Academy Award Winners for Best Cinematography:
2005 ā Robert Richardson, ASC
The Aviator (2004)
Directed by Martin Scorsese
Aspect Ratio: 2.39 : 1
āPrior to my involvement, Marty designed a color timeline that influenced every creative department. He wanted the progression from a two-color palette to a three-strip palette to approximate the technological advances of the film industry at that time, but more importantly, he felt it would mirror the charactersā emotional evolution. The first act, which covers Hughesās early career in Hollywood, was supposed to have Technicolorās two-color look. With the second act, which begins after Hughes sets a speed record flying across the continental United States [in 1937] and goes with Katharine Hepburn to Connecticut, we transition to that vibrant, three-strip look that most of us associate with the glorious Technicolor years. Then, when Hughes almost dies crashing the XF-11, we were going to cut into a more contemporary look without either Technicolor process applied.āĀ

Whatās your favorite Sydney Sweeney role so far?
Still Cassie on Euphoria, I havenāt seen Immaculate or The Voyeurs though. Anyone But You was v cute but not my favv of hers. She was also good in Sharp Objects but like that was like a couple scenes max.

Its so hypocritical because if all the reviews were great stans would be throwing that in peoples faces like emily dickinson reincarnated best songwriter of her generation bleh but now that a lot of the response is critical its all she did this for her not for the critics and she sharing it with us its not about acclaim or money LOL. best fandom for moving goalposts.
Sigh yeah itās frustrating that these things matter so much to fandoms and like this isnāt the only one but itās overwhelmingly prevalent in the online fandom for her yeah. Itās ajdjsjdjs

this substack piece by a journalist who was mistakenly identified as the writer of a negative ttpd review, and harassed as a consequence, is so good, especially this part:
For many, the nature of fandom is one of identity, a sole marker not only of oneās taste but of their ethics.Ā [...] Their followers must protect at all costs, with no room for doubt. It's tedious and the implicit demand for a cultural hegemony that prizes unflinching commitment over the true curiosity of art, to use an academic term, f*cking sucks.
also the way she touches on gamergate, how we see this in basically every large fandom, how fans know they can control editorial decisions, the way this reflects how internet culture wars lead to radicalization, how there is no way to balance or fix this in sight.

i think itās the rabidity of it all like saying āmaybe she couldāve edited to make 15 really strong good songs instead of 31 all over the place songs that sometimes lack qualityā and suddenly youāre like the equivalent of that guy who keeps sleeping in her bed in her house with a knife and shit. like. itās fine if you like it itās fine if you dislike it iām in the middleeeee. oh my god iām slowly becoming more and more leftist politically and more centrist as a swiftie.

Im not sure if you got my other ask but i finally listened through the whole album and anthology and im just surprised that i like this album even less than midnights I didnt think that was possible. Ill send some memes or write up something more concise but my overall i think these albums are too much and too little at the same time.
I didnāt get your other ask sadly :( but thank you for coming back omg and oh my godā¦ yeah me too. I donāt dislike it but itās exactly itās underwhelming and overwhelming (31 songs!) at the same time. Sigh. I mean like Iām still listening to it but not as much as I usually do w a new Taylor album and I even skipped some songs on my first listen through which Iāve literally never done w her? I mean you donāt have to be super concise when she wasnāt but aidjsjdjs no I get it. Iām trying to just enjoy it but Iām frustrated w the fandom like flipping out over not even bad but mediocre or ācould be betterā reviews. It absolutely could be better and Pitchfork was generous lol.
