We haven’t yet, but we really want to! My knowledge of both of these titles is pretty vague outside of some of the most well-known things, but I am pretty sure we will enjoy it a lot. Thank you for recommending it to us!

Regardless of an author’s views, it is always unfortunate when they have to finish their story abruptly because of the pressure of the readers. One would think that they would appreciate it enough not to bully the author, but unfortunately, a lot of times people are very demanding and emotional.

No thoughts so far. We keep getting asked about Eric and Trein (and Crewel I guess), but I don’t even know how or why they would interact. lol Anon!! I am very happy that you got intrigued by these two; I really like thinking about them too to be honest lol so I guess I better share my thoughts before we get more canon lore about them (god forbid, I wouldn’t want that at all! *reverse psychology*)
Alright, so to answer your questions…
To be honest, I don’t think they sleep in the same bed, mostly because both of them are too damn long and take up too much space to share a bed lol They used to sleep together when they just got married, but quickly decided that it’s just too bothersome.
Moray eels aren’t super social and don’t have the “mate for life” mentality, so their family façade is kind of fake. It also makes them dangerous, because one moray eel is already trouble, but two? Who also have a family? This is one of the things that make them so dangerous. So yeah, I wouldn’t say that Papa and Mama Leech love each other romantically, but they have mutually beneficial relationship, and to them this is probably even better than love. They are also probably aren’t intimate with each other anymore… they are with other people though, when they feel like it~
So yeah, to answer your question about a cuck chair lol Sure, why not, but I feel like with these two it’d be more like one of them is obliterating some poor merman while the other watches it just for the sake of enjoying the show. And some additional intimidation/humiliation 😔
When it comes to family, both of them really wanted kids, but not due to any wholesome reasons: Papa Leech wanted to keep his business going strong even after he’s gone, and he would rather choke on a puffer fish than entrust it to anyone other than his own copies lol And Mama Leech really enjoys the drama of being a mother and a wife. She is a bit of a narcissist, and both of them are kind of sociopathic?? But they love their kids in their own ways.
The fact that Mama Leech doesn’t cook is the biggest secret in the world lol The tweels usually play along, especially Jade, but Floyd is more likely to just roll his eyes whenever she is talking to someone about cooking dinner for her sons. I would say that they have a cook, but actually I feel like the majority of things that they eat are raw…

Updates:
TUMMY HURT which is no surprise after literally 36 hrs of near constant panic attacks and barely being able to eat. Pf last night was maybe the first not crying I'd done all day INCLDUING literally having a meltdown AT CHURCH where I had to hide in the bathroom woooo
Pf was great. A delight. As always. Perfect no notes I wanna go to a fey rave and get a magic cat and also maybe the god of chaos and nature is shipping this nerd gf/jock gf wizard relationship
Related to panic. Trying not to think abt tattoo shock and commitment issues and whether I fucked up by doing smthn that I wanted deeply but didn't turn out perfectly and I'm DISTRESSED and STUPID and I'm gonna stop talking before I send myself into another spiral. I told myself I have to leave it a few weeks to heal and settle before I can even think about having changes made & 6-8 months before I can decide if I truly hate it or it's an manifestation of my anxiety about risk taking and things being less than 100% perfect. But. I'm still not convinced I like the way it turned out. And somehow this feels (irrationally) like a life ruining decision + moral failure. And I really have to stop before I spiral again

Got an interview for that job except it's mid December and AN ALL DAY AFFAIR and I am stupid and shy and apparently an idiot how am I supposed to do this I'll have to miss my current job to go to this fancy thing and I'm too dumb for this I am good at my job but extremely bad at social cues interviewing in a very formal environment

My immune system is shot to hell as is and I'm supposed to get my flu AND covid boosters this week and rlly I am going to beg my boss to wfh the day after BC I'm going to be running a low grade fever no question about it
finished my hote reread and so it's off to atfots but I am SO nervous and worried (also read the feonie short story for the first time and screaming at the fact that everyone in the royal household can see that kip and fitzroy are in love except the two idiots themselves. Slow burn to the max. Also Victoria Goddard delivering on my fave kind of hard to define relationship that is deeply romantic and intimate and yet completely chaste and yet it's the MOST important thing in the world to each other. I'm. Going to throw myself into the sun. Pun intended)

Koudelka - Review
This game I wanted to play because I was really looking for a horror-themed RPG, and from what I read online this one seemed to be one of the better ones.
From the PS1 era, comes Koudelka, made by Sacnoth (Later renamed to Nautilus) and published by SNK in 1999.
You follow the titular character, Koudelka, trying to infiltrate an isolated monastery, she quickly encounters an injured man named Edward, who warns her about a monster and gives her his gun to fight with it, after the fight is done Koudelka heals him with mysterious powers and reveals he was there looking for treasure, they decide to team up in exploring the monastery.
Later they find and save a religious man named James, who refuses to elaborate on why he is there but follows the party anyways.
While exploring Koudelka gets visions of people dying, an accident on a ship, and someone asking for help, she then reveals she is a medium, and went to the monastery trying to save the soul of someone, but with the monsters roaming everywhere, something else might be going on there.
The way the story gets told is quite interesting, all of the dialogue is completely voiced, and cutscenes that aren't pre-rendered feel almost like a theatre play, with the characters doing a back and forth and even with some physicality in their "performance".
The characters have a weird chemistry between them, but it kinda works, with Koudelka and Edward developing a closer relationship and both poking at James and his devotion to god.
Besides the cutscenes, you will also find documents that explain what is going on in the monastery and even reveal the motivations of central characters in the plot.
I can't talk much more about the plot without spoiling so I'll leave it at that, it's time to get into the gameplay.
First of all, you are in complete control of the character's stats, upon a level up you will be asked to allocate points in the stats you want for each character, so you can build them to fill whichever role you want in your party.
Encounters are random, but they are pretty sparse overall, the actual combat is set on a chess-like grid, you can choose where on your side of the grid your characters will be on the pause menu, battles are turn-based, and it plays like a tactics game more or less, but it does have things that make it unique.
First, enemies can't get past the character that is the further into the grid, and the same applies to your characters, and if the furthermost character faints and an enemy advances, you can't revive that character anymore, these rules also mean enemies can't occupy the same row as your characters.
The way attacking works depends on the type of weapon you use, and broadly there's 3 types of weapons, short-range weapons, like fists, swords, and clubs, these can target the space right in front of the character and the 2 spaces on its side, medium-range weapons like spears, this one can target the space 2 spaces in front of the character and its 2 spaces on its side, but it cannot target the one right in front of the character, it also cannot target an enemy if an ally is right in front of them, and lastly there's long-range weapons like guns, shotguns and crossbows, these can target anywhere on the map as long as an ally is not right in front of the character.
Each type of weapon gives bonus stats on different stats, so they might be more effective with one character but not with another, also, they break with use, so you might want to save the more powerful ones for bosses.
Also, there's no money on the game, besides the stuff that you might find lying around, you get extra items and equipment from enemy drops, which makes the game really feel like an RPG take on resident evil, especially with the notes you find and the general design of the monastery, which does give off resident evil vibes, there's paths you can clear for easier traversal, puzzles that require key items and at points even enemies you have to flee from, in general, it was pretty fun to explore the monastery, and the game really wouldn't be the same if the gameplay took place in different dungeons.
The last thing there is to mention about the gameplay are weapon and spell levels.
The characters are free to equip any piece of equipment and use any spell they want, and each time they use a type of weapon or any spell they build experience for it until they level up, the maximum level being 3.
For weapons, the level up adds a chance to hit 2 times in a row for level 2, and for level 3 it also adds the chance to get 3 hits in a row.
For spells, the effect will greatly increase, but the mp cost will also increase considerably.
The customization level the game gives to the hand of the player is pretty great, and the game quickly punishes you if you don't properly build your characters and your weapon and skill levels, the normal enemies aren't that hard, but some bosses do kick some serious butt, so sometimes a bit of grinding could be necessary, but something nice is that you gain levels pretty quickly, so it's really not a problem.
So all in all, I really enjoyed this game, I was really itching for a horror-themed RPG and Koudelka really delivered, it's not perfect, like many RPGs in 3D from the time, a lot of time is lost at the start of combat showing the scenario, the enemies and the players, and the combat itself might feel slow, but because the encounter rate is very lax it doesn't ever get frustrating.
The plot is pretty interesting and seeing these characters interact with each other feels very different to what every other RPG had done by this time.
So, yeah, I would recommend this game if a horror RPG sounds appealing to you, it's pretty solid for the time, and even for today, nothing really has matched it's vibe so it's still very unique.
I'll definitely check Shadow Hearts, which was made by the same developers, when I can, I really wonder if they build on the mechanics of this game or try a new system altogether, in any case, I'm excited to check it out.

haha, i'm happy that you've liked the fic! i like this idea of levi and hange being in a relationship during s1-3 but then breaking up when hange becomes commander. and they reunite only in forest, for a little short while, before hange..... you know💞😌 makes the angst much more delicious 💖

6:37 pm on a friday, the tv was the only other noise i heard, discluding the sound of the water hitting the ground inside the bathroom, a nice evening shower always does the trick for everyone, especially eren, he can go on about how cozy it feels to shower in the afternoon for hourrrs !
there was basically no plans that we had, everyone was just chilling at home, so me being the smart ass I am, what better way to enjoy time then try being an aesthetic person. i gathered blankets and pillows to make a blanket fort in our room while we watched stuff. The weather outside was pretty nice, maybe I can even go out for a walk to the park with eren.. If he decides not to be a dick of course.

Durarara!! - i don’t think this is technically shounen but it’s a load of fun

NARUTO - tbh i think you just need to watch this to understand. skip fillers and know the cunin exam arc is where it starts getting good. i’m sorry but you need to do this

« La rédaction du rapport sur la dernière expédition est terminée. Veuillez signer dans la partie réservée au supérieur.
- Très bien... »
Livaï prit le document que lui présentait Petra et le signa d’un mouvement rapide de la main. Au moment où Petra tourna les talons pour aller remettre le rapport au major, ses yeux tombèrent par hasard sur le document et sur l’écriture de son supérieur.
« J’ai toujours trouvé que vous aviez une belle écriture.
- Tu crois que parce que je suis né dans les Bas-Fonds je suis trop bête pour savoir lire et écrire ?
- Non… pas du tout ! »
Livaï savait bien que la remarque de sa subordonnée n’avait pas pour but de pointer du doigt ses origines et qu’elle n’avait fait qu’exprimer un avis personnel sans arrière-pensée ; mais la nature grossière de Livaï était ressortie sans qu’il s’en rende compte, ce qui jeta un froid dans la pièce.
Petra se dépêcha de sortir, le document entre les mains.

« C’était un vrai désastre. »
Ces mots sortirent de la bouche d’Erwin.
Lorsque Petra entra pour lui remettre le rapport, il remarqua son trouble. Après avoir entendu ce qui venait de se passer, il eut un petit rire et la rassura.
« Hem… Est-ce qu’il a toujours été aussi consciencieux dans son travail ? demanda innocemment Petra, rassérénée.
- Tout à fait, répondit Erwin en prenant le document. Livaï n’a, en effet, pas reçu une éducation ordinaire. Cependant, il est largement au-dessus de nous dans d’autres domaines : par exemple, il possède une grande intelligence pratique et il est extrêmement doué pour déceler la vraie personnalité et les intentions des gens. Pas vrai, Hansi ? »
Le capitaine de la quatrième escouade, Hansi, qui se trouvait alors dans le bureau du major, fut invitée à prendre part à la conversation, et elle hocha la tête pour confirmer ce que venait de dire son supérieur.
« Ouais. A ce propos, il me semble me souvenir que tu avais prononcé les mêmes mots quand Livaï a été promu caporal. »
Ils avaient en effet mentionné les qualités de Livaï quand ils cherchaient à garantir sa place au sein du Bataillon d’exploration. Même s’il n’avait pas été soumis à la formation classique d’un soldat, Livaï possédait des capacités remarquables et des gens s’étaient montrés prêts à le suivre et à le soutenir.

« Hé, lequel d’entre vous a la plus belle écriture ? »
Livaï s’était immédiatement rendu auprès des membres influents du Bataillon d’exploration - parmi lesquels figuraient Erwin, Mike et Hansi -, après avoir été mis au courant de sa promotion.
« Pourquoi cette question ?
- C’est vous qui avez voulu que je devienne caporal. Si je me mets à jouer au caporal, je vais devoir remplir et rédiger des documents officiels, pas vrai ? »
Hansi ne comprit pas spontanément où il voulait en venir. Il venait des Bas-Fonds, mais elle n’avait pas pensé une seule seconde que ses capacités de lecture et de rédaction pouvaient être médiocres au point de l‘handicaper dans son travail.
« Je croyais que tu savais lire et écrire aussi bien que nous ? Quoi qu’il en soit, tu auras des subordonnés à qui tu pourras déléguer ce genre de travail.
- Ces gars sont soldats depuis qu’ils sont gamins… c’est pas ton apparence de crasseuse qui va les empêcher de te respecter, Binocles ! »
Après avoir insulté Hansi, Livaï ajouta :
« Les soldats travaillent en équipe, non ? S’ils ne respectent pas leur supérieur et qu’ils ne peuvent pas avoir confiance en lui, ça ne peut pas fonctionner - pas vrai ?
- Donc... tu veux encore améliorer ton niveau en lecture et en écriture ? »

« Ah, il a également fait remarquer à cette époque que notre écriture était trop brouillonne et, en un rien de temps, il a été en mesure de tracer des lettres aussi nettes que les caractères d’imprimerie qu’on voit dans les journaux ! »
Hansi continuait de rire jaune, tandis qu’Erwin se remémorait la scène avec nostalgie.
« Aujourd’hui, ce sont les rapports d’Hansi qui sont illisibles. Livaï a la capacité de cerner la vraie nature d’un individu, non seulement en analysant son écriture, mais aussi grâce à son aspect extérieur : son apparence, sa façon de se tenir et de parler… A partir de ces caractéristiques, il peut cerner la nature profonde de chaque créature appartenant à la race humaine.
- La nature profonde… d'un être humain ? »
Petra regarda encore une fois le document posé sur le bureau.

Les lettres, tracées avec netteté et précision, pouvaient être confondues avec des caractères d’imprimerie. La façon dont son supérieur abordait le monde semblait transparaître sur ce document et Petra sentit une détermination encore plus forte monter en elle.

You were on your knees in the living room waiting for the Commander, it was already dark outside, and you were waiting for him for quite a while now. It gave you plenty of time to overthink about your situation. In a few moment you will have your first Ceremony, at that simple thought your hands began to shake. Suddenly the door opened, you took a side glance and saw Levi and the Martha entering, you held your breath 'it's happening' you thought. Levi looked tensed too even if he tried to hide it, how could he not be? He was a driver, it's not like he ever thought he would have to help someone ra- for a Ceremony...
Finally Commander Smith entered the living room, you quickly looked back at the floor not wanting to meet the man's eyes. You heard him heading towards the fireplace in front of you and taking the Bible that was locked in a little box, women weren't allowed to read in Gilead, it's been so long since you ever read anything you were not quite sure if you were still able to read to be honest. "Let's read a verse before proceeding; 'And when Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and said unto Jacob, Give me children, or else I die. And she said, Behold my maid Bilhah, go in unto her; and she shall bear upon my knees, that I may also have children by her. And she gave him Bilhah her handmaid to wife: and Jacob went in unto her.’". The Commander closed the Bible and put it back in the box, he headed towards you, and helped you stand up by taking your hand. He leaded you to his bedroom, the entire time not letting go of your hand, your whole body was already shaking, you could feel Levi following you.
Commander Smith motioned you to sit on the bed, he then looked at Levi, you saw that smaller man was hesitating, but like you, he seemed to not have a choice and after closing his eyes for a second he sat on the bed, behind you.

The Commander was standing in front of you, unzipping his pants, with a little push on your shoulder he motioned you to lie down. Your head was in between Levi's legs, you closed your eyes and put your hands up on the black haired man's legs. Levi's surprisingly soft hands were holding your wrist. You felt the Commander lift up your skirt to your waist and take out your panties. Your eyes still closed, you held your breath and felt the Commander entering you. Your whole body tensed at the man's back and forth movements. A few tears escaped from your eyes, you opened them to see Levi looking down at you with a mix of horror and distress in his eyes. You pressed your lips together and willed yourself to not let out anymore tears. Levi's grip on your wrists got tighter as the Commander's pace got faster and faster. Levi was still looking at you, if left like his gaze was locked in yours, locked in this humiliating, disgusting moment. With one last stroke you felt the Commander cumin into you. You heard the man in between your legs zip up his pants."
She needs to stay like this for a moment. Watch her." said the man as he left the room.

Levi let go of your wrists and with a quick movement of his hands he covered your lower half with your skirt. You felt numb, tears finally streaming down your cheeks silently. Levi wiped them with his thumb, the black haired man had a frown on his face, you both stayed there for a few minutes, Levi wiping your cheeks every time a tear was leaving your eyes. No words were exchanged but you felt a little bit safer, knowing that someone seemed to see how fucked up all of this was. After this he escorted you back to your bedroom, the Martha was already waiting for you there, Levi left you with her, before leaving he whispered to your ear "Don't let them see how much they broke you...". You spent the night in your bed, the Martha running her fingers in your hair, "My name is Ruth", an almost unnoticeable smile appeared on your face, you weren't supposed to know her name, back in the Red center you remembered in how much trouble an handmaid got because she said her name to someone, "My name is Y/N..." you whispered back as you closed your eyes, trying to fall asleep.

Levi's words kept resonating in your head, since the Ceremony you didn't have the chance to talk to him, the Commander gave him a lot of work. You could see the already noticeable dark circles under his eyes get darker as the days went on. As for yourself, after this traumatic night you were expected to go on with your days like before, your body was on semi-automatic at first, you woke up and helped the Marth- Ruth in the kitchen and then you went running some errands with an another handmaid. You couldn't go alone, it was ruled in Gilead; handmaids have to be accompanied with an another handmaid if they have to go out. Even if you knew they made this rule so you could monitor each other, you liked to know you weren't alone in this mess.
Ofgrisha was already waiting for you at the gate, the sun was out today, a breath of fresh hair met your s/c skin that was shielded under your white bonnet. As you headed towards your shopping partner, you heard a vacuum noise coming from your left, when you turned your head you saw Levi vacuuming inside the car's trunk. For a short second your eyes met, you felt the unexpected urge to let him know that you were ok, even if it wasn't entirely true, so you gave him a small smile, hoping he would know what you meant, and that he would maybe care? You didn't get the chance to see his reaction, as you were already at the gates now, "Blessed be the fruit" greeted you Ofgrisha. "May the Lord open." you answered back and started walking by her side.
"Ofdaniel is pregnant...", your eyes widened, "Really? But she has only been assigned to her family not so long ago...", Ofgrisha chuckled "Well, good for her, she will be spoiled for the next nine months, I told her to enjoy it while it last!". You nodded at her statement, despite how messed up her words may seem, in Gilead being a pregnant handmaid is the best situation you could ever be in, during all the pregnancy she'll have more food, no work to do and... no Ceremonies. You finally arrived at the store, a few handmaids were shopping, all of the labels had drawings instead of words. You got everything that Ruth asked you to buy, as you counted down the tokens you had left you realized you had one left to buy a fruit. As you looked at the fruits in front of you, your mind suddenly craved for f/f, but as your hand went on to pick one of them, you saw apples in the corner of your eyes.
When you arrived back at the house, you stopped next to the car, the front door was open. You looked around to see if anyone could see you, no one was in sight so you quickly took the apple that was in your bag and placed in on the driver's seat.

Hi ^^ I've recently found ur blog and read ur meta. Ur analysis is great! I'm kinda new here but I've seen so many ppl talk about Levi's guidebook page, referring to it as "the confirmation of what Levi was solely fighting for in the final battle i.e revenge by fulfilling the promise" I'm sorry if this has been pointed out before but as a Levi fan who believes otherwise, I'd love to read ur interpretation. Also u also believe the GB is implying this? I think ppl are having the wrong impression.
Hi! :) Thank you so much! I am glad you liked my meta! English is not my first language, so I try my best to express what I want to say.
Almost everyone agrees that the final guidebook is just an ABSOLUTE hot garbage! xD At this point that no one is taking seriously anymore! xD It straight up contradicts what happens in the manga, has VERY reductive and nonsensical descriptions of the characters and is FULL of errors.
The main reason to why many people have issues with Levi’s part (apart from it having nothing new or because it mainly focused on the promise) is one word that was used in the text that has been translated by some biased people into “obsessed”.
I asked 3 Japanese people (including my teacher) about the word that was used in the text and the meanings that I was given were: (be) dedicated to; have an uncompromising commitment to ; to really focus on; to be determined to; etc. From what I understood, this term is always a headache as it truly depends on what the writer wants to convey and what it “feels” right in the context. "Obsessed” is like, the most reductive reading of that word, and it's the exact word that Er_ris chose to use xD
Japanese is often qualified as vague, and it CAN leave room for interpretation. For example, the word (きれい) Isayama used to say Levi was the opposite of Rorschach could mean "pretty" or "clean" based on the context, but here's the thing: Rorschach is notoriously ugly, so it makes sense that Isayama meant that Levi is "pretty" (and it IS officially translated to "pretty" ), but I have seen MANY Japanese people say that Isayama meant "clean" not “pretty”! This word meaning in the text literally and solely depended on Isayama's intention even causing translators to get confused and translate it to “pretty”! If we look at the context of Levi’s character description in the last gb, the last line mentions that after his final mission, Levi “meets his friends with a calm heart”. Why would Levi be able to meet his friends with a “calm heart” if his entire arc was about him being “obsessed” with a personal goal and revenge?! Is this why he salutes them and they salute him back in the final chapter?! I am 100% sure that the word “obsessed” was not the one that the person who wrote the description wanted to use.
Now let’s stop talking about language translation and focus on Levi in the manga xD Is the gb version Levi the same Levi whom Isayama described as "as an existence more superior to myself" during Levi’s statue reveal just last March?!
You know, when I asked my native Japanese teacher to help me translate Isayama's statement about Levi, she sent me a 4 minute voice note breaking down the terms Isayma used and explaining how much respect the person speaking (Isayama) has for the person he's talking about (Levi). I was embarrassed to tell her that the person he’s speaking about is actually a fictional character lol
Isyama used 頭 の上がらない which literally means “can’t raise someone’s head” but it actually means “can’t raise someone’s head in front someone else for how much respect they have for this person”
Now let’s look at Levi’s actions in the manga to see if we can reach to the same conclusion.
Levi is one of, if not the most, perceptive characters in SNK. In one the official short stories, he was described as a person who is able to “know the true nature of Man”. For Levi, Zeke is a man who cheered with satisfaction as he threw rocks through fifteen year olds. He’s the person who nonchalantly explained to Levi the process of gassing an entire village of unsuspecting civilians and flinging them into an eternal nightmare in order to weaponize their bodies. Zeke’s manipulations are the origin of almost all of Paradis’ problems, whether it’s encouraging Marley to ramp up aggressions or pulling shady shit with Kiyomi, Yelena and the Jaegerists that destabilizes their already vulnerable island. And what’s worse - because we’re reading a story where torn-up characters are often excused by circumstances of coercion or perceived necessity - he doesn’t care. He feels no remorse. He wants to do this. Levi doesn’t know Zeke’s ultimate reasoning of course, but he recognized through the smoke of the campfire a man who doesn’t give a fuck about the wishes and agency of others. Who will force his own will on a race of humans and call it mercy. AND YET, Levi stays with him for A WHOLE MONTH in the forest bringing him books, drinks and a pillow to sit on. He keeps asking him about what happened in Connie’s village trying over and over to understand him. And then the guy transforms Levi’s own teammates in front of him, forces him to kill them and taunts him with their suffering. Levi perceives a person who’s arrogant enough to consider his cruelty compassion as he decides whether the lives of their children are worth living.YET, Levi decided to keep him alive because he believed that it is what’s the best for Paradis; a decision that eventually caused Levi’s severe injuries and the activation of the Rumbling!
During the final battle, Levi offered to act as a bait for Mikasa so she can try to bring back Armin and risks his life TWICE to save Jean and Connie risking his chances to ever fulfill his promise to Erwin.
Please tell me now that these are actions of an “obsessed” man who is only focused on killing Zeke and revenge.
The first time Levi mentions the vow after the time skip, he says: “Erwin, I think I will be finally able to fulfill the vow I made to you that day. Your deathS had meaning. At last I will be able to prove it” Levi clearly associates giving meaning to his comrades’ deaths WITH fulfilling his vow to Erwin. This is the line that proves that the vow has always meant something more.
Levi made a promise that came to represent the fulfillment of the goal all his former Survey Corps comrades laid down their lives for. Slaying the Beast Titan took on symbolic stature, a tangible way of giving their sacrifices meaning - especially in a world where the circumstances had drastically shifted and enemies, allies, and other were suddenly seen from a completely different perspective.
In Ch. 136, Levi remembers his friends and reflects upon their sacrifices and what they meant. They did not sacrifice their lives to “trample the lives and hearts of others”.
We never got a SINGLE panel in which he says that he fulfilled his promise! In the last apparition of his fallen comrades, Erwin isn’t even in the center. He salutes his fallen comrades for devoting their hearts for humanity and they salute him back for honoring their sacrifices.
If there is one thing that Levi was “obsessed” about, it is him trying to give meaning to the deaths and sacrifices of the people who truly devoted their hearts to humanity and whom he truly loved

SNK SPOILERS BELOW, MY THOUGHTS IN A WRAP-UP. It’s long and messy but I can’t help myself.
- first, I should say that I’m not EM shipper, however I’m definitely not an anti and I’m not oblivious to their bond. Interpret however you want, but only someone blind would refuse to see how much they mean to each other. I enjoy it in a platonic way. i hold EMA close to my heart
- this chapter is from Mikasa’s pov while 137 was centered around Armin
- the ‘thing’ happens. something people refered to as AU, a dream, a delusion. HOWEVER. this is NOT a delusion. it even goes back to the first chapter, where Eren said the same words, had the same ‘dream’. I agree that her headaches must have been connected to it. is Eren the one now showing it to her? it’s not clear
- and here is how I disagree that the ‘thing’ is an AU. it’s difficult to find words for it, but here is what I’m basing it on:
Mikasa wonders if that one day when Eren aksed her a question, her answer could have changed anything. perhaps. perhaps not. in my opinion, not to the extremum we’re seeing, the total opposite of what is happening.
Eren is out of character. i saw people saying that he would abandon everything if she just said so, but is it who he is? it looks to me as a sort of ‘what if’, a ‘possibility’, not definite other path. i can’t put a word to it. I love interpreting eren’s character and this page doesn’t sit right with me, and i don’t care about shipping, we shouldn’t reduce it just to it. it would upset me if yams truly believed this is who eren is after all he put him through. maybe it’s something mikasa would want (since we see it from her pov), a life with him.
1. ‘we abandoned everything and ran away like this’ - are you telling me that this boy who never backed down since he was a child, ran away from everything? from the sacrificed lives for his sake to reach this point? eren also showed zeke their father’s memories, and how eren was born this way, always a fighter
2. ‘I made Historia live through hell’ - after trying to protect her from breeding her like an animal? after saying he won’t sacrifice her? once again, set every ship aside, eren cared about his friends and historia was one of them

3. ‘Armin is probably looking for us’ - ARE YOU TELLING ME. THAT EREN. LEFT ARMIN BEHIND? it has always been EMA. armin is his best friend, his family
this is not eren. I agree, that maybe he longed for something simple like that, but he would not abandon everyone and everything because mikasa wanted to live with him, ‘just the two of them’. and if we can call it a ‘what if’, it makes sense for a character to be ooc. even his hair is short. it’s like mikasa remembers this younger eren, not what has become of him.

the moment that changed eren forever when he saw the memories of his older self. the future full of destruction and what was coming
did he accept it immediately?
in his head, seems as if he still had a spark of hope, because ‘everything is still ahead’
here’s how he was coming to terms with what he saw, it was the last time his mind wasn’t fully made up, before he became ‘the devil’. it makes sense that Mikasa’s answer could have give more possibilities while his head was still a bit messy, but truly, could it? eren saw where he landed in the future, meaning his future self received the same answer from her since nothing changed. can someone really change the future or escape from it? eren fell in the steps of his older self, wanting it or not. it’s truly tragic how there seemed to be no other way, no easy path for him. if he chose to run away, he would still hate himself, he’d detest leaving his people, either way, there’s no happy ending for him.
it’s before the talk between him and mikasa happened. are you telling me he’s not determined here to fight for paradis? even if you see his feelings for her as romantic or not, family or not, he'd not run away from reality. he was chasing freedom his entire life
and here’s his conclusion. i believe it was meant to happen. we often question our past decisions, wonder if things could have gone the other way, and that’s what mikasa does. as sad as it is, I believe it was supposed to go like that, it’s truly tragic
- eren pushed away people he loves for their sake. but mikasa refused. i disagree that isayama ‘destroyed’ her character. no, she finally faced her feelings and chose to remember. but she’s not selfish, and she comes to terms that eren has to die
- here’s a bit from my other theory: i think eren became the devil for the world to unite and take him down. this way, the hatred could end. if he saw his future memories... he must have saw his death. we still don’t know his pov and I hope the last chapter is for him, but it makes so much sense. before mikasa beheads him, he looks at her as if he knew it was coming, as if he accepted it.
- maybe eren could never reach freedom, but maybe he wanted to give it to others
this is my take. once again, to say it in short, I don’t think ‘the thing’ is an AU since it presents eren in a very ooc way. i’m not looking though shipping but at the story as a whole. it saddens me that people fight over it, I’m talking about opposite sides since there are always people acting ‘extra’. no, it’s not just aww fanon shipping and screw eren’s character. no, mikasa is not destroyed and the kiss was NOT nec//rophilia, do people know the meaning of this word?? it was a goodbye kiss. she said her goodbye. this chapter is heartbreaking
all that’s left is waiting for 139 and clarifications.i hope yams doesn’t do some revival bulls/hit... as much as i love eren, it wouldn’t fit... i stand by my opinion and I’m open for discussion. pardon all mistakes and now brb, let me continue crying, because i will never be over eren.

Chapter 139 + ending opinion
Okay..where do I begin, I already wrote something yesterday but now having read the English typeset I have come to this conclusion regarding the ending of SNK. (It’s a long post, may have some typo’s, which I will try to fix while editing the post)
Disclaimer: Isayama has my respect, even if I may not agree on all points I want to thank him for years of hard work and bringing us a beautiful story, that being said his story is not immune to criticism and so I will write this with my fullest and honest opinion. (Do not send Isayama or any of the voice actors and anime production staff any hate, if you didn’t like the ending that’s fine! But do not harass anyone else because of it)
Here goes:
Chapter 139, what can I say, even after reading it in English I cannot seem to like it.
Why? First of all, Ymir’s love…oh god I dreaded writing this but, her love it’s not comparable to Mikasa’s, that’s why I am unable to link the two, but at the same time I don’t see them as very different characters either. Let me elaborate, Ymir was a slave who had her whole family killed by king Fritz, had her tongue cut out and was impregnated at a very young age because she has the power of the titans, Ymir falling in love with him is nothing short of Stockholm Sydrome. Sure Mikasa being able to kill Eren and end it, was something Ymir couldn’t do but WHY and WHEN was Ymir ever in love with King Fritz…back to Mikasa, she let go of Eren, but in the end she really didn’t (Eren wishing she’d never move on came true). Yes you can mourn your loved ones for how long you want but, why did Isayama have to put her in a position where she is always tied to Eren, she never had her own character growth, because when we thought she finally let go of Eren, she returns with the scarf and ends up crying at his grave for the last 3 years (kind sounds like how Ymir started off wandering alone in Paths no?) regardless the EreMika built up came out of nowhere and it was to sudden for me to actually believe any of it. Opinions may differ but, it’s lackluster and well, to me SNK was never about romance, so this whole romance subplot was meaningless and shat on every character who died in this manga.
What also irked me is, Reiner’s character. SUCH A GREAT character, so much build up, so much amazing storytelling and he ends up not dying, nor sacrificing himself, no instead he ends up sniffing Historia’s letter… I still like Reiner but, this development went straight down the trash bin.
Also Historia having a baby, but why? We’ll never know. She supported Eren’s rumbling plan, but why? We’ll never know. Paradis turned into a dictatorship with fascist leaders, but why? Fuck it I don’t give a fuck.
But what I do wonder is, is Armin this naive? Does he think nations will just sign a peace treaty? No way, geopolitical relationships don’t work like that, look at the real world, we are constant war because people can’t set aside difference, now people want to tell me that after Eren stomped on 80% of the world’s population, they want to just be at peace? I don’t think so, especially now that Eldians no longer have titan powers, have zero advanced technology in weapons..Makes no sense.
The worm…wtf was it, why was it there, who stopped it and where did it go? It had a mind of it’s own and even after Zeke and Eren dying it still kept going so my question is, what was the purpose of introducing this shit and then not to further elaborate on it? Why did everyone have to turn into titans for them to turn back into humans in no time? Why not just take the sad route and have every shifter die and have Ymir reborn as a free girl, because I thought Ymir was shackled to paths because she couldn’t be a free human, that’s why the rebirth theory sounded so plausible, but now all Ymir is, is a Stockholm syndrome patient who was waiting to…..what the hell even happened to Ymir? Where’d she go, why did she leave, what was her fucking purpose in the end. You want to tell me that she put so many people and teenagers under stress because King Fritz wanted more women than just Ymir? Jfc.
Now to Eren, so we know Eren was always a crybaby and never fully mature to do what he did, but what the fuck was this chapter? Sure he loves his friends and wants them to be save but, how did you go from “I know what I need to do and this is why I must start the rumbling” to, “I don’t man, just felt like it, I love Mikasa and you all so I don’t want to die but I don’t know Ymir wanted this and I don’t know what Ymir wants”, like did Yams stop remembering his own story here?
Regardless, Eren dying is a good thing, he could not and should not be redeemed for mass genocide, I think we can all agree on this. But my whole issue is, why put the warriors, especially Reiner, through so much shit, when you started the whole massacre on your own. One chapter was all it took to butcher Eren’s persona, then again he was never my favorite so I couldn’t care less about him.
Another point, he says he will give everyone their memories back once he dies, they will learn about his plan. Sure, but why do Mikasa and Levi experience this? Is this the cause of their headaches? I don’t get it, wasn’t the whole plot that Ackermanns under no circumstance could be mind manipulated…so how the fuck did Eren pull this off? It just took that subplot and flushed it down the toilet.
ZEKE, the only man with an actual plan and he died for no reason, just like Porco, Marcel, Ymir, Marco, Erwin, Hanji, Shadis, Colt, Magath and every other character that died for no reason.
The ending to me feels like a bad EreMikaMin fanfic, it just left so many plot holes untouched and now we are left wondering wtf all the other 137 chapters were for.
To end this post, up until chapter 132 I really really really liked the story, after that I feel like Isayama just wanted to finish the story and just did what the shippers wanted and finished the story in a wholesome way without really tying up any loose ends. It’s a shame but, it is what it is.
