Okay but I don't see ANYONE talking about this scene where Care is placed in the machine and, instead of playing Care's Melody, Paul plays Paul's Melody, and CARE TURNS INTO A FUCKING EGG.
Not only that, it seemed to me like Paul felt almost uncomfortable when attempting to play Care's Melody. He couldn't eve get past the first note. It seemed like it didn't feel right to him. But with playing Paul's Melody, there's almost a kind of confidence in it. Or acceptance that this is the melody he should be playing.
And then of course Care becomes the egg which, mind you, is covered with yellow and red: the colors representative of both Care and Paul within the series.
IDK if you can get any more trans than that I'll be so honest

one of the many reasons i love the bi paul headcanon (???) is how it’s a fuck you to stereotypes. “bi people are adventurous” “queer men are theatrical” “bi people are sluts”. no. here’s a guy who has lived in his hometown his whole life, hates musicals, and has one canon love interest across three musicals. he is awkward and tired and unsociable and will not see mamma mia. and he swings both ways but he won’t participate in the company softball league.

Two people who understand each other deeply. The power they hold over each other's hearts. the trust between them. That's why I keep reading books. It fascinates me.
