I also wonder what the relationship between the Jewish and Sikhi community is, because most Hindu bloggers stopped to mention the Jains (another religion I don’t know really anything about) when they were educating us about their theology and culture and history, but nobody mentioned the Sikhi thus far, any Panjaabi want to weigh in?

Every year millions of Sikhs pilgrimage to the Harmandir Sahib in India. This sacred shrine isn’t just a revered place of worship, its communal kitchen serves 100,000 people every day.

I saw that fucking cartoon called "god's gang" and its so much way worse than it sounds
it's not one of those christian cartoons for kids, it's actually about 4 people of different religions, a chhristian guy, a muslim, a jew, and a hindu(???? I didn't get this one either), and they fight aliens(???) tbf, in hinduism there is a belief of one supreme god but it's structured in such a different way than abrahamic religions that
The execution was done in such a way that you can't tell what the religion of the people who made this cartoon are
I heard many say its prob by an atheist but i dont know
NO, NO... I JUST CHECKED AND THEY HAVE A WEBSITE
ok I just checked and the team behind it is tel aviv based, this explains this kinda I think, if the people behind it are jewish, why is the jewish character named "ninjew"??? is it a parody of a real name, like, "Chris Cross" is a name that works well for a christian, but all the others SUCK ASS, they are named, Ninjew(as you know), Taewokhindu(she's not korean btw), and Sumuslim. At this point, why not name him Christian Cross? Christian is literally a real name that is a homophone, a homograph, a homo-meaning idk if the word exists- OF CHRISTIAN
anyway I think a story that explores people of monotheistic religions being like "tbf, we could be buddies" is a interesting idea but God's Gang doesn't experiment with this concept much, there was a scene where jewish guy, muslim guy, and christian guy were joking about their schools for teaching their religion and how it was boring, like sunday school and etc, apart from that? Idk
If I'd have to pick a monotheistic religion for this, it would be Sikhism, it's very good for this concept because Sikhism has the belief that there is only one God, and that they have no right to impose their beliefs on others or even to cajole members of other religions to convert.
In general, Sikhism is the most respectful religion I've seen apart from Buddhism, and other religious people could learn from Sikhs
I didn't even mention more about Sikhism that is interesting, you have to check it out yourself
I think a multi faith series can be made but like, I don't trust something based in Tel Aviv

biting the bullet and reaching out for advice and/or commentary from trans and nonbinary sikhs. other queer sikhs are welcome to respond but would like to focus more from those who have experienced gender dysphoria and/or euphoria. ordeal is under the read more. i am not accepting any kind of hate on this post.
i feel very nervous about writing this but i am also tired of struggling to answer my questions by myself. so, here it goes - hi, i am a young transmasc nonbinary person who was raised as a sikh. i say raised as because while i do appreciate the values of sikhi, i am not religious. i never have been. i feel it is important to also mention that i am mixed (the other half is white european). my relationship with being culturally sikh has always been rocky, but it got more intense as i started to accommodate my needs of alleviating intense gender dysphoria. i’m pretty fair-skinned and generally pass as white. my hair is cut short because wearing it long triggered suicidal feelings from said dysphoria. to put it simply, i do not “look like a singh” anymore, and i have a sickening amount of guilt about it. there is so much pressure to hold strong to sikhi, especially with the history of oppression and scarce representation, that i feel like i’m doing something wrong when i cannot fully grasp the spirit of it. my existence feels wrong. i do not know if it is okay for me to even call myself a sikh anymore. i don’t feel at home with myself or my circumstances. i don’t even know if it’s okay for me to try and continue wearing a kara as someone with shorn hair. everything feels so wrong. i cannot talk to my punjabi parent about any of this. he’s very close-minded and i don’t know how he feels about queer folks. he’s already abrasive when i try asking simple questions about punjabi culture or religion. my chosen name is so different from my legal name, even the thought of trying to get my family to abide by it someday makes me cringe. strangers think it’s cool but i know they’re just going to laugh about it. i feel like i am abandoning everything i should be, just by trying to be more comfortable in my own skin. i don’t know where sikhi fits within my transition goals, and it feels like a heavy burden.

Quote
My faith has been a constant in my life through good times and bad. I'm not going to waver from my faith but I'm also not going to be ashamed of my sexuality. Sadly I know gay Sikhs who have given up their faith, or who feel their only option was to cut their hair, and to become less faithful, or just focus on their inner faith rather than spend time at the gurdwara. I have seen some Sikhs who have come out to their family members who have been kicked out of their homes, who have been beaten, who have been called paedophiles, and have had so much thrown at them. When they see that done by family members wearing turbans they associate that image with their faith. They may even be unable to speak openly to someone who's wearing a turban because of what they've experienced.
