Every single Blake song we’ve had (From Shadows, Like Morning Follows Night, This Time, Nevermore) is a duet. She’s both Beauty and Beast and human and cat. Her original designs were all black and white working together. She uses a dual blade weapon. At first she was partners with Adam but ended up being partners with Yang (on top of that she’s been set up as part of a Sun/Moon and light vs dark pairing a couple of times, both with Yang and Sun). She’s the one to help Nora realise that her whole existence doesn’t mean Ren, and that he’s only a part of her that she can balance out and exist as herself within. Hell her and Yang are set up to contrast each other with their Haven and Atlas designs (yellow and purple being complimentary colours). Belladonna (nightshade) is known for both its beauty and deadliness. She’s her own character but also part of a duality on quite a few levels and it’s pretty much inseparable from her.

I enjoy Blakes line 'sometimes its just fun to kick ass' because i think its another way her and Yang are actually similar! Judging from how Yang sometimes has that cocky/ shit eating grin when she is fighting she seems to often get a rush from or enjoy brawling. No wonder they both keep smiling when they are doing the bumbleby move or tossing each other around the battlefield! Theyre having fun kicking ass and fighting so in sync! Explains the flirting (good to see ur not rusty!) Line too!

Yang was always the one who appears to enjoy fighting the most out of team RWBY and it's so sweet that Blake seems to have grown to enjoy it too, especially when she fights with Yang because they work so well together 🥺🥺🥺

For the description of the show: Imagine a show that starts out like Sailor moon, only weapon specialists instead of magical girls, but still women taking on roles typically held by straight white males. Then it evolves into action-adventure where the four gay female protagonists have to deal with the drama caused by a divorce between a religious wizard and his apostate witch wife. Also everything are guns and gay.

at this point in her arc weiss finds it hard to have faith in herself. the person she is striving to be is an ideal: unreal and unreachable. she can't identify her own independent identity to aim for -- what is she supposed to place her faith in, if her family doesn't deserve it? something that may as well be a ghost or a fairy tale?

she could do so much, if she could just believe in herself, her own autonomy.

Overall I didn't rly like that episode tho lmao I don't think wby+j were traumatized enough like I'm sorry to say but yang should suffer more after watching her little sister die in front of her I think

In a word? Decent.

I know the tropes they're playing with. The "desperate and despondent pulled back to hope by the fortunate return of the heroes" is paint-by-numbers and, even without it, how RWBY would've probably ended post-Volume 9 is fairly clear in my view. The Vacuo subplot is dealt with, likely with some character deaths; Salem either rocks up or the protags go on the offensive and go to her in Vale; big fight, they get all the Relics, summon the Gods, and Ruby and co. talk no jutsu their way into a happy ending via a reiteration of the Blacksmith's dialogue on the true nature of balance and an insistence that Ozma's task of unity was fulfilled in a way that matters.

Which, honestly? Is fine. It works. The epilogue works - the character beats are there, the additional stress of Vacuo being the only functionally defensible Kingdom left is a little cheaply done but overall alright, and seeing the road laid ahead by it isn't necessarily a bad thing. I think, if that is the way they intended to go, it would have been a decent end for an overall decent series.

This is a clip from the fandom’s favorite video essay on RWBY. I have several questions, chief among them being How did these two convince so many that RWBY is Super Progressive™? And if what they are saying is true then how was the Blake/Adam nonsense not something tacked on when they needed to kill him seeing as all of That is entirely dependent on Blake’s gender?

Like so many people see RWBY as these young women rebelling against the toxic men around them but how can that be true if not even the writers see it that way?
