|| Hey so,
I just wanted to apologize, I feel like I said things the last days in the tags as a vent that had been inappropriate.
I had let anxiety and self-doubt get the better of me and shouldn’t have done that.
For that, I genuinely apologize. It won’t happen again.

Jegulus head-cannon
their songs are ‘Adore You’ by Harry Styles and ‘I Hate Myself for Loving You’ by Joan Jett & The Blackhearts. You can’t change my mind lol
James getting lost inside Regulus’ eyes
Regulus calling him out and making James ✨flustered✨
Regulus acting like a grownup and James acting like he’s five
James wanting Regulus’ help for a prank and having to pout to get his way. “Please?” “No?” “Pleeeaaassee????” “Fine, but only if you stop whining,”
Regulus actually enjoying the prank
James wanting to help Reggie with his family problems.
PROTECTIVE JAMES
PROVECTIVE REGULUS (but not in the same way as James. Regulus would close him out about stuff going on with his family. This would probably end up in fights 🥲)
Definitely enemies to lovers but also forbidden lovers trope
Regulus being jealous of Lily and thinking that Lily would be better for James than him
Secret study sessions because of the stupid house rivalry 💀💀
In the beginning of their relationship they have a hard time opening up to eachother but when they do it’s comforting
Regulus not wanting to bother James with his home life and James telling him he “just wants to help,”
Play-full competition during quidditch matches
Long talks about quidditch
Longing stares during every meal in the great hall and Sirius asking “What are you staring at, Prongs?”
James calling Regulus “Reggie” all the time and his reason why is “Regulus is too formal,”
Regulus admiring James when he is sleeping and pushing his messy hair out of his face 🥺
Regulus would run away with Sirius and James and Regulus would have more of a chance to be together

aaa gotcha. how much can you say about The Event without giving too much away? is it safe to ask abt the color changes?
So, without giving away too much, The Event was essentially to do with a guy testing on them to bring out latent genes from four generations ago in their family tree which gave them abilities.
The colour changes are due to guy who initially started the the whole thing four generations ago recoding some of the gene so that a certain colour aspect changed if the gene was present, allowing him to find the children of his original test subjects. Because it was previously a latent gene, my main ocs didnt have any colour change until after the testing.

Writeblr Postivity Week Tag Game
I was tagged by both @gingerly-writing and @authoressasusual!
I’ll start with some bonus positivity: I’m almost positive Ginger was one of the first blogs I followed, and on more than one occasion I’ve stopped everything to read her writing. (The Terion & Urial saga? Castle Infinite? That super cute prompt fill that inspired the super cute artwork??) And let’s not even start on her phenomenal, high-concept WIP ideas.
I’m new to following @authoressasusual but I’ve already been impressed by how much love she’s spread during Writeblr Positivity Week! It’s been wonderful reading the positive comments and learning about new WIPs!
What’s your favorite part of the Writeblr Community?
Like many others, it’s the connections I’ve made. Before I created this blog, I tried and failed to write a serious project, not because I wasn’t capable, but because I had no support system. Now, I know that writing is a team sport. Even in stretches of time when I’m too busy to interact, it’s still encouraging to see people sharing their work and cheering others on.
What is something you love about you and your writing?
Two things: First I love the characters I’ve created, and it’s been extremely rewarding watching others love them too. Second, I love the way my writing improves from draft to draft. I spent some time this afternoon reformatting Shark’s Eye and I’m very proud of what I’ve accomplished (with serious help from critique partners and betas!) I’m looking forward to watching my next WIP grow and improve in the same way.
Compliment two writeblrs here! It can be anyone!
One of the coolest things about being on this blog for so long is watching WIPs turn into published novels. @byjillianmaria‘s Songbird was one of the first WIPs I followed. I remember reading the first iteration of the preview chapter, and now, I’ve got the paperback on my bookshelf (which you should totally read, by the way! It’s a fun, atmospheric mystery.) I’m hugely inspired by the process.
I experienced the same thing with Bryn’s Our Bloody Pearl. I know they’re not active on tumblr anymore, but they are active on Twitter, and oh yeah, they also completely saved my WIP from death. They’re the one who identified the one big thing I needed to fix that resolved almost every other issue, and there is no way I would’ve seen query success without their help.
@if-only-we-could-read-it has been cheerleading Shark’s Eye for literal years, and I appreciate every positive comment they’ve ever made. They’ve also done some spectacularly fun worldbuilding in their WIP, The Provect Gene.
@that-one-fandom-chick is a type-o checking extraordinaire, and I feel so much better about my manuscript knowing someone with a good eye gave it a final look.
@eggletine‘s keysmash beta comments gave me LIFE and I’m looking forward to the day when I can leave my own incoherent comments, because his WIPs are all so phenomenally aesthetic. (Dark!!! Academia!!!)
And there are dozens more people I can compliment but I’ll leave it here for now!

The Provect Gene
The Provect Gene is a YA post-dystopia scifi series that’s been started, scrapped and redone several times by yours truly in the past five years. It’s recently finished being (roughly) planned out in its entirety, which is looking to be seven or eight books at this point. I’m currently writing book one for camp nano!
Tumblr media
“Professional” summary
Following a break out of test subjects from the infamous Cyptem labs – a household name that’s become synonymous with advancement – several teenagers end up scattered, running for their lives in a world that doesn’t even know they exist.
But Cyrus didn’t get where he was by lacking in brains or ruthlessness, and he’d do anything to get his experiments back.
When a chance meeting causes the teenagers worlds to collide, they find that they’re not as alone – or as normal – as they previously thought. Now they have to work together to understand their abilities, and maybe even take down Cyrus once and for all.
Featuring:
Superpowers!
An ensemble cast
found family
theres a lot of really fun varied dynamics
A lot of LGBT rep (excluding kids, 18 out of 21 characters are lgbt+ in some way)
A lot of poc rep! including six poc who act as main characters.
Really! Cool! Powers!
accurate depictions of mental illnesses
plenty of angst
healthy romantic relationships
A flat out terrifying villain
a somewhat unintentional bit of commentary on why it’s bad for corporations to start to merge with the government
Seriously, the powers are really cool
The more informal plot:
Basically, Cyrus gathered a bunch of teenagers (through various methods including, but not limited to, murder, manipulation, and bribery) and did some experiments on them to give them super powers. Then, most of them managed to break out, splitting off into smaller groups to try and escape. Heres the catch: they were mostly unaware of their powers until some of the groups collided, and they realised they weren’t as normal as they want to be. Now, they have to try and avoid being recaptured by Cyrus, figure out whats up with their powers, and maybe consider finally taking him down.

To all my fellow pinterest-using writers out there:
I have a lot of pinterest boards. Mainly because I made most of them before the whole ‘sections’ thing became... well, a thing, and I wanted to split the images up depending on character/location/book/etc. But the thing is, I now have a lot of boards for different books that I’d like to seperate up - so all my boards for The Provect Gene just go under that title.
Is there a way to do this? I mean, I know that’s what sections do, but is there a way to move the boards themselves into sections?
if anyone has any idea, i would love to know!

Introducing: The Provect Gene
When Cyrus decided to make a superpowered army, he thought he’d covered every possible issue.
He was not prepared for a complete system failure releasing his teenage experiments back in the world. But now they’re on the run, their worlds colliding inevitably, and discovering they’re not as alone - or normal - as they thought they were.
But Cyrus has a lot riding on this project, and he’s not about to let them run free.
---
Look, I finally made a moodboard for Prov in its entirety! I have like three versions of this just changing the top middle picture and I’m still not sure I’m happy with it, but I’ll take it. For those who don’t know: The Provect Gene, aka Prov, is my main wip. It’s currently being roughly planned out before I jump back into writing it.

Wip summaries
As promised, here is a summary of most of my current wips (not including the provect gene, aka ‘prov’, my main wip on here, the tag for which is here):
Location: Earth
Short summary: A writer/blogger finds an alien who’s recently crashed on earth.
Longer summary: When Namee decides to spend a relaxing week at her brothers, she wasn’t expecting to witness a plane crash – or at least, what looks like a plane crash.
Realising this could be the inspiration she was looking for, she ventures out into the woods in hopes of finding an interesting story. Instead, she uncovers a spaceship, an alien, and a world-ending plot.
Now she has to hide an alien from the government, stop an armageddon, and teach possibly the cutest girl she’s ever met how to act like a normal human. Easy, right?
The Unstoppable Force Paradox (first book in the Paradox duology)
Short summary: Assassin is hired to kill immortal girl, only to end up stuck in a much larger scheme.
Longer Summary: Lois Hyde has never failed a job. Trained from a young age to be an assassin, she knows every trick in the book – and quite a few out of it. But for some reason, this job is different. Something about it just doesn’t add up – not least of all that the target seems like the least threatening person on the planet.
When Lois decides to follow her instincts (and her curiosity), she finds herself drawn into a world of the impossible, where mortal is made immortal, man gains the powers of gods, and her own life is thrown into question.
 The Devil’s in the Details
Short summary: Person who goes out of their way to avoid mixing with the supernatural walks in on teenagers trying to do a summoning ritual, gets stuck with a demon trying to steal her soul.
Longer summary: For her entire life, Evie’s avoided the supernatural. No haunted houses, no walking through fairy rings, no visits to psychics or playing with Tarot cards – just a normal, magic-free life. That’s all she’s ever wanted.
So when she accidentally becomes part of summoning a demon set to take her soul, she refuses to accept her fate. When the rest of the supernatural world decide to intervene, however, things get considerably more complicated.
Faced with an impossible task, Evie’s forced to confront the world she so desperately wanted to ignore - and with it, the truth behind her mother’s death.
 The Fall of the Angels
Short summary: Four teens, two with wings, try to save the world from supernatural forces.
Longer summery: For thousands of years, the Caelibi have co-existed peacefully with humans. One group seeks to change that.
Anna spends most of her time on earth, far from home, doing the job she was raised to do: hunt evil. But as the lines become blurred and her world readies for battle, she finds herself doubting everything she thought she knew.
Thea lives a carefully crafted life, avoiding the politics and drama of her society. When disaster strikes, she finds herself pulled back in, forced to confront truths she’d rather avoid.
When Max is attacked by a demon on an otherwise normal night, his life is changed forever. Awakened to a world he never thought existed, he finds himself at the centre of a conspiracy spanning years and must confront the truths and shadows twisted into his very being.
Kit has always believed there was more to the world than meets the eye, but he never imagined it would be so intricately connected to his own life. When tragedy strikes, he finds himself discovering more and more about his mother’s blurry past – and, in turn, himself.
But they must learn fast, because war is coming, and everyone has a role to play.
 ‘Opposites’
Short summary: Two teenagers discover they’re the ‘personifications’ of good and bad luck, and have to defend themselves from those who want them dead.
Longer summary: I rambled about it here.
 Parasite wip
Short summary: Girl gets infected by a parasite, has to figure out how to survive and get rid of it.
Longer summary: When [protagonist] is unknowingly infected with a parasite on a school trip, her entire life is flipped upside down. Suffering from an onslaught of symptoms, unable to find a cause or cure, she finds herself becoming increasingly more desperate.
When she meets [secondary character], it’s like a breath of fresh air – finally, someone understands what’s happening to her. Introduced to a community of similarly infected people, she finds herself filled with a new found determination – so when [secondary character] suggests they team up to look for a cure, she doesn’t question it for a minute. But what does a cure really mean? Is anyone who they say they are? Who can you trust when your own brain turns against you?
(Basically an allegory for depression.)
Illness wip (potential name: The Miracle Cure)
Short summary: In a false utopia where doctors claim to have found a miracle cure for all diseases, a girl comes down with an illness that can’t be cured. She tries to discover the truth behind the cure.
Long summary: The ‘Miracle Cure’ is supposed to be able to cure anything in the world – as long as you believe it’ll work. If it doesn’t cure you, well, that’s your own fault for not being positive enough.
When Ruby comes down with an incurable illness no one can explain, she’s sent to a Regeneration camp – a place where you’re taught how to ‘think better’ to get the cure to work. Only, people rarely come back.
Once there, Ruby finds herself stuck in her own hell, treated like a lab rat in the name of opening her mind. Upon seeing what really happens behinds the scenes, she can’t help but be suspicious – especially when two other patients share her concerns. Together, they decide to find the truth behind the so-called ‘Miracle Cure’ and the experiments being ran on them, and expose the doctors for what they are.
(Basically an allegory for some kinds of illnesses (and the ‘it’s all in your head, you need to think more positively’ attitude of some people) not that I’m salty).
Fairytale wip
Short summary: Princess gets locked in a tower to wait for her ‘prince’ to rescue her, but her brother doesn’t trust them so he goes to rescue her with the help of the castle mage.
Longer summary: (I don’t really have a nice blurb-shaped summary for this so bear with me) The day after her eighteenth birthday, the Princess and heir of a far away kingdom was sent away to a tower, where she was to be hidden away until a worthy suitor could slay the dragon and go and rescue her from the tower.
Her brother, however, recognised that all of these guys were selfish and just in it to marry his sister, and that none of them would be brave enough to slay the dragon. So, after recruiting the castle Mage into helping him, he sets off on his own journey to free his sister from her imprisonment.
There’s also the detective wip and the werewolf wip (tag here but it’s mostly empty), both of which are in the ‘rambling on social media about them’ stage, and a few high fantasy novels that I’m still working on/planning. I also have Phosphor, my idea for a comic, that has it’s own tag, but that I’m probably not going to talk about in detail for a while.
Which concludes this tour of my wips! Since Prov is currently in the planning stage, I’m planning to talk about my other wips a lot more, so please feel free to send me asks on these!

Camp Nano Day 3
My goal for April is to add at least 25,000 words to The Provect Gene, my current wip which finally has a (mostly) coherent plan.
I wrote twice as much as I need to again! Which is great, because I’m 100% going to start losing steam later. Anyway, today I bit the bullet and started rewriting the start to have the actual plot, and I finished the first chapter! So I think there’s only like... one and a half chapters between here and what I wrote yesterday, and then I can skip ahead a little and start actually writing chronologically. Which is the goal, tbh.
Daily Word Count Goal: 833
Total Word Count Goal: 2500

Camp Nano Day 2
My goal for April is to add at least 25,000 words to The Provect Gene, my current wip which finally has a (mostly) coherent plan.
So, after not being able to write anything yesterday, I was kind of worried about today, but it went better than expected! I managed to reach my word count for both days combined, which is obviously fantastic. Is it absolutely terrible, below even first-draft-quality writing? Yes. Is it still writing? Yes!
I managed to connect the main body of what I’ve currently written (which... is 90% going to be scrapped, but whatever) to the next scene I’d written, which I couldn’t figure out before.
Daily Word Count Goal: 833
Total Word Count Goal: 1666
Words Written Today: 1788
Words Written In Total: 1788
I don’t have a great excerpt to post, because my writing today was all very iffy, but I do like this line:

Camo Nano Day 9-12
My goal for April is to add at least 25,000 words to The Provect Gene, my current wip which finally has a (mostly) coherent plan.
Anyway, I forgot to do these updates again! These are getting harder to do than the actual writing.
I got no writing done on the 11th, because again I was hanging with friends (we’ve been playing Borderlands 2 because I recently got the Handsome pack, and I’m already in love with this game. save me.), but thats the main reason I bulked up on my word count at the start. I planned for this decline in organisation.
Anyway, I wrote a lot of long conversations, with everyone trying to adjust to their new situation, and at the same time get to know each other. I was worried about it being too long for this part of the book, and while I’ll probably have to cut some stuff out, because that’s editing, it’s only ~45 pages worth of stuff. So it’s not too bad, given where we are in the story and that it’s a long series.
I didn’t do as well on the 10th, but I did great on the 9th and yesterday, so its evens out, I guess!
Daily Word Count Goal: 833 | 833 | 833 |833
Total Word Count Goal: 10,000
Words Written Today: 2042 | 753 | 0 | 3567
Words Written In Total: 16804
There’s nothing really quotable from the 9th, but from the rest...

Camp Nano Day 5
My goal for April is to add at least 25,000 words to The Provect Gene, my current wip which finally has a (mostly) coherent plan.
This is coming half a day late because I was really tired last night, and barely got the writing done, let alone managed to make this post. But! It was again a good day (for quantity not quality) and I’m now fully caught up to the part I wrote on the second of April. Which means after this, I can start writing some new stuff. Which is as exciting as it is nerve wreaking (although to be fair, the new start of the book is basically entirely new anyway, so...). Also, I’ve already ebat my word count for day 8. Three days early.
If I end up having more that 15000 words by the 15th, I’m going to up my goal to 30000 words by the end of the month, because I’m on a role.
Daily Word Count Goal: 833
Total Word Count Goal: 4166
Words Written Today: 1704
Words Written In Total: 6887
I don’t have any quotes to share today, sadly, because none of it was that interesting, and it was kind of exposition-y.
