Day 3: Dress
Papyrus just smiles and shakes his head because, for all the time the two of them have spent together, Mettaton still just doesn’t quite seem to understand that this is Papyrus’ favorite part of Mettaton. It isn’t the suave part. It isn’t the famous part. It isn’t the part that takes him to fancy restaurants. It isn’t the part that sings pitch perfect on CDs. It isn’t the part that poses for paparazzi just right. It isn’t the part that knows how to do the perfect smokey eye. It isn’t the part that knows how to behave just right in each social situation, though, that part has been unbelievably helpful.
No. This is his favorite part. This part right here.
I'm so sorry I'm late! I'm gonna try to catch up! I just got so tired last night and I couldn't finish in time! I also really, really wanted to get this just right.
I'm feeling a lot better than I was earlier this week which also means I'm not just writing and convalescing. I'm back at chasing my toddler around and doing other work. XD

I commented on this Undertale fanfic that I'm doing, if laziness allows, I'll post it here, it's just a classic highschool au, with a little more drama and adult content (not sexual) just more serious subjects than teen romance with slightly questionable twists... I'll be posting on the @littlethong Wattpad account since I don't have an account... And I don't want to either as I'm not really into social media

I realized a couple of days ago that it's been quite a while since I released an update on Walls 2.0 so here's one now.
progress has been... slow, unfortunately, mostly due to the stress of living under capitalism lol. I'm hoping with the recent changes I'm making to my life, I'll be able to slip back into working on it.
at this point, I can't really project when Walls will come back. I have a date that I would like to start posting again, but I'm not going to say what it is so nobody will get their hopes up and then get disappointed.
what I can tell you is that the Papyton story has been broken into five (5!) individual fics. I just felt this was easier for me than keeping everything as one ginormous fanfic.
@autisticasgore and I have been working off and on to develop the extended universe, and admittedly this is honestly where the bulk of my focus has been, aside from also working on Papyrus and Mettaton's backstories. the 5 Papyton fics, which make up what I call the actual Walls series, don't go into detail about their pasts (ie there are rarely true flashbacks), so there are several planned prequels regarding Papyrus and Mettaton specifically (6, actually, at the moment...). then, we also have sequels planned! these stories, though, don't wholly focus on Papyrus and Mettaton, though they are very major characters. I won't say who else they're about, that's a surprise.
in addition, the Papyrus and Mettaton focused prequels are not the only prequels we are planning--we also have some backstory planned for other characters, including OCs!
now of course, for the most part, the actual Walls series is going to be prioritized. that being said, the first story Pixie and I are planning to publish within the Walls Cinematic Universe, as I like to call it, is NOT going to be one of the 5 fics--it's going to be one of the prequels. once that story is finished, the 5 fic series will be next up, and then we'll be releasing prequels and sequels as it makes sense to do so.
as I said, no planned release date as of this moment, but I do hope it'll be sooner rather than later.
sorry for the lack of updates! if I have anything to report on in the future, I'll be sure to do it. you are also perfectly fine to ask questions about progress on everything if you want, just don't be demanding lol.

Hey, this is all my personal opinion and if you ship any of these then good for you its your opinion as well and no matter how badly I'll rate these ships please don't let this stop you of shipping it :)
Plus no AUs included for I am not an AU fanatic. Anywho, let the ratings begin!
Frans, Frisk x Sans: Ah yes, the most popular of the fandom and probably more adored than Alphyne... Now my ranking is an 2/10. My reason? First Frisk is an child, its been hinted alot in the game, their sprite and their official art already looks child like. Sans is somewhere around his 30s and its already weird enough... And aging them up to ship them with Sans??? No thank you please. And plus it isn't the worst that I've seen in this fandom so good for you Frans.
Chans, Chara x Sans: Same reason as Frans 2/10
Papyryne, Papyrus x Undyne: Their friends guys, FRIENDS. Its kinda cute I gotta admit but really their just good friends nothing more than that. 3/10
Muffet x Grillby ( idk their ship name ) I see the concept but won't Grillby might accidently burn the spiders? 5/10
Grillby x Sans ( also dont know their ship name ) I like the concept and it does makes sense to me. 6/10
Charisk, Chara x Frisk: I do believe in the narra chara theory buuut I really see them as friends and really I don't feel anything about them being together.. Its really a no. 3/10
Charsriel, Chara x Asriel: I KNOW THEIR ADOPTED BUT NO, JUST NO. TOMATO POTATO SIBILINGS ARE SIBLINGS DINGUS. 0/10
Asgoriel, Asgore x Toriel: I used to ship them together but now I'm kinda iffy since Toriel has her boundaries and I respect that. If they will have some romantic interactions or if she's ok with him then hell yeah I'll ship them but for now its a no. 5/10
Soriel, Sans x Toriel: Controversial opinion, but I kinda like it y'know. Sans was there for her when she needed it the most, their pun buddies and at one of the neutral endings they became roommates so thats cute. I personally see them as friends but its a cute ship. 7/10
Grillster Grillby x Gaster: uhhh they never met but, the fanfics are good and I really like seeing them interacting with each other y'know. but still 2/10
Papyton, Papyrus x Mettaton: Like the concept but no 4/10
Blookyton, Nabstablook x Mettaton: They might be cousins just saying... 0/10
Friskriel, Frisk x Asriel: I know they saved him in pacifist but no. 2/10
The royal guards, 01 and 02: Their seriously underrated like why does nobody talk about these two??? WHY????? 100/10
Alphyne, Undyne x Alphys: I've been saving these two for the last. 100/10 do I even need to explain myself?

Papyton Fanfiction Playlists
I've shipped this for so, so long, but I've never gotten the courage to post in the fandom much. I hope I'm not being too annoying posting in this tag. I know I'm late to the game, but better late than never right?
These playlists will likely have music added/ edited based on new content to my fanfic ("Perhaps Love") and/or new things I discover in writing this ship.
Perhaps Love - a playlist of all the music that has/will be included in my Papyton fan fiction and/or has influenced the fic significantly.
"My Memories of Love Will Be of You" - the Papyton Ship playlist. Many of these songs have influenced how I write my personal Papyton headcanons and ship. There's some overlap between this playlist and "Perhaps Love," but this is explicitly a ship playlist, and it is what I'm using for writing the shippier parts of the fic. :D

Papyton for the ship ask?
What made you ship it?
I don't quite remember; I think I read some fanfics that made me open to the idea, and it kind of incubated for a couple of years as I got to know more about the characters... and then, in 2018, I boarded the ship and never looked back.
2. What are your favorite things about the ship?
These two are dramatic dorks who can easily help each other become better people (Mettaton can give Papyrus more confidence, Papyrus can help Mettaton understand that people love him as a person, not just as a celebrity) and get into all kinds of silly shenanigans on the way.
3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
I don't think the "Sans threatens Mettaton for dating Papyrus" trope is funny. Don't tell me he wouldn't tease them with a ton of puns and/or try to set up romantic situations for them.

Changes to Stardrops & Hotcats (PLEASE READ)
FIRST OFF: If you are a regular of my blog or fanfic, I apologize for the last serious post. I hope I didn’t freak anyone out, it was a little inconsiderate to essentially ghost y’all. Life has been throwing a lot my way this year, you might already know about me having to deal with some deaths in my private life... and you probably already know about the housefire crap lmao. The good news, is that our house wasn’t burned to a crisp. The bad news, is that my grandfather on my dad’s side died very unexpectedly a few weeks ago.
I sadly never got to bond with him like I had with my grandmother from the other side of my family, but it was hard watching my father struggle with the loss. Him and my grandfather had a troubled relationship, but they still very much loved each other. I wasn’t in the right headspace to continue with the story, for obvious reasons.
To move on to a happier topic, I do want to announce a small- but pivotal- change I’m making to the story.
If you were a reader the first few days after S&H was born, you might remember “Papyton” being previously tagged on AO3. If you haven’t noticed, that is no longer the case. However, there is still this tag:
This change is due to me making the decision to abandon the romantic subplot between Papyrus and Mettaton. I still want to write some scenes where their platonic chemistry will shine, but I am without a doubt not interested in writing them interacting romantically.
Most people won’t care, but for the rare few who were drawn to the story for this ship, you may be wondering... why?
Well... I have been brainstorming more original characters that will appear later in the story. Some will be pretty important, and one of those special characters have been on my mind as I continue to develop them. To not give too much away, if there is a romantic subplot going forward, I want it to feel natural. My asexual butt already has enough of a hard time writing anything kissy feely, and I’m honestly not capable of writing the previous dynamic in a way that feels right to me.
If that announcement doesn’t matter to you, then maybe you’ll be more happy to know that the fanfic will be updated sometime early next week!!!! The next chapter is about 80-90% done, and any small delay will be because of spell-checking and etc. Make sure to keep checking AO3 and this blog, because I tend to post updates on both platforms.
I will keep being active on Tumblr and AO3, so any questions or comments left on either site will be read by me.
