Read OVER THE WOODWARD WALL if you love ordinary, average & wildly unique children; adventures, mysterious walls, impossible cities, improbable roads, giant owls, shiny shoes, wild hair, crow girls, drowned girls, kingdoms, being scared, being brave, tasty fruits, missing parts, and holding hands.

“Her hair is smoldering. Her face was smudged with soot. She had a cut on her arms, her dress was torn, and she was missing a boot. Beautiful.” ― The Lost Hero

Some people be like ‘reading is boring’ while books will make me laugh out loud while I’m being alone, climbing up the walls in excitement, covering my face in embarrassment or checking my flat before I go to bed in the dark ‘cause they scared the shit out of me

Over the past couple of weeks, I’d read the next two books in my Twisted Tale collection: Unbirthday and Straight On Till Morning. I was a little disappointed that I didn’t enjoy reading Unbirthday as much as I enjoyed reading the first two, as it, at times felt like I was reading from a dictionary with the amount of almost unpronounceable words used, but on the bright side, the story did get better near the end.
Before I knew it, I got started on Straight On Till Morning and I would have to say even though it wasn’t quite what I expected, that I enjoyed reading that one a little more.
Either way, I’m loving the Twisted Tales books so far that I can’t wait to start reading the next two, Once Upon A Dream and Part Of Your World. Stay tuned for that post which might take a few weeks to appear…gotta work that reading magic, ya know. As the fairy godmother once said, “even miracles take a little time” 😉📚.

Read HER MAJESTY'S ROYAL COVEN by Juno Dawson if you love friend groups, trauma narratives, covens, intersectionality, multiple POVs, the infinite ways to be a witch, demons, disrupting systems of oppression, cups of tea, found family, nature, extreme reactions, and tiny villages.

playing MTG with people who have been in the game for like 20 years is so insufferable sometimes
every turn they're like "I play Cock Goblin of Guzzleberg" and everyone else at the table nods and goes "ah yes of course, the Cock Goblin, classic" and doesn't explain.
so I'm like okay. what does that do. and they go "well it has a Guzzler effect" and I'm like okay great what the FUCK is a Guzzler Effect™
and then after like 10 minutes of trying to get them to explain, eventually I figure out that there was a card called Guzzler Greebling that was only printed ONCE in 1998, and its text was "when this creature ETBs, everyone at the table has to suck your dick" and this card got so popular in Standard at the time that now all effects that involve dick-sucking are called "Guzzlers" by the players
