Funny Headcanon

As we know the ROTTMNT boys are basically Gen Z kids. That’s means they most definitely grew up watching ATLA, since I’m currently rewatching the show I wanna give my personal funny headcanon in them watching the show.

The boys all loved this show. Rewatched it a thousand times when they finished.

However our Disaster Twins were REALLY loved the show. They got very into and even shipped the characters. This is where the shipping wars started.

Leo was(still is let’s be honest) a major Kataang shipper. He is a HUGE sucker for Friends to Lovers trope along with a nice slow burn

Donnie was a major Zutara Shipper. This is where he got his love for the bad boy aesthetic. (Semi projecting on Zuko a little but he will never admit that) Also had a love for Enemies to Lovers trope too.

These two got into really HEATED debates. Would literally spent hours going over why their ship was better. Got so bad that they literally started fighting each other too.

Splinter had to ban shipping debates and even banned them from watching the show for a week.

Raph and Mikey respectably shunned them for that week. So Donnie and Leo had to hold a truce until they finished the show.

When the show ended with Katara and Aang kissing, Leo literally threw a party and rubbed it Donnie’s face. Meanwhile Donnie was mourning what could have been…

It’s been years now and Leo STILL holds rubs it in his face but just more quietly now. Donnie still loves Zutara but also has love for Zuko x Mai now. He loves goth chicks now.
