open starter // the flower dance
he wasn't bad with people per se, really. he could more than comfortably get through small talk and mingling. he had to, it was a daily part of his job at the museum: showing people around, answering questions, giving tours. he just didn't necessarily seek it out. which was why his presence at the flower dance came to a surprise to many, mostly so to himself.
the first dart he threw at landed near the edge of the board. the second a little closer, and the third even more so. he was admittedly better with a sword. "i have a feeling you're gonna win," he stated as he walked up to the board to retrieve the darts for his opponent. he held them out, a smile adding to his calm demeanour. "what was the bet again?"

Walking closer to get a peek, he blinks in surprise when seeing he was staring at an owl! "Oh...!" Seeing that they were staring dead at each other makes him chuckle, resting a hand on Kiyotaka's shoulder as he stares at the owl. "I see you've made a new friend. The first time he got Talon to smile. It made his entire face change from scary-nightmare to sickly-sewer-experiment-that-needs-cuddles. Jason stood no chance and allowed himself to be subjected to the first ever cuddle session
The first time Talon managed to from an entire sentence in response to Jason’s random chatter. Jason nearly walked into a lamppost because he was so stunned.
The moment Jason realized that Talon was safe, even while under the effects of Ivy’s pollen. That he can trust him.
The stunned look on Talon’s face when Jason tried mimicking the bird sounds for the first time. And the way his entire face just lit up a moment later.
Waking up with Tim, Dick, and Bruce all curled around each other in the nest, safe and protected
Dick perched on one of the shelves in the library and dropping down on an unsuspecting Bruce like a shadow demon, and how Bruce totally screamed like a little girl for a second.
Curling up with Bruce and Dick in the den to watch the newest run of Pride and Prejudice.
The way Dick made his overjoyed-wistful little coos and chirrups when Jason put on the Robin suit for the first time and proudly showed him the R on his chest.
Dick promising to always stay by his side and protect him; declaring them family

Can I request bonten and toddler reader? Where all of the bonten members aren’t home and the nanny who was napping leaving the reader playing outside. When bonten members come back to only find their son covered in mud and their home messy and mud everywhere as well? I hope it made sense lol.

(Name) was a little gremlin, the toddler loved getting into things and playing outside and most of all: he loved mud.
Like he could live in mud if allowed.
(Name) smiled as he made a mud castle, his nanny letting him play in the mud! By himself! Like a big boy!
(Name) was absolutely filthy, covered head to toe in mud and the biggest grin as he waddled into the house getting mud everywhere and his little tootsies getting tracks all over the expensive carpet as he went to look for a snack all while in his diaper (he abandoned the clothes when he was making the moat).
And where was his nanny?
Passed out on the couch.
Why? (Name) didn't care, mumbling something about naptimes as he managed to grab a box of cookies from the snack drawer and now down on as many as his heart could eat.
"Holy shit..." Takeomi said in horror as Bonten came home, the men actively trying to make time for their duckling who was passed out surrounded by cookies and an empty box as mud was e v e r y w h e r e "how did he get the tv?!" Koko said in shock as they assessed the damage and took notice of the sleeping nanny who had a muddy cheek "...we need a new nanny" Kakucho said annoyed "again"
Mochi lifted their passed out son, (name) muddy and crusty as he grunted annoyed "let's wash you up you muddy little piglet" he joked as he went to clean (name) who was half awake and annoyed as Rindō and Sanzu stood over her.
"Oi" Sanzu hissed as he kicked the muddy couch, realistically they could replace everything in here endless times over but that wasn't the point.
Their child.
Their beloved son.
Was left alone while they slept, thankfully the guards watched over him to the best of their abilities without leaving post to much, they knew to not interfere with this as they didn't like the nanny much either, one time they had to step in to protect the Bonten heir as she was losing her mind over him wandering with her phone she wasn't supposed to have out with him (they have dedicated schedules for tv and such for him as they don't want to stunt any emotional development as he learned to self soothe quite early in life) as he got VERY excited about getting to play "daddy" and pretend to talk on the phone.
It usually led to phones ending up in his little overall pockets or down his shirt.
"Wak wak!" (Name) squealed with his little rubber ducks, Mochi had to change the water three times already to get the mud out before (name) was clean, the boy in his little clothes "what happened bud?"
"Mud!" He said happily and Mochi sighed with a smile "yeah, you had a lot of fun with mud today"
(Name) cuddled in his dad's arms as his little head rested on mochis shoulder "there's our little mud monster!" Kakucho said taking the boy as Mikey and Sanzu made calls, the nanny nowhere to be seen.
"Found his clothes!" Koko said holding muddy designer clothes with a pen "I told you to stop buying him the expensive stuff unless it's for events" Takeomi said simply and grunted when the clothes were flung at him "the cleaners will be here in the morning, it would be to loud for (name)" Sanzu grunted as (name) reached for him and Sanzu held him by his little armits "you are so messy!" He playfully yelled at he shook the tot lightly "we wash?"
"...you can half hour cocomelon in my room"

benjamin had considered staying home as he wasn't the most sociable person, but then his love for this town drew him out nonetheless. now, after doing a double take to ensure he wasn't unknowingly mid heat stroke and imagining things, he regretted this decision. in fact, regret washed over him like a tidal wave, nearly knocking him off his feet. it made his heart beat faster, made his hands tremble. memories that he had worked long and hard to suppress came flooding back. overwhelmed, he froze in place as he frantically considered his options.
he could sneak away before he was noticed. this would be his most likely course of action, considering his character. he could go up to the man and attempt a conversation. he wanted to, but merely the thought also made him lightheaded. his first step should be turning away to avoid their eyes meeting, but as he'd taken too long to think about it, it was now too late.
