Hello. Here is in drawing form the follow up for the writing project. It didn't go as planned, started badly and then a week ago my cat died. It disturbed things and that's a euphemism. I still wanted to finish, so I drew and painted the small sketches, I have a sketches for "Celebration" in the making. It'll be late but we'll. it'll be done. I don't know for the written form, I want to finish it too besides in the tradition, the Ukrainian one today goes with Christian timeline and ia in january. I'll see I have other projects I like.
So here all the painted sketches. Each took an element of paganism, celtic and ukrainian.
The first is Eld and the goat (fermented drinks, celtic). Goat Ukrainian.
Tumblr media
Then we have Petra and the Mistletoe (Celtic) I redid it a hundred time it's still not good but deal with it. I am done with that one.
Tumblr media
Gunther carrying loads of decorations, the music instruments are a reference to the Ukrainin tradition of going from house to house with music instruments singing carols.
Tumblr media
Following that tradition usually papier maché suns on sticks were carried during those tours to sing. The ukrainian Koliadà is about he rebirth of the sun and the celtic one is als very light and dark and rebirth of the light. Interesting isn't it?
Tumblr media
Then we have the pinecones. Celtic one. Oluo is the one here.
Tumblr media
Decoration. Not a specific tradition. Petra and Eld and a pinecone. Yeah he is supposed to be leaning on a fireplace. It's a conceptual abstract Kandinsky fireplace. And her skirt is a very very simplifiedd version of a skirt from Revintaria. Slow fashion indie brand of handmade clothes from Poland. (Her shirt too is inspired by some of theirs. Salem for the cut, in particular).
Tumblr media
Now our dear Oluo still braving the cold, with his pinecones on his shoulder, for the tree (Evergreen, celtic tradition). With a Levi because why not them doing stuff together too?
Tumblr media
Oak log and Eld. Celtic BUT the ukrainian too has a log thing for the bonfire. Bonfires plural for the ukrainian because they light them several months whilst going on tours to sing carols to people.
Tumblr media
Mulled wine. Ukrainian. Yeah fermented goat milk and mulled wine. They're gonna drink a lot.
Tumblr media
Feast. Celtic, Ukrainian too. For the dead (I believe the celtic is the same idea of honoring the dead with the feast). Eld and Gunther. yeah they look extra long, they too decided to go into space and became extra elastic as a result. (I don't remember exactly did they go into space or was it a lab thing? for the fantastic 4). a little disappointed by the picture, the perspective doesn't show well. The depth is better in real life, here the blue is washed out quite a bit.
Tumblr media
Then Holly, celtic. Oluo sewing, bc lots of brothers and sisters and why not? I HC him as good for sewing, in particular small precise stuff, embroideries, etc. Petra bigger stuff, Gunther knitting (Oluo too!). Eld not so much, basic stitching of humans and rough on tissues but not more. Again the picture washed the colors out a lot and the contrast doesn't show well, on that one it's already not the best irl so here... sorry, not the best.
Tumblr media
I believe they are all here. Celebration is missing, I'll do it for tomorrow, I won't paint it in 16 minutes. I wanted to do an after celebration too but meh don't know I have other projects in mind.
I had fun even if the end result is just colored sketches and not very good. But I had fun and learnt a lot and it's a project I finished even if it's not like I first envisioned it.
Last words : I miss my cat. A lot. Really really miss him...
*Koliadà my researches say that yes, today it's in January, because it merged with christianism but it's originally for the witner solstice!

Christmas: A Not-So-Christian Holiday
How is Christmas pagan? O ho ho, let me count the ways!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Date
December 25th isn't Jesus' birthday. The date of Jesus' birthday is never given in the Bible (though in 336 CE it was made his official birthday), and historians believe that if Jesus was a real person he would have been born in spring or summer.
December 25th is the day of Saturnalia, a Roman holiday celebrating the winter solstice (and also possibly the birthday of the sun god Mithra).
Christmas Trees
The Bible explicitly says that bringng in trees and decorating them is taboo because they're a pagan custom (Jeremiah 10:3-4).
And sure enough, bringing outdoor plants inside for the solstice is a tradition found in several pagan traditions. The tradition as we know it came from Germanic paganism by way of Prince Albert when he married Queen Victoria.
Tree Ornaments
The traditional red balls hanging from the tree hearkens back to the aforementioned Germanic tree tradition, as they would decorate the trees with apples.
Mistletoe
That comes from Druidic tradition. The Druids believed mistletoe was an all-powerful healing item from the sacred oak tree. If you met someone in the forest you gave them the sign of peace under the mistletoe, so people started to hang mistletoe above their doorways as a symbol of peace.
Hanging mistletoe in doorways was such a powerful symbol of paganism that medieval English churches actually banned its use.
Caroling
Caroling comes from a pagan tradition called wassailing where people would gather to sing in apple orchards to awake the cider apple trees and to scare away evil spirits to ensure a good harvest of fruit in autumn.
Gift-Giving
Gift-Giving on birthdays was extremely taboo in Christianity for a very long time -- and as Christmas is supposedly Jesus' birthday, giving gifts was NOT a thing.
The tradition of gift-giving in December comes from Saturnalia.

Celebrate Beyond Ritual: NeoPagan High Day Traditions
In the last year, and for much of my time as a Pagan, I have celebrated the High Days, or Neopagan holidays, through ritual. While a lot of what Pagans *do* is ritual, it should by no means be *all* that we do. On the internet, you can find very generic articles about how to celebrate a high day. Usually they include decorating an altar and taking a walk in nature. Sometimes you find people…

Everyday witchy tips
Not everyone has time for daily spells or rituals, here are some witchy acts to incorporate a bit of magic into your day!
Glamour magic while getting ready for the day, while washing your face first thing in the morning imagine washing away all negative thoughts. Draw sigils with sunscreen/daycream/foundation on your face, incorporate color magic (eyeshadow, lipstick, nails). Braid your hair with an intention for the day (being protected against harm, attracting luck etc.)
Color magic while getting dressed; red for confidence and strength, yellow and orange for happiness and energy, green for attracting luck and abundance, blue for focus and communication, pink for (self)love, purple for intuition and wisdom, black for protection, white for purity and protection. Gold jewelry for the sun, succes and prosperity, and silver jewelry for the moon and intuition.
Drinking herbal tea, start the day with a warm cup of tea. This can be made with fresh herbs from the garden, or from tea bags. Stir clockwise with a teaspoon or the teabag it self to put an intention in your tea for the day.
Crystals in pockets, bags, even your bra. Choose an crystal for the day, charge it with it’s intention and carry it with you.
Shielding from negative energies, imagine being surrounded by a white light that protects you. Or have a short mantra that you can say to yourself or in your head when needed, this can be as simple as 'I am protected against negative energies in any shape or from'
Showering, washing any lingering energy, thoughts or negative feelings away from the day. If you have trouble imagining negative energy washing off you in a color, see the soap you are washing off as this energy. Watch it flow away from you into the shower drain.

Hi, I wrote a thing, another one, in reality, I just didn’t think to put the first one here. Anyways, I had an idea of a sort of advent calendar of sort of preparations for the winter solstice festival, like the whole Levi squad. The one each day isn’t working but I still can do as I can. Here is the first OS, I have drawings too but I don’t know... I... I don’t know if I have the energy and bravery to face the stress of posting things I know are not very good. Here is the link for the text. (I should maybe put the first one too ^^’) The first one is a Rivetra story, that one is more general. As a Rivetra shipper, I, of course, will introduce them, even if just implicitly, but I didn’t tag them on AO3, I want other people to read that story and unfortunately, people hate Rivetra so much that I was afraid they’d refuse to read it if they saw the tag. And they are not the main focus.

And sorry if I didn’t interact with a lot of people recently, I am not in a very good place and am very tired and very busy. I’ll try to do better.

Pshh, hey. If you are in a budget or if you have to hide your practice, I have some witchy tips for you.
• You don’t need to have an altar. But if you want to, creating an altar on a wooden box is great; you can collect stuff to put in there and you can hide it under your bed.
• You don’t need crystals. Common rocks can be energised to act with a certain intention and they work just as well. You can also associate the place you got the stone/rock from with an intention, such as: a rock from a river or sea can be used for cleansing, purifying, taking energies away from you. A stone found at the property of a hospital can be used for health spells. These are vague examples, so I might make a list later on of all kinds of things you can do with mineral founding.
• Energised water is a great offering to most entities. Water holds memory and it’s easy to energise it with a certain intention if you concentrate.
• You don’t actually need candles. For many deities, an object that remembers you of them works as a taglock, an identification of the deity you’re worshipping. Besides, many spells do not need candles to work, such as: ritual baths, petitions, etc.
Have fun, and remember that your practice isn’t meant to look the same as other practitioners’. We are supposed to do things our own way, as long as it doesn’t harm anyone or anything.
