How to Play
Fill out this form and we'll email you your shiny bingo card. Every card is a shuffled assortment of prompts that will look something like this:
Below are all the rules you should know about before you join.
General Rules
We're sure you are familiar with the rules of bingo, but just to be certain everyone is on the same page, to get a bingo you must fill five prompts in a row. That row can be vertical, horizontal, or diagonal. Fill all the prompts on your card and that's a blackout!
Get as creative with your kisses as you want but they MUST BE A FIRST KISS between Obi-Wan and Cody in some capacity.
Prompt fills should be new works, meaning that they should not be part of an ongoing work-in-progress. Sequels and prequels to already-finished works are welcome!
Posting Dates
Participants have the entire month of December to post bingo fills! Sign up around the time of this announcement and you will have a two month creation window before December 1st rolls around.
You can either post to our collection on ao3 and/or on tumblr but we do ask that you please tag us @codywanfirstkissbingo AND tag your post with #CWFKB2023 as we don’t want to miss anyone if tumblr drops the ball.
If you’re posting on AO3 but want us to reblog your fill, please make a Tumblr post with the link and make sure to @ us and tag your post with #CWFKB2023. We’ll be checking the collection when tracking fills and making round-up posts with bingos and blackouts, but we will not be cross-posting every individual fill on AO3 ourselves if the creator has not made a tumblr post.
Please include a screenshot of your bingo tag with the prompt fill indicated so we know which square you’ve filled!
Specific Rules
Fic: 100 words minimum per prompt fill. To be clear, the kiss itself does not have to last 100 words, though we'd be delighted to see that.
Art: One drawing per fill (digital or traditional). Different drawings can be on the same canvas/page if you so wish. Go wild with your compositions.
Podfic: Same requirements as fic. You can collaborate with someone writing a fic specifically for the event or find an existing fic that fills your prompt.
Fanmix: One song per fill- we'd love to see what songs give you codywan first kiss vibes. Try to match lyrics to your prompt but instrumental songs are cool too.
Other: Send an ask with your inquiry! We're more than happy to discuss expanding the fanwork pool to maximize creativity.
Ratings
You can post any work with any rating, but please abide by the appropriate rating/archive warning/tags on AO3 when posting there. When posting on tumblr, please warn for potentially triggering content in the tags and the header to the post, so readers can filter as needed. Anything spicy or explicit should go under a read-more tag, and please use a read-more tag if you’re posting a fic that is longer than a drabble (100 words) to be considerate of people’s dashboard feeds.
To help make this event a safe one for Codywan fans with any kind of photosensitivity, we do specifically request that you tag any and all flashing imagery with #flashing. If you're unsure what constitutes flashing, please see this article, or err on the side of caution for any image with: moving stripes or checkered patterns; strobe light, lightning, or explosion effects in any image or video; images of flickering light/sunlight on leaves/water; very fast cuts between images in a gif or video; rapidly moving images in an animation or gif set that stop and start or “stutter;” sparkle text or similar moving text effects; and images in an animation, gifset, or video that are in high color contrast to each other (for example, a gif set that cuts pink Barbie gifs with black & white Oppenheimer gifs to create a fast-moving contrast between the two styles.)
The CWFKB mods' decision is final on whether your post/entry requires a flashing warning; they will contact you to ask you to update your tags if you haven’t already noted in your tumblr or AO3 post that your fill contains #flashing content. If you are not willing to use the flashing tag, even after being contacted by the mods, the mods have the right to decide that under-tagged flashing fills will be disqualified from the event.
Finally– with exceptions for the NSFW or #spicy and #flashing tags on tumblr– you have the right to choose not to warn readers in accordance with AO3’s “choose not to warn” option, but posters whose tags or ratings are deceptive or misleading versus the actual content may have their fills disqualified.
When in doubt, please contact the mods! The mods will contact you about any fill where the tags and ratings raise this concern, with a request that you revise and update your tags and warnings.
Combining Prompts
This is a low stakes event and we just want people to have fun! If you want to combine prompts that's totally fine, but we ask that you give each fill its own scene within the larger work. This means there should be a separate kiss for each prompt, even if the 'scene' is a series of types of kisses all in a row.
Swapping Prompts
Nearly have a bingo but there's that one pesky prompt in your way you don't vibe with? Go ahead and swap it with another prompt on your card. As all the prompts are randomly selected and not handpicked for participants; we understand there's a chance some of the prompts may not inspire you so we allow ONE and only ONE SWAP PER CARD. Use it carefully if you need it!

Any medium of work is acceptable, from fic to fanart, videos to gifsets, as long as there’s a focus on his birthday where possible. If that’s not possible and you just wanna make something out of appreciation for TK as a character, that’s great too! It still counts! Anything at all you’d like to create to mark the occasion of TK Strand’s 30th birthday. (Also any genre is fine. Give us birthday fluff. Give us gritty birthday angst. Give us birthday smut 👀)
Although TK’s birthday is canonically in December, I thought it might be nice to give ourselves three months to the day to work on our pieces, meaning they will be posted on November 7th, which in fact is Ronen Rubinstein’s 30th birthday! I thought this might be a nice little way to mark our appreciation for both Ronen and TK.

Hello Fate Fandom!
Can you believe it's been a whole year since our last Holiday Exchange? We are so glad to read, watch, and otherwise enjoy all the works you've made so far this year.
We are hosting another Holiday Exchange to share our immense love for the show and our community, so check out the details below the cut!
The Holiday Exchange is officially started. It works like a secret santa: You receive something, but you also have to gift something.
You will fill in a form telling us what you want to be gifted and what you're willing to give. We (the winxsource team) will match you up with someone with similar preferences and send you the details for you to make your gift. All of this is a secret, so you’ll only reveal who you’re gifting once posting begins.
All gifts will be exchanged/posted between 26th and 30th of December.
You can make or choose to receive a fic, a fanart, gifset or fan video.

As a matter of fairness, if you're writing a fic, please make your story at least 1000 words, a gifset at least 2 gifs long, or a video at least 1 minute long.
Please note that this is an exchange for fictional characters, not real people fiction (RPF).
Remember this is a secret, so once you get your assignment, you’re welcome to contact the person you’ll be gifting as long as you do it on anonymous. Part of the fun is trying to guess who’s doing a gift for you, after all.
If you sign up for the event but something happens that you can't produce the gift in time, you must contact us and let us know so we can find someone else to make the gift in your place.
Two weeks before Christmas we'll reveal the posting schedule, so please only post your gift on the assigned day so no one gets overwhelmed with content!

Heads up, bug tumblr. I made the mistake of reblogging a stolen gifset here. The original gifset is by @eppysboys and linked in the notes.
A quick scroll of the account with the stolen gifset shows other Beatles gifsets that look reposted. The latest one posted today is a repost of a gifset I’ve seen on my dash a few times this week. (If you recognize who’s gifset it is, please let me know.) This one has gifs from @mccartneyiii, as shown by the lower righthand watermarks.
This is super shitty. Giffing is a skill, and creating gifsets is a lot of work. Gifmakers deserve the same respect as any artists in fandom. You don’t repost someone else’s fanfic, drawing, or fanvid as if it’s your own. If you try, you get called out as a thief. Same here.
Basic fandom etiquette.
I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. Maybe the person is new and doesn’t know how tumblr or fandom works. Well, then they need to show they understand their mistake and intend to make amends: stop reposting, apologize, delete all stolen content, and learn how to reblog.
When confronted in the notes, the user replied “no copyright public domain.”
This is foolish. Fandoms don’t live and die by copyright, that’s the world of commerce and money. Fandoms live and die by people’s willingness to devote their time and energy to create things and share them in fannish spaces. To steal another person’s work and claim it as your own is a slap in the face to all fan creators. The only thing worse is showing no remorse. Tumblr recognizes this, which is why they have a system for reporting reposts. More than 3 reported reposts can get an account deleted.
If you’re a gifmaker, I suggest looking through the blog’s archive to see if your gifset has been stolen and report anything you find. If you notice someone else’s gifset, please let them know.
If you’re like me and accidentally reblogged a stolen gifset, delete your reblog or add text to identify the post as stolen art such as “This is a stolen gifset” and add a link to the original if you know it such as “Please reblog the original” to discourage similar accidents.
Blanket PSA to newbies out there: Learn how to reblog. You like a post of George? Great! Reblog it to tell the poster thanks for making this and to share it with others. Add a tag to react or say why you like it or what you think about it or to simply free write. Have fun, the space is yours. Chatter around created things is a big part of what makes fandom thrive. Each post is like a campfire, grab your favorite snack and a chair and join us.

What is a Reverse Bang?
Artists will create one or more piece(s) of art. Authors will then claim it and write a fic based on the art. A beta will look over the fic. It’s a fun type of event that can lead to great collaborations!
Rules
We, the mods, understand there are a lot of differing opinions in the fandom.
However, there will be absolutely no character or ship hate allowed.
Anyone bad-mouthing a character or ship; engaging in bad faith discussions about a character or ship will receive one warning. If the behavior continues, the participant(s) will be removed from this event and banned from participating in future events.
Please note: critically engaged and thoughtful discussions are permitted. We define bad faith discussions as when someone is arguing for the sake of arguing or has no interest in understanding a viewpoint other than their own. Bad faith discussions do not include being unable to convince someone to completely agree with you.
You’re able to do as you want within your art and fics, but there will be no bad-mouthing any participants over fictional characters and ships. If there is any harassment of a participant in any way, you will be banned from this fest and any future events.
All prompts will have a clearly stated “DO NOT WANT” section so artists can list their preferences and authors can claim accordingly.
This is an 18+ event - no minors permitted
Participants of all levels are welcome, you don’t need prior writing or art experience! All characters and all ships are allowed.
No whitewashing is allowed.
On Discord, you can find resources for this. If you’re not part of the server but would like access to the material, reach out to us via email.
You can sign up as an artist, writer, and/or as a beta. Please be conscious of what you’re able to take on. If you realize you’ve overcommitted or something comes up that will make it difficult for you to participate as planned, please contact the mods at [email protected] as soon as possible.
Requirements
Artists
Artists will complete at least one piece of finished art for the Reverse Bang. Art must be 50% completed at claims, February 25th.
Your art must be able to be shared digitally.
What we will accept: drawing, cross-stitch, sculpting, and anything similar, go wild! Comics are allowed, but please leave it open for your author to create a story.
What we will not accept: photosets, gifsets, playlists, and similar work.
If you’re in doubt, message one of our social media accounts and ask! We’re happy to help.
Important deadlines for artists:
February 25th: Art submissions, art is 50% completed
March 11th: Claims
April 1st: first check-in
May 6th: second check-in
June 3rd: Posting starts
Authors
Writers will complete one story, minimum 5,000 words, inspired by the artwork they selected. There is no maximum word count, but your work must be a complete, standalone work. This means readers do not have to read another fic to understand your Reverse Bang fic.
Stories must be beta read. You may find your own beta or use the list provided in event information available after the Reverse Bang begins.
For multichapter works, staggered posting will be allowed. More information will be available in event information.
After the Reverse Bang is over, you’re welcome to expand on the story, such as with a sequel.

April 1st: first check-in
May 6th: second check-in

Claims
Claims will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
All writers will list at least three options when submitting in order of preference, with 1 being your top choice.
While we’ll try and find matches for everyone, we unfortunately cannot guarantee that your art gets matched. Whether or not your art gets matched or not, it will be welcome in the AO3 collection.
A second round of claims will take place, if necessary.
All prompts will have a Do Not Want section, this section must be respected, so keep that in mind when claiming. If your fic is in violation of the specified DNW’s, it will not be allowed in the AO3 collection.
Uploading
Both fic and art must be uploaded to AO3 in a collection.
How you post–-together or separate—is up to the artist and the writer. However, since this is a collaborative event, we do suggest that you post the art inline with the text and list both artist and writer as authors.
An alternative, should the author and artist be more comfortable posting separately, link the fic and art using the “Inspired by X work” function.
As a default, betas must be credited, unless your beta reader does not want to be listed.
The AO3 Archive Warnings are mandatory. If you fail to use these tags appropriately, one of the mods will contact you and work with you to address this issue. Failure to make changes to your tags or no response to a mod’s initial message will result with your work being excluded from the collection.
In general, use common sense—if you want to avoid spoilers, consider choosing the “Choose Not To Use Archive Warnings” option and writing a summary of the chapter/fic in the author’s note at the end.
If you’re in doubt when tagging, the mods are more than happy to help.
Snippets of art
To maintain a bit of suspense surrounding the fest, please don’t share your art outside of the OFMD RB Discord server before claims.

You’re free to share small portions of the fic on your social media, a few hundred words at most, but please ensure that the artist is the first to read it—this is based on their art.

Event Communication
The primary communication method for participants is through email. All assignments and important information will be sent on email.
Questions and comments can also be sent to Twitter, Tumblr, Pillowfort, and through the Discord server, which you’ll get access to once you sign up. Participation in the Discord is entirely optional!
Also, be aware that Tumblr likes to eat asks, so contacting us via DMs or through another platform is a safer bet.

A - Ships that you currently like a lot. its obvious that im in a grimm fixation rn, so i have to say nick/monroe as a romantic ship (or nick/monroe/rosalee), and the whole gang as a platonic relationship. For SGA, i'm always a mcshep fan but i honestly enjoy any pairing of AR1. Anyone that has followed me for an extended period of time knows that im a mcdanno (H50) and leverage ot3 truther as well.

Z - Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go! im so cranky rn about the lack of depiction of trauma/mental illness/neurodivergence/etc in fandoms where its to be expected. like with Grimm rn, you give Nick PTSD and sensory enhancements but then suddenly forget about them?? that's not how that works! Or why is it always just hinted at that characters are ND? why is it so hard to just be like 'yeah no x has ADHD (or whatever)'? i want to be able to actually have complex/tough/interesting/etc protags that are ALSO neurodiverse. if we're all reading John as having ADHD (SGA) or Parker being autistic (leverage) anyways, why can't these things just be intentionally part of the character

Stock photos. With enough imaginations, lots of things can be whumpy. It's like using a filter but with your brain.

I literally just had to read about how Rhaenyra is worth caring about because she’s ‘whole and alive’ compared to Alicent’s ‘bitter old ghost’ like PLEASE can people not analyse these characters through such a misogynistic lens that suggests Alicent is less than a real woman for being so feminine coded and not having the privilege or power to burn her way out (also think this does a disservice to Rhaenyra’s struggles too)

Is it not exhausting to be hating on her all the time? Would it not be more fun to just consider the context we have been given with scenes between young Alicent and Rhaenyra, step out of the heteronormative/"I need to simplify everything and find the antagonist (preferably female, idk why though)" bubble and acknowledge that Alicent is not "just so fucking bitter and for what? move on, girl" solely out of spite or BecAusE shE hAs noThiNg GoInG oN but because she's a complex and (so far) possibly the most well-written character on the show? There are so many layers to her! Yes, she is a ghost of her former self but still with so much substance, she makes this conflict all the more interesting.
It's like people who say these things re so blinded by the set-up rivalry and cheering their chosen side on, and being in the right (when no monarch or noble can be blameless the moment they partake in war and overall, it's not Tumblr, it's Westeros????) that they completely miss out on how misogynistic they come off as in this pursuit of... explaining why Alicent is BIG EVOL.
Both are worth caring about, why can't they grasp that? Ignore the fact that it's a show for a second, assume it's an actual historical conflict with one leading woman on each side. We have the context and yes they both do terrible things but they have been manipulated into their positions by various circumstances and they are each other's equals on that level. They are victims. Rhaenyra is not as happy/complete as it may seem right now, either (just my opinion). She just has better support, for now. Both are dealing with an oppressive system and their own traumas in their own respective ways. You are completely correct that that is doing Rhaenyra a disservice. She's not stronger than Alicent, she just had to face different circumstances. Both are extremely strong but also extremely damaged.
Yesterday I posted about how I am yet to see Team Green being as virulent as Team Black stans can get (let's be real, especially towards Alicent) but took it down because someone called me 'willfully blind', suggesting that Team Green stans act in similar manner. I thought, fair, I haven't seen anything of that nature yet but that doesn't mean it's not true. Better not add to the already miserable bout of dramas.
But I scroll the Alicent, Rhaenicent, other such tags and amongst all the pretty gifsets and interesting takes there is just so much fucking vitriol. Now let me preface this by saying, I have nothing against running jokes or takes about characters being wrong and/or deserving to be punished for something but... it's not even just takes at this point, people prance around saying that this specific woman deserves to be "put down" and should have been "beheaded several times" and Idk it just doesn't really say "jokes" or "lighthearted fandom banter" to me. Like are y'all good? I can't imagine it being fun to hate one specific character so much given the amount of interesting traits and nuances they harbour.
I haven't been in the GOT fandom before but I have been told that similar nonsensical dramas would spark up over there frequently, maybe I'm just not used to it.
*Also hot take but I think if people dared to actually acknowledge the intensity of the bond between Rhaenyra and Alicent when they were younger + the loneliness and abuse Alicent has endured, they would have an easier time understanding why she is a "bitter ghost".

PSA: Please stop saving and re-uploading gifs!
I understand that we have an embarrassment of riches in this fandom when it comes to content creation and many of us want to keep things to revisit again and again. As a content creator, I can say that I want you to look at my sets over and over, as many times as you’d like! I’m always happy to see others getting excited about the beautiful creations in this fandom, but when you save someone else’s gif and re-upload it, you are discrediting the work the creator put into making that gif. Creating content for a fandom becomes far less appealing when your work is, for all intents and purposes, being stolen.
Seeing gifs being saved/uploaded in the tag (both with and without credit) is incredibly disheartening. Content creators put a lot of time and effort into their work, and to see others claiming said work as their own/grouping things with work from other creators is hard. On a technical note, re-saving gifs and re-uploading them lessens the overall quality. I want the gifs I make to be viewed how I choose to upload them – e.g., at the highest possible quality, within a specific set or post, potentially grouped with other gifs in a similar style. On another note entirely (a more important one): when you re-post gifs out of their original context, it completely takes the creator out of the equation. Point blank: you are plagiarizing unless you have express permission from the creator to re-upload them.
If you are looking to use a specific gif, the Tumblr gif library has extensive search features of every gif uploaded to the site – please utilize it. Rather than re-posting someone else’s gifs, try requesting the set you’d like to see from a content creator/source blog or reblogging a set you like with commentary/tags instead. If you absolutely must save/re-upload someone else’s gif, try to get permission and please give proper credit where it’s due. Reblog the post no matter what, but also link back to the gifset you saved your gif from/@-mention the content creator in your new post. Someone took time out of their day (and potentially money out of their wallet, depending on what software they use to make their content) to create a thing that you enjoy enough to want to post on your own blog. Make sure they are credited for their work and get the attention they deserve.
TL;DR: please stop saving and re-uploading gifs as your own. In the long run, doing this will only lessen the amount of content you see created for the fandom.

Hi there! I just want to make sure you know that I am not the same creator of that gifset, but I can definitely explain how this person made that gifset.
This is the Natasha gifset, as you can see it’s gorgeous.
Before I begin I want to start by saying it’s totally fine to take inspiration from other gifs, to see something that someone has done and replicate it in your own way. With giffing, at the end of the day, we’re all using the same source material, the same amount of scenes and minutes of screen time to create something so there are going to be similarities in gifs across the same fandom.
However, it is never okay to steal someone’s gifs and repost them as your own, nor is it okay to directly and blatantly copy someone’s gifset frame for frame to post even if you make the gifs yourself.
Copying to learn a technique is fine so long as that gifset stays in your drafts or stays in your groupchat.
It is always a good idea to give credit where credit is due when giffing, in that if you use a text post/tweet/a specific set of graphics or theme, to credit the person you got the idea from by linking back to where you got it.
I’m assuming you’re asking specifically about the third gif. The process is going to be similar to the one I detailed here, however the gif on the left has either a grayscale or black and white filter on it, or you can even open a Hue/Sat layer and take out as much saturation as you want. It all depends on the look you’re going for!
The gif on the right has cyan added to it, whether they did that with a brush or layers idk and I’m not going to try to recreate it exactly, so if you want to know for sure I recommend asking them. But I can show you a similar process with Photopea, which is what I’m assuming you’re wanting (although to be completely honest I primarily use Photoshop now😂😭)/
Lately in my own gifs I’ve been doing blend types other than Lighten (like Screen for example), and this kind of looks like that but I could be wrong! Again, it all just depends on what kind of look you want, the vibe or aesthetic you’re going for.
The tutorial I make for you will use Lucas from Stranger Things S4 because that is the only live action on my hard drive at the moment😂😭
I mainly gif anime now (anime sideblog: @icythot-bakubitch) and I could absolutely do a tutorial with it but it won’t come out the same as what you’re wanting to see.
This tutorial is made on the basis that you already know 1) how to make a gif 2) how to make overlays and 3) have a good sense of familiarity with photopea/photoshop.

Please remember that this gif is made with Photopea and not Photoshop, so there is going to be a deficit in quality compared to the set you’ve shown me. Your quality will come out much better if you’re able to use Photoshop.
Basically all I really did was add a Black and White layer to the bottom gif, making adjustments to keep as much quality as possible and adjusting the brightness to my taste. The original gif is already pretty dark, I probably should have picked something else but for a tutorial I’m not that pressed.
On the top gif, I used Selective Color and Hue/Sat to change the cyan of his background to purple.
Using a soft round brush I cleaned up their faces and got rid of any parts of the background that I felt was too distracting.
Attached below is a side by side of the original and recolor respectively, and then a screenshot of my layers.
Again, this is my way of doing things. It’s going to look different from someone else’s. Focus on finding a style that you like and that works for you. Just because a style of giffing is popular or something a lot of people are doing doesn’t mean that you have to do that.
I’m sure there are better or more efficient ways of doing things as well! And there isn’t one set way of doing things, this is not a be all end all of doing overlays or giffing.
If you have questions regarding the Natasha set more specifically, I highly recommend asking the creator personally. All I’m doing is explaining the recoloring process when it comes to overlay gifs as it applies to Photopea.

There’s been a lot of reposters in the Harringrove/Billy fandom lately so please watch out when you’re reblogging gifs.
If you see a gifset that looks like it’s comprised of various different sizes and colors (as in the colors don’t go together and they look like they were made by different people) chances are they’ve been resposted.

You can also usually tell when you go to a person’s blog how they tag. Creators on tumblr almost always have a tag so you can find their edits/gifs easier and will usually have a link on their home page (or somewhere in their navigation) to get to those.

a tag on my gifs to show that it’s mine 👇
If you don’t see something similar to this on a blog and you see the person posting gifs there’s a good chance they’re stolen. (some creators will use a tag like * or ** or ~ or something else that isn’t super obvious but they will almost always have a tag and a link to that tag)

The blogs I have listed below have been reposting gifs. Please do not reblog from them and if possible delete anything you have reblogged from them because it’s taking credit away from the original creators who deserve it.
Making gifs and edits can often take a really long time and a lot of work and no matter what the people who put in the effort to create these things we get to enjoy (mostly for free) at least deserve to not see their work stolen and credited to someone else. If we want to keep seeing amazing creations on this site we need to support the people who are actually taking the time to make things.
Most of these people have their ask/message option turned off and tumblr has effectively eliminated the ability to report this kind of stealing so this is the only way we can try and call out this kind of behavior.

It’s been a year since our last Holiday Exchange and what a year!
In these past 12 months, we’ve gotten loads of behind the scenes, a whole new season and the devastating news of the cancellation. It’s been a wild ride!
Well, no better time than now to host another Holiday Exchange. Let’s take this moment to share our immense love for the show, but also to gift each other.
The Holiday Exchange is officially started. It works like a secret santa: You receive something, but you also have to gift something.
You will fill in a form telling us what you want to be gifted and what you're willing to give. We (the winxsource team) will match you up with someone with similar preferences and send you the details for you to make your gift, all of this is a secret, so you’ll only reveal who you’re gifting once posting begins.
All gifts will be exchanged/posted between 26th and 30th of December.
You can make or choose to receive a fic, a fanart, gifset or fan video.
