Sakura Haruno

Definitely someone who needs to be convinced to relax sometimes as she has a tendency to overwork herself but also bring her work home. She honestly just doesn't stop! You need to pull her into the zen environment for both your sakes.

That being said she definitely is someone who finds comfort in the simple things with you. A nice cup of tea and a cuddle after a long day are exactly what she needs to unwind. Also can she bitch about people please? She needs to have a good vent. The two of you can vent if you need too as long as you listen to her she'll listen to you 100% you're a team.

It's a bonus if tea has some sort of treats with it. It's partner downtime AND treat time. And if you made them? Her heart MELTS. Even if you just bought them she thinks 'My partner did this for me?' Absolutely touched.

So that was the part you indulged her and she has recharged no it's reversal time. Wants to pay you back and help you unwind. She wants to cook you dinner (doesn't mind cooking it together) but loves to spoil you. Likes company when cooking. The talking continues, helps her to unwind honestly.

Is a taster through the process of cooking and loves to ask for you opinion too. 'Hmm I'm not sure, do you think this needs to be more spicy?' Holds the spoon out to you. That being said he does have his exhausted days and mornings where he likes to just cuddle. Cuddley mornings with Shisui aren't all docile and sweet though. Sometimes they're pinches and tickles and giggles.

It's biting your shoulder affectionately and nibbling your ear to get a chuckle out of you and watch you flail about while he holds you tight. It's laughing until your stomach hurts, the blanket long forgotten and kicked to the end of the bed while the sheet twists around each of your limbs.

It's rolling around the bed until one of you (or both if you cling to each other tight enough) falls out of bed. That's when it's time to call it quits. 'Mmm maybe time to get out of bed.' 'I think we just did.' 'Touché.' He kisses (then nips) your nose.

Unwinding in the evening for Shisui I can see being something like watching you prepare dinner. Watching the repetative motions of chopping and mixing just really helps him relax and unwind. But he can't watch for long he has to join in and help.

Not just help out but make it fun too and be an absolute nusance in the process. Flicking the bits of cooked rice that stick to his hands at you when he is put in charge of moulding the rice balls. Attempts to smear the rice vinegar goo on your cheek but you flinch in time with a gasp just as the tip hits your skin.

'Oh this is war!' You declare and he's gone, running around the kitchen in a circle giggling like a child as you chase him with the mayo based sauce. He relents of course and grabs you by the waist. It stops you but not enough as you smear a good goop over his face.

Instead of wiping it off he just smooshes his face against yours and shakes his head gently. The two of you scrunch your noses and laugh. It's a mess but it's fun. And you can taste the sauce on his lips when he kiss you. It's good.

Dinner is almost forgotten as the two of you kiss and kiss. Making out on the kitchen floor. You push him back onto the conveniently placed rug a few feet away and latch yourself onto his neck. He moans, hands coming to pull your waist down against him. Onto him. Mmm this is good.

Mans has spent his whole life chasing that zen but there's always something in the way. There's always something giving him the BIG STRESS lmao. He needs to unwind and you really gotta be the one to help him out before he snaps.

Big on the tea and definitely has his own routine of coming home and drinking a cup just to detox the day. Likes to just have a bit of quiet at first. Has gotten into the habit of making one for you if you're home too, a sweet invitation for you to join him in his bubble. He wants you in his world.

After that he doesn't mind talking. Wants to know about your day, doesn't mind sharing his. Little bits of small talk that lead to the deep intimate talk. Just existing together in a way he never thought he would with another person is intimate for him and it makes him feel so sappy.

Ever since I watched the first episode of Percy Jackson series, I was struck by the fact that all these characters are still children. Rick did such a great job portraying them so accurately. Children soldiers, sacrificing themselves for an adult cause. Sounds familiar? Well, it prompted me to write those headcanons

All three of you believed yourself to be sooo mature, but in reality, none of you were free from engaging in embarrassing, childish behavior.

Spending all your money on stupid shit you'll never use. Two sided kunai? You're sharing that abomination and flexing it, not so subtly, in front of your superiors.

Coming up with a name for your group, then for a week using it almost constantly, in hopes that others pick it up.

When you and Itachi were still in the academy, teachers gushed over him, praising his calm demeanor and attentive nature. He was always listening. But was he, really? In fact, he was looking out the window and vividly hallucinating himself in different scenarios, fighting his bullies with a laser beam.

Both you and Itachi were younger than your friend, so you occasionally competed for his attention. Been on a mission? You'll be sure to mention how dangerous it was at least a few times, until Shisui gives a nod of approval.

While I believe the soldier mentality was strong in all of you, even in your childhood, you were just as awkward as "normal" kids when it came to civilian interactions.

Shisui in his edgy era threw a rock at one of his older colleagues. You run away immediately after. Both you and Itachi were so impressed by his nonchalance. Little did you know, he didn't even blink that night.

Building a secret training spot in the forest, making it a big deal in front of Sasuke but not letting him go with you, because he wasn't ready (Itachi felt guilty so he showed it to him anyway, at night so you wouldn't find out).

You in your baddie era, first breakup with a random guy, crying ugly tears, Shisui threatening to beat him up, then seeing him and worrying that he heard that, immediately turning the other way and quickly walking away.

You brought different parts of lunch for training, supposedly out of convenience. Whenever one of you would get mad, the rest would be figuring out how to eat the sandwiches without bread. The other person would be sitting across the place, holding eye contact while ostentatiously eating a bare loaf.

Very random but do you have any headcanons about Itachi and by extension Shisui's lifestyle in the modern era? For example, would they use Android or Iphone, or what sort of food preferences they would have like gluten free or vegan? Or what about their workout regimen? Not to mention, the kind of shampoo they would use (sorry if that's too specific)

I personally see Itachi as a very reticent person who would thrive in marathon training outside of any combat training. Do you have any opinions about that or anything related to Itachi headcanons in general?

In the modern AU, I see Itachi going through the same kind of things he does in canon, but on a lesser scale. His dynamic with his family and Shisui would be more or less the same.

Itachi is the Android person. He doesn't like showing off and is content with the simpler things in life. He is vegetarian. Shisui doesn't mind eggs and some seafood.

His favourite person is Sasuke. Obviously. But Shisui is up close as well. There were times in Itachi's life when he had no idea what was going on and Shisui stood beside him. Itachi is always thankful for that.

The only thing Itachi doesn't compromise with is his hair. So, he regularly does shampoo and uses conditioner on his hair. Shisui doesn't really care about his own and if he's running out of time, he doesn't mind using washing powder on his hair either.

Itachi is definitely introverted. Though since in the modern world he might not be training rigorously because he's not a ninja, he'll spend a lot of time studying.

He reads Kafka, Murakami, Plath, Dazai, Dostoevsky, Nabokov, and Camus a lot. Shisui tries to get him to read something else as well but Itachi gets bored of his recs real soon. Shisui and he argue a lot on the kind of books they like. Sasuke just stays out of their arguments because he's more of a comic book person. His arguments tend to be with Naruto the most. And they're never on the same page.

Itachi has a strained relationship with his parents. It's not too bad, but he feels uncomfortable whenever he's home. He knows he's loved, but he can't bring himself to be comfortable with his parents around. His strict father and his mom being an ideal wife have contributed a lot to him being inexpressive. Being a genius, a prodigy, best at everything is tiring. Everyone thinks he's having the best of all worlds, but in fact, he sometimes breaks down because he can't handle it. As if he's not allowed to fail. He wants his parents to be proud of him.

He knows he's the best at what he does. It's not outright arrogance but confidence that shows in his persona. He always ends up stealing the limelight, no matter who the object of centre is meant to be. It occasionally causes a rift between him and Sasuke. No, Sasuke doesn't say it out loud, but Itachi understands that Itachi stealing the attention that Sasuke deserved hurt his little brother. He hates seeing Sasuke sad because of him. Once he understands what is wrong, Itachi always removes himself from the picture, making last minute excuses why he can't make it. It happens with him and Shisui too. But Shisui tries to make him understand that he doesn't mind it and it isn't his fault. Though Itachi won't listen. He doesn't like being inconvenience to the people he loves.

Itachi is Sasuke's rock. Every time Sasuke needs something or wants someone to root for him, he always has Itachi's support. What he doesn't realize is that Itachi needs his support just as much. Itachi finds dinners with his parents comfortable only when Sasuke is around. Sasuke talks a lot, and that's therapeutic for Itachi. Sasuke's presence makes his life so much easier.

Both the brothers sometimes have heart-to-heart with each other. Sasuke mostly rants about his life and Itachi offers his opinions and suggestions, most of them work out for Sasuke. Sasuke wants to know about Itachi too and Itachi has no idea what to say about himself and his life. He doesn't want to burden Sasuke with all that he feels. Not that Sasuke doesn't manage to get some answers out of Itachi. He's understood that asking his older brother questions directly won't help. So he beats around the bush a lot until Itachi begins to speak.

One day when their parents were out of town, Sasuke managed to pry some answers out of his brother, and was horrified to know that the Itachi Uchiha had struggles too.

Ever since they were kids, Shisui would come over to the Uchiha household for sleepovers. And when Mikoto and Fugaku fell asleep, all three kids would indulge in pillow fights. Sasuke and Shisui would gang up on Itachi because that's one of those things that draw some reaction out of Itachi.

A lot of his issues - most of them begin with him having a little brother inferiority complex.

He is a master through effort. While Sasuke can be and is rightfully proud if his achievements, his pride can easily fall apart when he doesn't receive recognition from his family.

Since he's so fixated on his family's approval, he tends to blend out any other significant relationship while working towards his goal.

In short: Proud but fragile ego. 

While he would never hurt you physically or aiming at hurt you emotionally or psychologically, when Sasuke is in a reckless mood or angry he lash out such harsh feelings on you by being abrasive, grumpy, or saying that your help is useless.

Sasuke has a hard time processing feelings, mostly he processes them via anger.

Sometimes looks for fights/arguments when he's in a foul mood. Another person making a joke on Sasuke's expenses. Expect that you need to drag Sasuke out of the room before things go out of hand.

Positive note: He is capable of arguing with you. Or let's say: Your argument can end in aggressive shouting matches where he can be an insensitive ass. Afterwards he will stew in his anger and a bit of selfrighteousness before he slowly considers that there might be truth to what you said...

Here's the issue: Sasuke does deeply care for you. He doesn't actually date you as much as he fell in love with you and got over himself to ask you to stay by his side. His kind of love is quiet, more expressed in action, due to the fact that he isn't good at expressing himself with words. So he does seem withdrawn, or it doesn't seem comprehensible why he keeps you around four outsiders. (Even for you by times.)

Homeboy can change and get better but the process demands time, clear boundaries, and patience...

Once figured out that he's really good at sex and for a while tries to use to distract you from arguments.

You have to be the mature one in this relationship.

Itachi Uchiha

Constantly under pressure from family as oldest son. By times the family and social expectations will interfere with your private life planning.

Itachi has a hard time fighting back, by times he doesn't even know that he should. Sometimes all the demands loaded on him take up too much of his energy and health to have the energy to fight back. Other times some things are too ingrained in him by his upbringing too properly reflect on how adequate they actually are...

When you try to explain to him that he should not take up everything or say no, he needs a long time realizing that this isn't a(nother) request for your happiness but that you see unhealthy patterns, dynamics, and demands put on him. He's barely used to people being concerned for him for his own sake.

Is unconscious of him guarding himself from his lover. He will act as everything was fine without opening up about things that worry him. It takes a long time to slowly remove the bricks from his walls.

Another family issue is his relationship with his younger brother: Sasuke is one of Itachi's top priorities, even when Sasuke messes up. Their dynamic is not always harmonic either because Sasuke feels so often inadequate, if not jealous when compared to his brother.

It's quiet asymetrical how much work you've to put into Itachi standing up for himself (and your relationship) against his family but he will immediately do a 180 flip for his little brother, no questions asked.

Can't take breaks. Tries not to let his composed façade crack, so even if he knows if he's overworked, struggles with health, he's too stressed out by all the things he wants to get done to stop for his own sake.

At risk to implode from external pressure. 

What the two of you need is private space where time belongs to you and into which his family can't just barge in as they please. 

It's disheartening how little he would actually open up to you, be vulnerable. It's about him feeling safe around you to be himself. Give him time don't push him but set boundaries how much you can bear to see him struggling with the weight on his shoulder.

Obito Uchiha

a lot of problems begin and end with Obito's deeply seated insecurity. Things like his work or making his idealized visions give a strong sense of control and mastering the situation so they became his compensatory tactics. Not that he can't learn and rethink small things but he can be so stubborn, some criticism may reach far deeper into is self-confidence than you or even he actually expected.

Since his childhood he spend so much time in isolation, he can also be emotionally immature and trying to fill the void from all the things he has been deprived of.

Emotionally immature when it comes to romance. In the beginning of your relationship his state of mind is basically the one of a hormonal teenager.

Being with someone in a romantic way fulfils multiple needs for Obito: Being finally shown affection he's so starved for, well um... "physical yearning", finally a stable constant in his life.

May not seem like it but only functions at work because there hardships of life can be solved with a clear goal. Tendencies to be a workaholic to bury emotions he doesn't know how to handle.

In the beginning you're basically an idol  for his emotional salvation. You having diverging expectations, or don't need or want all cliché romantic gestures but Obito being himself is something he needs to learn.

Needs basic sex ed. He knows a lot from having read Icha Icha during down time but oh boy. Some moments when you first had sex were baffling if not hilarious with some ideas Obito had.

So headstrong. When he's convinced of what he does is correct counterarguments are either ignored or escalate into heated fights. Takes counterarguments 

But also actually very insecure. Obito is so insecure about conflict, too self conscious of his looks, of past mistake that he tries to overcompensate with any other quality, only to then implode that he's not enough in any way.

Obito needs to learn that differing opinions don't mean immediate break up or the end of the world. You'll love him through the thick and the thin. 

He will need to learn that pushing you away because of self loathing is what causes the rift, not what he hates himself about him.

Shisui Uchiha Most stable of all of them.

but like all of them his family, more accurately their expectations for other family members, are a source of omnipresent pressure.

Since he's not part of the main family expectations are not as high but he too has to act the proper part.

Tries to keep you away from family affairs to the extent of him wanting to do with them as little as possible. 

Itachi's fine, Sasuke's around too but these two are the exception. Even they won't talk about family matters though.

So there's always a part of his life you feel excluded from, the part Shisui only shares with Itachi.

Easy going in relationships but kinda tends to overlook underlying problems. To Shisui being with you is a refuge from family drama where he's the happiest, and well... compared to what the Uchihas can be up to any problem can be minor.

But Shisui is understanding though. If you clearly speak your mind how you're unhappy with the way certain things are, he might be able to get around to better things.

But you also need to be an active part in your time together. Whereas Shisui's cousins have very personal flaws, Shisui himself is a very reasonable person. You can grow together.

A bit secretive. Nothing major that would burden your relationship still you wish he'd be able to talk about uncomfortable things a bit more...

Don't swallow up frustration but look out for the right time to confront Shisui with things that bother you. If he feels stressed with work and family matters he can get quiet aggressive in tone.

Those five words were meant to console her. They were meant to offer her a temporary peace, a ripple of calm in the midst of her raging sea of emotions. And yet, coming out of Itachi's mouth, all it did was make her angry.

Still clad in his ANBU uniform, Itachi stood before her nothing in his expressoin giving away what he was feeling. They were face to face, him on her front porch, her huddled behind her door, the entrance to the home she had once shared with Shisui. She stared at him, hard, trying to find something, anything that would give away any hint of the emotion she was sure he had to be feeling. After all, Shisui had been his best friend.

And now he was dead.

"If there's anything I can do—" But she cut him off with a cold look.

"Unless you can bring him back," She whispered harshly, voice wavering over several octaves as she tried to keep herself steady. "Then there's nothing you can do, Shinobi-San."

If the use of the unfamiliar honorific bothered him at all, he didn't show it. Before today, Y/N could confidently say that she and Itachi had once been close. Mutual friends brought together by none other then Shisui Uchiha. Shisui had dragged them both to local pubs, gotten himself drunk beyond reason and then proceeded to force them all to have a sleepover on more than one occasion.

Because of Shisui, Y/N knew what Itachi's favorite drink was. She knew that he slept on his left side, hands nestled neatly under his chin. She knew that he had a younger brother named Sasuke, whom he adored more than anyone else, and that his favorite way to spend his days off was to spend them with him. She also knew that Itachi was Shisui's favorite person, that he loved him like the brother he never had.

Loved him more than anyone. Loved him more than he could ever love her.

"Y/N," There was a softness in Itachi's voice now and he took a step forward, wedging a foot by the door, like he was afraid she'd shut it. "I'm sorry. I truly am."

She didn't reply, only glared at the ground, trying, trying so hard to keep the tears at bay.

"He did it for you."

"No," Now her eyes snapped upward, meeting his ebony gaze. She felt the rage bubble up in her chest, and her voice was nothing more than a snarl when she spoke. "He did it for you."

And then she shoved him back and slammed the door shut.

Three weeks later, Y/N found herself surrounded by boxes, the home she had once shared with Shisui empty. It had taken her two weeks to summon the courage to come back to the house, and even then, she had stood outside the door for a long time, preparing herself. She was selling the house, she had decided, but had put off packing everything until the day before she was due to move out. And now the only room in the house that was still untouched was the bedroom. Their bedroom.

No. There was no 'them' anymore. There was only a her. From the moment Shisui had made his decision there was only ever going to be a her.

But she needed to get this done. Not so much for the contracters but for herself. She needed this.

So she pushed through the door and into the bedroom. Despite the fact that Shisui hadn't perished there, the room felt like a grave. This was the last place he had held her. The last place he had kissed her, had laughed with her, had been with her. Maybe her eyes were playing tricks on her, but from the corner of her eyes, she saw bloodstains on the drawers.

She stifled the thoughts down. Standing there was just as suffocating as she thought it would be, but she kept telling herself it would better once she got it over with. Then she would never have to come here again. So she went to one of the drawers first, pulling it open, eager to occupy herself and just be done with it.

Blindly, she shoved his things into a box, not really paying attention to what she was putting. That was, until her fingers grasped something that made the undeniable sound of the crinkle of paper. Until she glanced down the paper and so two letters written on the folded paper. Two letters. Her initals.

The box dropped from her hands, cluttering to the floor.

With shaking fingers, she unfolded the paper, trying not to get her hopes up. It could just be a coincidence. After all, Itachi had already told her about Shisui's letter, that it was in the hands of the ANBU for investigation purposes. It had been short and to the point. It hadn't mentioned her.

Her name. Her name in black ink in Shisui's messy handwriting. Her eyes widened as she skimmed the paper full with long paragraphs. It was a letter. For her. Shisui had written her a letter. There was no date on it, she didn't know how long this peice of Shisui had been sitting here for.

Truthfully, the Copy Ninja is purposefully elusive, always seeking the old familiar feeling of solitude just out of arm's reach, for his closest companions flock to him regardless if he wants them around or not. Deep down, he is grateful for their stubbornness.

as an adult, shisui works on initiating programs that aid disabled shinobi, both active and retired. he works to establish a program in the academy that trains (and re-trains, if it is the result of an injury/illness later in life) blind nin to navigate the world and fight using their other heightened abilities. he works with matching disabled genin with sensei’s who are well particularly matched to their strengths and can support their training and development best. he becomes a jonin sensei one day, to the first entirely disabled genin team. he also works closely with the hokage to give more policy support to accessibility in the leaf.

a/n: aww thank you I really appreciate that! I'm glad to be back. Haha yes gotta love our mans Neji he's just the sweetest, awkward (beautiful) bean. Now I actually hadn't known about lithosexuality before this so it was really interesting to look into (especially as someone who also identifies on the ace spectrum - demi) so I hope I did this justice! Neji Hyuga

Neji honestly doesn't know much about different sexualities and identities when he is younger thanks to the conservative environment he grew up in. He doesn't even know what he identifies as until later when his world view gets opened up tbh.

That is exactly what happens the day you sit down and explain to him your sexuality. It's very blunt and to the point. It ends with something along the lines of 'So yeah, that's me.'

Yeah that's you. As if you didn't just blow his entire world view. 'Oh.' He says as if he doesn't want to ask But how did you figure all that out by yourself?

If he did ask that you could have bonked him on the head and told him of course you didn't. You figure it out through other people. By reading, talking, etc. But he didn't he just sits there stunned looking out at the trees while you try not to laugh at his lopsidded expression.

But its through this stunned encounter and many more conversations that Neji learns he is demisexual. Huh so there was a word for what he was after all? He feels? Satisfied? No. He feels a little more certain. Of himself and the world. A lightness in his step.

If you told him you are sex repulsed Neji is the type to be the most understanding and respectful. (You also have to tell him exactly what it means though because he's a little confused at first but he's got the spirit) Finds out your boundaries the second it comes up. Never strays from them.

Madara Uchiha

A who what when where how? Confusion. However, he's an attentive listener when it comes to all things serious. Especially if you're someone important to him. Doesn't mean he's not all smirky and making jokes to ease to tension. They're not in poor taste but he's so awkward lmao.

He makes talking about it fun nonetheless. But he also feels bad for all the times he flirted with you because he flirts with everyone (he's a natural flirt) and now he feels like he needs to apologise bc he's that guy. You can take it or tell him to stop trying to be a gentlemen it's not for him lmao.

I can see the conversation just casually going into the lighthearted territory after this. The two of you just talking about sexualities in general. Madara casually being like oh pan? Yep that one. Mine. Okay congratualitions sir. Label yourself to your hearts content.

Real talk though this bastards a little smug just by the fact that you trusted him enough to tell him. He feels important. Special.

Tell him that you're sex repulsed and he's also confused. Like he can put the words together and he THINKS he knows what it means but you really should make sure because his mind can just take off sometimes. Shisui Uchiha

I feel like he's going to be the kind of guy who knows a little about this sort of thing? Like you think he's going to be surprised with that carefree front he puts up but he always just knows everything about everything. Damn anbu man.

'Oh yeah that's kind of like when you don't want someone reciprocating sexual attraction right?' He just drops on you in reply. and all you have to say back is 'Yeah kind of.' To which you go on to explain exactly how it is for you.

And he listens. LIKE ACTIVELY LISTENS. Eyes watching. Head nodding. Absorbing everything like its a damn assignment. Such a sweet guy. The best friend like ugh. The best. Asks questions too when he doesn't understand.

'Does that mean you don't ever want to date either?' and then 'Oh wait is that to invasive? Sorry I got to curious don't feel like you have to answer.' Like super curious but also considerate. He's just super interested in finding out more about but also learning about you since you're in his life.

Since the discussion was so deep and serious he'll end it with. 'Well that was great lets go grab some dango.' As if it were just any other day. It's the pure acceptance and sweetness for me.

As for sex repulsion he'd probably also know what it is but want you to clarify what it is for you (if it was something you were wanting to discuss since you brought it up) He wouldn't say to much other than 'Aw thanks for telling me.' But would ask questions again if they were prompted.

I adore Danzo being in a way privy to Tobirama's secret obsessions and secrets, even if, when you think about it a lot, Danzo has plenty in common with Madara, of all people.

I am fairly sure there is a fanfic out there, with Danzo breaking through seals of Tobirama's secret laboratory and Tobirama is just here, waiting for him to finally arrive inside so he can introduce his collection of Uchiha eyes... I can't find it now and I don't remember where it was... But yeah, there was one.

I wouldn't say it would be learned way of showing love but it could tie within Danzo's personal philosophy of appreciating assets, people as tools - and Uchiha are definitely amazing assets at that - mixing with Tobirama's brand of focus on Uchiha and all wrapped in a cute dark bow of all of it spiralling further, including Danzo's lust for control and power as well as knowledge Tobirama made him privy to. It all could focus on Shisui, who may not even know what he was hit with.

I really want to write about Itachi finding happiness as a stay-at-home parent, but told through the perspective of everyone around him.

Mikoto torn between her elation that her eldest son has finally done something he wanted, and the existential horror of being a grandmother at 40. She watches him take everything about child rearing in stride, not with the stoicism that she's so used to seeing on him, but with a little gentle smile. It's almost ironic that now, as an adult with their own child, Itachi feels younger than ever.

Shisui surprises himself with his bittersweet feelings. He's elated that Itachi has carved a life for himself that actually makes him happy, because there's no one more than him who understands how much the shinobi lifestyle was killing the natural born pacifist. But he doesn't feel that he can ever escape in the same way, and losing the person who was taking that journey beside him has made him feel surprisingly lonely. He will be the first to admit though that he'd rather face 200 furious Iwa shinobi than deal with the horrific nappy blowouts he's seen Itachi have to face.

Kakashi catching sight of Itachi at the market, almost a year after he resigned from the shinobi, with a tiny baby strapped to his chest. It feels very strange at first, watching someone who was almost as entrenched in that life as he has always been, escaping to raise children. But Kakashi can't deny that Itachi looks brighter and lighter than he's ever seen him. He still navigates the crowd with the grace of a shinobi, but there's a spark in his eyes that Kakashi is surprised didn't die many years ago.

Sasuke, despite having been wholly and vocally against Itachi's retirement and 'having a baby' fiasco, having to begrudgingly admit that Itachi did seem different, and not in a bad way. He's smiling more, something that Sasuke didn't notice he did so infrequently before until confronted with him as he is now. He's offering to train Sasuke more, cooking him dinner, inviting him over. In many ways, they are closer than ever before. It's still weird that Itachi gave up the career that sasuke wants more than anything, it's still weird that he has an actual baby human person now, but... maybe it's nice too, not that he'll ever admit it out loud.

Some of these will be Modern-AUish, some canon compliant, and some Akatsuki AU.

Whenever Sasuke sees something that's interesting to (only) him as a child he rushes to Itachi to share it. Itachi is his go-to person whenever he wants to share something. Itachi sometimes lets Sasuke's excitement slide because he's too busy/too tired, and little Sasuke is infuriated. He expresses his fury in form of stomping his feet, walking around the house with a pout. He keeps yelling in front of Itachi's room that no one loves him and genuinely looks sad. No one understands why Sasuke is acting so weird until Itachi picks on it and gives Sasuke some treat. It's super easy to please him.

Itachi is a bad cook. Sasuke is even worse. That's why whenever their parents aren't home, Itachi cooks and Sasuke waits instead of helping him. One time when Sasuke "helped", it almost invited disaster. Itachi swore to never let Sasuke in since then. Sasuke is super salty because what he did at 12 shouldn't be held against him, right? Itachi won't listen. Their parents have no idea about it. So, whenever Itachi cooks something in his millionth attempt, certain that he made the dish perfect, Sasuke always shoots him down with "I've had better". Though later at night he sneaks into the kitchen to finish the rest, because why not.

Sasuke likes to hang out with Madara, but he's always been scared of the old man. Sasuke says he looks good only when he's not speaking or smiling. He always hides behind Itachi whenever Madara is visiting them. Itachi often uses it against Sasuke when he won't let him finish his work. "Go to sleep, Sasuke, or Madara uncle will come." It's an inside joke and Madara is definitely not pleased because he loves kids. He doesn't want to be the bad guy in Sasuke's eyes.

Both the brothers love to go on long cycle rides, especially in summers.

Naruto and Sasuke have a lot of sleepovers. Whenever Sasuke has to go to Naruto's house, Itachi drops him there. And when Naruto has to come to Sasuke's house, they want Itachi to tell them horror stories. Not overly keen on scaring them both, he tries to evade, but Naruto wouldn't listen. To set the mood, all the lights are kept off, and as soon as Itachi starts, Naruto hides himself in covers, and Sasuke rolls his eyes. Although later at night neither Naruto nor Sasuke want to go out alone to pee. Sasuke is just as scared as Naruto. He just doesn't want to show.

Minato and Kushina love both the brothers. Because of them their families are super close as well. Occasionally, Minato would take all the three kids to some other city/fun place, and come home super exhausted, because Naruto and Sasuke are a menace.

When they're kids, and Mikoto and Fugaku have to leave for a few hours, Kakashi and Yamato have to babysit them. Kakashi hates it because he'd rather be reading his books, but Yamato loves spending time with them. He loves to spoil both the kids. Sasuke just ends up pulling Yamato's hair and also tries to pull Kakashi's mask. But he can't.

Itachi has a Danzo plushie, decorated with red marks and is beaten down badly as if Itachi likes to punch it every time he's mad. Mikoto is horrified because since when her sweet child become this violent. Fugaku gives Itachi a treat when he learns this. Sasuke just likes to pull Danzo plushie's ears because they're fun to him.

Sasuke hates Shisui and Izumi at home. They steal the time he can spend with his nii-san. But when Itachi is not home, Shisui takes Sasuke with him and they train and Shisui deliberately loses his matches. Sasuke tells everything to Itachi with glee that he defeated Shisui when they trained together. Sasuke grudgingly admits to himself only that he likes spending time with Shisui too, but he won't ever feed Shisui's ego, because his nii-san is still the best.

Kisame is another person Sasuke is scared of. But he gets to like him. If anything, if ever Sasuke is mad at his brother, Kisame sides with Sasuke, and tells his brother how terrible of a big brother Itachi is. One day, Sasuke spent exactly 30 minutes complaining about Itachi to Kisame. And obviously, Kisame lectured Itachi that evening.

Being Itachi's little brother, Sasuke is the unofficial member of the Akatsuki. He has his own tiny Akatsuki robe. He doesn't understand why he doesn't get "dangerous" missions like his brother does. They tell him he's the most important person in the Akatsuki, so he must get special treatment. They keep all the gory shit out of his knowledge.

Sasuke really, really dislikes Kakuzu. He also finds Hidan weird. He wants to protect his brother from Deidara because Deidara just seems like he's obsessed with his brother. Itachi must be protected from him.

The people Sasuke loves in the Akatsuki after his brother are Konan and Sasori. Sasori makes puppets/toys for him (without all the blood and stuff) and gifts them to Sasuke. Konan is like a mom to him. In Itachi's absence she takes care of Sasuke.
