Our Blooming Youth Review | Episode 01 and 02
Tumblr media
The drama throws us in the middle of a political war already underway and the script is smart to give us enough information to catch up. You can feel the stakes are high and how betrayal, murder, conspiracy are all breathing down at the Crown Prince's neck.
Lady Min (Jeon So Nee) is smart and resourceful. I am already looking forward to see her solve her family's murder and how it's connected to whoever is threatening Crown Prince Hwan (Park HyungSik).
As we learn about the Crown Prince’s true face and insecurities, Lady Min proves to be an outstanding and wise adviser. Now that it has been stablished their enemies are probably the same, I think they will be a force to be reckoned with.
I'm keeping my eye on Sergeant Han Sung-on (Yun Jong Seok) and Lord Kim Myung-jin (Lee Tae Sun). I don't think they are directly involved in the murder of Lady Min's family or the threats to the Crown Prince but perhaps their families are since their respective fathers are Ministers.
I think Lee Hwan wants to trust Sergeant Han but since becoming the Crown Prince it has become difficult to do so, even if he is a childhood friend, because of whom his father is. I admit Minister Han (Cho Seong-ha) is cryptic AF. He looks like ally but is he?
If Minister Han is working against Crown Prince Hwan, it would make sense that he would send someone to kill Governor Min to keep the letter secret and since his son was engaged to their daughter, it would give him opportunity. But, what would be his reason to depose Hwan?
Minister Jo (Jung Woong in) seems like the obvious choice. He’s not trying to hide his dislike for Crown Prince Hwan and wants to depose him to put his own nephew in his place and take control. I think he might be some kind of red herring to distracts from the real person moving all the pieces.
I also don’t trust the Queen (Hong Soo-hyun). I think she might be playing the long game to get her way through her uncle’s machiavellian ways.
Meanwhile I can’t read Minister Kim (Son Byung Ho) at all. I am pretty sure he will become a bigger player later in the story but I’m still not sure for which side. I hope the drama shows a little more of him at court and his relationship with his son.
Crown Prince's bodyguard Tae Gang (Heo Won So) and Lady in waiting Jang Garam (Pyo Yejin) both seem pure and loyal. I am already praying nothing happens to them through the course of this drama because my spidey senses tell me main character is dying in Our Blooming Youth.
Technically speaking, the cinematography is beautiful to look at, the costume design really well done, the directing and performances fun to watch but also set the seriousness of the problems our main characters must overcome. The best part it's the script, which I found to be very smart and well paced.
Overall, I think this drama has the potential to be a great sageuk!

“Hello son.”
Even hearing his voice made Jungkook want to throw up.
He gripped the phone in his hand tightly, his body tensed hearing his fathers voice into the speakers, tired eyes wandered around to see if anyone had heard him.
He sighed deeply as he saw his coworkers busy at their desks.
“Why did you call me?” Jungkook’s tone had now changed, he whispered. his nerves vanishing as his anger took over, the man bit the inside of his cheeks, venom dripped from his voice.
“I can call you whenever I wish to, son.” The older man was just as stubborn as Jungkook, it irked him so much that how calm the older man was. “Ha, of course.” Jungkook replied sarcastically.
His father had no right to sound so entitled, especially not after he had kicked Jungkook out five years ago.
“How’s your son?”
“Why do you care?!” He barked, his voice raising, “fucking hypocrite?! How can you even bring yourself to ask about my son?! The son that you wanted me to abandon, leave him to die?” It was hard for Jungkook to contain his voice from getting louder but he was trying his best.
And his father sensed that.
“Calm down, Jungkook.” The said man wanted to laugh at his “dad” for advising him to calm down, Jungkook’s dad really was the most hypocritical asshole he’d ever seen.
“Why’d you call me, dad?!” Jungkook emphasized on the last word, chewing on his bottom lip as he grabbed his car keys, the phone still pressed tightly into his ear.
“I want to have dinner with you.” Jungkook scoffed, clearing his desk out, “you cannot be serious.” Jungkook grabbed his coat and left the building, too engaged in his conversation with the man he hated the most.
“Tell me, is this about nara?” Jungkook knew his father very well, he was never a man who cared about his family.
“Dinner at the plaza, son. Saturday evening. We’ll continue our conversation there. Goodbye.” The line disconnected before jungkook could argue, his jaw was left agape as he sat in his car, his phone now in his hands as he stared at the screen,
His mind completely blanked. He was not going to be a pawn in his dad’s game this time. Jungkook would rather die than fulfill his fathers demand.
“Fucking damn it!” He started the car, his mind was going crazy the more he thought about his monstrous father.
He banged his hand on the steering wheel out of frustration, his mood was ruined, his excitement was gone.
He was looking forward to seeing you.
He couldn’t afford to have his mood ruined. Right now? He needed to focus on the PTM.
He needed to focus on you.
Tumblr media
You’ve been here for the last two hours.
“Mrs Choi, haru is a very good boy, he’s very into arts and is always very eager to participate in such activities.” You smile at the young woman, praising her son who smiles in return at you.
Seeing the little guy’s smile makes your heart very warm. “But.” You clear your throat. “He can be quite naughty especially with his friends.” You watch as Mira, the boys mother throws him a stern look.
The boy just pouts in return, his green eyes shining with mischief.
“Thank you for letting me know, Ms Yn… I’m guessing the friends are Jeon Seol, Min byung-ho and Lee-Jin?” The mother passes a look of disappointment to her son. You smile lightly at the sight.
“He’s a very good boy, very athletic too.” You begin praising your student, “and his friends are very good boys too, although Haru seems to be a little attached towards Jeon Seol.”
The mother turns her head to look at you once again, “yes I’m aware, they’re very close friends since their childhood together actually. My husband is a friend of Seol’s Dad.” You raise your eyebrows at that.
You were not aware of that, Mr Jeon was such a friendly man? He was even friends with your best friend and her husband too.
Small world.
“And yes, his English and both Korean are very good, especially for a little guy his age.” You nod at the young mother who ruffles her sons hair.
“Say thank you, haru.” She was such a sweet woman, barely any older than you, and you were almost done with the meeting.
“That’s all, mrs Choi.” You stand up and you watch the foreign woman take her sons hand and she bows her head to you, you repeat the gesture.
“See you soon.” You wave the duo bye and sit down at your chair again, you are pretty sure your ass aches but.
a few more parents were yet to meet with you.
It was going to be a long long day.
You sighed.
Tumblr media
“SORRY I WAS LATE BUT IM HERE!”
Jungkook’s eyes searched for you, his loud voice had grabbed attention of people in the classroom as he walked through the students and their parents.
“DADDY!” Jungkook felt a pair of small arms wrap around his legs, stopping him in his tracks when his eyes found you.
You were looking so beautiful.
“H-Hey champ!” Jungkook replied to his 5 year old son as he picked him up, “Why’re you late?!” His son grabbed his face and turned it towards him, Jungkook teared his eyes from you, focusing on his son instead.
Seol pouted at his distracted dad, “ms Y/N is waiting for you!”
Jungkook smiled at that as he kissed his son on the cheeks, “really? I’m sorry for making her and you wait, my love.” He giggled with his son.
“Come.” Jungkook had his son in his arms as he sat down in front of you. Seol was sitting in his lap comfortably but Jungkook was looking at you.
“Oh Mr. Jeon you’re here!” You exclaim, focusing your attention on him, giving him the most ethereal smile ever.
His heart fluttered.
“H-Hi… I’m sorry I-I was late.” Jungkook stuttered like a little boy in front of you, “it’s alright. Let’s begin shall we?”
Tumblr media
Jungkook could listen to you forever.
He was having the time of his life, watching you, listening to your voice, he was feeling so lucky, it felt like to him it was just you, his son and you in the large room.
It was partially true, because the room was now almost empty.
He was actually glad that he was late.
“Ummm, are you there, Mr Jeon?” He watched your eyebrows twitch and you looked at him with confusion, your features looking even more beautiful.
“Daddy?”
He felt Seol pinch his skin and he broke his trance of thoughts, you watch him with concern and he also felt his child’s eyes on him.
“Yes-Yes I’m listening, ms yn… you continue, please.”
He was sounding like the most dumbest lovesick fool ever, but he didn’t mind sounding so stupid, you made him act so weird that it was impossible for him to be normal around you.
“And please please call me Jungkook, like I asked you to last night.”
He knows he probably shouldn’t have said that out loud, but oh well.
He had.

My Top Solo Leveling Ships
Wanted to talk a little about them, so I'll just list three main reasons why I like them otherwise this post will be endless. There are a lot of other ships I like, but these are the main ones
It's a little unhinged, but that shouldn't be new
1. ChoiBaek
Tumblr media
This shouldn't be a surprise
They are aware of the other's intentions without needing to tell each other. They both read other people and each other very well. The only reason they don't get along is because when both of them want the same thing (recruiting Sung Jin-Woo, a gate in the area, etc), they are both very willing to fight for what they want and use their perceptiveness to their advantage. One of them doesn't mind having his thoughts being known while the other minds a lot
They both want their guild become stronger but not at the expense of their members. They have the same morals, but the actions they take because of their morals are different. Baek Yoon-Ho wants to make his guild stronger by focusing on what his members need as individuals (paying them more, training new recruits with stronger and more experienced members, etc). Choi Jong-In wants to make his guild stronger by focusing on improving how the teams work together (hunting in a orderly way to minimize injuries as much as possible, taking a leadership role to make sure none of the members are falling behind, making sure the teams are adequately prepared, etc). Both of them care a lot about other people, though they don’t make it obvious to others
Both know the other is strong (Choi Jong-In defends Baek Yoon-Ho when Sung Jin-Woo thinks Yoon-Ho is struggling during the Jeju sparring match while Baek Yoon-Ho is aware of Choi Jong-In's strength during the Jeju Raid) but tend to underestimate themselves (Baek Yoon-Ho believing he wouldn't have been able to win against the Japanese S-Ranks when he held out for a while on his own against two of them, and Choi Jong-In seeing his title as "a joke" after comparing himself to Sung Jin-Woo when he always has to limit how much of his powers he actually uses because of the people around him or the environment he is in)
This got long anyways... sorry. The others are shorter
2. SungPark
Tumblr media
I wanted to see them more than the main couple
They are both selfless to the point where they make sure others are alright before taking care of themselves
They both want their family to be safe and happy and make taking care of their children their priority. Park Kyung-Hye tells her son it's okay for him to be a hunter, even though it's the reason why Sung Il-Hwan is gone, and she understands that it's something both her husband and son feel like they need to do
The way Kyung-Hye kept waiting for her husband to return home and knew the exact moment when he wouldn't be coming back Ripped my heart to SHREDS-
They were so in love laskdjfasdlf
3. MinLee
Tumblr media Tumblr media
AKA younger!SungPark
Both of them have similar trauma, so they're able to help each other, especially since they're both retired
Even they have trauma, they have put their fears aside to help people more. Both participate in the last Jeju raid despite Min Byung-Gyu being traumatized from the last one and Lee Ju-Hee being traumatized from her previous raids
The way Lee Ju-Hee hardly showed up after she told Sung Jin-Woo she was retiring and Min Byung-Gyu barely being mentioned besides his trip to Japan before the Jeju Raid? There's so much potential for them to actually meet-
I see them as the "bunny couple"
4. ChulWoo
Tumblr media
This was actually one of the first ships I really got into
The way Woo Jin-Chul knew Sung Jin-Woo from the beginning and was watching Sung Jin-Woo get stronger without realizing it at first
The way Woo Jin-Chul looked at Sung Jin-Woo in the new timeline when he remembered the previous timeline-
Honestly, in my opinion, Sung Jin-Woo had more potential with Woo Jin-Chul than Cha Hae-in. Like, Sung Jin-Woo avenging Go Gun-Hee not just for his sake but for Woo Jin-Chul? Sung Jin-Woo actually trying to not give Jin-Chul a headache but failing? I love their dynamic
5. HeeSeok
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is probably the most cracked ship out of these, but it's cute
Both of them have a caring, almost parent-like nature (Park Hee-Jin looking after Han Song-Yi during the Red Gate and Eun-Seok looking after and warning Min Byung-Gyu during the third Jeju Raid)
It's actually possible for them to have known each other despite it not being stated in canon (Eun-Seok was a member of the Fiend Guild, and Park Hee-Jin could have been a member of the Fiend Guild as well before leaving for White Tiger. The game might change this part about Park Hee-Jin, but I'll stick with it for now)
The way Eun-Seok wears a scarf with his hunter's outfit, and then Park Hee-Jin gets stuck in a frost Red Gate? And Park Hee-Jin looks somewhat okay despite it being cold, so it seems like both are fine in cold environments
Actually, in my monarch/ruler AU, Frost Monarch!Eun-Seok could be the reason Park Hee-Jin gets stuck there in that Red Gate...hmm
Feel free to ask for more of my thoughts and talk about your own below

SL characters as movie stars AU!
Sung Jin-woo
has been acting since he was a teenager. Though, he only gets lesser roles until he grows in the acting industry, thus earning the "glow up" as well the more he takes on roles. By the time he's in his twenties, Jin-woo receives lead roles and has never left ever since due to the impact of his performance that is hard to be seen as a supporting character. His movies range from drama, adventure, and action — though, he spend most of his time in the action genre. Jin-woo does his own stunts as he does martial arts and working out as his hobbies. Whenever he gets partnered up with someone, dating rumors always spark up, so he tends to avoid having a partner for the sake of protecting his zone. He improvises some of his lines and is very professional.
Cha Hae-in
a former athlete to one of the country's biggest stars. Due to her sweetheart persona, she often gets roles in soap operas, dramas, and romance, though she wants to take on the action genre to hone her skills. Her management got her stunt doubles, much to her dismay, until they trusted her enough to do her own stunts. Hae-in's skills are very realistic that every time she cries in her scenes, several of the production cry as well, thus allowing her to earn many awards. She gets along with her co-workers and is even said to be that some of her leading men develop a crush on her. However, she has not dated at least one of them, even outside her career, as she chooses to focus on her job.
Woo Jin-chul
a star who has been featured in international movies, hence becoming a multilingual because of his passion in learning new languages before his departure from South Korea. He is usually stern, but is very friendly to his co-workers, as well as his fans. Jin-chul takes on both protagonist and antagonist roles, although he secretly likes his villain roles more than his hero ones. He does his own stunts and is skillful with holding guns.
Choi Jong-in
most of his roles are those wherein he's the son of a millionaire or just a rich person who owns a big company. He hardly gets main roles, but the impact in his performances even as a supporting character are what made him prominent in the industry. Jong-in also has roles where he's an antagonist, which his fans prefer more; it is also said that some of his castmates or co-workers feel quite intimidated by him.
Baek Yoon-ho
a prominent action star who does his own stunts. Not once he has appeared in movies that are anything but action. Despite being in his twenties, Yoon-ho receive roles where he is a single father who will do anything to protect his family, thus capturing the hearts of the young actors and actresses he works with. He also helps his castmates in training for fighting scenes, thus forming a bond with them as well. Yoon-ho has his own charity that he donates a sufficient amount of money in for helping tigers and other wild animals.
Lee Ju-hee
one of the industry's dearest sweethearts. Her movies are mostly in the slice of life genre, specifically romance. Regardless of what she believes, Ju-hee never fails to create chemistry with the ones she works with, especially to those who have partnered up with her. She receives both main and supporting roles. Lee Ju-hee may have appeared in horror and action films, but she prefers to stay in the slice of life genre despite not minding to step out of her comfort zone.
Lim Tae-gyu
a actor whose roles are primarily supporting, yet has many main roles as well. His skill ranges from drama, comedy, and action. Tae-gyu mostly does his own stunts, always allotting his time in training once he receives the script. He's charismatic, yet isn't necessarily great when it comes to romantic chemistry because of the vibe he frequently gives out. He's friends with many famous stars such as Baek Yoon-ho, Choi Jong-in, Ma Dong-wook, Min Byung-gyu, Sung Jin-woo, and Cha Hae-in, and has revealed of his wish of being able to be in the same film as them together.
Min Byung-gyu
an actor who has shown up in various genres. When it comes to slice of life, Byung-gyu mostly gets leading roles, and sometimes, he gets the "second male lead" roles, which brings more impact to the viewers. But as for other genres like action and horror, Byung-gyu takes on supporting roles; he is one of the actors who has a stunt double and still gets to do certain stunts depending on his capability. And when it comes to the historical genre, that is when Byung-gyu gets most excited and believes he does his roles better in period dramas than the rest, partly because he is a big fan of historical dramas which he views his other roles differently. Byung-gyu is great at improvising his lines that the director only has to tell him the background of the scene and Byung-gyu knows what to do next, which somehow makes some actors feel challenged as they are not sure if they can go along with Byung-gyu's improvised lines. But, Byung-gyu always does his best to help his co-stars and not make them feel pressured.
Eun-seok
one of the country's lesser known actors who is known for getting background roles. Eun-seok hardly appears in films, yet is friends with a lot of big stars in the industry. The reason being that he got severely injured in set once, which has scarred him and chose to no longer show up in filming unless he feels like doing so.
Yoo Jin-ho
a supporting actor who is well-known for being Sung Jin-woo's "sidekick" as he had been acting alongside him for years. Yoo Jin-ho specializes in roles that are comedic relief — he doesn't mind it since that means he doesn't have a lot of lines to memorize. Despite being an actor himself, Jin-ho is not afraid to unleash his inner "fanboy" when it comes to expressing his support in actors and actresses he admires.
Park Hee-jin
an actress who is known for her background or supporting roles. Hee-jin excels from soap operas to action movies. Her roles are usually helping the main character and defending them from the antagonist(s).
Ma Dong-wook
a versatile actor in his fifties who has different roles in various genres, whether it be a father or someone the main characters seek help from. He shares his experiences to his fellow stars as his way of helping them in filming and has a lot of actors/actresses wishing to act in the same movie as him; not because of his talent, but also his kind nature that he treats everyone younger than him as his children.
Liu Zhigang
China's rising action star. A likeable and charming actor whose roles are both protagonist and antagonist. Zhigang does his own stunts and likes to go to the extreme where no editing shall be involved. He's one of the faces in the industry whose management cannot simply allow to be part of a film unless the paycheck is immense and does not tarnish Zhigang's talent. In every film he is in, it receives many awards that reach up to internationals. Zhigang has acted in international films, which makes him fluent in English after being casted alongside stars in different countries.
Thomas Andre
a powerful actor in the USA who is popular for his antagonistic roles. Thomas enjoys playing the bad guy. And what makes him likeable is that he donates half of his money to charities and has his own foundation for children with special needs and disabilities. He is funny and tends to joke around in set, along in conventions where he gets to communicate with fans and gives them the best time in their lives.
Laura
an actress who excels most in the action genre. She films her scenes effortlessly and smoothly without needing a second take. Laura learns martial arts off-screen and knows how to hold a gun; she is also sassy and has the kind of humor that makes her co-stars adore working with her despite her stern and cold demeanor.
Goto Ryuji
a versatile actor in Japan who appears in dramas and action. His roles are mostly in the villain side, which what makes him intimidating to other actors. Goto prefers to work with those who are professional and hardly messes up more than twice otherwise he thinks they are wasting his time. However, he is usually gently to those who are younger and new to the acting industry, he looks out for them and won't hesitate to scold the production if the first time actors ever get hurt in set.

message me if you feel I need more warnings
3.4k words
You made your way to the front, the sound of your name, leaving nearly everyone shocked but your best friend, who had the biggest grin on her beautiful face. No one had expected you to get through, not even yourself. A blush blankets your face as you make your way to the line at the front. A moment passes as everyone waits for the ladies who did not get through to leave the smaller courtyard.
"Congratulations ladies" you hear Hoseok speak, breaking the silence, whilst looking over each and every one of you. You don't know if you were just imagining it, but the tall and handsome man had sent an almost imperceptible smile your way, making your eyes go wide. "Now, myself and Jungkook will tell you your residences, and we will also assign you 2 maids and a manservant for you to use at your convenience"
"Let's start with the furthest away from this little courtyard shall we?" Jungkook questioned, though the question was rhetorical.
"Bae Suzy, You are in the Sapphire Apartment. Along with the manservants, you brought along with you, you are also being assigned Shin Won-ho as your manservant and Kim Tae-Yeon and Chou Tzu-yu as your maids. Please proceed to your apartment"
"Next we have the Chariote Apartment, the person who will be staying there is Han Sun-Hwa. You are being assigned Lee Jong-Hyun, Jeon So-Yeon and Kwon Yu-Ri. Please proceed."
The process carried on.
"Ruby Apartment is for Hwang Yeji, You are assigned Kang Dong-Ho, Ahn Sol-Bin and An Yu-Jin. Please proceed.
"Opal Apartment. Kim Seol-Hyun. Woo Ji-Ho, Son Chae-Young, Cho Seung-Hee"
"Carnelian Apartment. Kwon Eun-Bi. Yoo Ki-Hyun, Lee Hae-in and Lee Young-Yoo"
"Amber Apartment. Choi Mi-Young. Doh Kyung-Soo, Bae Woo-He, Baek A-Yeon"
"Azurite Apartment. Kim Si-Jeong. Lee Byung-Hun, Go Woo-Ri and Park Hye-Won"
At this point, everyone had left apart from you. "Miss Seo, as you were an unexpected candidate, your apartment is still getting ready and the maids needed a few more moments, so we were trying to prolong this for as long as possible. You have been assigned Moon Jong-Up, Ahn Hye-Jin who goes by Maria or Hwa-Sa and Jun Hyo-Seong. I hope that they treat you well. To prolong this even longer as we have not received the signal that they are ready, we are going to give you a tour, are you okay with that?" The pair asked.
"Perfectly." You responded. "It would be my honour" You carried on with a smile. "Please, Lead the way". The two young men smiled at you, before moving down the stairs towards you. Suddenly, you felt incredibly nervous, these incredibly attractive young men were looking directly at you, with no signs of distate anywhere on their faces or bodies. The men took a space on either side on your, Hoseok moving his arms to point the way out of the courtyard. "Do you have a flower that you appreciate the most?" Jungkook asked "Good question Kookie" Hoseok said, the nickname making your eyes widen again, almost not expecting the men to be so close that they were using nicknames. "We might have your favourite here in one of the gardens"
"Cherry blossoms, Chief State Councillor and High Councillor. My most appreciated flower of all is Cherry Blossom." The two men share a look between each other. "That is our Gracious King's favourite, so much that he has a garden dedicated to it, coincidentally, the garden is right next to your apartment" A small gasp left your lips, the excitement evident not just on your face but on your whole body as you turned to both of them, your hands clasping together joyfully. "Really!?! Can we go there?" You asked hopefully. Both men smiled at your excited state before telling you that you could, and led the way, right to the entrance of the garden. There was a small bridge to cross before you would actually be in the park, and you ran quickly across it, accidentally forgetting about the two men behind you. You span round quickly, a giant smile on your face, trying to look everywhere at everything.
"I take it that you like the garden," a voice behind you, which you quickly identified as Hoseok, spoke. "Almost more than anything in the world," You said without thinking. Both men let out a laugh, which made you look at them with a questioning gaze. "You have almost the same reaction as the Good King". This very sentence made you stop in your spot, your face dropping, looking almost horrified to be compared to the King. "Omo, I am not worthy of being compared to our gracious King" You spoke, anxiously wringing your hands together. "My apologies Lady Seo, we didn't mean to make you anxious," Jungkook said. You noticed a young woman run up to the two men and yourself. She spoke quietly to the men, before bowing and turning away. The two men turned to you, smiling slightly "Your apartment is ready Lady Seo, let us lead you there" Hoseok said. Nodding, you spoke gently "Please do lead the way". You bow gently, allowing the men to turn around and lead the way out of the garden that you had fallen in love with, and almost didn't want to leave.
It took barely two minutes before you arrived in front of the apartment. "This is the Emerald apartment. Next to you, there is the Queen Dowager's Garden, you are not allowed to enter that space without her explicit permission" Jungkook stated sternly. "And on your other side is Lady Hwang" Hoseok finished. This made you smile, your apartments here, being closer to each other than the houses in your town were. "Lady Hwang Yeji is my best friend," You spoke gently, a small but warm smile on your face at the mention of your best friend. "We have known each other since we were born, my eomma likes to say that I have two sets of parents, both our parents raised both of us..." you paused, your smile turning into a frown "well my eomma and Yeji's parents, my appa..." you spoke again, your frown becoming bigger. "You don't need to tell us, Lady Seo" Hoseok said calmly, laying a gentle hand on your shoulder. You look up, and into the handsome man's eyes, your eyes slightly blurry with tears, making something flash in Hoseok's eyes. "I feel like I almost need to" you spoke "My appa, he used to be a good man, until he fell from grace, he lost a lot of his respect, and therefore money, and the money he did keep, he used to drink. He would blame me for his drinking, he would tell me it was my fault, that he wished it was I who died and not my sister. Before I left, he attacked me for the first time, he dragged me by my hair to the floor and yelled at me. My eomma, she's a wonderful woman, she grabbed him by the ear and dragged him out of the house once she realised he was in my room and harming me. Appa had a bruise on his ear still, when I left for the procession. My bruises still remain intact too, but when I remember what my eomma did, the fire in her eyes, I feel proud to be her descendant" You finally finished your story.
You could see anger clearly on both men's faces. "I know I need not worry about my eomma whilst I'm here, she is as fierce as the summer in the sky in the summer sky." The warm smile lay on your lips, remembering your eomma. "She sounds like a wonderful woman" Jungkook spoke, a smile that could be perceived as genuine if there were someone looking on from the outside in.
"Anyway's my Chief Councillor and High Councillor, I must leave your warm presence and settle myself into my apartments. I hope to see you soon Your Honours. May the sun warm your cheeks, and the food fills your bellies" You speak eloquently, bowing low before the two handsome men, before turning and leaving their presence to enter your apartments.
The apartment that you entered was spacious and homely. In the room stood your friends Chan and Changbin with large grins on their faces, along with your assigned manservant and maids.
"My Lady, Your room is this way, would you like me to help you redress" Hyo-Seong spoke, her hand pointing to an area separate from the room you all stood in. The room was separated from the room you were in by a wall of sliding doors. The entire apartment was decorated in green and brown, the sliding doors were made of oak, and the cloth was painted with the seal of the kingdom in the colours your apartment was named after. It was a beautiful sight to behold, and you knew that if you had any spare time, you would ask your maids to retrieve any painting items they could get a hold of so that you could show this image to your eomma when you got home again. You knew that she would take great delight in your painting, and knowing how an apartment within the royal castle looked and would love the painting even more so, knowing it came from her daughter.
"That would be lovely Miss Jun" you spoke to the woman. She nodded her head as a slight bow, walking to the room you now identified as your bedroom. In the room, there was a large box placed near the window, on top of it was a new hanbok ready for you to wear. "Would you like a bath Lady Seo?" Hyo-Seong asked. You shook your head, a feeling of exhaustion coming over you in a quick wave. "Do you think it would be possible to sleep for a short period Miss Jun?" You asked hopefully. "Unfortunately not, My Lady, there is much to do. As you have reached the second stage, you must prepare for a meeting with Queen Dowager. You will soon also be accepting gifts from the royal family, of which I am unsure, but you must prepare to receive them. We must also start preparing you for your interview, and the luncheon that is happening tomorrow. There is also a Royal Banquet that we must prepare you for. I assume you have attended a banquet before, but a royal banquet is much more different to the ones of the high class" The maid in front of you explained your schedule for the coming potential one to two weeks that you would be residing in a royal apartment.
"Very well, then we must begin," You say a small polite smile on your face. "What's first?" you ask. "First My Lady, we must dress you," she says, returning your attention back to the box that had caught your attention when you first walked into the room. You didn't recognise the hanbok, remembering all the ones that you owned. "I apologise, but this is not my hanbok," you tell your maid "No My Lady, the Queen Dowager sent this. It's the first gift from the royal family." Excitement fills your body, knowing that this was something that the Queen Dowager herself had someone make and be sent. "But only 6-7 were predicted, and I'm not the average size", you questioned slightly, the anxiety that you had felt earlier in the day returning in full force. "The Queen Dowager had this one sent specifically, it was a hanbok she had in her storage, she wore it when she was pregnant with the King. She sent a letter along with it" you were told before being handed the letter
Dear Lady Seo,
The Royal Family apologises for not having anything prepared for you. I did not have a gift prepared for you, however, your crest is a crest that has a long line, and the crest on your hanbok is a phoenix. This was my family crest before I married King Sejong, the King's late father. It was a hanbok I wore when I was pregnant with the King. I hope that it does you well, as it is now yours. Please meet me in my gardens at 3.
Sincerely,
Her Royal Highness, The Queen Dowager Kim Eun-Ji
"What time is it?" You ask loudly, waiting for anyone in the household to respond. "2:30" you hear someone yell, unsure of who it was due to the closed doors between you. You feel your face pale. Turning to your maid you speak again "We must hurry, please call Miss Ahn in, time is not on our side". The maid nods, before running the door and calling in the other woman.
Within 20 minutes, your hair had been brushed and moved into a restyled updo, behind held back with a purple dwikkoji, your under clothes being changed for cleaner ones, and then the gifted hanbok was placed onto your body. It fit almost like a glove like it was made for you. The jeogori was a gorgeous dark purple colour, decorated with golden detailing featuring a phoenix, the goreum was also in an off-gold colour. The chima was a black colour with the same golden detail. Your beoseons were black as well as your shoes which were decorated in the same gold detailing. With a few minutes to spare, your maids applied some basic makeup consisting of plant ash to apply a dark brown colour to your eyebrows, safflower was used to apply a light rouge to your lips and cheeks and cherry blossom petals took right from the very cherry blossom garden you had just been in (it was a perfume that was on the dressing table when you got here, you had just assumed it was a gift everyone received) mixed with water was used to make a delicious spelling perfume.
With exactly 10 minutes left before the Queen Dowager wanted to see you, you left your apartment, your manservant Moon Jong-Up directing you, almost acting as your guard as well as your guide. When you arrived outside the Queen Dowagers garden, which only took moments as you quickly found out was right next to your apartment, Mr Moon stepped aside to let you enter first, before following you slightly behind, allowing you to look like you had found the garden yourself.
It doesn't take long to notice the Queen Dowager, it shocked you slightly when you saw that she was wearing the same colours just the other way around. The lady in front of you turns towards you, hearing your footsteps. She waits at the top of the stairs of the Pavilion she was standing in. Once you reach the bottom of the stairs, you bow as low as possible to the elegant woman before you. "You're early Lady Seo" the woman speaks. "My apologies Your Majesty, I was excited to meet you once again." You speak, not allowing your nerves to take over your anxiety.
“Don’t be, it is a good thing for a woman to have, to have time management perfected, especially for a woman. Especially for a woman who may be the future mother of the kingdom, the future queen.” She says, her very words making you blush.
“You speak of me too highly My Queen,” you say. “I am eternally grateful for your gracious gift. The fabric is the softest thing I have ever had touch my skin. If there is anything I can do to show my thankfulness, please allow me to do it. Would you like some tea, Your Royal Highness?” you ask, noticing the teapot and teacups whilst you were looking around in nervousness.
“You need not worry Lady Seo, this is no longer a test, you do not need to pour my tea for me,” she says, her voice full of authority, before nodding slightly to a man that you almost hadn’t seen when you entered the pavilion. “You intrigue me, Lady Seo, you are so unlike the other candidates, both in looks and mentality. Most of your candidates, when I had asked them why they were doing this, responded with generic answers” she speaks “For his Royal Highness the King’s happiness, to get to know you Your Highness” she carries on, her voice changing to mimic the people she was speaking about, at the sound of her change in voice you let out a giggle, covering your mouth. “But your answer, it was different, you wanted to make your family proud. This was something I wanted when I was a candidate to marry the King's late father” she finishes, the words turning the mood serious once more. A lady, small and almost meek approached the table, taking the teapot and pouring tea into both the cups on the table, before retreating to her spot against the wall of the garden. “You have a beautiful garden My Queen,” you tell her trying to achieve the once jovial mood the pavilion had a matter of minutes ago. “I spent a few brief minutes in the cherry blossom garden, and I truly believe that it was the happiest moment of my life,” you tell her, allowing the smile to fill your face as your mind retrieves the memory you were talking of.
“The King’s favourite spot is also in the cherry blossom garden, he begged his father to plant the trees when he was still King, persuading him by telling him that he would propose to his future queen in that very garden,” the Queen Dowager tells you, allowing you a little into the past of the King, who you were yet to set eyes upon.
Before thinking, you blurt out “Were you scared when you made the application to become the late King Se-Jeong’s wife?” A few moments pass, and just as you go to open your mouth to apologise, the dowager stops you. “I was, in fact, I was terrified, to tell you the truth, I never wanted it, but I needed to do it for the pride of my family. I was lucky that I fell in love with the King eventually, and we had a good, long and happy life,” she answers with a small smile on her face, reminiscing on the memories of her past. “I actually have a few questions for you myself if you don't mind”
“It would be my honour to answer your questions My Queen” you respond, nervousness filling your body even more.
“The king is very… uh… close with his closest men. Would that be a problem with you?” she starts. “Of course not, if our Great King is happy, then I myself shall be happy,” you respond, hoping your answer satisfies her. She nods, with a small hum of approval.
“And concubines? What are your opinions on the concubines?” she continues her questioning.
You pause, this was something you had thought about. “Well My Queen, I have a feeling that if I was ever to become Queen, the other two candidates that would have gotten through, would be my school bullies-” the queen cuts you off after hearing of your bullies “Your bullies are in the palace?” She questions with an eyebrow raised.
“Yes Your Highness, Kim Seol-Hyun and Kwon Eun-Bi, their apartments are Carnelian and Opal if I remember correctly”, the Queen Dowager nods again. “So what would you do if you became Queen and them the concubines?” She asks, her interest even more peaked.
“Part of me would want to through them into the dungeons like they had threatened they would do with me earlier today. Another part of me would want all of the king's concubines gone but the biggest part of me wants the King to be happy, and if the concubines make My Great King happy, then I shall live with the concubines.” The Queen Dowager looks almost shocked. “The Kings happiness, at the end of the day, will always be my source of happiness, whether I get through to the final round, or I don’t. The King, from what I have heard in rumours spread across cities and towns, near and far, is that when the King is happy, the land thrives, and the people are well. My family are part of his people, and as well as making them proud, I desperately want them to be happy… even my father.” you tell her.
“Your father?"

Ayo avatar Au
Fire Bender Choi Jong-In, Water Bender Baek Yoon-Ho, Air Bender Cha Hae-In, Earth bender Ma DongWook.
Jin-Woo gets avatar pointsfor being MC, although if he wasn't the chosen one then being an air bender would work for him too.
(Omg AU idea ofhim being the avatar but never being trained as one until one day he gets to find this dancing girl, he is so impressed by her moves that he copies them and its at that point when he learns about his air bending abilities, and also about the dancing girl being the last one of the air nomad tribes to have survived the fallout. She had been sheltered by a Fire bender family, Jong-In who hated his own nation but they both stayed quiet about it as he planned to throw a coup. When he gets news of the avatar, he send Hae-In away with him so that the both of them can be safe and that they can come back stronger than before to finally end the reign of the Lord Antares.
Baek Yoon Ho agrees to help them due to having been safed by Il Hwang in the past and now wants to repay that with his son. Min Byung-Gyu is also a water bender that knows more healing than attacking.
I think Jin-Ho and Jin-Chul would be the most likely to not have bending abilities, yet they would repay with other kinds of skills like engineering or being skilled at some sort of martial arts.
Heck Goto might be a retired swordsman.
Ju-Hee, Song Yi, and Sooyoung are kyoshi warriors.
kjtdhhjffj Tank is Appa, Hae-In probbly gets a wing lemur that she names Kaisel!

LOCATION: Benny and Duke's WITH: @deanchaiyachet
Despite being reprimanded by his father repeatedly in his childhood, it seemed Hyun Woo never learned to be competitive. Maybe that was why his brother was the one with the business acumen and he was the one more suited to being behind the scenes. An arrangement that suited him perfectly. However, that lack of competitiveness did not necessarily keep him from trying his hardest in meaningless challenges, like arcade games that he had last played when he was a child. “You should have a handicap,” he complained with little seriousness as he was getting absolutely obliterated at Street Fighter for the third time in a row. As if the single-handed game play for Dean wasn't enough of a hindrance. The game ended with a miserable score on Hyun Woo’s end and he straightened with a feigned disappointment. “I really was the best player of my friends.” Though maybe that was more a testament to how poorly they played than how skilled he was. Either way, he couldn’t lie that he appreciated the distraction. “Okay one last time, this time you play with your left hand only, while balancing on one foot.” A ridiculous ( and obviously joking... ) suggestion from a man who was now discovering his competitiveness. It would come as a sad shock to Seong Byung Ho that all he would have had to do to kick start his younger son's competitive spirit was introduce him to video games earlier on in life.

BECAUSE THIS IS MY FIRST LIFE // KDRAMA DİZİ YORUMU
UYARI : Yazılar genel olarak spoiler içerebilir. İçermeyedebilir.
İmdb puanı: 8,1 Benim puanım: 8
Drama: Because This Is My First Life / This Life Is Our First
Hangul: 이번 생은 처음이라
Director: Park Joon-Hwa
Writer: Yoon Nan-Joong
Date: 2017
Language: Korean
Country: South Korea
Cast: Lee Min-Ki, Jung So-Min, Kim Min-Kyu
Tam bir “Slice of life “diyebileceğimiz sakin bir dizi.

Doctor Cha (2023)
Tumblr media
I got a fever, and the only prescription is more melodramas!
I usually hate love triangles, but it wasn’t so bad with this show. I think it helped that the entire premise was so unbelievable that I was able to just sit back and embrace the chaos.
What Worked
The show did a great job at letting you know what you were in for right from the first episode—an over the top, unrealistic situation with fun characters. The entire plot was building towards this dramatic train wreck where the protagonist (who was almost too good to be true) hit the final straw, and gave the terrible husband and mother-in-law exactly what they deserved. And that whole part of the story was completely engrossing.
What Didn’t Work
The writers didn’t bungle the ending, I still liked it, but I think they played it a little safe. All of the messed up relationships that were causing the delicious drama wrapped up on mostly good terms. That’s a nice story in a way, but I don’t think it was as cathartic.
Still, it’s a better story than real life, where men like the cheating husband often end up prospering, without really learning their lesson.
The Performances
Uhm Jung-hwa as “Doctor Mom” Cha Jeong-suk. I first saw this actress in “Our Blues” and I really liked her in that. Though the writing in this show isn’t quite as good, her performance in this show was just as good and even better in some respects. Really fun to watch this actress at work.
Kim Byung-chul as “Dirty Cheating Doctor” Seo In-ho. His character was supposed to be both pathetic and hate-able and the actor hit the brief very well. A lot of the charm in this show was watching him get his just desserts and suffer, while still being an unrepentant jerk.
It’s not exactly hate watching when the show clearly wants you to hate him. The fact that I never got tired of watching him, shows just how good his acting was.
Myung Se-bin as “Lady Cheating Doctor” Choi Seung-hee. This actor had a tough job to do. The writers kept shifting her motivation and relationships around and overall she did a good job making it work. I think her best scenes were with Eun-Seo, but she was still okay to watch overall.
Min Woo-hyuk as “The Good Doctor” Roy Kim. I enjoyed his performance. It was fun watching him go in and ruffle everyone’s feathers by being a good guy who doesn’t take anyone’s nonsense. I think his arc mostly peaked early though and he was less interesting towards the end of the series.
Song Ji-ho as “Doctor Son” Seo Jung-min. He had some great comic moments and I enjoyed watching his relationship with the girlfriend. It did take some time for him to really get interesting, though.
Jo Ah-ram as “Doctor Girlfriend” Jeon So-ra. I loved this character. I really enjoyed her relationships with both Jeong-suk and Jung-min.
Baek Joo-hee as “Doctor Bestie” Baek Mi-hee. A good example of how a good actor can make even a side character interesting. I especially liked the episode where she helped Yi-rang after she got in a fight.
Park Joon-geum as “The Worst Mother-in-Law” Kwak Ae-sim. I really disliked this character. Which means she did a good job because that was exactly what I was supposed to feel.
Kim Mi-kyung as “The Best Omma” Oh Deok-rye. She’s played a role like this so many times and yet I never get tired of seeing her because she still keeps it from being boring or repetitive. A national treasure.
Lee Seo-yeon as “The Good Daughter” Seo Yi-rang. She did a good job with the role she was given and had some great moments, but there were times when she disappeared in a scene. Pretty good overall though.
So A-rin as “The Best Daughter” Choi Eun-seo. They played it like she was some kind of emotionally unstable child in the first few episodes, which was unfortunate because the character was actually one of the most interesting and honest characters in the show. And she was mistreated by everyone.
The show was at its best when they let this actor loose, and I was really impressed by her performance.
Everyone Else. The show did have a few good moments for its minor characters, but most of the time they weren’t memorable or doing anything important.
TL; DR:
This is a show made for people who like melodramas. If you’re able to turn off the nitpicking part of your brain and enjoy the ride, it’s pretty dang fun.

Random Solo Leveling Next Gen OC Brainrot Pt. 1
Some of them may have been mentioned before, but I wanted to elaborate on them a bit more
This part's about the three oldest kids: Choi Je-Ni, Baek Seok-Jin, and Hoshino Taiyo They're very much my favorites
(Parents of each OC are in the pinned post)
Choi Je-Ni has the same "Eyes of the Beasts" power that Baek Yoon-Ho has and the sharpest senses in the family
Choi Je-Ni has a state similar to Baek Yoon-Ho where her flames (and hair) become white and can be as strong as an S-Rank, but it uses a lot of mana
Baek Seok-Jin pretends to be easygoing almost all the time but is actually the opposite. He pretends though since he knows he comes across as intimidating (like Baek Yoon-Ho) if he doesn't
Choi Je-Ni's hair was similar to her brother's when she was younger but got darker and resembled Choi Jong-In's more as she got older
Hoshino Taiyo and Choi Je-ni were friends as kids but had a falling out as teenagers
Excluding their parents, Choi Je-Ni is closest to Min Byung-Gyu while Baek Seok-Jin is closest to Cha Hae-In. Eunseok is a close second for both of them because they're best friends with his son
Hoshino Taiyo spends a lot of time with the Draw Swords but tends to stick to Goto Ryuji the most (very open to headcanons with the Draw Swords since I don't have very many about them)
Hoshino Taiyo lives in Japan most of the year but visits Lim Tae-Gyu in Korea for two to three months out of the year
Baek Seok-Jin hates it when people don't believe him when he's actually serious and tends to distance himself from such people (and gets into arguments with his parents about it, mostly Choi Jong-In). Choi Je-Ni is the only one who always believes him when he is
While Choi Je-Ni and Seok-Jin don't look very much alike even though they're twins (that's probably because of my drawing style though-), they have the same eyes (Choi Jong-In's eye color)
