Hi hope you are having a good day
I wanted to know what would it be like if, Mihawk, Shanks and Buggy had a female s/o that was basically like inosuke from demon slayer, they are a bit dumb but will pick a fight with everyone, and they only wear a bandaged top with like shorts or smt.
You guys have been asking me lots of questions and making me feel loved so here is this!!! (And maybe more spicy things to come later this week 👀)
Characters: female reader x Mihawk, Shanks, Buggy Wordcount: 850 CW: the last bullet point in all of them that are a little spicy
She’s Kinda Stupid, but…
Mihawk
This man is literally so tired. He’s so tired.
Will very often say things like “I didn’t know I was in charge of three children.” (yes Perona and Zoro are his CHILDREN okay) or “Are you acting your age today, or are we pretending you’re six years old again?” or “I’ve met dogs more behaved than you.” (it’s all coming from a place of love and he knows you won't take offense because you don’t take offense to anything)
You’re a brat and he knows it (and loves it). He loves you but god you are so much work when the two of you are out in public. He feels like he can’t take his eyes off you or you’ll end up in a fight with some random guy because he looked at you funny.
Most of the time he doesn’t acknowledge your shenanigans. When you fight with someone, he’ll grab your wrist and physically pull you away from them, usually with some kind of snide remark.
Sometimes you’re justified, though. And when that happens, he gives the guy who wronged you five seconds to apologize before he sets you loose. Most of the time the guy sees Mihawk and apologizes, but the swordsman secretly hopes the guy won't apologize. And on the few occasions they don't apologize, he smirks as he releases you.
He always has to pull you off the guy because you just don't know when to stop. In all truthfulness, it kind of gets him hot and bothered, but he always pretends to be irritated. “You’re psychotic. Do I need to teach you how to behave?” he scolds, his gold eyes scanning your body. “I can think of a few ways to get you to listen.”
Shanks
Shanks adores you. Cheers you on. Loves watching you cause absolute chaos. Why? Because you are him without a conscience.
Shanks knows when he needs to flip the switch from polite to fight, but you don’t. You are always at 100%, your most authentic self 24/7. And he absolutely adores that about you. Even if that means that sometimes you take it a bit too far.
Sometimes Shanks will even use your emotions to his advantage. “Can you believe that guy just did that?!” or “Talk about rude!” knowing full well you’re ready to throw down whoever wronged you or him.
The absolute only time that Shanks will stop you from fighting someone is when you all are in a building. He’s had to pay SO MANY owners back for you destroying glassware and furniture and plenty of other damaged goods. You learned pretty quickly that the first words out of your mouth should be “Wanna take this outside?!” because if you were outside then Shanks didn’t stop you.
The first few fights, he watched carefully, making sure he would be able to jump in if he needed to. The next couple of fights, he watched you with an amused look, excited to see how you were going to beat up the guy (and just to make sure you would win). Nowadays, he doesn’t even feel the need to go outside with you, but sometimes he does just to cheer you on.
After your victory, he always rewards you with a bunch of kisses and sings your praises. He pulls you onto his lap at the bar, making sure everyone knows you're his. “You did so well. I loved how you stomped that guy into the dirt,” he’ll coo, dotting kissing across your neck. “How about later I show you just how proud I am of you, okay?”
Buggy
You never cease in stressing this man out. He is always on high alert now because of you.
Stealth missions? Forget it. Normal day in town? Absolutely not. He BEGS you to be a normal human being in public. To have an ounce of self preservation. But you cannot comprehend that. People who talk shit deserve to get hit.
He is constantly running after you, screaming at you to stop fighting people for no reason. Sometimes he’ll even jump in front of your punches to try and de-escalate it (which of course doesn’t work and results in you just punching him in the face). You don’t even feel bad, you just scream at him to get out of the way and beat up the other guy even more since he made you hurt your boyfriend.
If anyone makes fun of him, he doesn’t even have a chance to scream at them anymore. You’re already pounding their face into the ground. And every time you do, he falls in love with you a little bit more.
“That’s right, that’s my baby!” he screams, watching you smugly walk away from some guy’s beaten body. “Let’s go celebrate, you can do whatever you want.” He grabs your hand, practically pulling you back to the ship.

For full headcanons: What do you think a lazy day with the M6 would look like? Say that somehow MC and their love interest have a free day all to themselves to just relax.
The Arcana HCs: Lazy Days with M6
Julian
He's been looking forward to this. Did he tell you that he would try to sleep in? Maybe. Does he succeed? Unfortunately not
However, not needing to head straight out the door to the clinic means that you get to sleep in and wake up to the sight of your relaxed doctor leisurely sipping some coffee in bed next to you
As much as Julian savors the delights of domestic life, he's quick to get a little stir crazy. How about an outing together?
For a dramatically roguish nerd like him, an "outing" could mean getting dragged to a leech convention, watching a play, doing something legally not-so-recommended, or visiting a library
Either way, since the point of the day is to be lazy, he's more likely to want to head home come evening rather than stay out
Does he enjoy social time? Sure, but even more than that, he cherishes you. He can meet you for dinner at the tavern any day, but he doesn't get every evening completely free like this
Dinner is peaceful, intimate, and slower than usual because he insists on eating by candlelight which means not being able to see your plate very well
The way his eyes feast on you instead of the meal makes up for it
Asra
Nobody can match this magician when it comes to lazy days
They. Are. Sleeping. In. They aren't even going to think about getting up until the sun is high enough to fill the room with golden light and the street outside your window is bustling with activity
Even then, the tranquility stays. There's no part of the day when the pace picks up. He'll move with you slowly from the bed to the kitchen with a sleepy smile, prioritizing snuggles over cooking
And that's how the day goes - lazing from the cushions to the kitchen for more tea and snacks, trading silly stories and engaging in the occasional tickle/pillow fight between books
Asra will start at least one experimental craft, only to put it down halfway finished because focusing on you is way more enjoyable
Right around sunset, they'll need a change of scenery. That will most likely take the form of taking you by the hand and pulling you into their oasis for some prolonged snuggles and whimsy time
However, being predictably unpredictable, there is the 25% chance that he'll decide he doesn't want to keep a lazy pace all day after all, and pull you out into the darkening streets for an adventure
Either way, it ends back in bed, gazing out the window at the stars
Nadia
Oh, she needs this and she's been planning for it for weeks
Everything is set up ahead of time. All pressing matters have been dealt with, and she's delegated responsibilities so that unless the world starts to end, someone else will have to handle it
She is going to indulge in every relaxing moment she's been putting off and she's going to do it without lifting a finger and you are going to join her for every blissful moment
She rarely has time to sleep in and hold you, so she is taking her fill
Breakfast appears at the door to her chambers when she rings her bell, and after sitting you in her lap and taking turns feeding each other, she's drawing you into her private bath all set up for spa day
With her mind carefully blocked off of work, she'll turn her attentions to you. How have you been doing? What's been on your mind? Tell her something about you she hasn't heard yet ~
Since you can't spend all day in the spa, she does take a couple hours in the afternoon to herself in her tower. Your company is delightful and refreshing, but even she needs a moment alone
Dinner happens on the veranda, just the two of you in a nook hidden from view, lounging on cushions and savoring a slow night
Muriel
Lazy days ... kind of happen whenever one of you needs them to happen. Living self-sustainably in the woods has its perks
At the same time, there's some daily duties that just can't be skipped - feeding the chickens, drawing water, etc
Lazy days are what happens when one of you looks at the other of you and you both know you need a break. A day without all the added routine tasks, a day to just breathe for a little bit
Lazy days start by spending the day before getting ready to rest
Waking up is one quick trip to throw a bucket of feed at the chickens before darting back inside to warm up next to the veritable furnace that Muriel becomes under a blanket
Breakfast happens late, sitting by the fire instead of at the table, slicing the loaf of bread between you as you want more and toasting it idly while Inanna steals the crumbs
If it's a chilly, rainy day, you spend it adding logs to the fire from the pile you built up yesterday and curling up with each other under the furs. On sunny days, you might lie down outside
Maybe you talk, maybe you sleep, maybe you work on a craft - but it passes in peace and quiet and grounded, steadfast love
Portia
Does Portia need a lazy day? YES. Is Portia good at lazy days? Not. At. All.
Sometimes existing in Portia's presence means idly wondering if she subconsciously found the secret to perpetual motion and she's very busy trying not to forget it. She just never stops going!
Lazy days happen when you and the Countess gang up and make sure she has 24 hours of a clear schedule when she's on the verge of burning out and is in desperate need of a reset
The day starts by dragging her back into bed and telling her she's not allowed to make breakfast until she's slept as long as possible
Breakfast itself consists of trying to help her snap out of "work work work must get the next task done" mode while you brew some tea. The most effective way to do so is to put Pepi in her lap
After that, the day is delightful. Spending the rest of the morning and early afternoon lying on a picnic blanket in the garden, reading books and eating snacks and watching Pepi chase butterflies
The evening always involves visiting Mazelinka for family time. (It's also the best way to make sure Portia doesn't have to cook)
And nighttime - nighttime is for fireflies and pillow forts and kisses
Lucio
Lucio likes suggesting lazy days every day
Which means that, when the time does come to have one, the first word out of his mouth is "FINALLY."
He's been ready to take a slow day for weeks!! He needs this!!
Sleeping in is essential. If you try to get him out of bed before noon when there isn't a reason to he will start a riot
Went out the night before and maxed out his budget buying all the pastries on sale at the end of the day. Breakfast consists of him wolfing down sugary flaky dough at 1 PM, without leaving bed
He got them for you too - which is how you're presented with the sight of him beaming, shirtless, sitting in a ray of afternoon light with the sheets rumpled around him as he holds out a bite for you
The sugar high is enough to make him antsy. Yes, this is a lazy day, but lazy days are supposed to be enjoyable, and is a day even enjoyable if you haven't gone out to enjoy yourself?
Luxuriates in taking twice as much time to do his eyeliner
Saunters around the square of wherever you're visiting with your hand in his, pointedly ignoring the board of job requests
Stays up super late to savor every last moment of the day off

Bleeding Heart - Pt. 2 (Astarion x reader)
Hope you guys enjoy
Read part one here 🌿✨
Tumblr media
Chapter 2
Astarion stared out across the harbour. The sea was slightly dappled in the moonlight, but it didn’t shimmer that much for it was a still evening. He almost wished it had been stormy night - for he would have quite enjoyed watching the waves swell as the skies thundered above. At least then it would have matched his thoughts - as dramatic as that must have seemed. The high-elf rested his chin in his hand and exhaled a lengthy sigh. He hadn’t felt quite this way… well, as far as he could remember, not for at least two hundred years. He hadn’t felt worry’s hands clawing at his very being in quite this way for a long time. When Tav had fallen out of the sky earlier… well, she had refused to look at him for some odd reason. And that was even considering the fact that he had carried her back the way to camp - despite Karlach’s pleas to ‘have a turn to help’ as she so put it. No, instead her eyes had been shut or fixated on the ground below. What’s more, she wouldn’t speak… not at all. It was as if she were lifeless in his arms… and it reminded him of the victims he had brought back for Cazador. The very comparison made his stomach churn. He couldn’t even bear to contemplate the thought of ever hurting her - no, he’d rather throw himself onto an open fire. He felt sick.
“Is… Astarion alright?” Shadowheart asked softly from where she sat beside the campfire. She had been watching Astarion for a little while and she noticed that her rogue comrade hadn’t moved from the shore for a few hours now. Gale sighed and glanced up from his book. He had been enjoying refamiliarising himself with various rare cantrips and potions - that was before he had been interrupted, of course. Regardless, he too observed Astarion’s figure in the distance for a few moments.
Both the wizard and cleric watched on in horror as Astarion suddenly haunched over and started to vomit. After composing himself, Astarion glared towards the campfire, causing both Gale and Shadowheart to quickly look away. “I didn’t know vampires could be sick” Shadowheart muttered after a few minutes of silence. “Oh yes,” Gale replied softly, “Unlike what folk law may suggest, vampires aren’t too dissimilar to you and I… Although, I’ve never sunk my teeth into a woman in quite such a literal way”. Shadowheart’s nose curled up in disgust, “Gale. That isn’t funny”. Gale chuckled and closed his book, before carefully placing it on the ground beside him. “I’m kidding! Well, kind of, but let’s not forget that Astarion isn’t quite a vampire… he’s sort of a half-mortal, being a vampire spawn after all”. Shadowheart cautiously picked at the bread in her lap, “I know that, but still… he’s not being his usual narcissistic self”. Gale raised a wily brow, “…Is that such a bad thing?”. “No… I suppose not. I was just wondering if his odd behaviour had anything to do with Tav falling from the sky earlier”.
The wizard’s eyes slowly flickered across at Halsin’s tent on the other side of camp. The druid had been talking to Tav for a little while now - apparently he was testing out her reflexes and whatnot after the fight earlier. “I imagine he’s just worried about her”. Shadowheart furrowed her brow, “He’s not the only one who is you know.”. Gale smiled softly. He was almost taken aback by Shadowheart’s open affection for their friend. “Shadowheart” he spoke gently “You know that’s not what I meant… We all care about Tav, she means a great lot to us all. But you know how she and Astarion are together…”. Shadowheart sighed and tossed her bread onto the open fire. “I know”.
You blearily watched Halsin as he ground up a few herbs in a pestle and mortar. Candlelight flickered softly within Halsin’s tent and whilst it would have normally been comforting, you couldn’t help but see Astarion’s face in every shadow. You had spent the entire evening retelling your vision to Halsin and now your eyes throbbed in pain from all the crying you had done. “I’m sorry Halsin” you whimpered as you wrapped his blanket around your shoulders. The aroma of lavender calmed your senses as Halsin continued to grind the herbs in front of you. You watched as the mixture slowly turned from a gritty paste into a silvery liquid. Halsin reached for a small cup, which he had obviously carved out of pine at some point. He slowly poured the liquid into the cup. Once it was full, he raised his palm above the mixture and ran his index finger clockwise along the ring. “Somnus angélus”. Halsin had murmured so faintly that it was only just about audible to your ears. Orange droplets fell from his palm as he repeated the charm. These droplets slowly trickled into the cup, which shone brightly with magic. “Here” he leaned forward to pass you the cup, “It’s not much, but it should keep the dreams at bay for tonight”. You took the cup and cautiously watched as the orange droplets glimmered from within the liquid. “Thank you Halsin, but I don’t think I can drink this… What if Othim needs to talk to me?”.
Halsin stared at you. He took in each inch of your frame… your shoulders seemed to carry the weight of the world, and now your eyes were equally as heavy with worry. Despite previously telling him about your encounters with Othim over the past few months, Halsin had his doubts about how much this dream visitor of yours was to be trusted. “Friend, please drink… He’s already proven that you don’t have to be asleep for him to reach you”. You frowned and slowly nodded. Yes, that seemed to be the truth as you had learnt from today. You were so incredibly exhausted… not only from the day of physical excursion but also from how you had tortured yourself with… well, the image of Astartion killing all those peo - no, stop! You squeezed your eyes shut and quickly took a swig of the liquid. Thankfully, it tasted not unlike peppermint tea. With a sigh you placed the little wooden cup down, “Thank you Halsin… I.. thank you”. Halsin nodded and smiled softly. He readjusted himself to sit beside you and gently wrapped an arm around you. You felt your eyes grow wearier. You could feel the warmth of the potion as it slowly made its way down your throat… and as it went, it was as if all the pain was lifted from your physical body. “It’s okay” Halsin murmured as you leant your body against his. He rested his chin on top of your head as you dozed off to sleep. He vowed to himself that he would stay awake all night if you needed him to. The wood-elf had a tremendous amount of respect for you, not only as a leader but as a friend too… and through all the months of knowing you, he had never seen you in so much pain.
As such, he wanted to help you in any way he could.

Chapter Seven of I'm Sorry, Teenage Mutant What Now? is out! Just normal teenage boys doing normal teenage things. :) Read it on ao3 or below the cut.
[ prev ]
It had been three days now since they last saw their dad.
On the first night, over and over, everyone kept saying, ‘I’m sure he’ll be home any minute. He’s more than capable of defending himself. He wouldn’t just disappear. Any second now,’ and the only reason that Mikey had been able to get himself to sleep that night was because he thought that maybe when he woke up again, Dad would be back. He wanted to just skip forward to the good part. But then when he woke up, the good part wasn’t there.
The following morning, Mrs. O’Neil was in the kitchen making breakfast, with the blankets all folded up neat on the couch as if she hadn’t slept there that night. April helped set the table, as if this were normal, as if she hadn’t slept on a bean bag in the Lair, as if they were meant to be here and it made sense for them to be carefully preparing for a big pancake breakfast instead of wolfing down bagels and granola bars in a chaotic frenzy, attempting to make it out the door on time.
It wasn’t like Mikey didn’t appreciate it. He did. It was nice, the gentle looks, the backrubs, the hugs… But it felt weird. Alien, almost. And yet, even with things being so starkly different, even with the five of them staying home from school, staying home from activities, in this absolute jarring contrast to their normal routine, at the same time, there were still these moments that felt so… untouched. Leo and April made bad puns when the opportunity arose like they always did. Raph physically picked up and moved them when they were in his way or getting on his nerves, like usual. Donnie took the time to check up on all of his houseplants, watering anyone who needed it. Some memes were sent to the group chat. Leo and Raph got in a fight over the last raspberry popsicle in the freezer.
There were moments where Mikey could almost look around and pretend like everything was normal. Dad just wasn’t home right now, and that was all. There were all these beats and steps that just weren’t colored by this horrible thing at all, in this weird way that Mikey wasn’t expecting.
But just on the surface level.
Because no. Dad isn’t just out getting groceries or meeting with an agent or picking up takeout. Dad isn’t here. And they don’t know where he is.
They had already discovered, on that very first night, that Dad’s cell phone was left in his bedroom. They had obviously all tried texting and calling him about eighty times each, with no response, and eventually found the phone, plugged into its charger on his nightstand. They tried guessing the passcode, but none of them knew it, so they had all looked at Donnie. They said that they would figure it out and pocketed the device. And aside from coming down to care for their plants and grab some banana pancakes, they hadn’t been down from their room since.
They spent most of the first day making calls. They contacted everyone that they could think of. Dad’s agent, his lawyers, any friends or acquaintances he knew. They called each and every one of his dojo locations. Anyone whose number they could find who they had ever known to speak with Dad, they contacted, asking them if they had seen him, heard from him, had anyone idea who the masked guy could be? And over and over they heard, no, sorry. We haven’t seen him. We haven’t heard from him. We don’t know anything about this stranger. We’ll keep an eye out and let you know right away if anything changes. Dead end. Dead end. Dead end.
They texted people, they sent emails, they combed the internet for anything that might be helpful, but they didn’t find anything. The whole group, Mrs. O’Neil and even Donnie included (Mrs. O’Neil, I mean, Carol, made them come. Mikey thought that it was probably because they were nervous about anyone being alone after… you know,) took multiple walks around the neighborhood, the neighborhood next over, and the neighborhood next over to that, looking for any sign of their father.
On the second day, Mikey made posters, and they started hanging those up when they did their walks. Word was starting to spread, and Mikey kept getting texts on his phone-- friends from school, friends from dance, friends from sports, friends of friends… At first, Mikey would reply to all of them. Would say, oh, thank you so much for reaching out, we really appreciate it, please, if you see him at all, let us know… But that rapidly became exhausting. After the first ten, Mikey took to just copy-and-pasting the same message asking them to look, along with an image of the poster he had made. And even just that was exhausting. What was he supposed to say? ‘Everything is horrible and I have no idea how I’m feeling right now, I’m just overwhelmed and terrified-- thanks tho, melting face emoji?’
Donnie got into Dad’s phone but didn’t find anything useful. They sent out emails and texts to every contact he had saved, even though they didn’t recognize half of them, and posted on every social media that he had. All four of them posted on their social media, too. Mikey made a TikTok video reaching out to 350k of his followers. He kept all his notifications on, hoping and waiting that someone would message him telling him that they had seen him and he was okay… but it didn’t come. There was a flood of empathetic comments, of thoughts and prayers, of heart emojis. But nothing that would help them. He and his brothers posted on every Lou Jitsu fan forum that they could find, but they got much of the same there, too.
And now it had been three days. Three days was a long, long time. Ever since that first night, Mikey couldn’t really sleep. He knew his siblings couldn’t, either, and he anxiously fussed over them whenever he could, trying to encourage them to get some rest. Especially Leo. He hardly ever slept even on a good day-- now he kind of just seemed more and more like a wreck as time passed. All of them did.
It was on the third day that Mrs. O'Neil got a phone call. Well-- she had been on the phone on-and-off ever since she got here that first night, making calls and taking them, even more than they had. But this phone call, in particular, went a little like this:
"Hello?"
"Yes, this is she,"
"What?"
"No, I'm sorry,"
"No."
"Yes, I'm absolutely certain. No. No, we're not accepting any interview requests right now. I'm not sure you do understand. With all due respect, I'm not putting any of these kids on TV right now. Yes, I'm quite sure."
"Yes."
"You have a great day, too. Goodbye."
Mikey knew that all four of his siblings were listening, but Leo was the first one to speak once Carol hung up the phone.
"Who was that?"
"A reporter," Carol sighed in response. They had barely exchanged five words and she already seemed exhausted with this conversation.
"What did they want?"
Carol pursed her lips. "They were asking about doing a live interview or bringing you guys on their talk show. I told them we weren't interested."
"Why would you tell them that?"
"Because we're not."
"Uhm. Maybe you're not," Leo corrected, his brows furrowing. "Why the hell can't I do an interview? I can do interviews! I've done interviews before! I'm great at interviews."
"It's not a good idea, Leo," Carol said, putting her phone down, turning her attention back to her laptop in front of her, beginning to type again. Oof. That was gonna piss Leo off.
"Why not?!" Leo demanded, growing pissed off. "I've done interviews before! I've done live shows! I could totally handle this! Besides, we're trying to get the word out to as many people as possible. What if someone saw the interview and knew where Dad was? This could help!"
"This isn't up for debate, Leo. I'm not putting any of you kids on a talk show right now."
"Why is it your decision!? I'm the one who would be on the show! Why don't I get to decide?"
"Because I'm the adult," Carol was just a step away from snapping, but her voice was hard, definitive. "I just said this isn't up for debate. I'm sorry, but it's off the table. It's not a good idea."
Mikey looked nervously at his brother, wondering if he should say something. Raph looked like he was about to, but Leo huffed, rolling his eyes and getting to his feet. "Fine," he hissed in reply, promptly moving to the front door and beginning to put on his shoes.
"Where are you going?" Carol questioned, frowning a bit.
"Gymnastics."
"Leo--"
"I'm sick of sitting around here not doing anything! It's driving me crazy. We have gymnastics practice right now. I'm going to gymnastics. Mikey, are you coming?"
Mikey jumped when eyes shifted to him, floundering for a second. If he was being totally honest, he wasn't exactly in a gymnastics mood, but... he knew that Mrs. O'Neil wasn't gonna let Leo go by himself. And there was no way he was gonna convince Donnie to even leave his room, let alone go to gymnastics practice. Maybe... it would be good? Get his mind off of things?
"Yeah. Uh. I'll come. Let me grab my stuff. Hang on," he said, jumping to his feet and scampering off to grab their gymnastics bags-- packed and ready to go in the hallway, like they always were, like they didn't know anything was wrong.
"Leo, I don't know if this is--"
"I'm not going alone, Mikey is with me. There's gonna be adults there. We'll get a taxi cab home when it gets dark. I'm not gonna sit here twiddling my thumbs anymore. I'm gonna go insane." Leo spoke over her, and Mikey thought privately to himself that that was rather ballsy. Leo must really be upset because usually none of them would dare interrupt Mrs. O'Neil. He hurried to get his shoes on, hoping that they could escape before things got too heated. Sorry April, sorry Raph.
"Ready, Mikey?"
"Yeah… yeah, I'm ready. Let's go."
---
April was trying really hard to be patient with her brothers right now, 'cause she knew that they were having a hard time. I mean, if either of her parents went missing, she'd probably be behaving less than her best, too. Raph was clingier than ever, and April had had to talk him off the metaphorical ledge about five times now, Donnie had turned into a total hermit, even by Donnie standards, Leo was honestly being kind of a brat, and Mikey was...
Ugh. God. Mikey. He was such a sweetheart. He was killing himself, April could tell. Even more than she was killing herself right now. She would have to corner him later. Right after she cornered Leo.
And kicked his ass.
Look, she got where he was coming from, but did he really need to tick her mom off like that!? And then leave her to deal with it?! She knew her mom was mostly just worried, (and, okay, maybe also kind of peeved, but April could only kind of blame her,) but that didn't make it any more pleasant. And once she managed to settle her down, she had to deal with Raph, too.
If her mom was freaked out, then Raph was about ready to lose his mind. April half thought he was gonna take off after Leo and Mikey on foot any second now. April sank into the couch next to him, bodily draping herself over his lap to make sure he didn't go anywhere.
"Hey Big Guy," she said, blinking up at him, forcing a half-hearted smile. "How you holding up?"
"Me?" Raph said, just barely glancing down at her before his eyes snapped away again, anxious and flighty. "I'm fine. Raph's fine. How are you holding up?"
God, they were all so predictable. April privately thought that self-sacrifice must be a Hamato tradition. It was simply a question of which one of them could outdo the rest.
"You're a bad liar. You're as bad as Mikey. As bad as Donnie."
"What?!" Raph squawked in protest. "I am not as bad as Donnie! No one's as bad as Donnie!"
"Okay, well, maybe not that bad," April relented. "Leo and Mikey are gonna be fine. They're taking the subway in broad daylight. They're only gonna be, like, ten minutes away. They both had their phones and they already said they'll take a taxi cab home. It's okay."
"I know," Raph said, wrinkling up his nose. "It's just-- I mean. What if somethin' bad happens to 'em? And I'm not there to help?"
"You know it's not your fault, right?"
There was a telling silence.
"Raph. It's not your job to protect your Dad from creepy stalker fans. And you couldn't have done anything."
"I know," Raph relented, frowning a little. And it wasn't that April didn't believe him, but... There was a difference between knowing and knowing. April knew that perfectly well. Raph might be the biggest brother, but she was the biggest sister, and... okay, she wasn't gonna sit here and delude herself into thinking that she could have physically stopped that guy if she had just moved a little faster. She wasn't a martial arts champion like the rest of them, (even if she did have a mean left hook and an even meaner softball swing.) But she hated... watching them fall apart. She hated watching all of them shrivel up under the stress. She hated that she couldn't fix this for them... Or at least make it a little easier.
And she was worried too. Mr. Hamato might not be her dad, exactly, but... this was her family, too. She had known Yoshi since she was five! She used to spend every afternoon after school at their house, and they would spend the weekends at hers. She couldn't even count how many slumber parties and sleepovers they had had over the years. Raph, Donnie, Leo, and Mikey were like her brothers, and Yoshi was, like... her weird uncle or something.
She really hoped he was okay. And that he'd be back soon.
"Nothing bad is gonna happen. They'll go to gymnastics, they'll blow off some steam, they'll come home, and maybe Leo will be less of a headache for the rest of the evening." She said with a sigh. "Maybe he's got a point! You guys aren't used to being cooped up for so long."
"I guess," Raph said, seeming unconvinced, though he leaned back a little into the cushions, slumping a bit. April would take even the littlest victory.
"You could probably use a distraction too."
"Mmm..."
"Sooo... You could paint my nails for me? I'll paint yours back." She offered, raising a brow. He had to take the bait here. This always worked. The boys loved getting their nails painted. Especially Raph, since he was so bad at doing his own. He was okay if he was working on someone else, but if it was a solo project, that right hand just never quite turned out right.
It took a moment, and for a moment April thought he might actually turn her down, but eventually, he sighed and relented. "Okay, fine," he agreed. "But Raph gets to pick the colors this time."
Thank god for small miracles. He could pick whatever color he wanted.
---
Mikey had never noticed how loud the gym was before.
Usually, it didn't bother him. But today? It was just... so much noise. Every thump of a landed flip echoing through the padded floor, reverberating, every shout, every stomp, every clap of chalk on hands... It seemed to travel right through his bones.
He was waiting for it to wear off.
Their instructor had seemed... surprised to see them, especially since they had gotten there a half-hour late, but hadn't protested or turned them away, much to Mikey's relief. Well, initially it had been relief, but now he wasn't so sure. Usually, he adored gymnastics. It was easily one of his favorite hobbies, (tied between ballet, painting, cooking, yoga, hip-hop, and skateboarding,) but there was something... off today. Every movement seemed just a beat behind reality, as if he himself were lagging somehow, like the connection was slow. His head felt fuzzy.
Every second they were here felt so odd. Everyone was just... working. Doing gymnastics. Practicing back-flips and floor routines. Mikey wanted to scream at everyone. How could they all just act like this when their dad was missing? How could they pretend like things were okay and just keep moving through life? Every person they passed on the walk here, every passenger on the subway, the receptionist at the front desk, he wanted to grab them by the front of their shirts and wail to them and explain everything.
How could people just live? How could so many people just not know that their dad was gone and might not ever come back?
Mikey had been working on his high bar routine for almost forty minutes now, and he still wasn't getting it right. Usually, this was easy. It wasn't even that hard of a routine, not compared to some of the other things he had done before. But every single time he made another go at it, he missed a beat or moved the wrong way, his brain blanking out on the next step, and he'd have to start over again, gritting his teeth and telling himself he'd get it right this time. The chalk on his hands itched. He was forming a blister. Blisters had never bothered him before.
His coach was being so patient. So sweet, repeatedly telling him it was okay, he could just try again, but it wasn't okay. He wanted to yell at her, too, that they both knew he could do better than this. But he didn't. He just thanked her and nodded his head and kept going.
Leo was over at the vault. He could see him from here. From what he could see, he was doing fine. He wasn't missing any turns or freezing up or losing his balance. He was doing great. His routine looked perfect. Why was he doing so perfect? What was wrong with him? If the problem wasn't Dad, if it wasn't affecting Leo, then it had to be--
Mikey's hand missed the bar. He never missed the bar. He didn't swing far enough and his hand didn't make contact.
He missed. He fell.
He never fell.
It didn't hurt. They had all this matting for a reason-- for exactly this reason, in fact. There wasn't even any heavy thud of contact, no wind got knocked out of him, he just flopped sadly down on his back on the padding, bouncing a tiny bit, staring up at the bars above him.
He fell down. He never fell down. He missed. He never missed the bars.
He knew he needed to get up. He should try again. If he didn't move, people would worry, or think he was hurt or something. But every time he told himself to sit up, his body didn't quite listen.
After a few minutes of staring at the ceiling, his older brother's face came into view. He had been expecting a coach. He wasn't sure if Leo was better or worse.
"Well that wasn't very razzmatazz," Leo remarked with a grin, leaning over and offering a hand to the other. "Here, c'mon. I'll help you up."
Mikey sniffled a tiny bit. His body didn't listen when he told it to grab Leo's hand, either.
"I wanna go home," he finally got his mouth to move.
"What?" Leo immediately protested. "Oh, come on, little brother, we just got here. We've still got two hours left of gym time! You love gymnastics. You're not gonna let one little fall get to you, are ya?"
"I wanna go home," Mikey repeated, because he didn't know what else to say. His voice sounded horrible. What was the matter with him? This wasn’t even what he wanted to be saying. He didn't want to talk to Leo like this. He did love gymnastics. This wasn't him! He didn't act this way. Why was he acting this way? He blinked rapidly, hoping that it would help somehow.
He didn't want to look at Leo anymore, so he didn't. But he heard him sigh. He felt the gym mat shift as Leo slowly moved to lay down next to him, until both of them were staring up at the ceiling like silly little animals stuck on their backs, unable to flip back over.
Like...
I dunno, like beetles or something.
"We can go home if you want to, Mikey," Leo said, and Mikey hiccuped softly, wrinkling up his nose.
"Sorry," he bit out. "... We c-can stay if you want. I can stay."
"Nah. It's fine. We should go home," Leo repeated, finding Mikey’s hand and squeezing it shortly. "Sorry. For dragging you out."
Mikey shook his head, sniffling a bit. Ugh, crying on your back sucked. His nose was all full of gunk.
"I like gymnastics," he said weakly, and Leo laughed.
"Yeah, I know. That's 'cause you're really good at it."
Mikey nodded kind of numbly, crossing his arms over his chest, clinging to himself slightly.
"Everyone is acting like nothing's wrong," Mikey whispered.
"Yeah," Leo sighed through his nose. "It's weird, right? I keep seeing people on the street and being like... Oh my god. They don't even know. They have no idea. And, like, I don't even know what's going on with them, either. Like. You know that lady we sat next to on the subway? I kept thinking, I dunno, maybe her dad went missing once, too, and we don't even know. How much shit do we just not know?"
"Leo, what if he doesn't come back?"
It wasn't like Leo was bad at hugs. It's just that he wasn't as good at hugs as everyone else. There was a very clear ranking, and yes, Mikey did keep track, like a reasonable person. At the very top of the ranking, obviously, was Raph. Raph gave the best hugs-- He scooped you up and swung you around and you got all squished and squeezed in the best way possible. Absolutely top-tier. Second best hugs were Dad, because, well, they were Dad Hugs. Dad Hugs had a special quality to them. He really didn't think he had to explain himself any further. Next up was Donnie, not necessarily because Donnie was good at hugging or anything, but just because he was so rarely down for hugs that every time he got one it was special. It felt like he was winning something-- especially since he got Donnie hugs more than anyone else in the family. April hugs were next, because while she gave really good hugs, and she always let him cling to her for as long as he wanted, her glasses could be a bit pokey at times. And then Leo brought in the rear-- not because he was bad at them, but just because the competition was so stiff.
But this was a really, really good hug. Two really's.
The absolute second Leo had him wrapped up in his arms, Mikey just dissolved into sobs, before he even had a proper chance to try not to. He was just so tired of feeling scared like this. If Dad wasn't going to come back, could they just know already?! He hated waiting. He hated not knowing! He just wanted to tear the band-aid off so that he could mourn and then get better. This was worse than their Dad being dead, he thought to himself. He almost wished that he was just dead, and that this could at least be over. Wasn't that horrible...? How could he feel that way?
He was pretty sure Leo was crying, too, but he couldn't really tell for sure. He was clinging way too tight to see anything.
"It'll be alright, Mikey." Leo's voice was muffled, but he could hear him all the same. "We'll be okay. Dad would never stay away from us on purpose. We'll figure it out."
---
They had been getting a lot of takeout since Dad went missing. No one really felt like cooking-- not even Mikey, and Leo couldn't even blame him. He wouldn't wanna cook, either. He barely even wanted to eat. And there was pizza in front of him. That was a big deal.
This was their third Jupiter Jim movie marathon night in a row, but Leo wasn't the least bit excited. He was trying hard to pretend like he cared about which title they put on, to keep up with all the running jokes they had, to pay attention, but his heart wasn't in it. No one else's was, either, he knew. They hadn't even been able to convince Donnie to come out of his room and join them since the first night, much to his frustration.
It was all just distraction. They were just smoke-screening themselves to pretend like everything wasn't awful, and frankly, Leo wasn't even sure who it was benefitting anymore. Clearly not Mikey. He had gotten it back together by the time they started heading home from gymnastics and had made Leo swear to secrecy, insisting that he 'didn't wanna worry anyone.' Leo had told him that that was stupid, that everyone was already worrying anyway, and pretending like he was fine wasn't gonna make a difference, but if he was being honest, he and the rest of the family rarely won any arguments against Mikey, so... 'keep it between them' it was.
It was stupid. He wasn't fooling anyone. None of them were.
And yet here he was, playing pretend right along with them anyway. He was such an idiot.
As was rapidly becoming routine, they all stayed up long enough to watch three Jupiter Jim movies while eating whatever dinner had been ordered that night before everyone headed off to bed, saying keywords and phrases like 'I dunno about you guys, but I’m exhausted' and 'it’s getting pretty late,' etc etc, even though Leo was pretty sure no one was sleeping. He certainly wasn't. And he was really trying. He swore he was, but...
Even under the best of circumstances, sleeping was hard. He had never understood how Dad or Mikey could just fall asleep the way they did, laying their heads down on their pillows and almost instantly drifting off. Sleeping involved so much work, so much effort, that sometimes it just felt easier to call the night a wash, take the all-nighter and go from there. Yes, he had tried meditating. Yes, he had tried Melatonin. He had tried sleep podcasts, white noise machines, drugs, music-- he swore he had tried it all! And none of it fixed the problem. Some of it helped, sure, but nothing consistently guaranteed him a full night's rest. Every night it was just a roll of the dice; a total blind bag. Some nights, he would sleep, and some nights, he wouldn't. It was anyone's guess.
Including his.
He wouldn't have put money on going to sleep that night. But he did.
He had no idea what made him realize that he was dreaming, but at some point, he did. He couldn't even tell you what had been happening before that point, because now, he didn't remember. Had he been outside? It had been cold. It had been dark, and there was water nearby, but he didn't think he had been outside. Somewhere else, but... He wasn't sure where.
But now, he was in their house. Right in their living room. Leo frowned a bit, looking around slowly. It was odd for their house to be this quiet.
He paused, looking at the family pictures hanging on the walls in abundance. Someone had written something on them in black marker, but he couldn't read it. It was in plain English, but he had no idea what it said. He leaned in a bit closer, narrowing his eyes, trying to translate, when a cry ripped his attention away.
"Blue!"
He knew that voice. Eyes widening, Leo whipped around to face his father-- on the ground not more than five feet away, pinned beneath some hulking stranger with jagged horns erupting from their head, their eyes glowing white and their jaws dripping with foamy blood.
"Dad?! Hang on!" He tried to jump forward, to reach out for him, but his legs wouldn't move. Why wouldn't his legs move?! His dad was right there-- right there in front of him! He could help him! He could save him, so why wasn't anything working?!
"Blue!" The same howl tore through his mind, and Leo hissed, clapping his hands over his ears as if that would help. He didn't want to watch. He didn't want to watch this creature kill his father-- he couldn't do it.
This is a dream, he reminded himself. You're dreaming. If you don’t want to watch, then you have to wake up. Wake up. Wake up now!
He could see it-- almost feel it-- his own body laid out on his bed back in the waking world, curled up on his stomach, his cheek to his pillow. He knew exactly where he was. He could see his room. He knew he was dreaming, so why couldn't he wake up? He couldn't get his body to move at all, repeatedly trying to sit up, to open his eyes, to jolt a limb to the side to no avail. The pitch of the screams shifted higher.
"Come on! Wake up already! I know you can hear me!" He cried, gritting his teeth. He knocked his fists angrily against the side of his head. "Move. We have to move!" He bit down hard on the inside of his cheek, tasting blood, and he wasn't sure if that was his dream self or his actual self. How was he supposed to tell the difference? "Move!"
Leo startled awake, his head jerking upwards and his limbs splaying outward in surprise. The entire house was quiet. Right... because it's the middle of the night. Because he was dreaming.
He had just been dreaming, and now he was awake. It was fine. He was fine.
Slowly, he sat up, running his hands through his hair with a sigh, rolling his head a few times to try to work the stiffness of his neck. He reached for his phone, knowing it would be plugged in on his nightstand, except... It wasn't there.
Leo frowned a little bit, wrinkling up his brows. His phone wasn't there. In fact, his nightstand wasn't there either. His bed wasn't even there, he realized with a start. He wasn't in his own room. He was on the floor-- the floor of-- somewhere else in the house, he guessed. How the hell did he get here? Had he sleepwalked? That was new.
He noted, vaguely, that whatever room he was in wasn't nearly as dark as he would have expected. There was this warm golden-orange glow blanketing the room like a nightlight, and Leo thought vaguely that someone must have accidentally left a desk lamp on or something, turning to take a look.
He had not been expecting to see his youngest brother floating half a foot above his own bed. Nor for him to be glowing.

Ikemen Prince boys as fathers - Yves, Chevalier, Leon
I've done the twins, and Jin, Luke, & Clavis. As previously mentioned, I am finally getting around to the last three princes.
(At which point, I'll do Sariel and Rio together when Rio's route is released... hopefully soon. I am prepared to blow all saved resources on that dog—er... man. XD )
Yves
When Yves discovers Emma is pregnant, he has very mixed feelings.
Yes, he’s excited and overwhelmed, which is why he’s misty eyed (not teary-eyed, he insists, thank you VERY much!) when Emma tells him.
But this soon devolves into many darker fears.
Fear number one: he is half Obsidian and fell in love with a commoner. Meaning his child will be quarter royalty, quarter foreign royalty that is still hated by most of Rhodolite, and half commoner. (they may have given her a cover story, but that was the truth of it.)
His child is going to have more societal shackles than he did. And Yves is so angry at himself because there is nothing he can do for his child to protect them from that.
Meaning he has to work even harder to prove himself among those who still doubt him and learn how to protect his child from this unfair hardship best he can.
Emma knows her husband, so she catches on to this upon watching Yves overwork himself more regularly. She's the one having to take care of him throughout her pregnancy to make sure he's not working himself to death.
Which makes him feel more guilty. He should be caring for her, not the other way around!
But she's always there to reassure him that she loves him no matter what.
Fear number two: his mother passed when he was born.
He is terrified that something might go wrong and he'll lose the love of his life.
You better believe he’s got an eye on Emma ALWAYS.
So many doctors appointments to ensure she’s healthy.
She has to pick her battles with this fickle cat, and this is not one worth the fight. She deals with them, allowing doctors to carefully monitor her progress. If it calms her husband down, she'll relent.
Besides, she knows this is his way of showing how deeply he loves her. Which makes them easier to bear.
There was a time where she accidentally gave him a heart attack when the baby kicked out suddenly.
She gasped, clutching at her belly, and Yves went about as white a sheet in panic.
The fact the baby was just moving did not settle him down at all.
He proceeded to stalk her like a cat the rest of the day. Emma warns the baby never to scare daddy like that again.
In general, Yves escorts her around everywhere to protect her from Clavis's traps.
With his luck, he will trigger any trap before Emma gets the chance to walk into it.
Emma understands where her husband is coming from, and she won’t judge him for being a little over protective. It’s just him being sweet.
Speaking of sweets…
Whatever Emma is craving, he drops everything to make for her.
Although, he is frequently torn between making her whatever she wants and the knowledge that a healthy diet is best for pregnant women.
But he’s too weak and ends up making her anything she wants anyway. The way he limits her sweet intake is portioning out what he makes for her and then giving the rest to the domestic faction.
Seeing as they are getting more sweets than normal out of the deal, they all dote on Emma, who is the reason for their sugar fix.
When she goes into labor, Yves is a mess.
He is pacing the castle so intensely that people would swear they could see a cat's tail agitatedly swishing around behind him.
No one could hold a conversation with him; he is in fine form (AKA, his tongue is sharper than usual.)
Even Licht stays away knowing Yves is inconsolable.
When he's informed that he's allowed in the room, he need not be told twice. He's already running.
When he bursts into the room, the first thing he has to do is check over Emma and make sure she's okay.
Although exhausted, she's smiling as she assures him she's fine.
He's already crying in relief before he turns his attention to the swaddled baby in her arms.
At which point, he breaks down completely. He has a family. A wife who loves him and a son born from their love.
Not out of duty. Out of love.
There are many words he wants to say, but in the end, he's too much a mess to say any of them. Instead, he settles for cradling his son against his chest, hoping that he can prove to him that he will always be loved in this world, no matter what.
Growing Up
Yves had a plan when he became a father: he would do everything he could to prove himself capable so as not to place a burden on his children.
Plan goes out the window when actually faced with raising them.
Instead of working hard to prove his worth to others, he does what he can to be involved in his children's life.
He himself had been alone in the world ever since he was born. He would not allow his children to know that loneliness.
Hence, Yves is a very attentive father to his son and two daughters.
And the domestic faction are very attentive uncles.
They all protect Yves' son from Sariel, whom he is terrified of. (Yves' two daughters had a little better introduction that helped curb that fear.)
Sariel had expected it. Henceforth, he'll be patient. He's sure Yves' son will grow out of it as he gets older.
This boy has an affinity for the kitchen, so baking with his son becomes Yves' new favorite past time.
Nighttime cookies, milk, and a story told by Emma is a whole magical experience.
Yves' son invites the domestic faction once to such a party. Yves loves him so much he begs Emma to humor him this once.
(So yes, Emma did in fact read a story book to one little boy and four grown men all wrapped in blankets and eating fresh cookies.)
For as much fun as they have, Yves does not slack on his work. Occasionally, his son will be by his side as he's completing it.
Which inspires that same work ethic in his son growing up.
While his son (or any of his kids, really) isn't well accepted by the noble houses, the boy is not perturbed by it.
On the contrary, he's had his parents love and acceptance for so long that he's unfazed if nobles don't accept him. He understands why.
However, that also means that, ironically, Yves' son becomes even more of a capricious cat than his father was.
He's like a mystery, this ethereal prince of the palace that appears and vanishes on a whim that he'll make you believe in ghosts.
Now, he's developed such a talent for it, he scares Sariel. Despite what you'd believe, the devil minister is actually quite amused by this turning of tables.
Chevalier
Chevalier always knew he would have an heir with a woman of good standing for political purposes. That was his duty as king.
However, things are very different with Emma.
When she announces she's pregnant, Chevalier finds himself... far more affected by this revelation than he would have ever thought.
They were a man and woman having relations, so logically speaking, this would be the eventual result of their actions.
Furthermore, it was their duty to produce heirs, so this success was good news.
But why was he... excited about this fact?
The woman he loved was carrying his child, and somehow, that set his nerves on edge.
He'd read about this in novels, where men grew protective over their families as they produced offspring. And the logical conclusion was that they would protect what they had produced, the next generation who would replace them when they passed.
But Chevalier felt his previous assumption was now off the mark. And that confused him.
However, looking at Emma now with her bright smile, a lovely rosy hue on her cheeks as her eyes sparkled with excitement, Chevalier ultimately chalked this up to the elusive emotion of love.
He reached forward, resting his hand lightly over Emma's still flat abdomen. For her part, she laid her own hands over his. And in that still moment, Chevalier felt warm.
As Emma progressed, Chevalier found himself keeping a closer eye upon Emma. He began being hyperaware of little indications that she was tired or in pain.
And if she was sick, he'd force her to cease whatever she was doing and go lay down. Occasionally, he would leave his work to monitor her.
The one thing he did love about Emma being pregnant was her reluctance to get out of bed in the morning. While he hated that it was brought on by her not feeling well, Chevalier had no issue sleeping in with her in the mornings, her comfortably wrapped up in his arms.
However, the hardest thing for him to navigate was her mood swings.
He's a very logical thinker compared to her more emotive thought process, but they'd invested enough time into communications to understand each other. However, when Emma would react in ways he didn't expect or flip between emotions out of the blue, he became very lost.
Clavis found it extremely amusing to watch Chevalier fumble as he awkwardly navigated those situations.
Speak of the devil, Clavis had to be very careful around soon-to-be-father Chev.
The man had much on his plate and was also affected with new emotions brought on by the fact a child—his child—was on the way. So Chevalier's patience for dealing with Clavis's eccentricities became razor thin.
Clavis only learned his lesson when a very testy Chevalier held his sword at his throat. The hellcat would consider himself lucky he walked away with only a scratch.
When Emma goes into labor, Chevalier plants himself in his office chair and gets work done.
He is of no use to Emma sitting and waiting, and he has work to do.
But do not mistake him for being indifferent. Clavis and Sariel are the only ones who dare walk into that office, and they only come with business then leave straight away. The others, quite frankly, all fear too much for their lives to go within a 10 foot radius.
Sariel is the one to deliver the news that Chevalier's daughter had been born, that Emma is fine, and that Chevalier was now allowed to go see them.
At which point, Chev wastes no time abandoning his work. Not a soul dared stood in the king's way as he strode up to the room.
Upon entering the bedchambers, he's greeted with the sight of his wife holding a baby swaddled in a blanket, and Chevalier actually stops in his tracks to take in the sight.
A strong emotion flares in his chest, and he's overcome by awe over the realization that that child is his child, born from his wife whom he can genuinely say he loves.
With a soft smile, he walks over to the bed and sits down on the edge of it.
Softly, Chevalier gazes down at the tiny child in his wife's arms. Hesitating for a second, he reaches out to rub a finger over it's chubby little cheek.
They stay like that for a while, Chevalier watching over his daughter in his wife's arms with a tightness in his chest he cannot explain.
"Would you like to hold her?" Emma eventually asks him.
Her words surprise him, and he pauses as he fights for words to answer. "How do I hold her?"
With a sweet, reassuring grin, Emma walks him through how to properly hold the baby.
And when he cradles his daughter in his arms, Chevalier smiles.
He thought his wife had already taught him all there was to know about love. But he was wrong. Seems his daughter had yet more to teach him.
Growing up
Y'all may feel differently (this is not a hill I'll die on.) But I feel Chevalier and Emma are a "one and done" couple. Not for lack of trying, mind you.
From a royalty standpoint, Chevalier is disappointed, as it is his duty to bear heirs. Specifically sons.
From a personal standpoint, Chevalier does not care. Competency to rule is not limited to his own bloodline. Furthermore, he could bear sons who would be incompetent, and that would cause just as many issues.
That said, he is of the firm belief his daughter could take after him.
And he does not say that because she's his daughter... mostly. Chev can't help but dote on her a bit.
She's proof of the saying "first born daughters are female versions of their fathers."
Unlike most girls, she's extremely logical. Emotions are slightly more difficult for her to grasp, but she learns to understand them logically.
To the point she struggles to get along with her peers. As a female, she becomes singled out for her logical way of processing emotions.
It actually connects her to her father. And Chevalier, in turn, feels connected to his daughter as they share that mindset.
However, it comes as a relief to Chev that Emma loves their daughter anyway, despite her very logical mind.
He himself had always insisted he was fine on his own, and if no one understood him, so be it. But knowing his daughter would always have the support of both parents was a comfort to him.
I don't need to say this, but there was no way for their daughter to escape a love of books when she was born of two bookworms.
And it was only further ingrained when Chevalier read to her all while growing up. He read her bedtime stories only slightly less frequently than Emma did, and that was only because he was busy.
Chev is so attached to his daughter that he decides to specifically take time to teach her self-defense.
As a princess, he realizes it would be wholly inappropriate for her to walk around with a sword strapped to her waist.
But teaching her defensive maneuvers and how to wield a knife she could hide in the folds of her clothes would not be unproductive, as she is a princess of a not fully adored king.
She's terrifying as is, but to her, it's not enough.
She realizes that as a female, she is biologically weaker than males. And while she has some training, she's not foolish enough to believe she can out-power men in the way her father can.
This is why Clavis becomes her favorite uncle. He's skilled in avoiding fighting and instead using trickery, knowledge she believes would be of great benefit for her.
But that's not all. His mind just... fascinates her.
"Father... he's an idiot. A brilliant idiot, but an idiot."
"I know, my dear," he'll always say while patting her head affectionately.
In the end, Chevalier does what he can to ensure his daughter is in the running to be selected for the next king, along with his nephews who get pulled into the running.
And just as her father before her, she's determined to prove that it will be inevitable for her to ascend the throne.
Leon
When Emma tells Leon she's pregnant, Leon goes quiet.
Because he has a child on the way. He... he has a family of his own.
Not that he doesn't consider brothers his own family. He loves them like his own blood. But this is different.
He actually has blood family now.
And in the most ironic way, too. Here he was, born a slave married to a woman born a commoner. But their child—his flesh and blood—would be royalty.
When that hits him like a storm, he actually starts laughing. And he's still laughing as he swoops Emma up and spins her around.
This is truly one of the best days of his life. Not even becoming king could come close to this.
He's always wanted to help Emma with anything before. Now, it is ten times worse.
He's like a little puppy, following her around asking if she needs anything. To the point this man put Rio to shame. (Rio is torn between being embarrassed for Leon and being jealous. Waiting on Emma hand and foot was still his job!)
For the first time, Leon is genuinely thankful for being a royal. Simply because if he was a slave, he couldn't have provided for Emma and his child anywhere near as much as he could now.
His habit of slipping out of the castle becomes less common since Emma announced her pregnancy. Sariel is thrilled.
However, this is because Leon can't just whisk her away like he used to. He feels a need to be more careful with her now.
Though Emma doesn't appreciate being treated like a doll, she doesn't speak up because she's actually happy Leon has settled down a bit.
Leon only grows more excited the more Emma progresses. He loves being able to hold a hand over her swollen stomach and talk to his baby.
He tells them often how excited he is for them to come into the world. How he'll protect them and love them dearly.
When she goes into labor, he's of course very anxious.
He plays it off, pretending that he's not worried and she'll be fine.
Which, he knows she likely will be, but he can't help but worry, anyway.
Jin is there to help calm him down and take his mind off things. As is Yves and Licht.
They hold a little party in the office, trying to distract Leon as long as they can.
But that only goes on for so long before Jin catches on that Leon isn't enjoying himself.
From there, it's the job of the oldest brother to reassure him.
When Leon is informed he's allowed to go see his son, he gets pats on the back from his three brothers as he leaves the room.
And then runs up the stairs, cape flying behind him like a thief in the night.
When he enters the room in a hurry, he doesn't stop until he's right by Emma's side.
"No need to hurry," she teases him.
"Of course there is," he returns, crawling beside her on the bed. "I don't want to miss a second with my son."
Emma is happy to hand over the baby to Leon, because her heart melts with the beyond tender expression Leon bestows on him.
"How do you outrank both daddy and mommy, huh?" he quietly jokes to his son when the room is empty.
Although he and Emma both share a chuckle, she reaches up to swipe the tear out of his eye.
He lets her. After all, he now has a reason to be a leader that has nothing to do with a heavy burden forcefully thrust upon him.
No, now he has to be a leader because he wishes to make his son proud.
Growing up
All boys, this man has. All. Boys.
Emma wishes she could have caught a break and just had one girl. She is not that blessed.
Leon loves his kids. Adores them. They have him wrapped around their fingers.
Of course, Leon's deep love for his kids is returned ten fold. They love their dad.
But that said, this family is chaos.
Leon already is like a large child. You think his literal children are going to be any better?
And their habit of sneaking out of the palace for kicks and giggles?
Emma just takes tea into Sariel's office. "Listen. The boys are out. You can get mad all you want. I want a moment's peace."
Sariel has given up by this point, simply accepting the tea. "No. Far be it from me to allow a moment's peace to slip through my grasp."
They do get a scolding from Emma if they are out for too long, but that's it. So Leon does his best to watch the time.
He's a busy man after all. But he loves making time for his kids like this.
That said, while he's the fun dad, he's actually quite strict in his teaching.
He wants to push them, to make them grow. He's not giving them any cushy, plush prince lifestyle.
And that's not because he wants them to suffer. He wants them to become better men than he was.
He debated for a long time about if he'd tell his sons about his past.
Only after talking with his lovely, incredibly encouraging and inspiring wife did he make a decision.
Each son is told privately as they become teenagers. But Leon tells them with the purpose of both inspiring and warning them.
"A slave can become a prince, but that requires both luck and work to get there. Do not doubt a prince could become a slave should his actions allow it. So, work to become a man you can be proud of."
None of them want to disappoint their father, so they all strive to prove that Leon's ceiling was their floor.
Military commanders, ministers, king. They all want to give their lives to protecting this kingdom of roses and proving their father proud.
They also make the next Belle's job incredibly difficult, choosing between eight very capable, extremely handsome princes. (Look. Leon is canon boy, right? It's only fair that's how this goes. XD)

Hellooo!! Can I ask a scenario wherein jiwoo and his friends are doing some shopping with kayden (in his human form) and kayden's gf. Then she picked a shirt for Kayden (something light that will go with his color palette hehe), asking to try it out. Then a man said something mean about a man should only wore dark colors. Then she picked a fight on the man telling him a man can also wear other colors etc etc, not letting others disrespect kayden or a man's masculinity (if you know what I mean) hehe. Then the boys are calming her, subin telling she's gonna be her role model and kayden saying despite being a non awakened she can depend herself just fine. ONLY IF MY REQUEST IS OKAY TO YOU, THANKYOU!! LOVE YOU!!
Kayden x Reader
From author: More than satisfying. I hope, you like it)
Tumblr media
How you convinced Kayden to go shopping with you and the guys is still a mystery. There is a suggestion that he was just bored and decided to join the shopping, but apparently, he is just jealous that you are paying more attention to Jiwoo and his friends than to him.
What can we say about Jiwoo and the guys who were shocked that Kayden and his girlfriend joined the shopping spree. Well, at first it was really an awkward sight, but after you assured the guys that they shouldn’t worry so much about Kayden’s presence, the guys relaxed and began to behave more confidently.
The boys didn’t choose much for themselves, so Subin consulted with you a lot about this or that style of clothing. She chose what she wanted and what you recommended her to wear. Of course, you advised the boys to buy more stylish clothes (you paid for some, as if giving them a gift) and while they were trying on what they had chosen, of course, you began to choose something for your boyfriend, since you saw that he was becoming too intrusive and realized that he was jealous. If only you could calm him down and start choosing a new shirt for him.
Kayden usually wore something that would be comfortable for him to fight in, that is, a sports style, but recently he began to wear dress pants and shirts, which suited him very well. It especially showed his muscle definition. Your nose didn't bleed a couple of times while you were looking at him in his new style.
- Kayden, please come, - he approached, clearly not understanding what you want. You just wanted to look at his current shirt size to know which shirts would suit him. - Turn your back.
- And why is that?
- Don’t fool me and just turn around, - Kayden didn’t argue and turned around, and you turned the collar of your shirt and found out the size.
She found a shirt that she had noticed a long time ago and told Kayden to try it on. He just didn’t understand, looked at you, then at your shirt and said:
- Don't want. She doesn't fit my tough guy style at all.
From anger, a vein appeared on your forehead. Yes, Kayden was very stubborn and rarely made concessions due to his character, but even so, where did he get the idea that a light shirt did not fit into his image?
Jiwoo immediately guessed that things were heading towards a quarrel, but he did not intervene, because he knew that you were terrible in anger. Friends just stood there and didn’t understand what was happening.
- Ah, now listen carefully, my dear, - here even Kayden shuddered in fear. He knew better than anyone else that you were terrible in anger and still managed to make you angry. - Who’s going to tell you anything if you just try on this shirt? Dark colors certainly add a cool edge to your image, but sometimes it's worth making concessions to lighter colors. Light colors are also suitable for men, and with your body type it also emphasizes muscles, which is not always noticeable in dark colors of clothing. Understood?
- More than... - taking the shirt that you chose, Kayden went to the fitting room.
The guys who stood on the sidelines all this time were shocked and delighted with how you dealt with Kayden’s stubborn character, because he is very headstrong and will not listen to anyone.
- Miss (Y/N), you are simply incredible! No one has ever managed to cope with Mr. Kayden like that! You are a role model for me! - Soobin said with a joyful exclamation.
- I’m not that incredible, I just learned to cope with Kayden’s stubborn character, nothing like that.
- Well, I would argue, - said Kayden, leaving the fitting room in the shirt that you chose, - I admit that I have a rather headstrong character, but you are the only one who could handle the pine tree. Despite the fact that you do not have awakened abilities, you can easily stand up for yourself by simply destroying the enemy morally.
- Thank you for the compliment, it’s worth noting that I was right. The shirt suits you very well.
- Maybe then you can take it off me? - Kayden asked flirtatiously and with a hint of vulgarity, which is why he received a slap on the head from you.
- Not in front of children! Unscrupulous!

I don't know if you've mentioned Qui’oky's father, but I'd like to see him show up. But not as a toxic creep or jilted lover or something similar. Just a chill dude visiting his son and catching up with a woman he respects
Origin
Pairing: Gawtin x Reader
Word Count: 3240
Summary: A surprise from Qui'oky's father.
Author Note: I've never brought him up but this was my excuse to actually do some worldbuilding. I've been meaning to give some hints to him in my stories but kept forgetting. Thank you for the request!
Masterlist

From Gawtin’s spot, her hearing picked up your soft, gentle thumping heart in the next room over. Said alien was working on something in there. She heard the light slaps of your bare feet on the floor. You stopped for a few seconds before moving again. The sound was soothing to Gawtin as she listened.
On the other hand, Gawtin scrolled through her tablet, picking up on some reading she’s been wanting to do. A few meters from her feet was Qui, happily playing with a toy you got him. Gawtin liked to tease you about stealing the heart of her child to get to hers. It’s working so far. Qui’oky was playing away with said device like the child he is.
The seat she had found herself in the living room was comfortable. Only a simple skirt hanging from her hips. Though, the position she was in had said skirt pushed up on her thighs.
A few of her sisters would disagree on the comfortability of the skirt. Their shared mother would have to fight a couple of them to get them on. The memories making Gawtin smile. You remind Gawtin of one of her sisters. Something, she would tell you often. She swiped to the next page and shifted a around on the chair. The positions Gawtin loved to sit in had you telling her she sat very gay. The analogy confused the alien. Whatever does that means.
Gawtin finally settled again, in another strange position. One you would be commenting if you were to leave the room next to her. The book in her hand had her full attention as her purple eyes scanned the words. Which reminds her about the need to finish her teachings about the Yautja language. The two of you had put a pause for a week. At least, it was supposed to be. You asked for the break when you smelled of blood. Gawtin already knew the meaning and allowed for the break. Yet, that was about three weeks ago. It was tim-
Knock, knock. This caught Gawtin’s attention. She wasn’t expecting anyone today. With a look in your general direction and to Qui’oky, she pushed off of the couch and started towards the front door. Her steps were light, carefully placed before stopping just before the door. She waited, letting whoever’s scent waft through the door.
Familiarity rolled over her. Yet, the name and face didn’t come to her, sitting on the edge of her tongue. Gawtin couldn’t keep them waiting and pressed the button for the door.
In all of his glory, Woy-Oky stood there. New scars decorated his older frame since the last time she had seen him. She was content to see him alive and well. “Woy, it’s good to see you,” she spoke politely to him and dipped her head.
Woy returned the gesture, though bending further than her. This caught her eye. Though subtle, she could read him well. How couldn’t she after spending a few too many nights with him? Those nights, the two rarely had gotten sleep. Then, once the deed was done, he left. The usual for male Yautjas after completing their mission.
Gawtin was smart, able to read people and situations without being told. This was no different. Mating season was arriving soon. The Yautja could feel it in her bones as the slowly growing need bloomed inside of her. The sight of Woy-Oky didn’t erect that feeling though. Instead, she felt no chance, no difference in her body. Her mind already on someone else nearby.
He was here to plead his case with Gawtin. Give little Qui a sibling of the same blood. Gawtin couldn’t see herself pregnant again this time. But, she stayed oblivious, seeing if he was truly here for what she believes.
Right on cue, an impressive skull of a Court’op was presented before her. Woy-Oky slightly bowed forward, skull resting upward in the palm of his hand. Gawtin didn’t react outwardly or inwardly. All she was stare as if she was asking more. Woy’s shoulders slumped at her lack of action, mandibles clicking. The gears in his mind spinning to work this in favor. Even though, Gawtin already knew it wouldn’t work.
“Will you be my mate for this mating season?” he questions, trying to plead his case to the court. Woy believed he was reading the scene wrong. Maybe he had a chance with Gawtin.
Without missing a beat, Gawtin answered normally. “No.” That’s all it took for Woy to stand straight and tuck the skull on his belt. He simply accepted his defeat and respectfully bowed his head at her.
Curiosity caught him in its sticky claws. An unfamiliar smell wafted from the doorway, one he’s never scented before. Is that reason she didn’t accept? “I must ask what is the reason?” he questions politely like the good friends they are. They’ve had their fair share of time together before. Not just for reproducing.
Gawtin stayed quiet for a few seconds. In that time frame, she focused on your humming and light slap of your feet on the floor. Your steady, firm heartbeat in her ears. She didn’t mean to let a small smile grace her face. It slipped between the sturdy walls she has up. Then, Gawtin’s focus returned to the Yautja before her. She sucked in air to speak but a door opening behind stopped Gawtin.
Your eyes were unattentively staring at the ground before spotting your gorgeous goddess out of the corner of your gaze. They light up at the sight. A smile grew on your features as your direction changed towards her. After three steps though, you realized the situation at hand and stopped mid bite of a fruit. Uh oh.
From your spot, you did not recognize the male Yautja standing at the door. None of his facial features, scars, coloring, or hair trinkets matched any of the known Yautjas that lived in the town. This put you on guard, hackles raising as you careful watched him. Yet, there was a slight familiarity that you had no clue what was about. You just stared there, ready for action. Living on a planet where it was eat or be eaten has pushed you to be this way.
“That is my reasoning,” Gawtin spoke coolly, keeping a passive look on her beautiful face. There was no way to hide the fondness that shined in her purple eyes though.
The only reaction Woy-Oky produced was the slightest shift of his head. A ooman. That was what the smell was. This took him completely off guard. Here was a mighty, high-ranking Yautja – not just because of her sex – with a ooman; one of the species he’s killed plenty of. A skull he’s gifted to Gawtin for the mating season.
There was something in the ooman’s eyes though. The way it stood. It’s body tense, as if it was ready to attack. Woy laughed inwardly at that realization. The thing couldn’t even hurt a cug, let alone him.
The decision had already been made by the looks of it. Gawtin would stay with the ooman, as much as he disagreed. Since she already picked the creature, he couldn’t even challenge it for the chance to mate with Gawtin. It’s always the female’s decision on whom they choose to procreate with. Maybe he’ll have a chance next year.
As you quietly waited for someone to move or speak up, you heard Gawtin talk in Yautja. After two years of constant listening and mostly training, you’ve learned a great portion. With the different mouths and vocal cords, you had trouble pronouncing a small amount of the language. You tilted your head at the sentence, a brow raised.
Then, the green goddess turned. Her purple gaze found yours, making you soften at just the look. Silently, you gave her a questioning look. One she’s come to learn what it means. “Come here, my little artist,” she called to you, voice even and gentle.
Your eyes darted to the unnamed Yautja at the door, then to Qui’oky. If Gawtin deems him safe to allow you to lose distance, then you listened. Your steps were careful, light as you came to stand side by side with her. A way to show you had no fear for this Yautja.
This Yautja stood, like usually, taller than you. Yet, when you had walked up to him, his head tilted down, following you. His gaze stuck to you, judging you by the feels of it. He was scanning you, sizing you up. Funny enough – even if you had no chance of winning a fight against him – you did the very same exact thing.
An unfamiliar skull was hooked to his belt, the fight thing your eyes found. It stuck out like a sore thumb against his puke green scales. This wasn’t one used for keeping items hidden in the brain cavity. It was far too big for any practicality you’ve come to know.
That’s when everything seemed to hit you all at once. For one, this male was courting Gawtin. At least he was going to try. He was going to try to steal your girl. Worst of all, you may have some ability to fight… but there wasn’t a chance on winning. You draw, an artist. You wield pencils, not weapons. He could easily kill you and take Gawtin from you. Your eyes narrowed at him, shuffling closer to Gawtin, skin to skin with her now.
Second, there was a reason he looked semi-familiar. The green, his eye shape, and face shape. This was Qui’oky’s father. He must not be happy about you being with Gawtin. His eyes and body though… they were passive, relaxed. Either he didn’t see you as a threat or that previous thought wasn’t true.
“This is why,” Gawtin broke the stare down. The two of you looked at her. Man, you must’ve missed something.
Gawtin let an arm slide over your shoulder, hand coming to lightly grasp your throat. A gasp sound from you, body tensing at the feeling. The way your form reacted and turned towards a submissive thought process so quietly should be embarrassing. Yet, that emotion never crawled underneath your skin. Instead, you felt a power rise inside of you. It empowered you to lock eyes with the Yautja. A smirk splitting your face.
Woy held his tongue to ask why she picked a ooman. He wasn’t jealous or angered at her declining him. It was only made him severely question at the fact she choose a ooman. It wasn’t his place though. “Understood, Gawtin.” Wof turned to face the lucky thing before him. It was leering at him, a glint within its weird eyes. The gaze made him feel uneasy. He pushed past it though. “What is the ooman’s name?”
If the creature was important to Gawtin – as it seems, he might as well get to know it. Even if the sight of it made him want scoff in disgust. It wasn’t even worth killing to gather the skull. It had muscle from the possible training it may have. It copied Gawtin as well. It’s posture the same, the gaze, the way it walked and stepped mindfully. This meant the female Yautja cared for it.
Said being introduced its strange name to him. The syllables nothing he’s ever tried to say before. “Artful one, this is Woy-Oky.” The name confirmed your earlier realization. This had to be Qui-oky’s father. “As you have already figured out, this is Little Qui’s sire.”
Now it was your turn to speak, in Yautja no less. “Does he know I already court you?”  you said this but your gaze was strictly on the newly named Yautja. Gawtin chuckled at your behavior, using her hand to pull you close to her. Silently reassuring you what you already know.
The words surprised Woy-Oky. Though, the pronunciation and accent was off. This ooman had spoken Yautja. And it was understandable. Then, he realized what you had asked. “I’ve come to that conclusion. I do have to ask, how was a ooman able to catch the attention of a high-rank female Yautja?” he asks of you, truly curious. Maybe, he’ll have to pull those tactics next year to win her back over.
You tilted your head slightly to the side and down, a brow smugly raised. “Why would I spill my secrets so you could still my girl?” Gawtin purred to you contently. She loved that fire you had deep inside of you. It was a rare thing to show, making her adore it all the more.
Woy returned his gaze back to Gawtin. “You’ve picked a good one this year. I shall depart, Gawtin. Keep an open mind if you see a message from me. I would love to go hunting once more with you,” he stated and bowed to the female before him.
“I will, Woy-Oky. Great hunting.” The male left without another word. The front door slide closed, blocking out the Yautja and sun.
The moment after he left, your shoulders sagged heavily as you leaned a great portion of your weight on Gawtin. She already knew how fast your heart was beat, feel the beads of sweat dripping down the back of your neck, notice the slight tremble of your hands.
In a heartbeat, the mighty Yautja knelt before you. Her striking eyes capture yours, hands doing the same. She brought them up to rest on her chest, right about the most important organ in her body. The nerves running through your form almost vanished at the sight before you. She knows. Oh, she knows.
Your head bowed, chin to chest to hide the fear filling your eyes. It was all a façade. Gawtin would always protect you, always. Yet, what happens when she leaves for something-someone better? What happens when she returns back to a sound mind and find a male Yautja? What will happen to you? You have no use besides the drawings you create.
With a single talon, Gawtin tilted your head back up to meet her gaze. Even kneeling, she was taller than you. How was that possible? “Do you know much you mean to me, Artful one?” was the first thing she said to you. It caught you off guard at first. Your brain already making up a thousand scenarios within it, unable to stop it.
Gawtin’s hands left yours, slid up the length of your arms before cupping your cheeks within her palms. Your digits stayed above her heart, feeling the steady, strong thump of the organ there. “You hold my heart.” She closed her eyes softly, a purr humming away. “You see me bare. I see you bare. I let you do this. Do you know why?” You made a noise to answer ‘no’. “No? Then I have failed with action.”
She let her head slowly fall forward, forehead meeting yours. The touch made you gasp quietly. “I do not how to say it in ooman to make you understand.”
“I care deeply for you, my little artist. Every little thing, I have kept. The necklace you have created to me is always around my neck, no matter what. All the drawings you have done for me, they are hung in our shared room. The rocks you have gifted to me are placed around our shared dwelling.” A single tear pooled in your right eye before rolling down the length of your face.
“You sleep by my naked side. A place where I am at my most vulnerable. You know this. You see this. You understand this. You sleep by my side.” A tear grew in the other eye then followed the first one down.
“You care for the child I have birthed. That include when I not here. You care for him like your own. You have won him over. You gift him trinkets to play with. You take him out to the market.” Now, you couldn’t stop the silent tears from pouring down your face.
“Do you now know how much you meant to me?” she questioned again, opening her eyes. From the scent in the air, Gawtin already knew you were crying. It was a natural reaction that she has come to learn. It’s okay to cry. It doesn’t always mean you are in pain. She used her thumbs to swipe away at the tears.
All of what she said kept hitting you over and over and over. It forced you harshly to continuously remember all that she has said. Everything was the truth. She loved you through and through.
Worst of all. You felt like you already knew this. You knew loved you deeply. Yet, as a human, your mind liked to remind you of falsehoods. Things that hold no truth when it came to her. “Yes, yes, yes. I do, love. I truly do. So much. So fucking much. I love you so much. I can’t even say how much I do,” you sobbed to her, hands grasping at the skin on her chest.
Gawtin snorted a quiet laugh. “Then get your ass into my lap, Artful one.” That made you giggle before happily listening to what she commanded of you. Your legs barely able to wrap around her hips, struggling to meet behind her. Your hands held the other at the back of her neck, underneath the warmth of her tress.
With ease, the Yautja stood up, one hand underneath your butt. Her large, muscular legs carrier her back over to the couch, where her tablet was discarded to the side. Gawtin sat down in the previous spot mentioned before. This time, with you. Her hand easily found her tablet again.
One hand was kept on your back, softly stroking up and down the length of it. The other was holding onto the forementioned device, retuning back to the book. A purr was vibrating in her chest as the two of found a comfortable position to enjoy each other’s company.
“Mama!” Qui called for Gawtin the moment after the two of you found peace. You turned your head to gaze down at the small child. He reached out with both of his hands to you. It was the universal sign to be picked up. One action you were happy to conduct.
Though, he was the size of a three old, his mass was about twice, possibly thrice of one. You were thankful for the hand on your back to help stabilize yourself. The kid was contently placed in the space between the two of you. Qui laid with his back to you, on top of Gawtin, in the same position as you. Little bugger stole the best seat in the house!
You sighed dramatically and mindfully flopped on top of him. Qui squeaked and squirmed underneath you. “Mama, mama, I squished!” he cried to his mother. Said parent figure gave him a look then returned back to reading.
You patted the top of his head. “You tried, kiddo.” Said youngster mumbled like he had my full weight on him random sounds. Qui stayed still now, content in his new position and quickly falling asleep. You gentle ran a thumb across his much smaller mandibles, softly gazing at him. If there was a possibility with Gawtin, you would have to think about having a child. But the one here, he was enough for the time being.

I am a huge cycling fan, and tour de France just finish today. And it got me thinking..what if Hotch gets all self conscious about himself not being as fit as he once was, when he finds out his (younger) girlfriend have a soft spot for cyclists. And she have to show him just how much she loves him and his soft tummy and bring held in his strong arms.
send me some blurb requests!

It wasn't often that Aaron gave into his insecurities. They were always there, lingering in the back of his mind, waiting to jump out and ruin his day, but he usually kept them there, fighting them back simply because he had other things to do than worry.
Not this time, though.
He'd seen your rapt attention focused on the television, cyclists pouring through the countryside on their bikes. You had watched it so excitedly, in a trance from what he presumed were the impressive physiques of the cyclists themselves.
A physique which he did not have. He used to, he used to be young and fit and toned, but as he went up in years, he went up in size, and he found his stomach soft in front of the bathroom mirror.
Not only soft, but scarred. Nine stab wounds to the torso weren't easily forgotten, mentally or physically, and he realized with a disdainful glance at himself that he was no longer young, fit, or toned.
And of course, the one day he gave into his insecurities, you happened to catch him in the act. You pushed open the bathroom door, intent on grabbing a headband to use while you washed your face, and found him shirtless in front of the mirror, his jeans unbuttoned to give himself the full view of his stomach.
He immediately looked away from you, though he could only see your reflection in the mirror. He didn't want to see you, didn't want to analyze your expression and pick out the loathing from it, the judgement, the distaste.
He scrambled for his shirt that was folded neatly on the counter, but he didn't get it over his head before you stopped him.
"Aaron," You spoke, your voice tentative, "Any reason you're glaring at your reflection?"
"I'm not glaring," He laughed carefully at you, feigning confusion as he tried maneuvering your hand off of his arm so that he could slip his shirt on, "How was the race?"
Your hand tightened around his arm, "Stop."
He let out an exasperated sigh, berating himself for not being a better liar. His arms slumped to his sides, taking his shirt with them and leaving him bare-chested before you.
He watched you, waiting for you to speak like a scorned child. If he had any less control over his emotions, there would have been tears brimming in his dark eyes.
"The race was okay." You brushed away a clump of fuzz from the t-shirt that had landed on his stomach, "Missed you, though. You should come and watch with me."
Aaron didn't like watching the races. He didn't like seeing you fawn so continuously over men that looked like he did 20 years ago. He didn't like seeing you not attracted to him.
"Maybe next time." He supplied weakly.
"You mean next year?" You raised an eyebrow at him, "Please, Aaron, just tell me what's wrong."
"They.." He chose his words carefully, "They're very fit. The cyclists."
"Mm-hmm," You nodded slowly, starting to catch on, "And?"
"And you like them. A lot." He clarified, his eyes downcast to the shaggy rug below his feet.
"I like you a lot too," You remind him, slipping your hands into his, "Like, a lot."
"But I'm not- Listen. I know that I.. leave a lot to be desired. Physically. Like, my body." He was rambling, tripping over his words as they tumbled out of his mouth. They dragged your brows down into a deep frown, a grouchy pout on your face as you chided him.
"Don't say that."
"But I-"
"Don't. Say. That."
Aaron had faced homicidal psychopaths, serial killers on the loose, child molesters holding their victims hostage, and more terrors that he couldn't even begin to list. But never had he faced anything as scary to him as the look on your face.
"I love you, Aaron, all of you. If i wanted someone more fit, don't you think I would have tried making moves on someone else by now? I see Derek at least once a week for the little dinners you guys host," You point out, "And you haven't seen me checking him out, have you?"
He looked down instead of answering you, but you let his hands go, taking his cheek in your palm to turn it back towards you. Your other hand braced itself against his tummy, the pliant skin soft under your fingers.
"Have you?" You ducked slightly to make eye-contact with him, and he shook his head, his lips twitching in their surly frown.
"I love your body." You stated simply, pinching his stomach lightly between your fingers, "I love laying on your tummy, and kissing it until you let out that little giggle of yours."
He blushed scarlet at your mention of his laugh, one that was rarely heard outside of any ticklish situations, "And I love your arms," You let go of his stomach, squeezing his bicep, "I mean, holy shit, Aaron, these are fantastic."
He let out a bashful chuckle at your praise, "Thank you, Y/N. I'm sorry you have to.. I'm sorry you have to do this for me."
"I don't have to." You reminded him, "I want to."
"Why do you want to?"
You stared at him blankly for a moment, then quick as a flash, leaned down to sink your teeth into the bare skin of his bicep. He yelped indignantly, and you mumbled around his arm, "'Cause I get to do this!"

You Belong With Me Part 2
I wrote this instead of doing my physics homework, I hope you enjoy, especially @grimmbunniee who gave me the inspiration for a part 2
You can read Part 1 here
You avoid Eddie like the fucking plague all weekend. You couldn’t face him, not after he told you he was in love with you yet slept with Chrissy Cunningham. Monday rolls around and you regret letting Eddie take you and your sister to school everyday. As you finish packing up your lunches, you call out for Max.
“Max hurry up or we will be late”
“What do you mean late? We have 10 more minutes until we have to leave with munson.” She replies Snatching her lunch off the counter.
“We are riding the bus today,” you said under your breath. You love your sister, but she can be really harsh and you don't need her judgemental eyes right now.
“Seriously y/n? You and Munson get into a fight and I’m the one who has to suffer”
“Come on Max let’s just go” you say, pulling her out the front door to walk to the bus stop.
Just as Eddie was exiting his trailer to get in his van he noticed you and Max climbing up the steps of the bus. He remembered confessing his love to you at the party even though he was extremely drunk.
The whole day you avoided Eddie, dodging him was simple because you knew his whole schedule. You knew the hallways he walked down and the classes he had, so you just carefully went the opposite direction.
That’s until lunch rolled around. You were going to just eat your bagged lunch in the outside hallway but you knew if you did that max would most likely come looking for you, further bringing you avoidance of Eddie to the rest of the parties attention. You walk in slowly, mentally deciding that you will sit next to Max and act like nothing has happened. Once you start approaching the table you look up to see Chrissy running over to sit in Eddie's lap. He wore a huge grin and they both looked genuinely happy.. at least at this moment. You sit down not making any acknowledgement towards Eddie’s presence as you listen to Dustin talk about his science fair project. As lunch ended, Max turned to you and said, “don’t get on the bus to go home I’m not riding in the death trap again” you respond with an eye roll and “you really want to walk home? That would take us at least 45 minutes”
“No” she responded, “I called Steve he said he would be happy to give us a ride” at that comment Eddie began to choke on his pretzels. He coughed loudly, grabbing towards his water bottle for a drink.
“Oh my god are you ok?” You looked at him with an honest look of concern.
He nodded back trying to catch his breath. You went to ask him again just to be sure but the lunch bell rang snapping you out of your concern.
When the end of the school day came you met Max at your usual spot in front of the school. You were upset with her, you didn’t mind Steve but you also weren’t the biggest fan of him. Back in his ‘King Steve’ days he definitely wasn’t the nicest to you.
“Why the hell would you think it is ok to call Steve?” You said angrily as you approached Max.
She rolled her eyes, something she did all the time and definitely something she picked up from you.
“I don’t see what the big deal is? You somehow managed to make us lose our ride so I got us a new one. I’m not riding that damn bus”
“You know you aren’t too good for that bus. That’s your problem max you think you are so much better than everyone around you” you didn’t mean to pick a fight with your sister. You’ve always been the one to take care of her but right now you felt like she crossed the line.
“Well excuse me, it’s not my fault you are in fucking love with Eddie but too much of an idiot to admit it to him!”
Just as you were getting ready to yell back at her Steve pulled up in his car and honked as he rolled the window down. “Hey ladies!” He calls out to you and max “I heard you were in need of a ride”
You sigh as you adjust your backpack and give Max a very annoyed look. You both start heading over to Steve, you want to get in the back but Max jumps in as you open the door so you decide to sit up front. Eddie spots you as he is walking next to Chrissy getting an ear full about how he doesn’t support her cheerleading as much as he should.
“Well how are the two pretty red heads of Hawkins High doing?” Steve said with a smile. You just sit in the passenger seat, arms crossed.
“Well I would be doing great since I got an A on my biology test but my sister insists on being the biggest bitch at Hawkins High” Max comments.
“You know what? This was dumb. I’ll just try to catch the bus since I’m not too good to ride it” you say as you start to get out.
“Come on y/n, let me just give you a ride this time. The bus has already left and you’ll be stuck walking for sure.”
You sigh and shut the door.
The ride home was quiet. As soon as he pulled up in front of your trailer, Max bolted out.
“Thanks for the ride, we appreciate it” you say quietly as you pull your backpack up to get out.
“Anytime” Steve says.
Before you exit the car, Steve gently grabs your arm.
“I need to apologize to you Red, I didn’t mean all those things I said in high school. I was just dumb and trying to fit in. I think you are really cool and I would love to get to know you better”
You smile, “I can only accept your apology if you give Dio a chance. And I mean a real chance”
“Anything for you” Steve said laughing as you pulled the tape out of your backpack and handed it to him.
“You know, this means we are going to have to see each other again soon so I can give this tape back. Preferably longer than the 5 minute drive from the school to your house?” He said as he fidgeted with the tape.
“How about Friday night?” You said with a smile.
“It’s a date”
As the week passed by you focused less and less on Eddie and Chrissy and more on Steve. He was actually a really nice guy. He was really caring and listened to you. He continued to give you and your sister a ride to and from school every day as you promised that you were saving up every penny you had to hopefully get your own car soon.
As you walked up to the hellfire table to sit down Dustin said “well well well, who do we have here?” You furrowed your eyebrows unsure of what he was talking about.
“It just so happens Steve said he couldn’t give us a ride home after Hellfire tonight because he would be on a date…” Dustin started, and Mike finished “..with you!” a huge grin covering his face.
“I never thought I would see the day that you and Harrington actually got along” Dustin said with a laugh as you blushed.
Eddie approached the table, Chrissy hanging on to his arm, “what are we talking about over here? Hopefully about the new character sheets you all should have done for tonight”
“Y/n won’t be able to make it, she has a date” Dustin said wiggling his brows.
Eddie coughed, “a date? With who”
You didn’t say anything, piling a cracker into your mouth as quickly as possible.
“Steve! Steve actually asked her out! I never thought I would witness such an event” Dustin laughed clearly not reading the room.
Eddie laughed, “seriously Harrington? You’ve got to be kidding me”
“What? He’s too good for me too? What does it matter to you anyway” you said as you scowled at him.
“I’m just saying he is not your type at all, Mayfield”
“That’s rich coming from you” you rolled your eyes.
“What’s that supposed to mean?
“Oh I don’t know, just that last week you were telling me how in love you were with me and how Chrissy wasn’t your type at all yet here you are with her hanging all over you like a prize or something” you didn’t mean for that to come out in front of the whole table.
Eddie sat there scrabbling to find words. Chrissy sat there for a moment taking in the new information you just released before getting up, grabbing the carton of milk off of Gareth’s tray and pouring it on Eddie’s head. Once it was empty she tossed the carton in your direction and ran off.

Lmao ignore me if u want but I have two questions
How would Kai be as a werewolf alpha???
And if he was a demigod like percy Jackson would would he be the son of???????
Tumblr media
Here is a picture of our pookie as an apology
First of all, that gif is making me absolutely FERAL. Second, I want to bite him. [you have a lovely clavicle; i'm a neck person; that's just silly, you can't stop being a neck person] Third, you never bother me, I promise! I love answering these & talking to you through them (& comments)! I've just been so out of sorts lately with my home life and work life - both chaotic - but desperately have been needing to get back in the swing of things in terms of writing / posting / answering!
Now, to tackle these questions that have both brought hearts to my eyes... (and I was so excited, I made dividers to split them up)
tw: some nsfw (can I even write that on tumblr anymore?) on the wolf portion, but no warnings on the demigod part
Tumblr media
#1 - werewolf alpha kai
FUCK
do notttt get me started on wolf kai; how the fuuuck have I not wolf-i-fied him yet 😭😭
okay. I had it down so bad for jacob in the great edward vs jacob debacle of the 2000s. I was OBSESSED with wolves / werewolves in general, too
funnily enough, I don't give a damn for the wolves in tvd. Tyler's fine. Hayley is fine in TO (not tvd tho lmao). The rest in TVD / TO are whatever; the ones in Legacies are HORRID
BUT wolf!kai would be sooo hot; alpha wolf kai especially, oh heaven help me
this man is already dominant & controlling, and with his SO, protective, but add that wolf gene and he's tenfold
he'd be an absolute menace... to damon, to tyler, to mystic falls in general, & maybe even to klaus... & to my ovaries...
starting off, let's just picture him as a wolf
i was actually thinking about this the other day... what if the actual reason that he was "an abomination" was if he had the wolf gene on top of the siphon gene somehow. like, joshua wasn't his real father, or his mother wasn't his real mother, idk, but joshua HATES him for it (kinda like klaus)
kai's childhood is the same - violent, abusive, isolated - and he ends up in the '94 PW the same way, but while kai shows damon and bonnie his ability to siphon, he never reveals the wolf part
when he gets back to the real world, he's going to have to transition again, bc he's no longer on a repeating loop of the same day, so he carefully plans for this
he makes sporadic disappearances throughout the month, so that no one ever catches on to him being absent on full moons
the only reason he's caught, is because [reader] stumbles upon him entering / coming off his transition, but lucky she's been crushing on him or is a wolf herself
if i were to write this out, this is as much plot as i've developed. i would add a bit in there, too, where she mentions klaus, maybe she has a connection to him, and they both can commiserate on their similar childhoods together
but that's all i've got so far; idk if i'm doing anything with it
regardless, wolfy kai!
SO
he'd be so much more temperamental & combative
if damon were to know, he'd be like, oh ffs not another one
but this gene also makes him stronger than if he were just a witch
imagine Tyler's fondness for fight picking + Kai's own flirty / cocky attitude + werewolf lore behavior + alpha behavior, and you've got a dangerous mix wrapped up in one very attractive man, i mean, just look at the gif
whether you're a wolf or not, he puts himself in charge of protecting you, even if you're quite capable of defending yourself
he has to have an arm or a leg wrapped around you, too, and is always on alert, even in his sleep
is also a very cuddly sleeper, is a big spoon, and will throw a fit if he can't sleep with you for some reason
when he's alone with you, he's his usual goofy self, and maybe takes a second to get himself under control in serious situations
but also as an alpha, still knows when to snap into his dominant demeanor when the situation calls for it
now... i've thought up several different scenarios where we could have wolfy kai... and since i'm me, i also have an nsfw section
...so here's that one first
breeding kink would be off the charts
especially as an alpha, where it's so innate, and if he has a pack, a desire to keep it going & keep it strong
and like tyler mentioned, "being horny all the time"
huge biting kink, but only if you're a wolf, too
play bites as a way to show affection, but bites during sex, too
bites in places visible to others; always marking you as his
again, dominant, and would be one to pin you down or keep a hand on your throat as a means of control
would be so into praising you, during & after, telling you how well you did & how proud he is (& how good of a mom you're gonna be jfdsnls)
on the flip side, i don't think he'd be much into exhibitionism / voyeurism because he'd want you all for himself & would not want anyone to see you in one of your most vulnerable states
however, if you were in a pack and someone was hitting on you & not taking any hints that you're taken, he'd probably engage it in to some degree just to teach that someone a lesson that you're his
wolf!reader x wolf!kai
when you're nesting, he's already getting excited. tries to stick his nose in your business, though, and several times, you've bitten his nose to get him out of your space, but he just gets more excited
when ~the time~ finally comes, he tries to control himself, but sometimes gets lost in the pleasure
you have to safeword somewhat often, which he always respects
and his aftercare is always perfect, regardless if you used the word or not
outside of the sexual realm, you are always together
it takes some time to sink into his stubborn head, but you protect him as much as he protects you, and he's very grateful for it
the two of you are your own little pack
and tyler is very jealous of it
eyes roll all across the room when you enter, because the MF gang is pre-preparing for the sass and stubbornness they're about to face; you compliment him well, much to their dismay
but on the bright side, he kills much less, and only threatens or kills if someone threatens himself or you
on a side note, i can see tyler trying to recreate your bond with liv, and her not wanting any part of that wolfishness
she will date him but she won't engage with that, especially considering tyler's wolf-associated anger issues, and kai being her brother who she wants nothing to do with
...but, she has to hand it to you for getting him under control & to her absolute disbelief that it could happen, loving him the way you do (jo, too, is practically astonished, however grateful - he is her twin, after all)
non-wolf!reader x wolf!kai
now, if you're a vamp, he has to be very careful not to bite
tricky during sex sometimes; difficult when you insist on helping him transition
it's much of a caroline x tyler thing; you refuse to leave him but he's terrified of hurting you
whether you're human, or a witch, or a vampire, he could hurt you, and the thought terrifies him
is insistent on a buddyship with damon or stefan, so that they can call klaus if an emergency ever occurs
both are reluctant, but are friends with you, and if something ever does happen, they'd hate for you to suffer, so they do
klaus gets involved & he and kai bond more than anyone would've anticipated
maybe kai reminds klaus a bit of himself - his childhood, his difficult relationships with his siblings, his fancy for one person in particular; maybe kai also reminds him a bit of kol, his own brother with a head full of sarcasm & jokes and a penchant for violence
although, if this is alpha!kai, klaus would notice that immediately and would have an, oh shit, this kid's powerful, moment that would knock him off his feet
kai might not even realize the strength he has, or he does, but doesn't let on to anyone that he knows how powerful he is
regardless of which, klaus knows he has to stay on his good side, and maybe he tells stefan to do the same for his own good
as long as no one becomes a threat, kai keeps his cool, but that alpha side comes out when he's protecting you or himself
and that, for whoever poor soul, is fucking terrifying
Tumblr media
#2 - demigod parent
alright... first thought was Hades bc he's so dark & eerie
then I was like nah, way too much of a basic answer, just to tag anyone with a closed off personality and dark clothes as a Hades' kid (don't get me wrong, I love Nico, but in comparison, he & Kai are nothing alike)
Kai just doesn't have the personality of Hades' kids; he is way more than the dark witch he's made out to be by writers
he's extremely talkative, rather lively, & outgoing
ofc he's got that unpredictability & hair-raising ability to slink around like a cat without being noticed (i.e. stalking damon and bonnie for 4 months without their knowledge), but he doesn't scream child of Hades when we learn how talkative and touchy he actually is
so then, bc I haven't read PJO in 6 years, I did some research
Ares became a possibility... he's got some anger issues & is good with a knife
however, he doesn't seem like a child of war
most of his childhood, we can assume, he spent trying to avoid his father's anger & disapproval
sibling murder was the last resort for a depressed, distanced kid who was taught life didn't matter as long as the coven survived
and as vengeful and argumentative as he is, I wouldn't put him in a box with Clarisse, who picked fights 24/7
Hecate came to mind, but as a siphon, I think maybe not
if it was Hecate, he'd probably be outcasted by his half-siblings (and then I'd have to fight them, and it'd be a whole thing), so I took Hecate out of the choices
then, after more research, the obvious answer became Hermes
Kai is such a little shit
he's funny, sarcastic, and just seems like the guy to love a good prank
he's very smart, and can be manipulative if he wants / needs to be
his half siblings would more or less equal him in intelligence and personality, so he wouldn't feel the need to slice & dice them
(and also, doesn't Hermes have the most kids? bc his parents had a fuck ton of kids, so Kai would totally be used to having SO MANY siblings)
(plus unclaimed kids stayed in Hermes' cabin & Kai knows what it's like to be a family reject; they can commiserate)
not to mention, Luke was a child of Hermes, and I vaguely remember he went a little dark & crazy, too
granted, that could happen to anyone, but I can see Kai & Luke being like, hey, half-sibling, ~you're just as sane as I am~
now...
I also considered Aphrodite, and stay with me, bc he's so fucking gorgeous (I mean, again, look at that gif), and it would be cool to have a child of love with his emotions so turned off
imagine his father was so abusive (which he was), that Kai was so shut off when he got to camp
everyone shared rumors about his parentage; whispers of Hades circulated the most
but then it's Aphrodite who claims him, and everyone, Kai included, is shocked
for awhile, his siblings kinda outcast him & he's feeling it; he has definitely considered running away
but someone gives him a chance, maybe someone who feels equally unlike their godly parent approaches him & gains his trust, or maybe it's someone who doesn't like to see others treated the way his half-siblings are treating him
either way, he slowly opens up to them & begins to trust them; they return these feelings to him
with time, he gets fiercely protective & caring towards that person; he shows love in his own ways
eventually, his siblings start to see it & open up to him
once Kai realizes they're being genuine, he shows them similar attention, care, & protection
he might not be the typical child of Aphrodite, but his dulled emotions start to come through once he's given a chance & a safe space
... But as much as I love this headcanon, I say he's 100% child of Hermes. He just fits the bill completely, and I freaking love it.

Norman Tyrus x Fem!SecretRelationship!Reader || Drabble
Tumblr media
Plot: This is set in the world of This Headcanon Set! Reader is the femme fatale of the group and, while on the road, she helps Norman trim his beard and it provides some quality alone (ish) time between you when your relationship is a secret from Wayne and Dale.
Warnings: Norman definitely has a 'daddy' thing about him here XD Complimenting you for 'behaving' and calling you 'little girl'. Unedited.
Tagging: @marinerainbow and @slxsherwriter .
You're perched on your knees in the drivers seat as Norman sits in the passenger seat facing the front; getting his beard neatened by you with some itty bitty hair cutting scissors. You're very focused, eyebrows knit together and focused as you hold yourself still on his shoulder and carefully snip away at the overgrown mess. Sure, you think its sexy when his beard grows out a bit- but he doesn't. So you help him!
Plus, with the doors closed and Dale and Wayne outside of the car- you can count this as a mini date! And you missed being alone with him; this trip cramped in this car constantly with the two dumbasses has gone on for way-too-long already. You just want to go back to Monroe County, send Dale and Wayne home and keep Norman to yourself for a few good hours. In fact, you want that so bad that you kind of wonder if Lyle knows about you and Norman- and he's doing this on purpose. Testing you.
What a bastard, you huff, frown increasing.
Norman notices the shift in your mood, despite how small and momentary it is, and his eyes shift in his head to look at you. "... you good?"
... Instead of insulting his brother during the one short moment you two have had alone for a week, you stop snipping for a moment and nod, pasting on a smile full of assurance. "Yeah, all good." You quip.
"How come I don't believe you?" He asks, that slow drawl of his ever-present and usually so sexy-- though right now, you kind of wish he didn't sound so sure.
Sighing, your smile goes a little sad; slumping against the seat next to you. "... I just miss you." Its not a lie, but its not the full truth, either. Its enough to old him, for now. He'll have to learn about your suspicions eventually; you aren't the kind of couple to hide things (well not from each other) , no matter how unpleasant the truth might be. And Norman's good at taking things in his stride, he has never once yelled at you or gotten mad at you at all, so you know it wont start a fight... but you still just don't want to get into this n o w. Now, you just wanna enjoy a soft, quiet moment with your boyfriend.
... quiet-ish. Dale just threw a clump of dirt and grass at Wayne outside the car.
Sighing and almost absentmindedly locking the car doors so Wayne doesn't come ducking for cover inside, Norman shifts a little to look at you better. "I'm right here, baby." He tells you, softly. Still in that terrifying drawl, but, a notch warmer.
"You know what I mean... " You borderline-whine, pouting. Physical proximity is just not the same as when you can act like a couple.
"Yeah... I do." The windows are tinted, so Norman feels comfortable picking up your hand in his; squeezing it between you both on the console. "But look, Lyle says we've just got a couple more days out here, then we can go home. And I promise to take you out on the best date so far. You deserve it, little girl." Godddd, why does he say stuff like that!? Doesn't he know how hard it is not to kiss him when he does!? "You've been so good this past week, behavin' and helping us out... I gotta thank you, don't I?"
"... you could thank me by ditching these two here and getting a motel room for a couple hours with me." You say bluntly, even though you know thats not possible. You know you're being petulant, but its been a week!!!-
Norman releases a chuckle at you, thinking you're being 'cute' or something- puh. You're not being cute, you're being impatient. "Babygirl, you know I'd love that. But you know we cant."
"Yeah... " You give a drawn-out, dramatic sigh. He's still holding your hand though, you still have that despite your trip, so you look longingly down there.
He rubs a comforting thumb over your knuckles. "What can I do to make my girl smile?" When you don't say anything, his grin widens a little bit. "... What if I say fuck the system and you get to pick the road snacks today?"
Eyes rolling, you cross your free arm, with the scissors still in your hand, over your stomach. "... but its Wayne's turn... " Bleh.
"Screw Wayne, he'll live. And he ain't my girl."
Still mopey, you refuse to look him in the eye. "Well I mean, you'd hope not, considering he's your cousin- "
"Y/N."
"Okay yeah, that would be good." You smile at him, brightening up as you think about what's on the way to where you're going today and what you can get. And also how good you have it with Norman, how good he is to you in these silly, little ways. "Thank you."
"Wish I could do more. Anything you want."
"Yeah, well... " Giving a shrug and a sigh, you give him a hopeless look. "We agreed- its better if the others don't know. For now."
Now Norman is the one looking frustrated- irritated. "Yeah, well I'm rethinkin' that idea more and more the longer this trip draws out."
You squeeze his hand, trying to contain your excitement because you k n o w you two have made the right decision. Its not time yet. "Me too. But- "
"I know." He gently cuts you off, giving you a comforting, monotonous grin. "I know, baby."
"... god I wish I could kiss you now." You huff, making you both chuckle. Norman looks out the front window of the car now, seeing the guys standing side-by-side against a fence now, facing the cars way; evidently over the dirt-throwing.
For a few moments you're both silent, watching Dale and Wayne chuckling over whatever nefarious, gross, ill-conceived joke they made up. Part of you is waiting for them to walk away so and Norman can share a quick kiss- but they don't move an inch. Dale even looks up at the two you, notices you watching them, and gives a half-waive.
"... so, how's my beard lookin'?" Norman finally breaks the silence.
You give him a moments assessment; sighing out a thoughtful 'hum'. "Hmmm... Sexy."
Noman flashes you a devastating smirk, and folds his fingers through the car doorhandle. "Okay then, lets go."
~ 3 Days Later, as soon as Wayne and Dale leave Norman's apartment ~
The second the door clicks shut behind Dale, you flick the lock and then skip/bound over to Norman; throwing your arms and legs around him. He catches you, securing you against his body, and connects his lips with yours in a searing hot make-out. After a week and a half the kiss is not likely to end any time soon, but you still feel desperate for each other. You part your lips for his tongue and run your hands down his chest, feeling him for the first time in what feels like ages.
Its going to be a long night.

shenanigans of jihyo
(just something small for now)
ever since jihyo got more clingy with nayeon and jeongyeon, she would outright refuse to sleep in her crib at night, even though she spent her first few weeks with nayeon and jeongyeon only wanting to be in her crib.
it usually wasn't hard to put her down for a nap in her crib, but bedtime was a very different story. the poor little would scream and cry until jeongyeon would eventually come and bring her back to the primary bedroom to sleep with her and nayeon.
after some long talks between nayeon and jeongyeon, they decided it would be best to try and get jihyo used to sleeping in her crib at night. the journey would be tough, but it would be beneficial for all three of them in the long run.
on the first night, jihyo went through her normal night routine as per usual, until it was time for her to sleep. now, jihyo didn't have a specific bedtime, but nayeon and jeongyeon would try to get her to sleep before 12 at least, which would only happen on good days.
once jeongyeon noticed jihyo was rubbing her eyes and yawning while she was playing with her toys, she knew it was time for bed.
"alright peanut, its night-night time." jeongyeon said as she hoisted the little up, earning whines from her. "nooo mama.." jihyo protested, still wanting to play with her toys. "i know baby, but you need sleep. you'll be grumpy tomorrow if you don't sleep." jeongyeon patted jihyo's back, attempting to comfort her.
once they reached jihyo's bedroom, jeongyeon let out a long sigh, knowing that this was going to be a long night. luckily, she picked a day when she knew she wouldn't have work the next day. after a quick diaper change and a tickle fight, the battle to put jihyo to bed in her own bed would begin.
"you have your sippy cup, your paci, and your babies (referring to jihyo's owl plush, puppy plush, and baby blanket). i think you're all set for bed, lovebug." jeongyeon listed, feeling surprised at how calm jihyo was at the moment. once the older woman started to gently push jihyo down so she could be in a laying position, the waterworks started.
jeongyeon had to take everything in her to not take her little girl back to the primary bedroom and hold her and tell her she was never going to leave her, but she knew this would be for the better. "i'm so sorry my love, but you have to be a big girl tonight and go night-night in your own bed."
jihyo sobbed a bit before muttering out a soft "mama". jeongyeon's heart broke at the sound of jihyo's trembling voice, but she knew she had to stay strong. she knelt down beside the crib, gently stroking jihyo's cheek with her thumb. "i'm here, sweetpea. mama is right here with you. you're my special girl, you got that?" she whispered, her voice filled with reassurance and comfort.
nayeon stood in the doorway, watching the emotional scene unfold right in front of her eyes. she noticed that jeongyeon was struggling, the woman was torn between wanting to comfort jihyo and sticking to the plan they had discussed. sensing jeongyeon wasn't doing well, nayeon stepped forward and placed a hand on her wife's shoulder.
"jeongie, i know this is hard, but we need to be consistent with this," nayeon said softly. "jihyo needs to learn that her crib is a safe and comfortable place to sleep at night. we'll be right here if she needs us, this change doesn't mean we love her any less."
jeongyeon nodded, her eyes filling with tears. she took a deep breath and continued to talk to jihyo in a soothing tone, "mama and mommy love you so much, everything will be just fine and you are completely safe right where you are."
jihyo's cries started to ease up as she listened to the comforting words of her mama. she clutched her stuffed owl tightly, seeking comfort from it's warmth. jeongyeon carefully tucked the blanket around her, ensuring she felt secure and cozy in her crib.
as jihyo settled into the familiar surroundings of her nursery, jeongyeon and nayeon sat down near the crib, nayeon on the rocking chair and jeongyeon on the ottoman that goes with the rocking chair. they continued to stay close, providing a constant presence for jihyo, ready to comfort her if she needed it.
the first few minutes felt like an eternity, with jihyo tossing and turning, expressing her discomfort with small whimpers and cries. jeongyeon fought the urge to scoop her up and hold her, reminding herself this was necessary if the three of them wanted to get a good night's rest.
gradually, jihyo's sobs turned into soft sniffles, with her eyelids growing heavy. she reached out for her puppy plush and held it tightly, inhaling the familiar perfume that was sprayed onto the weighted toy. jeongyeon and nayeon exchanged relieved glances, hoping that everything was going to work out.
the room grew quiet, the only sounds being jihyo's gentle breathing and the soft hum of the owl nightlight on the other side of the room. this was until the little's cries started up again. jeongyeon groaned before getting up to check and make sure she was okay.
jihyo raised her arms, wanting to be held more than anything. jeongyeon choked back tears, rubbing her baby's tummy to try and calm her down instead of picking her up, knowing it wouldn't end well if she did pick her up.
up until now, jeongyeon was surprisingly able to stay strong during all of this. she thought she would be successful, until jihyo spoke up. "m-mama.. p'ease.." she held her arms out, desperate for love and attention from her beloved jeongyeon.
fuck it. jeongyeon couldn't take it anymore. she picked jihyo up as fast as she could, her heart hurting at the way she wrapped her legs around her waist. ignoring the protests from nayeon to let her stay in the crib, jeongyeon swiftly walked off to the primary bedroom with jihyo in her arms.
jeongyeon got into bed carefully, snuggling jihyo close to her. nayeon soon followed into bed, also wanting to give some extra love to her little girl. their hearts melted at how adorable jihyo looked, her cheeks were puffed out and she had jeongyeon's sleep shirt bunched in her hand.
the night ended how it ends almost every night, with jihyo asleep on top of her mama's chest.

A Bard & A Harpy’s Song
Tumblr media
[Astarion x Named Tav]
The singing caught Phayelynn's attention first. Then it was the shore below, a small beach hidden over the hill, covered by cliffs and birch trees. She almost would have missed it if she hadn't been told it was here.
"It's beautiful," Astarion's usual sultry voice was airy, creeping up on her unexpectedly.
Phayelynn jumped, turning to see him and Gale not too far behind her. She hadn't heard him following her, hadn't expected him to. Or Gale, for that matter, though she was far less surprised to see him coming after her. She knew they disapproved of this fool's errand. She looked forward, peering down the hill and down to the shore. Astarion was right, it was beautiful- the view and the singing, but it also felt wrong. Something was watching, something was luring them in. A flash of recognition came across her face, her nose scrunching in fear.
This was a Harpy's song. Dangerous, infectious, intent on drowning out all logical thoughts as it lulled its audience to their deaths past the crashing waves.
__
I actually really loved writing the combat in this chapter. I was nervous at first but I'm pretty happy with what I got! Also I hope you enjoy the choas Phayelynn brought- it's very accurate to how I play her. When in doubt thunderwave and laughter!
What's everyone's favorite, go-to spell? Obviously, mine is Thunderwave lol.

A Bard & A Harpy’s Song
The singing caught Phayelynn’s attention first, then it was the shore below, a small beach hidden over the hill, covered by cliffs and birch trees.
Was someone singing? The melody lured her closer, appealing to all her senses while putting her in an unsettling alertness. She started to slow, having only just realized how much of a blur the walk had been up to that point.
She had been so angry when Arabella’s parents had told her about Mirkon, the missing tiefling boy. No one in this damned place seemed to care genuinely? Or have any sense of urgency to help find him? It had left a pit in her stomach-
Someone was definitely singing. She couldn’t help but think again, growing distracted and picking up her step again.
“It’s beautiful,” Astarion’s usual sultry voice was airy, creeping up behind her unexpectedly.
Phayelynn jumped. She hadn’t heard him following her, hadn’t expected him to. Or Gale, for that matter, though she was less surprised to see him trailing behind Astarion.
She knew they disapproved of this fool’s errand.
Unlike Astarion, Gale held a look of determination and seriousness.  She caught his eye, and he gave her a curt nod, “I suggest we dread forward carefully-”
“Yeah, yeah, carefully, I know.” She rolled her eyes. She noted his habit of repeating himself. She heard it again. Singing. Astarion was right, it was beautiful, but something felt wrong. She looked forward, peering down the hill and down to the shore. She shifted on tiptoes, trying to get a better look. “Do you hear that? That singing?”
She didn’t know why she had bothered asking as she didn’t allot any time for Gale to answer. A small figure stood at the shoreline. She knew it wasn’t the source of the harmony, instead getting the hunch that this was the boy.
“Hey, kid!” she shouted without another thought, taking off to reach him.
“Ah, Phayelynn, perhaps you were wrong to cut me off? I had suggested we use caution!” Gale called after her, his hold on his staff tightening, dreading where this would most likely lead them.
His voice seemed to snap whatever bewitching trance Astarion had been taken over by as the pale elf blinked awake. It took a few seconds to gather himself, his red eyes fighting to focus against the sun beating down on them. His mind worked fast to catch himself up, an amused, almost relaxed expression taking over him as he stood loosely. He rubbed his chin as he watched Phayelynn reach the boy.
“Haha,” he laughed, “she clearly doesn’t know the word’s meaning. I guess it’s our fault for being so slow picking that up.”
The sweet melody only got louder the closer Phayelynn reached the shoreline. The boy hadn’t noticed her, too entranced. He looked on dreamingly across to an enclave of tall rocks. It sent a shiver up her spine. Something was watching them. She could feel it as the tune picked up. She grasped the boy’s shoulder, giving him a gentle shake.
“You’re Mirkon, right?” she tightened her grip when he still didn’t acknowledge her.  She tugged at him, turning him around to face her. Her eyes widened, meeting his own, dark but held by pink and purple hues. Phayelynn began to get an idea of what they were up against. What was luring them into their cove. “We need to get out of here,”
“Sshh..” he finally looked at her, though she could tell he wasn’t all there yet, “Listen,” he pulled himself out of her hold and turned around. He took a step closer to the water.
“Whoa, whoa, let’s not do that now.” She reacted quickly, pulling him back by his arm before he could step foot in the salty water. He stumbled until she settled him straight, keeping his feet firmly planted in the sand. The song reached another high, the angelic voices echoing around them in warning.
This was a Harpy’s song, a dangerous, infecting song that drowns out all logical thought, lulling its audience to their deaths past the waves.
She turned for Gale’s help but saw his eyes much like Mirkon’s, though he appeared actively fighting against it. He held onto his head, forcing himself to step back before the song could fully get its hook into him. Astarion was worse as he moved past her to get a closer look. She let go of the boy and grasped Astarion’s doublet, trying to pull him back but failed. He had just enough of a mind to give her a churned-up glare before taking another step forward. She didn’t relent, using both hands to forcefully drag him back, causing him to stumble and trip over his feet.
She helped steady him, like she had just done with Mirkon, but more aggressively. She snapped her fingers in front of his face a few times to no avail. His glare only intensified. She took a deep breath, unsure of herself, but knew she would need his and Gale’s help to escape. Raising a nervous hand, she flattened her palm, bringing it up and smacking it across Astarion’s cheek with a somewhat satisfying thwack.
She held her breath- waiting.
Astarion’s face contorted, blinking rapidly as he unhinged and re-hinged his jaw, shaking off her slap. When he reopened his eyes, they were still charmed, but he seemed to show no signs of trying to get closer. He was trying to resist the harpy’s charm.
It wasn’t enough although.
Phayelynn took a step back, unsure of what to do now. This was what Astarion had meant about the whole self-preservation thing. She grimaced, her mind racing to find a way out of this. She scanned the area, thankful there was no sign of the creatures causing this yet. Maybe she still had time to get them out of this?
Her shoulders slumped.
Who was she kidding? She was hardly a bard, an adventurer- or even someone confident enough in magic. She should’ve just listened to Astarion, listened to Gale-
“That’s it!” She remembered, snapping her fingers. She reached behind her, struggling for far longer than she could admit to getting her lute around her from underneath her crossbow. Once it was settled against her properly, she gave it a quick strum, ensuring it was still in tune. She winced, hearing the notes a little muddled, the strings loosening from all the jostling, but she knew she had no time to tune them to perfection.
“I am not the only traveler,” she began to sing, remembering the tale her uncle had once told her about Harpy’s. She continued, singing the first song that came to mind, hoping it would be strong enough to work as a countercharm“who has not repaid his debt…” She eyed Astarion, then Gale, seeing the colors taking over their eyes start to fade. The charm was breaking as they listened to her sing.
“I’ve been searching for a trail to follow again. Take me back to the night we met…” she strummed hard, trying to breach over the competing melody echoing off the rocks.
Mirkon was the first to break, rubbing his ears and eyes furiously. He looked up at his saviors, confused and scared. “Stop! My ears!” he held onto himself, giving Phayelynn a once over before looking down at himself. “Why am I wet?”
“Did you slap me?” Astarion raised his voice over the boy’s, rubbing his cheek angrily.
“Your ears?” Phayelynn ignored Astarion, glaring down at the boy who looked pained from her singing. She scoffed, popping her hip out in offense. She jabbed a finger down at the boy accusatory, “I don’t sound bad! I’ll have you know I have a beautiful voice-”
“Oh hells,” Gale gasped softly, though, somehow the urgency in his voice caught everyone’s attention.
The Harpies finally revealed themselves, their giant wings flapping as they flew out from their hiding spots within the rocks. One by one, they flew down from their perch, landing before them, as the leader of their flock stayed nestled up on the stones safely and singing still.
Phayelynn didn’t know she had it in her to react as she did. Still, as the three harpies landed, each letting out an ear-piercing screech, she brought her hand down, ferociously strumming against the nylon strings, letting out a satisfying chord, loud, amplified as thunder cracked, and a wave of booming purple energy emitted from her and her instrument.
Mirkon let out a yelp. Gale reached forward, seeing the boy nearly swept up in Phayelynn’s spell. He kept a firm hold of him as the harpies were forced back into the rocks and water with a shrill howl.
 Astarion wasn’t so lucky.
He let out a strangled grunt as he was thrown forward, wind rushing past his ears, the harpies now closer to him than before. As he landed, his body splashed against the water, the salt bitter against his skin, seeping through his clothes. He winced as the ringing in his ear felt worse than the harpy’s song. He was disoriented as he stood, but he knew he was surrounded.
He didn’t have time to reach for his daggers, his palm already heating up in anger from Phayelynn’s foolishness and his own. He should’ve never followed the damned girl here.
“Ignis!” he shouted, his voice strained.
His eyes widened, letting out a small gasp as he missed his target, the harpy now having eyes for him, flapping her wings threateningly. He reached for his daggers as she lunged.
“Tormentum!”
Three streaks of red flew past him, each hitting flesh with a satisfying pop. Astarion averted his eyes behind him, seeing Gale deserving of his thanks. Gale gave Astarion a nod before Mirkon a tug, telling him to run to safety. Astarion couldn’t see if the boy listened or had the chance to get away as another splash caught his ear. Turning to his right, he saw sharp claws slashing against his face.
“Ah!” He cried out, stumbling back, hand rushing to clutch the new wound.
“Hey! You oversized plucked chicken! Over here!” Phayelynn’s voice mocked, her magic weaving into the harpy’s mind before she could lay another finger on Astarion. The Harpy staggered back at her words.
Astarion used this, gritting his teeth and unsheathing his twin daggers. He struck first with his off-hand, then followed with his other, smiling as the creature fell dead, and he spat, “I’ll skin you alive, you fowl wretch.”
Gale unleashed another round of magic missiles at the three harpies as they charged to avenge their fallen sister. Asterion moved to meet them, swiping and jabbing at them, relishing as two more fell by his hand. Phayelynn saw the leader still untouched and bit her lip. How could they get to her? She had the high ground, the advantage over them. She looked around for an answer on what to do. Gale and Astarion were busy with the last harpy down below while fighting off the song that seemed to get louder.
Gale’s bag caught her eye, and her eyes widened with an idea. She rushed over to him, pulling it open.
“Excuse me? I find this highly disrespectful! You can’t go trifling in a man’s purse! And at a time like this! Phayelynn, what are you doing now-” He exclaimed, sending off a scorching ray, killing the last harpy near Astarion.
“You’re a wizard! You must have something in here that can help us-” she pushed things around, looking and prodding, frowning at what she was finding, “How many spoons does a man need?” but then a smirk appeared as she snatched out a rolled up piece of parchment. “Ah-huh! Perfect, let’s see, what does this do?” she muttered, grabbing the scroll and quickly reading over the words without truly understanding them.
How hard could it be? Wizards cast spells all the time. And Phayelynn had some inclination for magic. After all, she somehow cast whatever wave of magic she had at the beginning of this fight. She shrugged. It was better than nothing. She cleared her throat, holding the scroll up as she read the words, focusing her energy on the last harpy,
“Rezum teniates!”
There was a moment of delay where nothing happened. No spark came from her fingers, or her eyes weren’t turning aglow with source from the Weave. The harpy stood untouched, unphased by the words said by the bard. She scowled, contorting her face as she was sure she failed. She raised the scroll in front of her to double-check her pronunciation, leaning to the side to ask Gale when the creature reeled forward, holding onto its stomach in anguish before falling on its back, kicking up, and falling into an uncontrollable fit of laughter.
Phayelynn wore a shit-eating grin at the awed look Gale shot her.
“Nice work.” he nodded, genuinely impressed. “You might just have the makings of a wizard.”
Phayelynn’s heart fluttered, and her cheeks reddened.
“That’s wonderful, darlings, but could we please kill this thing already and not delay?” Astarion chastised, the cuts on his face stinging.
“Right,” Gale nodded, raising his hands to attack, “Tormentum!” Again,he cast a magic missile while Astarion followed with another firebolt, this time hitting it square on, and together, they killed the leader of the flock.
“Hey!” Phayelynn dragged out, a broad smile and hands raising in victory. “Good job team!”
Astarion let out a groan, slinking back over to the group. He was irritated by her excitement, irritated by the blood dripping down his face, irritated by the water in his boots. He was vexed, knowing this wouldn’t be the last time something like this would happen as long as he traveled with her.
“Yes, yes, excellent.” He drawled with a wave of his hand. “Can we be done with this now? Get back on track, or are there any other time-wasting, rewardless side quests you’d like to drag us on?”
Phayelynn deflated, and the adrenaline of the battle was squashed in an instant. She crossed her arms over her chest, pushing aside her lute so it hung at her side to do so. She gave Astarion a firm glare, which she saw surprised him as he cocked an eyebrow at her.
“I didn’t force you to follow me. I distinctly remember leaving you behind in the grove, and then you decided to follow.” she took a step back, “You can go find Shadowheart and Lae’zel if you want, but I’m going to go make sure the kid is okay and get back to his people just fine. I don’t care what you choose to do.”
She didn’t know where the snippiness in her voice came from, but she found it admirable. She had liked Astarion but hadn’t appreciated how he acted like she was dumb and useless. She didn’t waste time getting his reaction, turning on her heels and heading to where she spotted Mirkon crouching behind a rock.
He shook as she approached.
“A-are they gone?” his voice quivered, holding his head in his head.
“They’re gone.” Phayelynn kept her voice gentle but reassuring. “You’re safe now.”
“That’s what the voices said.” he spared her a look, and it almost broke Phayelynn’s heart with how terrified he looked.
She kneeled to get on his level and put a soothing hand on his shoulder, squeezing it. “It’s going to be okay.”
“I-I almost got to the nest but the singing-your singing, it saved me.” He gave her a weak smile.
“Let’s get you back to the grove, yeah? Let me help you,” she outreached her hand for him to take, which he did after staring at it for a few seconds, blinking as he debated whether he should trust her.
“Mol will be so mad that I’ve been gone for so long….” Mirkon sighed as he let Phayelynn pull him up and lead him back up the path to the grove.
“Well, I’ll kick Mol’s ass if they give you a hard time, deal?” Phayelynn laughed.
“I’d like to see you try!” Mirkon joked back, his hand tightening in hers.
“That scamp reminds me of myself when I was a nipper,” Gale muttered as Astarion stood beside him. They both started following Phayelynn and the boy, “Always getting into trouble.”
“I suppose a wizard such as yourself has met a lot of harpies.” Astarion looked bored as he replied. He kept watch of their surroundings not in the mood for any more surprises.
“And worse.”
Gale chuckled before telling Astarion about when his parents denied him a kitten and then about summoning a tressym. Astarion couldn’t honestly care about the story, letting out a long sigh that Gale missed. He stared after Phayelynn, wondering if she was worth trying to sway to his side. Gale was out of the question. Simply listening to him right now was too much for Astarion to take. Lae’zel and Shadowheart would catch onto his games. They’d smell something was up before he could thoroughly cook his plan against them. No, if he wanted to secure his position in this group of weirdos, it had to be the exasperating and galling bard.

You hadn’t been able to sleep for most of the night, and it was starting to piss you off. You also couldn’t toss, turn, or make frustrated noises like you usually did, because you’d just recently moved in with your boyfriend, Drew—who, adding to your frustration, was sleeping soundly beside you like a little baby.
Looking at the clock, you let out a small huff when you saw it was 3:27AM, and gently eased yourself out of Drew’s iron grip around your waist. You had just crept your way into the kitchen for a glass of water, when the craving for pancakes hit you like a truck.
Being as quiet as you could, you grabbed all the ingredients you needed. The only thing you were missing was a huge bowl to mix everything in.
The only problem was, you and Drew hadn’t unpacked much yet, seeing as you’d both had a hectic few weeks, so all your kitchen stuff was still sealed away in the cardboard boxes littering the entirety of the apartment floor. But your pancake craving was so strong, there was no way you weren’t going to make them.
Very carefully, you combed through every single box on the floor, but unfortunately came up empty. You eventually spotted the labeled box, but it was just your luck that it was the top box of the tallest stack. Maybe if you climbed up on the counter, you could reach the box.
Either you miscalculated, or your judgment was impaired by your pancake craving, because when you hopped on the counter and reached for it, your fingers ended up tipping it the opposite way. You watched in horror as the box went crashing to the floor, the contents of it falling out and rolling every which way loudly.
Before you could even react, Drew materialized from the hallway,  squinting at you with half-open eyes, and hair a fluffy brown mess on his head.
“Hi.” You said sheepishly, offering your very sleepy—but very adorable—boyfriend a guilty grin.
“What are you doing?” He asked, rubbing his eye and fighting a yawn. “And why are you standing on the counter?”
“I needed the big bowl to make pancakes.”
“At four in the morning???”
“I couldn’t sleep.” You pouted, plopping down on the counter and swinging your legs over the side. “Sorry I woke you up—turns out I’m not as tall as I thought I was.”
A flicker of a grin made its way across Drew’s face as he padded over to you with outstretched arms.
“I thought someone was breaking in, and when I didn’t feel you beside me, I got scared,” He murmured, pressing a kiss to the top of your head as his arms slid around your waist. “Next time, just wake me up, okay, sweetheart?”
“You looked so cute sleeping.” You sighed, wrapping your arms around Drew’s neck with a tiny nod. “You can go back to bed now, I got this.”
“You’re using the stove, I need to make sure you don’t burn our brand new apartment down.”
“Fuck you,” You grumbled, pushing him away with a hmph, even though you were smiling, because he was probably right. Drew laughed, grabbing your hand and pulling you back for a kiss. You kissed him back blissfully, threading your fingers through his messy bedhead.
“I love you.” He whispered against your lips.
“I love pancakes.” You giggled, wiggling out of his embrace and skipping to pick up the fallen metal bowl.
“Oh, now that’s just mean.” Drew groaned, throwing his head back with a squinty pout.
“Come on, help me make them!”
“I hate you.”
“I love you too, baby, you know I do!”
“Apparently you love pancakes more.”

The Moonshade Order is a bomb that Arcanette and Claude manage very carefully Persona au. Here's why:
Harvey can change reality if he wants to. That's already pretty bad. He can change reality and then fuck with all of them if he wanted. Only reason why he doesn't is because he's too obsessed with Osvald. But he could. He very much could.
Trousseau is extremely volatile. He may be kept on leash by Claude but he's also one of the more stronger Persona Users and knows how to do Mental Shutdowns quicker than anyone. So by theory if he does turn against them by the delusion of "Just killing them to save them from the work they put into" then he can very much do it.
Petrichor is in the same way. She has a powerful Persona and is only helping them because it suits her interests and because she respects Arcanette. If she ever finds that Arcanette is lacking, then she'll go back to the Shadows and pick fights for the mindset of "Survival of the Fittest" and that could mean anything.
Kazan and Ori are a package deal. One of them can leave and the other might stay, but they don't know if they will stay. Neither of them don't really go to the Metaverse but the problem is that those two are very much connected to the Real World and can fuck the Moonshade Order over if they wanted to. Kazan is making sure the law gets off their back and Ori pushes forward news that doesn't put the Mental Shutdowns in the spotlight. They can both stop if they both leave, release a lot of things that they don't want people to know, and then things get very messy for them legally.
Claude and Arcanette basically are two people who very carefully makes sure everyone is on leash by use of manipulation and blackmail. Heavy manipulation and blackmail.
The Moonshade Order is a bomb that can go off in any moment and the tactic is to make sure that loose ends are sorted out, people who are found out don't know enough to really help the Phantom Thieves if they turn, use manipulation to keep the more loyal ones on leash, and continuously point out that they're much more powerful.
In the Metaverse.
Outside of the Metaverse they are about average. "Mindt" is just a worker in the organization Temenos works at and Claude may be the true leader of the Blacksnakes but really Mother and Father have been running it for so long that none of them would be loyal to Claude without proper incentive.
Honestly Ori and Kazan can very much ruin their lives if they knew more things but they don't. They just know what to not say and what to cover up.
It is also incredibly unfortunate that Arcanette and Claude failed to factor in the fact that people outside the Phantom Thieves, as those guys can investigate on their own due to them not being the usual suspects, cover up for the others, or use connections that they have personally.
Harvey is one of the most dangerous bombs here and they barely have him on a leash themselves. They probably don't give him all the information they know about the Moonshade Order upfront in order to try and manipulate him. But Harvey is smart and ends up finding out things anyway.
I love the description of Trousseau here. He is on a tight leash by Claude and doesn't even fully understand everything he has just been manipulated so much to be here.
Petrichor respecting Arcanette probably means a lot from her. Kazan and Ori are tragic and I love them. Claude is even scarier than Harvey (in his own different way) with having more power in the organization. Arcanette is the leader and a bitch but not as upfront scary as the rest of them.
As long as Arcanette can't see Hikari's full confidant list they're safe. But if they got their hands on Partitio and had a Sae Niijima aligned torture-interrogation scene with him oh man.
