The texture, which I'm assuming is a corduroy of some sort because of the weight and drape of it, is phenomenal! I even like the tie-dye blue! It's nothing too crazy that would make it an eye-sore but enough to give the suit a little somethin somthin. And the cut of it — 💀 I adore it. It's giving 1940s men's lounging robes:

Danny did his best to be the best big brother possible, he helped his little brother learn and train to be the best, even if he knew what it meant. He protected Damian through thick and thin, and as he stared down at the corpse of his grandfather's enforcer in the sand he knew he'd just signed his own death warrant.

Danny had seen it coming for a while, even as the oldest son he'd never been what grandfather had expected of him, too soft and moral. He suspected that was why mother had Damian in the first place, to replace him as heir- and he never held it against his little brother. But stepping in the way of Grandfather's punishment for Damian would not go unnoticed, this would be the last way he would protect his little brother for a very long time.

Daniel turned to Damian, tears coming to his eyes as he wipes the blood and viscera off his hands and out from under his nails. "I can't stay." He saw his little brother's hands ball up as he started to shake. "I'm sorry, if you ever need a place to hide, then come find me."

Years later, Damian struggles to find purpose after the death of his father, and rather than be Robin to Dick's Batman he goes on a cross country road trip to find his big brother who would do anything to protect him.

But when Bruce comes back from being stuck in the time stream, Damian introduces him to his eldest son. They get along fine at first, but then some goon tries to kidnap Damian Wayne for the ransom money, and Danny gets there first.

I’m sorry but there’s just something so visceral and horrifying about a teenager sawing heads off people in a display for power.

Were they bad people? Yes. Did they deserve it? Probably. Did it send a message? Absolutely. Is it still horrifying? Heck yeah.

Just—- knowing Jason and his background, it’s just so heartrendingly tragic. I don’t even think he liked doing it, I’m just imagining him having to throw up afterwards before putting his helmet back on and playing tough crime lord again. The amount of self loathing he must feel whenever he thinks too hard about his actions. Falling asleep and seeing that—

Just— emotional repercussions, man. They’re real…

i find it funny how the introduction to thanzag is literally than being like "YOU LEFT...... WITHOUT SO MUCH AS TELLING ME GOODBYE….." and zag being like "IM SORRY..... I HAD TO....…" like theyre so fucking loud. then fast forward to mel & moros starting off so like. normal and me occasionally going like (squint)..... was that flirting? i cant quite tell. ive got my eye on you two nerds

i know it’s because thanzag already had history by the start of the game, and mel & moros have just met, but man it’s hilarious to me

whether you're falling for dazai's façade or simply dismissing his feelings and actions as fake because you don't like him or whatever i just want you to know that when you say he doesn't care about people you do not know what you're talking about. no discussion about it. you just don't. how do you have the gall to even suggest that when that man is where he is now because he followed his friend's dying words. when he still holds on to the betrayal from the one that completed their trio to the point where there's very obvious bitterness in his treatment of him. when he treats chuuya so gently as he nullifies corruption. that man thinks of himself as less than human when he's one of the most human characters solely due to his complex emotions and because of the way he navigates his relationships. please do not try to tell me that he doesn't care when his reason of being is his interactions with others; which is true for anyone, but especially for him.

There’s a weird recurring take in D20 fan circles that Zac doesn’t play “complex” characters and that people are just waiting for the day when he “finally” plays an asshole, which kind of baffles me.  Quite apart from the idea that only morally grey characters are complex or compelling, are you sure we’re watching the same show?

In Fantasy High, we have Gorgug, an adopted biracial teenager whose journey includes realizing his self-worth, coming to terms with his rage (literally), seeking out and navigating new relationships with others (his birth parents, the Bad Kids, Zelda), and discovering what he’s capable of. 

From The Unsleeping City we have Ricky, a second-generation Japanese-American, who has a very personal struggle across two seasons between doing the dutiful/sacrificial thing for other people’s benefit and expressing his own needs, wants, thoughts, and feelings; it’s a very particular exploration of immigrant generations and the relationship between the sacrificial model of your ancestors and the culture you grew up surrounded by which emphasizes the self.

There’s A Crown of Candy and Lapin, whose snark and one-liners are honestly less interesting than the way he engaged with and sought to understand religion and faith; the different yet similar ways in which both the Sugar Plum Fairy and the Church exerted control over their followers, and the search for spiritual meaning beyond these figures/institutions.

Then there’s Cumulous, whose every character aspect navigates a space of tension - the ultimate war guy who made himself hardened (literally) and pragmatic to get the job done but who also remains soft and caring and empathetic at the same time; wielding the power of death without glorifying or giving into it; the cousin who both is a member of the family and yet who remains at somewhat of a distance from the centre; a literal warrior-philosopher who is single-minded in battle and quietly thoughtful about the mysteries of life and death outside of it.

As for actual assholes, we have Norman Takamori in A Starstruck Odyssey, a bitter man who is the living embodiment of both the Superior Orders excuse as well as scapegoating.  On a side note, the amount of absolute vitriol and double standards which people threw at Norman during ASO for being an unapologetic asshole -and he had less than two full episodes of screen time- kind of underscores the calls for Zac to play a “real” asshole.  Zac can and will play whatever type of character he wants, but is fandom really ready for him to play an asshole if that asshole doesn’t have a secret heart of gold?

From the same season, we have Valdrinor/Skip, who starts as the “prince running from his destiny” archetype with a dash of brain slug possession, has a humorous yet oddly profound exploration of what humanity is and what it means to be human, and springboards from there into “wait, who am I really and actually, why are we doing things (brain slug possession) this way when there are other ways to engage with the universe.” 

Most recently in Neverafter, we have Pib, who apart from the fascinating meta element of being a literal character archetype, constantly straddles the line between self-absorbed self-interest and putting himself on the line to help others; his repeated demonstration of both at various points throughout the season is a subtle yet intriguing manifestation of free will and choice-making in a story all about lacking free will and agency.

So, I mean, lack of complexity where?  Does a character need to be an asshole in order to be deep or compelling?  And because I’ve heard this specific rebuttal quite a few times now, does a character need to vocalize their innermost thoughts loudly and frequently in order to prove their complexity?  If a character is “less vocal” compared to other characters, does that mean they lack interiority? 

Also, other people have brought this up before, but I am once again asking that people remember the difference between fictional characters and real life people.  Zac playing one (1) himbo on the show does not make him a himbo in real life, nor does it make him incapable of creating or playing complex characters (especially as said himbo is himself an extremely complex character), nor does it make him a lesser player than other cast members.  You don’t have to find all or any of his characters interesting or complex, but can we stop conflating character with player?

If I had a penny for every time the second case of an ace attorney game had the murderer turn out to be a nurse who shot their former boss over a medical malpractice incident from a while back and framed a teenager from a well-known/infamous family for it, and the case also introduced a german prosecutor who was/is a teen prodigy and wants take on the defense attorney that took down their brother, I'd have two pennies, which isn't a lot but it's weird it all happened twice

My Sad Victorian Children! aka anime/manga set in a victorian setting that I enjoy lol, I have been wanting to play with a more or less childrens book style so this is me playing with that. This is just the start of this im slowly expanding it out. But first up we have Moriarty The Patriot and The Royal Tutor which is surprisingly set close to the time period.

Going to slowly expand this series out o.o do tell me if anyone knows of some more series I can add. I love reading things in this sort of setting so I would be open to tacking it on :3

i might regret this deeply and delete this in the morning but the whole obsession with pearl and gems shipping boundaries and how they recently changed is literally the most blatant example of ""boundaries"" being more about policing the fandom than care for the creators especially in pearls case.

I used to be very headstrong about Respecting The Creators so I actually dug around for actual things that they said and Pearls only mention of shipping before was on a deleted stream clip where she specifically calls out assumably someone IN CHAT making allusions to her relationship with grian as like. Actual content creators. The transcript even had a section of her saying that "some people do it for fanfiction and stuff and that's fine(...) but please don't bring it into streams that's not appropriate" or something like that.

I can't say for sure her exact wording or be certain of the context or even provide proof that this happened at all because THE ONLY surviving evidence of it is someone's random transcript. In which she literally says shipping is okay.

But because the fandom loves to play this weird fucked up game of telephone it somehow became pearl is uncomfortable with shipping which is just. Not true? And has never been true based on the only thing we've ever heard from her at that point.

not that what the creators feel comfortable with should dictate the fandom anyway BUT yeah sorry I just needed to get that out of my system. You guys don't actually give a shit about the CCs as people you just want brownie points for following made up rules to stay in your super awesome club house.
