Tumblr media
Another design for my reimagined RWBY AU, Saints of Remnant done by the wonderful @magiesheartlove!
The Honorable and self-proclaimed infamous thief Roman Torchwick, leader of The Lampwick Gang!
I won’t give away too much, but he’s not really that bad of a guy. And he exaggerates his heists, which Officer Robyn Hill keeps calling him out on it.

RWBY: Saints of Remnant - The Storyteller
Tumblr media
(Art done by the wonderful @magiesheartlove)
One of the many personas of The Celestial King
The Storyteller, who is worshiped in Remnant as the creator of the world and all life in it
The People of Remnant know very little of him, what is known he was sent by the even more mysterious Author Allfather to 'tell' the world of Remnant, or at the time Omnibus, into existence.
From there he had brought humans in, or I should have had stumble in, from another world that is known to those of Remnant as "The Other World" and the Deep Magic of Omnibus, known as 'Lore', had gifted them the potential of Aura and Semblance, and even transformed some humans into Faunus. And unfortunately some time after as a result of the fallen nature of humans and Faunus, evil was brought into Omnibus.
From there the fallen servant of The Author Allfather, Grimmel The Black and formerly known as Lux of Many Colors, had used it to manifest a vile ink that exists as a corruption and negation of creation which the Grimm are spawned.
Sometime after, The Storyteller appeared to a bookish sheepherder named Ozma with his wife and made him his prophet and gave him the power of The Patron Saints, with Ozma himself taking the role of The Time Wizard and gave the other powers to those who he found worthy. From there they rallied the four ancient tribes and raised four holy and mighty kingdoms in The Storyteller's honor until Ragnarok which the Saints were slaughtered and the world and moon were shattered, thus Remnant was born.
The Storyteller is described as many things besides his title, a creator, a healer, a poet
But one description is recurrent of him, and the Patron Saints that served him
'Not safe, but good'
Also idea borrowed from @vitamaeternum

Upcoming Insanity for 2024
So a quick and dirty list of some ideas I am looking at throwing out there into the Tumblr-verse in the upcoming New Year. If you have suggestions or ideas you would like me to try my hand at... feel free to hit me up. I'll do my best. *Titles may change
Anyway on to the list...
Sullied Saints (RWBY & the Boondock Saints) - Jaune and his twin sister Joan have been trained by their mother Jasmine and are rather "harsh" on criminals who think they are untouchable.
Happiness in a Bottle? (RWBY & I Shall Survive Using Potions!) - Jaune was killed on Earth, but because his life had been filled with such pain and suffering a minor astral entity resurrects him on Remnant with the ability to create any potion in any container he can visualize.
?????? (RWBY & A certain Scientific Railgun) - Jaune is an ESPER. He is an "Electromaster" (ala Misaka Mikoto), and ends up butting heads with Yang at Junior's club. After a backdoor deal he finds himself attending Beacon.
Rule of Three (RWBY & One Piece - Zoro) - Jaune hides from everyone in the stacks of the Library after being a complete failure. Falls asleep while reading an ancient training manual...
Blink (RWBY - Alternate Semblance) - Jaune loves to run, and when he unlocks his semblance it makes his parkour runs even more fun... his semblance he calls "Blink"... an instantaneous teleport to any point he can clearly see within 200 meters.
The Path Not Followed (RWBY - Jaune is a magic user) - Jaune was trained just not in a way most others were. An expert in arcane use... specifically cantrips. Finally fed up with his martial performance he decided with his mother's blessing to try something new.
There maybe others, plus there is of course those stories I am currently still working on... plus any other stupidity I can think up.
Anyway... Wishing Everyone a Happy Safe and Prosperous New Year!!!

Hey, its me again. I brought this blog back up, due to drama I got into with another blog who I shall remain nameless and I blocked along with their associate as soon as I brought this blog back up(which I'm not sure if that was a good choice) I kinda thought what you said and I feel like I didn't articulate what I meant in terms of adversity and struggle
My point by using Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood was that yes, the characters had adversity and struggle, but it didn't killed off the couples(then again, you could argue Hughes and his wife) along with Star Wars(of course there's Anakin and Padme and Satine), they faced these things together and *lived* instead, and I felt that should have been Arkos, Black Sun, Iceberg, and Renora(not without addressing the problems with said ships of course) along with Oscar making it and a few smaller supporting characters. I gotta get Saints of Remnant up and running, need a good Tumblr theme for it maybe.
It's not that I don't want it all fluffy and no adversity, raised stakes, or struggle or consequences, I just don't go about it like that. And you do not have to agree with this approach or my concepts, you do not have to at all.
I just feel like is such aforementioned necessary qualities we keep defining by our own personal standards along with what concepts can or cannot be and what directions they can and cannot go, which is fine as long as we are honest about it.
But now we pressure that onto others and assume the worst when they don't comply.
Not saying you are, but I feel like to say "those who don't like Pyrrha and Arkos ending tragically want it to be a super fluffy" is kinda of a leap, that's what it sounds like to me. And I apologize if I misunderstood that.
I gotta be honest, I don't really remember this conversation. So anything that I could say could be wildly off the mark for the conversation previous. So I'll just go off on a ramble.
But if we're talking about conflict in relationship, then by definition a relationship without conflict or adversity is fluffy. You can want and like Arkos as a ship, but the reality is that Pyrrha's death was necessary for the plot, as stupid as the plot may or may not have been as it gave Ruby motivation to seek answers. Without Pyrrha dying, Ruby, and subsequently Norra, Jaune and Ren would have no reason to travel across Anima.
There's more to a story than romance, and while you can say there's a certain amount of story potential lost when a character dies, it's equally true when a character lives when they should rightfully have died. There's no sense in keeping a character around when they've fulfilled their narrative purpose and the deaths are more valuable to the structure of the story than their being alive. Ned Stark from Game of Thrones is a brilliant example of this. Sure, had many story possibilities been cut off due to his death? Of course. But the story that can now be told because of his death is so much more interesting than if Ned survived.
Stories where characters survive canon deaths usually are relegated to fanfiction for a reason. Not that their stories are less valuable as being told, but that fanfiction itself has no limitations, no expectation or even standards of quality. Fanfiction can be whatever it needs to be because there's no expectation that it needs to be anything greater than what it is (and what fanfiction is ranges from expertly told epics spanning tens of thousands of pages to the keyboard mash of an intellectually savant five year old). In fanfiction people can explore those alternate stories, but more often than not those will end up being fluff pieces that don't narratively go anywhere or otherwise struggle to get the characters into the plot in a natural way other than the plot dictates for it to happen. RWBY has a lot of writing issues, and does this writing faux pas I've just mentioned, but in this instance, it is good writing. Not because a character died, but because of logical stakes and follow through to get the main characters where they need to be in the plot.

I feel like people hate James just cause he’s part of a military. Like I know that real world militaries are corrupt.. So fans like to project their hate for law enforcement onto a fictional character. Makes them seem more woke.
that’s essentially the issue. they can’t divorce their real life issues from a military that is corrupt to one that we see ... really isn’t. everything we see about the military in remnant is that not only is it needed  —  considering there are man eating murder monsters running around  —  but also that it has more accountability inset into it than the huntsmen do. y’know, the supposed “good” force?
the huntsmen we see throughout the show vary from barely nice to outright corrupt. there’s no accountability in the system for huntsmen, you get your license & then you go off wherever you want. we’ve seen huntsmen in the show abuse civilians, extort them for money, etc etc. we also know from the grimm campaign & backstories about mistral that they’re part of the underground in that kingdom & they’re definitely not the moral, good, upstanding beacons of humanity that ozpin probably wished they were. y’know ... while ignoring racists in his own academy. cardin is gonna be a future huntsman, keep that in mind. hell, qrow is a huntsman & look how he handles not only his own affairs, but when he does come across the military, he’s intentionally aggressive & provocative. he started the fight, not winter. but somehow huntsmen are all controlled & it’s the military that are out of control, doing whatever they please. sure.
the military is not only accountable to the council in vale, but the one in atlas as well. james can’t just do whatever he wants, even with “ two seats ” because he has to answer to camilla, sleet & jacques. the army & the academy are probably put together for convenience & while in real life, there is a school to military pipeline preying on young kids, we don’t see that in the show. what we do see is that going into the army, much like going into the academy, is voluntary & that it even offered a way out for winter where she would be treated with respect & care, something her abusive parents didn’t give her.
james also isn’t this hardass military general or headmaster. he takes time to speak with the students in the school, so many come to him that he has to make appointments to have them all seen. he gave rwbyjnr their licenses, instead of making them go through the next couple of years of schooling in atlas academy like he should have. his first action in beacon was to send the students away because there were ample forces to deal with the grimm, he didn’t want to have any of them sacrifice their lives.
yet somehow, the huntsmen are these untouchable, elevated saints of goodness in the world while the military is demonized. despite in the show, the military is one of the most quality checked institutions & actually demonstrates equality, while huntsmen & the other academies let all manner of underhanded, criminal things happen or just instances of abuse go unchecked. it’s mind boggling.
one of the biggest cries against the ace ops in the fndm was that they were cops. when no, they’re soldiers. you know who are the remnant version of cops, complete with abuses of the system that doesn’t care to keep them in check? rwby. weiss literally arrests her father but somehow she’s not a cop? rwby are the cops. not james.

Interdimensional Moms part 2
Part 1 <-
Yang:Okay Weiss, your turn.
Weiss:What!? Why me?
Blake:Because you’ve been bouncing in your seat all through Yang’s story. You clearly want to gush about your kids.
Weiss:Pffft, What!? Nooooo, a little. Hehehe I can’t believe I’m that obvious. *smiles*
Ruby:Aww look at you, I never believe Weiss Schnee could look as warm as campfire.
Yang:And wearing mom jeans!? Little jealous that you still look completely gorgeous. Why does mom energy make you prettier?
Weiss:What can I say? I’m great. As far as my universe goes, I argue that I’m the strongest mom!
Blake:Such a bold claim.
Weiss:I carried twins! *points to self* this body handled two buns in the oven!
Ruby:Couldn’t be me. *shutters* I’d sooner loose an eye. Speaking of eyes, your scar has a friend. Got this whole upside down cross basically.
Weiss:Oh that? That’s uhhhh- how would I even explain this?
Yang:And your hair! It’s short!
Ruby:Yeah you’re just a surprise all over.
Blake:Guys, let her start from the beginning!
Ruby and Yang:Oh right. *covers mouths*
Weiss:(Yep, they’re the same sisters anywhere.) Thank you Blake. Now then...a good starting place? Well I suppose I could lay the ground work of Jaune and I getting better acquainted. It was about two weeks into reaching Atlas. Winter learned I got impaled and berated me not giving any kind of thanks. Since I had waited so long to do so, words wouldn’t do for her standards and she made me take him to a proper dinner. I think it was that night we actually talked openly to each other. A piece of me was annoyed at first because I thought he’d get the wrong idea again. But...he didn’t. He was just happy to spend time with me. That’s when I realized he had changed a bit *red* and apparently I changed too. Sigh, because that annoyed feeling was actually me forming a crush.
Blake:Looks like you changed more than he did. I think we can all agree that we’re pretty rough to deal with at Beacon in the beginning?
Yang:Hell yeah!
Ruby:Preach! Hehe, but it meant you grew the most too.
Weiss:Hey! You’re all assuming that I was terrible! Who knows, I could a Saint compared to your Weiss. Maybe I was a sweetheart at Beacon.
RBY:.....
Yang:Were you?
Weiss:*red* I’ll never tell.
Blake:(That’s just a no...) Two weeks into Atlas huh? I bet feelings raged whenever the whole place was under attack huh?
Weiss:W...What attack? Barely anything happened in Atlas.
Blake:Excuse me?
Ruby:Pfft what? You’re joking right? There wasn’t any threat of things falling out the sky or war threats?
Weiss:No? We showed up, put the relic in vault, and took time fortifying things while planning with Ironwood. The most exciting thing was a grimm wave and two of Salem’s goons showing up at a ball, but we handled that.
Ruby:....I...that’s...oh my head.
Blake:So what you’re saying is time in Atlas was a piece of cake?
Weiss:Well I had to deal with my father and and a lot of other family drama so I wouldn’t say it was cake. It was actually very stressful.
Yang:Well I think we found the massive shift between worlds. Atlas was different. I would say I dealt with anything like falling kingdoms. Atlas for me was one long Mission Impossible sequence. Espionage, jail break, fake deaths, but please continue with your love story.
Weiss:You sound a little envious. Anyways there isn’t too much of anything to tell in that part. Dates, fighting together, sibling healing, I was disowned publicly, Penny was being amazing-
Blake:You were disowned?
Ruby:(Penny is...alive? Huh, well, imagine that?) .....
Yang:*whispers* You okay Rubes?
Ruby:Yeah, processing. Hey Weiss? Not to control the narrative or anything, but how is your Ruby exactly? I get the feeling she’s quite different from me somehow if things like the adventure in Atlas are different.
Weiss rubbed her chin. She could tell the Ruby in front of her was pretty perplexed by the differences so far. In fact, Weiss could tell mentioning Penny made them all flinch a little. It was safe to assume they all hadn’t heard that name in a very long time. It made her feel a little bad. Did she somehow get a more ideal world?
Weiss:I think I might be able to answer that if you could humor me by getting a little further into my world’s reality? I don’t know how but I do get a since the two of you might have a key difference.
Ruby:I’m all ears.
Weiss: Blake, I’ll circle back to being disowned a little later. It’s one of the biggest reasons I am who I am now. Let’s see now, ah, the plan. After Atlas was infiltrated it was hard to save face to the rest of Remnant. That was until the world learned about Salem. It was a secret that was doing more harm than good at this point. On that day, our journey really began for us. Team RWBY wasn’t just four girls and their friends. It was one of four four girls commanding troops, organizing meetings, rallying others. We were the face of a revolution: along with JNPR of course.
Ruby:The world just...believed in Salem?
Weiss:There were plenty skeptics, but it’s harder not to believe it. Pen- our winter maiden, showed off magic. Then the others on our side followed the example. We had two relics to show off from the start, and a variety of ways to explain questions throughout history that nobody could answer before. We gave humanity’s suffering a face. People were more than eager to cling to it. From that point it was hard for Salem to make a move that wouldn’t give further validity to our story.
Ruby:An army huh, lead by us?
Weiss:Yep, mainly you when it came to the battlefield. You were anxious at first and definitely made moves that you regretted. But...after some time and experience, you stood tall in front of dozens to give a speech the night of the final battle. I still get chills. There wasn’t an eye that wasn’t on you. A person who didn’t want to march into battle with you. I don’t think I ever seen you more sure of where you were meant to be.
Ruby:Is that so? Hmm, I think...I think I get it now. Your Ruby must’ve stumbled quite a bit, but had people by her consistently. It was other’s strength that enabled her to get stronger. How old was she when the war was over?
Weiss:It ended on her twenty first birthday.
Ruby:Makes sense. An army isn’t made in a day. Plans and caution for everyone involved. A united force like that sounds like a thing Oz dreamed of.
Weiss:Actually, it was. My world beat Salem by gaining the relics. The gods witnessed the effort the world put in and stripped her of immortality. It was actually thanks to you that Salem went peacefully. Instead of damning her to a cruel fate, the gods let her pass on to her kids per your request. After that, gods and magic came back. Both are still mysterious. The gods are hard to find and there’s only one person born with magic so far.
Yang:Magic is a thing there!? That’s so unfair! Just imagine me with more fire!?
Weiss:Like you need it!? You’re already like a generator. Life after Salem wasn’t any calmer really. Terrifying grimm lurked where their could, an entire new way of life had been dropped on society, and even the world itself seemed to react. Weather has been more intense as of late. There was a lot things to keep people busy. Ruby being her usual self, started hunting. Blake used the momentum of faunus and humans working together to further her equality agenda, and Yang helped both of you out.
Yang:Look at me! I’m a great girlfriend and sister!
Blake:*mumbles* There at least.
Weiss:Yeah. Oscar and Penny decided to embarrass more of normal lifestyle, mostly. Penny went back to being protector of Mantle, but had way more free time to be a normal girl. Both of them had gotten really close over the years and eventually married.
Ruby:*wide eyed* Awwww, good for them! I always had a feeling those two would hit it off.
Weiss:They weren’t the only ones. You may have been busy, but you always made time for Whitley. The two of you were dating since our original trip to Atlas. There wasn’t a problem that either of you didn’t come to me for. You know hard it is to navigate other people’s relationships when you’re lost in your own? The blind was leading the blind. Worked out though. You were probably the prettiest bride out of all of us. Then again, you went ours and literally took notes.
Ruby:Hehe, that sounds exactly like something I’d do. You haven’t talked much about the charmed life after the war for you.
Weiss felt her face heat up. She placed her head on the table as if she gave up on something.
Yang:Yeah! Give us the scoop!
Weiss:Charmed isn’t what I’d call my life exactly. I was disowned, completely cut off. Even though I made my own mark in history, it’s not like people were gonna roll out red carpets. The world had to rebuild, and I needed a roof over my head. Thus began the modest life of Weiss Schnee, owner of a two bedroom Argus apartment. Fancy clothes a food were no more. Just clearance sales and two for one. Honestly, I didn’t hate. But that’s mainly because I wasn’t living alone.
Blake:Jaune?
Weiss:Living back home was just as unappealing for him as it was for me. That and the fact that I couldn’t cook for shit was concerning, to say the least. Moving in and splitting rent just made sense. We weren’t dating yet technically, but.....it didn’t take long for the relationship between us to...expand.
Yang:I cannot believe a Weiss Schnee finally caved to tall blonde and scraggly. I should be jealous, but I’m strangely proud of Jaune’s achievement. It’s like the first time I lost to him. I was upset, but man did he work for that win.
Weiss:Took about a month before all of you had learned just what the living situation was like and man did you three let the teasing begin? *smiles* it was fun though. If I had to wrong about something then I’m glad it was about me not thinking a person is reliable. Especially since they’ve bailed me out of trouble many times. Normal life had its pitfalls. We were constantly working to pay rent. Sometimes one of us had to work harder. Getting sick was disastrous, of long term assignments. What’s the relationship I have with Whitley in the other worlds?
Ruby:Casual. The two of are always throwing ideas back and forth to help the company.
Blake:The two of you are fine. I’m not too sure how much you actually hang out, but you both are pretty snarky whenever you’re together.
Yang:Thick as thieves. That man was always shifting money and finding sneaky ways to let us know when important things popped up.
Weiss:Good, that’s really good. *exhales* I can’t count the times he sent money without father knowing. I’m glad we reconnected. Without his and everyone’s help, I don’t think I would’ve managed. Especially when mom died...
Ruby:Oh. I...I’m sorry to hear that.
Weiss:It’s bound to happen when you drink the way she did. But yeah, didn’t handle it any easier. Between that and stressing over money, I really got overwhelmed often. I was very glad I didn’t live alone. Even if I didn’t want to talk about things, Jaune was always there to listen. I think it was around that time I realized just how in love I actually was with him. He makes me happy. That idiot must’ve known how much of a weakness I had for him. It was only a few months later that he proposed.
The simple memory of Jaune asking her under a street light on a cold yet peaceful night, made Weiss’s face a healthy shade of red. A gentle smile was all she could make thinking about it. A smile that left everyone stunned. They had never seen Weiss look so warm. So genuinely filled with love, happiness. To think she was once called Ice Queen? This one really did look like an Angel. Weiss quit daydreaming and got a little embarrassed.
Weiss:Uh, sorry! I guess I little mushy there. I’ve been told I’ve gotten pretty sappy through the years.
Blake:I think that’s beautiful.
Yang:Seriously. I’m...speechless really.
Ruby:A hardworking Weiss that struggled making ends meet. I gotta say that you look good doing it.
Weiss:Yeah well, that time has passed. My father got sick and in an attempt to “clear his conscious” or whatever he was feeling, he put me back in the family. I only saw him once when he was on his deathbed. Truthfully, I don’t visit my parent’s grave. I wanna say old emotions don’t get stirred up, but there’s certain feelings towards people that just can’t die I guess.
Yang:That’s fair. Who knows, maybe you just need a decade or two?
Weiss:Hehe, perhaps. However, before I got my fortune back, I was granted an either better one. Two in fact. That sly knight of mine managed to overachieve like he always does and give us a boy and girl.
Blake:I got a sneaking suspicion that you weren’t upset?
Weiss:Not for one second! I love my babies. My darling little Nick and Summer Schnee. One named after our grandfather, and Jaune and I are both really thankful for all that Ruby has done for us, so our daughter got named Summer. It meant a lot. My Ruby...she can’t have kids, or I should say getting and staying pregnant is extremely difficult.
Ruby:...*sniffling* These aren’t tears by the way. Just dust.
Weiss:My Ruby cried.
Ruby:Oh I bet! That’s some powerful stuff. Probably ugly cried too. Someone please say something? *misty eyed* Fuck, man that was a lot. *puts hood up* give me a sec, please keep going. *holding Yang’s hand*
Yang:Weiss, weren’t you a little scared about your living situation?
Weiss:It was a weird thing. We talked about having a family before hand. Money was always a concern, as well space; but I also knew that I did want to have a family of my own one day. So when the day came that the nurse told me I was pregnant, I should’ve been more worried. I wasn’t. All I felt was joy. Maybe it was because I had faith we could handle anything. We did have you all to help. Yang, you might as well be a superwoman honestly. You have been so amazing throughout my life.
Yang:Aye! I really love this other me.
Blake:What about me?
Weiss:You remain the most sensible person in my life and I thank you for it. Everyone else is crazy.
Blake:Yeah that’s pretty on brand. *smiles*
Ruby:Picture please?
Weiss gladly pulled out her scroll and showed off her children. It was quick to see both of them had gotten their father’s dorkiness. They stood in front of the camera playfully winking and were pretending to take a bite out the gold medals they had around their necks. It was crazy how much Summer looked like her mother, but clearly had Jaune’s eyes. Her brother on the other hand had the Schnee eyes and messy Arc hair. The two looked like barrels of fun. Then there was the man himself, Jaune Arc. He looked from the one in Yang’s photo. His hair resembled his days traveling to Haven and he was clean shaven, but he was noticeably healthier. It wasn’t even a physical thing much, though he did look good. He just seemed more vibrant.
Yang:Mine is cuter.
Weiss:Yours looks like your dad with the scruff.
Yang:Can you not?
Blake:How old?
Weiss:Sixteen. Little devils want sports car. I’m not dealing with that. Nick is really good at figure skating and is the oldest, so he’s the heir. Summer decided to be a little like her mother and pursue singing. Doesn’t have my voice though, but her range is better than me. I’m jealous. Both of them are always pretty decent in a fight if I do say so myself. Sigh, they grow up so fast. They still have a lot of growing to do though. Teenagers...
RBY:Preach...
Ruby:Everything okay though? Nothing too tough going on?
Weiss:Can I lie and say yes?
Yang:Hey I unpacked my baggage. Unload yours.
Weiss let out a large sigh. She looked at her kids lovingly, but had a smile that seemed...somber. All of her energy was brought down a bit and it showed.
Yang:Umm if it’s too much-
Weiss:It’s fine. It might be a little therapeutic to talk about it. Personally, I don’t I’m doing all I really can do. When they were very young, we all took a trip to go skating at a frozen lake. While I was there I found this strange ice dust that I’ve never seen before. Nick and Summer had gotten into a fight and by accident, Nick set off the dust. The shrapnel from it hit everyone, but Summer had it the worse. I’m talking it was lodged in her in multiple places. Not to mention the blast sent her flying into the water. I was hit so hard that I nearly blacked out. Thankfully, Jaune was the furthest and dove into the water while I managed to get Nick. He avoided a lot of it due to distance and was winded more than anything.
Ruby:Christ...
Blake:How young?
Weiss:Five. We rushed so fast to the hospital as soon as we could. The dust in Summer was freezing her until Nick activated her semblance and most of the shards got used up. Still, Summer ended up hospitalized for almost a year. Surgeries, comas, seizures; it was difficult to put it lightly. That picture doesn’t show it but she has puncture scars across her body, and a slight scar under her jawline she covers with makeup. That dust, though highly dangerous, it also healed her eventually. Summer had virtually no chance of survival. Not even counting the organ damage, that water should’ve put her into shock. But...she made a full recovery, on paper.
Yang:On paper?
Weiss:Several years later, Summer came in contact with the dust again and she...changed. Her eyes looked like mine, her light blonde hair went white, and she went mad. Her scars glowed with the dust that was still in her system and Summer started attacking everyone. I saw my twelve year old just use ice that was cold enough to burn. My extra scar is from me trying to restrain her. In the end it took my gigas pinning her down before she came to her senses. Summer had no memory of it. She said all remembered was feeling cold and hearing her own laughter. It wasn’t long after that it kept happening. Any time she got cold, this other...thing would come out. It eventually called itself Shiva.
Blake:Shiva? So...it’s a multiple personality?
Weiss:We don’t know. There’s so many inconsistencies. We got her checked up by the best and every test was normal. Her brain looks normal. But any time Shiva comes out, her blood turns blue and all she wants to do is hurt us. Shiva and Summer are even aware of each other now. There’s almost no day where Summer doesn’t hear Shiva in her head, wrestling for control. Between that, people at school who hate her, the scars, everything; Summer has become pretty reserved. She barely wants to go to school and she’s depressed most days. Nowadays she doesn’t open up about it outside of therapy. I...I can connect with her. Not in the way that matters.
Yang:I...shit, I don’t know what to say to that.
Weiss:That’s okay, few do. We’ve gotten good at preventing situations that get Summer cold but it’s through trial and error on something we know nothing about. Even with how far we’ve gotten, there’s a looming fear in everyone’s heart. Make no mistake though, that doesn’t stop any family from loving her with everything, but the mental strain of it all is more than anyone should deal with. Nick is kind soul. He blames himself for this and is constantly doing all he can to be there for everyone and put on this brave face, but he suffers inside. For a time, he went to therapy. Your sister almost killing you is a visceral experience. Getting him to sleep and take a break is like telling a fish not to swim. He is pretty open about this though, which helps a lot. It’s just...how do convince somehow they’re good enough when they think they’re not?
Ruby and Blake:You can’t....
Weiss:Exactly. It’s so...*tearing up* How am I failing at helping my kids worse than my own mother?
Yang:And that’s where I draw the line. *stands up* Now I can’t begin to fathom dealing with a a situation like this, and what I’m about to say is gonna be a little hypocritical but I really don’t care. Weiss, the last thing you are is a bad mother. I could tell immediately from the way you are that there hasn’t been a single as a parent that you haven’t made a choice without your kids in mind. I get feeling like there’s a gap that disconnects you from there; but the fact you keep your arms stretched out to bridge it makes you mother of the year in my eyes! Don’t believe for a second you’re a bad mother. Your the gold standard!
The room filled with silence for a moment. Weiss felt a lump form in her throat as she fought back tears that she eventually had to wipe away. She tried letting out a small laugh, but with it came more tears that ran down her face. Weiss couldn’t tell if it was from Yang’s words, or the stress. All she knew was that right now, she felt very thankful for being here.
Weiss:Damn it Yang, making me cry is something you’ve always been good at. Maybe that’s why I look up to you so much?
Yang:*red* Y-You what?
Weiss:My Yang, I downplayed just how much I adore her. Her daughter, Veronica, she’s got her fair share problems that stresses Yang out, but I never see her stop trying to connect with her. Even when she’s sad it’s like it’s only for a second, then you’re trying twice as hard. It’s amazing. If I’m being honest, and this is embarrassing, but I kinda picked up a mother from you. You’ve always been a bit motherly.
Ruby:She’s right.
Blake:Mom energy since day one.
Yang:Really? *rubs head* I was just being myself. Never really thought about it. Now then, wipe those tears! It’s upsetting that you look pretty why you cry. Meanwhile I look like a hot mess, and not in the fun way.
Weiss:*wiping face* Oh please, I don’t wanna hear that from someone who’s never needed make up. Those genes of your went to Veronica. Kids a genuine beauty. She’s just angry all the time.
Yang:Yeah that sounds appropriate... Weird to think I have a daughter that’s not Yujin. Wish I could see her.
Blake:Me too. Though I think I’d be overwhelmed seeing all my different kids. I’d probably want them all.
Ruby:My hands are full with ones I have and I wouldn’t say I’m juggling them well, so I don’t need other kids from universes. I’d be so stressed.
Weiss:Especially if they’re violent.
Ruby:Yeah, that would bad....
Weiss:Phew, I do feel a bit better. Even though I said all those things, my family still had good times. It’s not tense and we joke around like everyone else. As a family, we’re happy. We just have shit we gotta sort through.
Blake:Rich or poor, life has certain things that hit everyone. Is Jaune doing well.
Weiss:Yeah, he gets through to Summer pretty well, and he’s typically calm when it comes to giving guidance. He had his fears, but that’s why I’m here. We confide in each other.
Blake:May you and everyone else find a light at the end of the tunnel.
Ruby:Hey Weiss. Does....actually, never mind. Forget it.
Yang:We both know that’s not happening. Spit it out.
Ruby:I was just about Shiva. I’ve encountered weird things in my world, but this is unique. I was wondering if you have any positive experience with her.
Weiss:Not a single one. Here since of enjoyment in the displeasure of my children is a thing we disagree on. Though....her eyes, they do throw me off. For some reason, they don’t match her joy.
Blake:Maybe that part is still Summer. Eyes are the window to the soul and all that jazz.
Weiss:Maybe? I hope the kids are okay right now. I wonder what they’re up to?
xxxxx
Summer:WHAT’S UP VALE!!!!!!!!
A massive crowd screams “what’s up Summer”in excitement. Flashing lights and chanting fans’s voices make the sold out venue shake with their passion. Summer can only bask in it. There’s no better feeling than when she’s on stage. She looks to herself excitedly. This one was extra special. Nick comes out on stage with a base around him and a second microphone.
Nick:WE CAN’T HEAR YOU!!!!
The crowd chants louder. Summer responds by starting a rift on her guitar. She faces Nick with a smug look. Yes, having him on stage is always a joy, but that didn’t mean Summer wanted him hindering or stealing the show.
Summer:Well look who’s here!? Atlas’s favorite son! Think you’re ready to play with the kids up here. This isn’t your normal stage.
Nick smiled. He responded by playing the bass and letting the audience speak for him. Summer was chessing fool. Slowly she bopped up and down, urging him to do the same. It wasn’t long before they in sync. Drums, piano, and other background musicians began building up the tune as planned. The twins whipped around to face the crowd.
🎶Get down! We won't let you go!
This time, can you bring us down?
Back up! fly far through the sky
BLACK ROVER!
Let's go! All together now
And at last this world can't slow us down
For now, let's dye it all in black
BLACK ROVER!🎶
The two stood back to back...
🎶As more join and stand beside me,
The void doesn't feel so empty!!!!!
I know there is much more in store
Let's open that door -!🎶
Nick looked over his shoulder and saw Summer doing the same thing. This was gonna be one for the books. Jaune watched from backstage with one of the stagehands.
Stagehand:Should we tell them to save their energy? This charity event is six hours.
Jaune:Nah, let them have fun.

Honestly at this point I want Salem to come kick ass, tell RWBYJNR "y'all literally have no high ground to stand on here's the power point why" and then she wins. Salem taking out the world has got to be better that this BS they have now. If RWBYJNR are the future, just kill it please.
The tragedy here is that they are good people doing their best to remain good. To my mind making mistakes---even horrific ones---doesn’t erase that. We just need the story to overtly acknowledge each side of this issue. The story itself, not the fandom’s interpretation of it. Ozpin is not the devil for making mistakes during his very long run of trying to Remnant. Likewise the group are not saints just because they fall into Western heroic tropes like “young upstarts destined to do better than their predecessors.” We could have gotten a fantastic deconstruction of the hero and how in a situation like the one Rooster Teeth has created everyone goes “bad” in one way or another if they have any hope of winning. That doesn’t mean they’re not also good. Characters are at their best when they’re given the chance to try things with good intentions, fail at that spectacularly, realize their mistake, do what they can to make up for it, and then do better the next time around---but RWBY isn’t providing space for any of that. Ozpin has remained the group’s punching bag for almost two whole volumes now. The group has not faced a single consequence for any of their own iffy choices, despite making the exact same ones as Ozpin.
Either of these issues alone would be bad enough, but put together you get a situation where you really do side-eye the label of “hero.” They’re not anywhere near Salem’s level of “I want to destroy the world/get my kicks by abusing my ex,” but with each episode they’re edging just a teeny tiny bit closure. What if we beat on Ozpin and showed absolutely no remorse? What if we casually played with the possibility that Ironwood may unintentionally kill huge swaths of the world in an effort to complete a quest we know is doomed, then laugh about that afterwards when we randomly decide to tell him? All of which, again, isn’t necessarily a bad thing from a storytelling perspective. Give me really flawed protagonists. Give me protagonists making those sacrifices. The ones who can’t afford to stick to any noble intentions---that ideal world they’d dearly love to be a part of but that simply doesn’t exist---who decide to sacrifice cities in the name of saving the world. Let them stand their ground, face criticism, and likewise receive praise. Acknowledge that there’s no right or easy answer here. That shit is interesting. We just need the story to acknowledge that blurry, gray morality. Not an endless stream of, “Ironwood and Ozpin are untrustworthy, dangerous people but Ruby and her friends are little angels.” Because that is what the text tells us. Optimistic fans often interpret it differently (Ruby still loves Ozpin, Blake and Yang must feel guilty over their new secret, Ironwood is definitely angry about all this he just hasn’t had the chance to show it yet)... but we don’t see any of that. It doesn’t exist in the show, only in the fandom’s re-reading of the show because it’s instinct to assume that things aren’t as bad as they appear. That’s not what the show really gave us because that would be stupid. Obviously it must be this instead.

jaunes true color theme is  gold
jaunes inspiration is joan of arc and jaunes character theme is joan of arc who had heard voices from god and received messages from him and visions from him and followed gods will joan of arc was guided by the light of god to lead the French army though I doubt it so it would fit for jaune to have a connection to the god of light plus joan of arc was a saint and saints are a person who is recognized as having an exceptional degree of holiness or likeness to God.  and its said that the street of heven are paved with gold and its akin to the yellow brick road
There’s the color you think he is, the color he lives up to, it’s a lot of stuff. -Monty in Forever Fall commentaries which implys that yellow which jaune means isnt his true color theme
and monty said jaunes color theme is different from the rest of his family and jaunes family symbol is the rainbow so its fitting if jaunes familys colors are the colors of the rainbow   . arc en ciel is french for rainbow
and jaune has 7 sisters so its fitting if  jaunes seven sisters colors are the colors of the rainbow ( including yellow )
while  jaunes true color theme being different from the others  is  gold
jaune is rubys foil
hawkeyedflame . tumblr . com/post/152581160728/on-rubys-elusive-character-development-or-why
“ jaune is a foil To Ruby. She’s a prodigy who quickly became a deadly warrior at a young age and is welcomed into Beacon two years early as a result while Jaune is a hard worker who progresses slowly and had to lie his way into Beacon because of his nonexistent combat background. Ruby is a strategist specialized on pre-defined team attacks and wields a self-made weapon capable of long range combat. Jaune is a tactician specialized in creating new team attacks according to his analysis on the battlefield and wields a family heirloom only capable of close range combat. Ruby has a rather broken family but they fully support her decision to become a huntress while Jaune’s family is large and united but they don’t support his choices nor have any faith on him. Ruby is a tomboy who dominates the battlefield but doesn’t enjoy dancing whereas Jaune tends to act girly and is initially terrible at fighting but also a great dancer. The more you look into them as a pair, the more contrasts that can be spotted in the details.”
jaune has a more “feminine way of dealing with emotions” while ruby has the more masculine way of dealing with emotions
aminoapps . com/c/rwby/page/blog/why-its-good-for-jaunes-semblance-to-be-a-support-type/xpp7_XQ4s2u6RGX2zboa6JwM2XMekWGZd68
“Joan of Arc is known for breaking gender stereotypes about what it meant to be a woman. And if you think about it in a lot of ways Jaune doesn’t fit into the stereotypical “man box.” We are don’t “men don’t cry.” He wears his emotions on his sleeve. While in the real world men (and in the world of RWBY BOTH men and women ARGUABLY) are told to be strong. And that many people superficially equate physical strength with heroism (Raven?) it is fitting that Jaune’s semblance doesn’t so much doesn’t so much empower himself, as it empowers others. (as well as himself but its more effective on others in the team since they are more skilled than him) The so called “Feminine” strength.” P.S. Hmm as a follow-up to my The Importance Of Foils Part 2 post. I think that Ruby, despite being a girl, fits into the “man box” better than anyone else including it’s UNHEALTHY WAYS OF DEALING WITH EMOTIONS. The only difference is on remnant, it’s not because a man doesn’t cry. But because “a hero doesn’t cry.”
ruby first activated her silver eyes leading to her to learn about them when she saw pyrrha jaunes partner impaled by cinder and burnt to ash failing to save pyrrha  her awakening being in reaction to her death while jaune activated his semblance and realized what it was when he saw rubys partner weiss  impaled by cinder and  was able to save her  life awakening his semblance to do so allowing him to learn what his semblance was ( which is a good example this is an example of them being foils  and how its been shown and effected their storys )
@luminous777 “  It would play into how he and ruby are opposites in many of their character traits.  Ruby's color scheme is red her hair cloak and clothes, black clothes and silver eyes and accessories. Jaune gold hair and accents, white armor, and Blue eyes and pants.
Tumblr media
so  ruby and jaune silver and gold
and while
( and old thought I had  maybe when jaune uses his aura amplification on himself his eyes turn gold we never got to see jaunes eyes when he uses aura amplification himself consistently and thats what happens when tyrian uses his semblance )
and the god of lights complexion is a softly glowing light gold
In his draconic form, while his complexion remains the same, his horns become whiter, longer, and more streamlined and his voice deepens considerably. His body is long and serpentine, like that of a real-world Eastern traditional dragon. He possesses a long mane of golden hair that runs the length of his body, forming a plume at the tip of his tail as well as rather extensive facial hair that terminates in two feathery tipped whiskers
so it fits for jaune who is based off a saint ( whose definitions include a likeness to god ) having a gold theme

jaune and tyrians  auras when they activate their semblances have the same   color as the god of light  presided over creation/life  ) and dark ( who had presided over destruction/death and created things related to that)  respectively and this is fitting given their semblances jaunes is protective and helps heal and protect someones life by imparting his own aura on to someone   and amplifying their aura    while tyrians semblance is meant to help him tear through someones  aura through aura weakening drastically weakening the aura in the places he strikes  make the person easier to kill

RWBY Theory: Nicholas Schnee (Weiss’ grandfather) was an incarnation of Ozma
Tumblr media
Feel free to disagree with me, but I have the sneaking suspicion that Nicholas Schnee, Weiss’ maternal grandfather and the founder of Schnee Dust Company may have been on of Ozma’s incarnations.  I don’t have a lot of information to go off of, but from what I do know about Nicholas Schnee, there’s a good amount of compelling evidence to back up my theory.
Let’s start at the basics shall we?  Who was Nicholas Schnee?  Well the following information is paraphrased from The World of Remnant: The Schnee Dust Company so its all canon.
Nicholas Schnee was born right after the Great War in Remnant ended.  He attended Atlas Academy, and using his own meager inheritance and knowledge he discovered new Dust mines in Atlas and founded the Schnee Dust Company.  The Dust Company stabilized Atlas (formerly Mantle’s) economy, which had been damaged as Mantle’s natural resources had been depleted from war and over-consumption.  Originally the Schnee Dust Company, was reputable and trustworthy (unlike it is in the present).  Schnee personally ran mining expeditions, and workers rights were cared for.  Working in the mines, however, caused Schnee some health issues.  As a result, he died of health complications, and his son-in-law, (that buttface) Jacques Schnee managed to convice Nicholas to let him inherit the company.
So why was Ozma Jacques Schnee?
Well, logically, Jacques impact on the culture, military, and politics of Remnant seemed to REALLY support Ozma’s task for humanity and his personally added on goal of defeating Salem.  The Schnee Dust Company, firstly, creates political and social peace.  How?  Well, Remnant’s Great War is vaguely reminiscent of World War I in the sense that it started as a relatively minor dispute (in our world the Serbian rebels assainating Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary, and for Remnant the conflict between Vale and Mantle over colonizing the Vytal Islands) and turning to a full scale global war.  If we take that similarity and extend it to Remnant, Remnant should have had a World War I and a World War II to match, but why didn’t it?  The answer is: Ozma.  Canonicaly, we know he was involved in fair political peacemaking strategies as the King of Vale (Woodrow Wilson-ing things up in Remnant), but that fails to address other issues that could create conflict in the future. Economics is one of the main creators of conflict, and as a result of the war (as I mentioned earlier) Mantle had depleted its few resources.  Finding the Schnee Dust Company strengthened political ties between Atlas and the rest of Remnant.  Globalization is one of the best ways to maintain stability.  So, the Schnee Dust Company united mankind.  How else did it aid Ozma’s mission?  Well, Dust is ancient magic left over from before the Gods left Remnant, and it aids fighting against Grimm.  So, basically, he equipped hunters and huntresses across Remnant to better fight Grimm hence getting rid of Salem’s force and better protecting the relics in the Huntsmen Academies.
I admit this seems a bit loose.  It COULD be a coincidence with just the above analysis, but there’s more canon information to analyze for this theory.  In Volume 6 Chapter 3, we see some of Ozma’s incarnations as Jinn tells his story.  The last one shown, the one who learns that he cannot defeat Salem.  Here’s his picture:
Tumblr media
So, to me he looks like a business man.  Oz is rocking a stache, a suit and tie...  Sure that’s pretty generic, but when we think of business-y people, who do we think of?  The Schnee Dust Company.  Additionally, we know this incarnation exists between the King of Vale and Ozpin.  Why?  Well, the relic appears to be locked up safe.  The relic had to be pretty secure, which means it was likely in the school vault in Mistral (I’m willing to debate this point, however).  The guy also looks like he could bare a family resemblance to Weiss.  He’s got palish skin and light blue eyes, a traits of the Schnee family.  Nicholas’ name also sort of fits the Oz name scheme as the “Oz” sound is present in the last syllable of Nicholas.
Additionally, Ozma’s realization of Salem’s immortality sits well with some logic about Nicholas Schnee’s characterization.  At the end of his life, the businessman suffered from illness and made the poor decision to let Jacques succeed him in leading the company.  Well, what if Nicholas wasn’t debilitated by illness but a crisis in hope?  If Nicholas was an incarnation of Ozma, he would be stricken and extremely distracted by Jinn’s revelation about Salem.  This could have Nicholas to act rashly.  He could have overworked himself in the mines, falling ill, and with his mind on Salem, given Jacques control of the company.
(Edit: An issue with the point that the businessman is Ozma as Nicholas Schnee was brought up by harpo-groucho in the comments.  Essentially, I forgot Ozma had all the relics as King of Vale.  So, the business man probably isn’t Nicholas Schnee.  However, this doesn’t necessarily mean Ozma wasn’t Nicholas Schnee, mainly that the incarnation we were shown wasn’t.  Thank you harpo-groucho for the clarification!)
There’s also some evidence linking Ozma to Nicholas Schnee outside of the story of RWBY.  It lies in who Nicholas is based on: Saint Nicholas - or Santa Claus as Santa Claus.
At the basis of the figure of Santa Claus or Saint Nicholas (it doesn’t matter which one), is the concept of gift giving.  Santa Claus gives gifts to children.  Nicholas Schnee gave the gift of dust tor Remnant.  Ozma protects the Gods’ gifts and gave the maidens his own magical gifts.  However. there are more uncanny connections to Ozma and Good Ol’ Saint Nicholas.
Saint Nicholas was actually a bishop in what is now modern day Turkey.  In the Catholic Church, he is the patron saint of a bunch of things including sailors, merchants, archers, repentant thieves, children, brewers, pawnbrokers.  He’s essentially a jack of all trades; he’s taken up a lot of roles, like Ozma.  Saint Nicholas is also known to have performed many miracles, earning him the title “The Wonderworker” (the Wizard of Oz, or Ozpin is also regarded as “wonderful” in the movie).  The most famous story about Saint Nicholas is of when he gifted three sisters with bags of gold as their family was poor and unable to pay their dowries.  Ozma also gifted a group of four sisters canonically in the Story of the Four Maidens.  As a bishop, Nicholas also carried a staff, kind of like Ozma’s staff or Ozpin’s cane.
I’m aware that this theory isn’t perfect.  Like, why didn’t Weiss recognize her grandfather in Jinn’s vision.  Well, I guess that can be explained as maybe she saw pictures of her grandfather when he was older or in paintings which could be unreliable.  (Edit: marithlizard also mentioned that Ozma would consider Weiss as his grandaughter.  I can see that argument, but I would like the point out that Ozma has been reincarnating for thousands of years and has probably learned to better move on from one life to another.  He may have an internal struggle over considering Weiss his granddaughter, but this is Ozpin we’re talking about.  He’s REALLY good at keeping stuff hidden.  I guess Jinn would have brought it up when Ruby asked her question, but also I don’t think Ozpin was hellbent on hiding he was related to Weiss compared to the other things he was hiding like Salem, the relics, magic, etc.  Thank you for your point though marithlizard!  It was fun to think about!)   This is a small flaw in the grander scheme of things, however.  I for one, am pretty confident in this theory (80% sure).  However, if it never gets discussed in RWBY I’ll just keep it as headcanon in my brain.
Bye!  Please feel free to reply with your thoughts on this theory or reblog if you find this sufficiently interesting to debate about.

RWBY Rewrite: The Schnee Family
Hello there everybody! Welcome to the third post in this undetermined number of RWBY Rewrites posts because at this point anyone who is watching RWBY for the story clearly needs to get their head checked. I debated the topic for this one for a while and have now settled on getting to one of our most prominent families in Remnant: the Schnees.
Being the ones in charge of the Schnee Dust Company, which supplies the majority of Remnant’s Dust, as well as being Weiss’ family, it makes sense that the show would give them focus. Unfortunately, the Schnee family as well as many other elements in the show have fallen victim to the time crunch of the writers juggling too many things at a time. It’s honestly a miracle that Weiss’ character is written as well as it is. In fact, it is the best written of the four girls (though not without its issues) and part of that is due to her collection of songs. Though in my opinion, you could argue that the soundtrack does a better job of telling the story than the actual show.
In this post, I’m going to be going over Weiss’ immediate family as well as her grandfather. As of now, I’ve been thinking of rewriting RWBY in five main arcs: Vale, Mistral, Atlas, Vacuo, and the Final Showdown. The family would be set up in the first two arcs with them getting most of their conclusions in the Atlas Arc, mostly regulated to cameos or mentioned in passing afterwards.
Nicholas Schnee
The founder of the Schnee Dust Company, outside of that WOR video, we honestly don’t know much about him and that makes sense considering that Nicholas most likely died before the beginning of the series. Considering my Rewrite series would throw out those videos, I would keep Nicholas regulated to mentions of Schnee Dust Company past and potential flashbacks in Atlas.
However, I would add one thing to his characterization that I think would tie into Weiss’ journey pretty well. Weiss, especially at the beginning of the series, strives for perfection in all that she does. Above all, she definitely looks up to her grandfather’s example. During a time in Atlas when she’s at her lowest, with her father’s icy words piercing her mind, the hateful looks of the Faunus directed at her, she despairs at ever living up to her grandfather’s legacy. Only to talk with someone (currently I’m thinking Professor Polendina) who personally knew her grandfather who would tell her that Nicholas was by no means perfect. He was a very warm, good hearted, jolly man, but he would occasionally let out a rather racist remark and had a rather explosive temper. Contrary to the SDC image, he wasn’t a saint. That said, his views were actually pretty progressive for his day in terms of his business practices and his treatment towards the Faunus. Ultimately, Weiss would learn that while her grandfather was by no means perfect, he never stopped trying to better himself.
Jacques Schnee
You know, I have to give credit where credit is due: Jacques is actually pretty well written. Okay, he’s not the pinnacle of how to write an parental antagonist, but his role in the story and his at least emotionally abusive relationship with Weiss is actually pretty well done. It helps that he’s not completely talk, his actions also do reflect on this such as cutting Weiss off, forcibly carting her home after the fall of Beacon, his grip on Weiss at the party as well as his smacking of her afterwards, and even disinheriting her and keeping her under house arrest until she gives into his demands. Yet above all, he is a cut throat businessman who will use anything to benefit him. It’s a good example of how just because someone in a story is not a good person does not necessarily mean that they are a bad character.
Honestly, the most I’d change with him is make it more apparent in the show of how he uses everyone beneath him for his benefit (going back to the Atlas Corruption theme I had last post). Show people protesting outside SDC Headquarters or better yet show the dust mines and how dangerous they are to the workers especially without the necessary safety measures which Jacques is cutting back on in order to make as much profit as possible.
Another change I would make is in the Atlas Arc is that Jacques tries to get Weiss back under his thumb, but can’t. By this point, Weiss would be legally an adult and therefore can’t be forced into anything. In fact, his disinheriting her ironically freed her as there’s nothing he can hold over her to make her fall back in line. His part of the plot would culminate in Jacques being in mortal peril, left alone by everyone (even Whitley, his favorite child) to die only for Weiss to step in. It would end with Weiss saving his life, but not saving him from the law and jail. He needs to pay for his crimes, not just his actions against her.
Winter Schnee
Much like Jacques, I don’t think Winter was written all that badly. I guess the only complaint is that I wish we could have gotten more mentions to their relationship before Volume 3. Personally, I also would have liked her to have been at the Argus base inspecting Cordovin and briefing her on the situation in Atlas, only to run into her sister and her friends and therefore avoiding one of the most poorly thought out plans in the show.
In this Rewrite, I would have Winter shoulder more responsibility in leadership and rise to the occasion. In regards to that, I would also have Qrow apologize for his actions to her. Much like Weiss has to prove her resolve to others, Winter eventually gets Qrow to realize he’s been judging her by associations and not her as an actual person. On the flipside, Winter would realize that Qrow’s problems and concerns with Ironwood aren’t entirely unfounded.
In the ending of the Atlas Arc, Ironwood will resign his positions as General and Headmaster, as will many others due to an inquiry of the Atlesian military as the deep routed corruption is being brought to task. And given his abuse of power, his council positions would be separated so as to prevent this situation from repeating. This, along with other events, would go to show that our heroes’ actions have consequences, for better or for worse. Ironwood’s general position would pass to a Rudolph Vermillion, a male reindeer Faunus who after the inquiry would be the person with the most military experience with a clean record(and partially for diversity) that the group would be interreacting with during the Atlas Arc. His headmaster title, however, would go to Winter as I feel she would actually do well in a teaching environment. And let’s face it, we only had three women in positions of power in the show: Glynda was treated as the clean up maid, Sienna got stabbed, and Cordovin is definitely not what I would call leadership material. Winter would continue to a pillar of support and offer the group her well wishes (as well as threaten Qrow to make sure her sister comes back in one piece.
Willow Schnee
I think that her name hasn’t been confirmed in the show, but I like it and I need something to call her so I will address Mama Schnee as Willow.
You know, I’m not really fond of the dead parent cliché, but this is one case that I honestly wouldn’t have minded if they had killed her off. She had never been mentioned prior to Volume 4 (much like my next entry) and with Winter seeming very parental in her treatment of Weiss, I’m pretty sure most of the FNDM assumed she was dead. Then it turned out that she was alive, with her making no physical appearance in the show and is basically made out to be an uncaring drunk. And such a thing wouldn’t necessarily be a bad idea if not for the fact that almost every mother in the show is either dead or terrible. We only have three good moms in the show and two thirds of them are a lesbian couple that was introduced after the halfway point last Volume.
Personally, I would keep her much more apparent in her children's lives. Being rather sad, maybe still have a little bit of too much alcohol from time to time, but make it clear that she does try to connect and be there for her children. This would lead to her kids viewing her in very different ways: Winter views her with scorn that she stays with Jacques while Whitley alters between ignoring her and seeking her comfort. Weiss would be the middle ground as she seeks to understand why Willow married Jacques and make her realize that she can leave him and there are people she can count on to help with that.
Which does lead to the reasons as to why Willow didn’t just divorce Jacques: half emotional abuse and half for her father and the company’s sake. As anyone who has been in an abusive relationship knows, it is very hard to leave when you get into it, especially if it feels like you don’t have anyone to help or support you. That is especially compounded when you consider that Jacques is the reason the SDC has managed to thrive and that a divorce of this kind might permanently damage the company. In fact, it would have been one of the main reasons she married Jacques and finding out how badly he took advantage of that power would be an utter shock to her. Her arc would be about her taking steps to get back to her old self and using her skills to aid others. She and Klein would watch over the company for Weiss (she never really had the skills or desire to take over the business, but realizes someone needs to watch over things for now) until she returns to take her place as the head of the SDC.
Whitley Schnee
If there is one character that has a significant divide in people’s opinion of them, it’s Whitley. Some people think of him as a potential victim of Jacques’ abuse while others think of him as a little shit. Personally, I lean towards the later as it seems Jacques does value Whitley (having a picture of him on his desk and none of his daughters and the family portrait has him smiling while everyone else looks very uncomfortable). Though to be honest, Jacques’ treatment of his children may be likely to get compliance to a degree, but unlikely to foster any genuine love and loyalty. So I get the impression that Whitley is not so much loyal to Jacques as loyal to his own interests and that is what I would play up.
Have him very much fall in line between Jacques in public and disparage his sisters, but show little hints of his true emotions when no one else is watching (either flashes of anger or impressed looks). A change I would have made in Volume 4 is him being there in the library as Weiss is leaving. Weiss would immediately assume he is there to stop her, but he is actually okay with her going. At this point, there’s no disadvantage to himself in letting her leave thus making him similar to Jacques in that he cares about his own interests first, but he’s not as controlling and is willing to let others do as they wish so long as they don’t interfere with his goals.
The Atlas Arc would involve him getting some snipes in at Weiss and her friends before getting a dose of reality in seeing exactly what a huntsman/huntress can do as well as watching the things he was sure would protect him fail and leave him vulnerable (like say, a White Fang assassination attempt). As such, he will abandon his father when things are at their most dire. After Weiss takes her heiress title back and takes over the company, that leaves the two with a very uncomfortable talk. Weiss does not like or trust her brother, but he is family and she would rather not have him as an enemy. So learning from her father’s strict control, she offers to pay for his education as well as a monthly stipend in exchange for signing a legal contract that he will not enter the SDC or join a competing dust company. Otherwise, he can do whatever he wants. There’s a bit of back and forth between the two of them ending with Whitley expressing genuine respect for his sister and wishing her well on her journey.
As for Klein, he is great as he is and I honestly wouldn’t change anything.
Those are my general thoughts on it. If you have anything to add, don’t hesitate to comment. Next time, I think I’ll be touching on a character that will be much more morally gray in this rewrite.

It is with great pleasure I get to show you all the V1 designs of Team RWBY in RWBY: Saints of Remnant
Which is part of the Emperor-Verse
The art was done by friend of mine by the name of Marcy_Bun check him out in the link! His art is dope!
I think my favorites among these four is Yang and Blake
Yang being a boxing martial arts cowgirl and Blake being a mix of a ninja and a pirate, the former on her late father’s side and the latter on her mother’s side
All works deliciously well given the origins of Remnant on this AU!
I might take cue from @sytokun and @neopoliitan and might take a visual direction with this and f I can find someone who will help in terms of character design!

The Emperor-Verse: RWBY: Saints of Remnant, a reimagined AU(More details in Keep Reading!)
Tumblr media
Once there was a world by the name of Omnibus. Created by the supreme deity The Author Allfather through the mysterious entity The Storyteller, this world was composed of four holy and mighty kingdoms, ruled by The Author’s Patron Saints whose reign protected the people, human and faunus alike, with their mighty armies, hunters, and their own holy powers from barbarian hordes, and the hordes of The Grimm who were the incarnations of hatred of the fallen seraph Grimmel The Black and his fellow fallen angels
In the dreadful world-shattering war of Ragnarök, the glorious age of Truth, Goodness, and Beauty, and the days of Romance, Heroism Adventure, and Eucatastrophe came to a tragic end.
Now all that remains is the world that is Remnant
But there is a prophecy made by Ozma The First Time Wizard before his death at the hands of The Witch-Emperor, that one day the bloodlines of the original Patron Saints and the families betrothed to them will return to take up these powers, rally armies of the righteous, vanquish the darkness and restore the holy kingdoms and Omnibus and reign over them once more.
Sinners will become Saints
Legends shall be restored and new Legends will be born
And what was a Remnant, Shall Be Whole Again.
But until then, the Hunters lead a struggling battle against the Grimm while the modern kingdoms suffer under corruption of all kinds, both to the benefit of darker forces who have horrifying intentions for the world.
Cue Ruby Rose and her older half-sister Yang Xiao Long, they are about to enter Beacon Academy after being approved by the eccentric Professor Ozpin Pine along with the heiress Weiss Schnee and the introverted faunus Blake Belladonna forming team RWBY
Ozpin has also enrolled a few other students and transferred others.
The former forming team JNPR, and the latter being Team SSSN of Haven Academy
Ozpin seems to have his eye on all of them, but what for?
Heavily inspired by CS Lewis's series The Chronicles of Narnia
Main Ships Contained:
RoseGarden
BlackSun
Iceberg/Arctic Water
Arkos
Renora
and some other ships
Also will contain unorthodox reimagining such as Adam Taurus(He's an initial antagonist turned good) and the White Fang and Jacques Schnee and the SDC with their Canon!Counterparts replaced with substitutes among other things
Currently the concept is in the works in a series of notes.
Details of the Emperor-Verse
Now I'm sure there's some questions you probably are all asking which I assume are the same questions as my blog
“Why are you using your Religion?”
Mostly due to it being a strong foundation, notably theology, for most of my stories, there are many strong foundations of storytelling, religion, history, you can even fantasize science if you put the imagination, time, and effort into it.
After doing some soul searching and listening to the Narnia books on Audible, it became another important element in making this au and I might include elements of CS Lewis’ Space Trilogy
This AU is set in my fictional Multiverse The Emperor-Verse which Narnia is implied to exist in, or I should say had existed in(its set after The Last Battle)
“Isn’t this kind of entitled and disrespectful?”
Disagreement isn’t necessarily malicious, and entitlement is not inherently bad if its your opinions and subjective feelings which people are entitled to.
Tolkien was heavily inspired by his distaste for how Shakespeare handled certain concepts, such as the Ents when he was upset and dissatisfied that there were no walking talking trees in the Enchanted Fortest of Macbeth, and the Valar Aule the Smith and the origin of the Dwarves make him something of an Anti-Prometheus
Not to mention Philip Pullman, the author of His Dark Materials Trilogy, made it out his distaste how CS Lewis made the Chronicles of Narnia and his overall beef with Christianity, and nobody seems to take issue with that.
I’m not saying the direction RWBY went with V3 or Pyrrha and the rest of the cast potentially ending tragically in some way or another is objectively bad, it was just not my taste
And I am not saying every normal RWBY fan/RWDE person who liked it is an elitist about it nor are all of them trying to insult me and attack me personally or say my ideas are bad
Nor I’m not trying to change canon or its “trajectory” , nor am I doing this to spite Monty, especially when I never knew the guy. This is a difference in handling ideas and concepts.
I’m doing my RWBY AU, which will most likely be revamped into an original story since it takes a whole different directions with the characters and world, but it's mostly because with post V3 and now in retrospect I saw what this world, characters, ships and other ideas could have been all in a story I believe is worth telling. And I was disappointed that it wasn’t.
I mean yeah it's also due to personal tastes and preferences and subjective feelings, at least I’ve been told, but I also try to integrate that in a meaningful way.
So I hope you all enjoy what I have to offer, which will most likely be put on AO3 and FanFiction.Net, and who knows, I might get a few artists to commission to redesign some characters or illustrate some scenes if anyone is up for it.

JNPR Headcanons (sorry, it's long)
•It’s obvious that Ren & Nora, and Jaune & Pyrrha are besties. But Ren & Jaune are bros while Nora & Pyrrha are like sisters
•Actually, the team is one family
•Edit: Everyone on this show has their own inner demons just like we do. They’re not perfect and they struggle with their own issues, team JNPR especially -Jaune really cares about what others think of him and works so hard to be a hero and lovable and kind -Nora is sort of the same way only her anxiety manifests itself as constantly moving and babbling. She really tries not to come off as a pest (& she isn’t) bc she doesn’t want anymore people leaving her (bc they always do). Sometimes the words of others effect her more than she let’s on (which leads to issues w/ her & Ren later in their relationship) -Pyrrha cares more about people seeing her for who she really is. She not a trophy that’s won. She’s not a centerpiece. She’s Pyrrha -Ren doesn’t really try to be more sociable. He knows that his quietness comes off as being shy, but those who know him know that he simply doesn’t have much to say. He does make his opinions known, though, and when he speaks more, you know that he thinks you’re trustworthy. His main issue is talking about what’s wrong. He gets so silent when he’s upset or angry. The only person that can crack him is his best friend.
•Jaune & Ren take turns being the dad (Jaune is Daddy Jaune in battle, Ren is Daddy Ren any other time)
•Pyrrha is mommy all the time
•When Jaune sees Nora, he thinks of one of his younger sisters & it makes him feel a bit less homesick
•Nora loves getting the team to do crazy shit like JNPR tattoos, sky diving, & swimming w/ Grimm sharks
•Speaking of tats -They all have a JNPR tat with juniper berries & one of their emblem -Nora has lighting bolts, boop, & a syrup bottle -Jaune has a heart with ‘Arc Family’ on it -Ren has the date of the attack on his village & Nora’s emblem -Pyrrha has ‘Destiny’ written in a flower and her kids names
•As stated before, Nora & Pyrrha’s periods sync up and their boys handle it well
•Jaune bc he has sisters who go through the same thing & Ren bc he’s been with Nora forever
•Nora likes cuddles, heat, massages, sleep, & food during that time. She’s actually kind of of quiet during that time & a little more mopey
•Pyrrha is very irritable during that time and enjoys solitude unless she’s w/ Nora
•Birds of a feather suffer together
•The dress Jaune wore is actually Coco’s
•Bets get insane, esp when RWBY, CVFY, & SSSN are involved
•They do tons of partner sparring, but they love team sparring (every man for themselves)
•Nora & Pyrrha are the most well rounded with everyone else’s weapons, Ren coming after, & Jaune is last
•Pyrrha is the first awake to run, Nora gets up no later than 7 every morning, Jaune trudges along, Ren sleeps in bc fuck mornings
•They do team studying a lot which entails quizzes with candy for those who get questions right and punishment for getting it wrong
•It’s the only way Jaune or Nora will study for anything
•Jaune & Nora aren’t dumb. Jaune genuinely doesn’t get it sometimes and gets bored in class. Nora is smart, but lazy
•Pyrrha’s favorite class is Port’s. His lectures are interesting
•Jaune’s favorite class is… probably none… he’s not doing well in any right now…
•Nora’s favorite classes are Oobleck’s (watching him zip around is fun), Peach’s (science and explosions), Goodwitch’s (fighting), & her math class
•She’s a wiz at math
•Ren enjoys Port’s and Goodwitch’s classes
•They have a system where they copy Pyrrha’s notes if they miss something (they’re detailed af)
•Pyrrha is easily scared and reacts a little violently (punching shit) and she doesn’t do supernatural shit ever
•Edit: they’re all pretty chill about hanging around the dorm in undies and bras (it took Jaune some time, though)
•Jaune & Nora are DC fans. Ren & Pyrrha are Marvel fans. All enjoy X-ray and Vav
•They totally go to comic cons, cosplay, & gaming conventions together. You cannot tell me otherwise
•Passing the aux chord isn’t normally an issue until someone (Nora and Jaune) starts playing showtunes & rapping to Hamilton
•Ren is the only one who appreciates Yang’s puns
•Jaune & Ren are skilled cooks and normally don’t allow Pyrrha or Nora to help, but they do sometimes cut veggies and stir (Nora, stop adding spices right now! Pyrrha, do you even know what oregano is?)
•Jaune loves dead memes & is still raving about deez nuts & Harambe
•The group chat on ChatSnap is a total mess & any important info gets burried under memes, selfies, and videos -Nora’s CS is mostly pictures of her team & friends -Ren’s is filled with professional photos w/ some deep caption -Pyrrha’s is clumsily trying to figure what she’s doing -Jaune has awkward selfies & recordings of Pyrrha when she’s off guard
•Sailors!!! -Nora isn’t as bad as Yang or Qrow, but she’s no saint with cursing -Ren doesn’t curse… out loud -Jaune doesn’t unless he’s irritated -You’d have to really push Pyrrha past her breaking point to get her to say fuck
•Edit: they totally have a naughty jar for swearing & making inappropriate jokes
•Edit: Nora is the go to person for charging scrolls, but is also the person to break them
•Edit: I like to think that she could be a defibrillator
•They often spend holiday break with Jaune’s family
•Ren, Nora, & Pyrrha have practically been adopted into the family
•Jaune’s older sisters work hard to get them all paired together-together
•If Pyrrha gets hurt, Jaune is worried but he’s not freaking out. He knows she can handle herself
•If Nora is hurt, Ren cannot focus & goes on a killing spree
•Jaune & Ren’s bro time is spent cooking, watching anime, or just talking
•They went to the doubles round during their 2nd year at Beacon -Nora & Pyr the first year
•They mostly enjoy video games! -Jaune is more into games like Myth of Welda, Remnant Bound, Underneath Remnant tale (totally uncreative), & trivia games -Pyrrha likes the games at the arcade where you shoot stuff & party games (Xario Cart, Xario Partee, and Xario and Tonic at the Extremely Hard & Profesional Games) -Nora likes anything violent (esp GTA) -Ren doesn’t play very often, but is a God at rhythm/dance games (with Nora, those two are unbeatable & always get a perfect score)
•Drinking -Nora is energetic, a little destructive after a few, & cannot hold her liquor -Pyrrha is seductive af, but she rarely gets that far. Only once or twice -Jaune is sleepier & clingy -Ren very rarely drinks & can hold it exceedingly well
•Team bonding is normally spent watching a movie with pizza and cookies, bowling, arcades, or going out to dinner
•All team activities are classified as a double date when they’re dating
•Renora dated first, then Arkos
•There was a brief period where Nora actually broke up with Ren & Pyrrha was with her while Ren was with Jaune until they figured things out (I may write something on it later)
•However, it was Arkos that got married first
•The team are maids of honor & best men at each other’s weddings
•Pyrrha laced her bouquet with metal to control where it landed after she threw it (Nora “caught” it) -Ren proposed soon after in a quieter place
•If the couples argue, one normally goes to the other couple’s house to vent and cool down before going home
•Renora had 3 kids: Kensley, Ming, & Iman (adopted)
•Arkos had twins Louise & Eros
•Before the kids came, they went on team missions very often. After they’re all out of the house, they start again
•They also go on partner missions & swap who goes with who each time (Jaune/Nora, Ren/Pyrrha, couples, guys, girls)
•They often go on family vacations together & celebrate holidays because they’re one big family
•Pyrrha & Nora retire to teach at Signal
•Jaune & Ren join them soon afterwards

RWBY Saints of Remnant Notes: Should the SDC and Jacques be bad guys? Or one of the few Good Guys amongst corruption in Atlas?
Tumblr media
DISCLAIMER: This post contains is a radically reimagined Jacques Schnee and SDC in a positive light in a heavily reimagined RWBY AU and has cliche tropes such as "dead mom" which I intend to complement with as "dead dad" of another family, if Canon Jack and SDC has given you a permanent bad taste in your mouth along with Canon Adam Taurus, I understand, this is an AU, just please do not come in with bad faith and ignore me instead.
Said AU is connected to The Emperor-Verse
I'm writing down notes and my gut just wants to make Jacques redeemable, but given how much damaged he has done to others, both his family and an entire people, that seems to heavy of a task without him ending up dead. But that was when I rebooted it by the end of V3.
But making this a hard reboot from the beginning then it hit me, and you do not have to agree with this at all...
What if instead of the SDC and Mr. Schnee being part of Atlasian corruption...
They along with James and the Atlas Military/Academy are the only few good individuals and institutions in Atlas, and both are paying the price for it from their upper class peers?
What if instead of Jacques being this opportunistic conman, he is Nicholas' biological son, and a former huntsmen in his youth who was on the same team as James Ironwood who served as his leader and who Weiss and Winter fondly call “Uncle Jim”, basically to them what Qrow is to Yang and Ruby
Jacques stuck to his father's principles and has managed to uphold The Schnee Dust Company as one of the few ethical businesses in regards to the Faunus, as well as providing support to other ethical businesses in the northern kingdom, mostly forming genuine friendships with their owners, and refused to outsource labor and resources when everyone else in Atlas did.
But as a result, James and Jacques are being ganged up on left and right by the upper class.
The only reason the Atlas establishment has tolerated Jack and his company for so long because the Kingdom was heavily dependent on them along with other companies for Dust and other goods and products, until recently with a growing unethical conglomerate run by Dr. Gray(Watts) with his mega-corporation GigaWatts Incorporated(Think OCP from Robocop and Lexcorp from DC), and plans on getting rid of the SDC and becoming the kingdoms new source of manufactured goods, tech, and labor, including dust mining and GWI is known for unethical use for Faunus labor in both the mines and factories.
Though I might just toss the Faunus Racism thing given how much of a mess it is and rework the WF for something else and have Atlas Upper Class replacing well-paying jobs with robots to keep the lower classes underpaid, or I could try something with both, need input on that.
Buy anyway, The SDC used to be big, but not in a megacorporation way. The SDC was one of the top four successful companies in Remnant back in the day(because 4 is the magic number in RWBY), and as I said before, Jack had made partnerships with other businesses both in his homeland and a few in other kingdoms during trips with his family, but its very few and Jack had made genuine friendships with the owners. He never stripped the human element out of his business.
You could say GWI is a large-scale "Evil Queen" figure
While the SDC is a large-scale "Snow White" figure, in more ways than one, but that's once again another story for another day.
Now GWI is overshadowing them at an accelerated rate with hundreds of Atlasian corporate companies joining it in exchange for Watt’s technology as well as Atlas Military’s higher ups hiring Watts to develop their military technology and last but not least outsourcing Dust Mining to the likes of Vaccou and Jacques and James are the only few who suspect Watts’ whole campaign being a “snake oil” tactic for something insidious as Arthur has all of the upper class eating out of the palm of his hand.
Meanwhile the likes of the White Fang and other kingdoms see Jack, SDC, James and The Atlas Military as just a bunch of rich pricks due to being part of the upper class(millionaires though, not billionaires, and even that’s dwindling now), seeing Jack and Jim as "one of them"
and understandably so mind you, given the rest of Atlas’ actions, but also because the current leader Rina Kumokage is lumping them in deliberately to distract the other members and branches(North, West, and South to be exact) of her own selfish and twisted intentions for the White Fang among other things
Though the White Fang itself seems to be in the hands of corrupt individuals in their neck of the woods. With the likes of Blake and Adam seeking to root it out, Adam being a little too aggressive in his means while Blake seeks outside help, which has strained their brother-sister relationship.
Spoiler alert, the corruption of The White Fang is not from Adam but a new character, Adam isn't the bad guy or a psychopath.
In this AU Adam is more like a cross between Fall of Cybertron Grimlock and Zuko, but he's another post for another day.
But anyway, the persecution of the SDC by the rest of the Atlasian upper class has gotten so bad, radical anti-Faunus militia Kriegsratten Korps aka “The Rats”(they allude to the Rats in The Nutcracker and mixed with Wolfenstein Nazis) and most likely be members of the Atlas Military throughout the ranks supplied with tech from GWI even secretly supported the corrupt council and big business, start attacking the SDC mines killing Schnee family members for being “faunus lickers”, one of them being Jack’s wife Anastasia(both alluding to the Russian Princess, and Snegurochka a Russian fairy tale character) while James struggles to provide the mines and family security while being undermined by higher-ups.
Yes I know dead mom is cliche but I plan on complementing(is that the right word?) it with Blake losing her own father Ghira and leaving her mother, Noire(aka Kali), widowed. And I have a reason for that later on down the road.
Also Jacques isn't a monster, he just isn't a perfect parent and seems cold on the surface, but its mostly due the burden he bares of being a single parent, and upholding a noble family legacy, giving Faunus descent and honest work, and holding out with other businesses he’s made partnerships with. Their something of a resistance group against GWI.
All with countless of peers trying to sabotage him and James to the point its claimed his family and lover, all of which is straining his relationship with his daughters and his former teammates, James in particular. Plus losing his father at an early age and the board of directors forcing him to become CEO caused him to develop anxiety issues with only his mother and girlfriend and later on wife and children keeping him sane.
James and Jacques together allude to “Atlas” with a great burden weighing down on their shoulders they struggle to hold it up
He's a bit too harsh on Weiss with her huntress training(ie the White Trailer) but in order to defend herself against assassins, and sends her off to Vale in hopes she would be safer there(relatively speaking.)
But the way he does it comes off to Weiss as her father not caring about her other than making her a trophy for his own reputation and being out of his way otherwise, and HOO-BOY don't get me started with how pissed Winter is with him.
Like I said, if all of this you can't vibe with because its supposed to be Jacques and Canon Jacques along with Canon Adam has put a permanent bad taste in your mouth, thats fine, I feel the same about other characters in other stories. No judgement.
I plan on making a post to dive deeper into Jack, but I will say he's primarily Jack Frost, but his secondary allusion to "The Nutcracker"
I'm also recycling this concept for my own original works, not sure what exactly, but something.
