Au where Rooster’s power is tied to writing out a single rule and Marinette let’s herself be petty.

To say that Lila was satisfied was an understatement.

She was pleased.

She got Marientte expelled. She was gone. Out of this school. Yesterday's "Ladybug". Now there was no one to stand in her way. And so confident was she, she walked into school as she would normally, not noting the smallest of scribble on the steps of the school, or how that scribble gave a subtle orange glow.

She saw Alya, bummed about Marinette, and was quick to move to put her at ease. Best to have attention on her instead.

"Alya!" Lila cried out, waving to her excitedly. "Did you hear the latest news?"

Alya perked, interest piqued.

"Ladybug said I--"

The words just stopped coming.

Lila paused, wide eyed.

She tried to speak. She tried to continue to her tale. But try as she might, nothing would come out. It was like she was muted.

"What's wrong?" Alya asked, coming near, concerned.

"I, I don't know," Lila uttered.

She could talk then. She was ok, right? Maybe it was just some weird fluke?

She offered Alya a smile, and tried again. "I guess it was nothing? Anyway, as I was saying, Ladybug sa--"

Again, only silence came out.

As Lila internally panicked and mentally scrambled to figure it out, struggling to speak, going between talking and becoming mute, no one looked up to see a curious new hero on the roof. A rooster looking hero who had a little red kwami on her head and a box of cookies in her lap.

"I hope Hawk Moth takes a day off today," the rooster said, offering a cookie to the kwami. "I could watch this all day long."

"You and me both," Tikki agreed.

Alba Gloriosa AU

So… confession time. In the post-Volpina, pre-Chameleon glory days, I was a hardcore Lilanette shipper. I loved the idea of Mari feeling bad for what she did as Ladybug and befriending Lila only to discover that she really actually liked her when she wasn’t lying. I loved the slow burn and the bonding and all the funny, awkward moments as Lila became an anti-Chloe of sorts (loving Marinette and hating LB). And, despite everything that’s happened in the show, I have to admit that I still really like Lila’s character design -- I know we all make fun of her hair, but I actually think it’s really cute.

So, despite Chameleon and Ladybug and everything that’s happened since the start of season 3, there’s the niggling concept for a Lilanette au that just won’t leave me alone. I’m calling it the Alba Gloriosa AU. Here’s my pitch.

Starting after Volpina (ofc, I’m not gonna get near Chameleon with a ten-foot pole in this au), the school shuns Lila because someone recorded Ladybug telling her off at the park and it went viral. Marinette feels super bad, and introduces herself to Lila, offering to be her friend. Lila obviously thinks she’s joking or something and that the other shoe’s about to drop, but they eventually start a tentative friendship.

The first time Lila goes over to Mari’s house, she doesn’t know what to do. She knows that her Mom loves her, sure, but she’s never home. Most of the relationship that she has with her is through the sticky notes she leaves on the refrigerator. Tom and Sabine are just so warm and so caring and they listen to her and gosh, she’s supposed to look cool, she can’t cry --

She starts coming over a lot more, always seeming reluctant to leave. Eventually, the Dupain-Cheng’s figure out why and they give her lots of big hugs and tell her she can stay the night. The next day, Sabine and Tom roll up to the Italian embassy on a mission and talk to Lila’s mom. They tell her how lost and abandoned her daughter feels, assuring her that they know she’s trying her best, but maybe she could at least make it home for dinner once in a while? They let her know how wonderful a person Lila is and how she’s always welcome at their house, but she really needs her mom. Mrs. Rossi is probably a really overwhelmed workaholic who’s trying to solve the world’s problems by herself, and this is a wake-up call she really needs. She breaks down crying and leaves early that very day to pick Lila up from school. Mari had never seen her new friend so happy.

So, Marinette spends more and more time with Lila, integrating her back into the class and working on homework together and grabbing ice cream… A couple months in, she realizes that she likes Lila. (Cue dramatic screeching attack.) She still feels really bad that Lila still isn’t a huge fan of Ladybug though. She starts coming up with bullshit excuses to visit Lila as LB and tries to start mending their relationship. Lila thinks it’s a bit weird that Paris’ superheroine is stalking her balcony, but, hey, if Marinette gave her a second chance, she can probably give Ladybug one too. (Cue a rather Marichat-like relationship developing.)

Eventually, Ladybug needs a new ally for a mission -- she needs a hero for the miraculous of the rooster. For the purposes of this fic, the rooster’s weapon is a mirror that can change size at the will of its wielder (like Chat’s Baton). The power of the miraculous is a healing light of sorts (during which the mirror looks like a sun) that resets the countdown timers of any miraculous present, allowing the special powers of other miraculouses to be used again. It also heals injuries and refreshes all those present. (I’m sorry y’all, I’ve been playing Dungeons and Dragons most of my life, every party needs a healer.)

Ladybug goes to Lila’s balcony and asks her if she wants to be a hero -- for real this time. Lila’s smile breaks wide as the sun, and Alba Gloriosa, the newest hero of Paris is born.

Orikko is literally where the saying mother hen comes from and she’s pretty similar to Tikki in personality, so she’s really good for Lila and she loves her so much.

Karma Chameleon Part 3!

I can’t really write around Lila being a bitch liar, so I just cut her from the roots here.

Also, while this started as a salt fic, I think it’s moved into just a normal fic by now. Maybe.

Alya was happy. She had just become Rena Rouge to help Ladybug fight an Akuma. She had missed jumping roof to roof, the wind in her face and the rush of power on her veins. She loved having Ladybug’s trust and… she had forgotten to ask her about Lila. Again.

Last week she had been asleep when a new rooster super hero has helped Ladybug and Chat Noir defeat an Akuma that wanted to make the night last forever. She had been asleep at the time, but the new hero (He had called himself ‘Cocorico’, which she thought was a bit ridiculous, but ‘Rena Rouge’ couldn’t really criticize him.) had been caught by the news and he had made a cool trick with a ball, creating light that Alya supposed blinded the villain.

She would DEFINITIVELY ask Ladybug next time, but now, she was sure that Nino wanted all the juicy details about her latest adventure.

Alya arrived at the classroom a bit later than usual thanks to her Rena Rouge shenanigans, followed by Marinette, and surprisingly, Lila.

“Glad to see Rena Rouge in action again! She’s my favorite super hero!” Nino declared proudly, with a goofy smile that Alya found adorable. She couldn’t help but roll her eyes teasingly at her dork boyfriend.

“Why thank... err, I mean… nothing”

Nino and Alya looked at Lila, who had turned her head to reply Nino, but was now… Alya wanted to say ‘nervous’, but she wasn’t sure.

“What do you mean?” asked Adrien.

“No, it’s nothing. I must have misheard Nino. Sorry” Was she pouting?

“Oh my… Are you Rena Rouge?” Alya was experiencing a lot of emotions right now. Alix innocent question really set thing off in the classroom. Was that a smile on Lila?

“I guess it’s no use to hide it from you anymore” Lila took her necklace out of her shirt, where it was usually hiding. “You figured it out, you’re all so smart!”

“You’re lying” Alya was surprised that someone had beat her to that call out. Surprisingly, that someone had been Nathaniel.

“Why would you say something so mean? I’m not lying”

The whole class glared at Nathaniel who cowered in his seat and continued with their praise of Lila.

“Everyone knows Ladybug keeps the Miraculous after getting the akuma defeated.” It was Nino. Bless his heart. “She took the Miraculous from Chloe.” Nino quickly added. For once, Alya was glad that Chloe had outed herself as Queen Bee. That kind of made it easier for them to keep their identities secret.

“Oh. That. Well, Ladybug and I talked about it, and she trusts me, her best friend, to keep it permanently, so I can help her more quickly. And Chloe… well, let’s be honest, she’s not the most apt to be a hero.” Most of the class laughed at that.

“WHAT DID YOU SAID?” Everyone turned their heads to the door, where Chloe had just entered the classroom, and was obviously furious at Lila’s words. Everyone shielded Lila, who practically jumped at Adrien’s arms, holding him tight.

“Lila is trying to convince us that she’s Rena Rouge” Said Nino matter-of-factly. Alya was SO glad that he was doing the talking. She would use language she wouldn’t repeat in front of her mother. Or any adult. Ok, maybe she yelled them at one of Nora… Anansi’s matches, a couple of times, but that was it.

Chloe noticed the necklace on Lila’s chest, and of course she noticed how she was clinging to Adrien. She raised an eyebrow, and laughed.

“Good one Lila. You are high-larious!”

Lila looked confused for a bit. It was obviously not the response she was expecting. “What do you mean? I’m not joking”

“Are you sure? So if you’re not joking, then YOU. ARE. LIYING.” She stopped short of calling her a bitch, but Alya really felt it was implicit.

“Stop being mean to Lila!” Yelled Rose out of all people. The others nodded.

“Yeah Chloe, your bullying has to stop”

Chloe laughed again. That haughty laugh she had perfect so that it would get on your nerves.

“Precious, JUST precious. I actually made Dupain… Marinette’s life a living hell for YEARS and none of you even batted an eyelid. Now I tell the truth about Lila and you all jump in her defense.” Everyone was silent. Even Nino looked ashamed at that last comment. “I made a promise to Ladybug… To myself... To be deserving of be Queen Bee. I want to be a better person.” She sighed and looked directly at Marinette. “Apologizing now would be kind of hollow, but I will apologize in a proper manner later.” Marinette nodded. Chloe gave what Alya thought was her intent of a sincere smile. It was kind of creepy, but the feeling was there. She then snapped again at Lila.

“So far, you had been a nuisance with all the lies. Your worst crime was sending Dupain… sending Marinette to the back, but she seemed okay with that, so I just kept my mouth shut.”

“I never intended…”

“Did I say I was finished? No I don’t think I did.” She breathed again, regaining her composure. “Very well, you are Rena Rouge.”

“Thank you for finally understanding”

“Rena Rouge first appeared when you were supposedly in Achu.”

The others looked at each other. Chloe could be a cutthroat bitch, but she had a point.

“It was an illusion. I casted a double all the way from Achu to help Ladybug.” Lila seemed proud of herself. Chloe smirked.

“If you can do that, then why you have helped her only a couple of times?” Again, the others started whispering.

“Because she respects my civilian life and asked me to only help her when she asks”

Chloe rolled her eyes. “I was up there in Hero’s day. Are you really sure that was you?”

“An illusion of me. Yes. Now that I’m back from Achu I can help Ladybug better. We might even do another team up.”

Alya was grasping at straws, trying to find a way to demonstrate that Lila was lying without revealing that she was Rena Rouge. Even with Lila dodging every question Chloe was throwing at her, Chloe hadn’t stopped smiling.

“Really? Rena Rouge… you… were VERY touchy-feely with Carapace.”

“We play-flirt that way. It means nothing!” Lila added quickly, looking at Adrien.

“Are you sure? They called each other pet names and even kissed a couple of times. It was sickening how much they were into each other” Lila’s eyes opened wide. It was clear she didn’t know about Rena Rouge and Carapace being an item. Alya didn’t remember kissing Nino in front of Chloe, but she wasn’t about to object to the lie. And yes, she was aware on how hypocrite she was being for supporting a lie to out another.

“So, either you’re trying to cheat on Carapace with Adrien, or you’re lying about being Rena Rouge.” Added Chloe, smug as ever. “Which one is it Lila?”

Lila started to sob, surprising them; she was obviously playing the pity card. “He… he forced me to kiss him” She sobbed again. Nino looked angry, and Alya was about to tell Lila where she could shove her lies, but Chloe, again, knew exactly what to say.

“Rena Rouge was the one that pulled Carapace into a kiss. Very passionate, I must add.” Lila looked at Chloe and sobbed even harder.

“Chloe that’s enough!” One of their classmates said. Alya really didn’t care who it was. She had came to the sudden realization that this must have been how Marinette had felt whenever she tried to prove Lila was lying and no one would listen. “You are upsetting Lila”

“She’s upset because I’m destroying her lies. But okay, if she’s Rena Rouge, she should be able to transform”

“Ladybug asked me to only transform to fight an akuma” said Lila between sobs.

“Ladybug also asked us to keep our identity a secret, yet here we are… Fine, show us your Kwami.”

Lila looked confused again. It was obvious she didn’t know what a Kwami was. Chloe smiled with satisfaction, and before Lila could weasel her way out of the question, the bell rang and Miss Bustier entered the classroom, while everyone went to their respective seats. Adrien had long made some distance between them. Everyone else was looking skeptical to her now. Lila was practically shaking and still sobbing, enough that Miss Bustier send her to the nurse. No one offered to accompany her, so the task fell on Adrien.

Alya felt she needed to apologize to Marinette again. And felt a bit dirty for owing Chloe for exposing Lila.

What’s your opinion on Minotaurox, Caprikid, CoqCourage and Miss Hound’s hero designs?

Well, my patrons (in the Rough and Ready tier and above) have gotten to see my kwami swaps for Mylene, Ivan, and Nathaniel (they'll be getting Marc, Sabrina, and Lila this week), and what I realized is that the boys original designs? They're pretty much solid.

Minotaurox needs a little tweaking because while I get what they were TRYING to do, he does look a bit like the Michelin Man. He looks much better in 2D. I think Caprikid needs a better spot for his Miraculous and I would get his hair out of his face, and Rooster Bold feels more like they tried to make a rooster hero than Marc as a rooster hero, if that makes sense, but he looks good (though his feathers look really weird in motion).

But Sabrina, our poor Miss Hound. They really didn't even try did they? Maybe it was because they were gonna give it to someone else in the finale, maybe it was because Ladybug pretty much says point blank she only chose Sabrina because she's good at soccer (same with Marc), but you cannot look at Miss Hound and tell me that's NOT just a retextured version of her normal outfit. The seam lines even follow her sweater vest! And as if to hide it they put a texture over it that makes her just look dirty? Why??

But who are we kidding, they didn't even try to make her the least bit heroic, of course they weren't going to put effort into making her look the part even superficially.

#they could've made this her episode by having her appalled by Chloe literally waiting for an akuma #and since Chloe immediately teams up with Lila we don't even have to really focus on the fall out until next Season #but whatever #ml salt

So we all know how Ladybug/Marinette and Cat Noir/Adrien have a lovesquare.

Well because these fuckers have akumas and superhero identities, they have a love hexagon.

Behold:

Rooster Bold x Caprikid: They’re the most strange and shy with each other, but also very blunt and honest with each other. If that doesn’t make sense, basically they don’t talk that much because they’re always so busy with akumas and such, but when they do, their conversations are about them being heroes and the stress it causes and such. They strangely have the best communication skills out of all of them when it comes to actual emotions.

Rooster Bold x Nath: Rooster Bold is confident with Nath like how Reverser is, except he isn’t shameless and morbid and can get flustered at times, which Nath enjoys. Imagine, a superhero getting flustered over him.

Rooster Bold x Evillustrator: Ah yes, the classic enemies-to-lovers trope. Whenever Rooster Bold shows up to help the heroes defeat Evillustrator, the Akuma instantly puts on his gentleman mode and starts complimenting and flirting with Rooster Bold like his life depends on it, while Rooster Bold is just sick and tired of his shit and tries to defeat him (but he secretly enjoys it).

Marc x Caprikid: Caprikid treats Marc like a prince, and always knows what to say and do with him. Marc always gets flustered and giggly and such when Caprikid’s with him, because the hero treats him so well. Caprikid just likes to make him happy.

Marc x Nath: The classic best-friends-to-lovers, the MarcNath fandoms original ride-or-die ship. You know the drill and so do I. The two work on a comic book, get stuck together in a bunch of life-or-death situations because of akumas, and sin crushes on each other, but try to hide it the best they can. Luckily, Alix is there to stop them from being dumbasses.

Marc x Evillustrator: Oh, Evillustrator is definitely a yandere and will beat anyone’s ass if they even look at his sweet, precious, innocent Marc. At this point, everyone has learned not to come near Marc if Nath’s akumatized or else they’re dead, most likely quite literally. Marc gets easily flustered and surprised by him, and tries to prevent him from hurting anyone or destroying anything the best he can. And even though he is a little crazy, the dates he makes for them are pretty good, so…..

Reverser x Caprikid: They’re just constantly bantering back and forth, flirting, arguing and insulting each other while still fighting. But neither can manage to make the other flustered or angry and catch them by surprise, so they’re just stuck in a constant state of saying the most embarrassing, shameless things out loud while fighting. Ladybug has learned that if she needs a distraction for when Reverser is out, she gets Caprikid.

Reverser x Nath: It’s just Reverser being a tsudere and Nath enjoying all of it. Context:

And finally

Reverse x Evillustrator: Crazy ass evil duo. Will commit crime and murder for each other. Most shameless, violent, morbid and flirtatious of the pairings. Utter psychopaths. The only wait to possibly defeat them is corner one of them and threaten the other. They care more about each other than the Miraculous any day. That, or just let them have their fun with Chloe and Lila and stop them right before they get killed, which works just fine for Ladybug. Everyone hates it when they get akumatized together because it means they have to deal with all their shit.

Analyzing the Penalteam spoiler(s)

Usually these types of spoilers have no meat to talk about, but a couple things caught my eye in the latest Penalteam one.

1) Didier Roustan is a guest star in this episode. This isn’t surprising to me because Astruc said there’d be a football/soccer episode with a special guest and he posted a cropped image of cartoon Didier’s concept art. French sports fans quickly figured out it was him from his style. Plus, he’s been in the special guest section of the s4 end credits this whole time along with Franck Dubosc, Philippe Candeloro, and Veronique Berecz.

2) I noticed something odd about the people present in this scene

Since Ms. Bustier is here, it seems like the soccer game is a class field trip, but some people are missing. I bet Lila’s just skipping as usual, but Kim, Max, and Nath aren’t here either. This wouldn’t be the first time Nath disappears when physical activity is involved, but according to Winny, he’s supposed to get a miraculous this episode, and you’d think a competitive, athletic game with a famous sports journalist is something Kim would never miss. I wonder where they and Max went. I’m guessing there will be an explanation because-

3) the number of people present is very convenient. A typical soccer team is comprised of nine people, and there are eighteen people in the collage part of the intro, perfect to play a full game. Subtracting Marinette and Adrien, there are nine kids on the field in the spoiler. There are also seven kids not present. If Shadowmoth’s villain(s) transform/mind-control etc everyone here except Mari and Adrien, who get away as usual, then there will be a perfect nine-on-nine game.

I predict that Chloe, Sabrina, Alya, Nino, Mylene, Juleka, Rose, Alix, and Ivan will be Penalteam. Ladybug and Chat Noir need an opposing team, so they’ll recruit Pegasus, King Monkey, Vesperia, Viperion, and Ryuko, but they’re short two players. This is where Ladybug gives Rooster Bold and Caprikid miraculous for the first time as Winny spoiled. That’s why Kim, Max, and Nath are conveniently elsewhere when the conflict goes down.

“But what about Minotaurox and Traquemoiselle?” I know right? I think Ivan will get his miraculous in Risk and Sabrina in Strike Back. I’m a bit nervous for their screen time, but I can see the ox miraculous helping Ladybug defeat some difficult villains like that big robot dude and the dog helping her physically locate the elusive Shadowmoth (spoilers indicate he’s hiding in the Louvre?). Ivan is part of the team in Strike Back, and we haven’t heard much about Sabrina, but her hero name implies a superpower like “detection”.

4) what’s going on with the villain? Usually, in a guest episode, the guest star is the akuma, but not always. Veronique Berecz was just herself in The Puppeteer 2.0 while Manon was the villain. We know Chloe will be akumatized into Penalty, but that’s all we’ve seen of the villain. SM can only send one akuma at a time, but it can influence more than one person.

I’m thinking, since Penalty’s akumatized object is a whistle, her power will be controlling people by blowing into it, which is how she influences the rest of the team. It would be kind of like Darkblade and his knights. It’s possible that Didier will also be a villain, but I don’t know. Since he’s a journalist/commentator, I can see him narrating what’s happening in the fight and even helping Ladybug out that way, but maybe he plays a minor role as himself only outside of the fight like Veronique.

5) I don’t expect massive plot progression from this episode because there’s a guest star and two new heroes, and it’s The Soccer Episode, but I feel like there just miiight be some Chloe stuff. I mean, other than for comic relief, why put such an episode as the 24th? Usually the 24th episode is relevant in some way.

In the past, Chloe has been akumatized into powerful villains over serious things, but in season four she gets two new forms that are both silly and caused by random tantrums. I think that her anger over stupid stuff is indicative of some deeper negative emotions. In Queen Banana, she was akumatized over the movie group ignoring her instead of indulging her controlling ideas, but on a deeper level, she was jealous of the positive attention Zoe was getting. How easily the kids at school started liking her and showering her with stuff like lead roles in a film. This was also the episode where she “broke up” with Adrien at the end, but Zoe said she’d always love her.

I think we might see something similar in Penalteam. Chloe will be akumatized over something dumb and bratty like nobody wanting to play with her, her team having terrible chemistry and sucking while Marinette’s team thrives under her leadership, her getting second choice because of Marinette’s good luck and getting stuck with the less athletic kids, etc. But I think underneath it all, she’ll really be upset because she will once again feel left out. All her classmates are friends who can work well together, but nobody wants her there to spoil the fun, much less boss them around.

Maybe I’m being too ambitious here, but I think this might be the episode where she loses, or at least starts to lose, Sabrina. She lost Adrien in QB, and Sabrina’s all she really has left except Zoe whose attention she rejects. Since Sabrina will be receiving a miraculous, Ladybug needs a reason to trust her. She needs to think for herself and be ready to serve the greater good, not Chloe, and I don’t see how she can naturally have that change during an action-packed finale. Maybe Chloe will finally get to Sabrina and she’ll realize this is it. Maybe she’ll have time to sit on it, and only make her decision later. But it’d make sense if Chloe’s repeated poor actions cause her to lose another person, especially the one who’s the closest to her and who gives her the most power.

Without Sabrina, Chloe is kinda screwed. Sabrina carries her stuff, does her homework, organizes everything, plays all her games, backs her up, and most importantly, lets her feel powerful. If not for her, Chloe would just be some jerk that no one wants to be around who happens to have enough money and connections to have her way, but Sabrina is the one who hypes her up into the Queen B she is. If she turned her back on her, she’d lose confidence. That’s something that would truly make this episode 24 special, a development in Sabrina, and Chloe finally reaching that point where she has no one there for her except her detested half-sister, which finally creates the potential for actual development and learning a permanent lesson rather than putting on a good face to get Ladybug’s approval on occasion.

6) last thing, my guesses always change for these, and they’re usually impossible to guess, but I never stop making theories lmao. Now that we know what the tools are for the rooster and goat miraculous (pen and paintbrush respectively), my guess for the powers changes to “inspiration” and “passion”. That’s it, final answer. If I change my mind again, or if one of my old guesses was right, pretend this never happened, but I feel like we’ve gotten a lot of info/spoilers about them versus the other new heroes, so it’s nice to be able to have guesses actually based on something.

As is typical ct-multifandom fashion, I’ll close out this post with a prediction that has absolutely nothing to do with the topic of the post or anything I discussed. Derailment time! I predict that the new character from the future, who I think will show up in the finale, probably Strike Back, is going to be future Max/Pegasus. Why? ‘Cause it makes sense to me and I want to see him. He’s one of Bunnyx’s closest friends, his miraculous would be one of the ones that’d get the biggest power boost from an adult user, and the two of them are probably a yin-yang pair (ask me about those btw). Also his name miiiight’ve been mentioned in a comedically bleeped-out spoiler Lindalee Rose interview about the s4 finale, saying “beep” is gonna be there to mess up SM’s plan, but maybe it was “Plagg” or someone else. I’ve been thinking about this for a while now. Manifesting future Max. But seriously, ask me about yin-yang pairs.

Gale Reviews: ML Season 4 episode 26: Strike back

Spoilers below. And now that I got subs. Will the dialogue hold up to the hype OR kill all interest in the episode

-So Tikki's wording is what had Ladybug think about using Pegabug's power

-So I missed what he said to Lila, But I think Lila got sus at this Adrien being so nice.

-Can we appreciate Felix was smart enough to snag Nathalie's tablet to figure out about the miraculous? Genius

-Felix realizing he had been had is funny

-So this is where I think Shadowmoth messed up. He should have had Risk stay out of the conflict. But he was being risky so... meh

-I do love risks power

-Oh when Strike back destroys a chimney no one says anything but when Chat noir does it he is "A monster" Double standards

-So Ladybug's arguement on how they dont know if Strikeback is a sentimonster or not is interesting.

-Chat noir calling out Ladybug on her lack of risk taking. Oh he doesnt even know

-Ladybug saying that her knowing means, if she gets akumatized its game over. Because he would find out both. Then he says they never get akumatize THUS THE CHAT BLANC FLASH. Because she knows but doesnt tell him. And Chat noir's point is on point.

-Risk activated which had her thank Rena. Which is how Chat noir found out. (But I missed what she said cause it was live.) That doesnt seem like a risk but it actually is

-Ladybug telling him not to look because its too risky. Chat noir continuing to get MORE ANNOYED.

-Okay I missed what the mayor said. But it is actually REALLY FUNNY. HE IS RISKING HIS LIFE FOR CINEMA.

-I know its not translation related. But... Chat noir and Ladybug pulled off some masterful saves with their weapons

-Shadowmoth approves of child endangerment

-So Looking at her choices. Carapace, Ryuuko, Purple tigress, Vespera, Polymouse, Rooster bold, and Minotourox.

-Most of those make no sense choice wise.

-Then King monkey is there

-Also side note... Polymouse power is actually SUPER USEFUL. I take back previous statements about it.

-So Ladybug just brought the kid to cityhall. Which in hindsight explains what happened

-My question though is how Carapace knew Rena was up there?

-But that spoiled it because... well shadowmoth be spying

-So Rena furtive noticed the matching patterns and said the kid is responsible.

-Also Chat noir got f***ing shmacked into a concrete wall. Damn Risk got strength for a kid

-Chat noir was told to not help because if his power got used strikeback would be too strong. But Chat noir wants to help and Risks power is still active... so thats a problem.

-It really looks like they are bullying a small child

-And strikeback steals the power.

-Ladybug's luckycharm is the train for yesterday.

-So Ladybug doubts her decision because of risk right now. But also cause adrien is involved. And my theory is that she actually did get it wrong. She should have used time travel to go back in time WITH the dog miraculous... But of course thats just me.

-Okay so I like her hair.... but the shoulder pads look so dumb.

-So she calls herself Pelibug. Neat.

-She checked for a mark

-Felix just asked her if the yo-yo... OMG SO THATS HOW HE KNEW! MARINETTE YOU FOOL!

-Felix hesitates cause he remembers he told ladybug he wasnt a hero. But now he is totally gonna abuse the power.

-Also BARKK IS A PRECIOUS BEAN!!!

-Dude just tried to rip her off right there! And she didnt even realize it.

-Yo I just realized Felix is going through a LOT right now. Didnt even realize he found out about time travel and his aunts corpse in a basement in the same day.

- Oh he hid it at the zoo. Thats smart.

- So thats how Ladybug beat Risk.

-Chat noir realized he messed up.

-Felix calls himself .flairmidable. Oh I get it now

-Chat noir going through the heartbreak.

-I like how the rest of the team is totally fine with Ladybug gushing.

-Chat noir's grumpy face makes me laugh

-Okay so NOW ROOSTERBOLDS POWER MAKES SENSE AND MAN IS IT OP AF.

-And in the moment of distraction, Felix won

-Wow... Really watching the moment. Felix being a sentimonster. He just witnessed his sens-brethren get f***ing murdered. In that context, his betrayal probably was a lot easier.

-But he does seem sorry to betray her still

-Shadowmoth LOST with his plan. He was so salty

-Okay so the Alya and Marinette scene is heartbreaking. But Ladybug being understanding.

-Alya being responsible but also it kind of doomed her cause she said to get the other miraculous before detransforming... but to be fair Alya had no idea Felix did what he did.

-And Felix is sitting in the office like the big dog. telling his uncle Ladybug did make a mistake

-Lila thinks something is up and is smiling as Nathalie is in pain.

- So Adrien got changed I guess since he isnt in Felix's clothes.

-So Adrien Realizes the DOG was suppose to be him and that Felix scammed Ladybug

-Felix wants the real Peacock miraculous.

-So Felix's Dialogue is FUCKING AMAZING. He is telling Gabriel I am the alpha and Give me what I want.

-And Ladybug is in panic mode.

-And Gabriel is WAY TOO happy

-So Adrien gets Ladybug to detransform in private so the yo-yo returns.

-But its too late.

-Also Felix is really lucky that Ladybug didnt detransform. Or his deal would have went wrong.

-So Hawkmoth's speech really makes him sound absolutely vile and I love it.

-Ladybug losing all hope but Chat noir arrives

-Ladybug telling him all the reasons she failed and specifically failed him, that he of all people should abandon her. But Chat noir dismissing it and reaching out his hand. THAT IS GOOD S***

-This is the best ladynoir moment. Chat noir telling her they will get the miraculous back. That they will get them all back, With Her, the best heroine, the people of paris that believe in her, and him her faithful partner.

-IF that s*** aint beautiful I dont know what is.

So I got the subs

and...

I think Strikeback may be my favorite episode. Even more than Origins.

The action was well paced. The drama was there. The suspense.

The moments from previous episodes finally get payoffs.

This was the season finale we wanted... no... that the show NEEDED.

Ladybug and Chat noir are finally in the place they need to be.

Hawkmoth is now hitting his final stage of being the villain.

And its really coming together.

Also I love how Diabolical Felix is. He won.

Hawkmoth's plan was nothing if Felix didnt do what he did.

Felix was the true winner.

And Now Ladybug and Chat noir have a war to fight.

I give this episode a 10/10.

This was what I wanted from a season finale.

Hey, so a few weeks ago I sent you an ask about kwami compatibility for Lila (other than the fox)—did you get it? Or did tumblr eat it?

I don't think I got it, because I definitely would have been right ontop of an ask about my favorite little villain-in-training, never mind that I usually try to cover stuff from oldest to newest. So, I want to thank you for asking me about Lila again, because I love analysing her. So here's my top three Miraculous picks for her.

The show itself has implied that Lila might one day have the Butterfly Miraculous, and I can see her working the Miraculous well, even though it would be for evil purposes. Lila knows just what to say to get people to listen to her, to want to believe her. We don’t really know how imaginative she is, she is capable of coming up with even complicated plans to get what she wants, but planning alone doesn’t mean she’d be able to create designs for Akumas, or Sentimonsters for that matter.

Her being so utterly evil means of course that Nooroo wouldn’t be too happy helping her. However, we have seen evidence that Lila is fundamentally an unhappy person, and we know from his interactions with Gabriel that Nooroo is a sucker for that emotional turmoil in his partners and tends to view said partners more positively as he tries to help them overcome their emotional issues. Of course, Lila is very similar to Gabriel in how stubborn and single-minded she can get, so she wouldn’t be too willing to take said advice.

Just like her manipulations make her a good fit for the Butterfly, her ability to invoke emotions in others with the things she says can be utilized to create Sentimonsters. However, this would require her to be face to face with her target since the telepathic Miraculouses do require a powerful emotion to be already present to create a connection. So Lila would need to hide away to transform after she was done playing someone to use their emotions for a Sentimonster. As such, I see this one taking less advantage of her strengths than the Butterfly, but it's still something she could take advantage of with careful timing.

Duusu is also a really doozy of a Kwami (heh). They’re emotional and flighty and Lila isn’t really the most patient of people unless she’s working on an agenda. If Lila was partnered with Duusu, I think she’d mostly keep Duusu dormant so that she wouldn’t constantly have to deal with them.

That’s the “villain Miraculouses” covered. However, I can also see Lila working with other Miraculouses as well, and most of it has to do with how the character is foiled against other characters with Miraculouses.

This blog features a lot of content both by me and other people that discuss how Lila is mirrored against Adrien specifically, how they function in very similar ways even as their moralities and ways of thinking about other people differ greatly. As such, I would like to argue that Lila would actually be a good fit for the Black Cat Miraculous.

As I said, Lila can be patient when she’s working on an agenda. This is a trait Adrien has as well (with the “agenda” usually being Ladybug’s plan). Similarly, just like how Adrien is still reckless enough to actually use the Cataclysm instead of saving it too much, Lila can also act recklessly and her approach to situations is almost always more than just “sit and wait”. Lila’s problem-solving approach suits how one would need to measure the use of Cataclysm, equal parts careful and reckless.

Season four did introduce some other Miraculouses that would benefit from a approach similar to the Black Cat, though. I see the Tiger working for Lila, for one. However, I also really like the poetry if she were to get the Rooster Miraculous since it has the power of Pretension. It's very thematically appropriate that the girl who tells stories about her great achievements and skills could get the superpower to make herself have any achievement or skill, even if temporarily.

Basically, Lila is really adaptive, so you can have a lot of fun with her with very different Miraculouses. Once again, I am calling her chameleon-like.

What are your personal favorite kwami swaps for Marinette? Mine are Fox, Cat (more in the matter of being a black outfit over any actual liking), Bee (it has black), Horse (ponytail anyone? Besides her probably being fashonable), Bunny (since she would want to ensure safe traveld), Dragon (because she got horns, the power not so much) and arguably Snake (but honestly, while I dislike Luka being given that PARTICULAR kwami, he rocks it). Never though about Tiger though.

Top picks for Marinette: Cat, Fox, Bee, and Snake

Cat largely because Plagg would offer her the most growth, and they'd be a hilarious duo, I also like someone creative having a miraculous of destruction as you do have to destroy to create.

Fox because Marinette would be an amazing Fox, and I'd love to see her and Trixx work off each other, playing off that Trixx is cunning and Marinette is brilliant. And could have a nice Lila vs Marinette with this as Marinette is a trickster and so is Lila.

Bee because everything about Marinette screams Bee. She is hardworking, she is creative, actually will build stuff, she can be a leader or team player, she does garden and own plants, works with sugar, and aggression is a last resort for her. Only issue is Pollen but just overhaul Pollen.

Snake I admit bias towards as I like snakes, and I want more girls with snakes, and the turquoise of Snake would look good with her. Sass would also be a good kwami for her as he is calm and open minded. She is also selfless and intuitive, traits needed for the Snake.

Picks that aren't my top but would still like: Butterfly, Peafowl, Mouse, Ox, Rabbit, Horse, Rooster

Butterfly, Marinette would be a solid Butterfly, and her and Nooroo would be so sweet together.

Peafowl, tweaking the power to make more puppets than sentient beings who apparently can be counted as human; Marinette would make very complex animated puppets, and the nice thing is that this power would give her leeway to not stress and leave her creations to deal with situations. And she would feel stress in comparison to Butterfly as these creations aren't real people she's putting at risk.

Mouse Marinette can match with for being clever, and those buns are so cute. Mullo could be a source of comedy with her, and could be fun seeing Marinette paired with a more selfish, mischief maker.

Ox could offer her the most growth, especially Origins wise with her at low self esteem and scared; Stompp could urge her to stand her ground, and based on what I hear for power, it'd offer her a solid sense of security as she'd be untouchable.

Rabbit, I like the idea of her having some inspiration to Chang'e in her design, and out of all characters, she's of the few I'd trust with time travel. Still wish it was a different power though...

Horse is a useful power that, canonly, Marinette makes use of it a lot. Kaalki and Marinette would be an interesting duo as she has a personality similar to Chloe, but is more benevolent. I do see some bumps in the road for the two, but I also see them becoming quite close.

Rooster has a similar appeal to Ox, about courage and standing ground, it's also the unofficial symbol of France and loosely tied to the phoenix. Orikko could also be fun to pair with her as I like to think he's an egotistical kwami.

Neutral with over all, just don't grab me as much for swaps: Turtle, Tiger, Goat, Monkey, Dog

Not interested/don't like: Ladybug, Dragon, Pig

Penalteam huh ?

What I expected : Since the name is Penal TEAM I guess it will be about akuma team again huh. Maybe it will cool if this episode focused on Adrien boys squad get akumatized and see the extend how they feel about Adrien. Oh ! We also can see Carapace along with Nathaniel with Rooster Miraculous to help the heroes and Adrien confess to Nino that he IS Cat Noir all along. In conclusion it will be share same parallelism with “Gang of Secret” but with Adrien and Boys squad
