Unfortunately for him, the blind date is with a man named Sam Wilson who's the most attractive man Bucky's ever seen. During the date, Sam makes it obvious he's into Bucky too and tries to make a move multiple times. When Bucky has to deny kissing Sam, the mission officially becomes impossible.

Oh, this is making me think of one of my absolute favourites things. Bucky pining and yearning and waiting oh so patiently for Sam. Until it’s just too much.

So no powers AU. Sam and Bucky have been friends since forever probably. Bucky fell years ago and has kept mostly a secret. As in, almost everyone but Sam knows. Because Bucky is just so obvious, and it’s there in the way he looks at Sam and says his name.

And maybe one day the whole group is out and Sam brings a date and they’re dancing and they leave early and Bucky is watching and it hurts. It just hurts so much.

So he starts to pull away and put some distance between them. Sam is so confused and mad and hurt and he keeps trying to talk to Bucky and gets no answer. Until one day he goes to Bucky’s place and confronts him and Bucky is just so tired and so over it he screams, “I’m in love with you and it fucking hurts.”

steve accidentally sets up two blind dates on the same evening and because he’s kinda dumb and can’t just cancel one dinner he asks his best friend bucky to go to one of them while steve heads off to the other, and surprise bucky meets sam and bucky is instantly like oh my god- because there at table 7 sits the most gorgeous man he’s ever seen.

Sam didn’t expect it to go so sideways. It was an abandoned warehouse, for god’s sake. It wasn’t supposed to go so wrong. Steve was on the other side of the world, chasing an empty lead, same as Sam.

Sam was sitting up against one of the last standing walls in the warehouse, trying to keep his breath steady, trying to pull himself together, feeling the blood ooze from his side.

“Wilson?” Bucky croaked out, moving rumble out of the way as he made his way towards Sam.

“Barnes?” If Sam was more level headed, he would think about how this was the first time Bucky had approached him. Right now, he's only focused on how much blood he's losing right now.

“Jesus, Wilson, you’re bleeding.”

“No shit.” Sam slurred, feeling the weight of his injuries heavy on his eyelids. Bucky stumbled next to Sam, kneeling beside Sam.

“Keep your eyes open for me, Sam.” Bucky murmured. Sam found Bucky’s eyes to fixate on, the focus etched in the blue of his eyes. There was a comfort there, a comfort Sam didn't want to think about. Bucky tore Sam’s jacket and undershirt away, both ripped to practically shreds, finding the clothing stained with blood. “It’s bad, Sam.”

“Again, no shit.” Sam whispered. Bucky’s lips quirked up just, a bit, before tearing his own undershirt off, ripping a strip off to tie on Sam’s wound.

“You got anywhere to go?” Bucky asked, his voice thick with a fading Russian accent.

“No.” Sam mumbled, shaking his head.

“Okay, come with me then.”

I have had these ideas for a few days, but I don't have enough time to write, and my writing is an abomination. so I'm gonna post the prompts here, anyone can use these and write. and if any of you do, please be a kind angel and send me the link to the fic🥺🥺

1st prompt:

After taking the mantle of Captain America, Sam starts training Joaquin to be the falcon. One day, he introduces Sam to all the sambucky fanfics online after talking about some rumors about Sam dating his colleague, best friend with who he lives together. After that when Sam finds a little bit of time, he ends up reading fanfics, his growing love for Bucky doesn't help either. He finds one writer who gets his and Bucky's dynamic way too perfectly, sometimes even posting about things that have actually happened between him and Bucky. It kind of freaks Sam out, but he keeps reading. later he finds out that Bucky is that writer, secretly posting all those fics. and they confess and all...

2nd prompt:

It's pretty much the same as the first one, except this time Bucky has this fan account dedicated to Sam and sambucky, and he takes extreme measures to learn digital art so that he can draw fanarts about them. He tries his best to be subtle, but it's a bit tough when he and his crush live together and sometimes use the same laptop.

3rd prompt:

Someone gives Sam a magical fruit/or any type of food, it could be Wanda/Thor/Loki/Strange/America Chavez/Shang-Chi/one of the guardians- basically, anyone who has access to magical powers or different dimensions and realms. That food enhances one's inner magical abilities to read the mind of someone non-stop, someone who they love dearly but never confessed to. Now, Sam can't stop reading Bucky's mind, and he's surprised to find Bucky thinking about him all the time. [Bucky might have just tooth rotting fluffy thoughts or horny ones, or both lol. well, if anyone writes this and takes it to the horny side, I would love to read the implications of bottom!Bucky. but if you're into bottom!Sam, then that is alright too!

Okay, so for for i can't help falling in love with you, which is such a sambucky song btw, I would definitely go with them dancing, because there are very few things I love more than sambucky dancing.

So it’s a quiet night in, and Sam has music on as he cooks as usual, Bucky in another room, maybe doing the laundry, and this song comes on and Sam starts singing quietly along and Bucky just pauses and listens and takes it in, just how peaceful and comfortable and happy they are, here in their home and it’s almost overwhelming.

The song is almost over when he makes it to the kitchen and he immediately replays it and pulls Sam close for a dance.

As for if these wings could fly, maybe childhood best friends, then one of them moved away. They stayed in touch as much as they could but the distance was too much and eventually they grew apart.

Until years later when they find themselves working at the same place and it’s almost like no time has passed at all and they’re talking again and catching up and it’s all just so easy. Maybe the place they work at is at a whole another country and being with each other is a comfort, helps with the homesickness.

And in true romcom fashion, they fall in love.

The FAQ & Guidelines of the Event

So, I know people have questions about the event. What you can make. How long the event runs. You can go to the FAQ & Guidelines page for this information as well, but I thought I'd make it into a post just in case.

What is this?

It’s a little SamBucky Bingo.

Is there any pressure?

No pressure at all. Fill one square. Fill all nine. Do however many you please.

Can I fill more than one square with one piece of art/one fic?

Yes! You can fill one square with one piece of art or fic. You can try to fill all nine at once with one piece of art or fic. You can do any number in between.

Are there any prizes for making a bingo or a blackout?

Just the satisfaction that you made something cool.

Is it just SamBucky?

Yes please, just SamBucky. There can be side ships, but the main ship should be SamBucky.

How long will this event run?

It will run until November 14th, so that people can have a little time after Halloween to turn things in.

What does the bingo card look like?

Here it is.

I heard there are badges I can use for each bingo fill?

There are! Use these for your bingo fills if you’d like to.

What are the guidelines to the bingo?

I will be borrowing some of this from the MYSU Valentine’s Day Bingo 2022 Guidelines, since they were fantastic.

Things to be mindful of when creating:

For Sam

Avoid framing Sam only as a caretaker or emotional support for Bucky. Be mindful of Sam acting angry or aggressive in an out-of-character way and falling into the angry/sassy Black man trope (check out the MCU source material to help with character traits).

Avoid decentering Sam as a main character and refrain from focusing entirely on Bucky.

In art: avoid whitewashing Sam’s skin and research drawing Black characters.

General disclaimer: Race affects every aspect of his life, including interacting with police/government and the white structures of the world when it comes to performing his duties as Cap and simply being a Black man that lives in the U.S.

For Bucky

Avoid phrasing “flesh/normal/human hand” to refer to the contrast between his prosthetic arm and his right arm. The phrasing is ableist. You can simply refer to his prosthesis when relevant, otherwise use “right/left arm/hand”.

Specific Tags:

Avoid tags in AO3 like “Sam Wilson is a Gift” or “Sam Wilson is a Saint”.
