A new gene editing technique called prime editing, tested in human and mouse cells, rewrites DNA by only cutting a single strand to add, remove, or replace base pairs. The method may allow researchers to edit more types of genetic mutations than existing genome-editing approaches such as CRISPR-Cas9. The technology, called prime editing, has been described as a "genetic word processor" able to accurately re-write the genetic code. It has been used to correct damaging mutations in the lab, including those that cause sickle cell anaemia. Depois do Fim do Mundo tem um roteiro muito parecido com muitos filmes de ficção científica do qual a humanidade é desolada por uma ameaça natural e precisa de reconstruir das cinzas (neste caso literalmente). Escrita e desenhada John Byrne, a HQ conta a história de uma tripulação espacial que vê a terra ser atingida por uma erupção solar, que praticamente dizimou a vida na terra, pelo menos na maior parte dela. Isolados no espaço e sem muitas opções, o grupo decide descer ao que restou do planeta em busca de sobreviventes, além de continuar suas vidas. O roteiro é uma mistura de The Walking Dead, mas sem as grandes sacadas violentas de Robert Kirkman, com filmes como O Dia Depois de Amanhã, porém com menos clichês e mais cenários do que a mesma NY sendo palco da catástrofe (aqui ela também aparece, mas não é o cenário protagonista da obra). Mas ainda que fuja de alguns, ainda existem muitos clichês na trama, mas que não atrapalham a leitura de forma alguma. Byrne escreve muito bem e de forma coesa, tornando diálogos longos e científicos em coisas breves e objetivas, até porque a esta é uma publicação de edição única. Os traços da HQ são já típicos do autor. Você provavelmente se lembrará da saudosa era Byrne por X-Men e outros clássicos. Eu particularmente gosto muito da arte dele, pois a forma como ele trabalha detalhes, luz e sombra, ao mesmo tempo que não te deixa esquecer aquilo é uma história em quadrinhos é fascinante. Um artista que consegue ser reconhecido apenas pelo seu traço bem feito e característico merece ser prestigiado. Enfim, pra concluir temos o bom e já tradicional acabamento da Mythos, que nesta publicação está com o selo Prime Edition.
