a claymore is hard enough but a claymore fused with another claymore, that's heavy! They fused two Biggoron Swords together or two Dusk Claymores. They also hear the poes in the Depths and that's how they got the weapons. Thanks to the talking statues.
Reader also talks more to their horse and this one isn't small! Even Ganondorf's stallion is smaller than that. It's a giant white stallion and it stomps on everything that comes across their way! With the beautiful name "Thunder" because this thing has loud stomps! But since it's so tall it also takes great maintenance and that's Reader's therapy. When they take care of their giant, they don't feel the phantom pain of losing their arm or hear the whispers of the dead. Just the snorts of their horse and the brush. They also sleep with their horse but mostly on fields or caves as forests can have Evermeans and they want to sleep one time without an ambush from everything that wants their death!
Wild and Wild obviously are all around their giant horse. Four is all about their Lynel Sword collection, swords fused with lynel horns. Twilight tries to mend the bridge while they both are carrying about their horses. Legend and Hyrule ask about the sages and their abilities. Warriors and Time tries to get them comfortable enough so they share their journey. Sky teaches them about the Master Sword but they turn off as soon as he begins with Hylia. They are an atheist they don't believe in her.
The rings from Rauru as they lost their arm are built into the artificial arm as the sages gave them an oath of loyalty.
I feel like I understood about 50% of this because I know so little about Totk.
I know about the arm of course and the the cursed weapons! XD
Four would absolutely lose his mind about them. He freaked out when Wild broke his sword on a rock- just wait until that Reader attached a rock to their sword.
I don't know if they would even know who Wolfie is. If he was never there for them since BotW, then would they even know that Wolfie was someone who would have had to there anyway?
So it would be more like-
Wild: Wolfie was a great help to me when I needed him most the first time around. Reader: ...Who? Wild: The wolf... the wolf that followed me- us- you (?) around? Reader:.... Nope. I don't have a clue who you're talking about.
And another note, I do think that they wouldn't trust the chain off the bat though. You're right. They could be yiga in disguise. A new threat to the the land or to Zelda. There's just something off about them that Reader wouldn't have been able to tell what it was.
Especially since they might not even have all their memories anyway. If they did the shrines after Ganon, then who's to say they would have bothered with doing them all anyway? They coudl have just checked out a few, got bored and left it at that.
They might not have any of their memories and are perfectly fine that way.

First of all, i absolutely love your Human Reader headcannons, second of all, do you think that because there human, they cant see Fairies? Or if the human reader was spiritual/wiccan do you think thay they could possibly handle some magic and see magic creatures?
Stay hydrated! :D
Oh fair point!!!
I think humans would be able to see the bigger types of magical creatures. The monsters, the Great Fairies, The Great Deku Tree- heck, even Hestu.
But koroks? Nope.
Minish? Not even remotely.
Faries? ....Maybe. This one is trickier for me because they play such a vital role in LoZ and the adventures of our heroes but I'm going to go with the idea that they see the fairies as the glowing lights that we view them as. (Since our human eyes are very much the same :D).
But in that case, it would be more likely that the Hylians would be able to see the smaller fairies in more detail. Like keeping them in Great Fairy form but make them small.
I don't know if humans (before Wild's time anyway) would be able to do magic in a spiritual sense- but there must be some who can magic in general. Someone who had hylian or gerudo ancestry that would have allowed them to tap into a small portion of magic.
Making them an outlier in both worlds.
Not that humans would shun the use of magic, I think. There's too much of it in the very air for the humans to shun it or deny its existence. It just doesn't apply to them.

I feel like humans and Hylians would both treat music differently. For Hylians, it's like "My mother taught me this song", "this is the song of our people", "this is a magical song", 'll songs are special, magical, traditional. Meanwhile, humans are like: "🎶🎵🎸🎻🎺I fell down the StAaiIIrRssS 🎹🎶🎻 and it HuuuUUuuRrRtTTtT 🎸🎷🎵🎻".
Human songs also tend to be more expressive and violent, whom Hylians are more about classics and conforming to the norm. Music is special, and it's also used as propaganda for the royal family, so they can't allow rebellious people to come in and start making songs to deny that, so music is more controlled.
Not just propaganda, but music for Hylians also correlates to literal magic and spells that they use for secret passageways and passwords.
Hylians would likely hold music more sacred due to the way it works in their society. Propaganda aside, I think that you're right. Hylians would probably only have very specific people be allowed to play music, since they would (probably) be trained to keep away from the inherent magic of their people. ...And the inherent magic of their instruments. (Looks at all the Link's and their gear)
Like how old timey bards couldn't legally have children because their ability to gain public appeal made them a threat to the state.
Humans wouldn't be affected by magic at all so "dododododo~~ GOING OFF THE RAILS ON A CRAZY TRAIN!"
The Chain (those more on the traditional side anyway) would probably be horrified, covering their heads in case lightning strike of something.
Only for nothing to happen and then they have to deal with even more confusion.

Playing on isekai’d human reader, and the stark differences between human and hylian that the chain would notice, I think it’d be funny if reader was so confused by the chain’s admiration because they’re not even athletic by their standards. Like reader isn’t even a bodybuilder and someone just comments on how large their arms are or how buff they look and reader is just like “???” If reader can pick up an injured Sky that has chainmail under his clothes, then how easy would it be for reader to lift someone without heavy duty armor that like three of them carry?
The jarring confusion the chain has when they find out reader isn’t even all that tall or strong by their own standards, there are people much taller and stronger than reader that could probably lift a bridge Hercules style if humans are that different from hylians. If athletically challenged reader can pick up a grown man in armor with ease, what can a bodybuilder do? A pro wrestler?
Twilight wants to wrestle them.
He says that it's to see and compare how strong they are... and he's not lying, but deep down he's a competitive miscreant and he wants to win.
Bonus points if Reader has no clue what to do and is like... "....no?"
The chain would naturally be very intrigued and low key horrified to find that Reader is like "I can't even do a push up. How are you people weaker than me?"
Reader also getting a bit of their own high horse because the chain needs to keep stopping for breaks but they can easily keep going and they're not even hungry yet and come on, they're supposed to be heroes!! Didn't they save the world like a thousand times?! Why do they need another break???

You know how the Links aren't good at swimming without magic? What if that's a Hylian thing, and they just evolved like that? Reader would laugh at them because swimming is easy once you have a few lessons for most people, until she realizes that they actually just can't do it
OOHHHHH Good point!!!
This also ties in with my headcanons already, you know. XD
You know how monkeys, chimps and apes can't swim? It's like that!
Hylians would (probably) have more muscle mass, making them denser by comparison. So they don't swim. They don't even float. They'd just straight up sink.
Reader jumping into random lakes and rivers would scare the bejeebers out of the chain. Only to pop their head back over the surface and wave enthusiastically. "Come on in! The water's fine!"
All the boys: ....no thanks.
Well, maybe Wild would join Reader in that case, but we've all kinda established that Wild is a special case anyway. XD

Ohh, you think Warrior, Four, and Legend would have a dislike for humans? Can you expand more on that? Like the specific attitudes they grew up around that made them feel that way?
(If you want to and aren't too busy, ofc!)
I actually would have thought that Hyrule would like/distrust them the most. He would already come from a turbulent home situation as it is where you're not sure who you can trust and if Hylians are predisposed at this point to not trust/like humans, then he would have the distaste squared.
For Four and Legend, it would just be a product of the society they grew up in, I'd imagine. They don't intend to be malicious but they're warry about letting Reader get close. Between the two, I think that Legend would have it a bit worse than Four purely because of the amount of times he's been bitten by people in general.
Four might be calmer. I remember I wrote once where his Zelda was actually one of the worse one and he was horrified to see it in person. But I don't remember if that before or after his character development in this regard.
Warrior, I think, would be distrustful of people in general. Sure, he can charming and peaceable on the surface, but there's a reason I headcanon him as the best liar of the group. Not only is he also a product of the society he would grow up where Hylians would look down on humans, but he's been stabbed in the back from his own people on the war. And if his people, who are supposed to "better", can do that- what is a lower human capable of?
He'll be real subtle with it though.
It's all in the name of survival and making sure Reader doesn't hurt any of the other boys either.
Time and Wind are more of the middle ground. Time's bias would have to be learned by the time he's spent on the Ranch or while on the War of Eras. He's not fully convinced but he also doesn't really have the foundation to care.
Wind is similar. Like Sky, his world doesn't really have many people to point out the differences. Granted, he would know what a human is and what makes them different beyond their ears but there's just not enough history and prejudice that survived the floor that made the Great Sea.

In your opinion who do you think that’s the worst spice tolerance and who likes spicy food?
I'm throwing this as a lightning round of list with not much rhyme or reason but because I just think so. :D
From least tolerance to bird tongue. :D
Sky
Warrior
Legend
Time
Twilight
Wind
Four
Hyrule
Wild
ok- I have little thought behind this list but this is naturally open for discussion. :D

ooo what other scenarios(w the rest of the chain) do you think would make them be like "oh yeah (human) reader can handle themself"?? also what little things do you think human!reader would do that would make the rest of the chain go "what the fuck you can do that??"
I always think the biggest one is when there's clearly a magic infested cavern or cliff face that everyone is afraid to deal with or travel through, and Reader just jumps in without another thought because they know they won't be affected it whatsoever.
I also think that Hylians would have softer hair, again because magic. Cheaters. So I bet that Reader would probably have a more extensive hair care program to get their hair to be just as soft as theirs.
Which of course confuses the chain because I don't think any of them (outside of Warrior) would actually care that much.
I want to think that humans have softer skin though, which adds to the idea that they're weaker. So all the boys are fascinated by Reader's hands.
Not only on the chance that they're way softer than any of them thought imaginable, but also if they have scars and calluses because of their training and battles. Their scars would would different from the chain's because they would have had to take a much longer time to heal without the use of a fairy or a potions or a healer- not to mention that the manner of receiving the scar would have been different as well because humans have to fight with more brute force and sharper weapons just to make their hits count.
I have no idea if this actually answered your question. ^.^*
But this is what I came up with.

I've been thinking about writing some sort of player/guide!reader fic. The ones I've read so far have had the reader meet the chain almost immediately. I've been thinking about other ways of having them meet. I kinda like the idea of the player/reader/guide having vague memories of playing the Zelda games, but the heroes remember them as some sort of guardian angel. Some of them think they imagined them and some of the heroes think they were a blessed companion. Idk, I'd love to hear thoughts and opinions.
Thanks!
-opinion seeking anon
Hmmmmm.... There's certainly a lot of ways you could take this idea.
Having Reader remember some of the Link's while forgetting the others, verses the Chain not believing Reader to be a real person and other thinking they're "bigger" than they are would be a largely unexplored avenue, I think.
Like....
Link: I thought you were a god sent to be my guardian angle. Reader: I have no idea who you are. Are the one that appears in the middle of a field or the one that lives in a forest?
Verses-
Reader: OH MY GOD IT'S YOU!!! I DIDN'T THINK I'D EVER SEE YOU IN PERSON. Link: I didn't think you were real.
This of course is open to discussion. I just think it would be funny. ^.^*

IM CRYING ITS ORCS???? IM SO EMBARRASSED. but no the amount you put was exactly what i wanted!!! i would love to hear more thoughts you have on it if youre willing to share/if you have anymore!! i like hearing other lu tumblrs thoughts on this
-the og person who asked about the space orcs/guide reader thing
I just remembered one other thing that we talked about!
Humans would also have more stamina than Hylians. I don't remember the reasoning why.
But if Hylians would technically move faster and be physically stronger, humans just... wouldn't stop. XD
You know- like pursuit predators.
So Reader wouldn't really understand the constant need for breaks and would get a little annoyed by the little progress they're making because they don't feel tired. Whereas the group is confused annoyed that Reader wants to keep going when they're tired.
There one snippet I thought of where Sky wasn't sure what to think about Reader being a humans because he literally has no history with them. They both get separated from the group and Sky gets injured.
Undeterred, Reader picks up Sky, holds him to their back and carries him all the way back until they could reunite with the group. Naturally, Sky, the canonically stamina challenged individual, is impressed beyond measure. He scolds the others in the group who don't think Reader is capable of handling themselves and his opinion is changed for the better for the rest of the journey.
I feel like there was more there but I don't remember it. XD

IT IS I! THE WIZARD!
I wanna write a story, but it would be weird to write so here it is:
(Warning: swearing)
A reader who can speak to the dead, can see spirits. They chat often with the villains because they hang around them often, and often ask the reader to tell the Links messages.
The reader collects cursed items, having the strange ability to quell the corrupting powers (for example, they can use Majora's Mask with no negative effect). So they have like cursed knives, Majora, a few shards of the mirror of twilight glued together (I know it's impossible but let me dreeeeaaam-), that kind of stuff.
So like, something like this would happen:
»»————- ★ ————-««
Reader walks up to Four, listening to thr whispers of their spirit friend, Vaati. He had asked to give a message to Link, 'The short one that looks like a f*cked up kinstone', and Reader was too kind to say no. They always knew that spirits that lingered often suffered in pain. Maybe it would help Vaati pass on?
"Hey, Four." Reader said, and Four turned.
"Oh, hello, Reader. Do you need something?"
"I have a message for you." They said, eyes glowing a dim blue, like a luminous stone. "Vaati said 'You're a loser, no maidens?'"
Four passed, a mix of confusion and horror on his face. "I'm sorry, WHO told me WHAT?!"
»»————- ★ ————-««
Reader held Majora in their hands, staring into the great yellow eyes, invested in its whispers. A cough pulled them out of their trance, and Time sat next to it, giving a caughtous glance at the mask. "You seem enamored with that thing."
"I do. . . don't i?" Reader said wistfully. They sighed. "Do you know what it's like. . . seeing the dead? Hearing their woes and being able to do. . . anything? It's painful, watching them suffer."
"Why do you keep it, of you know it's story?" Time asked, frowning. Reader sighed, running a hand on their head.
"You probably wouldn't understand." They explained. "Spirits are more complex than a dungeon clever could be. . . this one has taken a liking to me. . . or. . at least is trying to control me."
Time stiffened. "I've worn it, Majora. He always throws a fit when I do because he cannot invade my mind." Reader explained, turning back to Time and pointing at the marks under their eyes. "These marks are like the ones you have. Proof of my power over it."
Time huffed and Reader suddenly snapped their head back to the mask, eyes glowing blue. Time watched them nod to it, and slowly turn back to Time, eyes still glowing creepily as they slowly asked "He wants to know if you've become a mask salesman too. . ."
»»————- ★ ————-««
"You've lost someone important to you. . . haven't you?" Reader asked Legend on night. He was on watch duty, and the others were asleep. He glared at Reader.
"What?" Legend asked, sounding offended.
"I don't mean to insult!" Reader said quickly. "It's just. . ." Their eyes turned blue, as they looked next to him. The familiar humming of a tune oh so forgien yet familiar to their ears clwas heard only by them, sung by the spirit next to Legend in the pretty blue dress and red hair. "I can see her. . . Was she close to you?"
Legend froze. "What the hell are you talking about? Is this some kind of sick joke?!"
Sensing and watching him grow angry, Reader gave a sympathetic smile. "She likes to hum a pretty tune, you know. as if she is trying tell you it's okay. She can't speak, sadly."
He continued to glare, about combust until they began to him the tune. That tune which he missed of so dearly. The tune he'd trade EVERYTHING he own To be around again.
Reader continued to hum the tune, closing their eyes and doing their best to match the woman's tune when she felt Legend shaking next to them. They stopped and opened their eyes to see him shaking, head in his hands.
"D-dont stop" He said, his voice breaking and shaking. Reader nodded and continued, and his shaking voice started to sing the lyrics softly, leaning into Reader. They wrapped their arms around them, providing some warmth, to comfort the tired, broken, hero, that the lady in blue could not anymore. . .
»»————- ★ ————-««
Either blunt as a dull butter knife or extremely creepy, or comforting. No inbetween. They've got three looks. And That's IT.
Thats all. Thanks for comeing to my Ted talk
I mean.... this could be a pretty decent story if you chose to write it out.
Thank you for sending this in.
This would be like... every Link's worst nightmare. The idea that the people who taunted them and nearly destroyed everything they held dear is still dissing them from the beyond? Horrendous.
They will never be free.
