Scripts - S6 - Episode 29 (2 of 2)
Finding out what Ozzy one of the boys did
You notice Ozzy alone by the swing seat, looking deep in thought.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Hey, Ozzy.
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: Oh, {0}.
OZZY_HAPPY: It’s good to see you again.
OZZY_IDLE: Been waiting to chat again actually. After everything on the terrace.
OZZY_FLIRTY: Can’t get over that kiss…
OZZY_IDLE: Been thinking a lot about what we talked about.
PLAYER_IDLE: Can we talk about that later? There’s actually something I need to ask you about.
OZZY_SURPRISED: Oh right, sure.
OZZY_HAPPY: You can ask me anything, {0}.
OZZY_HAPPY: Just the person I wanted to speak to.
PLAYER_IDLE: There’s some things I wanted to talk to you about as well, actually.
OZZY_IDLE: Let me go first.
OZZY_IDLE: There’s something I need to get off my chest.
OZZY_SERIOUS: Well, a few things really.
PLAYER_SURPRISED: What is it?
OZZY_SERIOUS: Honestly, I wanted to grab you at some point.
OZZY_SAD: To let you know, when I thought you’d been dumped…
OZZY_SAD: I was heartbroken.
OZZY_SERIOUS: Genuinely, I didn't sleep that night.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Really?
OZZY_SERIOUS: I had so much on my mind and so much I wanted to say to you.
OZZY_SERIOUS: And then after the shock of you getting dumped settled down.
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: It struck me how much I was missing having you around.
OZZY_SERIOUS: Not seeing you when I was in the gym or making my breakfast.
OZZY_IDLE: Just made me realise how important you’ve been for me in here.
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: Does that sound a bit much, that I really missed you?
I really missed you too
PLAYER_HAPPY: It doesn’t sound too much at all. I really missed you as well.
PLAYER_HAPPY: It was strange not having you around.
OZZY_HAPPY: You have no idea how happy hearing that makes me.
OZZY_IDLE: I felt this knot in my stomach when you were <i>dumped</i>.
OZZY_SERIOUS: You told me you felt the same about me the day you left.
OZZY_SERIOUS: So I was so worried I’d missed my chance.
OZZY_IDLE: You’d said you weren’t ready to commit to me before you left.
OZZY_SERIOUS: And I’m not asking you to do that now. Not at all.
OZZY_SERIOUS: But I’m glad we felt the same way.
OZZY_HAPPY: I’m glad we were both feeling it.
OZZY_HAPPY: I would have felt like a right loser if it was only me missing you.
PLAYER_HAPPY: Guess we were both losers, then.
It’s a bit much
PLAYER_SERIOUS: That sounds a bit much. Not gonna lie.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: I can’t say I was missing you all that much.
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: Ah, right. Ok.
OZZY_HAPPY: Maybe I’m just getting a little ahead of myself.
OZZY_SERIOUS: Just wanted to let you know I was missing you, that’s all.
OZZY_HAPPY: I made it sound deeper than it was.
Shouldn’t you have been missing Grace, instead?
PLAYER_SERIOUS: That’s lovely. But I think you’ve mistaken me for Grace.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: You know, the girl you’re coupled up with?
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Shouldn’t you be saying this to her, not me?
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: Yeah, I just meant it in a friendly way.
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: Like it was just quieter without you here.
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: Didn’t mean it in a really deep way or anything.
OZZY_IDLE: What did you want to talk to me about, then?
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Well, I’ve spent all afternoon chatting with everyone.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Trying to get to the bottom of what happened on the night of the postcards.
Ozzy instantly goes red in the face.
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: Oh, right. And do you know what happened?
I think I could have a pretty close guess
PLAYER_SERIOUS: I’m sure I could have a good guess.
You look at Ozzy with a raised eyebrow.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: {0} told me he saw {1} hyping up some of the girls.
I’m still trying to work it out
PLAYER_EMBARRASSED: I’m still trying to work out exactly what went down.
Ozzy looks at you innocently.
OZZY_SERIOUS: Ah, that’s a shame.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: I’ll tell you what I know though. Maybe we can figure it out together.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: {0} told me he saw {1} hyping up some of the girls.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: And {0} told me he saw {1} hyping up <i>you</i>.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Telling you to forget about Grace and crack on.
Ozzy looks to the floor, embarrassed.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: And Elliot mentioned he saw something in the pool.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: And {0} was told that Elliot saw something in the pool.
OZZY_SURPRISED: Wait? Elliot saw? What did he see?
PLAYER_SERIOUS: He saw a pair of trunks and two bikini tops in the pool.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: So, if I was gonna try and piece it all together I’d say…
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: Ok, ok. Stop.
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: This is best coming from me.
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: I should have aired this all with you earlier.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Go on.
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: After the postcards, I was convinced that Grace’s head had been turned.
OZZY_SAD: From the look of the postcard we received...
OZZY_SAD: It seemed like you girls might be moving on.
OZZY_SAD: It felt like anything I shared with you or Grace was coming to an end.
OZZY_IDLE: You saw how me and Grace were before Casa. One hurdle after another.
OZZY_SERIOUS: Less teething problems more just, problems.
OZZY_SERIOUS: I was sure she’d crack on and I’d get left single and maybe dumped.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: So...
OZZY_SERIOUS: So, {0} caught me out here on my own.
OZZY_SERIOUS: I was feeling sorry for myself. Just accepting that my journey could be over.
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: He convinced me to crack on with one of the new girls.
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: I guess {0} must have overheard that chat.
OZZY_SERIOUS: I got talking to two of the girls and we stayed out later than everyone else.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: The girls {0} was hyping up?
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: I suppose, but don’t take {0}’s word on that…
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: I don’t think {0} meant for anything to happen.
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: He was probably just trying to get the girls to stay away from him.
OZZY_SERIOUS: Anyway, things escalated because we decided to go for a late night dip.
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: Well, it was more of a skinny dip.
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: Hence why Elliot found the trunks and bikinis in the pool.
PLAYER_SURPRISED: So you and two girls had a skinny dip in the pool?
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: Yeah.
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: And then it escalated a bit.
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: And we ended up kissing.
PLAYER_SURPRISED: Who did you kiss?
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: Errr, both of them. It was a three-way kiss.
I can’t believe you’ve been so dishonest!
PLAYER_ANGRY: You had a three-way kiss and have tried to keep it from us?
PLAYER_ANGRY: Did you seriously think we wouldn’t find out?
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: I didn’t know what to do. It just happened.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Where is it?
OZZY_SURPRISED: Where’s what?
PLAYER_ANGRY: Where’s the sign on my head that says treat like an idiot?
PLAYER_SERIOUS: I told you I felt the same about you before Casa and this is how you’ve reacted?
OZZY_SAD: I thought you were moving on.
OZZY_SAD: And I didn’t want to be dumped if Grace twisted.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: This feels incredibly dishonest.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: I’m really really shocked with you, Ozzy.
You’re making me jealous
PLAYER_SURPRISED: You had a three-way kiss in the pool?
PLAYER_FLIRTY: Sounds hot. I’m jealous.
OZZY_SURPRISED: You’re not annoyed?
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Of course I’m annoyed.
PLAYER_FLIRTY: I’m annoyed I wasn’t there to get stuck in myself.
PLAYER_FLIRTY: Sounds like I really missed out on some fun while I was away.
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: Yeah, it was fun when it happened initially.
OZZY_FLIRTY: Pretty hot.
OZZY_SERIOUS: But I’ll be real with you.
Grace isn’t gonna like that
PLAYER_SURPRISED: You had a three-way kiss?
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: Is it really bad?
PLAYER_SURPRISED: It’s pretty bad, Ozzy. Won’t lie to you.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Made worse by the fact you’ve tried to hide it from Grace.
PLAYER_HAPPY: I can’t see her being too happy.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Infact, I think she’ll be fuming.
OZZY_SAD: I don’t know what I was thinking.
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: When we all left the pool, I went to bed on my own.
OZZY_SAD: I instantly felt so bad.
OZZY_SAD: I could feel it in my gut.
PLAYER_IDLE: I think that’s called regret.
OZZY_SERIOUS: I still feel it now.
OZZY_SERIOUS: I just don’t know how to tell Grace about it.
You absolutely need to tell her
PLAYER_SERIOUS: The longer you wait before telling her, the worse it will be.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: You should tell her like 5 minutes ago, Ozzy.
OZZY_SERIOUS: I know. In my heart that’s the right thing to do.
OZZY_SAD: It’s just not easy. I don’t want to upset her.
PLAYER_IDLE: She’ll find out eventually. Better to come from you.
OZZY_SERIOUS: You’re right. I need to tell her.
I’d keep it a secret
PLAYER_IDLE: Honestly, I would keep that on the downlow.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: If people find out there’s gonna be drama.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: And if you tell people yourself, there’s gonna be drama.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: So, you might as well cross your fingers and keep it quiet.
PLAYER_IDLE: Hope no one finds out.
OZZY_SAD: I get that. I just feel bad lying to Grace any longer.
OZZY_SAD: She doesn’t deserve it.
If you don’t tell her, I will
PLAYER_SERIOUS: If you don’t tell Grace about this, I will.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: It’s not fair on her if you keep this a secret.
OZZY_SAD: I know, I know. It’s the right thing to do.
OZZY_SERIOUS: I need to go and tell her myself.
Suddenly, the chat is interrupted when Ozzy sees Flo approaching.
FLO_HAPPY: Hey, guys. What are we talking about?
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: I was just about to head off.
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: I have a lot to think about.
As Ozzy leaves, Flo looks a little shocked.
FLO_SERIOUS: Did I say something?
FLO_HAPPY: He turned and practically ran away the second I showed up.
PLAYER_HAPPY: You didn’t say anything, don't worry.
PLAYER_IDLE: It was a heavy chat.
FLO_EMBARRASSED: Sorry for interrupting.
PLAYER_HAPPY: It’s alright. I found out what happened on the night of the postcards.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Your hunch was spot on. The boys were hiding something.
FLO_SURPRISED: How did you find out? Their lips were sealed when I asked.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Well... basically, I cross examined all the boys.
FLO_HAPPY: That’s hilarious.
FLO_FLIRTY: Was my boy {0} a reliable witness?
Not initially
PLAYER_SERIOUS: I had to ask him more than once.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: He was sworn by Bro Code.
FLO_ANGRY: That’s ridiculous.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: But he revealed his secrets soon enough.
FLO_SERIOUS: Well, at least he came around.
He was super honest
PLAYER_HAPPY: He was a star. Couldn’t have figured it out without him.
FLO_HAPPY: Aww, that’s great.
FLO_HAPPY: Maybe I’ve actually picked a genuinely nice guy for once.
FLO_HAPPY: And not a self-obsessed surfer whose mum still does their washing up.
PLAYER_HAPPY: Fingers crossed.
FLO_EMBARRASSED: Sorry. I’ve had a run of stinkers. Just hope he isn’t one.
Incredibly unhelpful
PLAYER_ANGRY: He was useless.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Said he couldn’t tell me because of Bro Code.
FLO_ANGRY: Urgh, I need to sit down after hearing that.
FLO_SERIOUS: How old does he think he is?
PLAYER_SERIOUS: I eventually got the truth out of him but he was very resistant.
FLO_SERIOUS: I’m disappointed. Thought he was more honest. Clearly not.
FLO_SERIOUS: And what was it you found out then?
PLAYER_IDLE: Ozzy had a three-way kiss in the pool with two of the new girls.
Flo’s jaw nearly hits the floor.
FLO_SURPRISED: Oh my days!
FLO_SURPRISED: Does this mean... Ozzy’s like a secret player or something?
I think he was just confused
PLAYER_EMBARRASSED: I feel a bit bad for him. I think he was just confused.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: He had it in his head that Grace would twist.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: And apparently he saw me with someone on the postcard.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: So, he decided to try and crack on to not get dumped.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Partly, thanks to {0} egging him on.
FLO_SURPRISED: You’re kidding?
PLAYER_SERIOUS: That's what Ozzy and {0} said.
FLO_SERIOUS: That’s not very cool. I’ll have a word.
I don’t know who he is anymore
PLAYER_SURPRISED: Maybe? I don’t know who he is anymore.
PLAYER_SURPRISED: He’s shocked me with this three-way kiss nonsense.
FLO_SERIOUS: I can’t believe it either.
FLO_SURPRISED: Seems so unlike him.
Marshall was right about him
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Marshall dished to us OG girls about him over in Casa.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: He told us he was disloyal and bounced between girls.
FLO_SERIOUS: Maybe there’s some truth to that?
PLAYER_SURPRISED: That’s what I’m thinking.
FLO_SURPRISED: What about poor Grace?
PLAYER_SERIOUS: He needs to tell her, now.
FLO_SERIOUS: Absolutely. Hopefully, that’s where he ran off to when I interrupted.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Hopefully she doesn’t find out.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: I told him if he doesn’t tell her, I will.
FLO_HAPPY: That’s badass from you. Love it.
FLO_SERIOUS: Well, we’ll know if he tells her or not.
FLO_SERIOUS: We’ll see and hear the fireworks from here, I imagine.
FLO_SERIOUS: This does prove one thing.
PLAYER_SURPRISED: What’s that?
FLO_HAPPY: That when I’m suspicious of men, it’s always for a genuine reason.
FLO_FLIRTY: Anyway, I’m not suspicious of you, {0}.
FLO_FLIRTY: You’ve got a cool vibe.
She looks at you with a sparkle in her eye.
FLO_SERIOUS: I have to ask if this whole Casa debacle has swung your head.
FLO_IDLE: Which Islander are you the most into right this second?
{0}
PLAYER_FLIRTY: I’m most into {0} right now.
FLO_FLIRTY: Aww, you cuties.
FLO_FLIRTY: The chemistry you guys have is undeniable.
FLO_FLIRTY: The way he looks at you melts me.
FLO_FLIRTY: What was the last chat you had with him?
PLAYER_HAPPY: We just had a little catchup by the pool not long ago.
FLO_FLIRTY: Sounds dreamy. That pool is becoming quite the hot spot.
FLO_HAPPY: I’m glad you’re still pursuing {0} though.
{0}
PLAYER_FLIRTY: I’m most into {0} right this second.
FLO_HAPPY: Aww, he’s literally your day one. That’s so sweet.
FLO_HAPPY: Awww, your first date in the hot tub was so iconic.
FLO_FLIRTY: When was the last chat you had with him?
PLAYER_FLIRTY: Just by the bean bags earlier.
PLAYER_HAPPY: I gave him a little grilling about that postcard pic.
FLO_HAPPY: Treat ‘em mean, keep ‘em keen.
PLAYER_HAPPY: But regardless, he’s still my number one in here.
PLAYER_HAPPY: I told him he had to earn my forgiveness after that postcard pic.
FLO_HAPPY: You’re unruly in here, I love it.
FLO_HAPPY: You gotta keep these guys on their toes.
FLO_HAPPY: The chemistry you two have is absolute chef’s kiss.
FLO_FLIRTY: The way he looks at you.
FLO_FLIRTY: I’m so happy you’re still pursuing him.
{0}
PLAYER_FLIRTY: I’m most into {0} this second.
FLO_HAPPY: Aww that’s so cute. You two had such an instant connection.
FLO_HAPPY: I didn’t know you were so open to pursuing girls.
PLAYER_FLIRTY: Of course.
FLO_IDLE: Well… Why don’t you and me go and have a proper chat?
FLO_HAPPY: Find out a little bit more about each other.
FLO_HAPPY: I’d have asked earlier but I wasn’t sure if you were only pursuing guys.
FLO_HAPPY: Let’s go somewhere cute.
PLAYER_HAPPY: The terrace?
FLO_FLIRTY: Perfect.
You and Flo head off to the Terrace together.
{0}_FLIRTY: Who’s still pursuing who?
You look up to see {0}.
PLAYER_SURPRISED: Were you listening in to our conversation?
{0}_FLIRTY: Every. Last. Word.
{0}_HAPPY: No, I just got here. Heard the word <i>pursue</i>, that was about it.
{0}_HAPPY: I was wondering if we could get a bit of alone time, {1}.
{0}_HAPPY: Maybe on the terrace.
PLAYER_HAPPY: Let’s go for it. See ya, Flo.
FLO_HAPPY: Have fun you two.
You and {0} get comfy on the terrace seating.
{0}_HAPPY: Sorry if I interrupted you and Flo.
PLAYER_HAPPY: That’s alright.
{0}_HAPPY: I knew you were chatting with her and I wanted to wait until you were done.
PLAYER_FLIRTY: But you couldn’t wait?
{0}_FLIRTY: Can you blame me? Just look at you.
{0}_FLIRTY: We need to make up for lost time together.
{0}_FLIRTY: I know we chatted not long ago in the pool.
{0}_FLIRTY: But, I can't get enough of you {1}.
PLAYER_HAPPY: Here I am, {0}.
{0}_FLIRTY: I wanna just stay here a while and make the most of being together.
{0}_FLIRTY: There’s always some drama or text cutting our time short.
{0}_HAPPY: Not this time. I’m not moving until we’re fully caught up.
PLAYER_HAPPY: You’re determined for some proper alone time?
{0}_HAPPY: It’s all I want right now.
{0}_HAPPY: We’ve had an intense journey so far.
{0}_EMBARRASSED: Some obstacles we’ve overcome, together.
{0}_HAPPY: Like Elliot stealing you.
{0}_HAPPY: And you getting fake dumped and sent to Casa Amor.
PLAYER_EMBARRASSED: That was something else.
{0}_HAPPY: Even just the fact your twin sister is here still boggles my mind.
{0}_HAPPY: But, despite everything.
{0}_HAPPY: Well, what I’m trying to say is.
{0}_HAPPY: I’ve had the best summer of my life with you so far.
{0}_EMBARRASSED: Some obstacles we’ve overcome, together.
{0}_HAPPY: {1} butting heads with me.
{0}_HAPPY: You getting fake dumped and sent to Casa Amor.
PLAYER_EMBARRASSED: That was something else.
{0}_HAPPY: Even just the fact your twin sister is here boggles my mind.
{0}_HAPPY: But, despite everything.
{0}_HAPPY: Well, what I’m trying to say is…
{0}_HAPPY: I’ve had the best summer of my life with you so far.
{0}_HAPPY: It’s only been a few days but I feel like I know you so well.
{0}_HAPPY: I’ve had nothing but fun and good times with you.
{0}_HAPPY: Plain sailing since the moment we coupled up.
PLAYER_HAPPY: We’ve not even been officially coupled for a full day yet.
{0}_HAPPY: I know, I know. Maybe I’m just getting carried away.
{0}_HAPPY: But honestly…
{0}_HAPPY: Well, what I’m trying to say is…
{0}_HAPPY: I’m having a great summer with you so far.
{0}_HAPPY: Are you enjoying your summer with me?
My summer with you has been great so far
PLAYER_HAPPY: I’m having the summer of my life with you.
PLAYER_HAPPY: The good times and the bad times are all part of the fun.
{0}_HAPPY: That’s great to hear.
PLAYER_HAPPY: We’re the day one heart-throbs.
{0}_HAPPY: Hopefully, we’ll be ‘official couple heart-throbs’ soon.
{0}_HAPPY: If you’d be interested in coupling with me a second time.
{0}_HAPPY: Partners in crime.
It’s been up and down
PLAYER_IDLE: It’s been an up and down journey so far.
PLAYER_HAPPY: Good times and not so good times.
{0}_EMBARRASSED: Feel like you’ve never truly caught a break in the waves.
{0}_HAPPY: But that’s changing from here on out.
{0}_HAPPY: The only direction you’re going is up.
{0}_HAPPY: You have my word.
PLAYER_HAPPY: You think it’s all golden from here?
{0}_HAPPY: I know so.
There’s room for improvement
PLAYER_SERIOUS: I’ll be real with you. We’ve left some room for improvement so far.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Not been perfect, that’s for sure.
{0}_SERIOUS: I see why you’d say that.
{0}_SERIOUS: But seriously, I feel we’re out of the woods.
{0}_HAPPY: With Casa Amor done and dusted, we can focus on each other.
{0}_EMBARRASSED: And if it doesn’t work out, then it doesn’t work out.
{0}_EMBARRASSED: At least we can say we tried.
{0}_SERIOUS: I’m super optimistic about the future.
PLAYER_IDLE: I can tell.
{0}_IDLE: I’m sensing some of the other couples are looking to take the next steps.
{0}_IDLE: {1} seems completely taken with Flo.
PLAYER_HAPPY: Yeah, I caught him in the middle of a workout earlier.
PLAYER_EMBARRASSED: He stopped talking to pose for her when she walked past.
{0}_HAPPY: Unbelievable! Maximum rizz mode activated.
{0}_HAPPY: She’s a bit more chilled I think.
{0}_FLIRTY: Do you think they have potential as a couple?
There’s potential for sure
PLAYER_HAPPY: Yeah, I see potential in them.
PLAYER_IDLE: There’s clearly some chemistry and if they both want to make it work.
PLAYER_IDLE: I don’t see why it couldn’t.
They’re faking their chemistry
PLAYER_SERIOUS: I can see through that a mile off.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: He’s overcompensating.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: He was talking about her like she’s ‘the one’.
PLAYER_IDLE: But I can’t see any genuine chemistry there.
He’s more into her
PLAYER_SERIOUS: It’s an interesting dynamic.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: And obviously early days.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: But from what I can see, he is way more into her than she is him.
PLAYER_EMBARRASSED: He mentions her name every three seconds.
PLAYER_EMBARRASSED: She barely talks about him.
She’s more into him
PLAYER_SERIOUS: It’s an interesting dynamic.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: And obviously early days.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: But from what I can see, she is more into him.
PLAYER_EMBARRASSED: When he mentions her name it feels forced.
PLAYER_EMBARRASSED: I think he’s over exaggerating how much he’s into her.
{0}_SURPRISED: Hot take.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Do you disagree?
{0}_SERIOUS: No, I was honestly gonna say something similar.
{0}_SERIOUS: But it is early days.
{0}_SERIOUS: The same can’t be said for Ozzy and Grace.
{0}_SERIOUS: I think it’s the end of the road for them.
PLAYER_SURPRISED: Do you think?
{0}_IDLE: Don’t you? I’m sure any day now they’ll call it quits.
{0}_IDLE: What’s the {1} hot take on them?
They’ll work through it
PLAYER_IDLE: I disagree. I honestly think they’ll work through it together.
PLAYER_IDLE: They’ve had a bumpy ride but they both want it to work.
{0}_SURPRISED: Interesting. I hope you’re right.
{0}_HAPPY: Not just because I like them both, but because last time they fell out.
{0}_HAPPY: It was a sleepless night for all of us.
It’s probably ending as we speak
PLAYER_SERIOUS: No, I agree.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: In fact, they’re probably ending it as we speak.
{0} looks out across the villa.
{0}_IDLE: Can’t hear any shouting. Maybe not just yet.
I can’t keep up with them
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Honestly, I can’t keep up with those two.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: I lost track of where they were days ago.
{0}_EMBARRASSED: We had no choice but to hear about it while you were in Casa Amor.
{0}_HAPPY: It was all Ozzy would talk about.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Who knows if they’ll work it out or not.
Ozzy being single sounds good to me
PLAYER_FLIRTY: Ozzy being single sounds good to me.
{0}_SURPRISED: Oh, does it?
{0}_EMBARRASSED: Good to know who my competition is, I suppose.
{0}_SERIOUS: So, do you reckon that any of the current couples have what it takes?
{0}_SERIOUS: Can any of them go all the way?
I think me and you can go all the way
PLAYER_FLIRTY: What a stupid question.
PLAYER_FLIRTY: Me and you are going all the way, of course.
{0} gives you a beaming smile.
{0}_HAPPY: Glad we’re sharing the same optimism.
PLAYER_HAPPY: We’re in this together.
PLAYER_HAPPY: Next step. Getting officially coupled. Again.
Amelia and Marshall look strong
PLAYER_SURPRISED: Honestly, Amelia and Marshall are looking like they can go far.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Maybe all the way to the final. Who knows?
{0}_HAPPY: Yeah, they’re smashing it.
{0}_IDLE: I think your sister took a while finding her feet in here.
{0}_IDLE: But she looks solid with Marshall.
Ozzy and Grace could go to the final
PLAYER_SURPRISED: Maybe Ozzy and Grace can go all the way.
{0}_SURPRISED: But you just said they’ll be ending things as we speak.
PLAYER_HAPPY: I know but they have that fiery, chaotic type of relationship that people like.
PLAYER_HAPPY: If they can figure things out, they’d easily make the final.
{0}_SURPRISED: Hmmm, I’m still not convinced.
{0}_IDLE: Hopefully, I’m proven wrong though. They’re both great.
{0} and Flo might make it
PLAYER_SERIOUS: {0} and Flo have a good shot of going all the way.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Maybe a place in the final for them.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: They’re clearly faking their chemistry, but I think they'll fool most people.
{0}_HAPPY: Not fooling you.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Never me.
It’s too early to say
PLAYER_SERIOUS: I think it’s too early to know who’ll be going all the way.
{0}_SERIOUS: Interesting. Maybe you’re right.
{0}_SERIOUS: I guess anything could happen.
None of the couples have what it takes
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Honestly, none of the couples are strong right now.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: And everyone is still finding their feet after Casa Amor.
{0}_SERIOUS: I’ll have to ask you again in a day or two and see if that’s changed.
{0}_HAPPY: Whatever happens, I’m excited about the next few days.
{0}_FLIRTY: There’s something on my mind actually.
PLAYER_IDLE: What is it?
He smiles at you with his piercing eyes.
{0}_FLIRTY: I was thinking about how, ever since you’ve come back from Casa Amor.
{0}_FLIRTY: I was thinking about how, ever since we’ve come back from Casa Amor.
{0}_FLIRTY: It’s been so hectic and we’ve been so busy.
PLAYER_FLIRTY: Yes…
{0}_FLIRTY: We’ve not actually had much time for romance.
PLAYER_FLIRTY: Oh, really?
PLAYER_FLIRTY: So what are you suggesting we do?
{0}_FLIRTY: Find some time to change that.
Get flirty with him
PLAYER_FLIRTY: Well, what are you doing now? Are you busy?
{0}_FLIRTY: I always have time for you.
PLAYER_FLIRTY: Maybe we can work something in.
You look at him with a cheeky smile, biting your lip ever so slightly.
PLAYER_FLIRTY: Something for just me and you.
{0}_FLIRTY: Such as?
Kiss him
You gently place your thumb on his chin and guide his lips towards your own.
As soon as your lips meet, you feel yourself melting into him. Completely and utterly lost in the magic of the kiss.
You run your hand through his hair and down the back of his neck, feeling the goosebumps on his skin as you do.
Slowly, you both pull away, smiling at each other as you do.
PLAYER_FLIRTY: Something like that, maybe.
{0}_HAPPY: You never disappoint, {1}.
The moment is interrupted when you hear raised voices coming from the lawn.
Peck him on the cheek
You seductively lean towards him, lips pouted, as he eagerly awaits a kiss.
At the last second you stop and give him a quick peck on the cheek instead. You smile at him.
PLAYER_FLIRTY: Something like that, maybe.
{0}_FLIRTY: I’m not complaining.
The moment is interrupted when you hear raised voices coming from down in the garden.
Play hard to get
PLAYER_FLIRTY: Do you think you’ve earned a kiss?
{0}_HAPPY: I think so. Maybe?
PLAYER_FLIRTY: You don’t seem very sure.
PLAYER_FLIRTY: I wouldn’t want to give you a kiss if you hadn’t earned it.
{0}_HAPPY: How do I earn it?
PLAYER_FLIRTY: If you’re asking that then you’re really in trouble.
PLAYER_FLIRTY: Keep pulling me for nice chats like this.
PLAYER_FLIRTY: And maybe you can work your way to a kiss.
{0}_HAPPY: Nice chats coming your way.
The moment is interrupted when you hear raised voices coming from down in the garden.
Not interested
PLAYER_SERIOUS: I’m not interested in turning it on right now.
{0}_SERIOUS: That’s absolutely fine.
{0}_HAPPY: I mean this when I say it.
{0}_HAPPY: I’m up here because I love spending time with you.
{0}_HAPPY: And I see potential.
{0}_HAPPY: But, I’d never want to rush into anything.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Appreciate it. I’m just enjoying the night as it is.
{0}_HAPPY: Me too.
Suddenly, you hear rowdy voices from the garden.
Get personal with him
PLAYER_HAPPY: I want to know more about you on a deeper level.
{0}_FLIRTY: Deep sounds great.
PLAYER_HAPPY: Personal deep. Like what your love languages are.
{0}_SURPRISED: My love language?
Lewie:
{0}_HAPPY: Well, I’ve never really thought about it but I guess quality time.
{0}_HAPPY: Just want to be with my person in a real way, you know? Making that time count.
PLAYER_HAPPY: Ah, so you wanna spend all your time with me?
{0}_FLIRTY: Something like that.
Ryan
{0}_HAPPY: I’ve known my love languages for years.
{0}_FLIRTY: Defo words of affirmation.
{0}_HAPPY: I like when my partner tells me what makes me special.
{0}_HAPPY: I guess that's the performer in me.
PLAYER_FLIRTY: So you want me to tell you all the things I like about you?
{0}_FLIRTY: Something like that.
Jamal
{0}_FLIRTY: Oh, I know mine. Did a quiz last year.
{0}_HAPPY: Physical touch and words of affirmation.
PLAYER_FLIRTY: Ah, so you want me to tell you what makes you special <i>and</i> cuddles?
{0}_FLIRTY: For sure. I wouldn’t say no to that.
Roberto
{0}_FLIRTY: Physical touch is mine.
{0}_FLIRTY: I love that closeness with my person.
{0}_HAPPY: Holding hands, giving a massage. That’s how I show my affection.
PLAYER_HAPPY: So you’d like it if we held hands a little more?
{0}_HAPPY: Something like that.
Elliot
{0}_FLIRTY: I’ve realised it’s receiving gifts.
PLAYER_HAPPY: Really?
{0}_HAPPY: Yeah. I just love little things, you know? Nothing expensive.
{0}_HAPPY: I like the idea of someone thinking of me.
Andy
{0}_FLIRTY: I think mine is acts of service.
{0}_HAPPY: Having my person thinking of me and helping me out just does it for me.
PLAYER_HAPPY: Maybe because your job is pretty full on?
{0}_HAPPY: Probably! Coming home from a long shift and those little things being done.
{0}_FLIRTY: Makes me feel special. Love doing that for someone too.
Francis
{0}_FLIRTY: I think I thrive off all of them. They’re all important.
{0}_HAPPY: But quality time is the main one.
{0}_HAPPY: Even just a ten minute meditation together is great.
PLAYER_HAPPY: Just ten minutes.
{0}_FLIRTY: I’d prefer longer.
Suddenly, you hear rowdy voices from the garden.
PLAYER_SURPRISED: What’s going on down there?
{0}_SERIOUS: We can never catch a break, can we?
{0}_SERIOUS: Let’s go see what’s up.
As you and Flo get comfy on the terrace seating, she looks at you with a cheeky grin.
FLO_HAPPY: I don’t know if {0} told you…
FLO_HAPPY: But I have a little bit of a crush on you.
PLAYER_HAPPY: He mentioned you looked excited when you saw me in person.
FLO_FLIRTY: I won’t deny it. You’re a stunner.
FLO_FLIRTY: What did you think when you first saw me?
I hope she’s into girls
PLAYER_FLIRTY: I was literally crossing my fingers that you were into girls.
PLAYER_FLIRTY: You looked like a bit of me.
FLO_FLIRTY: Your prayers were answered.
FLO_FLIRTY: As were mine.
FLO_HAPPY: I tend to feel drawn to girls with your personality type.
PLAYER_HAPPY: Good to know.
I was too busy with the recoupling to notice you
PLAYER_SERIOUS: I’ll be real, I was way too busy with the recoupling to notice.
Flo flicks her hair behind her shoulder dramatically.
FLO_SERIOUS: I can’t believe you weren’t floored by my stunning looks.
She keeps a straight face before letting out a giggle.
FLO_HAPPY: Awkward joke, sorry.
FLO_HAPPY: It’s understandable. There was a lot going on.
FLO_HAPPY: But now we’re alone and looking into each other's eyes.
FLO_FLIRTY: I hope I can get your full attention.
Here’s the girl that stole my sister’s man
PLAYER_SERIOUS: I thought, here’s the girl that stole my sister’s man.
FLO_EMBARRASSED: Guilty.
FLO_HAPPY: But everything seems to have worked out well for us both.
FLO_HAPPY: Amelia and Marshall look good.
FLO_HAPPY: Me and {0} look toasty.
FLO_HAPPY: I guess the moral of the story is...
She looks at you with big flirty eyes.
FLO_FLIRTY: Go after the things you want.
FLO_HAPPY: I think I remember what you said your type was.
FLO_FLIRTY: Wild and spontaneous, right?
PLAYER_HAPPY: That’s what I said, yeah.
FLO_HAPPY: I think I can be pretty spontaneous.
PLAYER_HAPPY: How about wild?
FLO_FLIRTY: That goes without saying.
FLO_FLIRTY: Romantic and soulful, right?
PLAYER_HAPPY: That’s what I said, yeah.
FLO_HAPPY: I think I can be pretty romantic.
PLAYER_FLIRTY: How about soulful?
FLO_HAPPY: I’ve got a soul-full of love.
FLO_HAPPY: Just waiting for the right person to share it with.
FLO_FLIRTY: Boy next door, right?
PLAYER_HAPPY: That’s what I said, yeah.
FLO_FLIRTY: Well, I’m better than that already. I’m the girl next door!
PLAYER_IDLE: That’s my type on paper, what about yours?
FLO_SERIOUS: Might have eluded to it at some point earlier.
FLO_HAPPY: My last three relationships.
FLO_HAPPY: In fact, I’m not even gonna count that last guy.
FLO_HAPPY: My last two relationships have been surfers who happened to live at home.
FLO_HAPPY: A guy and a girl. Not at the same time though, obviously.
PLAYER_HAPPY: Surfers who live at home. That’s a very specific type.
FLO_HAPPY: That’s not really my type.
FLO_HAPPY: Guess I just wandered into that subgenre accidentally.
FLO_HAPPY: For better or worse.
FLO_HAPPY: I think my type on paper is more...
She smiles at you, her eyes electric and excited.
FLO_FLIRTY: I guess someone who makes me feel like there’s not enough hours in the day.
FLO_HAPPY: Someone who makes me want to stay awake an extra hour at night.
FLO_HAPPY: Even if I have work in the morning.
FLO_FLIRTY: The best sort of bad influence.
FLO_IDLE: If that makes sense.
PLAYER_HAPPY: I get it.
FLO_HAPPY: If they make me feel like that, I’ll let them be a surfer who lives at home.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: And have you found that with anyone previously?
FLO_SERIOUS: I think I might have when I was a bit younger.
FLO_SERIOUS: I met this girl and I honestly think we could have worked out.
FLO_SERIOUS: If we’d have met when we were five years older.
FLO_HAPPY: But we were 18 and not ready to be tied down.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: I see. Regret it much?
FLO_SERIOUS: No regrets in love. I wouldn’t be here with you if it had worked out with them.
PLAYER_HAPPY: Everything happens for a reason?
FLO_HAPPY: Exactly.
FLO_HAPPY: I try to be honest and open with everyone I meet.
FLO_HAPPY: And whatever happens, happens.
FLO_HAPPY: I’ll prove it. Ask me any question and I’ll answer honestly.
What’s your most embarrassing moment?
PLAYER_HAPPY: Alright. What’s your most embarrassing moment ever?
Flo bites her lip as she has a think.
FLO_HAPPY: Oh gosh, there’s a super cringe one.
FLO_SERIOUS: When I first moved out I lived with another Australian girl.
FLO_HAPPY: We were both living without our parents for the first time.
FLO_HAPPY: So you can imagine we were really living it up. Going on dates every night.
FLO_HAPPY: Partying and just having a great time.
FLO_HAPPY: One day I brought this really sweet guy back. Think it was our third date.
FLO_EMBARRASSED: And my flatmate got him confused with another guy I’d been seeing.
FLO_EMBARRASSED: Started calling him the wrong name and making out like they’d met a week ago.
FLO_HAPPY: Which they hadn’t. So I immediately sent her a text.
FLO_HAPPY: This isn’t the guy you think it is, it’s a new one
FLO_EMBARRASSED: And yeah. I accidentally sent that text to him.
PLAYER_HAPPY: That’s hilarious. How did he react?
FLO_HAPPY: He was really sweet about it but I just felt awful.
FLO_HAPPY: I can assure you, I don’t date in bulk anymore. Quality, not quantity.
FLO_SERIOUS: If I’m being truly honest with you though.
FLO_SERIOUS: There’s something else I want you to know.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
PLAYER_SERIOUS: What’s your biggest guilty pleasure?
Flo bites her lip as she has a think.
FLO_EMBARRASSED: This is really weird. Please don’t judge.
FLO_HAPPY: I basically <i>love</i> instant mash potato.
FLO_HAPPY: Like, instant mash is literally my vice.
PLAYER_HAPPY: That’s so random.
FLO_HAPPY: When I was babysitting my nephew I found some in my brother’s cupboard.
FLO_HAPPY: And I’ve never looked back since.
FLO_HAPPY: I think I fell in love with the taste and texture.
FLO_FLIRTY: And how quick it is to make.
PLAYER_HAPPY: Thanks for coming clean.
FLO_SERIOUS: If I’m being truly honest with you.
FLO_SERIOUS: There’s something else I want you to know.
What is your sexiest memory?
PLAYER_FLIRTY: What’s your sexiest memory?
Flo bites her lip as she has a think.
FLO_FLIRTY: Urgh, I still get tingles when I think about this one time.
FLO_FLIRTY: It was low key but steamy.
FLO_FLIRTY: This girl I was seeing had a hammock in her back garden.
FLO_FLIRTY: It was a really lazy Sunday. We’d stayed in bed. Had breakfast.
FLO_FLIRTY: I just felt super comfortable with her.
FLO_FLIRTY: We ended up lying in her hammock together reading in the sun.
FLO_FLIRTY: And one thing led to another.
FLO_FLIRTY: It was just perfect. Felt like a movie.
PLAYER_FLIRTY: That sounds lovely.
FLO_FLIRTY: I was hoping there’d be a hammock in the villa but no luck.
FLO_FLIRTY: The daybeds are as close as I can get.
PLAYER_HAPPY: Sounds like a really sexy memory.
FLO_SERIOUS: If I’m being truly honest with you.
FLO_SERIOUS: There’s something else I want you to know.
Will you and {0} last?
PLAYER_SERIOUS: If you’re being truly honest...
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Will you and {0} go the full distance?
Flo squints her eyes as she thinks.
FLO_HAPPY: Good question.
FLO_HAPPY: I don’t know. Maybe.
PLAYER_SURPRISED: You don’t sound too sure.
FLO_FLIRTY: There might be a few {0}-shaped obstacles in the way for me.
PLAYER_SURPRISED: What do you mean?
FLO_FLIRTY: Well… can I be completely honest with you?
PLAYER_SURPRISED: Sure you can.
Who in the villa do you fancy the most?
PLAYER_FLIRTY: Who in the villa do you fancy the most?
FLO_FLIRTY: You.
PLAYER_SURPRISED: Woah! Straight to it.
FLO_EMBARRASSED: Yeah, maybe that was a bit too fast. Ask me again.
PLAYER_HAPPY: Who in the villa do you fancy the most?
FLO_HAPPY: Hmmmm, brilliant question.
Flo pretends to think about it for a few moments.
FLO_FLIRTY: I’d have to say it’s probably... you.
PLAYER_SURPRISED: Is {0} a close second?
FLO_FLIRTY: Can I be completely honest with you for a moment.
PLAYER_IDLE: Of course you can.
FLO_EMBARRASSED: I really like {0}. He’s gorgeous. Friendly.
FLO_SERIOUS: Has that bit of ‘keep me up all night’ energy that I like.
FLO_EMBARRASSED: But I don’t know if it’s because he’s shy or intimidated.
FLO_SERIOUS: But ever since you girls came back to the main villa, our chats have been… meh.
FLO_EMBARRASSED: I feel bad because it looks like I used him to stay in the villa.
FLO_SERIOUS: But honestly, it’s like he’s poured a bucket of cold water over his rizz.
FLO_SERIOUS: He didn’t spoon me last night.
FLO_SERIOUS: Spent all his time in the gym today and yesterday.
FLO_SERIOUS: And hasn’t pulled me for a chat once.
FLO_SERIOUS: I’m not the kind of girl to tell my man he’s doing the basics wrong.
FLO_SERIOUS: If he’s not doing the basics right, he’s no man for me.
FLO_SERIOUS: I just can’t see us being more than friends right now.
PLAYER_SURPRISED: Wow.
FLO_SERIOUS: What about you and {0}?
FLO_IDLE: I know you’re pretty close. Where’s your head at with her?
We’re in a good place
PLAYER_FLIRTY: I think me and {0} are in a really positive place.
PLAYER_FLIRTY: Whenever we chat it’s always great and she’s a good friend too.
FLO_HAPPY: That’s lovely.
FLO_HAPPY: Suppose it helps that she's a stunner, just like you.
FLO_EMBARRASSED: I would never try and stand in the way of what you two have.
FLO_SERIOUS: I hope you can see I’m honest and always have my girls’ backs.
FLO_IDLE: But with {0} falling short.
She doesn’t put in enough effort either
PLAYER_SERIOUS: I’m not in a brilliant place with {0} if I’m being honest.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Without divulging too many details.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: I just don’t think she puts in nearly enough effort.
FLO_EMBARRASSED: This isn’t me trying to scooch in and ruffle feathers.
FLO_SERIOUS: I hope you can see I’m honest and always have my girls’ backs.
FLO_IDLE: But with {0} falling short and you and {1} slowing.
I think <i>you’re</i> turning my head
PLAYER_FLIRTY: I think my head is turning.
FLO_FLIRTY: And where’s it turning to?
PLAYER_FLIRTY: The sexy lifeguard who only dates surfers who live at home.
Flo lets out a flirty giggle, unable to hide her smile.
FLO_HAPPY: That’s really sweet.
FLO_FLIRTY: Well, you’re turning my head too, obvs.
FLO_HAPPY: I can maybe be your wild and spontaneous gal.
FLO_HAPPY: I can maybe be your romantic and soulful gal.
FLO_HAPPY: I can maybe be your girl next door.
FLO_FLIRTY: I’d be interested in hanging out more and getting to know you better.
FLO_FLIRTY: If that’s something you’d be up for?
I’m interested in getting to know you
PLAYER_FLIRTY: I’d be fully interested in getting to know you more.
PLAYER_FLIRTY: See if we have potential together.
PLAYER_HAPPY: Romantically, or just as friends.
FLO_FLIRTY: Hopefully I’ll be seeing a lot more of you soon, then.
PLAYER_FLIRTY: I’m looking forward to it.
I’m not interested
PLAYER_SERIOUS: I’m not interested in getting to know you better.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: There’s so much going on in the villa right now.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: And I don’t know if I see much potential between us.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Especially, because me and {0} are in such a good place.
FLO_IDLE: That’s fine. No pressure.
FLO_IDLE: Just had to ask you.
Suddenly, you hear raised voices coming from down in the garden.
PLAYER_SURPRISED: What’s going on down there?
FLO_SERIOUS: It sounds heated. Let’s go check it out.
You walk out onto the lawn to find Grace yelling at Ozzy.
GRACE_ANGRY: You had a three-way kiss in the pool…
OZZY_SERIOUS: Grace, I…
GRACE_ANGRY: Let me finish, Oz.
GRACE_ANGRY: You had a three-way kiss in the pool, and you <i>didn’t</i> tell me?
GRACE_SERIOUS: Because, if that’s what you’ve done.
Ozzy looks down at the ground.
GRACE_SERIOUS: Look at me. If that’s what you’ve done. Bye, bye Ozzy.
OZZY_SERIOUS: So I can’t kiss anyone during Casa Amor, but you can?
OZZY_ANGRY: You and that Hamish guy were getting pretty friendly, apparently.
OZZY_SERIOUS: One rule for you, another for me?
GRACE_SERIOUS: That’s completely unfair.
The rest of the Islanders quickly gather around Ozzy and Grace.
MARSHALL_SERIOUS: You had a three-way kiss, Ozzy?
MARSHALL_SERIOUS: Well played, buddy, great to see you being so loyal.
GRACE_ANGRY: This doesn’t involve you, Marshall.
{0}_SERIOUS: Yeah, no need to get involved in this, Marshall.
MARSHALL_SERIOUS: I tried warning you about him, Grace.
MARSHALL_HAPPY: Leave him for a couple days and he'll have a three-way kiss.
MARSHALL_HAPPY: You don’t wanna know what happens when you leave him for a week.
GRACE_ANGRY: Marshall, would you wind your neck in?
AMELIA_SERIOUS: Grace! Don’t speak to Marshall like that.
GRACE_SERIOUS: Why are you getting involved, Amelia?
GRACE_SERIOUS: This is between me and Ozzy.
GRACE_SERIOUS: Your big mouthed man is trying to butt in and you’re backing him over me?
AMELIA_ANGRY: I’m getting involved because you’re telling him to wind his neck in.
GRACE_ANGRY: No, you’re getting involved because you like drama.
{0}_SERIOUS: Let’s leave them to it, Amelia.
{0}_SERIOUS: Yeah, this is between Ozzy and Grace.
AMELIA_ANGRY: Can everyone please stop telling me what to do?!
FLO_SERIOUS: Come on, guys. Let’s chill.
Amelia looks to Marshall for support, but he just shrugs.
MARSHALL_IDLE: I don’t care about this.
Marshall heads off towards the kitchen, leaving a red faced Amelia on her own.
AMELIA_SERIOUS: You’re not gonna back me up then, Marshall?
GRACE_SERIOUS: You got yourself a real keeper there, Amelia!
AMELIA_SERIOUS: That’s enough from you, Grace!
Break it up
PLAYER_SERIOUS: That’s enough guys, let’s break it up.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Before we go on in circles all night.
Amelia gives Grace a final glare before turning to you.
Stay out of the drama
GRACE_SERIOUS: Great. So why are you still here?
GRACE_SERIOUS: This conversation does not involve you.
AMELIA_IDLE: You’re the one shouting for everyone to hear.
GRACE_SERIOUS: Five people in a row have just told you not to get involved.
GRACE_ANGRY: And yet here you are.
GRACE_SERIOUS: Should I write it down for you instead? Just leave me.
AMELIA_SERIOUS: I’m going, I’m going.
Amelia gives Grace a final glare before turning to you.
AMELIA_SAD: Can you believe Marshall didn’t back me up?
AMELIA_EMBARRASSED: Shook.
AMELIA_EMBARRASSED: I only got involved because he did.
Suddenly, you hear a phone ping.
OZZY_SURPRISED: I’ve got a text.
Ozzy reads it out.
LITEXT: Islanders, get out the popcorn and recline your seats. It’s time to find out what you’ve all been getting up to in Movie Night. {0}TruthTime {1}SilverScreenGoldenDrama
The Islanders look around at each other apprehensively.
FLO_EMBARRASSED: That’s not good is it?
{0}_EMBARRASSED: Movie night means one thing. Drama.
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: Just what we needed more of.
{0}_EMBARRASSED: This is gonna be interesting.
NARRATOR: That’s right, movie night is finally upon us. And something tells me there’s gonna be a lot of salt in the popcorn this year.
NARRATOR: I wonder which dirty secrets, private chats and flirty antics will be revealed?
NARRATOR: I’m glad my private chats aren’t filmed and shown in front of all my mates.
NARRATOR: All my private chats are with myself and all my friends are me.
NARRATOR: Wouldn’t be much of a night.
NARRATOR: Find out what drama is uncovered next time.

I know the show won't finish until july but before I forget here are my overall impressions
it's not a genre I particularly enjoy and the visual dullness of watching middle aged lawyers in business suits argue really started to wear on me. were it not for the fact that I knew these characters beforehand I wouldn't have watched it. I need some PANACHE
I found many of the plots quite boring and the agonizingly slow progression of many of the scenes were unbearable. things I had zero interest in from brba (like where the lab came from) got far more attention than I wanted. yeah I know I'm a shallow consumer with a poor attention span but I like to watch tv for fun and it wasn;t doing it for me
that being said, it's a well written and compelling narrative that stands independent from brba. the original characters that didn't appear in brba such as lalo and kim were very strong and worth watching the show for. and the ocassional thrill of exciting lawyer scenes really are pretty fun and novel for me
some of the manipulations in s6 actually reminded me of death note moves
I think there were too many montages set to dramatic classical music and I got sick of them. I also thought, like brba, there were too many weird angles and bits that went on for way too long. like that ant scene? didn't love it
I've seen a lot of people say that they find saul a tragic and much more complex character compared to his silly guy persona in brba, which I do agree with, but I don't like him enough to really be invested. he has strong good points and I do like watching him in action but he's too much of a scumbag consistently for me to actually like him. also I found him very whiny and immature 😭 plus his ambition and individualized american-dream esque idea of suceess just put a bad taste in my mouth. I KNOW the show was criticizing it I know but I have very little patience for those characters given how often I see it unironically in real life
and it's such a pet peeve of mine when people infantalize or woobify (white) adult men like him who freely make bad choices so I can't relate to people genuinely feeling heartbroken for him....like he wasn't a great person, he did some good things, but he made terrible choices with full understandong of what could happen out of greed and for fun. like. he's getting what's coming to him
kim I like a lot and I've enjoyed her descent into scamming and con artistry. she and jimmy have a unique relationship that I've never seen the likes of before and I look forward to seeing where their stories end up. I've loved seeing her strike out on her own and act with such strong self-assurance and agency
since gustavo is acting against characters I actually like, the depths of his callousness and cruelty are really coming to light. this is a little upsetting since I really liked gus in brba...I thought he was funny and I like seeing him thwart ww. but the way he used nacho...man
I loved nacho as a character and I think his arc was well-written but I don't think I could watch this show again knowing what happens to him. this was a real tragedy! I really liked him! and it was frustrating for me watching jimmy run around whining about respect and ambition and money and his inferiority complex and his brother when a much more sympathetic character with fewer choices was being harassed and tortured and threatened for almost the whole show. like saul is this dumb immature greedy little man too short-sighted to see that his involvement with the cartel WILL kill people. again sorry for having boring taste (not sorry)
in a similar vein, the writing for mike's backstory was a refreshing surprise but the way the other characters in his little arc were written was such a disappointment. I know there's too many characters to give everyone's satellites depth - papa vargas didn't have much - but stacy and kaylee literally exist as plot devices and it came off so generic and predictable and 'oh strong masculine man solving problems' I just got sick of it in s1 and it never progressed. mike had some great scenes in bcs, especially early on, but his willing involvement with gus makes him look worse too
on the bright side, it's really fun to see characters like huell and francesca get their start with saul, and flashes of what's to come, like the vet's little black book that saul presumably buys, and explanations for things like hector being in a wheelchair
special shoutout to lalo salamanca, who's played brilliantly and with so much charm and energy. I thought the salamancas were so typecasted and dehumanized in brba and it's good to see more nuanced depcitions of characters of color, for one, and of a salamanca specifically. lalo is a cold-blooded killer, but he's always in control, charming and friendly, and clearly loved the people who shared his home, as well as his uncle. when in Mexico he treats his neighbors well. he's a worthy villain and a real person, not a boogeyman
I mean he's also literally so sexy and I'm obsessed with him winking all the time and the white streak in his hair and his entire presence and body language is electrifying and he has a raw charisma BUT that's not relevent! I'm interested in where he lands too because saul thinks he's alive in brba and...if he is, why didn't he ever show when the shit went down? so I think he's probably dead and saul doesn't know
uhh the stuff with howard sucks but I didn't really like him so I'm not losing sleep over it
I know the Themes were super deep and meaningful but I don't really care about the messages
also I didn't like chuck but it was still horrifying what they did to him like damn
lastly - and this is petty - I did not like seeing odenkirk's bare ass. I didn't

Do you think some of the gang of t70s had character growth or stayed the same/regressed during the later seasons (like 6+)? I at least believe Kelso did have some growth at the end of the show
I believe that some of the characters grew on season 6, some of them stayed the same (Fez), and some of them regressed (Donna).
About Donna and Fez: I'm not going to talk a lot about how the writers fucked their characters up because that would be a really long answer. From what I can tell, the writers stopped caring about their growth on season 5. Donna completely forgot why she and Eric broke up, she literally became the person she said she didn't want to be by accepting Eric's marriage proposal. Fez became a creep on s5 and I don't know how the gang managed to stay friends with him.
If Donna regressed on s5, then she just went downhill on s6. I still can't believe that she gave up her education to stay with Eric, I'm pretty sure they could've handled the whole distance thing, Madison's not that far away and Eric has a car. I get that they couldn't just write Donna off the show, but I'm pretty sure the writers could've figured something out if they tried hard enough. In my opinion, there was a point where Donna was barely a character of her own, she was Eric's girlfriend and that's it.
And Fez was the same pervert he was on s5, nothing changed.
About character development (on season 6)... Kelso was clearly the one that grew the most, I think the storyline with Brooke was brilliant and I'll never forgive the writers for breaking these two apart.
Kelso's growth (for me), starts when he finally realizes that Jackie and Hyde actually love and care about each other, and he "lets her go". Season 5 Kelso was an asshole to both Jackie and Hyde, he did absolutely everything he could to break them up, so I think that making Kelso bring Jackie and Hyde back together on season 6 was pretty cool.
When he impregnates Brooke, he panics and tries to run away from the responsibility, but he comes to his senses eventually and tries to do the right thing. When Brooke tells him she doesn't want him to be a part of their child's life, he's genuinely heartbroken, and that's what motivates him to change and be a better person.
It's the first time we actually see Kelso pursuing someone for un-selfish reasons. He's determined to change and he tries his best to prove to Brooke that he can and will be a good father. He gets a job at the hotel, he enters the police academy, and he falls in love with Brooke.
That's a controversial opinion, by the way. There are some people who think that Kelso wasn't in love with Brooke, but I genuinely think he was. She was the only girl he's been with that he didn't constantly pester to "do it" with him, he prioritized her and the baby over his own interests and he showed little to no interest in other girls when they were together. They were really cute together and had lots of potential.
Jackie and Hyde grew a lot together on season 6, their relationship was great and they seemed happy together. The only problem they had (I'm not counting the first two episodes) was Jackie's brief marriage obsession, but that was solved on s6ep18 "Do You Think It's Alright".
Most of Jackie's character development happened on s5. She had just started dating Hyde (someone who actually cared about her and taught her useful things), and her father was sent to jail. She had to fend for herself and that is not an easy thing for a teenager to go through, and it changed her.
Her character on s6 grew too, just not as much as it did on s5. She and Hyde were in a stable (and almost domestic) relationship, I really like how the writers began to make parallels between them and Kitty and Red. Honestly, Jackie and Kitty could've been such a powerful duo, I wish they had more screen time together.
Season 6 Hyde's behavior was consistent to his behavior on s5 (except for a few episodes), he helped the Forman's out money-wise after Red had his heart attack, he and Jackie were in a really nice place, he had just graduated from high school and he had a steady job. The only thing I would change about Hyde in s6 is his behavior towards Pam. Hyde was abandoned by his mother too, and I find it really hard to believe that instead of being pissed at Pam, he ogled over her. Real Hyde would've prioritized Jackie over Kelso going to the police academy, he would've been there for her, and I think he would have probably yelled at Pam at some point.
But overall, Hyde's character grew too.
Eric made a huge sacrifice by postponing college to work and help his family. I mean, HUGE. Eric and Donna always dreamt of leaving Point Place, and I can assure you that it wasn't easy for Eric to postpone that dream for a while.
Eric's growth might not have been as big as Kelso's, or Hyde and Jackie's, but it's still growth.
Now, season 7... I don't hate season 7, there are many episodes of season 7 that I like and the jokes are most of the time hillarious, but the writers really messed up character-wise.
All the characters, I mean ALL of them, regressed on s7.
All that character development Kelso had on season 6 was thrown in the garbage. Sure, he was still determined to be a good father, but at some point he became a man-whore again, and pairing him up with Angie had to be one of the most stupid things the writers did on s7.
Hyde suddenly became afraid of commitment (which doesn't really make sense to me) and began to slowly pull away from Jackie, who became insecure about their relationship and started to demand things from him again.
Jackie's marriage obsession ended in season 6, and I have no idea why the writers brought it back on season 7. I'm sure they could've created conflict between Jackie and Hyde in a better way.
Jackie was always a materialistic girl, but being with Hyde changed her and taught her that there are more important things in life than money and presents. Apparently, the Jackie from s7 forgot all about that.
About the other characters...
Fez continued to be the perv from the earlier seasons.
Eric became a lazy person with absolutely no aspirations in life.
Some of Donna's attitudes were... questionable, to say the least. I'll never get over how she trash-talked Red's muffler shop on the radio, and how she got that girl fired from the radio station. She also seemed to forget all about her life aspirations and goals, that's why I think she was so pissed when Eric told her that he was going to Africa.
And I am not going to talk about season 8 because it managed to ruin every single character in every possible way and it makes me sad to talk about it.
So, yeah, some characters grew and some characters regressed on season 6, but everyone regressed on season 7. It's honestly pretty sad, but we have fanfiction for a reason!

The Blacklist 8x04 Thoughts
i’m gonna begin with the NEGATIVES first because i like to end things on a high note:
- having to watch Liz reach a new low (shocking, i know) by manipulating and using Ressler, tarnishing a genuine friendship/partnership/sibling-ship through sex
- having to watch the most awkward sex scene in the world... what makes it awkward, you ask? well, the use of body doubles was way too obvious + liz’s dead eyes (lmaoooooo the bitch was ice cold) i mean cmon, i know the lights were off but at least try and be more convincing, girl
- liz impersonating a cartoon villain + liz trying to steal red’s associates literally made me laugh... ah what a joke :’) + i still genuinely don’t understand why liz is THIS fired up on getting “revenge” and killing red... like yes she has a right to be upset for red killing her bio mom in front of her but like... she knew kat for all of two seconds and liz has somehow forgotten all about kat using her and putting her daughter at risk and also conveniently forgetting about all the times RED WAS THERE FOR HER AND PROTECTED HER AND SAVED HER AND LOVED HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i really can’t get over this “character development”... like at least give us a believable explanation for this stupid stupid stupid arc????
- tptb dumbing red down to allow liz to outsmart him... ughhhhhh cmon guys:
1. it’s MARVIN FFS! MARVIN!!!!
2. even if marvin was a traitor, no way red would hand power over to Skip or Chip or whatever the fuck his name is JUST LIKE THAT ugh
3. red (the one we know and love) would NEVER fall for the dumb ass ruse - airline tickets to switzerland with marvin’s real name on it lmaoooooo my god even liz admitted how lame that scheme was
3. cringed when liz got all giddy on the jet... taunting red on the phone as if she’s some mastermind.... bitch please
*now, finally, for the POSITIVES*:
- i actually love the fact that liz and ress slept together bc
1. she was using sex to manipulate ressler
2. her dead eyes say more than anything i could
3. lol it’s like when samar and ress slept together... did anything come out of that? nope, nothing except Saram... aka ressler is just a tool the girl must use to find her way to her actual soulmate/endgame
3. tbh i see this as tptb killing keenler. i have literally zero worries about keenler being endgame. even aram thinks it’s a terrible idea lol “tell me it wasn’t at your apartment”
4. also park calling ress out for wanting to protect liz + park calling ress hot last ep = me thinking park has more of an actual chance with ress than liz does... which is fine by me
- *UNICORN* SOCKS!!!!!! (agnes saying they’re good luck + ress asking liz if she thinks unicorn socks will protect her from red) y’all remember the unicorn references in that one ep back in s6 (seriously can’t remember which ep it was but i think it was in s6) where i think brimley (possibly?) had some sort of UNICORN speech and at the end of the ep (possibly?) red and liz sit on a bench and watch agnes riding the carousel on not just a regular horse but a UNICORN??? ALSO THE SOCKS WERE R E D!!! coincidence?? I THINK NOT
- liz taking her and tom’s engagement ring + thinking fondly of tom + talking to agnes about tom aka her agnes’ “father” = BAIT!!!! tom is dead (DEAD, dead) and not going to return except through flashbacks. I swear to god, tptb are using all this tom reminiscing to set up for some sort of revelation later on (a revelation regarding red and liz ofc... #agnesgate)
- liz looking gorg tho
- red looking gorg too
- shoutout to red’s associates who are loyal AF + liz talking to marvin in the restaurant as if she’s some italian gangster lmao... “you write your ticket... 50/50... i could make you riDICulOUsly RicH” lol also liz telling him red’s not loyal lol says the girl who betrayed literally everyone in her life lollllll please bitch go to your room)
- is it just me or is agnes getting blonder (yes i know it’s a diff child actress, but tptb chose this actress for a reason... #agnesgate)
- red’s very... interesting facial expressions (annoyed? mad? upset? JEALOUS?) when aram and ressler barged into cooper’s office to say liz called + red goading/pissing on Donald bc he fucking knows they slept together lmaoooo loved when red did his squinty face + his tone/face when he says “i believe you do... that’s what worries me” when ress said he believes liz was telling the truth about marvin turning +++ i also think red was more hardcore with marvin bc he was coming right from cooper’s office aka after his little butt-in with ressler aka after he found out liz and ress slept together AND HE’S PISSED (even marvin says “you’re so puffed up with anger, you don’t see it”
- this whole Sick Red arc being pushed in front of our faces and screamed into our ears (red repeatedly talking about his numbered days, repeatedly referencing his will (and leaving everything to liz), showing us red coughing blood + his many pills) just reinforces my belief that Red WILL NOT DIE... this is just bait + set up for next arc or endgame aka red and liz and agnes eventually living happily ever after
- Dembe telling red and us what we all already know aka RED LOVES LIZ!!!! + red admitting he “didn’t have a plan” in a heartbroken voice/face bc he’s a fool in love
- as much as i hate liz antagonizing red, i do like that this evens their playing field a bit, making liz more... worthy? capable? of being a partner to red
- love how murderous red’s face was when he warned the russian dude he better fucking NOT hurt liz keen
* SIDE THOUGHTS * :
- i hope marvin stays loyal to red even after all the goat torture... you’re the GOAT, marvin
- i wish we could’ve seen red’s reaction to liz escaping with agnes (bc he must know that puts agnes *cough-hisdaughter-cough* in even more danger)
- i can’t wait to watch red kill Skip lol
- im sorta ignoring the whole red being N13 thing bc i give zero fucks to who red was (and the entire mythology of the show at this point)... i care about WHO HE IS... and that is a man who just LOVES ELIZABETH KEEN... literally nothing else matters to me
- i know pretty much everyone HATED this ep, but overall, i actually enjoyed it
*** END OF TBL 8x04 THOUGHTS***
this took me forever and a half to write + is not edited (clearly) so please ignore any spelling/grammar/disorganization/whatever

look what you made me do || 1/?
aka: me making taylor swift songs about dean winchester and/or deancas bc it’s what dean himself would want
(i will be keeping track of these with a masterpost, just in case i need to find them again or someone enjoys seeing me go hogwild on lyric analysis, lol. also, there’s a wee treat at the end of the post!)
and without further ado, our first tswift x dean song is...
the archer
combat, i'm ready for combat i say i don't want that, but what if i do?
we start off with an extremely obvious line: dean winchester is always ready for combat - he’s been trained all his life to essentially be a soldier/vigilante figure, an ultimate warrior of sorts. the thing is... he doesn’t want to. when dean is left to his own devices, without his father to order him around or a Big Bad to spur him on, what he chooses to do is is cook for his loved ones, have movie nights with them, play music, tinker with parts to build something new. at his core dean is kind, and full of care for others, and his deepest fear is that he truly IS nothing more than just a killer or a weapon - hence the ‘but what if i do’.
'cause cruelty wins in the movies  i've got a hundred thrown out speeches i almost said to you
‘the movies’ here is just shorthand for everything he’s witnessed happening around him in real life. as far as dean’s experience goes, cruelty does win. why believe in softness and kindness when your father has taught you that either of those things is a weakness, and the world simply doesn’t care?
as for the second line, well. you can guess what THAT’s about. dean feels so deeply, but really struggles to verbalise his feelings, often brushing them off until he explodes. we usually see him at his most vulnerable while praying to cas, but even then, you get the sense that he’s holding back on so much. (“cas, i need to say something--” “you don’t need to say it, dean.” so it goes, so it goes.)
easy they come, easy they go i jump from the train, i ride off alone  i never grew up, it's getting so old help me hold onto you
a few points here: “i jump from the train” could easily be a callback to dean’s impulsive self-sacrificing ways, and “i never grew up” underlines how he never got the chance to evolve and grow into himself because he got essentially stuck in the “child parenting another child” role. sure, he had to be a mother and a father to sam, so in some ways he grew up really fast; in others, he was stuck as an insecure teenager, because he never got the opportunity for healthy emotional growth himself.
and of course, “easy they come, easy they go” is a tragically accurate representation of dean’s most devastating insecurity: that everyone he loves eventually leaves him. mary died, john was constantly absent, cassie broke up with him when he tried to tell her the truth, sam left him behind for college, and then, of course, there’s cas... who just. keeps. leaving, one way or another, and dean just desperately wants him to stay - which also ties into “help me hold on to you”. the irony of it all, of course, is that dean wants castiel to choose not to leave, whereas castiel desperately wants to be asked to stay; and ain’t that just a fucking tragedy.
i've been the archer, i've been the prey who could ever leave me, darling? (but who could stay?)
the first line is pretty self-explanatory: dean has been both aggressor and victim, both literally and emotionally. he’s a fearsome hunter who gets hunted down by monsters in turn; and he’s lashed out and pushed people away, while getting his heart broken in return too.
but it’s the second part that really strikes me as a dean line, because the first half - “who could ever leave me, darling?” - is the bravado that dean wears like a mask. charming smile, a flirty wink, swagger in like you own the place, “i think i’m adorable”, “i’m a joy to be around”, etc. but the second part... that’s the whisper of truth behind it. for all that dean can turn the charm on and put on a brave face, he’s thoroughly convinced that he’s not worth sticking around for.
dark side, i search for your dark side but what if I'm alright, right, right, right here?
so, can you say trust issues? remember how long it took for dean to believe an angel could be on his side, and then how deeply he came to trust cas? and remember how heartbroken he was when castiel betrayed them in s6, and how that heartbreak was covered up with anger when cas came back? yet, no matter how many twists and turns they go through, inevitably, dean ends up trusting cas with his life - he’s not only the definition of a ride-or-die, but he also trusts him in smaller, more intimate ways, such as letting down his guard and allowing himself to be vulnerable only around him, or praying to him for comfort as much as guidance.
and i cut off my nose just to spite my face  then hate my reflection for years and years
...but because of those trust issues, and because of dean’s deeply entrenched abandonment issues as mentioned above, often dean ends up reacting to things more harshly than is needed, by lashing out in anger and pushing people away (or, in more than one occasion, through the infamous silent treatment). but we also know he immediately regrets it, because it ends up hurting him just as much, if not more. basically this correlates to his speech from 15x09 about his anger issues.
i wake in the night, i pace like a ghost the room is on fire, invisible smoke and all of my heroes died all alone help me hold onto you
there’s also the fact that having attachments as a hunter isn’t exactly safe, and comes with a shitton of fear of losing people - or remorse and regret when you do lose them. “the room is on fire, invisible smoke” - i can only imagine dean would still have nightmares of that fateful night when he was 4 years old and his mother burned alive on a ceiling (and so: “i wake in the night, i pace like a ghost). as for his heroes dying alone... mary. john. ellen. jo. ash. kevin. charlie. the list stretches way too long. it’s only natural he’d be afraid of losing cas too... especially since he’s already died multiple times, and dean has mourned him more and more devastatingly each time.
i've been the archer, i've been the prey screaming “who could ever leave me, darling”-- but who could stay?
the same concept as the previous chorus, except that here the façade of confidence and swagger comes off almost as desperate (screaming “who could ever leave me”). but then we know overcompensating is kinda dean’s thing.
'cause they see right through me, they see right through me they see right through me -- can you see right through me? they see right through me, they see right through me  i see right through me, i see right through me
and we circle back to dean’s constant fear of being found worthless, damaged, and unlovable. no matter how much bravado he puts on, his actual self-worth is close to non-existent, so of course he’d feel like a fraud, and it makes sense he’d fear other people seeing through his act, or wonder if they do - can cas see right through him? because dean himself certainly isn’t buying his own lies.
all the king's horses, all the king's men couldn't put me together again 'cause all of my enemies started out friends help me hold onto you
the first line just... hurts me a lot. i guess it’s the nursery rhyme sound of it, almost trying to take the bite of a statement which is, essentially: i’m broken beyond repair. as i said above, dean’s not buying his own lies, he knows exactly how much baggage and trauma he carries. and not to go back to the trust issues again, but it is hard to believe someone could see past that when there’s so much betrayal in your history (which, yes, has included cas at one point too, as well as sam, or, say, fucking chuck).
i've been the archer, i've been the prey who could ever leave me, darling? (but who could stay?) who could stay? who could stay? you could stay, you could stay...
and then... we have the third repeat of the chorus, which echoes the first, softer version of it, but with a fundamental difference. this time, the rhetorical question “who could stay?” finds a pointed answer in “you could stay”. because yes, maybe cas leaves a lot, but he always, always comes back. so i’d imagine dean harbours hope that one day, maybe, cas will want to actually... stay for good.
combat, i'm ready for combat
and that hope kinda gives this final line a whole new lovely layer of meaning: dean’s no longer ready for combat just because he’s been trained for combat all his life; rather, he’s ready for combat because for once in his life, he has something to look forward to; something to fight for: the happy ending he deserves, where someone - perhaps someone in a dirty trenchcoat and tired blue eyes - will finally stay.
---
BONUS: literally the day after i started obsessing over this song as a dean song, i found a fanvid of it! if that’s not serendipitous, i don’t know what is <3

Ships Meme
Talk about the first ship you ever had. That was Chandler/Monica  when I was 14 and in high school. I don’t even know how it began. I was  watching Friends reruns and saw them get together and boom! Obsessed.  It’s funny because I never went for Ross/Rachel but C/M were a good, easy ship to start out with.
Talk about three of the most important ships throughout your life.
What’s your current OTP? Right now it’s Josh/Donna since finishing The West Wing for my first time in October and currently slowly rewatching.
What’s your current NOTP? None.
Do you have any poly ships? No.
How do you feel about love triangles? I hate them! I much prefer a lot  of other keep them apart tropes.
How do you feel about RPF? I’ve never been into it.
Have you ever shipped yourself with a character? Yes, I think with the male part of every ship. hahaha.
Do you have many ships that never got together at all? No,  I don’t think so. I tend to ship pretty mainstream.
Do you ship any characters that have never met? No.
Talk about your favorite first kiss. Luke and Lorelai: amazing, amazing, amazing. It still makes my stomach flip every time I watch it. ALSO Nick/Jess. Amazing. Josh/Donna’s first kiss is also amazing. The whole vibe with the music.  (I know this said favorite but those are my top 3 I guess.)
Have you ever been disappointed when your ship finally got together? Yes, Booth/Brennan let me down a bit. It was kind of a bummer how we saw no lead up to it. I liked that they had a kid (well, 2) and got married but once they got together they weren’t as great anymore.
Has a ship ever broken your heart? LUKE/LORELAI. I mean, they made up for it in the end but late s6/s7 was painful in real time and I was legit heartbroken. Also Sam/Diane because they never ended up together.
How do you feel about will they/won’t they? Many of my ships ARE this, so I guess I like it. Although it has to be  “will they” in the end AND I  don’t like it if it’s until the VERY end.
Have you ever “shipped at first sight”? Don’t think so.
Talk about a ship you initially disliked. None.
Talk about a pairing you’ve stopped shipping romantically. None, I don’t give up shipping much once I start.
Talk about a moment which made you question an entire ship. Lorelai sleeping with Christopher a the end of season 6.
Have you ever shipped something despite yourself? No.
Talk about a ship you feel alone in shipping. None, I’m a mainstreeam shipper.
Is there a ship you just don’t get, but have nothing against? I have nothing against Ross/Rachel  but I never shipped them hardcore which seems strange that I didn’t.
Which of your ships have the best chemistry? Luke/Lorelai and Josh/Donna are pretty consistent through the whole series. Nick/Jess are strong in s2 and so are Booth/Brennan in s2.
Which of your ships deserve better writing? Nick/Jess (mostly Nick). His character got so strange after they got together.
Do you mostly ship canon pairings? Yes.
Have you ever shipped a pairing before you even started watching the show/movie simply because of gifs and graphics or similar? I was kind of like this with Booth/Brennan I think. Josh/Donna too. I knew   they were a big deal and would end up shipping them before I watched.
Have you noticed a pattern in your shipping? Is there a romantic dynamic you’re more drawn to? Friends first.
Is there a ship you’ve shipped for most of your life? Chandler and Monica I started shipping in 1999. 22 years. Of course it comes and goes but whenever I get in a Friends binge I fall right back into them.
Does shipping come easily to you? Not really. I ship very few ships compared to all the TV I watch and there’s a lot of couples out there I’m cool with (I like Jim/Pam for example) but I don’t consider them my SHIP.
Do you need to ship something to really enjoy a movie/book/tv show/comic? Yes and no. I can enjoy a lot of shows without shipping obsessively (The Office, How I Met Your Mother, tons of shows I watch). But when I ship that’s when it spills over into OBSESSION.
Name a couple of fandoms in which you have no ships. HIMYM (I liked Barney/Robin but never felt I was a shipper), Modern Family, Grey’s Anatomy.
Talk about one of your favorite headcanons for a ship you love. I feel like Josh/Donna have a lot of  headcanons that are fandom recognized (the trip was to Hawaii. They move in together right after).
Do you have a favorite trope and/or AU for your OTP? I never really get into AU.
Do you like and use ship names? The only time it’s something other than their initials I think was Luke/Lorelai (JavaJunkies).
Is there a fictional relationship you’d really want for yourself? I’d go for the ones with less breakups and drama (Chandler/Monica, Josh/Donna aren’t too bad).
If you could change one thing about your OTP, what would that be? I understand Gilmore Girls wanting Lorelai to go through the whole Christopher relationship to prove it wasn’t right for her, but I’d change how it was done.
Which ships have made it to marriage? Chandler/Monica, Booth/Brennan, Nick/Jess, Luke/Lorelai (haha I can say that now!).
Which ships have children on screen? Chandler/Monica, Booth/Brennan, (Nick/Jess do in the flashforward?).
Ship that took the longest to get together? Josh/Donna
Ships that never broke up? Chandler/Monica, Booth/Brennan, Josh/Donna (simply because they got together at the very end haha).

This is my interpretation of the whole AYITL Logan/Rory story line
When she turned down his proposal in S7 it wasn't because she didn't love him or even because she didn't want to marry him... because she liked the idea of marrying him, even in S6. She just wasn't ready to get married yet, at 22, right out of college. She even told him she still loved him and asked if they could stay together. Logan's pride was hurt and he broke it off. However he still deeply loved Rory. I don't think they ever got over each other. They were each the love of their lives. (I still think the ultimatum was wildly random, considering only a couple episodes before he was telling her he wanted her to choose her career based on what she wants, not based on him.... and then suddenly he is making her choose either moving with him or nothing at all.) So several years later, (is it ever mentioned how long they have been having this fling?) when they meet up again in Hamburg, all those old feelings couldn't be ignored and the spark was reignited and they end up sleeping together. Rory is probably with Paul at this time, and Logan is perhaps already engaged to Odette. We know Rory does not love Paul. She barely remembers he exists. The engagement between Odette and Logan doesn't seem to be about love either. He was probably feeling pressure to settle down and start a family because it is a family business and they need some new little Huntzberger babies. Odette comes from a good family, it's a beneficial match. And I think he probably likes Odette, but doesn't really love her. It’s more about pleasing his family, and he’s willing to sacrifice a chance at love because no one has really compared to Rory. I don't think Odette loves Logan either because if she did she wouldn't live in another country. She’s rich enough, I can’t see how there would be an obligation keeping her in Paris. If she wanted to live with Logan she would be. Also it is hinted that they are not as romantic together either because when Rory calls him in the middle of the night and Odette is in bed with him Logan is fully clothed in a shirt and pants. When he's in bed with Rory he is usually in some state of undress. Suggesting that he has a more intimate relationship with Rory. It doesn't make the cheating right but I think it was a way of justifying it in their minds. I believe after Rory and Logan have that initial fling Rory feels compelled to come up with a "What happens in Vegas" scheme. I am almost positive it is her who comes up with it. She likes reconnecting with him and doesn’t want it to stop so she concocts this scheme to make it seem like it is just a casual thing.  Very reminiscent of her "No strings" agreement when they first started dating. The thing is, I'm pretty sure if she had made it clear that she wanted something serious he would have left Odette in a heart beat. You can feel his adoration for her in every one of their scenes. But Rory is trying to play it cool and keeps reminding him of their agreement. She’s trying to reassure him but I think it makes it seem like she is less invested. The whole “when we are not in Vegas, we forget about Vegas” thing is a load of garbage by the way because they break that rule several times. She calls him all the time for moral support and a shoulder to lean on and she even had boxes of her belongings sent to his home! He is so in love with her that he is willing to go along with the Vegas agreement if it means he can have her in his life, even just a little bit. He doesn't want to lose her but is scared to try suggesting something more serious too because she turned him down before. And perhaps he feels like it's just his heart that he's risking. Then after their phone call where they "can’t even break up because they are nothing" they are both so heartbroken. It's clear that they are more invested in this relationship than they are supposed to be. When she asks him if he is really going to marry Odette and he says "That's the dynastic plan" it feels like he was waiting for her to tell him not to. (Matt Czuchry actually says that's what he was going for.) You can tell she wants to say more but she doesn't feel she has the right to ask him to leave Odette when Rory refused his first proposal in the first place. It's all very heart breaking and depressing. He wants her. She wants him. But they are both afraid to say anything. Again I am not trying to make excuses for their cheating, but I can empathize with why they have put themselves in such a position. In a small way I am happy with the way they ended the revival because Logan is the father of Rory’s baby and in my head I can imagine that Rory eventually tells him. I think she has to tell him because even though Christopher said he thinks things worked out for the best (I mean, he couldn’t say he resented Lorelai for not letting him be more involved), there is no way he would agree that it would have been better if he never got to be a part of Rory’s life. Plus Luke would be upset at Rory for keeping a child a secret from the father. He went through that himself. If Rory does tell Logan there is no way Mr. I’ll-Do-Anything-For-Rory-Gilmore would not drop everything to be there for Rory and the baby. It would give him an excuse to leave Odette and be with Rory, like he already wanted to. I pray they never make another installment of Gilmore Girls after this because at least now I can imagine they get their happy ending. I don't want ASP messing things up even more.

Jamie Johnson 5x07 Review
Tonight was a historic ep which saw Dillon Simmonds come out as gay and marks a major step forward for Jamie Johnson and the CBBC. For those of you who are trying to fill the Love Victor shaped hole in your hearts, Jamie Johnson is well worth watching and still has 6 eps left this season with a 6th season already confirmed. Let’s dig in!
After 43 eps of amazing character growth, Dillon Simmonds leads Phoenix to victory as they take the Cup and afterwards scores a personal triumph as he gathers the courage to come out as gay to Elliot. It’s hard to understate what a bold move this is for the show, to have a main character who’s been there right from the pilot, who was hated by the audience and is now a fan favourite, to now have him come out as gay. For a show that is targeted towards young boys this is an especially important move as it tears down stereotypes about gay people and it confronts the audience with the question of whether they’ll stop watching Dillon’s story now just because he’s gay. And kudos for the writers for not saving this for the final season, with at least one more season left they’ll have no choice but to develop this story line further
The reception on social media seems mostly positive and the CBBC to its credit has been promoting Dillon coming out with gay abandon. There are quite a few heartbroken Duby shippers but they really should have jumped ship after Ruby point blank said that she was over Dillon in 5x01. To be fair, I do get why Dillon being gay would come as a surprise; there really were no hints that Dillon was gay until S4; I don’t it’s a coincidence that S4 sees Dillon’s mom replaced with his homophobic dad and little brother. Which in all likelihood is because the writers never planned for Dillon to be gay until then. And S4 does end with Ruby still clearly crushing on Dillon and Sienna suggesting to her that Dillon likes her back which is then promptly dropped in S5. Most likely the writers didn’t have permission when writing S4 to go the route they’ve gone now and were planning to use Ruby to be the catalyst in Dillon’s coming out story by asking him out or something
Luckily we get to see this much more interesting story line. I have to blindly hope that the promo for next week is misleading and that Elliot isn’t going to out Dillon to Ruby. Fwiw someone commented on the CBBC insta post about Dillon coming out and said that they really hope Elliot wouldn’t out Dillon because that would go against the message the CBBC and the show is pushing about respecting people’s coming out journeys and the CBBC liked the comment. And even if Ruby found out Dillon was gay it’s not like she’d go and tell his dad that Dillon was hanging out with Elliot
I’m agnostic on the future of Delliot. I can’t ignore the built in escape hatch the show has with Elliot just being in town until his mom recovers; it’s not like a kid getting to go back home with his mom isn’t a happy ending. On the other hand it does seem somewhat pointless to have given Elliot a fleshed out personality and hobbies and to have given him and Dillon a connection if Elliot is just supposed to be Dillon’s gay Sherpa. The show has also really not done much in the way of ships but then again they had no problem having Dillon briefly date Indira and also be somewhat romantically linked to Sienna. As it looks like Dillon will end up at Foxborough it seems likely that S6 will delve into homophobia in sports and unless Dillon gets publicly outed there would have to be something that spurs him coming out; it’s not like his dad would spread that news around. Dillon wanting to date Elliot and not wanting to keep that part of his life a secret would be a good reason for him to come out. In conclusion, the future of Delliot is a land of contrasts
Jamie was really living up to Dillon’s old description of him as a sullen kid with a rubbish haircut. I’d say that he was treating Boggy like a dog but I don’t think Jamie would yell at a dog like that #justiceforboggy. Idk Jamie I think your deadbeat dad might be the one to blame for the accident. He really needs a wake up call and hopefully Boggy’s anxiety story line will see Jamie realizing what a great mate Boggy has been and will see him trying to make amends
Zoe made strides in being a better teammate with Kat but the longer she puts off returning the pendant the more it’s gonna blow up in her face when she does
Liam cheering for Foxborough over Phoenix was ruthless but very funny
It really is fascinating how little Jamie we saw this ep and how he’s not even shown in the promo for next week. There must be some difference in how tv contracts are structured in Britain compared to America because this would never happen on an American show. It’s great though and allows Jamie Johnson to be a true ensemble show, which will help greatly in S6 and hopefully beyond as the older kids will no longer all be playing on the same team
I’m not shocked that the show introduced a straight ship to balance out the gay story line but I am shocked that it was with Eric of all people. I’m not sure what the long term plan with it is but we’ll see what happens
Looking Ahead:
Mr. Simmonds telling Liam that he has the perfect role model in Dillon is pretty funny considering what we as the audience know about Dillon and about his father. Of course, Dillon and his journey to being a better person really is the perfect role model for Liam on his own redemption arc. It seems like Liam tells his dad that Dillon was hanging with Elliot instead of training but I’m not sure if Liam overhears their conversation and outs Dillon to their dad or if the dad somehow figures it out some other way or if Dillon comes out for whatever reason or if their dad doesn’t find out yet. It’s almost impossible to imagine him being supportive when he does find out and I wonder what that arc towards acceptance looks like for Mr. Simmonds
It’s going to be great to see two gay kids discussing their sexualities, it’s something that has still yet to happen on Disney since Love Victor was moved to Hulu. After next week all of Dillon’s scenes from the S5 trailer will have been shown with the exception of some clips of him playing a soccer game in a blue uniform at night against a team in red. You’d think the red team would be Foxborough but so I wonder who the blue team is (could be a dream sequence)
Looks like Liam also ends up with Eric for a bit. I’m sure that Liam will play an important role in Dillon’s coming out story and likely ends up defending Dillon to their dad but who knows how it all plays out, we’re in uncharted waters now
Until next week Jamie Johnsoners

Adventure Time Reviewed - Season 1 Episode 6 to Episode 8
From The Jiggler to Business Time
S1E06 The Jiggler
This one is about the cautions of adopting cute little forest animals. I wonder why Finn and Jake are covered in so many bite marks? Why was that kingdom on fire? What was going on? How much trouble can one watermelon get into? Anyway this is the first episode to feature Finn’s autotune voice. I can’t remember the last episode he said something in autotune - there was the s6 finale, then a few scenes in season 7.
When they take the Jiggler back home, they Get Creative and escalate until they destroy their entire house interior. I think Princessss made an AMV Nightosphere gag about this.  I love how chiptune noises play every time the Jiggler moves on day 1.
I always loved this episode. I thought it was very disturbing when the Jiggler gets sick, and then explodes. It reminds me of failed attempts to save birds or insects after my cats have gotten to them. I can relate so much to Finn and Jake here. Poor Jake having to keep himself together and look after his traumatized little bro.  I love the OST of this ep. The soundtrack was uploaded to soundcloud once, along with Ricardio the Heart Guy. I love how artistic this ep is with the edible drawings and the painting of the jiggler’s mom. Very bright and colourful. I always found the momma jiggler’s cry to be... weirdly genuine.
S1E07 Ricardio the Heart Guy
This ep starts with Finn saving PB from Ice King, who humorously kisses Jake’s butt. PB gives Finn a kiss on the.... neck? hat? as thanks, and Finn’s crush truly begins. Oooooh boy.  I always wondered in hindsight why Pb let the ice king roam free to begin with. That question is raised later in this season. Ice King kidnaps dozens of princesses daily and roams free, but Princess Cookie starts 1 hostage situation and is locked up forever. In the ep What Have You Done, it’s reasoned IK can only be punished for recent crimes, but... ehh, there are a few reasons. Pity? Old ties? Maybe she doesnt want to lock up a pathetic old man forever.  There are some really funny statues of Finn and Jake in the castle, they look buff. I wonder who made these? PB commissioning them makes a lot of sense. Hey, it’s Peppermint Butler’s first speaking lines!!!  “This style of massage is called Best Friend Massage. Because it can only be done for friends. It is completely consensual.” Well the first line from Ricardio the Rapist Stand-in is already incredibly sus. What’s even more sus is he’s apparently friends with LSP.  I find it interesting that Ricardio is so intelligent. This must have been one of the motivators behind making Simon really smart. Ricardio is his heart, at the end of the day. Oh, Simon at the end of the show still has maracas in place of a heart. I wonder if that has health complications?
“I hear you appreciate ancient technology.” This is foreshadowing of MULTIPLE things now. One - Ice King being pre-war. Two - PB building everything out of pre-war technology. Three - The fact there was a war to begin with!!!!
Jake is trying to help Finn deal with his new emotions of jealousy (burning low war flashbacks) and he’s once again trying to make him happy, Jake never once considered the logistics of whether Finn and PB would ever actually go out, because it was far more important to him that Finn grow up and have the courage to listen to his heart. Jake encourages Finn’s crush to a fault, and provides lots of support to him when he’s heartbroken later on.
I love how PB and Ricardio were talking about dangerous micro-organisms and poor Finn has no idea how to approach the topic. I love how Zanoits are actualy dangerous and Ricardio uses them as a poison later.  Anyway even PB can tell Finn is jealous. Finn is of the idea that she has no idea of his crush on her. Of course she knows. But from her side it’s exactly the same as Baby-snaps wanting to be a princess, or every other candy person doting on her - she thinks it’s adorable and completely fails to take the other person seriously. At least, until Braco comes along. Then you realise it’s a good thing she didn’t take Finn seriously, because she might have done something ridiculous like make him a robot clone of herself.
Holy shit, the duck from The Vault!  I just made a post about it.
Tumblr media
Anyway this ep provides a challenge to Finn or a test of his character, ironically through his own test of Ricardio’s character! Finn gets obsessed with proving Ricardio evil to the point that he gets easily baited into punching him, and doesn’t care that the Ice King is basically dying. Poor Ice King. At least Jake is here to approach the situation with a level head.
I was wondering as of late, with all the post-Obsidian sexuality discourse (in no way ignited by that one towel scene), whether PB was interested in Ricardio during this ep. It’s possible, and in the past, I thought “maybe”? But upon rewatch? No. She is only interested for as long as she can have scientific discussions with him, and as soon as his knowledge becomes lacking she has already used him for all hes worth. SAVAGE. But not as savage as him trying to rip out her heart. Ew, creep!!!
I should say that Ice King wanted to cast a spell that would force PB to fall in love with him. He’s NOT safe, he’s dangerous. He’s especially a danger to PB. He does kill her twice at the end of season 2, after all. Once again I don’t know why she hasn’t locked him up LOL. Anyway, even if he did cast a love spell, she wouldn’t change any of her decisisons. It’d just make her sad, like it did at the end of The Suitor.  There was that one time PB tried to make a love potion but we don’t talk about that.  Ice King does demonstrate some concern for Bubblegum’s welfare when he reveals Ricardio’s plan to literally murder her. Ricardio’s plan here is pretty slapstick violent, and it’s funny watching Finn beat him up, but when he returns in season 4, it’s far more... personal and insidious. As in, here he could be seen as a jokey stand-in for a predator creep, but in that later episode he 100%  sexually threatens her and forces her into a non consensual relationship, making it very satisfying when PB beats the shit out of him instead.
Tumblr media
Holy fuck I forgot about this joke. Golden.
S1E08 Business Time
For some reason, I don’t feel like there’s a lot to say about this ep. It doesn’t demonstrate any remarkable characteristics of Finn and Jake themselves. Instead, it seems to be more of an inside joke.
When they find the business men, Finn and Jake at first feel like the business men are helping them work more effectively with their assists. However, the boys end up just being lazy, and not realizing that their workers are messing everything up. You can sympathise for the business men because they’re just doing what they were told to do.  This all seems to be metaphorical for when Pen and Patrick McHale started work on the show, and they got tons of help from Cartoon Network staff. They wanted to do everything by themselves, but ended up having to delegate. Maybe they feel lazy for it?
What makes this episode EXTRA SPECIAL, however, is its confirmation of the Great Mushroom War.  By the time the season had released, the first shot of the intro was already Mushroom War bombs. There was also a reference to the war in the previous episode, where PB and Ricardio shared an interest in “ancient technology”. However, the only reason those references exist is because of THIS episode - This is the one they were working on when they decided it should be post-apocalyptic. They made the human zombies, and the icebergs filled with human junk, and then every GMW reference we see in the show is down to this decision.
I enjoy the physicality of this ep. Finn and Jake crash through the entire gauntlet. Finn’s still wearing his fire resistant glove as he does it. They get covered in bruises, because they... like pain? I liked when you could see Finn’s sword legit being shinier, and his shoes having bouncing noises. And I want to be hydrated! I loved how smushy Jake was when he became an ice cream monster.  I love the colours of the Fluffy People. S1 has this unique art style compared to the rest of the series. They often draw white outlines to white things, it works nice here.

alright i’m barely even coherent enough to type down my thoughts after 5 hours of sleep and an episode of hyperventilating and sobbing but let’s fucking do this
let’s start with this: this is the canon ending we have. you can choose to love it, hate it or be neutral. just respect other’s opinions on it and don’t harass anyone. and please know that the team behind voltron worked hours, weeks, months, to years on this show.
now let’s get down to business to defeat the huns
i’m sure lance, allura and allurance stans can agree they both deserved better. now allurance may not have been my ideal endgame (if you can call it that), but it was still cute. i saw it coming, we all kinda did. lance has grown and matured enough as a person, and allura saw that at least. so i am pleased with what we got with them. the date, the kiss, the cuddling and lance’s genuine care and worry for allura really made me like what they had while it lasted.
also rip to any other shippers out there, especially to the plance and sheith shippers out there, as a plance and sheith shipper myself i mourn with you. but remember, not everything has to be canon in order for you to love it.
now i think we should really get to business.
allura deserved so much better. she was someone who had thing taken from her: her family, her planet, her entire race, her crown and finally her own life. and she accepted that. which is unfair beyond belief, she deserves to be happy with the rest of the paladins. but after bingeing the past seasons, there were many times where allura would attempt to do things for the greater good, even if it cost her life. it felt obvious in the end. does that mean i agree with it? no. does that mean i didn’t bawl at 8am? absolutely not. i may be brain dead at the moment, but i can’t think of another way to restore every reality imaginable, to let other characters live. in the end she was able to bring life back to destroyed planets, at the cost of her own.
each goodbye she said to the paladins ripped my heart out, what hurts me most that she couldn’t say one to coran, her second father. the man who helped raised her didn’t even get to say goodbye.
now my theory about lance becoming altean(?) is that it was obviously a gift to him, to remember her bye. does that mean he has altean powers now? idk. we don’t get an explanation other than his marking glow when the voltron lions fly off. i’ve seen someone say it could be a soulmate mark and it glows when allura’s presence is near?? i like that idea
also what was with the lions?? why did they fly off? did they pick up some energy and that’s why they were flying towards the shape of allura in space? or were they flying away because they were no longer needed to protect the universe?? or it was used as a dramatic effect to send off the series. i really hope to get some answers
ok but it all honestly, for voltron to have a m/m kiss is pretty big. i’m happy shiro found true happiness, but i’m obviously disappointed it wasn’t keith, aka, his best friend, the man who was literally the closest person to him. i mean curtis is okay, he cute i guess. but he’s literally some random dude that shiro knew only for a year, and we didn’t see that development besides curtis cheering him on at the arm wrestling competition and then boom! wedding. keith knew him for years, and you can’t just forget about their relationship like that.
i’m pleased to know for sure lotor was severely misguided, and his true intention was to help people. but the years of abuse finally made him snap, and he suffered. he looked happy to see his mother, and his real father on the other side. also let’s mention that lotor’s corpse was still inside the sincline and it was decomposing YIKES. AND MY THEORY ABOUT THE CORRUPTED QUINTESSENCE IN HIS VEINS WAS RIGHT I CAN BE HAPPY ABOUT THAT AT LEAST!
alright now for some stuff that hasn’t really been talked about
let me gush about pidge and the holts in general because it’s mandatory. pidge was willing to give up a super rare video game to dress allura up, and to make lance happy. SHE WAS HEARTBROKEN BY THE DESTRUCTION OF OLKARION, SHE APPRECIATED WHAT RYNER TAUGHT HER SO MUCH!!! SHE COULD SE THROUGH TIME YO!! pidge moved on from her glasses.. giving them to her robot chip to show that her character arc is finally done, how much she’s grown. god THAT SHIT HURTED. colleen and pidge are literally me and my own mother and i love them. matt with a pony tail is amazing, and short hair matt ain’t half bad yo. sam holt still continues to be a legend
HUNK GOT THE BEST OF THIS SEASON LET’S BE REAL. HE WAS AN ICON THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE THING
og paladins?? zarkon realizing what he did?? holy shit
there was like... nothing of keith and shiro. so rip sheith again
kosmo got REALLY FUCKING BIG
and once again, allura deserved all the happiness in the world
(12/15) EDIT
i got some more stuff
again, allura deserved better and didn’t even need to die. yeah, with her gaining access to oriande and saying “i need to learn the secrets of life. i give my own.” was a hint to her death. even if we got the open ambiguous ending with shiro and keith, allura would’ve died anyway. i feel that was inevitable with all the build up with her attempted sacrifices before. but what doesn’t make sense about it and why it wasn’t needed, is that honerva also gained access to oriande, she would’ve learned just as much as allura. so allura dying with honerva is unnecessary. honerva could’ve just died alone to bring back every reality without allura. it could’ve been avoidable, so yeah it’s unfair.
also i fully believe lance ain’t altean, the marks are just a reminder of allura. it’s practically a scar for him to remember her, and they glow when her presence is around. i feel he won’t be able to fully move on from that, and it’s just cruel to have him emotionally suffer like that. tbh i also don’t think it’s wrong for lance to be a farmer, he already knew how to milk a cow so? i guess some of his family were involved with a farm in the first place idk.
the very final image with allura space i think is the reference to the cosmic dust, and how they are all connected in a way. still don’t know why the lions left their paladins on altea just to fly into space but go off i guess
pidge gave up her own happiness for allurance’s, pidge really out there supporting allurance. also i will always believe pidge had a crush on lance and swallowed it down in order to make someone else happy and that’s that. rip plance but it’s still in my heart
also bi veronica and lesbian acxa own my soul thanks
ryan kinkade?? a true director, everyone loves him.
i hope hunay may have gotten together post canon so i have that but rip team punk but i always saw them more as a brotp
like sheith was literally forgotten about... all of what they meant to each other just disappeared and it was bs. i could go on but i don’t wanna get more upset.
in conclusion: sheith and allurance deserved better, allura deserved better in general, so did lance, basically everyone deserved better in this season. many writers left after s6 because they didn’t agree with what dreamworks wanted to do with the show and that’s why it’s so messy. the staff had their hands tied. thanks for coming to my ted talk.
so. wow that’s it huh? that’s the last premiere of voltron i can rant about. well, it’s been one hell of a ride, folks.

ahhh okay so I knew this was coming & it was painful but im just thinking if Cersei had looked at Jamie and said like..you know we came into this world together/we will now leave or something quietly strong with him in their last moments. the crying & please dont let me or our baby die felt needlessly cruel and maybe even out of her character ("I should have been the man" reaching for the lion when they were children etc) do you have a different take? i might just have jumbled emotions rn.
i don't think it was out of character for Cersei, she always loved her children and she wanted her child to live, and also she also herself wanted to "stay amongst the living", she told it to Jaime back in s7 so yeah, i think it was in character. and needlessly cruel? yeah maybe? i have seen people saying it humanizes Cersei but she's human uhuh. as for "we came into this world together", it would have been good too but "only us" is pretty awesome imo, reminded me the s6 premiere with Jaime saying "We're the only ones who matter, the only ones in this world." and don't worry, i feel that... i'm so heartbroken rn 😭

Hello, Haddock! Now that Voltron (sadly) ended, how would you rank the seasons? Also, could you tell how many times you've rewatched them?
Hey there, friend! WAY happy to chat Voltron and all its seasons!
Unlike most fandom culture, I’m not a chronic rewatcher, and the default assumption is that I’ve only seen any show once. It’s rare for me to see shows more than once, honestly, even ones I love. I certainly will be watching VLD more times, but because of my normal watching habits, I’ve seen a large portion of the show only once. I’ve seen S1 probably about 5 times, S2 thrice, S3-4 twice, and S5+ once. I’ve seen “The Last Stand” from S7 twice.
These are rankings based somewhat upon my emotional attachments and not simply objective elements like narrative structure! XD I already know my preferences are going to be different than lots of people in the VLD fandom, haha. These rankings are also based on memory, which is pretty strong admittedly for VLD, but it leaves room to change with a rewatch.
EIGHTH PLACE: VLD Season 8
Tumblr media
Let’s be clear: I don’t dislike Season 8 and there’s much I enjoy. Give it up for S8 love!!! Standout episodes to me include “Launch Date,” “The Prisoner’s Dilemma,” and “Day Forty-Seven.” The women going shopping together and Pidge dressing as 1980s Darrell Stoker made my life. Not to mention… it was fun spending time with the MFEs; they didn’t take a disproportionate amount of time, but gave us good moments to make us love them. I’m thankful for the S8 ending giving us both a sense of wrap-up for the plot conflicts, but also looking forward to what our Paladins will do to rejuvenate the galaxy. There’s much I’m thankful for with S8.
That said, S8 isn’t my jam as much as other seasons. I’m not much of a shipper and I wasn’t into the Allurance, nor did I get pulled into the magic-heavy plot conflict with Haggar and her Alteans. And while S7 does give great screen time to Allura, it felt a little less like an ensemble cast and more like a spotlight on her. Enemies’ minds changed too fast for me to feel realistic, and the magic-wonky plot didn’t feel as gripping and intense as S7. It’s the reason I’m placing S8 here: from my own preferences, I attached with other seasons more.
SEVENTH PLACE: VLD Season 5
Tumblr media
For whatever reason, S5 didn’t make as much of an impression on me as other seasons. I wasn’t as invested in concepts like “Kral Zera” and “White Lion.” Given as S5 is an odd numbered season in the middle portion of Voltron, it has an innate disadvantage: it’s written in all but name as the first half of a season, which means story arc ending payoffs wouldn’t happen until S6. I also feel like S5 is where plot writing is at one of its most tangled or muddied, given as there’s lots being juggled and introduced conflict-wise and lore-wise and universe-wise and character-wise.
However, S5 - like all seasons - gives us cool stuff. We got Matt (one of my favorite characters) participating in an adventure, lots of Lotor screentime, and a callout to 1980s DOTU that I never thought they’d be able to turn into a good episode (“White Lion”). And!!! We get to meet!!! KROLIA!!!
SIXTH PLACE: VLD Season 3
Tumblr media
I have particularly fond attachment to S3. This is the season where I started getting actively involved in Voltron fandom discourse, giving my own take on Project Kuron theories. This is the season that gave us the first glimpse of the Classic Voltron formation - Keith in Black, Lance in Red, Pidge in Green, Allura in Blue, Hunk in Yellow. I felt a thrill go through me as Keith, for the first time, said “Form Voltron!” Also… Lance really stepping up to show his leadership potential??? So good. And this is the season where we meet Lotor, another long-anticipated character… and oh my goodness is his character introduction gold. So there’s lots of stuff I hold strong affinity for in S3.
The reason I have to rank Season 3 back here is because it’s more about the Paladins floundering around than anything else. It’s meant to create a new sense of chaos and instability… their leader Shiro is gone, and now there are new unexpected threats like Lotor to handle. However, at the same time, since half of the season is just the Paladins floundering around not knowing how to work together, it makes me less attached to particular episodes. None of the episodes are favorites or standouts to me on their own. There’s lots of cool moments throughout S3, but I think the only episode I notably emotionally attach to is “The Journey.” But still? Good season!
FIFTH PLACE: VLD Season 1
Tumblr media
I can’t believe I have this amazing season all the way back here. I want it to be higher, except that I do have to rank other seasons above this one.
Season 1 is what gets everything started. It sets the stage for what Voltron’s all about, teaching us about lions and robeasts and Zarkon and the Galaxy Garrison and all that good stuff from 1980s nostalgia… all the while creating a new vibe and energy to the franchise. In retrospect, S1 feels much calmer and less high-stakes than the rest of the series (especially post S2). However, it’s a solid season with good episodes that never feel less solid and good. We get great Hunk material with him finding conviction; great Shiro and Pidge moments as they share different worries over the abduction; hilarious Keith and Lance clashes; lots and lots and lots of good things. It’s a very solid season, especially once we launch off Arus.
FOURTH PLACE: VLD Season 6
Tumblr media
If you want to know how tight my season rankings are to each other, S6 was almost listed second place.
I attach to specific episodes in particular for S6. I love the visuals in “Razor’s Edge.” I died howling with laughter in “Monsters & Mana.” I fell into so many emotional feels regarding Keith and Shiro in “The Black Paladins.” We get one of the all-time best emotional, action-oriented episodes of VLD… and one of the most amazing, hysterical filler episodes in S6. Despite being seven episodes long, S6 is an incredible ride and adventure start to end. It’s hard to believe so much occurred in that amount of time!
There’s hoards of great stuff in this season. We get the Kuron arc resolved, with lots of emotional content between Keith and Shiro. We get the Lotor arc resolved, learning whether or not he can be trusted, with great Lotor and Allura time. We get Keith returning to the Paladins. We get the introduction of Romelle, which all DOTU lovers have been waiting for forever.
THIRD PLACE: VLD Season 4
Tumblr media
I have to put VLD S4 here because of its emotional power. There are damned AMAZING moments this season, alongside some of my favorite episodes and moments of all time. I know I and some of the other fans aren’t huge on “The Voltron Show!” But fuck it, guys, S4 gave us “Reunion” and “A New Defender”!!!
Matt is a delight this season, from his first meeting of Allura, to his tour around the Castle of Lions with Pidge, to his technological connections with his sister and Hunk, to his participation in the Rebels’ fighting forces. We also get some of the funniest moments for me in Voltron, between learning how to milk Kaltenecker and seeing HOW Pidge finally managed to rig up the video game system.
Then there’s the opposite end of the emotional spectrum. “Reunion” is the single most emotional episode in all of Voltron for me. Even though I’d seen screencaps of Matt prior to watching S4, I felt as shocked and heartbroken as Pidge to come to his gravestone. There’s so much POWER to this gravestone scene; it’s one of the moments that resonates with me the most even after I’ve finished the whole show. It might even be my Number One FAVORITE moment in the entire show. It’s not my place to analyze that scene here, but DAMN.
Furthermore, the climax with the battle of Naxzela was INTENSE, with Keith almost sacrificing himself getting me screaming. That was such a great battle and climactic moment in VLD. This was a great culminating moment, in which the series has officially built up from a small team to a universe-wide conflict.
We get standout moments with Keith being badass with the blades, Matt taking initiative, Pidge seeking out her family, Allura helping Voltron flee the gravity field, Kuron becoming increasingly more suspicious. VLD S4 ramps everything up from the emotions to the excitement, resulting in an awesome and intense six episodes.
SECOND PLACE: VLD Season 7
Tumblr media
It’s really hard for me to put this as second place instead of first place. I originally had it in first place. I want it to be first place. I LOVE the second half of S7 so much. This is, possibly, my favorite season from an emotional standpoint because wow.
It’s all-around outstanding. S7 showed us how far the Paladins have come as heroes; they operate with great teamwork, skill, and professionalism that is oh-so-cool to see on screen. They’re still the characters we love and cherish, but they’ve grown SO MUCH since their first days on Voltron. This is fully-fledged heroes doing fully-fledged battles and it’s GREAT.
S7 gives us standout moments to so many characters, including Hunk, Shiro, Sam, Colleen, Veronica, and Keith. We even get some good adventure time with Romelle! And as far as character interactions are concerned, we get touching moments between Keith and Lance, Keith and Hunk, and so many other combinations.
The story raises the stakes to higher levels than ever before, with an emotional and exciting conquest of Earth. There’s nothing more horrible and high-stakes to audiences than a homefront war. We feel extreme pain for Hunk with fears for his family, and Shiro for the loss of Adam. We feel the great sense of danger and desperation starting with “The Last Stand.” We feel the drama of a long and extended climax fighting for Earth’s freedom, including moments where the Paladins control the Lions outside their body (so cool), Shiro commands the ATLAS (SO cool), and the ATLAS also transforms into a fighting robot (SO FREAKING COOL!). This has some of the most exciting, badass stuff of Voltron ever. I love it.
Highlight episodes for me are “The Last Stand” (two episodes without the Paladins about Earth fighting for its freedom? this was fucking amazing), “Trial By Fire,” and “Lions’ Pride.” Essentially - all of the second half of the season.
FIRST PLACE: Season 2
Tumblr media
Season 2 is probably THE MOST solid season in all of VLD.
Almost every episode is good, memorable, fun, lovable, enjoyable, classic. It highlights the full ensemble cast. It creates an EXTREMELY exciting, exhilarating, fun climax. It is a strong narrative season, cleanly and proudly finishing the first 26 episode long arc for VLD. This season shows VLD at its best. Since it consistently delivers, there’s nowhere else S2 belongs except the top.
We get great Shiro time, what with his arc spent learning to trust Black… leading to him being a badass unlocking the Lion’s wings and taking Zarkon’s bayard. We get great Pidge time, whether it’s her freaking out over video games or drawing deeper into the beauty of the world - technology and biology both. We get great Keith time, with him fighting for answers in the Blade of Marmora and infiltrating Zarkon’s base in an extremely dangerous mission. We get great Hunk time, between unlocking his Lion’s claws and taking initiative in the Weblum adventure. We get great Lance moments, where he shows us he truly can be a sharpshooter for the team. We get great Allura moments, especially in how she fought against Haggar in the finale. This season rocks it for EVERY Paladin.
Not only does every individual Paladin get good spotlighting, but S2 also rocks it with character interactions. How Allura handles Keith being Galra is a memorable moment of character development for both of them. How Hunk and Keith interact in “The Belly of the Weblum” is a delight. How Shiro loses his cool with Slav is hysterical. I can never complain to Lance and Hunk combinations, like in “The Depths.” And of course every episode focused on Keith and Shiro gives us good feels.
Standout episodes for S2 include “The Ark of Taujeer” (THE COLORS), “The Blade of Marmora,” “Blackout,” “Space Mall.” I cannot believe I watched an episode where the character dressed as space pirates and rode on a flying cow to escape a mall cop. That happened. It’s a delight. And S2 kept rocking it with the humor, down to Pidge creating all her Paladin buddies out of space junk and imitating them. But S2 also gives us some of the most memorable moments of VLD storytelling, what with “The Blade of Marmora.” That episode is a staple for many reasons. Not to mention… all of S2 works together cohesively for the long-term arc structure.
And then there’s the climax. So well-done. So exciting. So immersive. So intense. So cool. So badass. Great colors, great flow, great plot, great everything start to end. I was in a THRILL at the end of S2 because this climax was so unbelievably fun. In retrospect it’s got competition with S7, and S7 probably takes the cake now… but fuck it, S2′s end will always be awesome.

Every single season in VLD gives me something to be excited about. There are things to love each step of the journey. I’m thankful for every episode from S1 to S8.
What a ride this journey has been.

So this epic essay/rant began as my thoughts on the scene in S10 (Home Again) where Scully calls Mulder “Fox”.  I get it, I really do that Mulder is "Mulder" and Scully is "Scully" for a lot of shippers and that’s sacred to a lot of you.  But for me it really was a gut punch to hear her call him Fox in that moment... because it suggests to me that in their most intimate, emotional moments they are comfortable with using their first names - in fact, not just comfortable, it’s a kind of language they use to communicate intimacy.  Which started in the show, but they've clearly developed that closeness further in the 10+ years since we last saw them.
So yes, when Scully first wanted to use this language in Tooms to convey an intimate, heartfelt moment with Mulder, (she's about to tell him she wouldn't put herself on the line for anyone but him) she goes to call him Fox and he can't allow it - he tells her to call him Mulder... he lies in fact, he says he makes everyone call him Mulder, even his mother - but when we see his mother she never once calls him that.  Not to mention all of his old flames have called him Fox and he doesn't chastise them.  Even Scully’s mother, Margaret continues to call him Fox even after Scully has corrected her.
Mulder was putting up a barrier in Tooms - he didn't want to allow Scully to get too close - I mean, the guy has a history of dating female co-workers, when you think about it.  Perhaps he'd decided he didn't want that to happen again with Scully - she had become very special to him and he didn't want to lose her to a fling or short-lived romance.
Perhaps that also goes some way to explain why he took so long to act on his feelings for her, and the one time he lets his guard down and does act on them (Fight the Future) he doesn't allow himself to revisit the moment with Scully later.  The bee sting lets him off the hook after a moment of weakness where his deeper feelings for Scully surface as a result of the intensity of the moment (and he tries to kiss her).  But once the moment is gone, the barrier is back up.
When Scully herself attempts to revisit the moment in the first episode of S6, (The Beginning) Mulder is actually quite cold towards her; he removes his hand from hers and walks away.  God, the pain of that scene, which was in no small part the result of reuniting with one Diana Fowley.
Let me side step into talking about Diana for a moment...
I think Mulder/Fowley relationship was a kind of pre-cursor to Mulder/Scully relationship for him.  Fowley was also a beautiful, intelligent woman that he felt attracted to but the difference here was that he acted on those feelings - he let her in; she calls him Fox from the get go, and still does right up until their last scene together.  But look where that ended up for him - she abandoned him and their work together.  Ultimately she was willing to sacrifice her relationship with him for self interest and I think he was pretty badly hurt by that.  What those interests are, we never find out.  But it clearly wasn’t a good enough reason for Mulder to accept, as in The Sixth Extinction he can hear her thoughts, knows her reasons - even as we don’t - and he doesn’t react to her at all, even as she’s telling him she loves him, he doesn’t move to return her feelings.  He pretends to be out of it, but as she leaves the room, he watches her go - letting us know that he does not trust Diana any longer.
This is backed up rather than contradicted by Amor Fati, where Mulder has his last temptation of Christ moment, where Diana ultimately is a figurehead of deception, manipulation, and stagnation.  She sleepwalks him into ruin and away from his chosen path in exchange for domesticity.  That isn’t Mulder, and no one knows that better than Scully - a woman who is able to love a man like him without making any demands of him, whereas Diana is the opposite.  One of these days I will write a mammoth essay about how incredible Scully is... but I digress...
So how does this figure into how and why Mulder would keep Scully at a distance?  Well we as humans often function on the faulty thinking that history will repeat itself; particularly in interpersonal relationships.  I suspect he fears being hurt for one, but also fears losing Scully if he goes down the same path with her that he did with Diana.  So when Scully reminds him of what he said to her in his hallway right before the bee stung, (The Beginning) he doesn’t respond - the walls are up and he refuses to go back to that place again, and quite cruelly shuts Scully down.
In my shipper heart, and apparently backed up by Chris Carter (although he changes his mind on this all the time, so whatevs) Mulder was attracted to Scully straight off the bat; which is pretty clear in the pilot and early episodes imo - he’s a young man and she’s a beautiful, extremely intelligent young woman who stands her ground with him (that - as we discover over time - is kinda his “type”).
But pretty quickly he starts to care for her deeply; to feel he can trust her and only her - she's his human credential, as David Duchovny once poetically put it and that’s even more true in the earlier seasons where Mulder is clearly more bothered by how people view him - with Scully at his side, he stops caring - we stop hearing him reflect on this label of “Spooky” his fellow Agents have given him.
He was isolated and alone, and she saved him from that - she accepted him.  It's completely understandable that he'd start to feel very protective of her and their friendship.  So with that in mind, he can't entertain any thoughts of attraction towards her as that would risk that friendship. So when she tries to call him Fox he’s suddenly quite uncomfortable.  He even seems embarrassed.  Then shocked and I think quite moved, when she tells him she wouldn’t put herself on the line for anyone but him.  But his response?  He plays it off with a flippant comment about iced tea!  He clearly needs to maintain that bit of professional distance to keep their relationship platonic.  Which he often achieves with humour.
So returning to that moment in S10 (Home Again) to see her call him Fox - it’s a huge deal that he now lets her... they're at a different level of intimacy now, he's not trying to keep her at arms length or away from his heart anymore; which is made all the more interesting because they're no longer together in this scene.
That says to me the breakup wasn’t a mutual decision; it definitely wasn't what Mulder wanted - it feels like they are communicating loud and clear that it was Scully that ended their romantic relationship and I get the feeling he's still pretty heartbroken over it.  His slightly bitter remarks in My Struggle where Scully says it’s good for him to get out of “that little house” referring to their home together in IWTB and he responds with “it certainly was good for you.”  Ouch!
Then his comment in Tad O’Malley’s car where she says they’ve both moved on with their lives now the X files are closed and she says “for better or worse” and he says “for better, for worse..” and Scully is clearly very uncomfortable with what he’s said.  There’s so many freakin’ layers here - the most obvious one being the fact these are wedding vows - what are they hinting at here?  (God I sincerely hope they didn’t get married and divorced - but I wouldn’t put that past CC)  but my interpretation is that Mulder is saying Scully was better for it, but he was worse.  The final bitter comment is when he mentions the fact that Scully had apparently once referred to his pursuit of UFOs as having a “stranglehold on her life”.  Ouch.  Again.
But for me, the most heartbreaking scene revealing the depth of Mulder’s loneliness without Scully was in episode 2 (Founder’s Mutation) There is one scene where we see him sitting in the kitchen of the “little house” they once shared together, alone, looking at a photo of William... Gods... what are you trying to do to me, CC??  His lonely figure sitting at the kitchen table in a family home, with 2 empty seats is just another gut punch.
Yeah, he’s definitely still hurting over it.
So just to briefly touch on the first names thing one last time, because I can clearly go off on some epic tangents here; Scully never had any issue with Mulder calling her Dana; it takes her by surprise once (Beyond the Sea) - but every other time he did it, it was again to create intimacy and closeness, it's not some awful transgression that's a betrayal of their past relationship - it's an evolution of it. Thinking here of how hung up people get about Mulder referring to Scully as “Dearest Dana” in an email in Trustno1.
I want to hear her call him Fox again - at least one more time.  Sex scene, anyone?  Ha!  FIGHT ME!

Hi Callie! Apparently you didn’t receive my very first ask the other day, so I hope you don’t mind me putting its content again here: congratulations on finishing HIYH and completing your daily physical activity duty (idk if it still applies), it’s awesome :-) I was also agreeing that “The GDS” and “Sleeper” were not really the most memorable episodes imo ^^ (NSA)
“I totally get this idea that the possibility of a relapse is very real and realistic, that personal demons can come back unexpected only to slap you in the face all over again. Same reason why an alcoholic can never drink alcohol again (looking at you 7x06) and why “Kill Shot” unsettled a still recovering Beckett. Your other paragraph made me realize that in the end, Beckett risked her marriage, a relationship she had fought for, for what? Avenging people from her former AG team, (NSA)
with whom she had only worked for a few weeks until she realized that her job in the FBI went against her values… And if I remember 8x02 well, Loksat didn’t constitute a threat to her life either at the time. In fact, when you put it like that, some could argue why Kate would even bother to go to such lengths. And the answer would be this third layer you’re talking about, the fact that she felt responsible, that she still knew the Agents that were killed. (NSA)
Loksat being somehow connected to Bracken certainly didn’t help. Now this reminds me a little bit of 3x22, how Beckett decided to fly alone to LA to solve a case which was admittedly more personal than the one of her AG team, but still less personal than her mother’s case. Imo, the problem with S8 maybe lies in the fact that Castle remains a TV show, even if the concept you mentioned is important and realistic? By this I mean that while parallels are nice, (NSA)
some people may have felt that TV show-wise they were reliving the relationship struggles of S4, only this time maybe the execution lacked a little bit? I think we may have been too spoiled with Casketty goodness in S6 and S7, especially me as someone who started watching Castle in S6 and stayed tuned in part because I was so sure that Caskett would never go through a separation. I cannot begin to imagine what it was like for the fans who were hoping to see a pregnant Beckett in S8, (NSA)
as they considered it to be the ultimate step forward for her and Castle. Well, so much for stopping the ramblings about S8 lol. One last question about this, do you recall if it was ever explained why Castle was abducted in the first place, as I doubt his disappearance was related to Loksat right away?I’m with you on the girls’ scene! Kudos to Lanie for refraining herself, she was definitely pursing her lips right after she gave Kate the well-deserved Look^^ (NSA)
Other than that, during that time there are two sides to jealous as far as I’m concerned. When Castle or Beckett is looking at the other person interacting with a SO, I put myself in their shoes and I am simply heartbroken. When they have these longing looks or act jealous when they interact with each other, I’m mostly frustrated and I just want to lock them in the supply room and have them kiss already. Now I’m picturing you yelling at the screen and it’s awesome! (NSA)
It’s okay, really, that the OS wasn’t all fluffy. I personally thought there was a nice balance between fluff and angst. It’s also not the first time I’ve read a fic in which Caskett are separated for a while after 5x24, so this aspect didn’t bother me so much. And yess the happy ending totally made up for it! I knew it would be okay from the moment Castle was being supportive in the cab. On a side note, I really loved Agent Cannon as well! (NSA)
Last thing for today: a few days ago, I happened to read another post of yours on tumblr and I would like to know if you speak (a) foreign language(s) :) Until next time! NSA (9/9)”
As always, response under the cut.
Hello NSA! Again, I would like to offer my sincerest apologies for the delay in responding. But, thank you so much for your congratulations. HIYH was a pain in the ass to finish (as in the exercise tbh, which I’ve admittedly stopped doing due to pain) so I was really proud of myself.
I think your opinions on why this in my opinion realistic story lines didn’t necessarily appeal to people. It was rather similar to S4, but in a way it focused more on him trying to figure out her secret than on them growing together. There was much more self-denial, in a way, than a natural progression from friends to more (even though the final decision to jump into a relationship was rather spontaneous). While I wouldn’t say they’re the same story line, S8 was certainly more reminiscent of season 4 than of the previous two seasons.
Although I have to admit, that’s probably part of why I like it as much as I do. Season 4 is my favorite season, and season 6 is my least favorite. It’s kind of one of those things where, yes, there’s some amazing moments that I could watch over and over again, but the season as whole feels almost disjointed and checklist-y, the serious episodes being forgotten immediately. Season 6 for me was kind of, like, I really enjoyed some moments, but a lot of the cases bored me and the b-plots became pretty repetitive and dare I say shallow, so I lose interest when watching a lot of the eps. (Season 7 was better, imo, but I still far prefer the sense of progression through the episodes rather than a stagnant relationship founded more on actions than emotional developments. It’s just a personal preference of mine.)
I will say, though, that I was actually one of the people that did want to see pregnant Beckett on the show. Although I can understand why they didn’t want to go that route, given that Caskett then would have had a baby in a hypothetical season 9, which is fairly difficult to handle on crime dramas (the early days of Christine on Bones spring to mind). In a way, I do think it would have been an interesting thing to throw into S8 (hence the writing of Rebirth) but I can also see how that would have been maybe too much angst for a TV show that generally avoids heavy issues.
As for Castle’s abduction, I’ve only seen Sleeper once, but here’s what I remember (it may not all be accurate). As a kid, Castle attended school with some dude that later joined Al Qaeda. Even later, this man decided to be an informant to the CIA (there was something about traces of his past life being erased too? idk.) but the first time he tried to meet/hand himself over, there was a shooting. They then needed someone he trusted and high-profile enough for their death to matter to go to the meeting so their couldn’t be another shooting, and chose Castle. CIA or something kidnapped him to bring him to the meeting. I think. Idk. That episode was a mess.
Oh, I’m not big on the more heartbroken jealousy (A Deadly Game and Countdown spring to mind). But I don’t view Colin Hunt and Jacinda as significant others, nor the source of Caskett’s heartbreak, more like the bi-product of it. By which I mean, Castle is heartbroken by Beckett’s lies, not by seeing her flirt with Colin, and his heartbreak drives him to Jacinda. Beckett is heartbroken by him pulling away, which started before Jacinda, and ends up flirting with Colin as a result. So where I find their jealousy in that episode fun to watch is in the sense that they’re both being so stupid, trying to make the other jealous (consciously or not) and too oblivious to see how well it’s working. Idiots in love.
I’m glad you enjoyed To Breathe Again! I have to admit, it’s probably one of the one-shots I’m most proud of.
And I actually do speak a foreign language. Well, it’s not actually foreign to me because Canada is bilingual, but I’m fluent in both English and French. What about you, NSA? Do you speak any other languages?

Hi Callie! Sorry for the delay, my first week back was hectic but I’m good now, thank you
“Well, given that the AG team we knew was murdered, introducing someone new from the AG, as well as Vikram or Rita becoming bad guys, would certainly be plausible, even if kind of predictable options. I absolutely love that you thought about the Mayor and the Judge! Most casual watchers may not remember them but I guess a good intro could sell it. I’ve been thinking that the people in the fandom who chose to boycott “The GDS” actually completely missed Mason’s first appearance ^^ (NSA)
In my opinion, tying up Castle’s disappearance with LokSat was a great closure for this arc. I’m one of those who would have preferred a fake separation from the beginning, not just once Castle called Kate out on it again. And while it was not OOC, I personally didn’t really think there was character growth in how they kept things from each other (Kate in S8 and Castle during his disappearance) instead of investigating together like they did in S6, even though they both had their reasons. (NSA)
I mean, in 8x02, Castle and the boys had already heard of the term LokSat, they just didn’t know yet Allison Hyde’s death was not a suicide. You seem to be mentioning the end of 8x15, and that was a nice realization from Kate indeed (although belated). I do get how your take on S8 makes it likeable for you. I really like your idea of changing the voice over, and would maybe just keep the last part with “Every writer…” It would have been a nice and pretty simple way to remove all doubts alright
And I may be repeating myself here, but don’t worry about your ramblings, and never dare thinking you’re annoying either, I for one always find your commentaries very insightful ;) On your take on 3x01, I do love Caskett’s capacity for forgiveness and how they overcome their hurt feelings in order to be able to keep working together. As you could see, I cited 2x01 and the Limey, so I can take heartbreak depending on the circumstances. (NSA)
I think this aspect was okay for me in 2x01 because Beckett wasn’t hurt for romantic reasons, and her reactions were in line with S1 (except for the very end of the ep, great scene by the way). On the other hand, there was this sting accompanying Kate’s banter during most of 3x01, which made me feel uneasy at times, and which was kind of a step back, even if understandable? I have to say I was still reeling from the shock of the S2 finale myself when I watched “A Deadly Affair”. (NSA)
In “The Limey”, Kate and Castle were both deeply heartbroken but reading fics about this arc early on helped me be at peace with the episode. For example, I believe the first multichapter I have ever read was “In Some Corner” by Liv Wilder. I like to think neither of them went really far with their SO and Colin is still way more classy than Erik Vaughn. As for details about the other eps, I’m unfortunately gonna have to postpone the discussion. Until next time! (NSA)”
Response under the cut.
Well, I’m glad you survived your hectic first week back and things have calmed down now. And thank you, for the well wishes. The acupuncture so far hasn’t done much besides worsen my pain but that was to be expected and I’m hoping that, with time, it will help to improve my symptoms. Also, no need to apologize, I’m sure we’ve all experienced such a thing.
Agreed. I’m not saying that it would have been the best option (I’m generally terrible at coming up with identities for big bads *side eyes my S9 episode*) but rather than I think a lot of alternative options would have been better accepted by the fandom, if not the casual viewer (which is just as important, I simply don’t know they felt about the finale so it’s hard to say if they liked Mason or would have preferred an alternative). But I do most certainly think that fandom attitude towards The GDS, both those who simply found it to be a rather boring episode, like me, and those who hate it because Stana wasn’t in it, worsened the attitude towards the finale. In part, for sure, because a lot of people just didn’t know Mason, and in part because tying the bad guy back to a single episode which a lot of people dislike is just not the ideal move.
Imo, tying up Castle’s disappearance with LokSat was the only thing that gave Castle’s disappearance any semblance of meaning besides the like two episodes they spent recovering in early S7. I like that they tied it in in a way that added, imo, validation to the separation by presenting Castle’s knowledge that she wouldn’t be able to let it go, albeit not that she would leave him. While I understand the desire for solely a fake separation, I don’t think such an arc would have had the same emotional impact on the characters, namely Beckett. Forgive the plug of my own GIFset, but I think this exemplifies the character growth I perceive. Kate realizing those things was, imo, important and tied in well with her character, and, again simply in my opinion, wouldn’t have been possible had she had Castle at her side, because it simply would have mirrored past experience without showing her the lengths to which those metaphorical wounds would push her. And the separation forced her not only to see that, but to learn to face it in order to save/continue her marriage.
Well, I’m certainly glad you forgive my ramblings, because evidently I’m not very talented at diminishing them.
I can see how 2x01 and 3x01 contrast in a way that you would enjoy the latter less. I also think there’s a different level to their emotions, if that makes sense. Like, in 2x01, she’s heartbroken, but also really angry at him, perhaps both for digging into her mother’s case and for hurting her, on a more emotional level, by doing so. Whereas in 3x01 she’s mostly heartbroken and angry with him for causing that, by my perception, at least. I actually really like The Limey, too. Their dynamic of mutual jealousy all the while both believing the other stopped caring is, dare I say it, fun to watch, but remains heartbreaking due to the pain they both evidently feel.
I look forward to hearing details about the other eps.
Until next time, NSA!
Callie xx
