You know what I think?? I think we need to stop apologizing for not being so active on here constantly — especially in the RPC. People often forget that roleplaying isn't a job. Roleplaying is a hobby. I know I've been bad about this in the past but ... like ... shit happens. Our health comes first. How are we supposed to be at our best and help people if we're at an all time low?? So if going onto your roleplaying blog to post OOC stuff makes you feel better then so be it. Not only that but we're not obligated to explain every little detail about our everyday lives. So you do you and focus on your health first even if it means taking 5 whole ass months (or years, even) off of roleplaying and Tumblr. Because ... let's be real ... as much as we all love and cherish Tumblr it's also a hellhole and extremely stressful at times.

So repeat after me: ROLEPLAYING IS A HOBBY AND NOT A JOB.

friendly reminder to actually socialize and follow fellow roleplayers you're genuinely interested in interacting with / like seeing on your dash. you can't expect every little thing to be handed to you for free just because you're "shy". that's not how the roleplaying community works. not only that but i personally feel like that's a genuine insult to those who actually suffer from social anxiety / agoraphobia / neurodivergent disorders. sometimes you just have break out of your comfort zone and be the bigger person.

now i'm not saying that being shy isn't valid but you have to keep in mind that there are people who are just like you out there in the rpc. you know that feeling you get when someone tells you "hey, i love love love your portrayal! i'd love to interact with you sometime!" it's the greatest feeling in the world. so do your moots a solid and return the favor by telling them how you love their portrayals and the next thing you know the two of you might end up being best friends and permanent rping buddies.

so make sure to reblog your mutuals' promos and ramble about why you love them in the tags. also make sure to look at the blogs your mutuals just promo'ed and see why people follow / interact with them. and, whatever you do, don't forget to read their rules! you need to make sure that the two of you mesh well before interacting!

I’m trying to raise money to assist with legal fees. My dad passed away about a week or so, and we laid him to rest in the family plot in the cemetary. I’m in the process of inhereiting my family home and the best way to do that and be able to pay for it is to inhereit and take over my dad’s retirement fund.

In order to do that, however, I need to finally complete the divorce with my former spouse. I visit with the family court lawyer tomorrow morning and will jumpstart the process then. I have no idea how much it’s going to cost.

i just found out that NYC has a little chain of non-alcoholic wine/liquor stores called Boisson — everything in there is 0.5%ABV or less. the one i just popped into was small but well stocked, and the staff person was friendly and knowledgeable — a big help in picking out a couple bottles for my Tu biShvat seder tomorrow night. spreading the word about them for anyone who needs or wants to explore non-alcoholic beverage options! they seem like a new venture, so i hope they stick around

About physical interactions with Bucky

I have no problem with playing out combat threads. What I don't tolerate is god modding. It's in my rules. It needs to stop, or you will not be interacting with me for much longer.

Meaning if you take a swing at Bucky, you're not going to connect every single time. Unless you decided to hit him in the back of the head while he was sleeping or something.

Even during World War 2. Bucky was and is an amateur boxer in the Army, when he wasn't doing missions with OSS and the Howling Commandos. Seventeen wins in a row. He's trained, and he knows subtle cues on when someone is going to throw a punch, and knows how to either get his arms up to block, or move to dodge.

Now times that times twenty, when Bucky is the Winter Soldier and has seventy more years of black ops missions, training Black Widow and other Russian operatives. He's even better.

Bucky Barnes is one of the best hand to hand fighters in the Marvel Universe, up there with Captain America himself and Black Panther.

So, keep that in mind. My Bucky is not the regular grunt that he is in MCU, he's a mix of comics canon and MCU.

for some reason i felt the need to compile a list of some neat little websites that are of use for us roleplayers.

FSYMBOLS: this site has a ton of symbols and emojis that can be used for tags. it's super neat. FSYMBOLS' FONT GENERATOR: they also have a neat font generator where you can type in anything you want and get a wide variety of different neat results to use for dialogue or even your tags! 10 out of 10 recommend. ALT CODES: much like fsymbols, this website has tons of symbols, letters, and whatnot that can be used not only for tags but also for just typing stuff out. it tells you the alt codes for everything which is hella beneficial. this is especially helpful if you're writing in a language that's not english. PAST TENSES: this site is incredibly beneficial because it tells you synonyms, antonyms, and verb tenses for pretty much any word in the dictionary. this is particularly helpful for those who struggle with vocabulary and / or english isn't your first language. LIST FIST: i, myself, have this website saved because of the bleach episode to chapter conversion list for when i make icons but it has all sorts of other lists on there as well. heck, you can even find other lists of episode to chapter conversion lists for various anime. some include one piece , naruto , naruto shippuden , boruto , dragon ball , etc. just type in ANIME EPISODE TO CHAPTER and see if they have it on there. just don't get too discouraged if they don't have the anime you're looking for on there because there are still tons of other interesting articles on there. MANGASEE: while they don't have every manga under the sun on there they still have quite a few. this is beneficial for those who make icons and gfx! READ COMICS ONLINE: this is incredibly beneficial for those who make icons and gfx for comic books in particular. super neat tbh.

Recent heavy rains have caused some issues with the water table and several of the wells in older portions of the outlying areas of Lewisia have been tainted. Fortunately, local unicorn populations have been hard at work purifying the water and restoring access to neighborhoods and individual homes. We do discourage anyone from deliberately tainting their wells in hopes of luring in unicorns, as they are already busy and some of the fiercer varieties have been know to impale those who annoy them.

Signing the Xenia Declaration!

I wasn’t aware of this beforehand, but now that I know it exists, I just want to let everyone who comes across me and read this blog know that I just signed the Xenia Declaration!

There's a post going around Tumblr about how if you're post-menopausal and have bleeding, you should get it checked by your doctor. I brought some minor bleeding I'd had up in a doctor visit earlier this year, prompted by that post, and this week, after a biopsy, I found out I have cancer. It's early stage and the survival odds at 5 years are 99%. I have an oncologist appointment and we may have caught it early enough that surgery alone will be sufficient treatment (no radiation/chemo).

So that post may have saved my life and it may have made my treatment a lot easier too.

If you get into menopause and then start bleeding again, really, get your reproductive innards checked out. The life you save may be your own.
